Hey everybody im making a map for future referance and RP use and i was wondering where people want me to place their nations. I reserve Eastern Europe, The Balkans, Bavaria and Italy. Everywhere else is open.

Sorry, I left Earth long ago to explore the cosmos[I.E. I integrated my MT nation into my FT one and started my own planet.

It's called "Terra Prime" in case anyone was wondering or ever comes across it.

Edit: Love the map idea though.

Any form of NS Earth is a hollow sphere to maintain the same mass and gravity of the planet while having more surface area.

Suffice to say, the most talented and beautiful Tanaara has made a exquiste map of the Fatal Terrain where Catawaba is a small emerald in the southeast. I'd surmise that Fatal Terrain is situated in the northern hemisphere with Catawaba on the equator.

Sadly...photobucket has taken a dislike to me and won't let me access my account or even my album...and Tanaara's cartographic goodness is too big for the upload.

My history is built along Finland, Sweden, Norway, Trinidad, and Tobago. I was wondering if I should put in Denmark but that'll be when I think of a good story on how I captured the territory by naval forces before or early on the colonial era.

Though I'm too lazy to log in my Photobucket account and upload the pictures of my territories so they get lost in Imageshack occasionally.

This has been tried many times by many people. None have really succeeded. It led to OOC fights amongst members as well as the spawn of the multiple earth threads\groups(Earth II III IV and so on - an abomination if you ask me).

The best way imho is to acknowledge that multiple nations claiming to own the same territory, actually own duplicates of that territory.
For example: Nation x owns all of North America, but nation y owns Canada and Greenland. There is no overlap because they each have their own separate territory which is contained in identical but different landmass. This method also allows user drawn landmasses to be included in the NS earth.
Its really the only way to provide for the fact that there are thousands of nations and trillions of people in NS. You can reconcile the problems with this by using the old standby of the multiple converging realities principle. Or you can go with, the earth is just really huge.

I'm in a fictional region with its own map that doesn't correspond to RL geography.

The only way for this to really succeed to a point is to go off-site. My nation has traditionally been based off of a "communisation" of the most of Asia, while India and South-east Asia are fragmented into tiny, weak states.

The empire includes Oceania, streches up to Thailand and west to Africa under Zaire.

My nation is essentially the Baltics, Balkans, and Russia all combined into one massive country. I believe the correct term is Eurasia, but since my nation doesn't get anywhere past Germany, I don't think that name would work.

Eurasia would technically include China and India, as well as Central Asia. Your nation seems smaller than the real Soviet Union.

The Republic of Miami Shores in Miami Dade County. All of South Florida. Greater Miami shores, would include all of Florida and the West Indies.
Greater Greater Miami Shores would include all of Central America.

Florida, Cuba, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Barbados, ect, ect, ect.

I think Parilisa is probably in North Eastern Europe, it's not huge at the minute but it's certainly no small place either!

Roma V basically occupies the borders of the modern day Italian Republic and Leichstur is located off the western coast of Scotland.

As mentioned previously you can't really claim or reserve a fixed RL geological spot outside of a closed RP group or off site forum. However there is nothing to stop you havign a nation that looks oddly like an RL location as long as you remeber that it is likely one of 2-2000 indentical countries...

Crookfur conssits of a large island just north of the Gulf stream in the north atlantic, another big island in the centre of the atlantic on the same latitude as the canaries, a series of mixed islands off the coast of west africa and a small island about 150km west of the outer hebrides
