Mission in Canedian Island (Closed|MT)
It had been a week since the 12,000 troops had been deployed to keep peace in the by now stabilizing Canedian Island. After a few months of war, including a blockade for the last month, the region had become unsure of its future. The Uir were only 12,000 of the peacekeepers. A total of 53,400 peacekeepers had been supplied by the nations of Lynion, Leitsung, Salzland, Il Korea and Uiri. It was an enormous gesture of goodwill, especially by Lynion who had experienced a nuclear attack from the Canedians.
Having to pay large reparations had left the Canedian government with less resources to re-build what had been destroyed by Congarian bombings. The Congarians had started the war unprovoked and had been nuked along with Lynion. Congaree had recieved nothing in reparations, both the Canedians and the Uir felt that they got what they deserved. Right now though the focus was peace and re-building a nation ravaged by the international community.
The Uir had been the first to come to the Canedians aid but due to a misunderstanding had switched against them and allowed the East Congarians to go free after demanding that Canedian island become a 'dominion' of theirs. The Uir felt that 'dominion' was just another name for colony or protectorate. The blockade had been set-up by Salzland when the Uir had turned against the Canedians.
The blockade had lasted a while, but after negotiations, the Uir were allowed to land troops and logistics. In the meantime many nations had joined the blockade and Ralkovia had even come to aid the Canedians. It wasn't long however before East Congaree came to demand a large portion of Canedian Island. This was unacceptable for the Uir and so they basically switched sides in the conflict.
Leistung too switched sides, mostly due to something the Uir had which the Congarians lacked - nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles. Others two changed sides and before long it was only Ursava, Rithian and EC standing against the rest of the nations. Peace was soon negotiated, including $1.1 billion US in reparations to Lynion. This was a turning point. The blockade was almost all but broken up and the four nations who had spearheaded the blockade sent peacekeepers to Canedian Island. Il Korea who had joined late also sent a small force of 4,400.
Now though, the effort was clearly beginning to pay off as things in Canedian Island began to normalize. The nuclear silos had been dismantled and the team of 8 from Lynion who had come to inspect said silos dismantle had seen that. Colonel Judoson still had a long peace action ahead of him as the Canedians still needed their help. It was also unsure whether or not General Hardwood would demand control again; now that the conflict was over and re-building had begun.

General Robert Hester stood alongside the Salzland Container Vessel Trader as another component of the 8th Mechanized Division was unloaded for peacekeeping operations in Canedian Army. Just a short time before, the Government of Salzland was at the forefront of maintaining a tenuous international alliance aimed at forcing the Canedians to give up their Weapons of Mass Destruction programs. That alliance was gone now, replaced by a handful of nations determined to ensure that Canedian Army no longer pose a threat to international stability, without resorting to outright destuction of the small nation.
A Salzland Defense Force M1A2 Abrams tank rolled past the General as he contemplated recent events. East Congaree had shown up, and along with certain other nations had demanded their pound of flesh from the Canedians. A reaction many had deemed justified. The international community could not, however, justify parceling the small Canedian nation up, no matter how offensive the conduct of its government was. Which was what resulted in the deployment of over 50,000 peacekeepers, desperately trying to bring Canedian Army into compliance.
"We're not welcome here," Hester muttered, as his aide-de-camp Colonel Oliver Brent walked over.
"How do you figure, sir?" He asked, following a prompt exchange of salutes.
"Look at the people, you can see the resentment in their eyes. They want us out, and they want us out now. We're only being tolerated, because we're a burden that they have to bear. We have our work cut out for us if we want to accomplish anything here. Which is why SDF Command deployed us, I suppose. Always up for a challenge, right Ollie?"
"Yes sir, General. I also wanted to report to you that, once the Trader is unloaded, the entire division will be fully deployed and ready to take over our peacekeeping sector."
"Excellent. Let's get to work."

"As of today the delcaration of war between the Vamperial Kingdom and the Nation of Canedian Army is over," started King Vamp over the intercom. "This war was nothing more but the Cold War we once saw between the Soviet Union and the United States of America. However, because of the recent conflict of the destruction of Canedian, Lynion has put forward 12,000 men from Lynion and Fungi. The remaining men will be dirverted to Lynx Colony to engage the recent Pirate Attacks," finished King Vamp.
Rathma smiled as the other Lynion's smiled at the speech given just moments ago. His mechaincal body and eyes turned to the Fungi Master as they watched the last of the silo's being dismanlted.
"Hey, Jonathan," started Rathma as his armour covering over his face came down. "The war is over and bloodshed has being avoided,"
"It isn't just that Rathma," started Jonathan. "We still have a country to re-build,"
"Hey you two," started a voice over the intercom as Jonathan and Rathma stopped. "I'm leaving Rathma in charge of Peace-Keeping Operations. It also seems we've being reconigsed for our actions as well. I'll be going to Lynx to help finish off the Pirates stationed around the colony. I'll be seeing you back in Lynion,"
"Don't get sunk Kennedy," replied Rathma as communications finished. "Hey Colonel Judoson, do you think the general will get back into power?"

It was a sad day for Canedia, because: There old head of the nation, General HardWood II, was killed by a drunken driver. The General was hit by the car, dying in a second.
The news spread fast, and soon the family heard it. The oldest sun of the dead General, woud take his place as head of the army. After the peacekeepers left, later, General HardWood III woud become the head of the nation. General HardWood III was now standing beside Uiri's new goverment. The Canedian people where not that happy with all the soldiers walking around, but the general didnt care.
"I am happy you all arrived so fast, to help our nation, destroyed and weak, rebuilding.
I am ofcourse, very happy, with the end of this war.
We will give you all, the best places to sleep we can give you.
If there is anything we can do for you, just say it."
The Canedian people did had a lot of trubble, and fear, and unhappines lately.
That is becuase, canedian people, fathers needed to defend the nation, people died and woman where sad. This was all over, however the people where scared, that East Congaree woud attack again.
"No, Rathma, I do not. I think perhaps we may have a democracy afterall. I mean, look around the city. People are scared. They think they could be killed any second; that is true but the fact that they know it just makes all that much worse. We have 400 Leclerc tanks, 600 VABs, 400 VBLs, 100 VBCIs and 400 M270 rocket artillery crawling the country. Its been a week and we still aren't sure we have the island mapped out. We just have to keep peace and hope for the best..." Judoson answered the vampire's question, trailing off into deep thought. Did they have enough peacekeepers? He doubted that but the Uir needed proof of some form of success before larger deployments could take place.

To: Uiri
From: General HardWood III.
We thank you for make peace here. We like this way of peace, but we are setting me as the lord here after all this. I am in this nation, the rightful owner, leader and lord.
However, we agree that a democracy is good sometimes. So, we will let the people vote about some things. About taxes, cars, money and court. That kind of stuff. I will be the head here, i a not my father. I will change this.
O, and that drunken driver, that killed my father, was one of the rebels. We regret to say this, we ask you what to do.
OOC: You can't say one of my people killed one of yours if I don't agree to it. How about it is, say, a rebel who hijacked one of our VBLs (basically the french version of a Humvee with amphibious properties and mine & NBC protection.)?

Yes we have. The car hitted the general, than crashed into a house, killing none, wounding one.
We found fingerprints, what happens to him?
I ams not happy with him ,and he is a rebel anyway. I say we execute him, to show everybody that rebels are not accepted.
TO: General Hardwood III
FROM: Colonel Judoson
We did not wish to say it so bluntly, but yes, punishment for murder is death by the same way the offender killed. This means he shall be run over by a VBL. Hand him over to our troops and we shall do it in the middle of the desert. We shall bring back the head to put it in front of our government office to show that rebels aren't tolerated.

Yes. He will be brought to your troops as we speak. Bring his head, put it on a stick, and write on a board under it:
This was a rebel, this is what he become.
Thank you.
The troops did so. It was not a hard task, and they had fulfilled their orders. The sight of troops traveling in their truck, holding the head out the window was a disgusting sight and some of the troops guarding the streets knew that this was still a war, albeit one they had not fought before. The head was placed in an airtight back to prevent decay and hold in the smell. The stick was placed under it and the sign read "This is the fate of all rebels"

That is good, we are in a kind of war against rebels now?
I suppose, that rebels will be hung or something. We will not allow our people to stand against our ally's. We coud shoot them, and than place a big box in the midle of the city, a box that keeps in the smell, but where you can look trough. We trow every dead rebel in it, and a list of names beside it. We will not allow those rebels to kill people, or even to exist. But maybe we coud take somebody, and make him a spy?
Taking his brother as a prisoner, and if we spy's for us, he will be set free after a year?

OOC: I am going to have dinner, than i am off to something esle, i will return later.
The Uir troops were uneasy. There was clearly a rebel presence in the city and they were there to keep peace, not break it. They had to remember that they were soldiers first and peacekeepers second however as they had a job to do - stabilize the Canedian Island. If they could eradicate every last rebel then they would be able to stabilize the area quicker. It all made perfect sense except that now this wasn't going to be such a peace action anymore.
Some of the peacekeepers wondered if there were rebl movements in other cities. They didn't have much means of getting to other cities ((OOC: unless you have rail/road between cities)) so it would be difficult to tell. They would have to suck it up. Afterall, there were 50,000 peacekeepers throughout the country. The ratio of peacekeepers to citizens was no where near that of police to citizens in Uiri - very far off - but it was still a high ratio, high enough that they would be able to squash the rebels like the scum the rebels were.

A single Platoon belonging to the 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit was assigned to Patrol the main highway between two cities in Canedia.
"Sir we've got an incoming message from command..." said Pvt. Jhoon'
"Go ahead.."
The incoming message stated there was a rebel group operating in the country, with plans to over throw the Peace Keeping forces.
They continued driving along the road for about another mile when an RPG flew across a nearby field, flying into the dirt road in between two armored Humvees.
"Ambush!!!!" yelled one of the soldiers, and before long AK-47 fire errupted along the field, with rounds smacking into the vehicles. The mounted .50 calibur guns aimed towards the fire and returned fire, with the Marines inside the Humvees aiming their M-16s towards the enemy and firing as well.
"Command this is 3rd Platoon...we are taking heavy fire! Repeat we are taking heavy fire from unknown enemy forces, need assistance over!"
"3rd Platoon this is Command, we are sending air support your way over!"
The platoon continued to return fire, when another RPG was fired off and slammed into one of the Humvees, killing 2 marines and wounding 3 others.
Command sent one AH-1 SuperCobra to help provide support to the ambushed platoon.
The ambushed platoon continued to fire and sped away from the ambush as fast as possible, with 6 other marines reported wounded. They radioed in the coordinates to the AH-1 SuperCobra, that later identified around 30 rebel fighters wearing street clothes and armed with AK-47 assault rifles. The helicopter fired the M197 3 Barrelled Gattling Gun into the rebel fighters below along with two 70mm MK40 rockets to finish them off. They went by for three more passes and determined the rebels were in fact killed off. In the meantime the Marines quickly returned to one of the base camps setup in the area and received aid. The wounded were then transported to the hospital to receive care.

OOC: Canedian, you generally can't claim casualties for anyone other than your own forces. Otherwise it's condiered God-moding, because you're determining the results of your attacks against someone else.
This is how your post should look:
A handful of nationalist Canedian Army rebels stalked through a field of tall grass, towards a nearby road. Every night for the last week a small unit of IFOR (International Force) Peacekeepers patroled the road, to ensure that the rebels weren't using it to transport men and supplies. Tonight, the IFOR patrol would be attacked.
"Open fire!" One rebel yelled, spraying an approaching Peacekeeper vehicle with automatic weapons fire. The vehicle immediately pulled off the road, as the troops inside piled out and returned fire.
(Peacekeeper responds. Peacekeeper would probably take 1-2 casualties in the opening volley, and claim them in his response. Peacekeeping troops would then engage the rebels).
(Your second post. You claim casualties from the Peacekeeper response, then decide to pull out, having accomplished your objective of disrupting Peacekeeper patrols, at a cost of 75% casualties)
Edit: Also, it helps when you identify which Peacekeeper you're attacking, so that we don't all start typing responses to an attack conducted by 4 people.

Here canedian army at rebel base, we can hold out.
We coud win this from them, but than we woud all dead. We will wait for you.
CA soldiers! Lynion troops are coming to help us!
Now, return fire!
After this, a rebel jumped forwand with 2 loaded ak-47's. Shooting an killing, he was hit by CA soldiers.
His weapon, was still fireing when the rebel fell on the ground.
Here colonel tjchekye! We are taking heavy fire!
Hide!
A rebel had put some dynamites on themself, running to the Canedians, and ready to blow up. He was hit in his arm when he was coming, and one time in his shoulder.
A Luitanant hit him in the head, just before he was at the CA sodliers, the rebel blow himself...
Body parts of the rebel flew around, some CA soldiers, flew into the air, dead at once...
After the report of the death of General Hardwood III, it is clear that the only one fit to lead the Canedian military is the highest ranking officer. There shall be democracy once the peacekeepers pull out, for the simple reason that clearly, the Hardwoods cannot help getting killed.
The Lynion's flanked the enemy position as they came across the rebel hideout. Captain Andrew Law flanked the hideout as they waited for the report from the response from the Canedians about the situation. Law studied the situation as the first of the cannons on the spider blasted away at the hideout.

"Papa One-One, this is Dauntless Actual. Request for Allied Close Air Support in Sector Three-Able, over," came the call over the radio, as a pair of SDF F/A-18 SuperHornets circled high over Canedian Army.
"Roger that Actual, moving to support the ground pounders," was the reply, as Captain Ryan Howard pushed the throttle forward to full military power. His wingman did the same, as both jets shot through the sky, heading towards a large engagement between Canedian Army units and the Peacekeepers on one side, and the rebels on the other.
"Targets marked," called out the wingman as both jets levelled out, each preparing to drop a pair of 500 pound laser guided bombs.
"Bombs away, bombs away!" replied Howard, before pulling into a steep turn, as routine, just in case anyone on the ground had a shoulder-launched SAM. Both jets dumped flares and chaff behind them to act as additional decoys, as their bombs dropped towards the rebel targets on the ground.

Two Regiments from the 1st Infantry Division arrived at the battle between the Canedian forces and the Rebels. More Air support was brought forth from the MEUs with their AH-1W SuperCobra attack helicopters. With the gallic guns equipped on the sides of all 8 attack helicopters, they flew down to a lower altitude and opened fire on the rebel building. They then increased their altitude and flew off, preparing for the next pass. The Il Korean Marines came up from the right flank of the Canedian Army.
"Bossman actual this is Bossman 3-4 over."
"Bossman 3-4 this is Bossman actual, go ahead."
"Bossman actual, we've got a good sight on the enemy forces up ahead, suggesting the Bradleys move in first over."
"Bossman 3-4 the Kingpin approves, standby for Armored vehicles."
And so the infantry regiments haulted and picked up defense positions as four Bradley M1A1 Tanks drove past. They setup positions around the Terrorist headquarters and fired their main cannons into the area, destroying whatever cluster of soldiers, or pieces of armor they could find. The SuperCobras made a second pass and fired off two rockets a piece, totalling in 16 rockets fired into the rebel forces area. The Attack Helicopters then returned to the Assault Vehicles on the coast. In the meantime, the two infantry regiments pushed forward closer to the city. The armored LAV-25 transports dropped their doors and allowed the 4,000 marines to take up positions.
"Incoming!" shouted Burns over the intercom as the spiders back off for a moment. "We got incoming bombs!"
"Copy that skipper," replied Andrew as he ordered the spider to pull back.
The companies pulled back a bit as the bombs exploded first. They shielded their eyes as they waited for a comfirm report about the current situation.

The CA soldiers, not leaded by a captain named John restuky, was taking heavy fire from rebels. The Soldiers where keeping pinned down by rebels, and the rebels where shot by CA soldiers.
Here captain Restuky! We are taking heavy fire! Need help!
Send the peacekeepers in! Send the peacekeepers in!
Rebels:
Here: Waldo! Repeat: Waldo!
Bring some of the bombs, we need them to take the CA people out.
I will get some. I rebel shood up, to get a bomb, but was hit in the back by a CA soldier.
We lost him! Yelled a soldier after looking less than a second to him.
Somebody get some bombs!
I will get some!
Shit! There arrives a movement car of CA elites!
What a suprise, they always come at the moment we dont want them!
Pull back! Repeat: Pull Back!
The Rebels shood up to run away, many where shot, and more got shot running.
The CA soldiers where wounded to, so most where not hunting the rest.
CA:
I will go hunting! AA-46, follow me!
Elites! Go with them!
Around 120 man headed in the way the rebels where gone.
Dude! Check those body's! Yelled a soldier, pointing to the rebel side.
Go count them!
I will, john, wanna help me?
Sure.
How many we lost ourselfs?
Much.
Howmany?
Around 800 i think.
And howmany rebels? Now only 400 counted, but they only done around the half, lets say: 800 or 900.
Copy that.
Everybody: Go hunt them, or if you are wounded, go to the base.

With the orders given from the top levels of the Il Korean government, the Marines haulted their attack on the rebels. Whatever food rations were left over were kept for their own country. The 23,400 Marines packed everything and headed back to Il Korea.

Aha. I see.
OOC: Don't worry about EC Canedian. He's got a heck of a lot of troops to get past before taking on you if he invades the island.
OOC: 24,000 from Uiri alone. And don't worry about me. I have 4 or 5 nations backing me up already.
"Report," asked Vamperial Grand Headmaster Lee King.
"This is Vamperial Guardian Knight Rathma Reaper reporting in," started Rathma over the intercom. "The convoy landed just a few minutes ago and the prototypes have being unloaded. We've tighten security and the extra 5,000 Lynion Hunters and 6,000 Regulars have helped with keeping the natives at bay,"
"Has the fighter jet being tested?" asked Lee in a deathly tone.
"No sir," replied Rathma. "The fighter jet hasn't being tested but we don't know how long until the locals bring in their media to check it out. If the media do come what are we to do with them?"
"Lynion bases are protected by the Vamperial Kingdom Code of Mass Media. No matter how famous, well known or liked, reporters and spies are to be kept off the base at all times. Any caught in the process will have their equipment conferscated and they have no authorty over us Rathma," replied Lee as the transmission ended.
Rathma turned around as he looked out from the Control Tower onto the runway as the first of the Interceptor's were being tested for engine power and their weapons capability. With this sort of fighter in the air, their airspace would be secure, or so the theory went.

At 2 o'clock in the morning the men of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry huddled inside their quarters getting rest for the evening. Very few were out tonight except for those in the watch towers and at the gates for night shift. Things were going well thus far. The citizens seemed to be calming down, and hopefully once this war was overwith between East Congree, Canedia and Uiri then these men could go home and not have to think about their families anymore.
Pfc. Kang stood at the front gate smoking a ciggarette, bullshitting with the other sentry at the gate, when a mortar landed 15 feet away from him.
"Holy shit!!! Take cover!" The men ran inside their quarters after setting off the alarm on the base. The loud pitched noise echoed from the speakers surrounding the base which meant ther ewas a mortar attack. Another mortar landed just outside of the walls, a tad closer than the first one. Then the third hit one of the guard towers, leaving two soldiers torn in half. The mortars continued to pound the base as the soldiers were all now well awake and took cover. Some of the guards from the tower however were able to find out where the fire was coming form before taking cover.
After the mortar attack stopped, the men quickly went into the towers to see if the men who were hit survived, but found that they made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. They quickly ventured into the other watch towers to search the perimeter of the base to see if they could pick up any of the rebels fleeing, and indeed they did. They headed north towards a small mountainous region. The two soldiers killed were loaded onto a helicopter and returned to Il Korea, and their families were notified. It was time to take out these terrorists once and for all.
OOC: How did the rebels get artillery? >.>
OOC: wouldn't they get it off the Black Market??

OOC:
Yea, black market, stealing that kind of stuff.
OOC: if it was stealing who was the equipment stolen from? The Black Market can be easy, can buy most things these days. Well almost anything. Well...just a few things.
Canedian Army
18-08-2008, 14:53
I dont know, come on, they coud steal it from the army of something, but i suppose the Black Market...
OOC: I don't know about your forces, but my forces would kill everyone found in a black market. It still doesn't make sense if we are doing our jobs properly.

ofcourse i am killing the black market as good as i can, but still you can buy some, from the mob of gangsters of something. I dont know...
Jack of Spades, Matthew King, climbed into the cockpit of the Sonic Intercepter as he fired up the engines as he started to taxi to the end of the runway. The objective of the mission was to recon the area and test the Interceptor ability, movement and weapon system. The jet took off in a hurry as it was being watched by the eyes of the Control Tower but didn't appear on the radar. Matthew bought the jet up as it soared into the skies at Mach 1 speed. He was filled with excitment as the jet went through a cloud before he started to pick something on radar.
'Go check it out Matt,' said his inner spirit.
'Sure, just wait for a moment before we ask them to identify themselves,' thought Matt back to himself.

TO: All Peacekeeping Forces in Canedian Island
The Uir peacekeepers are pulling out immediately. The Canedians seem intent on destroying themselves, do not interfere and follow our lead of removing troops. We apologize to all the brave soldiers who lost their lives that their sacrifice was not appreciated by the Canedians and that they have in effect died in vain for it appears as though peace shall never be brought to the Canedian Isle.

To: David Aposon, President of Uiri
From: Office of the Minister for Foreign Relations
Sir,
Having just received your message, we acknowledge your decision and wish to announce that we are pulling our Peacekeepers out of Canedian Army as we speak. We are sorry to see that it appears we were correct that Peacekeeping efforts would fail to effect the intended reforms, but are glad that our forces will be able to extract safely.
It was a pleasure to work alongside you through this endeavor, and it is our sincere hope that our co-operation extends into the future.
Signed,
J. Marcus Davis
