Extending a welcome

Ulanpataar

Rombuyo, the head admiral and leader of ulanpataar, was sitting in his office. It was very warm inside, despite a raging blizzard outside the windows. Also in the office was Rombuyo's brother, Seqirk, head marhsall. And in the corner was Tiniq Ponou, head of the air force. These men were enjoying imported scotch and cigars, giving the room a foggy haze, when they decided to hold a diplomatic session.

There were mortar shells falling in the background, but the men learned to ignore most of the fundamentalist fighting, they were weak. The secretary was yelled at for standing idly in his seat, and soon was told to write out a E-mail to all heads of state he was able to gather contact information in. Within thirty minutes the secretary was finished.

To: Leaders of the World
From:The Most Serene Republic of Ulanpataar
Reason: Diplomatic Relations
______
Our glorious nation has ties to it's region. But, with the church of ulanpataar laid to rubble, it has been decided that we open our relations even more further. Bring a coat, and follow the border patrol escort, I plan on many nations to come together at this meeting
____

The email showed the near isolated arctic island with a red dot on it, showing the location of the capitol.

When the E-mail from Ulanpataar came in, it was decided that Lamoni would send someone to the island to at least determine the conditions on the ground there. In preperation for this, a response was drafted, and sent.

After receiving your message, we have decided to send a diplomatic representative to Ulanpataar. The name of our representative is Lou Weiss, and he will arrive in your nation aboard the Stinson class SSN, FRLS Barracuda. We would like to know where our submarine can deposit our diplomatic representative.

A second map was shone, a red dot on the coast was shone representing the coastal city of Perusiatsiarkkolu and a red line representing a railroad line that went to Iyaroak. The coast guard awaited the guests, and they were glad they were using a submarine because they did not want to clear a path in the ice off the northeastern coast. A message was sent, asking if the man would rather arrive in Iyaroak by a helicopter or rail

OOCL I want to make a note: my nation is currently at war, and officially this topic is taking place before that. (http://z1.invisionfree.com/forums/Wysterian_Forum/index.php?showtopic=6156&st=15)

The FRLS Barracuda surfaced near the Coast Guard assets stationed near Perusiatsiarkkolu, and offloaded Mr. Weiss. He had a small radio transmitter with him that would signal the submarine if he were in trouble.

In the Lamonian reply message, they selected the helicopter option.

A Pataari-made helicopter landed within twenty meters from the foreign guest. There was a translator inside who -one the foreigner to climb in- asked if the man was cold and laughed. The helicopter quickly rose from the ground, and soon the ground rushed by as the helicopter went towards Iyaroak. As it landed, a jolly bearded man greeted the diplomat. He asked if he wanted a cigar, and walked into a building. Inside the building was very warm compared to the outside. Romboyu just wished that more people would have come.

Weiss smiled when he was asked if he was cold. "No," he said, "i've been to cold places before. This is almost warm in comparison." This was accompanied by a good natured chuckle. "My name is Lou Weiss, and it is a pleasure to be the first Lamonian to experience your country firsthand."

Weiss politely declined the offer of a cigar; he didn't smoke. "However, if you have any alcohol, that would be welcome."

Mr. Weiss looked around the building, and decided that it looked sturdy enough. He never would have made a great architect, but he was a practical man; which was a rarity in the diplomatic field.

The building it self showed it's wooden supports, it was just a step ahead of using a hide wall. The admiral handed a bottle that held a clear liquid and smelled strongly of pine labeled "Yungnarlangayok". There were a few guards holding antiquated looking rifles. The admiral spoke in a thick accent "So how is Lamoni, Mr. Lou Weiss?"

"The Free Republic is doing fine, thank you, sir. We are a nation with a population of over 12 Billion; located in the region of Atlantian Oceania. We currently have 113 foreign embassies in our nation, so we feel that we are fairly well connected to the outside world. We even have our own world recognized armaments company, called LAIX Arms.

But what of your country? What is Ulanpataar like, and what sort of direction would you like to move your nation in?"
Ulanpataar

"Well, I just stabilized the nation after terrorists attempted to seize power, they were against the former theocracy. There have been many other events that I had to straighten out. We are stabilizing - despite some traitor fundamentalists who seem to not want to stabilize - we have a few used embassies, we are mainly connected to Wysteria. But our connections get a bit foggy once you get beyond the region." The man said, after taking a puff from his cigar. He took a drink from the 'Yungnarlangayok'. An he added something to say "And we have 411 million people who claim this land as their motherland."

"What sort of government would we be seeing in Ulanpataar when the war ends?"
Ulanpataar
24-08-2008, 19:55
"It depends - it is not just fighting external enemies, it is also fighting off the fundamentalists. The future is unknown, and full of possibility. Instead of theorizing of what is to come, it is probably better to find out what will happen. Though by jingo the fundamentalist traitors shall never take charge again."

"Then we shall speak of the present. What would you like from us? Simple diplomatic relations coupled with an embassy exchange, or something more?"
