(OoC: This thread, along with the other within the "Task Force Emissary" series run consecutively in the Laceenian timeline, but I've decided to run then concurrently for a few reasons, most notably that if I ran them one after the other it would take sooo long to finish the entire lot we could be running NationStates 6. So please no comments of "OMG! Ur leaders are in lots of nations at once I call godmod!!!", because I'll just ignore you anyway so you'd be risking RSI for nothing. Thank you, now on to the thread itself.)

Task Force Emissary, International Waters
"Next on the tour is The Emirate of Sultenia. In front of you, you should each find a dossier containing all the information we have on hand about the nation. We've recently sent a message requesting details for our arrival, and are presently waiting a response.

Jutenheim, Harbour Control, The Emirate of Sultenia

The incoming message lamp lit up on the switchboard. The control adjutant started the transfer.

This is the LNS Stockmoor, current location 175 miles S of your nation. Requesting details of locations for our arrival....

The adjutant took a sip of his coffee, he knew what to do, the control team had been all over the adjutant office over the importance of this arrival.
The prepared message was sent back, the adjutant picked up the phone to the control team.
"They are here control, the response has been sent." The adjutant said though the phone.
"Good, I will inform the prime minister, proceed within protocol." Said chief coomand in response over the phone.
"Aye sir" Was heard over the phone.

The direct link to PM Vogel Ravenholdt was picked up.

Govermental Office, central Jutenheim.
The phone rang, the PM was sitting in his office as usual, clad in a wine read office shirt and ordinary jeans, he didn't even wear a tie. He picked up the phone and calmly said "Is it time?". "Yes mister, they have arrived."
The PM checked his watch. Hm.. Right on time, he thought. "I will be there shortly, traffic have eased up." He hang up the phone and walked out of the office. Everything was going according to the time table, the two representatives was at the docks this morning and now three helicopter was on the way out to greet them.

Response to LNS Stockmoor from Harbour Control

Welcome to The Emirate of Sultenia, everything has been prepared. Three small helicopters will reach you soon to escort the vessel carrying your representatives to the mainland. Follow their instructions.

Heliport 3, 200 meters from Jutenheim Harbour area.

The alarm rang out and the helicopter pilots stormed out to their helicopters. Not military, these were plain civilian, two MD 500 and one Bell 206. But in them was a direct link to nearby fighter command. If anything threatend the diplomatic representatives three fighters would be ready within one minute.

The choppers took off.

"OK sir, here's how it's going to work," the EH101 lifted gently from the deck of the LNS Stockmoor, "They're sending three helicopters to escort the vessel carrying yourself and your entourage in to port. We've decided that an Invincible Class carrier with full air group could be seen as excessive which is why we're transferring you on to the LNS Intrepid, a Type 23 frigate."

Sam Lawson nodded intermittently as the junior officer explained the plans for the initial stage of their arrival. It all seemed fairly routine and something he was incredibly used too. The Intrepid was also devoid of the latest technology in use with the Laceenian Navy, being scheduled for refit at the end of this particular tour of duty.

Message to Harbour Control

The helicopters roared full speed over the sea, seagulls could be seen, it was a beutiful day and perfect for flying. They spotted the ships and started to hover, the group spread out to ensure they were seen.

"This is Oceaneagles squadron D.E.T 1 to naval group. Ships carrying diplomatic delegates are clear to enter The Emirates territorial waters, please follow us to your docking station, if you have any questions you are but to ask."

The message was sent over the radio.

Harbour area, pier 2

Prime Minister Vogel Ravenholdt had arrived at met up with his two other delegates, a tall woman, diplomatic advisor from the IAOFR in a business suit and one bearded man, medium built, smoking a pipe in a dark green tee-shirt and black jeans, he was an interior minister, interested in the interior politics of this Laceenian nation, then there was the PM, medium long black hair with long sideburns streching down to the shin, wearing his dark wine red office shirt, blue jeans and a pair of military combat boots.

The IAOFR delegate had spent all the day in vain trying to convince the two govermental representatives to change their clothing but the only response she had got was from the interior minister and only "Ok I will wear socks but I do so under protest."

It was so strange to many, all govermental representatives kept their clothing as casual as they always did, standing stong for the "close to the people" agenda, the people did not mind and in opinion polls many thought business suits would only be "a burden" during really hot days.

"DET One, LNS Intrepid. We are carrying the diplomatic detachment and are getting underway, thank you for clearance to enter your waters."

The Type 23 began to break off from the rest of the fleet and moved to follow the helicopters to their allocated dock.

Aboard the LNS Intrepid
"Khaki pants, short sleeved shirt, hiking boot." Samuel Lawson checked his outfit one last time. It was casual enough to be seen as such, but smart enough for the public back home in Laceenia. There was a loud knock at his door. "Come."

"Sam," It was Tom, and he looked to have overdone the 'casual' aspect of his outfit, "You ready for this?"

"I am," he picked up a plain black document folder and began packing a satchel, "but I don't know if a Hawaiian shirt and three-quarter length trousers are a good idea."

Tom frowned as if slighted, "Casual is casual, if the glove fits..."

"I guess, but you wait until you see the news footage later on." Lawson finished packing a few small items in to the bag and adjusted the strap.

The helicopters turned around expecting the ships to follow back to the port. The pier was marked on the gps so the helcopter crew had no problems finding it.

LNS Intrepid cruised towards port, keeping a steady speed of twenty-five knots, close to her maximum. On her flight-deck, a Merlin ASW helicopter sat idle. Her crew were at their stations, but the rotors weren't spinning. Under normal operational circumstances, the bird would be up and keeping a sub-shield up, but given the purpose of this mission, the captain had decided to forgo this practice to remain more 'friendly'.

The EH101 had been airborne earlier, mainly to clear the pad for the inbound Prime Ministerial Merlin when it had delivered its precious cargo. For the moment, however, the crew of the helicopter were destined to sit out the remainder of their watch on the frigates deck.

The frigate eased along side the designated dock, dropping anchor and preparing to secure the vessel. Almost as soon as the ship came to a halt, the gangway was down and the diplomatic group were making their way down to terra-firma, all the while watching for their Sultenian counterparts.
