The World Soviet Party
16-08-2008, 23:29
Current President: Alejandro Aszenmil (NSP)

Parties:

Name: New Socialist Party (NSP)
Candidate: Alexander Nevskij
Ideology and beliefs: The New Socialist Party has dominated politics in The World Soviet Party ever since the nation's return to democracy during the late 70s and early 80s. They have a clearly defined ideology, which stands for a sort of "market socialism", which is aimed at protecting both the work and the industries by proper and fair regulations.
The currently stands in favour of state welfare, socialized health care and free education, as well as a continuation of other economic policies active as of now.
The new candidate has, however, made public his intention to cut back on the defense spending.

Name: Liberal Union
Candidate: David Smith
Ideology and beliefs: The Liberal Union has made it very clear that they intend to win the upcoming elections, and thus are open for foreign donations, albeit secretly as they are banned in The World Soviet Party.
As usual, they stand for a nation-wide privatization of services, including Soviet Arms Corporation, one of the hallmarks of the nation, as well as hinting that the same should be done with the Armed Forces.

Name: Capitalist Party
Candidate: Francisco Garcia
Ideology and beliefs: The Capitalist Party is one of the biggest in the nation, right behind the New Socialists, and they tend to work as the opposition, even though they have supported the current government from time to time, depending on the circumstances.
They are more moderate than the Liberals, not wanting to completely stomp out welfare and still believing in a somewhat-regulated market, although with more freedom granted to corporations.

Name: Communist Party of The World Soviet Party
Candidate: Pyotr Kozlov
Ideology and beliefs: Brother, yet rival of the past leader of the Liberal Union, Kozlov rules his Party as he would do his nation, with an iron hand. A firm believer in Stalinist policies, he has announced his intent to return the nation to it's former "glory" before the democratization process of the 70s, there's no further need for explanations.

Name: PD Party (Pro-Doomanum)
Candidate: Jvlivs Agrippa
Ideology and beliefs: As it's name states, this new addition to the Soviet politics, beliefs that the country would be better under Doomani rule, and therefore, has made clear his intention of handing control to the Doomani as soon as he wins the elections.
They have very close ties to the local Doomani Church and the Pro-Doomani groups that started appearing since the outbreak of the last Havenic Wars.

Name: Anglo Party
Candidate: Tom R. Patel
Ideology and beliefs: Acting as a counter of the PD Party, the Anglos ideology is clearly defined by the phrase "Do anything the Questarians or Praetonians tell us to do". Their policies are, therefore, quite basic, following the lines of the Liberal Union but going a little further.

Name: Tea Party
Candidate: Leon N. Peacock
Ideology and beliefs: A breakaway of the Anglo Party, these people really like tea and anything having to do with tea. Currently endorsing tea as the new national currency.

There is nothing more liberating than drinking a tea while discussing politics freely in a pub, eating fish n' chips with malt vinegar, like my British father once taught me during one of our rides through the highway pondering why the wrong way in northern Third Spanish States roads and streets is at the right rather than at the left, even though the North is arguably less "leftist" than South Third Spanish States, where roads have the opposite wrong way of here. Thus, I offer my personal support to the Tea Party, because I am an avid purveyor of stereotypes.
