Who are we?

Union Mapwork & Surveying are a cartography company, specialising in national and regional mapping of nations with the use of the most modern tools. Based in Alfegos, we have served the nation itself in mapwork, along with consultations with some other regional allies.

What do we do?

The company provides top-class services rivalling many others on the market in terms of map quality, sizes and aesthetics. Using either information collected from a client or pre-provided maps of inferior quality, we can convert them into high-class maps.

Examples:

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/Training-1.png

How to apply?

Simply fill out the form attached, detailing the requirements necessary for your map. If possible, attach an existing map for modification, though we will accept vague details to base our surveying upon.

Application Form UMS-C1

Size of Map (All units accepted):
Type of Map (Geographical, Political, Mixed, etc...):
File Format (All major and some minor types accepted):

Details for map (Image etc.):

A quick note on file formats - TIFF and PNG are recommended for their lossless natures, and large compression. BMP is to be avoided due to larger sizes. GIF and JPG will lose some formatting due to their reduction compression system, and can be larger than PNG.

As for maps, a summary of the ones on offer:
Geographical - All geographical features shown (e.g. mountains, forests etc.)
Political - Cities, political divisions, infrastructure on demand. No geographical features shown at all.
Mixed - Best of both above.
Topographical - Contours of your nation, both onshore and offshore
Land Use - Does what it says on the tin
Weather/Climate Maps - Special offers for storms
Route Maps - Maps of road, rail and air routes
Tectonic Maps - Maps of major fault lines

All others available on request.

I don't like it though. I RP my nation as be found on the east coast of a continent so i would like my nation to be bordered by the sea on the east and land left. I would also like my coastline to be a bit more exciting or realistic then the one on my map, so if you'd be creative for me and do that. My cities on the previous map and that i would like to keep are:

Albany,
Hjoklipo,
Casacad and
Seropius

other cities i would like on are:

San Romi,
Auckland,
Florence,
Athenia,
Mars,
Corner,
New Manchester,
Nile and
Thebes

The Capital, Florence, should be represented by a star (OOC: but i'm not bothered if it's a square or anything). I would like all cities linked by roads.

Thank You,

Along the coastline many small bay's can be found, but in the south is a larger bay. At the top of this bay i would like the capital of Markawa.

List of cities I would like:

Markawa (capital)
Bagango
Malienburg
Paraiso
Ortega
Corazol
Obregan
Dolores
Pacamac
Somato

We hae seen your propusal and wish to request that our nation be mapped. In this report are the details and application form that you require.

Application Form UMS-C1

Size of Map (All units accepted): 1024x768
Type of Map (Political, Topographical etc.): Political
File Format (All major and some minor types accepted): jpg

Details for map (Image etc.):

20 defensive islands are to form the outer rim and the protection of the five major islands inside the ring. No names of the islands are required for this.

The five major islands are like a compass.

To the north of Lynx is Lynscert Island which is the biggest out of the five islands. The capital is found on the south western point of the island called Lynperial Air Force Base. It has the Hunter Mountains covering the northern part of the island which gives it extra protection.

In the middle of the four islands is island number five. Lynx Island is the capital island with the capital being found, Lynx Port City, in the north east part of the island. The Palace is found on the southern tip of the island which is close to a cliff side.

To the east of Lynx is Lynhavox Island which is a major farming island and the capital city is found to the north west called Lynjav Port Town. The terrian is mainly farming except for the Hill Range which borders the eastern to the southern coast of the island where dense forests are based.

To The south of Lynx is Lynkavox Island which is a major industry island. The south to the centre of the island is the capital city and major industrial centre, is Lynkavok City. The native jungle is pushed to the east where it claims the coastline from the eastern coast to the southern coast.

To the west of Lynx is Lynpkav island which is a combination of industry, farming and urban centres. The capital of the island is found to the north west very tip of the island called Lyngavok Port City. the south-western part of the island is covered in the high Lynakn Mountain Range and dense forest covers around the mountain and out to much of the island. The farming is located to the south and the industry area is located to the north with bush inbetween the areas.

All four islands around Lynx Island are connected by railroad which is constructred on chain of islands. The ocean that surrounds Lynion is the Pacific Jing Ocean.

Islands from biggest to smallest

Lynscert Island
Lynkavox Island
Lynx Island
Lynhavox Island
Lynpkav Island

Thank you for attempting to make the map.

The commission for Whiskeasy has been finished, utilising all details provided. If any further additions are required, we will be happy to oblige. The style given here is a mixed political, with the focus being on the cities, transportation and mountain ranges. If a purely political one is needed, we will be happy to oblige.

All other applications will be completed in due course, with priority given to the first bidders (i.e. Leskov, you're next).

Application Form UMS-C1

Size of Map (All units accepted): Large
Type of Map (Political, Topographical etc.): political
File Format (All major and some minor types accepted): .jpg

Details for map (Image etc.):

My country is extremely large as there are four billion people living here. Mussleburgh is surrounded by the sea on all sides. Near the sea there are vast plains spreading into the middle of the gigantic island. In the middle of Mussleburgh is 'the ring' desert. A few towns built up around the oil and ore industry here. In the very middle of Mussleburgh there is a great mountain range with a active volcano being the centre piece.
Around Mussleburgh and especially on the southern side their are the medium sized tropical islands of Eastlothian. A colony of Mussleburgh.

List of cities I would like:
Mussleburghia or Weegiland
Fo'l Toon
Edinburgh

The rest can be made up from the a Scots dictionary.

Thank you.

I would like to keep this same basic island composition.
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l151/UEF-Hokie/OseatonMap.jpg
smaller islands:
http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l151/UEF-Hokie/SouthOseatonIslandscopy.jpg

I'd like to change the names of some of the cities and add a few(4) more to map. I'd also like the country divided into 6 states and a federal district (Small, centered around Oseato City), if that is alright. The main two "Home" Islands need to be enlarged to better demonstrate their size.

I'd like to keep:
Oseato City (Capital), Port Roanoke, New Hampton, Gaston, President Clarke Military City, Darfolk, and Hozhy

Could the rest of the city names be changed, using a mix of German and British names? The names of both Home islands need to be changed to East and West Oseato respectively. I would also like to keep the names of the seas and straits around my nation if at all possible.

Thank you for your time.

I would like two please. One fully political and one geo. Also instead of having a desert in the middle can I have a cloud pine forest. I would like to keep the volcano however. Thanks ever so much.

Here it is!
Lynion
01-09-2008, 14:15
That's better! The outline of the five major islands are what I thought of and I can always make the area seem bigger than they are. I can't wait to see the Outer Islands. One other thing, if you can, can you draw where the railway are? It goes around the island and goes across the bridges to connect to Lynx. All islands are connected to Lynx and the one next to it HOWEVER, Lynscert Island is only connected by Lynx Island. Can you do that as an extra?
Alfegos
01-09-2008, 14:20
I'll do the basic water/land masses first, then the cities, then the roads/railroads. Since it's a political map, there won't be any need for me to draw in terrain and that
Lynion
01-09-2008, 14:22
Thats cool. Could you at least name where the mountains are? I don't mind if you don't draw in the terrian I just need it for future reference when I do war games.
Alfegos
01-09-2008, 14:27
Tell you what, I'll do a geographical map for you as well, just so that you've got reference of terrain and that.
Lynion
01-09-2008, 14:30
That'll be great! If you can't do it, don't stress yourself, I can see that there are others waiting for your talent.

Alfegos
01-09-2008, 16:55
And here's the political one! Sorry I did it in .PNG, since it's the default. If you have any serious qualms, I'll convert for you.

Right, for Mussie: I have completed the Geographical one, albeit without any labels. I've included contour(ish) regions to indicate altitude, the darker being the higher. Note the massive crater in the mountains, the way all the islands line up, and that green splurge that is the pine forest.

Alfegos
02-09-2008, 08:19
Sorry 'bout that guys. It gives them as thumbnails, so if you change the address to remove the.th in front of the file format thingy, it should be alright.

Now now... Devil worship is banned in some parts! Sorry, but I've been busy this day, so political map may be a bit delayed.
