A Family's Loss (Open)

THIS THREAD IS NOW OPEN
Since Kaori's marriage to James they started a wonderful family together. Having four children already and potentially more. Their oldest daughter was Yui, 13 a little cutie and very bright. Yui also had a very child like youth and personality to her, she wasn't immature but she wasn't overly mature either. One rainy day Yui sat aching to go outside, she didn't care how rainy it was she was going to try to get outside once her father arrived home. Kaori busied her self with matters of the home. When not running the state with an iron fist (sort of) she was running her household. The younger children were playing around. Yui constantly peered out the window. "When's dad coming home?"
"He should be home any minute honey."
James came in soaked from the rain. "Hi dad, bye..." Yui couldn't get two feet with out being stopped. "Woah, your going out in this storm."
"Dad, come on, that's a drizzle."
The sound of thunder rang out. "Okay it's a thundery lighting kind of drizzel."
More claps of thunder.
James Vermon was pleased with his life. He had a lovely and faithful wife, bright and healthy children, a great career and had been spared from the horrors of the Myakkan Revolution which engulfed his beloved nation. He was content with the life he had been given and felt that nothing would happen to cause it to be ruined even though he never ceased to consider the possibility and such considerations really haunted him. He never let them get to him though and he walked into his house while stopping Yui from going out in the rain. "Your mother will not want you to catch a cold." James said with a smile as he took his seat on a nearby recliner with his legs up and his hands on a magazine that he got his hands on earlier while his eyes occassionally looked at his wife. "I hope you've had a good day, Kaori. My day was quite satisfactory as it usually happens to be. Yui, did you have a good day today?"
James flipped through the pages of the magazine while uttering some words in Myakkan. He was interested in the articles about daily life in Motokata and the entertainment scene. "I don't really like the tabloids...they are quite a nuisance to people because they usually are chock full of lies and slander against people just because they may be rich and famous. How sickening. Don't they have anything better to do?!"

"Yes daddy." She ran off upstairs. Kaori kissed and greeted her husband. "My days been good. I'll be glad once this typhoon threat passes though, Yui is getting cabin fever like crazy."
"Tabloids, you get used to them after a while. At least they have left me alone for a while." Kaori returned with a hot cup of tea.
James smiled. "I am sure that Yui will get to go out and enjoy herself soon enough. As for those damned tabloids, I'm glad they have not been bothering either of us. Hopefully it will stay that way. By the way, I think we should go out on a vacation sometime."
James put the magazine down and smiled happily as he got up to embrace his wife while making sure to put the tea somewhere safe. He took her firmly in his arms and gave her a tender kiss. "I'd love to spend some alone time with you, my love."

"A vacation sounds nice."
Kaori kissed him. "Every time it rains like this I'm reminded of our night in that stable." She kissed him more gradually making love to him.

James grinned. "We would not want to unleash passion here for fear of the kids seeing us. Let's go upstairs."
OOC: Fast forwarding.
After that moment of pleasure was finished, James commended Kaori for her carnal skills as he got out of the bed to change in time for dinner. He was feeling quite hungry and was hoping to join his family for a hearty feast. Walking around, he wondered if dinner was ready and hoped to smell the fine cooking of the chefs.

Everyone sat around the table. Rain filled the windows making them look like waterfalls.
Kaori smiled at everyone sitting. "Yui, you have to eat those cucumbers."
Yui sighed and lifted her napkin which she was trying to conceal them with.
"You need your veggies honey, just ask your father."
James smiled as pride filled his voice. "Aye, fairest child of mine, I've eaten plenty of veggies in my childhood. Just look how strong they've made me!"
He joked around by flexing those muscles of his that had certainly charmed Kaori on many occassions before. "Veggies made me who I am!" He'd say with a smile before taking a bunch of vegetables onto his fork and eating them happily as if he was a child eating some ice cream. When he finished eating, he simply smiled.
"It's best if you eat them, Yui. They do have plenty of nutrients beneficial to the human body."
James then looked at his other children and smiled. "I'm sure they'll eat their vegetables too. We all need the nutrients."

Most were, Yui was the only one who didn't like vegetables, period. Yui loved fish though and at least it was fish for dinner tonight.
Later that evening Kaori and James retired to the bedroom. Kaori brushed her hair. Bright flashes of lighting filled the room. "I guess I can understand Yui's dislike for veggies, when I was her age, I refused to eat fruits. Ironic isn't it sweetie?"
James smiled. "Irony can be funny to experience at times. I'm sure Yui will eventually accept eating vegetables. After all, we would not want her to be deprived of good nutrition. I'm sure that she gets vegetables from the school we've sent her to. I've been to that school and I think it's great for our lovely girl."
James tucked himself in the bed. "Perhaps, when Myakka is fully at peace, Yui can visit and even be a student in one of Myakka's many schools. Just thinking about Myakka really makes me sad. I just hope that peace is restored one day so that I can take you there."

"Well, I certainly hope Myakka will find peace."
Yui entered. "Hi honey."
"I was wondering if I could sleep here tonight."
"I don't see why not."
"Sleep here? Did you have a nightmare or something?" James said curiously.

"Yes. And I'm just a little scared by the loud thunder and the close lightning." Yui wasn't really wasn't astraphobic but one of classmates was struck during a school outing, something not easy to forget.
"You can tell us about the nightmare if you want." James said as he made room for Yui. "Come and sleep."

"Thanks." Yui cuddled up. "Like old times" Kaori thought. She used to cuddle up with her little one before she re-married.
"Love you both." Yui said.
"Good night, Yui. Good night, my love. Sleep well."

The following morning the children all prepared for school. The younger ones didn't have to wear a uniform to their school but Yui did. Adjusting her self in the mirror she looked good. She gulped down her orange juice. "Bye mom, by dad." She kissed them both goodbye.
At school Yui was putting things away in her locker when she found a love note. "Is that a love note? you have a secret crush?" her best friend Asuka asked.
"No I didn't write it. Someone else did."
"Oh someone likes you." She sang.
"Come on, who would like me?"
"You are the First Daughter."
"If that's the only reason I think I'll move to that island of all women."
Asuka giggled. "I wonder if you'll get more notes. It's possible you have a secret admirer....and I'm sure that we'd end up having to do some heavy duty snooping to find out their identity."
She smiled. "I remember when Miyu sent me all those notes. He tried so hard to court me and I just fell for it in the end with my heart's defenses destroyed in the end."

"Yeah I remember the notes, Miyu tried to pass them off as secret, despite the fact no matter what every top of the note would say "From desk of Miyu." They both laughed. Every stationary set had student names on them.
"Well, Asuka, you and I will have to play detective. I'll read this to everyone at lunch."
When the girls were gathered in the school yard after lunch Yui read the note.
"Your dark hair is like dark clouds on the horizon. To some they bring threats to others brings relief from the heat. The heat of you, the heat of your body.
And finally, your smile, your smile is as bright as the stars in the country side. Love, your secret admirer. And the rest is a group of strange symbols."
Asuka was puzzled. "He must be some novice poet or something like that. The words that he used reflects this and proves, to me at least, that this is so. I'd love to play detective with you and track down the admirer...although it will be much harder than with Miyu!"
Another girl smiled. "Perhaps he may be someone we know...it's possible that we've may have known the author of this note for some time now. Whoever it is though will no doubt try to conceal their identity like superheroes do. Thus his use of the common secret admirer thing."
The other girls nodded their heads in unison. "Whoever he is, we must find him. Besides...it will give us all something to do."

"Could be anyone."
"I always thought Kota had a thing for you."
"Kota, from History Class?"
"Oh come on, he's shy and smart, he's totally the type to do this."
"Do you think we should ask him?"
OOC: Don't worry everyone. This isn't going to devolve into a mere drama about school love and what not. We are just setting the background for this story.

"Yeah let's go ask him."
The girls tossed their garbage and went on the prowl.
Kota examined the letters "Not mine. Who ever did this, is very good the got rid of their name on the paper OR they brought paper from home. And they know mathmatical linear symbols."
"Are you kidding me?" Yui protested. "God, I hate math, how can I solve a math puzzle."
"Can't help you there, but there may be a book in the libary to help. Or you can try online."
"Thanks Kota."
"We should focus our search on the math geeks and we should try to solve this puzzle. I'm quite looking forward to discovering the identity of your secret admirer, Yui."

"Well, let's go to the library." They all ran off having been scolded by a passing teacher to walk.
In the library they struggled and finally cracked the code.
"Oh my word....Oh, nuts. I guess it wasn't what we thought, it was a cute challenge by our Math Teacher."
"Figures." Most of the girls said.
"Well, Asuka, I guess this means we passed the assignment."
Or so Yui thought it was.
"I suppose it does. What shall you do now?"

Later in class Yui busied her self trying to finish the work, to not have homework. In the frenzy of it she forgot to tell her teacher that she finished it. Just as she was about to leave for the day she returned to tell him and show him.
"I'm very proud of you Yui, you've come a long way over the course of the semester."
"Thanks, I've had some help."
"Well you should be very proud of your self."
"Well, I am. I'm bad at math but you make at least somewhat understandable. "
"I'm glad. You know Yui, this can stay a secret among us but I really like you. More than just as my student. You are very lovely." He began to stroke her hair.
"Uh, I should go, my parents expect me home right away from school."
"Relax, tell them you had to talk with me to get some help."
There was a sudden shaking as a light earthquake struck. Her teacher grabbed her to "Shelter her" but now he had an excuse to grasp her. He stroked over her body lightly as the rumbling stopped.
"What was that?"
"Must have been an earthquake."
"Now I really must be getting home."
Yui could feel his hands on her own developing breasts. She didn't like it and she forced away.
"You know their could be a stronger one ready to hit."
"Which is why I should get going. My parent's will already be worried."
Yui dashed out of school and ran home. She wrestled with the decision to tell her parents.
Dinnertime was usually something James looked forward to after a long day of work which kept him on his feet most of the day to his irritation. As he took his seat at the dinner table, he would smile at his wife and children and give thanks for the food and drink he was about to consume, digest, and dispose of in the usual cycle all men and women go through. He began eating his food calmly while going on about some story of his childhood back in the good old days of Myakka as he would call them. Everyone laughed and inquired more and more about those days but James felt saddened when he saw that Yui was not eating her food. "Is something wrong, child? Anything happen at school?"
James smiled. Yui was not his child by blood but he treated her as if she was his true flesh and blood daughter and was always there for her to help her and cherish her as life's challenges unfolded. "If you want to tell us later, you can. I don't want to pressure you or anything." James said with a smile.

"Huh? Oh, i-i-it's nothing. I guess I'm just a bit spooked by the earthquake today."
"I'm sorry, I forgot to ask you how you were, sweetie?" Kaori said. "You haven't been in an earthquake before and I know they can be rather scary."
"I'm okay mama. Really."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, but can I please be excused?"
"Yes, you go get some rest."
The following day Yui arrived early at school. She had to tell her teacher that she was his student, nothing more.
"Mr. Akiyama."
"Good morning Yui, you aren't due in here till later."
"About yesterday, I think we had a slight misunderstanding. I know you were just protecting me, like if you were my father..."
"I enjoyed holding you, Yui."
"Now look, it's wrong, okay?"
"It doesn't have to be. It wasn't for your mother when she married your father."
"Which father? I have two, my natural father died when I was still a baby."
"I see. Well, Yui, I feel we have a special realtionship..."
"NO! Now I'm going to tell Principal Itoh about what you did. Then I'm going to tell my parents. My mother will see to it that you never work again!"
As Yui tunred her teacher took a metal coffe pot and wacked her over the head. He picked up the class phone on his desk.
"Office."
"Hi, it's me from 12B, I have an emergencey situation to take care of, so my class will have to be subbed today. Great thanks."
He tied Yui up and covered her up and stealthly moved out to his car. Now Yui was in serious trouble.
OOC: If any other people are reading this, this thread will be open soon. I'm sure you've all pretty much got the gist of where this RP is leading.
James entered his comfortable and luxurious house after a long day of work dressed in nothing but his trusty hat and suit while reading a book he'd picked up from some bookstore on the way over. He'd been content with his day and was looking forward to some rest. All the children got home, of course, and so did Kaori but someone dear to him happened to be missing. His beloved daughter, Yui, did not come home at the usual time and this puzzled him. At first, he considered that she was with some of her friends and thus would be home later (though he'd appreciate her calling about being home late) and thus decided to wait a while. When he found Kaori, he talked to her about it. "I think she must be with some of her friends...but I do wish she would call about it so I'd not have to worry about it."
James smiled and got himself a ice cold drink. "I'm sure that she'll be home soon. I'm sure of it." Nearly gulping down his entire drink, James walked away from Kaori before finding one of his children to tell a good story to. He never knew about what went on at Yui's school like all fathers and mothers in this sort of situation. Eventually it was dinner time and she was still not home. This did anger James but it also made him worry about his daughter's well being. "Kaori, you must go and call the school. If need be, I'll go out and look for her."
James went to get his trusty hat and coat but waited by the door so he could hear from Kaori if the school knew anything about Yui's whereabouts. New thoughts came into his mind but he shrugged them off because he never wanted to assume the worst even if it was possible. "Kaori? What have you heard?"

"They haven't seen Yui all day in class. I've called all her friends, they say they haven't seen her either. That's it, I'm calling the Secret Service." Kaori dialed the phone. Within hours the Service as well as the as the Criminal Investigation Agency. While the Secret Service was searching around town for signs of Yui, the CIA was beginning the basic process of potential kidnapping. Tapping the home phone to trace in and outgoing calls, getting DNA and Prints from staff and family members and preparing Alert Bulletins for local and international news. Because this was the daughter of the Grand Leader, this was taken as a potential international crime. When no Sign of Yui was evident they went ahead with the alert.
-------------------
NEWS ALERT!
The male newscaster came up on a live world wide broadcast and around the nation.
"We have some breaking news coming out of Kyokai right now, today, Grand Leader Oda's oldest daughter, Yui Oda, went missing. The CIA and Secret Service are investigating and treating the situation as a full kidnapping with potential political motivations. Yui left for school as per her usual routine, any and all embassies in the country are receiving this alert but are also being put on lock down. While the CIA does not find it likely this was a breach by any embassies within the nation, they are not ready to rule anything out. In addition to the Nation Wide Alert for Yui, international alerts have also been posted, in the event Yui and her captor may have left the country. At this time there are no prime suspects, but the process of elimination has began. G.L. Oda is preparing to make a statement shortly. Joining us now is Poltical Abductions Expert, Yukito Kunasaki. He's worked with many national leaders on how to prevent their or any member of their familie's abduction, thanks for being here."
"Pleasure is all mine."
"What a horrible event, nobody want's this to ever happen but it is the risk that comes with the job."
"Your right, Shep sadly this kind of thing happens all to often, and at this point the media becomes frenzic, crazy, the family goes through a horrible amount of grief and fear, this doesn't end until either the child is found alive, or dead. I'm sure everyone is hoping for young Yui's return safe and sound."
"Well what do you expect Oda will do."
"As any other mother, she'll likely plead for help from her citizens, and maybe abroad because she's a national leader. Sadly there usually isn't a huge rallying cry around these sorts of events."
"What is important that the CIA and the family can do."
"What is important is, get their daughter's face out there. Keep her in the spotlight, get as many eyes looking as possible, it really reduces the number of hiding places. What is sad about this is, now politics comes into play, any nation that doesn't agree can easily become a safe harbor for this criminal, any nation that may say not agree with Capital Punishment, or Capitalism, or any ideology can become a safe harbor. What is important is make sure everyone knows."
"What if politics comes into play?"
"If that happens, the best the family can do, is hope to rally international pressure, now this doesn't always happen, Shep, in all the cases I've worked with 99% of criminals who have fled the state usually are extradited back with no political fuss, but I will caution the family not to rule that out."
"Okay, thanks a lot for your impute, we now go to the Press Conference by Madam Oda, let's take a look."
Kaori stepped up to the podium, she couldn't fight back the tears.
"My little daughter, my baby, Yui was taken by a still unknown assailant. Yui is everything to me, she is everything to this family. Please, I ask everyone to help find her. Please bring my 13 year special little lady home. Yui deserves to be home, with her parents, and her brothers and sisters. Please if the one responsible is watching, I ask you as a mother, please return her to us." Kaori could say nothing more. She had to leave and she did.

OOC: This thread is officially open to all who wish to help find Yui and the kidnapper.

James had been angered by the unexpected turn of events that had taken place with the disappearance of his beloved daughter, Yui, who had vanished from her school. He never took too kindly to certain kinds of people and any man who dared to touch anyone in his family ranked among the highest scum, the highest pieces of shit, on his list. He spent his time alone while contemplating the problem unfolding before him and those around him and felt a mixture of sadness and anger boiling within him. Eventually he found Kaori and took hold of her with a calm smile on his face to mask the sheer anger that could be found within his usually outgoing composure. "We'll find our daughter, Kaori. We'll root out the bastard and bring her home here. We can only hope and pray for her safety."
James wiped away some tears from his lovely wife's face. "Kunasaki and the others will do whatever they can, I am sure, to find Yui. We will do our part as well...but we must not let ourselves be consumed with fear but we must wade ourselves through the sea of sorrow and rely upon the generosity of those hardworking souls, national and abroad, who spend time and effort to help us....and though I would hate it, I'm sure some people would help just for that good old amount of money we've promised them."
James then began to walk away from his wife. "We should talk to the other children. Hopefully they'll understand and be more careful in the future. If Yui, God forbid!, is deceased....then I...can only hope the kidnapper will suffer for it. Suffer greatly for the sin."

They rounded up their four children two boys: Junichiro and Watari and their two girls named Michiko and Aya. Aya was the youngest of the bunch and already traumatized by the loss of her big sister.
"Yui's disappearance, it's a terrible thing. But the worst thing we can do now, is let this tear us all apart. Now is the time when we need to be together to find your sister. Night fell over the Motokatan nation as it had always done, and with not much fanfare, as James resigned himself to a walk around the house in solemn depression. He was beginning to feel depressed about the entire debacle around his child though he looked confident earlier in the day when in Kaori's presence. When he walked into Yui's room and saw all her dearest posessions, it made him even more depressed. He would pick some of them up and examine them before looking at the letters that Yui had on her desk from her secret admirer. James put these in his pocket before walking out of the room to find Kaori. He shoved the letters into her hands and smiled. "I think these documents may assist us. We should send these in to the investigation immediately!"
James felt more confident. "These could give us a lead, perhaps, in the case and hopefully we will find out who has taken our child."

"It's now Day 5 into the investigation of Yui Oda and still police have no hot leads. But now a developing story is being uncovered, a source is reporting to various news medias including Daily World News Magazine the leading tabloid magazine in Motokata that Yui may have been born out of wedlock. There are a few contradictory sources stating diffrent things however. Some are now stating Madam Oda could have been pregnant but the article in Daily is reporting that Oda had a one night stand with who is now her husband. The former ambassador to Myakka first met Oda when Motokata and Myakka opend up formal relations with each other. Now sources are saying that Oda may have had a sexual relationship with him. While we can't confirm this story, we can't deny it. Oda was married about a year-and-a-half after she held the famous confrence to open relations with Myakka. And now the Motokatan Colaition of Moral Order is demanding an internal investigation."
Kaori was watching the TV shocked by the news story.
"There are still even more questions arising, did Oda have an affair while she was married still? Did this happen after, no one seems to have one version of the story to tell."
"How the hell did they find this out?" It's true Kaori did have a romantic relationship with her husband before she was wedded but Yui was her first born from her former husband who died long before this.
"Kira, would you take the children outback to play, I don't want them to see this."
"Yes ma'am."
"James!? Take a look at this."
James studied the papers that Kaori handed him and was shocked. "Who could have written such horrible things? I am sure many people will, unfortunately, consider these falsehoods to be true but....who could have written it? Where did they get the information?"
James sighed. "Kaori...have you ever mentioned anything to people or around them?"

"I don't know, anyone could have figured out this story, anyone. Damn it!" She kicked over a folding chair.
James rushed to comfort Kaori. "We will have to investigate this but the finding of Yui must be our priority and she must be returned to us. I just hope that we will find her alive...I can only hope."
James kissed Kaori tenderly and smiled. "Don't let the lies get to you, dear. Don't let the slander consume you. I'm here for you and so are all our family friends."

Kaori let her self get in the warm embrace of James. "Madam, Ms. Kamio to see you."
"Asuka?"
A tearful Asuka ran in. "It's my fault, it's all my fault you haven''t found her now."
"Calm down, honey, what is it?"
"Yui had secret notes. We thought nothing of them, but now we know they came from her teacher. The day before she disappeared, she seemed very upset about something. She didn't say what and I-I can't be sure, but she was very unhappy. I think something may have happened, like I don't know. A best friend's intuition. I should have said something, I should have pressed her."
"No no, honey it's okay. What's important now is that you tell us everything you can remember about the last few days with Yui."
"Okay. Okay, here is what I remember...." Asuka told what she could remember.
Bumped!
No one wants to join this? Damn.....
"Okay. Okay, here is what I remember...." Asuka told what she could remember.
Listening to what Asuka had to say made James feel saddened but at least happy in that he knew more about Yui's problems in school which he immediately linked to her disapperance. As soon as Asuka had finished speaking about the incidents involving his child, James looked at Kaori and smiled. "We must get all this information to the police and hopefully they can use it in their investigations."
He then smiled at Asuka. "Thank you for coming to us, Asuka. Thank you very much."

"And Yui is lucky for it. You go on home sweetheart, do you want me to call your parents?"
"No I'm fine thanks."
After that the information was relaid the Police and they began their first course of action. "Police, we have a warrant to search the house." With no answer they broke the door open. The house was empty, torn up in what looks like a frantic rush. Most items were left but many things like food and cloths were missing.
At the school the detectives were trying to figure the whereabouts.
"He hasn't been into work in a while now. We have been wondering."
"Did he say he was leaving to anywhere?"
"No, nowhere. The last time we heard he said he had an emergency matter to take care of. That's what I recall."
"Thanks." The detective called his phone. "What did you find?"
"Well he has a few weapons, quite the stash of Porn, and sexual stimulate controls."
"Does he have a molestation record?"
"Not in Motokata."
"Okay, I want you to run through various international crime databases, see if he has a record. He may just be our man."

Metropolitan Police General Central General Offices, Stevid Capita
Chief of Police Sir Michael Ames Stuart was one of those old war horses that everybody loved to hate and yet could bring themselves to actually say it. It was good at his job, proud of his job and everybody from the lowly Community Support Officers to the Chief Inspectors across the country knew he was the best man in the Police business. Top class figurehead for the force and him in charge made the ‘thin blue line’ in Stevid a bloody great thick one. Typical police red tape procedures had been slashed when he took charge of the nation’s overall police workings at the General Offices and most paperwork was handled by civilians allowing more bobbies on the beat to serve the public. Spending had been slashed in non-essential area to fund several struggling forces directly, police officer recruitment was on the rise and the standard patrol cars were becoming ever more powerful what with extra government funding every year or so. He also rewrote the vocabulary book for the Police, before it was supposed to be less authoritive and more passive towards the public- it was supposed to be called the ‘Police Service’ not ‘Police Force’ because force carried negative connotations. Likewise with constabulary, complex wording and harsh pronunciations gave the police rough edge. This was what the Chief of Police wanted, a police force that was feared and ultimately respected by not only the public bit by the world. Sir Stuart was simply the best thing that had ever happened to the Stevidian Police Force.
He walked down a busy corridor towards his office overlooking the fortress city of Stevid Capita with a sergeant following behind him clutching a folder of papers with a notable fax copy on the top. She was struggling to keep up with his stride in the bustling corridor that was filled with police officers and ‘pencil pushing’ staff, the cogs in the vast anti-crime machine that kept crime down and the country stable and away from anarchy.
“Sir, please reconsider!” She continued after further pleas with the Chief of Police. “The implications could be great for our international rapport with the other police forces around the globe particularly those involved in this case.”
“The answer is no Wendy, I don’t see why they call upon other forces, foreign ones at that, to do all their leg work. It strikes me as a way for them to sit back and relax- I’m sure they don’t even care.”
“I’m sure they do!”
“I’m sure you think they do Wendy.”
“I know I’m sure they do sir! It is a missing girl after all, who wouldn’t care?”
“I could name a few people Wendy.” Sir Stuart sighed as his paced slowed a tad to allow her to catch up a little before continuing to stride onwards. “They’re all in prison mind but I could list several off the top of my head.”
“But she’s been abducted and no one has a clue where she is!”
“Girls get kidnapped all the time, why is this one so important, eh? More importantly why is she important to us?”
“Sir if you’d let me…”
“I really don’t have time for this Sergeant!” He said waving a hand at her. “You know full well that this is probably a case of an estranged man, or woman, who has an unnatural fetish for young girls or parenting and grabbed a vulnerable girl while she was on her own. At worst it is a case of paedophilia, dreadful as it is but let’s face it- by now she could be anywhere and the bloke or lady who’s pinched her is not stupid enough to let her out into broad daylight in eyeshot of anyone in the know, okay?”
“But this case is different!”
“They’re all different Wendy.” He replied sarcastically which made the Sergeant fume even more. She’s trap him in the lift though, his office was several floors up and at sixty odd years old she knew he couldn’t manage several hundred steps. He knew it too and he also knew that Wendy being in her mid-thirties allowed her to be more energetic and push a point beyond what you would call ‘welcome’. Sir Stuart was getting sick of this.
“This little girl is not just any little girl, she’s important!” Wendy continued with renewed hope. ‘God knows where she gets the enthusiasm’ Stuart thought. He knew he’d have to at least half consider the fax and the case for her to even begin thinking about leaving him alone.
“Important to the family? Maybe. Important to me or important enough for the nation to be concerned with? Definitely not. It’s not just government money that pays the force you know Wendy, the working taxpayer is the primary source of economic growth for this country and we need to give them justifiable reasons for sending our men and women abroad to track down a missing girl!”
“She’s the daughter of the head of state of Motokata.” The sergeant said abruptly. The Chief of Police stopped in his tracks. Yes! She’s got his attention. “They’ve called for international support to help find her, she could be anywhere-granted. But this might not be a standard kidnapping for disgusting sexual reasons, this could be a political thing.”
Sir Stuart cocked his head and half turned his head to look at Wendy. He considered for half a moment before he continued walking, albeit at a slower pace.
“It is of no consequence. If what you say is true then it is an internal affair of Motokata and not a concern of Stevid. The man or woman involved in this is highly unlikely to have a grudge against us or actually be Stevidian and even then it is still and internal affair of Motokata. We shall have no part in this at all.”
“It is our morale duty sir! A kidnapped girl is lost somewhere and another police force pleading for help. The want their country’s daughter back and what better message could we send to the world than voice our support and actually divert resources to help find her!”
“It’s our duty only in principle and in logical practice. Our principles say we help but otherwise you have no reasons to convince me to send men there to help.”
“The government extends international aid to help countries in dire need. The Navy and Army extend their services to help the needy. Are we any different sir? We have policemen in several airports across the world namely in Independent Hitmen and in our Imperial countries like Adaptus Astrates and Kurona.”
“Only because they are allies, some of our closest thus our forces of law and order must cooperate to succeed in certain matters. Motokata is not a big friend of Stevid and our countries are not really acquainted. We are the police… not the government.”
Wendy was taken aback a bit and stopped in her tracks ready to concede defeat while the Chief of Police continued to the lift and pressed the call button. But then she found renewed hope and bolted for the lift before the Chief had time to relax.
“Our government has a new policy of talking to other countries more often now. They have seen the fax we received too, MI6 will have briefly looked into it and MI5 will have scanned for a few likely girls that match the description and yet you have not even considered it. Helping this country find their missing girl will be perfect for our strengthening international relationships with other countries…”
“What are you Wendy, a police officer or a fucking diplomat?” Sir Stuart was growing more and more agitated now, and to think he was probably going to share a lift with this woman! He prayed it would be empty and his heart sank low when a perfectly clean and very empty lift appeared on the other side of the sliding doors.
“Senior Staff Offices please.” He said to the voice command in the lift. An electronic female repeated the command and the lift started moving. He turned back to Wendy. “You can’t be both you know. Not only that but I pay you to be a police officer.”
“I understand completely sir but this is serious. You want us to be the best police force in the world…”
“I don’t want us to baby sit the world’s police forces that can’t keep track of their national leader’s own bloody thirteen year old child Wendy!”
Wendy’s face slumped with sadness as they exited the lift and took one of the first doors out of the lift into his own office where he sat down but Wendy remained standing. She was almost on the brink of tears. “I didn’t think you were so cold hearted…”
“I didn’t get to where I am today by being nice Sergeant. I understand this must be difficult for you to let go off, I know you are a mother and new to the whole thing too and so I know how protective you must be of your children. I also know this rubs off on you when other missing children are concerned.”
“What if he or she brought the girl to this country?”
“Unlikely.” Sir Stuart said bluntly with a tone that sounded bored.
“Would you want to take that risk sir?” She asked and remarkably got a physical response as he raised an eyelid but continued to avoid eye contact. “At least tell them that we’ll cooperate with them enough to eliminate our country from their current investigations. It may turn out that you want to pursue the case afterwards and if it turns out she is here…”
“Which she isn’t” He interrupted.
“But if she is then it becomes very much our concern.”.
Sir Stuart sighed with defeat and a dash of resentment. He hated crime and he hated kidnappers whether or not they were paedophiles, environmentalist morons, political nut heads or general crazy folk, kidnapping was still illegal and just a less glorious way of taking hostages and using it to get something in return. Sex, money, power and he’s rather not have a bloody foreigner doing it on his bloody watch in his bloody country.
“All right then. Inform the Motokata authorities we will help them and conduct our own lines of enquiry. I want us to liaise with MI5 first just to get a brief run down on whether or not the girl’s description matches any that we have received from immigration within the past week- although we can’t rule out that the kidnapper has taken precautions to mask her physical identity and much as possible. Then get MI6 on the line and get them talking with their secret service. I’m sure they can combine their efforts.”
“Aye sir!” Wendy said with a broad smile and watery eyes.
“This is your case Wendy, you’re in charge. Give your assignments to another man in your department who hasn’t got much to do while you gather a thirty man team including police officers and members of CID to travel with you to Motokata. But most importantly, tell those boys over their in this foreign land that we are on our way to help…. Dismissed Sergeant.”

ooc this moves slow like a snail
(ooc: I do apologize, I've been rather busy lately and haven't had a lot of time to get on. I won't hate you if you decide to leave the thread)
Kaori looked out the window with yearning in her eyes. She longed for her baby to be back and safe in her arms. "Yui....Where are you?"
The news was blaring with the constant coverage and controversies surrounding this case, half were calling Kaori a slut who fostered an illegitimate child, the other half were either attacking Kaori for her lack of responsibility or potraying her and her family as the great tragic figures of the century.
"Motokatan Police are swamped with tips, dead end leads, and motive. No hard suspects, no leads still...."
"Kaori...." The voice belonged to State Exec Sec. Otani.
"Ko, don't you ever sleep?"
"What about you dear?"
"How can I?"
"Can you belive the press?"
"I know, it's all trash. Some how my racy picture for my husband has leaked to all the Christian Fundies, and now evidently Yui and I are eternally damned. Our police are swamped with everything about this case."
"Well, apparently another task force from Stevid has agreed. More eyes searching for Yui."
"I appreciate it. Give them the usual response, equipment and such."
"Already working. Perhaps you want to meet with them."
"For all I know this may NOT be politically motivated. This could be some sicko pedophile who chose to score the ultimate prize. My daughter. Once these task force discovers this, they'll go home. Once they find out it wasn't a terrorist insurgence group, it wasn't my rivals, it wasn't a drug cartell."
"Now Kaori, we still don't have any knowled on who or why?"
"Ko, wake up and face it, no ransom demands have been made, no body parts have been sent, no statements have been made, if Yui is alive...." Kaori began wheeping again. "If she's alive, she's in living hell now.....I just want her back."
Ko hugged her. "Hey, hey. Settle down now."
"You've always been my best friend, since I took office."
He gave her a kiss on her cheek. "I wish I could say it's going to be all right. I know, everyone is working around the clock on Yui."
"She's my baby. I want her back."
"We all do. Your husband, your children, the state."
----------------------------------------------------------
When the task force from Stevid arrived Otani sat down with the leader.
"I'm going to be frank right now, we don't know that this is a political kidnapping. No ransom demands have been made, no statements have been made. Our cops are swamped, every detective is either driving themselves to ulcers or madness with this. Madam Oda is a wreck right now, and the husband isn't much better. She's sick with grief, and frankly she needs a goddamn resolution soon. Look if you want to stay, we'll pay you handsomely, if you don't, well if you can take a promise from a politician, you'll be sent home, and we won't bother each other again."

ooc beats one of those threads where every thing move fast
Oh you going to send any one to talk to my lot
(sure, you can add your self to the meeting with Stevid, I can edit my post)
The question of who kidnapped Yui plagued James' mind as he paced around the confines of his family's house with the question replaying itself over and over again in his mind as if to torture him since he was unable to come up with any solid answers. He had more problems when it came to the media that began labelling his wife and daughter as lost souls and somehow the special picture he recieved from his beloved Kaori was published in the news. He hated those people; hated them nearly as much as he did the unknown kidnapper who took his child. This whole dreadful affair was, to him, very unexpected. He never expected to walk into his daughter's bedroom and see no one sleeping on the bed or sorting out their various trinkets or surfing the internet or watching some of their favorite animated films. He would, at times, listen to Yui's music box while fondling the charm bracelet she would wear and whenever he did this, it made him feel depressed. He felt like he was being tortured by mysterious, invisible, and corrupt forces beyond his control. At times he even watched one of the films she liked; remembering when she would spend a lot of time pointing out various things to him about certain characters and the like. James would just sit there and smile; even ask some questions about the story of the movie. On this night, he listened to the music box again before walking to the family room to find Otani and Kaori.
"Otani, it's nice to see you again. Have you come to give us any information about the case?"
James looked quite emotionless as he spoke to Otani; usually he would have been quite outgoing like a jolly Santa Claus one brings their kids to every Christmas season but now he felt like he had been hollowed out with the outgoingness scooped right out of him like ice cream from a bucket. "I was just contemplating things but I'm more than willing to hear what you have to say; we need all the information we can get."
James looked at Kaori and smiled. "I am, I must say, rather annoyed with the lies the media is telling the masses about Kaori but, then again, it is rather a bitter truth of life that people seek to take advantage of the suffering and generosity of others. However, I shall hope that truth will prevail."
His cold and stoic eyes returned to Otani's face. "Otani...you've been a good friend of this family and I must compliment you for your work in helping us with this tragedy that was, to me at least, unexpected. Thank you for your dedication."

"Well James, so far we don't have any solid suspects. We may have a guy we're interested in but we still aren't entirely sure. Yui is like my own daughter, I love her, like that. Look you two, get some rest, turn of the TV for a while take a nice family outing with the rest of your children, get away from the chaos for a while. Let us keep doing the work. I'll see you both later."
Kaori and Jame's embraced again. Kaori felt for some reason to try to make some bit of light now. "I still have that cross. The one I placed in my breasts like that. I still have it." She let out some nervous laughter. "God....It's media circus. No, Ko is right, we need to take our minds off it, especially the children."
She kissed him. "If you weren't here with me, I don't think I could make it through this."
-------------------------------
In a command post with the Imperial snipers who came to help two lead detectives and Otani were there to help.
"Right now, we are trying to look in the usual places that we often find abducted. Barns, night clubs, slave shops in the city. We're swamped combing this country, we're getting a thousand tips an hour and we can't process through them all. We need all the help we can get, that's why you guys are here. To be our extra pair of eyes and ears. You have full authority of Law Enforcement and are free to use any means. We want our perpetrator alive if possible."
"I must say that I would be interested in learning more about this man who you are interested in, Otani. As for your ideas, I think Kaori and I can take the children out for a family outing while chaos reigns around us. Thank you again for your work, Otani, and hopefully we shall find the man and, if Fortune wills, our child....safe and sound."
Once Otani had left, James felt his wife's dainty and soft hands embrace his muscular frame and he held her tightly with his rugged but smooth hands while looking into her eyes. He looked down to see the cross necklace she wore in that picture on her neck and it made him remember their most recent night of passion. "I see you are even wearing it too. Kaori...we should try to hold out hope for the discovery of our Yui even if we take our minds off it. I am sure we can manage that."
James gave Kaori a tender kiss along with a little pinch or two on her bottom. "We can get through this, my love...we can get through the lies of the media and the sins of the wicked."

"Sleep well, my love." The following day they packed up and left the city to the country. Kaori was greeted instantly by her mother with a big hug. "Your children are growing so fast. Hello James, you look well."
"You've seen the news, I'm sure of it Mama."
"I've red the papers and got your letter alright. Come in, sit."
"James, my boy." Kaori's father said. The children all swarmed into a hug for their grandfather. Let's let the women have a conversation, we can have our own man-to-man talk about this whole thing. Hey kids, we have a few new horses. Go talk to your Uncle Kaji, he'll get you set up."
James always felt happy whenever he went to see Kaori's parents at their old fashioned farm deep in the countryside where they could avoid the urban chaos that plagued their beloved child and her devoted husband. Dressed in simple but still decent clothes, James affectionately greeted her parents as if they were his own parents. "It's always a pleasure to meet you, Mister and Mrs. Oda. I was sure you two did hear of the news about Kaori...such horrid lies that people can produce really makes you think whether or not we are in some forsaken rock in the universe...."
James took his leave and went with Mr. Oda so they could talk alone about the whole issue with Yui. "Mr. Oda....I know you've heard about the whole thing with Yui. It's really saddening to me....I can't even believe that it has happened. I never thought I would be in this situation. Sure, I've heard about other families losing their children but I never....I never thought I would be like them...that I would wake up one day and never hear that child's voice...."

the group pulled the cocking handles on their rilfed when this was said clearly showing a disliking to the idea
"We don't have a solid lock on these. Despite our efforts to suppress them, more keep cropping up. We raided two about a month ago, it was full of 13 year old girls from across the border. We've been eye a strange facility for a while now, the owner has usually been two steps ahead of us. Perhaps you can finally bring it down, it's in the Slum part of town, we call it the Net slum because of the pornographic videos that have been cropping up on the net lately. We have no guarantee Yui is there, and we aren't asking you to do our work for us, but the more of these Slum shops we can raid, the more buildings we can raid, the fewer places this kidnapper will have to hide."

"I know. I know....I didn't lose any of my wonderful children. Many of them are still with us, and we have a few more. Well son, it's important to be a man, Kaori needs you now. That was her baby, Yui was her life. Yui was a lovely child, I hope and pray every night she's okay. Keep her alive in your heart son. And keep your other children close. Kaori may want to bury her self in farm work here, she'll be fine for now."

James smiled. "I always have tried to be there for Kaori as all men should when their wives are calling for them and I always try to keep Yui in my heart and I pray for her survival but yet whenever I think of her...I sometimes feel my spirit sink to near rock bottom but yet I always seem to raise myself up from there and be who you always know me to be. If Kaori wants to bury herself in farm work here then she can do that....I just hope she does remain fine...I don't want to see her sad."

"When Kaori is at work she's content. It still baffles me as to why she left the farm, she was a natural at it."
Later that evening the wind began gusting clouds moved over the stars. The children turned in early from the long trip. Kaori was instantly reassumlating into her farm life. She dawned a pair of plain blue overalls and stood outside anticipating the storm. Her heart felt stormy. James came out to her. "You see this. A storm is blowing in. It's going to be a big one tonight, I can sense it." She said deeply gazing at the dark sky. Lightning was already streaking down from the sky with claps of thunder. James pulled Kaori close as if they were both frightened children.
"Your father did mention that you may dedicate time to farm work.....and yes, I can see that a good storm is brewing and we should make sure we are both inside when it begins. We wouldn't want to catch a cold or anything, now would we? Are you finished with your work? Would you like to come in and rest? Everyone else is asleep except for us."

He pulled out a map. "This is our hot spot. We've been eying it for a while now as I said. We advise to take this main route and block off these back ally routes. Be mindful of the young children locked away in this facility. You'll have our backup."

"I guess I can." Thunder crashed as the wind continued to pick up. Kaori lead James into the Bathhouse.

James smiled. "Kaori...you should try to be more joyful. We cannot let the children learn to be nothing more than hollow shells if they see you acting like one."
As he spoke to Kaori, James remembered more of the memories he had of his time with Yui and how much she seemed to be filled with joy and happiness that made anyone around her simply smile. James would remember the arts and crafts they made together whenever she wasn't at school and how he would take part in the tea parties she asked him to attend; remembering how he donned himself as Sir James and how he'd always bow and make himself look like a Victorian gentleman stuck in the 21st century but at least it did make Yui happy to see her father was really into spending time with her instead of being distant. At one time, James brought Yui to work with him and he told her about all the stuff he did when he was there. Nothing was more pleasing to James then to see his children happy and to see that Yui was gone, that she had suddenly vanished, that she was not there to make more arts and crafts or sleep in her bed or even talk to him made him saddened. It made him contemplate things he only would have contemplated about the children of other families....that his beloved daughter was now a corpse. Such a thought horrified him but, then again, it was entirely possible but he still shoved it out of his mind. "Kaori......"
James looked at his wife and held her hand tightly as they walked together back to the house as the storm continued to brew above them without any concern for what was happening in their lives. Once inside, James heard the rain begin to fall and smiled. "We got inside just in time. Let's go rest or something, Kaori....and think of pleasant things."

"Why did you ask me that, Kaori? You know I will help you. You should remember that I will always be there to help you no matter what happens."
Thunder crashed as Kaori paused for a moment sitting with her husband in the Bath House. She poured the bucket of water on her washing the soap off. "Your right, of course you will always help me, that's why I love you so much."
James remembered when he first met Kaori Oda during their first meeting when he was nothing more than the Ambassador of the Myakkan Empire to the humble state of Motokata which he felt was a rather nice and good place to visit. His notebook was filled with all sorts of note about the land and its leader whose beauty first made its mark upon James through his notebook entries which he would read from time to time. It was shocking to him that Kaori slipped him her personal information but he didn't have any problems calling her up and going on dates with the leader of the land. He made love to her as well and she even made him that special picture which somehow got to the Christian fundamentalists. That picture of her naked in the stable where they made sweet love that one special night always made him happy and, when Kaori was not around, he'd satisfy himself by simply gazing upon it with pleasure. Being next to his naked wife did tempt him to attempt to pursue carnal relations but he didn't think she was in the mood; she was probably focused on the whole Yui affair and thus probably did not want to have him working himself over her at this time. He did, however, put his hand on her thigh and smiled before he decided to get out of the bath and wash himself up before he put on his pajamas. His mind, he had to admit, was focused on Yui and his love of seeing Kaori naked. Sure, he wasn't addicted to sex but he did love to see her like that. He helped her dry off and then walked with her to the bedroom where he jumped onto the bed and reclined without a care and with a smile that suggested Kaori should come over and lie with him. Eventually he got under the covers with Kaori and smiled. "Before we go to sleep, Kaori...perhaps we should pray for Yui....hopefully someone hears and answers."

-----------------------
Somewhere in Stevid
Yui, the poor little girl was battered bruised and sadistically being tormented physically and sexually. She was strapped to a chair, her hands were nailed to the chair by a nail gun. She was nude, all her cloths had been stripped and destroyed. Her mouth had a strip of duct tape over it. She wanted to escape and run, it was now or never. She yanked her hand out and let out a scream muffled by the tape. And out the other hand, besides that she was virtually unrestrained. She removed the tape and ran up the stairs and out of wherever the hell she was. It was night, it was cold and somewhat drizzely. As the headlights of a car approached she flaged the car down for help, but it wasn't a welcome face, it was her assaliant.
"What the hell? How did you get out." Yui began stumbling in the other direction with hopes of escape but he quickly caught her and had his way with her once more. "My dear, you died for nothing. No one is looking for you, no one cares." Yui wasn't fully dead yet, she could hear his awful words. At last one more silenced gunshot rang killing Yui. "Well I have no more use for you." He stuffed her into the trunk of his car and speed off.
He dumped the body into a creek and just incase he tried to make her look like a hooker. Yui wasn't a citizen of Stevid, it would be ages before they could identify her, plus he was trying his hardest to make her look like some sorry prostotuite who brought this misfortune on her self. No one would care.
James woke up quietly the next morning to see his wife still sleeping on the bed while he changed his clothes and went to see if breakfast was being prepared. The case of his missing stepdaughter was still on his mind as it had always been and he was tormented by visions of what was possibly happening to her wherever the kidnapper had taken her and these visions ranged from the typical experiences of kidnapped children like Yui to repugnant sadistic experiences that made him feel like killing someone with his bare hands. It was as if he was being made to watch Yui suffer within the confines of his own mind; although he wasn't being made to literally watch, it still felt horrid in his eyes to the point that he shoved it all out and replaced it with remembrances of his nights of passion with Kaori. It was as if sex would distract him from the torment. When breakfast was ready, he ate rather quickly with some bits of conversation with others before he walked outside for some fresh air and contemplation. He sat on the steps of the old farmhouse and just sighed in sadness while trying to focus on his bedtime antics rather than what could be happening to his stepdaughter since he could not bear to think about it anymore. It was like an invisible force was torturing him.

"Well get what we can. I hope every day Yui is alive, but I need to grasp the concept that she could be dead. If she's dead than she shall be given a burieal as I want. As her natural father would have wanted. I';m going to tend to the cattle, I don't feel much like eating." She kissed her husband before leaving. A memory of James with Yui came in.

"You know, I know you aren't my real father, my real father is gone. But even so, your still my daddy and I love you!" Yui said with glee to James. "So you don't have to worry about it, daddy. Okay?"

James felt depression come over him as he relived the memory of his stepdaughter's reassurance of her love for him despite not being his natural child which made him happy then but saddened here. To James, this whole case seemed to prove the depravity of Man. Was Calvin right? He had a light snack before going for a walk in order to contemplate life. He could only hope for his child's return.....that she would return alive to him.
Cranford Town, Stevid, 02:15
What was once a dark muddy ditch remained a muddy ditch only the darkness of the dead early morning was replaced flickering blues lights. There were at least three police cars accompanied by a paramedic’s car and an ambulance and all had arrived about fifteen minutes ago. The road leading into the centre of Cranford on this Friday night was now closed and the drunkards and party goers had to find another way to the night life in the town. A stag party of twenty years, half drunk, had stumbled across a large lump of tyres or something in the ditch and being the drunken fools they were, tried the heave the pile of rubber into the road. It turned out that this dark mound was in fact a very small girl, not too young to walk the streets for ‘business’ but young enough for any sort of sexual or drinking activity to be illegal. The party of men were not too drunk to realise the body was lifeless and had immediately summoned all their self control to become sober for the few minutes they needed to phone for the police.
The police were first to arrive with the paramedics who pronounced her dead at the scene. Soon after that another car, an unmarked police vehicle, arrived with members of CID (Criminal Investigation Department) and other Detectives to asses the scene. The ambulance arrived next with more medical minds to help shed some light on the possible causes of death. There were no sirens, they weren’t needed especially for a tragic case such as this and sadly it happened all too often in Stevid despite the very high police presence in the country and the Empire on the whole.
“What do we have here constable?” Detective Wainright of Cranford’s CID department who stepped out of his unmarked police car.
“Some lads stumbled across this young lass here while on their way into town for a stag do. If they had been sober they might have just glanced at what they described as a mound of old abandoned tyres, but being half drunk they decided to fool around and then realised it was a young girl… dead of course.” Replied the police officer dressed in his florescent yellow high visibility jacket.
“Cause of death been determined yet?”
“Oh yes sir, one gun shot wound to the back. Most definitely a murder enquiry. Also judging by the way she is dressed she is also a ‘lady of night’.”
“A whore? Not another dead one surely?”
“I am afraid so sir. A forensics team are already combing the area but have found no evidence of a shot being fired around here. No bullet cartridges, no obvious signs gunshot residue in the surrounding area which leads us to believe, for the moment anyway, that the murder did not take place here. Also they say the blood on her jacket is dry in places but still rather damp around the initial wound so the murder has occurred within the last hour or so.”
Detective Wainright raised his eyebrows but quickly frowned again as it began to start raining. “Curse this bloody weather. What was she wearing officer?”
“Oh the usual sir, stilettos, black tights, very short and skimpy jean skirt, very revealing top and a jacket for warmth one must say.”
“Well she certainly fits the bill for a prostitute but that’s what some girls wear these days for ‘casual’ nights out. I won’t rule out the fact that this girl might not have been a hooker, this is a murder enquiry after all. Also it strikes me as odd seeing as this isn’t a traditional area for hookers to look for work, in fact barely anything happens down here, worst is that the murder certainly didn’t happen here anyway… The ambulance is still here?”
“Aye sir. They are collecting a blood sample now.”
“Good, the great thing about this post modern medical technology is we can find answers quickly. Tell them to immediately check are DNA with the national database and also get forensics to cross reference the face of the girl with the criminal and public databases. We’ll find out who she is very quickly.” The detective smiled, the old days of waiting for DNA tests for a few days were long gone, now days most Stevidian ambulances carried a computer that had a wireless uplink with the national medical database for the whole Empire. The scanning equipment and analytical equipment was so modern that DNA could be broken down into code in just a few minutes and checked against the database. He smiled to himself, a quick check on who she was would end the case quickly because finding the killer would be difficult until a post mortem was completed. DNA of the attacker would be picked up then quite easily. These days crimes like this could be solved in a few days or even, if one was having a really lucky night, a few hours… assuming they were on the databases at all.
* * *
Twenty minutes past and the results came back to the ambulance crew.
“She ain’t on the medical database mate!” Yelled a doctor from the back of the ambulance.
“What!” Cried Wainright. “Check again!”
“I did, that’s why it took twenty minutes! She’s not on the database!”
This wasn’t unusual to come across. Wainright was annoyed by this because it was national law for you to be on the database unless you were a foreigner or had good reason not to be on it. It helps the police eliminate people from enquiries much quicker than asking people to donate blood for DNA registration. They now worked on the principle that if you’re innocent then you’ve nothing to hide and since everyone is innocent until prove guilty then everyone should hand in their DNA. Criminals were ready on the register so they didn’t have to. The results were amazing when nearly three hundred crimes were solved almost over night because of the DNA capture. But some people evaded it and unless this girl was foreign then she too had evaded the DNA register. However a facial recognition system in the forensics van would know if she was foreign or not. No one could escape this one, everyday people are caught on CCTV cameras that instantly check who you are on the both the criminal (if you are one) and the public databases. If you’re not on the police arrest you and force you to give your details. Unless this girl had spent her whole life in doors since she was born then she’d pop up… and she did but with some strange results.
“Detective! We have her! But there are some minor problems.”
“Like what exactly?”
“She is definitely foreign because she’s not on our database and the only pictures were have of her are very grainy. We’ve clean up the images and the computer positively ID her as the same girl but we have no information on her name or nationality. She wasn’t smuggled into the country and looks as if she’s on a bloke’s passport or something, in either case it checks out. She’s legal and probably not a prostitute, these pictures were taken in Portsmouth in the south only a few days ago.”
“Who’s the man?”
“Foreign as well, no ID and the computer has no idea. I’ve logged him in the database but we need a better picture to formally ID the guy. But he doesn’t look like the father so he may be the girl’s guardian…”
“Or the killer. Shit, things just got complicated. Right I want immigration control on the phone ASAP and logs belonging to that passport office in Portsmouth. Cross reference the passport photos admitted and find out who this guy is. Also get that corpse to the morgue as quickly as possible, I want an autopsy completed tonight and DNA results on my desk by 6:45. Get CCTV imagery up of this entire road and of surrounding main roads leading to this one. I know there are no cameras here but we may get picture of a car entering and then leaving this main road, compare the time it takes and register the number plate… Also get in touch with the General Police Headquarters in Stevid Capita and tell them we have a dead foreign girl in our morgue, they can put out a warning to all nations looking for a missing girl to claim her body to avoid a diplomatic incident.”
There was a series of yes sirs and they all got to work.
* * *
Cranford General Hospital, 05:02
“What do we have then?” Wainright said as he was led into the morgue by doctor who completed the autopsy.
“This girl has been physically abused in a great manner of ways. Short of utterly disgusting it makes your imagination run away from you. Bruising to the head, neck, chest, back, thighs, legs, arms and wrists. Ankles surprisingly untouched given the fact the rest of her is in such bad shape. Definitely not self-inflicted and most of the wounds are not recent, the most recent ones are few but there doesn’t seem to be signs of struggle.”
“So she could’ve been unconscious then?”
“More likely that she lost the will to fight on judging for the previous wounds. By the time of her death she probably welcomed it… and who can blame her… there are obvious signs of sexual activity. More worryingly is that it has occurred numerous times. I’ve performed autopsies on lots of prostitutes but this takes the piss, but it gets better. There are obvious signs of struggle here regarding sex. Just ask yourself detective: What sort of prostitute struggles against someone having sex with them? And don’t suggest that it was because it was ‘business’ taken a little step further, I can find no sign that this girl ever had consented sex… apart from some intercourse that took place before her death, but like I said she was in no physical state to resist.”
“Was it the same man though?” Asked the detective who was still grimacing at the battered naked body of the very young girl.
“Most definitely detective. This girl is not a prostitute, without a shadow of a doubt. This is rape, by a single child molester each time. Signs of sadistic ritual where her wrists were nailed to something, I think with desperation she tore herself from the nails by sheer will power alone.”
Wainright was horrified. “Nailed? By God’s word if she was nailed to a cross I will have to be put into confinement myself to prevent myself from killing this heretical man! So she tried to escape then?”
“So it would seem but the shock of nearly severing her wrists drained of will power but also of blood… she would not have survived.”
“So perhaps he put her out of her misery by shooting her then?”
“Oh no, he still found time to rape her one last time. I think that ordeal might’ve last at least ten minutes. Also regarding the shooting, there is a not a lot of gunshot residue so I believe that a silenced 45mm handgun may have been used to kill the girl.”
“Anything else?”
“He shagged her a lot and never used protection, if he did then it didn’t work very well. Let’s just say we recovered a lot of the fellow’s DNA… he’s infertile-ish. I’m going to go over her one more time to see whether or not she became pregnant in after all this. We sent the DNA to the Police General Offices in the capital and also to your desk… any lead on the CCTV stuff?”
“Yes and no.” Wainright sighed wearily, he hadn’t slept in hours, he’d been dragged out of bed for this incident and it was becoming more and more long-winded as the morning drew on. “We saw a car driving down the end of the A610 Cranford Road. The car was a small hatchback and the number plate is clearly visible however we traced the plate to a car that is actually parked out side a couple’s house in Stratford.”
“That nearly one hundreds miles North of here!”
“And the number plate is copied off their £70,000 luxury saloon car… doesn’t sound like our hatchback does it?”
“Fake plates… discovered where it was headed?”
“We’re still tracing it but it’ll only take to lunchtime, we’ve more security cameras in Stevid than we do pencils probably, it’s difficult not to be caught on one and there are at least two on every main road in the country. We’ll find his car… and we’ll find him. And so help me he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison.”

The e-mail had arrived to Ko's computer in no time, his stomach knotted up judging by the female's description it was very likely Yui. He had no choice but to find Kaori and inform her that she and her husband would have to fly down to Stevid and likely see their daughter for the last time, dead.
TO: Stevid Metro Police
StevidPD@royalsearch.svd
From: Secretary of State Ko Otani
Otani@exc.mtk
Dear Sirs, or Madams,
Upon receiving your e-mail notification, we have a strong feeling that the body you have recovered may be the State Holder's daughter Yui Sanae Oda, who was abducted by a still unknown assailant. As such, I will inform her mother and father Kaori and James Oda to fly out to Stevid to potentially identify. If for some reason this does not file out to be Yui Oda, Motokata will reimburse your government for all the expenses.
Thank you,
Sec. Of State Otani.
And Ko drove like mad to find Kaori, he knew she would be at her old family farm because he told Kaori to get away from the chaos of the media.
"Ko, what brings you all the way here?"
"I've got some potentially bad news. Stevid police found a body, and it potentially matches Yui's description."
"My God...."
"Stevid needs you to fly out to identify her."
"I best do it. If it's Yui, then we will say our goodbyes." Kaori had to fight back tears and take it like a woman. "And I will thank Stevid for their help in finding her...." She couldn't control it anymore, she started sobbing.
It wasn't long before they hopped onto a plane for Stevid. Kaori wasn't crying as much now, she had been all night. James still silently hopped it wouldn't be her but it would be someone else. Not that James wished ill on anyone else, he would say a prayer for the departed regardless.
It wasn't a pretty sight as they had been warned by Stevidan police and it wasn't. Kaori took a solid look at her baby lying there motionless. "Yes. Yes it's her. It's Yui....It's my girl."
OOC: James took Kaori's surname? I thought it's supposed to be the other way around. :p
James had been quietly looking over some notes that he had written down over the last few days in the room cordoned off as his personal chambers where he could relax and contemplate the world around him without being disturbed. It was where he usually happened to be with nothing but his notes and family portraits along with some old books that he saved from Myakka long before the Revolution. In his notebook, James wrote down plenty of information concerning the case of his missing daughter and some poetry in the Alexandrine style in which he reflected upon the sorrow that consumed him. When he had been told about the discovery of a girl's corpse in Stevid that resembled Yui, he began to feel the sorrow overwhelm his entire mental system but yet remained calm and collected as if nothing was wrong with him. He got aboard the plane for Stevid with his wife and contemplated the discovery; at first he assumed it was possible that the girl was not Yui and that this was all a case of mistaken identity on the part of the zealous authorities. It did not take long for him to find himself in the morgue which reminded him of the stories he read about. When he noticed the corpse and discovered that it was none other than his beloved stepdaughter, James clenched his fists and uttered some words in Myakkan before he walked out of the room. "...Why has this happened to her? What did Yui do to deserve her fate?"
OOC: Sorry it's a bit long but I really enjoyed writing this one! :D

“Yes. Yes it’s her, that’s my girl…” the girl’s mother, Kaori, said solemnly. The coroner who conducted the post-mortem, Doctor Harris Wales, admired her courage at identifying the wrecked body of her child. She was fighting back the tears but her voice did not break under the strain of seeing the broken girl.
“She was officially declared deceased here at the hospital a 03:21. By law of His Majesty’s Government it is your right and also a legal requirement for me, on behalf of the Cranford Police Constabulary to give you a full brief on how we believe she was killed and the events leading to her death. I warn you now however, as you can see from the poor girl’s condition, her death isn’t pleasant.”
The parents nodded, Kaori had given in to the tears but wasn’t crying aloud and again Dr. Wales admired her strength and will.
“Police and forensic experts were on the scene at 02:15 yesterday morning examining the body. We have almost too much evidence supporting the fact that she was raped on numerous occasions but to be more specific we believe she has been raped no less than three times a day for at least several weeks. She was assaulted on the night of her death as well just prior to the killing. The killing method was with a silence 45mm pistol, or so forensics tell us, but we’re almost sure. In the run up to her final days we can see she has been savagely beaten in almost every conceivable way in almost everywhere on her body but worse than that is the way he kept her prisoner. The giant tears of flesh from her wrist are self inflicted but not to induce suicide- there are signs of a struggle. We firmly believe that she was nailed to something wooden with standard nails by the wrists. The action she took to escape involved will power and the fact she had been treated so badly. The resulting action would have led to her death anyway, the state of her wrists meant blood would have been gushing all over the place and she would literally have minutes to live. However she managed to survive for nearly twenty minutes in which time she was raped again before being shot. She died from a single gunshot wound and not from her injuries.
“We have recovered the kidnapper’s DNA and registered his details into the national CCTV facial recognition system so if he set’s foot outside the house he’ll be spotted and likewise he won’t be able to leave the country. We are 100% positive he is still in Stevid and is within 100 miles of Cranford. The body was found at 02:15 but the actual killing had occurred twenty minutes before that, he may have even driven past the police cars on the way to the crime scene. Also all cars that match the description of the one we believe he was driving at the time have been pulled in by traffic police since they have been spotted on CCTV.
“I dunno much about the police activities regarding this whole aftermath situation but I’m told by Detective Wainright, the fellow is head of this particular case, has informed me that the kidnapper has probably changed the number plates on the car he is using. More than likely the car has been dumped by the man himself. But we’ll pick him up. Put him on trial here in Stevid before going through official lines to legally extradite him back to your country.
“I know this is difficult and I’m sorry to have told you all of this in such graphic detail but you are her parents and you legally have to know what happened to her, here in the Holy Empire anyway. But even if you had the choice I’m sure you would’ve liked to know even if you didn’t like what you heard. If you have any questions, any at all, now is the time to ask and you will also have the full support from the Constabulary. Any queries on the law and order system we have here? How close we are to finding that murdering bastard? What will happen to him once we get him? Anything like that, I can help you or Detective Wainright.”

The Stevidian police were exceptionally well funded, even in these rural parts around Cranford, and the traffic police interceptor was the physic embodiment of this. A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ-380 manned by two police officers usually struck fear into the hearts of fleeing criminals on the road. 380 bhp, mountains of torque, 0-60 4.8 seconds and the engine makes a noise that sounds like the apocalypse is coming, truly an amazing car and could out run almost anything on the road. This was the second most common police car on the road and the Evo IX looked so good in white, blue and florescent yellow.
The officers were just conducting a routine patrol in their epic interceptor but they had both heard of the dead girl discovered last night and that there was now a manhunt underway. They had also been told to look out for a battered, white, 1990 Honda civic which had been thought to be the kidnapper’s vehicle.
“Fuck me that was close!” the driver yelped much to his dismay as the in-car video and voice recording system was up and running, he swerved out into the middle of the country road to avoid hitting a man in a beige jumper who was running almost flat out towards him. “Stupid prat I could have killed him!”
“Well he seemed in a hurry to get somewhere.” His fellow officer retorted with a smirk.
“Or away from somewhere… Let’s crack on any, just two more hours before our shift ends.”
But minutes later the Evo turned a corner and in one of the lay-by parking spots by the side of the road was a white car in a dreadful condition with the driver’s door wide open. The officers didn’t spot it at first until they’d driven past it.
“Hang about, was that a Honda Civic?”
“My God. Maybe it was.” Replied the driver who quickly spun the Evo around and pelted back to the parking bay. “Sierra nine-nine to CPC Control, come in over.”
A crackle of the radio followed.
“CPC Control to Sierra nine-nine, we’re receiving you.”
“Do a plate check will you please? Plate number is: Foxtrot, one, three, eight , Omega, Alpha, Sierra. Confirm?
“Foxtrot, one, three, eight , Omega, Alpha, Sierra. Confirmed.”
The radio crackled and then was silent has the two police officers talked over whether or not they had found the kidnapper’s car. Both were so engrossed in conversation about the girl and the car that they didn’t a first consider the man they saw could’ve have been the killer. The radio crackled again.
“Sierra nine-nine this is CPC Control. Foxtrot, one, three, eight , Omega, Alpha, Sierra is confirmed to be a 1989 white Honda Civic as recorded by CCTV three hours ago. Stolen four days ago in Pratney on-the-Neigh and has subsequently had its plates change on numerous occasions. Please verify that manufacturer’s imprinted markings match the following plate number: Foxtrot, four, eight, four, Delta, Delta, Foxtrot. Over.”
“Roger that CPC Control…” said the driver. “Alan, check the manufacturer’s marking on in the frame of the offside rear passenger door.”
“Right then Mick.” said Alan, the passenger officer who quickly went to check the car. But then the brainwave hit Mick… the man down the road.
“CPC Control I’ve got Alan checking the print now but can you tell me if this is the same car we’re looking for regarding the manhunt and the murder of that little girl?”
Alan shouted back with a pale face and dread in his eyes.
“Foxtrot, four, eight, four, Delta, Delta, Foxtrot.”
“CPC Control? Confirmed that the print is Foxtrot, four, eight, four, Delta, Delta, Foxtrot. It matches your database.” Mick yelped.
There was another crackle of the radio before the reply came. “Sierra nine-nine, confirmed that that is the same Honda Civic that has committed the felon regarding the kidnap and murder of Yui Sanae Oda.”
“My God! We saw a man running form the scene about ten minutes ago. I’m going to try and track him down. Alan! Stay with the car and give a full going over, I’m going to light the roof up and see if I can find that guy who was running down the road.”
Mick lighted up the roof and the blue digital lights on the top of the car and through the radiator started flickering. He gunned the Evo’s noisy two litre engine that roared like a pissed off lion and tore down the same way he had driven before with the three tone sirens baring away as he went. At that exact moment Alan had opened the boot of the Honda revealing the disgusting mess and putrid stench left behind by the dead girl- he vomited violently in the bushes and reported his findings to CPC Control.
The sirens of the Evo IX could be heard from some distance and Mick was hitting 130mph down this winding country road but still couldn’t find the bloke they’d nearly hit minutes before.
“Shit… Sierra nine-nine to CPC Control. Suspect is not in sight, repeat, not in sight. I’ve travelled two and a half miles and he couldn’t run that in eight minutes. He must be somewhere in the fields. Requesting immediate helicopter air support. Over.
“Roger that Sierra nine-nine. Support is on its way.”
It took some time to arrive but five minutes later a dark blue helicopter with yellow rims was hovering over the general area. The road was now completely closed and the Evo IX was no longer alone. 4x4 police land rovers were now on the scene, forensic trucks swamped the lay-by parking space where the Honda was found and Officer Alan had an ambulance all to himself. There were six dog vans on the scene too each with four German Shepards. The helicopter was searching methodically with its thermal imaging camera over a very wide area including in the adjacent villages which were now also crawling with police. This quiet, beautiful rural area of the west country in Stevid was now the staging grounds for the biggest manhunt in Stevid. Of course the parents of the little girl were informed about this development too but alas no man had been found… yet.
“This is Oscar Two-nine aerial support. Hijack in progress on the A613 westbound about three and a half miles from the crime scene. Do believe it maybe the man we’re looking for. He has spotted me and is attempting to drag a person out of a Ford Escort… correction… he has the vehicle! Suspect now driving westbound out of Cranford towards Shelby, no regard to public safety on the road and he must be hitting 100 already. Engaging in pursuit now! Please respond with full traffic police interceptor force from the crime scene, I’m not going to let him get away! I repeat! A613 westbound towards Shelby.”
This was it… the moment every traffic cop loves, a high speed pursuit with a criminal who simply has to be caught. The Ford escort entered the tiny village of Shelby and was immediately caught out by a BMW M3 of the Cranford Police force and engaged in pursuit, unluckily for the police the kidnapper had stolen a modified Ford Escort and it managed to stay one step ahead of the BMW M3. The blaring sirens and blue lights of the BMW did little to stop the kidnapper but it was more for warning other road users of the pursuit.
“Oscar two-nine, we’re now in pursuit. Now clocking the target at 115mph, I’m keeping up with him but we’ve had some close calls with other traffic down here. This pursuit is dangerous and could end fatally.
“We’re receiving you. We’ve got a marked Subaru WRXi waiting for you at the next junction. Fall back and let them take up the pursuit but remain engaged in this pursuit!”
True to the helicopter’s word and buffed up Subaru took up the pursuit and then was joined by a fellow rally car- the Lancer Evo IX… Mick and Alan’s car. The Ford was fast but these cars were the best in the world for pursuits on such roads. Police had closed the road at the next junction which happened to be a roundabout that had roads leading to the local highway and back to Cranford. The two rally cars kept the pursuit close and were trying to box the kidnapper in with help from the BMW, as they approached the roundabout all three cars fell back a safe distance but kept their lights and sirens on. Allied police officers had laid a bed of nails across the road just before junction and the kidnapper foolishly managed to drive straight over them before the three interceptors rejoined the pursuit. Alan gunned the Evo ahead of his fellow drivers, he’d had enough and performed a perfect PIT manoeuvre on the kidnapper’s car which lost control and smashed side on into a lamp post with smoke pouring from the engine.
The police were taking no chances and Armed Response was called in case the man still had his gun with him. Stevidian Police never carry guns unless they operate inside the major city centres of the country. The police Ford Galaxy rolled up behind the interceptors and police officer wielding G36 assault riffle and Equinox pistols took aim at the car, sirens of the cars ringing loudly and the roaring noise of the helicopter hovering overhead could still be heard.
“Get out of the car! Now! Alan shouted with his baton close at hand.
Out stumbled the man holding a small silenced fire arm… the same silenced pistol used to kill the girl.
“DROP IT NOW! DROP THE GUN!” Boomed one of the armed officers cocked his assault rifle. The kidnapper thought about it and then realised he had nothing to lose, he raised the gun an inch but the police were better than he was and were more prepared. A single shot rang out as a bullet snapped into the kidnapper hand that was holding the gun. Now unarmed Alan bolted for the man and kicked him in the crotch and swiftly arrested him.
“Sir, I am arresting under suspicion for the abduction, rape, torture, mistreatment and murder of seven year old Yui Sanae Oda. I am also arresting you for forging car number plates, possession of an unlicensed fire arm and resisting arrest. You do not have to say anything however it may harm your defence if you do not mention something when question on something you may later rely on in court. Anything you do say will be given in evidence.”
The man was bundled into the back of a police van that arrived minutes earlier and the road was closed, the evidence collected and sent to Cranford Police station. The harsh fact was that he was still innocent and couldn’t actually be arrested for the crimes, they didn’t know his name and they didn’t know he committed them so he was under suspicion. A DNA test would prove or disprove anything but for the moment the police could bask in glory that this crazy man had been on the run in Stevid for less than a week. A top class Police force had brought this terror and torment for the girl’s parents to an end. They were immediately informed of the chase and arrest of a single man. The parents and several of the girl’s friends were to be invited to Cranford police station to see if they could identify the man.

(OOC: Fantastic!)
Kaori and James were working to get Yui prepared for the trip back to Motokata. "We plan on having Yui's organs donated, then after the funeral she will be creemated."
The call came in that they may have Yui's captor. "Well we need Asuka, she was the last to see Yui."
After a few hours Asuka among a few other friends were rushed out to Stevid to identify the men in the lineup. "They can't see us can they?" Asuka asked.
"No sweetheart, they only see a mirror." Kaori reassured her.
"That's our teacher!" All the girls confirmed it.
"They're right, he was Yui's teacher. School reports they haven't seen him in days."
"He sent Yui love notes." Asuka said.
"It's him."
Cranford Police Station
It had been a stressful few days for everyone, the discovery of Yui’s body, the three day long man hunt, the discovery of the car that Yui had been bundled in, to the high speed pursuit for the murderer through the Stevidian countryside. Now it was all over, the killer had been caught and had been held in a detention cell for nearly three days while they arrived for one of Yui’s friends, a girl called Asuka who travelled with some other friends too, to arrive to try an identify the man. She hadn’t seen Yui’s body and despite a few protests from the child she still hadn’t seen her dead best friend- the miserable state of Yui’s corpse would be enough to haunt Asuka for life and so the nurses at Cranford morgue forbid her to see the body. She wasn’t all too confident about seeing the killer, she might not know him after all and a lot of pressure was on her shoulders because of this whole ordeal. Detective Wainright was with several officers when they escorted the little girl to the viewing room so she could ID the killer if possible.
“Asuka,” Wainright said softly. “We can not ask anything more from you. In fact what we are doing as pleading to ask more from you because you have been incredibly brave and strong so far. You have had to cope with the loss of your friend and taken the time to come over here to do us a favour. Don’t be frightened of him because he’s cuffed in the next room and also he can’t see you through this one-way mirror. Just tell us if you know the man and you can go on your way- we’ll see to it that this man is taught a lesson.”
The girl nodded and one of the officers flicked a switch activating the one-way mirror revealing the killer on the other side. The children all confirmed it to be there teacher from school, every single one of them identified the man positively.
“A typical paedophile sir.” One of the officers said aloud.
“Typical is the wrong word in this case Constable. Paedophiles rarely perform acts like the ones we’ve discovered happened…. Right arrest him immediately for all suspicion. Girls and boys, I can not thank you enough for you help. By identifying this man you have saved us probably days of questioning and police time. You are too young to give evidence in court but I can assure you that this man will go to prison for a very long time. Your guardians are waiting for you outside and my officers will escort you back to them.”
The killer was read is rights, this time there was no suspicion and the only thing that kept him legally innocent was the fact that a jury hadn’t said otherwise yet. Apart from that he was guilty, DNA evidence was huge, the children had just given a positive ID, the man himself had confessed to taking the girl but not raping her or killing her or even been anywhere here the Honda- despite the DNA evidence. The charade was over, next was court and the funeral of the young Yui.
* * *
Kaori and James were talking to Wainright regarding everything. The Detective in particular was upset they hadn’t been fully kept in the loop about everything and had decided that he personally would give them a full rundown of events.
“Obviously she was kidnapped in Motokata but she must’ve have spent a long time still over there with that man before coming here, we’ve discovered that they were both here for little more than five days at least. The police search in your own country forced him out. I don’t want to play down your country’s own police force but as soon as we discovered that she might be here we knew we’d find him quickly. Public Stevid is a very ‘Big Brother’ place even out here in the country. You can’t get anywhere without crossing into the field view of a police camera these days, and our national database is one of the best in the world for tracking and locating people- it was only a matter of time before we found him. But she was killed here in Stevid after just two days, four days later we arrested him after a few of our very valiant officers came across a car the match the description of one suspected of being the killer’s car. He’s been positively identified by Yui’s friends.
“Cranford General Hospital is currently making arrangements for the transportation of Yui’s body back to Motokata. If the local airport and their own authorities are in a good mood we can ship her out tomorrow…
“Now comes the difficult bit. This sick and twisted wretch of a man was arrested on Stevidian soil, he’s our criminal but your man but he committed the murder plus a whole host of other crimes here in the Holy Empire too. He will be tried and sentenced here in Stevid as quickly as possible- you will have to attend court along with any family and friends that were heavily involved with the search and that includes government agents and civil servants too I’m afraid. However since we do not have an extradition treaty with your country the process of handing him over to your government will be a lengthy one which is why we will sentence him here. He will get life imprisonment. That is a promise but until a ruling is agreed between our two countries he will remain here and serve out the court’s word. The trial will last only a couple of weeks, the extradition could take anything from several weeks or a few months to up to a whole year, I’m not sure it just depends on how cooperative our governments are. Also we don’t extradite people who will almost certainly be put to death, if your nation has the death penalty and this man is likely to receive it then the process will take much longer… but a simple retrial in Motokata would solve that problem so long as it is a fair trial.”
He extended his hand to James with a smile.
“I told you we’d find him.” They shook hands. “I only wish the outcome could have turned out a little better than this…Oh! Here is Yui’s Death Certificate, by law you are to be presented it and I guess back home in Motokata the authorities would like to see and record it too. Again, sorry the circumstances of our meeting again is under an unpleasant atmosphere but she is in a better place now with the Lord, I’m sure her soul is happy particularly now the culprit is behind bars.”
"....Yui is dead. Why do you mull over it? Give it up. It's hopeless. You can't change it."
James heard these words in his mind as he paced around the room where he kept his arts and crafts projects that he had made with his now dead stepdaughter long before this all occured. He felt himself consumed with anger and sorrow mixed to form a new and unknown substance that made him feel inept. It made him feel like he was useless. Wasn't it his job to protect his child? Wasn't it? He looked at the projects that he had made and uttered some words in Myakkan before he charged forth his hand and brought some of them crashing down with his feet stomping on them so as to utterly destroy them. He was throwing them around and smashing them while shouting curses in his native Myakkan. He didn't destroy all of them, however, as he soon stopped. He fell onto his knees and tears came from his eyes as he held the ruins of a model ship he had built with Yui weeks before. He knew what Wainwright had said. He knew what Yui's friends said. He felt like killing the man who was charged with murdering his stepdaughter with his own two hands. He wouldn't have minded that. He wouldn't have minded being charged with murder himself. He knew the teacher did it. He knew it. It would have been a service to humanity to kill him. James threw the ruins of the model ship at the wall and rubbed his eyes with his sleeve before rising as if nothing had been wrong with him. Was Yui truly in a better place? If she was with the Lord...why didn't He save her from death? Why was it God's plan, one can say, for girls like Yui to die so young? He could never figure that out. He walked out of the room a solemn and heartbroken man. His eyes cast down a horrible countenance while his hands twitched and clenched as if he was preparing to attack someone. He walked into Yui's room and knelt before her bed with his hands clutching the bed sheets and more tears falling from his eyes. Was she in Heaven? Could she watch over him? What was Heaven like? There were those people who wrote stories about girls in Heaven looking down on their families and friends but he never could tell if that was how it really went. If it was..at least her being in a better place would give him consolation but even it wouldn't be enough to cleanse him of his sorrow: he knew that his lovely life was shattered and that Yui's lovely life was no more. The end came to his happy life like lightning.
James exited the room after some silent contemplation and then remembered how he had been told that he would have to attend court sessions. He wanted to see this man who killed his child brought to justice. He wanted to see the man face his judgment. He wanted him to suffer in the next world if there was one. He was totally depraved, like Calvin said all people were, and deserved nothing less than death. Forgiveness was something people will tell you to rely on in cases like this but James could not forgive the man. There were just some things you can't forgive. He then heard another voice inside his head:
"....What were Yui's dreams? Poor girl will never live them! Look at her....she's gone...the ghost left the shell...nothing to look forward to for dead girls. It's the wickedness of the world that silenced her, no? Depravity is the new gold of the world....look at it. We strut around and think our lives are so pure and good but then we see.....we see the truth. Humans are beasts, no?"
James felt like someone was talking to him. Was someone truly talking to him?
"....Her lovely life's no more....you thought she was lovely....she's going to be cremated, eh?....poor girl....some girls don't even get a burial....their corpses are just left to rot in some sinkhole or ditch....at least your child was fortunate to have her corpse recovered.....she's in a better place...if it's not Heaven then at least the grave is better than living in this world....it's such a repugnant shithole anyway, right?"

Kaori felt very frustrated right now. The mix of emotions was blurring the lines between justice and revenge. The revenge storm in her, made her want to kill the man that killed her life. She wanted him on Motokatan soil, frankly she wanted to pick up a Katana and slice off his head her self. But arguing with Stevid wasn't going to solve anything, after all they brought Yui's captor to justice and they were going to give him what he deserved. Fighting just may delay or enrage Stevid and delay getting true justice.
"I understand. Please, if you can, take a personal message to your leader, tell him, at some time in the future, Motokata would most certainly want to meet with Stevid to begin diplomatic relations. I'm sure after the trial, we can settle back into normal routines. I'll testify, I want that bastard behind bars. In Motokata you can be certain he would be put to death for kidnapping my child. Being the State Holder, Yui and I were national security protection. But as he broke your laws and was captured on your soil, you have your right."
She couldn't help but hug the officers out of her gratitude for at least giving them closure. "If anyone in the hierarchy of Stevid politics desires to attend Yui's wake, they may. Thank you for your work. Motokata will reimburse Stevid and the police in full for the efforts. I insist upon on it. I just wonder if I could speak to Yui's captor?"
----------------------
(SIC)
Kaori needed serious damage control, she knew Stevid was a devoutly religious country, something she respected very much of course. Kaori's faith differed but the special nude photo of her self bearing a cross in her breasts might upset more people. It was meant to just be a photo for her husband and no one else. "Ko, I need you to get the media to retract that photo of me. I don't care, get the lobbyists to do a hostile take over, enact the Powers of Media Suspension on them, just get the Justice General on it, and get to work. Bury the story so deep, that no one will see it again. Thanks. Belive me, when I found who stole that photo and gave it to the press, they're so fired."
-------------------------------------------
"Yui Oda, is dead." The news casters said. "Found in Stevid just over a day ago, her captor, now former teacher....." The casters went on to describe how and by who Yui was found. They had no knowledge of Yui's ordeal and they weren't allowed to tell Yui's state when she was found. Her body was allowed to be shown as it was nicely dressed for the viewing and lying peacefully in the coffin.
Otani and Justice Chief Kuroda were standing with the Network Execs of the largest media moogle in the country. "This is outrageous...." He said/
"Well it's how it is." Otani said.
"What about Free Press?"
"As of now that right is suspended. This story will no longer be shown, all copies will be destroyed. If any surface on the net you will be reprimanded severely."
"This is a dictatorship...."
"Well it's a mostly free one. Unless you want to go to prison for the rest of your life? You better do as we say."

The following is a bump for Myakka and potentially Stevid. Bot of whom are awesome. This is only a bump.
buuuuuuuuuuump! :D (sorry for the nonsense, I hope when we can all find the time we'll pick up again)
(sniff I've been reading this, it's so sad. If I so may make an IC comment consider it a free bump by Kanami :D)
Kanami media had gotten wind of the terrible news of the kidnapping as such Kanami was on the alert but nothing had turned up. When the news came that she was found dead in Stevid it drew attention again. Still Incumbent Prime Minister Elenore Romney was now a mother herself, it would kill her if one of her children fell into this situation.
"A family has experienced a horrible loss." Elenore said in a press statement. "They lost one thing that is most precious, their daughter. It's something no parent should ever have to experience. I ask the nation to give their thoughts and prayers with the Oda family tonight as they continue to morn the loss of their beloved child. I would also like to commend the actions of the ever alert and vigilant Stevid police. Their intuition and judgment at the very least brought some closure to the family. The child was dumped made to look like a street walker, but these officers knew something about that, didn't fit. They put together a puzzle and they were able to determine that this was the missing child."
"Prime Minister Romney will attend the funeral if permissible."
Ooc: sorry I ain't posted, work destroyed my free time over the past week but I should have something decent very soon.
;-) long time no see kanami
Detective Wainright was taken slightly aback by Kaori’s hug after he had explained everything to her, in fact he had never been thanked in such a way by a relative of a deceased victim and it heartened him much to know that his efforts and the entire Stevidian Police Force’s efforts had been appreciated so much by this woman, her spouse and all other friends and relatives- efforts that would not soon be forgotten. She did however make one more request, to see the killer- the tyrant of a man who deserved death as much as Hitler did. He frowned quickly and mulled over the request.
“See him and speak to him? Very unusual request my dear and very difficult to allow, but then these are exceptional circumstances. He will be held in the interviewing room and you will be able to see him through the one-way mirror and talk to him over the intercom. But you will be allowed nowhere near him, nothing can guarantee that you won’t try and attack in revenge which is most likely given what has occurred. I’ll try and arrange it.
“I will inform the Chief Inspector of your other request and I’m sure he will then pass on your thanks to the Prime Minister himself, I’m sure he too has been following this case very carefully indeed. But as for the trial, it is short of a ‘show trial’, we all no he’s going to jail for life here anyway but we don’t know is how long he is actually going to be here for. You admitted yourself that death is almost certain for him back in his home country which makes the extradition process exceptionally complicated seeing as Stevidian policy is not to extradite people who face certain death. But these circumstances are different, it might be allowed but it could take a very long time indeed. That is the only reason he is going to stand trial here, and from what I’ve heard a jury has already been decided upon so the hearing will take place in several days… after the funeral. What’s going to happen is a Priest will say a few words of respect to your daughter from the hearse takes her to the airport tomorrow so that it can be flown back to Motokata for the funeral which I will be attending along with nearly eighty police officers I’ve heard. That girl touched the hearts of many and we didn’t even know her.”
* * *
Four Hours Later- 21:43
Two watchful officers stood guard outside a heavy door where the killer was seated in, next to it was an open door and inside was the see through side of the one-way mirror. With reluctance the Cranford Constabulary agreed to allow Kaori and company to see the monster of a man behind the death of the daughter and the mastermind behind their ruined lives. He was dressed in orange and had had his head shaven finely to prevent bitchy attacks from fellow inmates if they ever caught sight of him, he wore handcuffs and ankle binders and two more officers flanked him. He stared at the centre of the table and hadn’t moved and inch since he sat down and continued to wear the same expressionless face he did in court only two hours earlier where he had only appeared to confirm his identity. It was this lonely and vacant figure that greeted Kaori and others from the other side of the mirror.
Wainright led her and company into the other room and he was just as tense as she was, everything could happen to either her or anyone else upon seeing the man- violence being the main concern. He nodded to the door guard who then nodded back and his hand fell to his baton in case anyone tried anything stupid, but he doubted that but he still had to maintain order but most of all discipline in everyone, included the wounded family.
“I understand what you’re going through and I understand the rage you want to unleash upon this man. But you must control yourself dear lady. I want no foul abuse or violent behaviour, firstly because you’d be causing a nuisance to yourself and only making your dreadful situation worse, and second because it is what he wants you to do.” He stabbed a finger to the man dressed in orange on the other side of the mirror. “He wants you to get angry, he wants you to let off steam on him personally and physically. He wants to turn us all against him but only God can save him now and finally only God can judge him at the end. He will face justice both in this life and the next but he will relish every chance he gets to make someone feel unhappy, angry, and helpless and more depress. So I beg of you Kaori, despite all that has happened and all he has done and what he is, try and be civil with him… for your sake.”
The Next Day
The local airport was a small private one used local noble with their private jets, no one every through it would ever become part of a funeral procession. The hearse and black limousines had arrived to pick up the corpse, family and friends of the more little girl and take them to the waiting plane several miles away. Kaori, James and Yui’s friends who had not yet left had little idea of the impact this sorry case had had on the country but in particular on the small town of Cranford and its local police force. They followed the undertakers out of the morgue dressed in black to find the main corridor of the police station lined down the walls by police officers including Wainright and the Chief Inspector, everyone standing to attention and keeping a solemn but stiff upper lip as the small coffin was carried by and out to the hearse outside.
It got more amazing once the cars left the confines of the police stations perimeter gate and the family and friends realised the extent of how much people cared about what happened. Along the whole route of the funeral procession people, ordinary people who didn’t even know the girl, came out to pay their respects to her and the family and friends as they drove back. Hundreds and hundreds watched and made the Sign of Cross as the slowly drove through the town towards the airport. They lined the streets, the stopped and got out of their cars, they leaned out of windows and watched from bridges and balconies. It wasn’t until they hit the country A roads that the watchers disappeared, but then at the airport the local population and members of airport staff had gathered there as well including the traffic police officers who had discovered the car Yui was taken in and who had also arrested the killer.
Final words were exchanged between everyone and a final farewell was said before the family boarded the plane with their daughter bound for Motokata. Stevidian mourners who would be paying their respects at the funeral would be leaving later that day but for the moment the whole thing was just a personal affair for the family and friends. The court appearance was in six days and so the family had that long to either stick the corpse in a morgue until the trial was over or to have a funeral in that time before returning to Stevid to give evidence to the police and then High Judicial of the Holy Empire in the capital city, it was the Old Bailey of Stevid, the highest court in the Empire, the best and most feared judges worked hear and only the sickest of criminals were ever dragged into these docks and most never walked away as free men…

Motokata

"You have my guarantee." Kaori wanted to strangle the man but she couldn't blow it like that. "All I want to do is talk."
She sat down before him.
"You're lucky you're in Stevid. Very lucky, had you been in Motokata, I would have taken a ketana and I would be having loads of fun with you at the moment. I'd probably slice your head off. But I can't, because I have to be civilzed, and I have to let the justice system of Stevid do it's duty. Relax I won't hurt you here, I had to promise 10 fold that I wouldn't hurt you, like you did to my little baby. Yui was everything to me, you stole her from me. Why? To get your kicks?" Kaori had to resist the temptation to slap him, if she did she would be thrown out. She fought it off with out rasing a single hand. "Have you ever seen a movie called Bounty Hunter? (occ: Fictional film as far as I'm concerned) No? Well it was a favorite of mine and my daughter's. You see it's about a girl who becomes so thristy for vengance that she takes the man who killed her parents in a fire and takes him for a wild ride. It's pretty sad film, bleak, dark,
neo-noir style. Oh how I've longed dreamed to do that to you. But I can't, and I won't. You can rot in jail for the rest of your life. I don't know much about the Stevid prisons, but I'm pretty sure you know how prison life is in Motokata. Farewell."
Kaori pressed the buzzer to be let out by the guards.
The day of Yui's departure to Motokata came. Yui's organs were harvested and put into storage. It gave Kaori comfot to know that some day Yui could save someone's life. To show her appreciation she gave the offer to let Stevid chose some of the most needed transplant recipiants on the list. The car drove down the streets full of people watching and praying. "Faith, sometimes it's the only thing that keeps a person calm in the most troubled times." Kaori's faith was being tested with out a doubt. With several Motokatan Military waiting in a salute as the coffin of Yui was brought onboard.
The final wake was ready to be held for Yui in Motokata, Kaori wanted any world leaders to come, in hopes to potentially help create universal progressive action for child abuduction victims.
OOC: I'll let James talk to the murderer as well; I'd love to see his reaction to Kaori and James' respective statements.
James was given his own private audience with the murderer of one of his beloved children after Kaori had finished with her own audience and everyone could see how stoic James looked as he walked into the room with his eyes immediately focused on the murderer in question. He spoke in a solemn tone of voice:
".....Calvin must have been right, to an extent, when he wrote about his idea of the total depravity of mankind for I can see that you are a depraved and wicked soul with nothing to rely upon but thy own perversions. You are not a special case, however. Many girls like Yui have been kidnapped, raped, and murdered in nations all over this world. What makes you special, however, is that you killed MY daughter and for that I wished nothing more than to wring your neck and kill you with my own two hands but yet I shall not transgress against common procedure. You shall wallow in the filth you have created for yourself and, Heaven willing, you shall be tormented for the rest of your life. If there is a God, I pray he shall pronounce swift judgment upon you and I pray that the world is cleansed of people like you. It is people like you that make this world dreadful. It is people like you that cause so many problems. If you were in Myakka, you would be executed....."
James then looked into the man's eyes and sadistically grinned. "....Did you think that Yui's bloodcurdling screams were lovely? Did you feel raping her was great? What did you think? Did you feel good? You are a piece of shit. You are the most repugnant kind of person that can exist. I would have loved to execute you myself but I fear that you won't get that punishment here in Stevid. At least you are no longer able to kill any other girls but....I don't know if you already have. It's entirely possible you have killed more than one girl like you did Yui. Why did you kill Yui? Was it because she was Kaori's child? Was it because she looked "very pretty" to you? People like you are the reason why many of us honest folk look at the world with pessimistic eyes. If you excuse me, barbarian, I must spend my time with civilized people now. May you suffer forevermore."
James walked out of the room emotionlessly and looked at Kaori. "...I want to be alone for a while, my love. You stay with Wainwright and the others."
The National Health Service (NHS) almost wanted to refuse the organ donation out of grief but also because they didn’t know whether Yui’s family were doing it as a way of payment or simple ethical reasons. They chose the latter and thanked them for the donation, children’s organs were rare these days and poorly kids who desperately needed them certainly wouldn’t turn down those offered by Yui. They were immediately put to good use across hospitals up and down the country, even in death Yui was touching the hearts of many and even saving lives.
The Prime Minister reluctantly refused to attend the funeral but the foreign minister decided to make the journey instead, attending the service on behalf of the country seemed apt. The Stevidian Police were there in force to pay their final respects to the young girl whom they had dedicated so many resources to finding, at least the killer was caught and sometime in the future would be standing trial in Motokata- until that time he was stuck in the Holy Empire, his fate a mystery. Wainright was attending as well has he thought he now had a particular bond to this child he had never met personally, it had been his case and his judgement that had brought the killer to justice and made to repent for his crimes.
But the story wasn’t over yet in Stevid…
An Industrial Park Somewhere in Cranford 20:13
A single Police V70 Volvo estate interceptor toured the dilapidated streets of this industrial sector. It wasn’t quite the concrete and steel lavished futuristic ones in the wastelands an along the southern coast, old rickety buildings, hookers, drug addicts and dealers, gang warfare- all rife in this part of town but no crime was to be seen this early in the evening especially when the Old Bill were on the prowl. The two officers in the car were not on a standard patrol though, a small apartment block with and adjacent garage had fallen silent over the past several days which had worried the usually uninterested neighbours. There had been reports of what looked like a foreign man and his daughter living there at one point, tales of child abuse had been brought up every so often but never reported seeing as that sort of thing happen in a neighbourhood like this. The usually loud screaming and shouting coupled with bangs and crashes had subsided gently over the course of four days before it stopped completely six days ago. Reluctantly the neighbours phoned the police, almost a social crime in itself in these parts of the town.
The V70 casually cruised towards the tiny block of flats where the neighbours had said the noise had used to come from. No blues and no sirens, just in case someone were in there they didn’t want to frighten them and as of yet they hadn’t committed a crime. The police interceptor came to stop outside the disgusting building and the officers frowned.
“I already hate this, Alec.” The driver said to his colleague Adam.
“I hate to agree with you but I’m with you on this one, doesn’t look too friendly at all. Let me tell CPC Control we’re here and then get this over with… Echo one-four to CPC Control.”
“CPC Control, go ahead Echo one-four.”
“Police Constables Alec Carter 896 and Adam Tash 117 now at the scene of incident reference…err… 77263 in Lower Town Cranford. We are now proceeding as planned.”
“10-4. Proceed with caution.”
The two officers used a master key to get through the first security door before walking only a few steps inside to the ground floor flat which they were to investigate. Alec rapped on the door loudly while Adam made sure the car was okay and the hallway clear.
“Police open up!” Alec shouted. After a period of twenty seconds with no reply he continued as before. “Police! Can you open the door please or we will knock it in!”
There was no reply again, no dog barking, no music, no nothing. Alec looked at Adam who simply shrugged vacantly back at Alec.
“This is your last chance! Open the… fuck it, get the ram.” He said quickly bringing a large smirk to his and Adam’s face. They loved this part of the job, bashing doors in legally and shouting a lot. Adam fetched a steel handheld door ram and Alec promptly slammed it into the door handle and the Yale lock before kicking the rest of the door in. What greeted him sent both the officers staggering backwards, an over powering stench of filth and body odour. The air was thick and heavy, almost a dark red mist with a very coppery taste to it. Blood.
“Hells teeth!” Yelped Adam. “What on earth died in here then?”
“Baton out and torches on.” Replied Alec professionally but he couldn’t keep out the tone of revulsion in his voice as both the officer crept into the flat. “Make sure your stab vest is on properly too.”
Both had their batons drawn and their chest torches burned through the misty atmosphere. It got more and more disgusting as they progressed through the tiny corridor. Blood was splattered liberally all over the place and blood handprints of various sizes were on the walls and floor. It was like a scene out of some horrific zombie terror film. Doors creaked with the breeze let in by the open front door, one hanging of its hinges and bloody marks on and around the doorknob. It almost seemed frantic as if someone was trying to get away and someone else was preventing it. Was the lift of and arm Alec signalled Adam to split and search the rest of the house while he concentrated on other parts.
Alec peered round the ruined door, his hands shaking almost uncontrollably as he gently pushed the door open. He found it to be the master bedroom and it was a wreck, not much blood although there were certainly a lot of traces of it. The bed was mess and the sheets were filthy and all over the place, dotted all around the floor was pornography magazines, straight, gay and even child much to Alec’s horror. Stevidian shops sold filth like this but certainly not child orientated ones- the magazine was indeed foreign but not from a country he knew very well if at all. Mirrors were shattered, clothes everywhere but to Alec’s horror a lot of the clothes were those that would fit on a small child. He didn’t like the way this was headed and left quickly into the kitchen.
This was possibly even worse. It hadn’t been cleaned for months, fast food containers filled with half eaten food was strewn all over the place. A rat scattered from a KFC bucket as Alec approached it and the fridge. He dared himself not to open it but curiosity got the better of him, the fridge was on so the smell wouldn’t be terrible. Bloody handprints and smears were numerous on the fridge too as he opened it. There was no food apart from a plate of meat that looked like it was thawed human flesh but he couldn’t be sure. But there were jars of fluid with labels with some scrawled writing on them; one was dark red and was obvious what it was but it was nearly half full- at least two an a half pints worth of blood. One was greenish-yellow and the label said ‘Her urine’. Alec grimaced and looked at the other jar which was filled with a clear but more viscous liquid- the label said ‘Her sexual essence’. Alec vomited violently and absentmindedly on the floor, slam the fridge shut and almost slipped on a pool of blood on the floor. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a toilet… the bathroom. He might actually die if he went in there.
“Alec…” Came a quivering voice from nowhere.
“Adam? Where the fuck are ya?” Alec called back desperately as he wiped his mouth with his hand.
“Side door… leading to the garage…” Came the terrified reply. It took a lot to break a police officer’s voice in such a way. Adam was forty years old and he sounded like a child when he spoke. Alec didn’t want to see what Adam saw but could it be any worse than what he had seen already?
Alec staggered behind his fellow officer into the garage and was met with a horrific scene. A wooden chair with a single light hovering over it, it was red with blood and around it the once grey concrete was now a dark crimson colour. To one side was a desk with a very bloody nail gun and other surgical devices on it as well, evidence of the gun’s use was evident on the chair with a pair of huge nails jutting out of each arm rest each with lump of human flesh still attached to it. Barely visible in the dark was round table with rope stretched around it, a sort of table used for sadistic sex, the rope was worn and bloody and looked as if it had been used hundreds of times. Bloody hand prints were everywhere and a huge smear of a blood stain ran, accompanied by small handprints, from the chair to the garage side door that lead out to the street.
“They were nailed to the chair…” Adam said. “In their desperation they literally tore themselves from the chair and dragged their haemorrhaging body to the outside world.” Both officers darted for the door and opened it. Fresh clean air and untainted light flooded into Satan’s garage. “The blood trail has gone but it looks like it has been washed… There!” Adam said pointing to the gutter.
“What Adam?” Alec retorted, the colour in his face returning after his ordeal in the house. “What is it?” His question was answered when Adam, who had bent down and picked something out of the gutter, stood upright again with a bullet cartridge in between his fingers.
“Police Constable Alec Carter. I do believe we have found the place where Yui was raped, tortured and killed… I guess we should tell CPC Control, Wainright and the family of this development. So far the only evidence we have that she was killed by the same man we arrested is that the bullet matches the gun he had and that he had sexually assaulted her. All other evidence pointing to the fact that he tortured her is entirely circumstantial.”
“…Until now eh? Excellent work partner, he’ll get life now we have this.”
“Maybe even death. The judge can decree a punishment of death in exceptional circumstances… but I guess we’ll see when the court is in session when everyone comes back from the funeral. Right… I’ll get CPC on the radio and bring every officer and forensic team under the sun down here.”
Motokata

Only a few of Yui's organs were not used by Stevid Health Services, her eyes being one of them. Little to the family's knowledge the eyes were raced back to Motokata to be used in a girl who was going blind and needed the transplant right away. (ooc: a planting for a latter scenario)
The wake of Yui's funeral was a somber and pleasant one. Before the official cremation of Yui there was an open casket. Those who visited were encouraged to sign a card. All of Yui's close friends shown. Asuka was crushed she still felt she was to blame for Yui's death. "Asuka..." Kaori sat down next to her. "Hey sweetie, how you doing?" Asuka was like a surrogate daughter to Kaori. "She's really gone. I can't get it, I know she's gone but I can't...."
"It's hard for me too. You were Yui's befriend, you were the entire family's friend."
"I'm sorry, I-"
"Shh....Nothing you can say or blame your self for can bring Yui back. Asuka, you say your goodbye to Yui."
Asuka stood at Yui's casket. To Asuka it seemed as though Yui was giving her her bright beautiful smile that she gave all the time.
"I'll miss you Yui. I'll see you on the other side someday."
