1235 hours, Gagarin Launch Pad, Adrograd

The Crimson rays of the sun cast an ominous glow over the bustling Gagarin Launch Pad. Hundreds of excited voices chattered and conversed as they eagerly awaited the coming of something cryptically referred to only as "Red Eclipse". Within the massive auditorium only a kilometer or so away from the launch site, countless Volzgradien Government officials waited and practiced their speeches as the fateful hour approached. Even President Vasili Kavinkov was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his topmost guest, none other then the leader of the fellow Socialist nation of Chernobl. If luck was on his side, then he would arrive within the next half an hour.

Unlike the tense political atmosphere in the auditorium, the scientists and workers simply wanted to get Red Eclipse launched. For the last 48 hours, they had worked frantically to make sure that there would be no complications during or after the launch. Many of the workers had even gone as far as fainting from exhaustion in order to get a break. Another key aspect would be presentation for the eager crowds watching. Since Red Eclipse was as much a propaganda tool as a weapon, it would NEED to make a fine entrance.

In the deepest confines of the Gagarin Bunker however, the Volzgradien General Staff conversed of this new weapons uses. "Red Eclipse is something that this nation needed for decades, a weapon that no Capitalist could strike. But also something that could strike that Capitalist right back!" shouted General Pavelovich as he gazed at the large LCD screen mounted on the concrete wall of the hushed conference room. "That maybe true, but how will we know that this weapon will even work? Those nukes on board certainly won't make for a safe ride." rebuked the aging Admiral Seskov as he tapped his fingers on the long stainless steel table. "Actually Comrade Seskov, several other nations have managed to successfully launch a similar weapon with little to no complications. If they can do it, we can to." replied General Tuchakevsky.

While the propaganda and political effects of Red Eclipse would be enormous, it would be the weapons killing power that would truly shock the world. For the last 10 years, both Volzgradien and Chernobl scientists had worked arduously on this fateful project. Overall, its design and purpose were relatively simple. Red Eclipse as the project was termed, was essentially a very large missile silo in space. Out of reach of attack, the weapon could launch a small thermonuclear device from the earth's orbit and have it impact its target within a few seconds thanks to the speed of descent and gravity. While its purpose was to be a deterrent against attack, Red Eclipse would also be a powerful weapon and propaganda tool.

Premier Goric Volgin rode in the HIND transport on his way to the Gagarin bunker. He was going to arrive right on time to the launch of the Red Eclipse weapons platform. His Faithful scientists along with thier Volzgradien allies had created a wonder of the world. The war machine could put anything from a bunker-buster to a thermo-nuclear Satan-IV ICBM to any location on the planet. This creation would be the pride of communist states everywhere. The HIND began to land on the assingned landing pad near the launch site. Volgin and his entrouge stepped out of the HIND and onto Volzgradien soil. He extended his hand to his old friend and ally Volzgradien President Vasili Kavinkov. "Greetings comrade!"

President Kavinkov shook Premier Volgin's hand vigorously, "Comrade, you're right on time. First however, we must have a drink!" After a few moments of exchanging pleasantries, Kavinkov led the way toward the looming auditorium only a few meters away from the helicopter pad. Naturally, it was expected that the two leaders would give a resounding speech before the historic launch of Red Eclipse.

Volgin and Kakinov stepped on to the stage. The Volzgradian military had put on a quite the demonstration. Every soldier held a torch and marched in the form of a Hammer & Sickle and then a star. Vasili explainedto Volgin that he would give his speech first and then Volgin would present his. The two men spoke as they were bombarded by camera flashes. The Volzgradiens finished their presentation as Vasili stepped up to the podium.

Situation Room, Presidential Palace, Oseato City, The Federation of Oseato

"So gentlemen, what is it now?" asked General Zackary Hamilton, President of the Oseato Federation, of his fellow generals. The Chief of the Air Force was the first to speak.

"Earlier today our recon satellites picked up increased activity at a launch pad in Volzgrad. We've been keeping an eye on them since the Blacktopian War and the Drozdogradien Conflict. We figured it was best if we were informed of any major actions that the Volzgradiens commenced, seeing as we always seem to be a step behind them." Turning to the displays behind him the general continued his briefing. "The satellites picked up what appears to be radio transmissions between Chernobl and Volzgrad culminating in what appears to be a massive celebration at the Gagarin Launch Pad in Adrograd. We still don't know exactly what is going on, but it will definitely be made clear once this thing gets into space."

The President thought it over for a little bit. "Is it a weapon system of some sort? How do we know this isn't a preemptive strike on someone, or on us for that matter?" Hamilton questioned.

"Quite frankly sir, we don't know. We're preparing our ABM satellites for a possible intercept. I'm not sure what the other services are doing." Replied the Air Force general.

The Chief Naval Officer was quick to respond. "The Navy is preparing to move the 2nd Fleet into the theatre. We think we can program the SM3 missiles to intercept this platform before it can get into orbit."

"Alright," Hamilton said standing up, "We'll take both of those actions, in the mean time keep watching the events. The moment the thing is launched and we can identify it, let me know." On that note the briefing ended and the Oseato forces were on the move.

"Sir, we are picking up a Oseato Military signal, they are threatening to shoot down Red Eclipse." "They can't do that its against international law!"
"Sir what should we do?" "Well the Red Eclipse is equiped with Ballistic missle and laser defense systems programed to shoot any hostile missle near or around it to pieces." "Will those systems be in effect for launch?" the General asked. "Yes sir." the radio operator replied. "But we also picked up a signal showing the movement of their navy." the radio operator said rather nervously. "Send Oseato High Command a signal warning them that if the dont leave CVA territory we will take action." "Yes sir!" "Tell them they have 24 hours to comply before we take military action." (OOC: *Cough* Cuban Missle Crisis *Cough* lol)

Vasili was just about to step onto the stage when one of his guards grabbed him by the shoulder. He was just about to scold the man before the guard handed him a dented two way radio. Not knowing what to expect, Vasili but the radio to his ear and asked, "Hello? This better be important or I'll have the head of whoever interrupted me!"

A few seconds passed before a familiar voice began to respond, "Comrade Kavinkov, Chernobl High Command has notified us of a possible Oseatan retaliation upon the launch of Red Eclipse. The defense systems mounted on the platform can defend it too a decent degree, but I recommend taking diplomatic action rather then military action for this instance." After letting loose a string of violent curses, Kavinkov picked up the radio again, "Agreed. I want an open channel with the Oseatan Government ASAP. Tell the people that the launch will remain on schedule without the speeches. Entertain them with another parade or something."

"Vasili what do you think of this?" Volgin asked.

Vasili looked grim as he responded to Volgin's question, "Volgin, I really don't know. If your intelligence is correct, then the Oseatans have no idea what the Red Eclipse is meant to do. We might be able to trick them into thinking it's a satellite or space station, but more likely then not, they'll find out the truth. It's really hard not to notice a giant orbital missile silo."

'Well we also designed it for research and communications like cell phones. So they cant shoot it down without backlash from the WA... Right?"

"And they would have to deal with our superior military forces."

"I suppose so. The WA is weak and incompetent however, so don't expect anything to major to happen to Oseato. At least we have an excuse for them not to shoot it down. Both of our nations have much larger armies then Oseato so we also have a trump card up our sleeve." Replied Vasili as he straightened his Ushanka

"As I stated before both our armies are better trained, equipped and we are both larger than Oseato."

"It would be very foolish for him to engage us."

"Indeed, it would be suicidal for the Oseatans to attack us. I've had enough of this politica, I believe it is time for us to watch the remainder of the parades." replied Kavinkov as he light up another cigar.

"Good comrade." Volgin said pulling out a flask and downing a swig.

Situation Room, Presidential Palace

An aide hurried down the halls of the Presidential Palace to the study that Hamilton used as his office. As he came to the door that lead to the study the aide slowed down, straightened out his suit and carefully knocked on the door.

"Come in." shouted Hamilton. The aide walked in and stood before him ready to give him the report.

"Sir, Chernobl has sent us a communication. The message says that unless we withdraw from the area within the next 24 hours they will take military action against us."

"Where is our fleet?" asked Hamilton.

"In international waters, sir. They've been very careful about it." responded the aide.

"Alright, let Chernobl know we are in international waters and have every right to stay there. Inform them that we will match any act of aggression and will defend ourselves in full. Notify the Adm. Horn of the developing situation and that he may defend himself as he sees fit. Now is there any message from the Volzgradiens?" said Hamilton.

"No sir, not yet."

"Alright, well inform me when they do respond. In the mean time..." Hamilton rubbed his head as he thought, "you are dismissed."

OOC: Now wait a second, I have to state my own losses, you can't just claim I offered no/little resistance and that you sunk every single last one of the 40 ships that make up the Oseaton 2nd fleet, let alone while it was in international waters, where it has every right to be. Now shall we try that again?

OOC: No I haven't sent any TGs since I asked Volzgrad if I could join. Now how about we try that assault on my ships this time, without the Godmoding if you will.

OOC: yeah Il spare your fleet i just didn't realize the amount you had sent. no harm done all the posts are gone.

OOC:Yet to be honest I dont know why you went looking for war in the first place. We are both larger, stronger, and better equiped. Now I dont know about your training but our standards for recruits are pretty high. It all seems somewhat foolish.

OOC:If you want to fight than so be it but its not quite the smart decision.

OOC: Yes, My fleet is rather large, I'm still in the process of updating my ORBATs. I always look for a good conflict to become involved in. You two may have been larger than I am, but my forces are pretty well trained and equipped, I mean 71% of my national budget goes to Defense and Law and Order. The Oseaton Federation Military is not to be taken lightly. Plus, I like to be active and that way my nation gets out there and becomes more known.

OOC: I understand where your coming from im the same way. But i too have EXTRMELY well trained Forces. Heck my national police force is basically another military.

Official Communique from the Volzgradien Government

We in Volzgrad thank the Oseatan Government for its wise and peaceful decision. I doubt anyone on either side would wish for a war to break out between our nations for a situation as petty as this. We assure the Oseatan Government that the Red Eclipse is to be used solely for defense of my and Mr. Volgin's nations.
