Karuchea's Letter to the World Communist and Leftist movement.

Dear Comrades, Brothers and Sisters.
Up until present, the World Communist, Socialist and Leftist movements have been stagnant, riding upon theories and practices written several hundred years ago and out-dated upon the conditions we are faced with.
When the great theorists of Marxism, Marx and Engels, formulated their theories, they could not have imagined the great advances we see today. Their era was an era of vast exploitation of the industrial workers by factory owners, where workers were vastly over-worked and under-paid. The assumption that the continuing of this exploitation and contradiction therein would lead to Proletarian Revolution is the basis of Marxist thought on Revolution. By the times of great Comrades Lenin and Stalin however, it had been proven that the majority of workers in many countries had already been bought off and were uninterested in Revolution. The petty-bourgeoisification of the working class had already begun in earnest, so Revolutions increasingly looked to the Peasantry.
However, today the world has advanced far more, today the Proletariat is extinct in its old form in the vast amount of nations and especially in the powerful ones. Increasingly labour is done by machines and workers confined to service industries, technological, computer and scientific industries. This class is now the majority and has rendered obsolete old theories on the Proletariat and Bourgeois.
On the other hand, every day there are still rebellions, riots and protests against the oppressive governments and imperialist regimes. This is because the primary contradiction in the world today is between International Imperialism and National Independance. International Imperialism seeks to conquer, exploit and enslave the smaller, weaker nations; while the movements of National Independance seek to make their own nations independant, free and masters of their own destinies.
It is the duty of all Communists, Socialists and Leftists to support people battling against comprador, puppet leaderships as well as direct Imperialist intervention. The question, however, in the present context of "Where the Revolutionary force is?" must be answered.
The experiance of the Party of the Karuchean Revolution from the days of the Free Officers Movement and the Revolutionary Command Council is that the military is the vanguard, guiding and most revolutionary force of the present day. It is the military in the Capitalist, exploitive countries which serves as employment for the poor and rightless, who cannot gain jobs in the new technological world. Hence, it is the military and the men and women therein who are the most oppressed, they are the front-line and cannon-fodder for Capitalism and hence, have the most to gain from its elimination.
The Army in most countries is filled from bottom to top with loyal, patriotic men and women who seek the best for themselves, their countries and the people therein. With the power of the gun, they are in the best position to seize state-power and transform society around themselves.
Socialism of the New Era is therefore Socialism with the Military at its core to defend it from external pressures and influences and to play the vital and defining role in not just the revolution and construction, but also the governance of their country. While the military defends from external threats, security apparatus defends the country from internal subversion as a result of external pressures. This is the only logical form of Socialism for the new era that has come upon us.
Therefore, it is the official statement and policy of the Socialist National Republic of Karuchea as well as the Party of the Karuchean Revolution to offer support, both financial, militarily and diplomatically to all regimes of a military nature, whatever their aims, ideology and goals, so long as these regimes seek to maintain a policy of friendliness towards Karuchea and the Revolution, as well as Independance towards their own country. It shall also remain the policy and line of the country and party to extend support to all rebel movements which fight for their independance, especially ones of a military nature.
Long Live the World Revolution of Independance!
Long Live the Era of the Armed Forces!
Long Live Anti-Imperialism!
Signed,
General Secretary of the Party of the Karuchean Revolution,
Marshall Karim Ahmad.
Premier of the State Council of the Socialist National Republic of Karuchea,
Pak Han-chul.

Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist National Republic of Karuchea,

Dear General Secretary Marshall Karim Ahmad, Premier Pak Han-chu & Chairman Amani Sinde,
We applaud you on your fine speech, and agree whole heartidly that for the mopst part Socialism has become stagnant. Being stagnant is not true Socialism, for Socialism, for us, is a constant revolution, a constant change, that is truely what Leon Trotsky had in mind.
He was another great socialist, though he was overshadowed by the likes of Stalin, he was not a totalitarian communist, his ideaolgy of 'Constant Revolution' is the only way to defeat the tightening grip of Capitalism.
We, as a military and diplomatic force regularly back local left wing uprisings, even by the more extremist rebels. This is because we believe any socialism to be better then no socialism. We can also work on toning down extremism after the rebels are bought to power.
We wish to ally with you, together we can fight Capitalism more effectively. Other Socialist nations will be interested too. I suggest sending an envoy or letter to them.

To the United Socialist States of Burtilana:
Comrades, we welcome your honest response. Our Party's official line on Trotsky notwithstanding, we admire your state and it's commitment to Socialism and the Communist cause. We suggest opening Party-to-Party relations as well as State-to-State.
Socialism over the past decade has seen many set-backs and in the midst of our revolution, we have been very caught in our own affairs. I am sure that you at this point, have more contact with external Socialist parties than we do.
We should discuss more in person. We can arrange to fly a delegation in to Ahmadia if your Party and Country wishes to. I am very interested in discussing arrangements between our people's in person.

Dear Chairman Amani Sinde,
The response was honest, because we are an honest people. President Burte wishes to come to your nation for talks in person. He feels it would be more personal and that it would show our dedication.
We ourselves were a Socialist nation on the outset of World War II, trying to follow Marx exactly by the book. Alas, socialism failed and a fascist party came to power, and we plunged into darkness. Recently though, a coup took place, and socialism returned to power.
As I have said, President Vladimir Burte wishes to come to Karuchea in person for talks. If they prove to be productive, and some sort of alliance between our nations is made, he wishes for Karuchea's Leader to come visit Burtilana, staying at The Palace, the centre point of politics in the USSB.

Comrade Harvey Wells,
President Vladimir Burte is welcome to come here and stay at the Palace of the Revolution. As Chairman of the National Assembly, it is my responsibility and duty to meet with foreign leaders and Comrades. I can meet with Comrade Burte immediately, have him fly in to Ahmadia and we will transport him to the Palace of the Revolution.
I am of the hope indeed, that some sort of agreement and alliance can be arranged, not simply for the sake of our two people's and governments, but also for the sake of World Socialism.

Up until present, the World Communist, Socialist and Leftist movements have been stagnant, riding upon theories and practices written several hundred years ago and out-dated upon the conditions we are faced with.
Wholly incorrect; the Left has enjoyed occupying the centre of balance in the power relationships of the international arena. Organisations such as the Coalition of Anti-Capitalist Economies, the Anti-Capitalist Alliance and the International Fair Trade Agreement have not only held their own but clearly threatened the legitimacy of the fascists and capitalists. To present so un-researched a viewpoint is to undermine and throw-away all that has been built in this legacy of progressive internationalist co-operation. Furthermore Marx’s main body of work was being written in the 1840s, dating his work as 160 yeas ago, not even a couple of centuries, let ago several.
When the great theorists of Marxism, Marx and Engels, formulated their theories, they could not have imagined the great advances we see today. Their era was an era of vast exploitation of the industrial workers by factory owners, where workers were vastly over-worked and under-paid.
This final statement resonates more the world of globalisation today than it did at the time Das Kapital of the 18th Brumaire were first being published.
Utterly incorrect and revealing of a poor understanding of Marxism itself! Allow to simply state what Marx said of the (in)famous Proletariat. An individual who sells their labour for a wage = proletariat. Unless the world’s cash economy has evaporated overnight it can be safely assumed that the proletariat are amongst us. Regardless of wether or not the fit a 19th century stereotype anymore than the existence of a capitalist class can be dismissed by the declining popularity of top-hats and monocles.
The experience of the Party of the Karuchean Revolution from the days of the Free Officers Movement and the Revolutionary Command Council is that the military is the vanguard, guiding and most revolutionary force of the present day.
How wholly surprising, a military regime has discovered that it is the legitimising agent of its own regime. Proving again that all ideologies represent the self-interest of the holder regardless of how subtle or blatant that self-interest might be.
In certain mass militaries it’s true that many members are working-class and poor. But those in command still tend to reflect the ruling class, its allies and their interests. The soldiers may have an interest in ending capitalism but the people have an interest in ending the military.
With the power of the gun, they are in the best position to seize state-power and transform society around themselves.
They may be in the best position but also the least illegitimate. The direction of physical force in the process of change without recourse to consent, consensus or coalition is nothing more than one privileged community usurping the place of another.

Dear Comrade Pono E. Umbrean of the Independent Socialist Party in The Commonwealth of Biotopia:
Such alliances have failed to create World Socialism and have failed to consistantly advance internationalism by helping revolutions elsewhere. The Karuchean Revolution advanced on its own might, without international help from any so-called Socialist groupings. Surely, Communist and Socialist ideology did not begin with Marx, Communist and Socialist ideologies have existed for centuries, but not neccesarily in the Scientific form. In Karuchea, we have advanced Scientific Socialism beyond Marxism-Leninism to our own form of Scientific Socialism, Ahmadi Thought which is Socialism of the new era centred on the military as the guiding force of the revolution and militaristic Anti-Imperialism in the era where the vital and primary contradiction is between Imperialism and Independance.
Economics are nothing, as are economic agreements if it does not advance revolution not only within its own country, but elsewhere. Marxism made the error of narrow-Materialism, placing the productive forces and thus, economics at the centre of the human existance. This has proven incorrect and what is needed is not an economic revolution, but a social and national revolution to create a new Socialist society. In Karuchea, Socialism is not confined to State-Owned Enterprises, but to the entire society. Television, Cinema, Theatre, Sports etc. all show the brilliance of Socialism of our style.
What is needed is a militaristic alliance for World Socialism and economic co-ordination through planning agreements.
Does the Peasantry and Petty-Bourgeoisie count as the Proletariat? Surely, both of these also sell their labour for wages. However, in the case of the Peasantry, their field is not industrial and in the case of the Petty-Bourgeoisie their labour is not manual, but often in the social and technological realm. The overall power of labour has moved into this realm of social commerce, technology, science and services. This has nullified the old stereotype of the Proletariat and has created large and neccesary elements which in old would have been referred to as the Petty-Bourgeoisie. These elements are not revolutionary vanguards and the industrial proletariat is now nearly non-existant in many countries. As a result, we must look to the lower tier of society, where one must fight to earn a living, quite literally! We must look to the Armed Forces, who in many countries are simply there because of the pay they receive, and are the front-line for Capitalism. These are the Revolutionary forces from which Revolutions are built. In the cases of People's Wars and Armed Rebellions, the forces of progress which take up arms full-time cease to be proletariat or peasantry (if they were that to begin with), for they cease selling their labour and they become part of the People's Army, which in many feudal-reactionary countries is the Armed Force of the Revolution. It is the people's army which is the guiding force and in many revolutions past, it is no coincidence that revolutionary armies or officers have emerged BEFORE a revolutionary ideology was synthesized or party was carried through.
How wholly surprising, a military regime has discovered that it is the legitimising agent of its own regime. Proving again that all ideologies represent the self-interest of the holder regardless of how subtle or blatant that self-interest might be.
We have never denied that we represent our own self-interest, we in-fact are very proud of that. Our self interest is interest in militant Socialism, Anti-Imperialism and Revolution. This in itself means we represent the progressive trends of today and take this on a world stage. We represent the people of Karuchea and hold them as great and noble, however, the military is the primary defence against Imperialism and the primary force of revolution and construction, so our support for the military is support for Anti-Imperialism and our Revolution. We extend this internationally and militantly support Anti-Imperialist and Revolutionary forces, even with Karuchean People's Army soldiers.
In certain mass militaries it’s true that many members are working-class and poor. But those in command still tend to reflect the ruling class, its allies and their interests. The soldiers may have an interest in ending capitalism but the people have an interest in ending the military.
We do not doubt this. By the very nature of government, the top officials in the Army reflect the State and ideology of it. We believe it is the soldiers themselves who must overthrow the government and establish Socialism. In the Karuchean Revolution, it was the Free Officers Movement, a movement of lower-ranking officers, which managed to overthrow the President and arrest the Capitalist Generals and establish Socialism. We do not call for blind submission to Capitalist Generals, but for a revolutionary government of soldiers and armed forces. In many cases, the formation of a Free Officers Movement may be impossible, in this case we encourage armed revolution by Guerilla Warfare to establish Socialism on the basis of the People's Army.
The people can have NO logical interest in ending the military immediately, for it is the People's Army which is the guardian of the people and the Socialist fatherland. Without the People's Army, there is no defence against external threats to the Revolution and there is no guardian of that Revolution and construction. It is the very purpose of the People's Army to not only carry out revolution and construction and defend Socialism, the Fatherland and Socialist Revolutionary gains, but also to militantly encourage revolution across the world. While Capitalism exists on this planet, it will continue to oppress and push to consume the world, as long as Socialism exists, it must continue to oppress Capitalists and push to take the world as well. This is done through the force of arms. When Capitalism is finally extinguished on a world level, then the People's Army will still remain for some time, but it is indeed foreseeable that one day in Communism, there will be no need for arms. This being said Socialism without the People's Army is inevitably Socialism which will fail to Capitalism and Revisionism.
They may be in the best position but also the least illegitimate. The direction of physical force in the process of change without recourse to consent, consensus or coalition is nothing more than one privileged community usurping the place of another.
We do not disagree with this, Socialism is by its very nature, dictatorship of one group over another, like all society is. The privelaged communities in our country are the People's Army and the overwhelming majority of the People of Karuchea. The community we have usurped and are oppressing is a minority of people who value international Capitalism and Bourgeois values above Socialism. Those people are traitors to our Revolution and are not counted amongst the people. There are enemies of the state who prefer Bourgeois values and Western values and these are those who are oppressed. However, the overwhelming majority of the people, through representation in our various Fronts, including the Women's League, Youth League, Spiritual Congress and the Party of the Karuchean Revolution itself, are represented in our government and form core parts of our ruling class over the Bourgeoisie.
Signed,
Premier of the State Council of the Socialist National Republic of Karuchea
and
Vice-Secretary of the Party of the Karuchean Revolution,
Pak Han-chul
OOC: Relatively mine, but I cannot take full credit. Karuchea is effectively based on China, Korea and Tanzania. Tanzania for demographics (especially Zanzibar), Korea for emphasis on Armed Forces (but of course, I take it to a different level) and China for emphasis on National Revolution and People's War. The idea is simply to make a new kind of Socialism which will simultaneously make Karuchea unique and hence able to pursue independant interests, some of which may conflict with the established Communist, Socialist and Leftist forces and at the sime time make it a leader of this new form of Socialism.
