Aurum Domus

It has been five years since Aurum Domus closed to the world do to vast internal strife. Much has changed and almost none of it is for the better. It all began when High General Samuel Oron died after a long illness. Within days of his funeral chaos was reigning as various factions fought to control the country. The two main factions were led by the two oldest children of the High General, Grand Admiral Samantha Oron and Air Commodore Scott Oron. Samantha had been planning for the moment for a long time. She had forged contacts with the Doomani Caeser, even going on a secret trip to the Doomani capital, Urbus Doomanus. On the other hand, Scott was great friends with the leaders of Vetaka and the other UFAN nations and had their backing. They had even warned him that his sister might try to seize power but he didn't take them seriously enough. This would be Scott's worst decision ever.
Only a week after the High General was laid to rest Samantha made her move. All of the High Council members that were loyal to her brother had terrible accidents or simply disappeared. As this happened a force of men loyal to Samantha raided the mountain compound in northern Aurum Domus where Scott lived. In a bloody battle nearly all of Scott's remaining supporters along with his wife and kids were murdered. Scott and the youngest Oron sibling Steven escaped into the mountainous area on Aurum Domus' northern border known as the Tiber Pass. He is presumably still there, possibly rallying a resistance against his power hungry sister who decided against pursuing him into the treacherous terrain. The High Council, which was now firmly under the control of Samantha, declared her the new High General.
Not all of Aurum Domus stood by and did nothing while Samantha took over. The largest Aurum Doman foreign possesion, Aureus Insula, openly rebelled. In a brief and extremely bloody war supporters of the new regime were slaughtered and Aureus Insula declared its independence. The Free Nation of Aureus Insula, as it was now called, wanted nothing to do with a bloodthirsty Doomani sympathizer. The new High General was extremely angry with the loss of her most valuable colony but couldn't do anything. The country was still in disarray and when she seized power she had withdrawn from UFAN which she saw for years as having held back Aurum Domus from becoming rich and powerful so there were no allies to help her. She didn't dare call the Doomani. The plan hadn't exactly gone smoothly and they would probably be angry at her.
So for five long years she slowly built Aurum Domus into her ideal country. She disposed of all the do-good foreigners and crushed all opposition to her leadership. Now she was ready to bring the Republic out of isolationism and into a glorious age of power. She had visions to build an empire and she had friends in high places that could help her do that. But now it was time to return to international olitics.
