I could maybe jump in. A DEV hiding in orbit, some Myenyans infiltrated the population and sight-seeing/meddling/enjoying the war :P

As I mentioned in our chat before, I am okay with that, as long as they can stealth from their sensors, its fine. ^^. However, how will they prevent themselves from not being seen as nonhuman? Four arms is weird and they dont know aliens exist to boot.

Another "Parallel Earth"... Would a 2169 Hard Sci-fi tech large fleet but having little of combat spacecrafts and more of transport ones with a dozen of divisions be too much? I'll mail you with details if you agree(The "Military" link shows how they are more of a PMT ground force).
Solar Communes early FT history is similar to your Intro. Except it is based on the near collapse of civilization because of the Long Emergency followed by the near-extinction of mankind in World War 3 and by a conflict with a global police State risen from the wastelands.
Well, what would that huge fleet be doing there, SC? Details, man, details! ^^ I don't mind, as long as I know what you plan on happening and I agree with it.

It was the first and last attempt to reach Global State (http://www.nationstates.net/page=display_nation/nation=Global%20State) controlled Sol through the Warp. It was a force intended to quickly secure key planets in Sol and eventually Earth itself should it be proved possible FTL travel while Global State forces were busy heading to Alpha Centauri, but it never reached the intended destination.

Probably something more than these guys are, but not more than 5 relatively unimpressive ships, and a significantly larger(say approximately 6,000 or so) number of troops. I can explain everything if you're curious. And ever on MSN the same time I am. :p

By the looks of it it's first contact between a variety of cosmic powers and a wor-torn alternate Earth. Tel's is sort of loosely based on Battlefield 2145, I think.
