Console do Anjo

Marina Kokoto arrived in port in Kirav to discuss a special defense contract between the two nations. The Holy land needed a good defense force to protect it's self from hostile enemies abroad this was no doubt. "I'm Marina Kokoto from Console do Anjo."

Saar-Silverda, Kirav, Kiravian Empire

Diplomat-Major Erik Valmec was to greet Marina Kokoto, the representative of Console do Anjo, in Saar-Silverda.

Nestled between waters and mountains in Cascada Province, on Kirav's western coast, Saar-Silverda commanded the sparkling Séalbora Bay. It served as the Empire's largest port, connecting Kirav to the colonies and dominions across the globe that made up the Kiravian Empire, and recieving trade from foriegn nations.

His assignment was to work out the terms of a defence contract with Console do Anjo, a country that had recently eschewn technology in favour of a simpler way of life. The Empire had offered to provide for her defence, in exchange for concessions. Valmec's job was to bring Console do Anjo and the Empire into agreement on percisely what those terms were.

He greeted his counterpart at Pier 12, Northern Port District.
Recieving her greeting, he answered with one of his own. "An honour to meet you, Ma'am. Welcome to Kirav," he said cordially. "There is a limousine waiting at the end of the pier to take us to the government complex where we shall discuss things further."

"Thank you so kindly. You have a beautiful country. Our Most Holy Leader sends her regrets that she could not attend."

"It is quite alright. Emperor Seawind could not attend either, as he is visiting our colony of Thenrya."

Valmec led Ma'am Kokoto to the landward end of the pier, and welcomed her into the limousine. As they drove towards the governmental building away from the port district, Valmec asked:

"I beg your pardon, Ma'am, but out of curiousity, may I ask why your people have elected to give up technology? The Empire approves of your decision, of course, but the Strategic Sociology Office has instructed me to ask why, simply for their own records."

"Well after the collapse of our old monarchy, we didn't use much technology. We didn't have the true means. We weren't sure why at first, but after much prayful meditation on Her Holieness' Part she felt the God had desired for his people to live in pure humbleness and humility before him. After the last major storm took out the remaning power grids, we felt no need to restore them. Humilty and humbleness. She has commanded because God has commanded her. It's no diffrent for any of us. Of course we are working to keep a few viatal utilties that keep us healthy. Proper sanitation and disposal of such. Running wells so we don't thirst."

"That makes sense. Tell me, what faith do your people follow?"

"That makes sense. Tell me, what faith do your people follow?"

"I don't imagine we've given a Specific Name, we just refer to it as "The Faith" in the country. It's religion of set principals and belifes. I guess it follows along some of the Christian ideals but we are diffrent. Our Leader is God's Beloved Daughter, she is Divine."

"A third of our people follow something similar. We call it Coscivian Theism in English, though in most of the Coscivian languages, our tongues, it is refered to as something along the lines of Kétherisë, roughly meaning "the way of faith". It's monotheistic, and follows a semi-Christian life philosophy, just like The Faith of which you speak. I myself am a Coscivian Theist. It used to be the majority religion of the Empire, but now more Kiravians follow Christianity, Kristþerisë. In fact, there are some people who consider themselves to be both Theists and Christians. "

The limousine pulled up to a building made of speckled white marble. Valmec, climbed out and held the door open for Kokoto.

"Ah I guess Christians are the big religion followers in this world. The Monarch before supressed any form of God. It was terrible. But now we are back with a chosen Daughter to lead us." She stepped out and looked at the structure before her. "Very very nice."

"That is terrible indeed. Religion has always been important to the Kiravian people. I don't know where we'd be without it."

Valmec and the Anjan [What's your national adjective?] walked into the building, took an elevator to the fifth floor, walked down a hallway, and then sat down in a comfortable conference room.

(Anjan is acceptable or you can simply call her Portoguese)

"A bit chilly in here. I'm used to the hot weather of my home."

"Ah, my apologies. We are quite a chilly country, especially this time of year. My people don't generally settle in tropical climates. Hold on," he said.

He pressed a button on the table which was adjacent to a speaker, "Hæ? Kú é Erik Valmec, en cambra 72. Kú pos ih dignitur kën ih tropix perpëmeteora. Com sú elem té therma, plasis? Grätur"

More to come tommorrow.

"Thank you. You're very kind to adjust the temprature."

"You're very welcome. Now, what's been decided so far is that we will provide defence for Console do Anjo. THe first question we must answer is: How much defence? Should the Empire be only bound to defend in the event of invasion, or also perform anti-piracy, internal security, counter-terrorism, or coast guard services? It is all up to you and your government, of course."

"Well Her holiness feels bound at present to mostly give us defense from external sources. We are willing to pull our weight and help guard our own country, so we need weapons. In the event of an invasion we would ask of you to defend us. Now the The State has agreed not to comittie active agressions against other nations with out provacation. I will tell you now, there is a southern province we are looking into annexing, we feel we can strike a deal that will work for the people of that country so we don't need to use force."

"Ah. So, you shall provide for your own expansion and domestic vigilance. Good."

Valmec jotted down a few Coscivian logograms down on a sheet of paper, and then asked, "Could you tell me a bit about Anjan geography? We shall need to know what units would need to be at our disposal in case you were invaded."

"We're a costal state that runs mostly north to south. We have two coast lines to our North and to our West. We have some canyons and mountains in our southern area. These are rather steep and sometimes dangerous. Many villages do reside there non the less. Besides that most of the country is flat. If we gain this southern province that lies bellow our borderline we'll add about another 220,000 square miles of farmlands, tropical forests, and one mountain peak."

"Good. So, in that case, we should account for a detatchment from the Tropical Combat Legion, some naval forces, and general infantry with some specialised mountain forces if ever our intervention is neccessary. Also, would it be possible for us to operate a small coastal base to house, say, 3,000 to 5,000 rapid response troops? This would prove very important in the event of an unexpected attack, and would help your people hold out until additional KE forces arrive."

"Oh yes, I almost forgot about asking you that. We have allocated 3200 acres of land for you to establish a base. You'll have direct access to water and in a remote but flat area. If you ever need to expand the facility you may of course request it of us. The land is for your use and you will be allowed to enforce your security as you see fit."

"Thank you immensely. That is more than we could have asked for."

"Now," he continued, "I see nothing further that needs to be clarified. I shall send the written account of this meeting to the Secriat of State. It should be transferred into treaty-form and returned here shortly."

Venmec sorted his writings into a vinyl envelope, and slid them down a slit in the centre of the table.
