"This is channel 13 news correspondent Tatyan Merkesh reporting from Kabulish, Chernobl. There was a terrible bombing today in a market in the dangerous southern part of the city. This is the second bombing this year to take place in Chernobl colonies in the area." The camera pulls back to show a large smoking pile of rubble with fire volunteers runing in and out looking for survivors. "About twenty people are presumed dead, another 30 wounded." It showed several bloody corpeses lying on the sidewalk. "The main suspect in this act of terror is Kheled Al-Harsi leader of Al-Hamasi militants in the area." The Chernobl government put a 10,000,000$M bounty on whoever kills or captures this man. Chernobl troops in the area can be seen patroling the streets and desert in the colony." Open to international comments and assistance.

It began showing several men in shemaghs and balclavas holding AKMs. One man began to read from a piece of paper in arabic befor they brought out a man wearing the uniform of a Chernobl humanitarian corps. member. The man with the paper finished speaking and he put a desert eagle to the mans head. You can guess what happened next.

After confirmation was given from the government of Chernobl, the President Yeon Hwan Park met with the Join Chiefs of Staff. They discussed the policy for combating the terrorists in Chernobl.
The first unit to be contacted was the 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit out on patrol in International waters. The 2,500 Marines on board with some 200 sailors on the Tarawa Class Ship made its way towards Chernobl.
Along with the 1st MEU, the Commandant of the Marine Corps authorized the 1st Marine Division as a ground force, the 1st Marine Airwing and the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion to operations in the region.
The Navy deployed 1 Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier and two Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers to the region as well.
The Army deployed the 23rd Ranger Regiment and the 1st Special Forces Group to the region.
All the units were mobilized and prepped for combat. The Marines were likely to be the first to arrive as it was in fact their role. The 1st MEU would arrive shortly.
Total Ground Forces (including logistics)
Marines: 14,200
Army: 2,500

A BMP-3 rolled down the streets of Kabulish. It wasjust a routine patrol implemented with the new policy for Kabulish. Their job was just to secure the city so even more Guard troops could land. Suddenly an RPG-7 rocket flew overhead hitting a merchant stand. The BMP turned and put 4 of its 20mm grenades into the building before releasing the 7 men it carried. the medic ran out to help the merchant who was lying on the ground screaming for help as the rest of the team cleared the building.

The 1st MEU arrived along the shore along with the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion. The MEU setup Camp Red Diamond just outside the city of Kabulish. The 1st Marine Division began arriving as well, but was no where near completely setup.
Two infantry platoons began to patrol certain districts of the city while the Spec Ops Battalion of 450 began reconaissance operations by sending in 3 platoons of 25 marines through the city to pick out key targets for an air assault as well as possible terrorist strongholds.

OOC: Well can you give me an estimate as to how many of these terrorists there are?
IC:
With the 1st Marine Division and 1st Marine Airwing fully functional and on the ground, they simply conducted training operations at Camp Red Diamond while the 1st MEU continued to secure a small portion of the city. In the meantime the marines special forces found a small terrorist stronghold in the southeastern portion of the city, and radioed in the coordinates to the 1st Airwing.

The guardsmen were far superior in skill and training to the Kabulish garrisonso their help would be appreciated. they piled off of the C-130s that flew them there bringing T-90 and Type-99 tanks, BMP-3s and several Mi-24s and 29s. The air Corps also brought large groups of Su-47s and other planes. The Guardsmen loaded up intotheir designated vehicles an got moving towards the city.

OOC: Well seeing as the pop of the city is about 2 mil i would say around 30,000 give or take a few thousand. Plus the city government has a militia that has tanks so beware of deserters as well. they are mainly armed with RPGs SVDs, AKMs standard terrorist gear. If you see any T-72 tanks they are not ours so feel free to engage them.

After calling in the coordinates for the air strikes, two F-18c Hornets took off from the airbase in Camp Red Diamond. The two fighter jets flew over the city identifying the two buildings. The two planes broke off targeting one building a piece and fired an air to surface missile into each building. If they hit the target, the two buildings would collapse and set off two large blasts in the city. This was the first message from the Marines to let the terrorists know that they were not a group to mess with.
The 1st MEU was given a target by one of the Special Forces Battalions. A large building that was 8 stories high. (similar to the image below)
http://http://www.theage.com.au/ffximage/2007/08/10/IraqTourism_wideweb__470x322,0.jpg
The large complex of buildings house a number of rebels. The Spec Ops identified a number of figures around the building armed with AKMs, and signs of RPGs as well.
The 1st MEU advanced through the city heading through a territory that was declared hostile on a map given to them by the Chernobl government. While driving through a main road in the neighborhood, the convoy faced heavy fire from the surrounding buildings. At least 10 RPGs went off at once, with some hitting the worn in roads, while one HMMWV and two Supply trucks were hit in the rear of the convoy. The Marines returned fire with men firing out of the windows of the heavily armored HMMWV. The one that was struck resulted in the death of 2 Marines and the other 2 injured seriouslys. A portion of the convoy broke off to help the 2 injured marines while others provided cover and continued their advance.
The command staff at Camp Red Diamond heard the situation over the radio. Their determination was that they faced a determined enemy, especially with the level of resistance shown at their first real conflict.
Some of the infantry based along the convoy was able to receive enough cover to the point where they were able to go building by building to clear road and make sure it was safe for any other convoys that passed through nd so. The first building was approached by all sides. The Gunnery Sergeant nodded to one of the Lance Corporals, who in turn tossed a flash bang into the building. After the blast went off the marines poured into the building. Shots were heard outside as they encountered resistance. After clearing the building, they continued down the street on each side. Eventually, enough cover was given for the .50 calibur guns on top of the HMMWVs to return fire into the buildings.
The Empire of Charzak withdraws from this war due to an uprising in our own nation. We will return as soon as this uprising is put down.

"Al-Hamasi sent us another video sir." Volgins aide told him. "We recognized the location, its a cave just north of Kabulish. We are awaiting your orders." "Airstrike him, Turn that cave to dust." Volgin told the man "Yes sir." Minutes later 3 Su-47 FBs dropped enough J-DAM in that cave to turn it into a crater.

The Marines Aircraft Wing continued heavy bombing on numerous locations in the city. Hitting a number of buildings where special forces pointed out suspected weapons caches and terrorist hide outs.
The 2nd Marine Division was prepared to move into the action. The 1st MEU had managed to clear the main road along the city. In the meantime they circled out of the city and then met up with the 2nd Marine Division. It was here that the main invasion would begin.
The Army setup operations at Camp Korea, and began prepping for their phase of the operation. The 23rd Ranger Regiment had also arrived and was setting up their plans for the operation as well.
The 1st MEU made another pass through the main road and branched off to other blocks nearby. They came under fire from terrorists in nearby buildings, but were faced with fire returned from Il Korean forces.
There was an estimated brigade of enemy forces located in the center of the city, where the 2nd Marine Division pushed towards, with the MEU to their east. The 23rd Ranger Regiment would eventually pull up on their west and clear out the western flank.
As the 2nd Division pushed in, they came under heavy fire from T-72 Tanks. However, the armor regiment, consisting of M1A1 Abrams Tanks moved in and was able to take out 3 T-72s.
Sniper squads setup in the surrounding buildings in order to help pick out any enemy forces. Bombing continued north of the Marines positions as the Terrorists fought with the Marines.
A confirmed 20 Terrorists were killed in a fierce fire fight at night in a small park located within the city. The 2/2 Marines engaged in close range fire with 20-50 terrorist fighters. Three marines were killed and 12 were wounded in the fighting. The 2nd Division eventually formed into a wall of troops, covering block after block as they cleared one building at a time pushing their way through the city. LAV-25 vehicles and M1A1 Abrams Tanks continued to pound away at buildings where heavy fire was received from enemy forces.
The 23rd Ranger Regiment pushed through the city facing relatively light resistance while entering, but eventually engaged in fierce fire fights with a platoon of rebel fighters.
The 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion received word of a possible high ranking member operating west of the city in the country side. He had around 1,000 troops operating under him. After finishing up operations in Kabulish, they headed west towards the location of the possible terrorist chieftan.

The Marines didn't need help from 400,000 troops, but they accepted it regardless. The Special Forces troops captured a high ranking member of the terrorist organization.
With the assistance from the Chernobl Forces, the Marines continued to push through clearing 3/4 of the city. The air strikes came to an end, as some of the remaining terrorist forces began to surrender.
Once the city was cleared, the Marines and Army setup points around the city where they would patrol while the reconstruction process began.

After the Marines setup check points along the city to patrol. The Il Korean Army called up the 2nd Infantry Division to replace the 2nd Marine Division currently operating in the region.
In the meantime, the Marines used intelligence they gathered to attempt to track down any remaining terrorists in the area and hunt them down.
