Tour of a nation CLOSED (ATTN Paralisa)

Chernobl
25-08-2008, 20:33
Nikolai Bellica sat nervously in the stretch limo the government had prepared for president Klien. It was his first day as president of a superpower and he was already meeting a foriegn leader. President Klien of Parilisa was on his way to Chernobl right now. The Paralisian government was a good friend of former president Volgin and Nikolai hoped to befriend them as well. The plane could be seen coming down on the runway as Nikolai stepped outof the car.

The ride had not been too pleasent but Klein had become used to turbulence on his travels. He was glad to be meeting the new President, though he was sad that he would probably not meet Volgin again. This was Klein's first visit to Chernobl, though Volgin had visited Parilisa recently.

The plane landed and the Parilisan Presidnet began to make his way down the stairs.
Chernobl
25-08-2008, 20:43
The planes door opened and Klien began coming down the stains. The Chernobl National Guard garrison in the capital of Berkau had put on a dazzling parade. Both sides of the red carpet was lined with officers in black dress uniforms. Nikolai took off his sunglasses and flashed a smile, he extended his hand and said "Greetings my name is Nikolai Bellica, you must be president Klien, good to meet you."
Parilisa
25-08-2008, 20:49
"A pleasure, a pleasure. Yes, I am Nathaniel Klein" said the Parilisan, shaking his hand. When he had met Volgin the man had addressed him as "comrade". There was none of that now. What was this new president's politcal affiliation, he wondered.
"A glorious display of fine soldiers you have set up here. I like the uniforms, very smart. And a red carpet, for me?" he laughed.
Chernobl
25-08-2008, 20:55
Nikolai laughed. "You like the uniforms? They are new, recently purchased to replace the old communist ones." Nikolai opened the limo door for Klien and ushered him into the limo. They settled down inside the limo. It was complete with a mini-bar and a telivision. "Like the car?" Nikolai asked with a smile.
Parilisa
25-08-2008, 20:59
"Spectacular" said Klein with a grin. "You have big shoes to fill Mr Bellica, Volgin was a good man. I would consider him a friend of not only Parilisa but of my own. As far as I could see there was no reason to be rid of him but I’m sure you understand the situation better than me. Where is Volgin now?”

OOC: Have to go now, but will pick this up again tomorrow.
Chernobl
25-08-2008, 21:02
"Well he stepped down from command just yesterday, though he ran for parliment and was elected so things are working out for him quite well. I do agree though, Volgin was a good man, a very good man."

OOC:No problem.
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 11:01
"So, Mr Bellica, where are we headed?"

OOC: Short but sweet lol
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 16:37
"Please, call me Niko, I was thinking of taking you to the industrial district to show you our factories and warehouses full of things we could possibly trade with you. Do you have any major exports Mr.Klien?"
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 19:24
“Very well, Niko, you may call me Nathaniel. We are developing, and as I am sure you are aware are population is much lower than yours. We trade mainly in raw materials, wood and coal and the like. Parilisa has a large Government controlled Arms Industry, but we don’t sell. If you’re after coal or wood we can sell it by the tonne, but we don’t manufacture much else at the moment. I’m working on it though!” said Klein with a smile.
“Visiting your factories would be very interesting, I am intrigued as to how such a prosperous nation runs. One day I hope Parilisa will be as powerful and influential as Chrenobl, and I will learn as much as I can. I remember taking Mr Volgin to one of Parilisa’s factories, he did something that surprised me greatly. He gave a worker a huge wad of money for no apparent reason, such was his great generosity.”
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 19:28
"If you want to visit Mr.Volgin first he should still be in his office."
Niko said. "He would probably love to see you."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 20:03
Klein thought before speaking. Had Niko said it because he had become irritated by the Parilisan constantly talking about the former President, or was it a genuine offer? Klein decided to pursue it anyway, for he was glad of a chance to meet his friend again.

"If that is good for you, then it is good for me." he said.
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 20:28
"Driver, head down to the Kremschtag." Niko said without hesitation. "Yes sir." They passed countless condos and luxury apartments. This was first class urban living.
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 20:32
The posh houses and swanky cars confused Klein a little, the Volgin he had meat seemed like a steadfast Communist who would have despised an area such as this. Now he was apparently living in it. He supposed that powerful men had to live in decent houses rather than run down terraces, but there was something a little too posh and a little too greedy about this place.
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 20:37
"We are going to the Kremschtag, the seat of government, this is one of the richer sides of town." Niko explained. "You see the unemployment rate is very low and shrinking due to the new buisnesses entering Chernobl. The ghettos that were once here are shrinking and the middle class is growing."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 20:49
“This is a nice place, and it’s good to hear that the quality of life for some people is improving. It would, however, be interesting to study how this has affected the working classes.”

Klein looked out of the window at this fast passing Middle Class metropolis with growing delight, such marvellous buildings and such happy looking people.

“I am looking forward to seeing Mr Volgin, you say he is a MP now? Is he minister of anything in particular?”
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 20:53
"Well he is the offical legislator for his home republic of Ukraine." Niko said. "He was elected by a landslide. The Ukrainians love him. I myself am half German half Romanian."
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 20:57
"And about the working class, well most of them occupy the small fishing villages in the Balkan states, or the rich fields in Italy. All the factories are in foriegn nations. The ones here only make tanks, planes and guns."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:01
“Sound’s like he’s landed himself a pretty comfortable job then. Tanks, planes and guns? For trade or for your own use? So, Niko, what are your political views? Old Volgin was a Communist, but you? What about you!?”
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 21:08
"Well I believe in personal freedom, buisness freedom and the ability to defend oneself, and those weaker then us." Niko said. "I well need to take you to one of our training camps for the military, would you like that? You see every Chernobl citizen serves two years, most serve more."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:10
"That would be a pleasure, we have compulsary service of one or two years in Parilisa, but about half of the people who go in don't want to stay on any extra. Have you done any soldiering yourself, Niko?"
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 21:13
"Yes I have, I fought in the Izhevskian conflict a few years back. I was KSK." Niko said. "Always a pleasure to meet a fellow soldier."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:16
"It is indeed, indeed it is." chuckled Klein. "Excuse my ignorance , but what is the KSK?"
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 21:25
"Kommando Speziel Krafte. The Special forces for all Bavarian born Chernoblians." He pulled a picture out of his wallet "This was me in Izhevskia." (Heres the pic: http://pixdaus.com/pics/j2eTX43Dm7u9pXxGbQ.jpg)
"It was taken by some reporter for National Geographic." Niko laughed. "Here." Niko handed it to Nathaniel.
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:38
“That’s a good photo.” said Klein, looking at the black and white snapshot. “You look like a good soldier there, and you can see all the devastation that war brings. You can also see that you appear to be freezing you’re bollocks of!” Klein laughed.

He took another look at the photo, noticing the obvious similarity between the face muffled in the balaclava and the President sitting next to him in the car. Both the men were soldiers turned to premiers, but the transformation always surprised him. They still served their countries, but war seemed a whole world away from the shirt and tie, cloak and dagger world of international politics.

“What was this Iskhevian conflict about?” asked Klein, handing the photo back to it’s owner.
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 21:41
"Well in the communist nation of Izhevskia, facsist rebels rose up and tried to take over, Chernobl, Jimzraway and Volzgrad deployed troops to put down the rebelion." Niko looked at the floor "I was one of them."
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:45
Why did Niko look at the floor, Klein wondered. Was he ashamed to have been a soldier? Was he ashamed that he had fough for a Communist regieme? Or was it something other than shame? Klein decided not to pursue it, he did not desire to upset or embarass this man.

"It sounds like a truly noble fight, I despise facism in all it's forms."
Chernobl
26-08-2008, 21:49
"Well I suppose you are right." Niko looked back up. "Oh were here, ready to see Volgin?"

OOC:I have to go. We can finish this up tomorow.
Parilisa
26-08-2008, 21:50
OOC: Okie dokes, I must go soon to so that's good!
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 19:15
As the two men walked into the Kremshtag the secretary at the front desk said "Good morning Mr.President, can I help you?" Niko quikly replied "We are here to see Volgin."
"Oh im sorry to tell you but Volgin jusk got onto a plane to Ukraine a few minutes ago."
Klien looked a slight bit sad. "Why did he have to go to Ukraine?" Niko asked "Family emergency, his son was wounded in Kabulish by an IED and brought to a hospital there."
Niko thanked the woman and they left the building. "Well I guess we wont be seeing him today, lets go to that training camp I was telling you about, shame about Volgins son, real shame."
Parilisa
27-08-2008, 20:43
“Never mind, never mind” said Klein. “His son is more important than some old politician. The training camp sounds very interesting, let’s go!” He added.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:23
"Alright, lets go, now the camp near Berkaun is the home camp of the 10th armored and the KSK." Niko pulled out his cell and said "Here let me call ahead and see if they can prepare a demonstration of sorts." He dialed a number and began speaking German into the phone. Soon he hung up and said "10th armored and KSK are putting on a little demo for us. The flyboys from Schenya airbase are going to do a fly-by to."
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:31
"Now the KSK have agreed to let us do a kill house practice with them. If you accept what will happen is, they will take you into the killhouse and have you sit in a room full of "Terrorists" and the will bust in and get us out, its rather fun, I have done it myself twice, the first time it was me doing the rescuing!" Niko laughed.
Parilisa
27-08-2008, 21:34
Klein laughed, this wasn't what one expected from a diplomatic tour of another country, but it sure did sound fun.

"I'm in." he said.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:39
"Great, I thought someone like you would enjoy it." Soon they arrived at the base. It was huge soldiers could be seen doing PT others could be seen at the renge. Three Leopard tanks rolled past themas they walked towards the killhouse. "Remember this is a live fire exercise, but the KSK are one of the worlds prmier hostage rescue forces and I can personally garuntee you wont be hurt." A KSK Sgt. gave them a short briefing of what would happen and they were ushered into the back room.
Parilisa
27-08-2008, 21:43
Klein felt excited and a little scared by the whole thing, but he knew no harm would come to him. It sounded fun, and at the same time quite unnerving. The room was intimidating, and Klein had no choice but to follow Niko through this unknown place.

Inside him, the thrill of being a soldier welled up once more. He loved exercises like this then and now.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:44
They both sat down in chairs as target shaped like guys with AKs were set up around them. Soon gunshots could be heard and the door bursted open, 4 guys with balclavas and MP-7s busted in, threw low level flashbangs, grabbed Niko and Klien and took them out of the room.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:45
Niko tried to shake of the flashbangs effects and asked Klien. "You OK?"
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:47
OOC:I rushed that post because I may need to go at any time.
Parilisa
27-08-2008, 21:48
Klein could not control his excitement, for a moment he forgot he was the leader of a nation and was like a little child who'd just had the most enjoyable experience of his life.

"Ok? I'm bloody fantastic!" he laughed.

OOC: No probs
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:49
Niko laughed and said "You wanna meet the team?"
Parilisa
27-08-2008, 21:50
Klein nodded his aproval. He felt much more comfortable with soldiers than with most politicians. Niko's attitude relaxed him a little, he felt as if he was meeting a military man rather than a President.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 21:54
"Well then lets go." they walked over to the balclava clad men standing by the door. "Gutentaug." The team leader said.
Chernobl
27-08-2008, 22:00
Each member of the team pulled off their balclavas and introduced themselves. Their names were Hans, team leader, Frantz, team locksmith/explosives expert, Jon, team sniper, and Jaque, team negotiator. "Feel free to ask them any questions you wish." Niko said.
Parilisa
28-08-2008, 19:05
OOC: Sorry that I left without warning last night, my computer buggered up!!

Klein inspected the men in his most military of moods. He had been member of a militia group and, whilst they were good, trained soldiers, there was not as much order or discipline.

“You.” He said, to the one who looked like their leader. “How many years have you been in? You look like you’ve done a few, no offence!”
Chernobl
28-08-2008, 19:56
"14 years sir!" The man held a salute and waited for Klien to salute back.
Parilisa
28-08-2008, 19:58
Klein returned the salute.

"14 years? Good heavens!" he exclaimed, letting his hand fall back to his side. "And you've never thought about getting out!?"
Chernobl
28-08-2008, 20:04
"Never, this is my home sir." The man relaxed. "I have been in since sixteen, served my years but decided not to leave."
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 18:38
"I have great respect for men like you, sir, great respect. You love your country enough to fight for it, and there is no more admirable trait than that." Klein saluted again, then turned to Niko.
"If we may go now, there is something I wish to discuss with you. This visit has given me an idea."
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 19:12
"Certainly, lets go." The men walked backto the limo and Niko asked "What exactly do you want to talk about?"
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 19:27
“Well,” said Klein. “I’ve recently allowed a nation to build a small military base in Parilisa’s puppet state, Phylisia. I think a similar scheme would work between our nations. If you allow me to base a small amount of Parilisan troops in Chernobl, and I give you permission to start a similar base near our capital, I think that would strengthen the bond between us. It would also help defend each other. If you think this could work, we could discus numbers etc.”
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 20:11
"That sounds like a great idea. I could station a mechanized division there. You can build a base anywhere you would like."
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 20:14
"I'm glad you like the idea. I don't know Chernobl very well, could you give me some advice as to where to build the base? Just tell me where and I'll have architechts flying over in the morning to begin construction."

OOC:What's a "mechanized division"?
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 20:43
"Well we are rather large it would probably be best to have a base in every region. You could have one here in Berkaun, a naval base in the Balkans and an airforce base in Ukraine, thats how I would do it."

OOC:A mechanized division is a tank division and and infantry division mixed, that way the infantry supports the tanks.
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 20:53
OOC: Oh right. Cool.

"Three bases? Very generous. Feel free to use any of the bases to train your own forces of course. As I've said I'll be sending my architechts over soon. What's the max amount of troops I can keep in each? It's important to agree on a limit I think, because otherwise one could be moving millions of men into each others provinces!" laughed Klein.
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 20:55
"Well I would say one or two divisions max, for the naval base one fleet and for the airforce base about on three or four wings." Niko thought for a moment "Any recomendations on where I should put my base?"
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 20:58
"There's plenty of unused countryside about 50 miles away from the capital, you can build there. I'm afraid our nation isn't big enough to host three bases, but as we grow we could consider it."
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:01
"Well perhaps we could have a small airfield in the base so it could also be used for an airforce base, what do you think?"

OOC:Where are you located on the world map?
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:03
OOC: Northern Europe. Why?

"Sounds suitable. Start construction whenever you feel fit, we'll help you in whatever way we can."
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:06
OOC:Cool just wondering.

"Great! Well we should get back to buisness, lets head down to my office and discuss other officals, unless you would like to see more of the city of course, we have several museums and landmarks if you want to see them."
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:08
"It's getting late," said Klein, it had been a long day. "I hope you won't think me rude if we head straight to the office? Is there something in paticular you wish to discus?"
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:12
"Very well then, driver, you heard the man head to the presidential palace. Well seeing as we let in buisness we would be interested in letting in any Parilisan buisnesses, also I hear you are still developing your military, all of our surplus is for sale if your interested."
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:13
"Of course. Parilisa is always interested in trade, but trade with an ally is even better. Tell me, Niko, what do you have for sale that may interest me?"
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:18
"As I mentioned our vast military surplus is all for sale, we also have large amounts of fish from the villages on the Adriatic, our vast mines in the alps pump out various minerals and metals and you can start contracts with some of our government operated military factories that allow them to produce weapons with your needs in mind." Niko reached over to the mini bar pouring two glasses of whisky offering one to Klien.
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:19
Klein thanked Niko and took the whisky. It was good to have a drink, it relaxed him a little more.

"I'm most interested in the military contracts you mention. That sounds very interesting. How do I go about getting one?"
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:23
"Well it depends on what you want, tanks, planes or firearms. The only problem with this would be the production time, with the surplus we could have it shipped to Parilisa within the day plus its far cheaper."
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:25
"Then the surplus is probably more convenient currently, though I may contact you concerning the contracts within time. What is this surplus exactly? And how much are you asking for it?"
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:27
"Well our surplus includes everything from uniforms to supercarriers. Name it and we have it, what do you currently need?"

OOC:If you arent already familliar with this site, you can check your military budget here:
http://nstracker.jfsoftware.com/index.php?nation=parilisa&nation2=chernobl&nation3=&nation4=&nation5=&nation6=
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:33
"Well I don't think the uniforms are needed. But we can take things like firearms and tanks and planes. I'm sure you can sort me out with a suitable package..."
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:36
"I certainly can, lets start with firearms, what kind of guns are you currently in need of?"
Niko asked while downing the whisky and pouring another glass.
Parilisa
29-08-2008, 21:38
"We're short of most things, and always willing to take on more. My generals seem to be fond of sniper rifles. We are working on increasing the development of assault rifles, so I think that for the time being we'll only take snipers from Chernobl. What type have you got, and for what price?"

OOC; G2g, but will pick this up ASAP.
Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:44
"Well most of our surplus includes the SVU and SVD variants both are very reliable, though the SVU is of far higher quality. I would say about 500USD for the SVD and 900USD for the SVU."

OOC:Links for the SVU and SVD

Chernobl
29-08-2008, 21:52
Ooc:ok
Parilisa
31-08-2008, 15:36
"I think we can take about 1000 of the SVU's. That sounds good. We are very short of tanks, perhaps you have a range?"

OOC: Btw, recently Parilisa opened up a Uranium mine. It's small but we may be able to trade it. I completely forgot about it before!
Chernobl
31-08-2008, 17:11
"We have thousands of T-72s and T-80s for sale."
Parilisa
01-09-2008, 20:20
Klein paused to think for a short while before saying:

“100 of the T-80’s, I think that would be a good choice. And I may contact you asking for more in time. I think that’s enough of everything for now, but I’d be interested in developing one of the aforementioned contracts in the future.”
Chernobl
01-09-2008, 23:19
Niko finished filling out the forms for the SVUs and T-80s handing them over to Klien to initial. "Well Nathaniel, it has been a great pleasure meeting you. My limo is waiting outside to take us to the airport. The gear you ordered should have arrived at your ports by the time your flight touches down." Niko and Klien began to leave the palace and stepped into the limo.

02-09-2008, 20:22
OOC: I’ve been a bit busy lately, as you can probably tell from my lack of response over the last few days. Sorry about that, I’ve tried to answer as frequently as possible but it still hasn’t been as often as I’d have liked. Anyway, we seem to be coming towards the end of this meeting, I can’t think of much else to say! lol
