Oil (Who needs it?) is Found

Helghast, Northern Theoroshia - Yesterday, these mountain trails were full of happy travelers, hiking through the Maroon mountain range, enjoying the brisk summer day.

Today, half of the mountain range - about 200 kilometers - is blocked off, being protected by the Red Guard. Reports from inside the hot zone, as it's called, are sparse but all of the reports say the same thing: oil has been found.

This, of course, would not have been broadcast to the world; however, the Maroon mountain range is a sparse wasteland, it's only feature the water pools that form at it's base.

Looking to make a profit, the Red Guard was ordered to encircle the area. At this time, the number of barrels that can be drilled is unknown; however, the oil deposit is a rather large one.

Due to Theoroshia's use of alternative energy sources, oil is not particularly needed. The official statement from the government reads:

"The following is a message to the nations of the international community. Recently, a rather large oil deposit was found to be hidden beneath the Maroon mountain range, a sparse wasteland. 5% of the 200 kilometers of land has been set aside for drilling for ourselves. The rest of the land is up for sale, and each nation may buy up to 5% of the land available."

The Foreign Affairs Department is waiting for responses from the international community.

Dear comrades of Theorhisha
We have recently decided that we must have some form of oil production, since we are currently puchasing from other companies. With the rising price of oil, we would wish to buy 3% of the land, and if we find that it is satisfactory, we may purchase the full 5%. Perhaps we may barter some of the new weapons we have produced?

IC:Thank you very much! That is generous indeed! We have many facilities for producing sea vessels, and weapons, if ever you wish for them. We have a strong trout farming industry, and are wondering if you would wish to trade the trout for the oil? We shall begin our mining operations immediately.

We'd love to trade, of course. Most of our seas are mined, so the only fish we eat are shrimp and lobster and the occasional salmon.

Alright then. We shall open trade routes immediately. We have the best salmon that the farmers can make.

The Kingdom of Bardar is concerned about the security of Theoroshia, there are many Rogue Nations in this world that invade countries with oil. Griffincrest the most known example. The Kingdom of Bardar is ready to send troops to strengthen the Theoroshian defence if any nation, like Griffincrest decide to invade Theoroshia.

The nation of Daiwiz shall help, if in anyway possible, should another nation threaten Theorohisha. If this should happen, you need let us know, and we shall rush to your aid.

The nation of Theoroshia, and in fact it's entire population, thanks the nations of Bardar and Daiwiz for their offers of support. Should Griffencrest decide to invade us, then we will honor those pledges of support.
