Debate over racial policies
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/Racism-1.jpg
Ve'ta Sa'soi - Government policies in regards to the nation of Questers have been called into question by a recent application for a referendum. The paper, which was signed by more than 1.2 million Alfegan citizens of voting age, requires that a referendum be held in light of the recent album released globally by the owners of the on-line music download site, The Pirate's Bay.
Hits on the site from the Alfegan network have been recorded at over 170 million in the first day alone, the highest ever recorded on a foreign site by Alfegan users, with a record 95 million downloads.
The album itself, "Agitation", was released as a protest by the website's users against the racist mindset of the white minority of Questers, with the hope of alerting the public to this. With this recent development, it certainly has had a response.
The Foreign Minister was unavailable for interview, but a statement released by the Ministry made it clear that "...all existing agreements between the two nations of Alfegos and Questers will not be called into question until the motion has been passed through senate."
The motion will be debated on August 24th, starting at 0800 hours.

Horror over Antigr
Airship Hi-jack results in Mass Panic
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/2006_1_12.jpg
We'soi Xha'loa - Yesterday at local midday times, many hearts were set racing in the Antigran capital as a hijacked airship threatened to crash into the capital.
The flight, SWAF-592, had over 130 people aboard when terrorists forced a hostile takeover of the control gondola, to the loss of lives of all but one member of the flight crew. Once in control, the airship was threatened to be crashed down into the Antigran capital unless a number of terms were met, including the release of numerous prisoners of the New Dawn terrorist organisation. The organisation, which was thought eradicated in the late 1980s in Alfegos, calls to question the Minstry of Internal Security's reliability, in addition to the gaping holes exposed in airport security.
The airship was reported as hijacked at around 1500 hours local time, where numerous eye-witnesses report a stand-off between the terrorists and the Antigran Airforce. We were able to interview one of witnesses, who wishes to remain anonymous.
"I first something was not routine with the flight passing over when I heard shouting coming from a group in the local park. I looked, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary until a few seconds later, when a bright red emergency flare was fired out of the side of the airship. A few minutes later, the entire place went into uproar as a group of fighter jets flew past. Obviously, negotiations between the terrorists and the government broke down, when the fighters strafed the side of the airship. They moved far back, so obviously some form of impasse was reached. A couple minutes later though, they were back, along with a government airship. We heard distant gunshots, obviously from the airship, so the airship must've been boarded. After about fifteen minutes, it started moving again, and all the passengers started jumping out."
Reports from the airport suggest the airship was badly damaged in the engagement, to the point that it had to undergo an emergency landing at the airport with all traffic inbound delayed until it was on the ground. Further unconfirmed reports from an anonymous tip suggest that three terrorists tried to escape the airship, one of them still unaccounted for and at large.
A spokesperson for Skyways Aero-transportation said that the incident will be looked into with the greatest care, and that all flights from their company and subsidiaries will be grounded until further notice.

A Shadow in the East
Gholgoth Starts Mobilisation
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/aircraft-carrier-02.jpg
Ve'ta Sa'soi - The sun shone brightly in the sky over Korronis as the massed naval forces of the nation of Automagfreek prepared to set sail. The very few Alfegans in the crowd stood quietly at the back as a bloodthirsty spectacle took place to signal the start of the mobilisation. Afterwards, it was possible to view the bloody corpses of captives from previous wars, sacrificed in a heathen ceremony supposed to bring fortune in the times ahead; a foreboding message of what is to happen soon.
Staff in the Alfegan embassy were hurriedly packing bags when the ANN returned, as security staff locked the gates behind us and took up defensive positions around the embassy. The First Secretary of the Ambassador was caught as she left in her Jaguar by our news team, and managed to give a hurried interview before speeding off. When asked as to why the staff were leaving, she pointed to the knowledge well known in Automagfreek for some time, though maybe not back at home: "The Gothic forces have, for a long time, been intent on world domination. As such, they have decided to start with a bang. The ships are sailing west: it is obvious what there intent is." Sketchy reports gathered from crowd members suggest that the fleet is sailing towards the region of Mediterranica, a large and prosperous region.
ANN was denied from interviewing any Automagfreek officials or citizens by the Ambassador, and soon were put on a plane with many other worried citizens back towards Alfegos. Said Pa'so Nik'la (31), "I thought it would be good to stay here since the place had settled down. Not any more it seems: Gholgoth is planning big this time, I can feel it. If my hunches are right, then my apartment in the capital is not likely to be standing when I return."
The Alfegos Foreign Ministry released a statement that "Alfegos will remain Neutral in the forthcoming conflict, unless any members of the Fegosian Union are implicated in this attack. If such an event happens, then war will be a certainty. All citizens in Gholgoth territories are urged to return to Alfegan territories for the duration of this conflict, and any travellers to Gholgoth destinations should exercise extreme caution". The Ministry failed to note in their statement that the nation of Gataway, a Union Member, was implicated in the forthcoming conflict.
