Hi, i think we shoud make a war, just for fun, that go's about oil.
We found a piece of land, big and with much oil and uranium, now we fight for that land, who gets it. Alright? So nobody is the REAL target.

OPEN TO ALL.

"General. We found a big piece of land, and it is not from anybody.
We saw with our satelittes, that there is a lot of oil.
Drop troops and civilians there. We will make that land become a country.
We will take it, and make people live there. We can take the oil than.
First just send 10.000 troops. And i will make new army's of it.
Yes general"

"Alright soldiers.
We are going there, the commander pointed on a map.
There is a lot of oil, and we want it.
Here is a list of army's the general created:

AA-03 exist of 1000 troops
AA-04 exist of 1000 troops
AA-attack-03 exist of 2000 troops
AA-defence-03 exist of 1000 troops
AA-tank-01 exist of 1000 troops with tanks
AA-air-01 exist of 1000 troops, with jets.
AA-Attack force-02 exist of 3000 troops.

Alright soldiers. GO!"

1 day later:
"general, we are ready to go.
Go than commander! Dont wait, maybe somebody else is going there to.
We need that oil! If we get it, we will be way more rich!
yes general! I am going!"

[Somewhere in the Farewood Forest]

"Sir, our satelites have spotted a large ammount of troops heading towards unclaimed land, we think they've spotted oil and some uranium."

the Grand Jentilak turns his masked face towards the guard, "And?"

the guard begins to shake and sweat, rarely does the Grand Jentilak show his mask, "a..and I think that y..you, I mean, we, o..or..."

"Silence, I know what you mean, send some soldiers to scout out the region, let them be followed by heavy artillery and some Elite Guards. Station them to the highest point in the region and start drilling there. If there is any, and I mean any, problems at all... *dramatic pause, as he turns away from the guard* obliterate them"

the terain is like a forest, but also with normal spaces, where to build.
There are some mountans and there is uranium.

We need to take that oil! At all costs!
Yes sir.

Bring 25 HMS conqueror ships and also bring heavy artillery, and the best troops we have here now!
How many troops?
5000! And now go!
And make sure there are some parachute planes ready to go, so when we need them...
Sir?
yes!
Maybe it is a good idea...
You think, that you got better ideas than me, the lord of the Canedian army?!
No, no sir! But maybe we coud point Some nukes and V2's there, to go if we need them...
Yes, point 2 nuclear rockets at the land of Berzerkirs, and 20 V2's on the places where they arrive and build up a camp!

"Mr. President! I think you should read this sir! It just came from Intelligence."

The president looks up at his chief aide. "What's it about? I can't just read everything that comes from intelligence."

"Its about strange military movements overrunning a previously unowned land. Its not to far from here so we could send some low level recon planes if nothing else."

The president think. "Good idea. Dispatch them immediatly."

"Yes sir." The aide walks out of the office and sends the order. The president sits in his chair and wonders what he is about to get his nation into.

In a very few minutes, spy planes begin launching and are over the island in a very short time.

The reports from the planes come back and from the few intercepted radio transmission they recieved, it appears that there is oil and uranium in the land.

The aide returns to the president's office. "Sir, the reports are back. It appears they are preparing to fight over oil and some uranium. Do you wish to make a claim on some of that land?"

The president thinks. "Yes, move 20,000 infantry in and roll out 500 tanks. Lets see if we can't get a slice of this pie. But avoid direct confrontation if at all possible."

"Yes sir." Once again the aide heads out to do the president's bidding.

"Sir, the scouts are back"

"Good, bring them here"

*Scout Captain*"Ahh, Lieutenant, you're in charge of this Campaign?"

"As I always am when the Government doesn't think it's worth it to get the General involved"

"Haha, so true, anyways, we've found some natives, they know where we can make camp, they say there's a large mountain not too far east of here. From there we could bombard the surrounding countryside, or the seaside."

"Good, lead the way"

The aide once again rushes into the President's office. "Sir! there appears to be a large force of troops heading towards the high ground. If they take that land, they could blow everyone to pieces!"

The presidents calms the aide down and thinks. "Allright, drop some bombs along their front, not hitting them directly and quickly followed by a drop of pamphlets that say...."

"Yes sir." The aide leaves and issues the orders again.

Soon the 5 bombers launch from the base and run a line of bombs across the enemy front. 4 waves of bombs and one wave a paper saying:

If you attempt to take the high ground, we will not stop bombing until there is nothing left of your troops. If we can't have the high ground, no one can.

"They backed off but then they dissapeared and we now have no idea where they went."

"Allright, how soon before our forces reach they mountain themselves?"

"Just a few minutes sir. The tanks are slowing down though because of the relatively rough terrain."

"Good. Lets see what happens once we get there. Split the force in three so that we can come up the mountain on multiple sides. 8,000 will go straight up, and 6,000 on either side"

"Yes sir."

And Berzerkirs, i offer a alliance to you.

200 Kilometers Offshore

A dozen or so large cargo container ships floated along in a convoy towards the area. The current course would cause the ships to pass several miles from the land to its south. They traveled in two lines adjacent to each other with about half a mile gap between them.

From a distance, they seemed like perfectly normal ships. The fact that they are in a convoy might seem strange, but considering the risk of piracy and interdiction by foreign powers in this war-torn world, maybe traveling in a pack offered more security.

One would have to perfom a flyover or get quite close to find out any real information about the shipping convoy.

The ships did not reply. Infact, they continued along on their course without altering their direction. From Angels 350 however, one with good enough eyes might note the fact that there seemed to be other ships in the formation. The two lines of cargo ships acted like screeners, allowing other ships to steam along between them shielded from sight and RADAR.

The types of ships were indistinguishable at such a distance, but one seemed to have a rather large, flat deck on it.

BCN Kongo

Blubland Colonial Navy Ship Kongo, a Prince of Aralonia Class Fleet Monitor (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=123&hl=) steamed in the center of the formation. On the bridge, Admiral Brup squinted his eyestalks. "I suppose this means they know we're not just a cargo convoy now." He tapped a button and spoke into a microphone, "Weaps. Clear my skies."

A moment later, from the formation of ships spewed a wall of missiles. From 30 deadly Aralonia-designed SAM-N-3-ER surface-to-air missile, to 20 of the indigenously produced BNSAM-02 ship-to-air missile.

In total, 50 SAMs lept skywards, reaching easily towards the enemy fighters. In total, 10 missiles per plane in a rough diamond proximity explosive pattern sure to wipe out anything in the air.

"Hopefully they won't squeak back to base before those SAMs get them." The Admiral turned away from the display, assured that the missiles would destroy their targets. Afterall, they're only F-16s. "Commence Operation Stinger."

From the Super Nimitz class CV Gazelle, a flight of Questers-made Battle F.1 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13163696&postcount=5) carrier aircraft began to launch from their catapults.

Meanwhile, the fleet had closed with the land. Now in range, the large metal cargo containers on the haulers began to open up. The thick metal had shielded them from the weather, shrapnel and scans.. and now like music boxes, the lids pealed back and the walls collapsed to reveal SH-20B Seacat and SH-62 Super Strikehawk helicopters. The rotars extended into place, and the helicopters began to launch.

In the rears of the cargo ships, the wet decks were opened. Amphibious assault craft spilled out, turning to point their noses towards land and throttled up.

All around the fleet, oil was fed into smoke pipes. Momentarily, the fleet began to obscure itself and its movements in a massive cloud of thick diesel-fed smoke. Rapid-bloom chaff launchers fired intermittedly, just to give anyone trying to look their way nothing but static to admire on their computers.

The Blubs were coming.

Operation Stinger T+00:31

Lead elements of the Blubland Marines were approaching the beaches in their LAVs. Skimming along infront of them were lightweight patrol craft which spewed out puffy white smoke, obscuring the Blubland military forces.

Miles from shore, one might see huge clouds of black and grey smoke as the fleet continued to hide itself. One never knew what might be out there.

Several Donaldson Class Guided Missile Cruisers (http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/541/ransdonaldsonwu6.png) were positioning themselves. Their massive banks of missile tubes aligned towards shore, but held their fire.

For several minutes the only sound was that of the hundreds of LAV engines and the patrol craft zooming around near the beach.

Then... the Donaldson Class cruisers opened up. Hundreds of land-attack cruise missiles crashed from the shoreline up to 500 meters from the beach. Many of them were basic ballistic missiles, while others contained sub-munitions which would effectively carpet-bomb the beaches and enemy defenses before the marines arrived.

At the same time, BCN Kongo began to fire its main guns. Its 15 25-inch guns launched the massive shells towards the beach, half of the shots designed to simply create craters. The other half were the specially-designed Aralonia ammunition for the 25 inchers. The ammunition were infact 4,100kg FAE rounds.

They exploded perhaps 30 feet in the air, dispersing a cloud of chemicals and then.. an ingnition set the Fuel-Air-Explosive off. Scorching the earth, sucking oxygen from the air and causing a massive pressure wave for a hundred yards in all directions.

1st Marine Expeditionary Unit
In one of the LAVs, the gunner winced as he looked at the beach, which seemed to be covered with flames, explosions and flying sand and water. He then looked back at the squad the LAV was carrying, "Fifty seconds!"

The LAV gunned its engines as the bombardment slackened on the beach, the rolling barrage moving further inland to rip apart roads, power lines, telephone cables and other infrastructure.

"Twenty seconds!" Close enough to the beach now, the gunner aimed the muzzle of the LAV's cannon at a stand of trees that had somehow survived mainly intact. The cannon fired, 25mm shells ripping into the stand. Then he triggered the secondary weapon, and a long stream of liquid fire reached outwards. The flamethrower splashed into the undergrowth as the LAV rolled past.

All along the beach, the lead brigade of the 1st MEU was hitting the shore, followed closely by the 3rd Marine HQ Battalion.

1st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Operation Stinger T+00:45

Several LAVs had been knocked out by anti-tank fire. Some were on fire, others stuck immobile. A few had gotten bogged down in shell craters and were firing with determination while their marines dismounted and surged forward under the cover of weapons fire.

A pair of overlapping 25" gun craters provided complete cover for a HQ LAV, only its long antennas showing out of the hole. Outside of the command vehicles, two squads of Blub marines were laying near the top of the crater, peering over the edge now and then as they kept watch. Inside, a few officers were using the radios to direct the battle.

"Second company forward, fourth company hold your positions."

An engineer poked his head into the open ramp of the LAV. "Major, I'm deploying my mine-clearing platoon forward. Give us twenty minutes and I can give you two clear routes off the sea wall."

Meanwhile under the direction of a fire-direction team, a squadron of Calcutta GR.3 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13185587&postcount=56) ground-attack jets began to drop canisters of napalm along the enemy battle line.

The officer was yelling into his radio to be heard, "Splash! Up fifty and make the next pass horizontal to the beach! Say again, horizontal to the beach. The defenders are all lined up."

The next wave of jets began to drop their munitions over the enemy positions, the canisters exploding into lines of napalm a hundred yards long.

1st Brigade, 1st Marine Expeditionary Unit
More LAVs were burning now, and Blub bodies lay scattered along the beach as the unit began to move forward using smoke and craters for cover. Their amphibious vehicles gave them great manuverability as elements began to move north along the beach in a flanking manuver, rolling up over the sea wall and into the grasslands.

LAVs equipped with cannons and flamethrowers moved forward, pouring their firepower into the defenders while dismounted marines set up their light machine guns to establish a base of fire, pinning enemies down while manuvering to get around the flanks.

BCN Wilson
An amphibious assault ship, the Wilson was moving towards shore, flanked by two light corvettes. Wilson began to deploy AH-96C Jaguar (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12805180&postcount=32) helicopter gunships.

Operation Stinger T+00:55

LAVs chewed forward behind mine-clearing platoons and spread out just inside of the woods. The HQ Battalion's engineers began to lay down interlocking gridworks of open grating on the beach leading down to the water. Wilson emerged into the shallows and its bow opened. The ramp came down onto the grating and out rolled M5 Blub Light Tanks (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13343055#post13343055), testing the path and then moving towards the woods, followed by the rest of the light tank platoon.

LSTs were moving towards the beach by now, carrying heavier M20 Mackhall (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=501027) tanks produced by Aequatio Industries. The LSTs would move up to the very edge of the water before deploying their tanks and infantry.

3rd Airborne Division
Something amazing was brewing. With control of the air belonging to Blubland and its fabulous Questerian fighter aircraft, it was safe enough for low-altitude aircraft armor deployment.

C-181A Starlifter II (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12806151&postcount=35) swept downwards out of the sky. Following directions given by ground-control teams, they did low-level flybys of open, grassy areas. In the backs of the C-181s, the cargomasters hit buttons. Huge parachutes opened, dragging pallet-loaded vehicles out the back of the aircraft. Like sleds, the pallets hit the ground, sliding forward wildly before eventually slowing to a stop.

Some of the pallets mis-dropped, rolling over when they hit the ground and destroying the vehicles within.

Higher up, hundreds of troops were descending on parachutes while down below, teams began to unpack the LAAD-deployed BDVs (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13343053&postcount=33).

The Beach

Highly mobile SAM trucks were deploying. Mostly M5 Light Blub Tanks with surface-to-air missile systems, they scattered into the surrounding area in teams to lay wolf traps for any enemy planes and helicopters that might show up.

The Jump Infantry were climbing into their BDVs and setting out to expand the pocket of the beach head. The trademark of the Blubland Military has always been mobility, shown by the M5 Blub tank and the BDVs. They had adapted to the modern battlefield by purchasing main-line battle tanks such as the M20 Mackhall to add a serious punch when needed.

And so, it was with great speed that they moved outwards, scouting and expanding the picket lines.

On MLRSes were being unloaded now. The powerful missile launchers moved into defensive positions being prepared by engineers while more conventional tube artillery - 155mm and 105mm howitzers for the most part were dug in behind hills and in other protected areas.

The Pocket
Colonel Byrk stood near a BDV overlooking a large, open field where pallets were being unloaded. An aide leaned out of the command BDV, "Colonel, sir. Intelligence is picking up a lot of radio chatter and movement further inland. We may have to fight off another, much larger force to defend the beach."

The Colonel spat on the ground, "I'll be god damned if I lose this beach. How long until Blackhelm's deadline ends?"

"Uh, about twenty-two hours sir."

"We need these fools mopped up before then. I don't want to fight Blackhelm with these other people at our backs. I'll not have Blackhelm sweep in and steal oil from people again."

"Uh, sir. If we don't go on the offensive, we could be fighting Mt Id and Kelewanns on land, with Blackhelm trying to push in from sea or air."

"You think I'm not aware of that? Keep the 3rd Cav on picket duty until we can get some main-line infantry and armored divisions landed. Also, order the engineers to start establishing some rearming runways for aircraft. Keep the perimeter strong and secure and we'll be able to kick Blackhelm's teeth down their throats when they get here."

Colonel Byrk stood unmoving as explosions from artillery dotted the area around him. "This artillery isn't focused, they're just guessing where we're at. They're not ready to assault us yet, I think. Order the fire-finders online and counter-battery." He winced as an explosion on the other side of the BDV sent shrapnel and rocks rattling against the side of his command track.

In the distance, several fireballs announced the destruction of vehicles or supply depots.

Artillery Firebase Alpha
Forward fire-tracking systems examined the incoming fire and tracked the trajectories back to the guns firing. This information was calculated via GPS and relayed back to the Blubland artillery.

The battery of 10 MLRS missile systems imputted this information into their computers. Then.. launched. Each launcher fired 6 missiles, totalling 60 missiles. The missiles screamed towards the distant enemy artillery in a spread out, carpet-bombing type pattern. They exploded in the air, spraying the ground with grenade-like submunitions.

In The Air
"Warhawk, this is Control, you have high-altitude bombers inbound."

"Roger Control. Escorts?"

"Uh, negative Warhawk. They sent the bombers out without fighter escorts..."

The squadron of Battle F.1 marine fighters turned towards the incoming bombers, to intercept them before they could close in on the Blubland positions, they went to afterburner mode. Guided to the bombers by "Control" E-14 AWACs (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12804963&postcount=31), the Battle F.1s spread out into an attack formation.

"Engaging."

From miles away, the F.1s launched a wave of air-to-air missiles at the unprotected enemy bombers.

Salzland
03-08-2008, 04:35
OOC: Technically, "Stealth" doesn't mean it's invisible to radar, just that it has a very, very small radar cross section. In other words, the bomber would look like, say, a hawk, rather than a large bomber, on a radar screen.

Also, certainly an omni-directional heat seeking missile would be able to lock onto your B-2s, since back in the late 90s the Serbs were able to shoot down an F-117. Though if worst comes to worst, I'm sure the Blub fighters could just close in and use their guns to shoot down the bombers, since (I'm assuming) it's broad daylight, and a jet black bomber sticks out like a sore thumb.

'Bobcat Flight of four F-14 Tomcats closed with Country X's combat air patrol, before launching a quartet of Phoenix missiles'), and try to slow down your posts and compose 3-4 messages into one longer post. It keeps things much neater, makes it easier for other players to respond, and avoids those "Hey, you ignored my A-10 Warthogs strafing your division command post!" moments.

A fleet had left the Griffincrest port at Vik, and was headed for the oil rich lands that had been so hotly disputed by so many nations. The fleet was far larger than the fleets of their enemies, and Griffincrest was hoping to deal with the situation quickly, and claim the territory with a minimal loss of life.

Warhawk

The squadron of Battle F.1s broke up their formation into pair elements. They fired another wave of missiles at the B-2s. Their multiple-spectrum air-to-air missiles continued to scream towards the enemy bombers. As chaff was deployed by the F-22s, several missiles were fooled and went off-course. However, the inertial guidance system in many other missiles kept them on-course to intercept the B-2s, which are notoriously delicate aircraft.

The engagement with the F-22s was brutal. (The only reason I'm acknowledging the F-22s is because you're new. Normally, you HAVE to announce what you're deploying because the defender may have a way to detect them. Otherwise, it looks like you're just pulling a "Oh crap.. I didn't think about that. Well I'll CLAIM I had fighters doing escort and just say they were stealthy." otherwise known as cheating, y'see?)

Warhawk Lead pulled his Battle F.1 into a tight turn to break out of a brief radar lock, then climbed into an Immelman. "This is Warhawk Lead. Forget the Lancers for the moment, our missiles will take them out. These Raptor jocks really screwed up, they should have stayed back and remained stealthy. Don't they know the F-22's performance drags when they open their weapon bays for a dogfight?"

Working in pairs, the F.1 pilots manuvered, letting the F-22s get on the tail of one F.1, while the wingman got behind the F-22 and engaged at short range with missiles.

Several F.1s had been hit by the initial attack, and pilots were drifting towards the ground in their parachutes, looking up at the fight high above.

BCN Gazelle
"Admiral, Warhawk Squadron is reporting five of their F.1s lost. Air Control picked up several hits on the B-2s, and Warhawk has launched a second wave. There's not enough B-2s left to make a difference, and whatever survives this next wave of missiles will be really lonely."

Admiral Raek squinted, "Launch the ready-five squadron. Who is it?"

"Ah, it's Mustang Squadron."

"Launch Mustang Squadron then, tell them to fly CAP and support Warhawk if needed. Ready up some Cossack and Calcutta strike aircraft."

Outside on the flight deck, twelve more F.1s were beginning to launch. Air crews checked the aircraft as they were being loaded into the catapults and then zipped down the length of the deck and into the air.

"Admiral, intelligence reports a fleet has left Griffencrest. They could arrive in less than a day with forward elements."

"Right. We need to take care of these idiots attacking us if we want to defend the oil against Blackhelm."

The Pocket
The incoming helicopters were in for a very nasty suprise. The M5 Blub Tanks serving as SAM platforms held their fire until the helicopters were within range. And then.. they launched their surface-to-air missiles at the helicopters. The anti-tank missiles launched by the helicopters began to find their marks, hitting vehicles and armor and mostly destroying or disabling what they hit.

An even bigger suprise would be the fact that the M5 Blub tanks could actually shoot back at the helicopters with their main guns. The guns elevated, the sophisticated FCS (Described here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13343055&postcount=34)) allowed the guns to track whatever helicopters survived the SAMs, and engage them with the 135mm high-velocity main guns.

The Front
Where Kelewann troops and equipment approached the front lines, they would be engaged by M5 Blub tanks at an incredible range. While most tank guns have an effective range of about 3 kilometers maximum, the Blub tanks fired at 8 kilometers away.

Firing like mortars, the 135mm rounds were launched skywards. BSTAM (Blub Smart Top-Attack Munition) would travel the distance, the shell providing tiny adjustments on its own.. before screaming downwards towards the tops of Kelewann tanks and armored vehicles deployed.

BDVs (Blub Deployment Vehicles) targetted infantry, the Blubland Jump Troopers inside firing out of rifle ports while the rocket launchers on the BDVs fired their cluster munitions. The rockets exploded over Kelewann infantry, deploying dozens of grenade-type munitions which exploded into even more shrapnel.

Infantry, more APCs and M20 Mackhall main-line tanks formed a second battle line behind the skirmish line. Hull-down in protected positions, they waited, ready to engage anything that managed to break through the skirmish perimeter.

The Air
With Blubland still controling the air for the time being, more aircraft were being flown in from the mainland. These were not carrier-based aircraft, but rather deployed by the Air Force. Escorting their own tanker aircraft and AWACs, the fighters were still a distance out.

Among the formation flew one of Blubland's AC-100 Roc (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13195195&postcount=9) airborne gunships.

Base:"Roger that Spirit lead, fall back. Land and refull and we'll send another wave later

---------------

The F-22s saw the tactic of the F-1s and scattered in all directions, not targeting anyone in particular but just throwing missiles at every lock they got. Even as innacurate as the missiles where, there were enough to score atleast the occasional hit. As soon as they ran out of ammunition, the Raptors closed doors and hit max speed, sending sonic booms along the ground as they headed back for base, not reforming into flight patterns until they were miles away from the engagement.

Infantry

Back at the main infantry line, the main front had paused to send out patrols to locate the main enemy forces. Now the reports were back.

Scout: "Sir, there appear to be a number of SAMs on the ground. If any air assualts were attempted, they would get slaughtered."
Commander Blake:"Send foward the Javelin Missile Launchers (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=562210) and see if we can't take out a few of them before hand. have two rockets to a target. Fire as soon as the target is located."

Before long, missiles were popping out of the forest from all directions, going up in a steep climb and then suddenly dropping on the unsuspecting armor.

The Pocket
A forward-deployed platoon of the 3rd Airborne's heavy battalion were spread out along a low ridge near the edge of the woods. Without warning, several BDVs and Blub Tanks were blown apart.

"ATGMS! Take cover!" Infantry threw themselves into their fox holes as Javelins streaked down out of the sky, impacting along the skirmish line.

A Major poked his eyestalks out of his foxhole, his body armor singed black on one side from when his command BDV had been hit. Green blood dripped down his torso as he squinted, "Seems like they wised up a bit and deployed some anti-tank infantry." He grabbed his radio, "This is Sparrow Lead. Sparrow Alpha and Sparrow Charlie, move your surviving equipment back into the woods for some cover. Leave infantry in place with ATGMs and shoulder-fired SAMs."

Blub Tanks and BDVs backed up into the treeline, disappearing from sight two hundred yards into the woods. The infantry stayed where they were, preparing their own anti-vehicle guided missiles and surface-to-air missiles. Machine guns were set up to cover while engineers crawled forward into the grasslands to place claymore mines.

The Major spoke into his radio, "Sparrow to Control."

"Go Sparrow."

"We have been engaged with ATGMs. My equipment has been pulled back towards our main line. Infantry will hold as long as we can, but if we get pushed hard we'll need to withdraw our skirmish line."

"Wilco, Sparrow. Withdraw when needed."

The Air
With the F-22 Raptors in retreat, Blubland once again had complete control of the air. Air Force F-28D Green Eagle (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12269628&postcount=784) air supremacy fighters were high above the battlefield. The F-28Ds were quite stealthy themselves and kept about twenty miles out to sea in reserve while the main-line F.1 Battle and Stalwart F.2 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13171385&postcount=42) held the sky.

Strike aircraft were being pulled into formation as targets were selected by forward observers. For the moment though, the air-to-ground strike aircraft were held back. They would be used later in breaking up any major ground assaults.

Marauder
Above the battlefield at about 20,000 feet was a single AC-100 Roc (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13195195&postcount=9) gunship. Callsign Marauder, it was positioning itself somewhat back from the action, protected by fighters. As the day wore on and nighttime approached, the AC-100 would be deployed after dark.

Back with the infantry, almost immediatly after the Javelin bombarge had ended, Mt. Id's entire force began moving foward. Air Control

The naval AWAC had by now withdrawn out to sea to refuel from tankers. Taking its place were a pair of E-14 AWACs from the Air Force. The powerful electronic warfare aircraft circled several miles out to sea, scouring the air and ground and monitoring constantly.

"Big Eyes One, this is Air Control."

"Go Control."

"Enemy has attempted to deploy B-2 and F-22 stealth technology. Be on the alert for fast-moving contacts which do not register as friendly via IFF cipher."

"Acknowledged, Control. Big Eyes One out."

The Front
The advancing enemy would soon encounter the Blubland military skirmish line. Determined light and heavy machine gun fire backed by assault rifles and grenade launchers struck outwards at the advancing enemy.

Several minutes after contact, artillery and mortar shells began to fall along the Mt Id battle line as spotters called in fire support.

If the Mt Id infantry continued to advance, they would hit a line of claymore mines about 300 yards out from the Blubland skirmish line.

Reply to Berzerkirs
"That would be acceptable. We only came here to fight Blackhelm. We really don't care that much about oil, we just want a crack at the Blackhelm tyrants."

Infantry:

"Everybody down! Take cover!" Blake yelled to his men as soon as the first rounds of fire started coming their way. Everybody dropped down seconds before the Mortars and artillery began raining down on their heads. "Ready RPGs! Fire!" Every weapon armed with a Grenade Launcher fired and sent their warheads hurtling through the air towards the enemy positions. "I want every sniper we have to stay back and shoot at anything they see. The rest of us are going to push foward, fire and manuver. Lets go!"

The line began to advance again, but much slower to keep the casualties low. The force leap frogged at Company level so that for every one company moving, there were 3 laying down covering fire. Soon the front skirmish line hit the mines and they exploded, killing several soldiers. "Hold the line! Take out handgrenades and layer that mine field with enough explosives to set off whatever else is planted there." Blake ordered. The troops threw enough HE grenades on the ground to create a small crater where the mines were. Once that was clear, the line continued to advance, fireing as they went, and wouldn't stop until they closed with the enemy.

Commander Blake: "Base, requesting counter artillery mesaures."
Base:"Counter Artillery granted. Firing away."

Suddenly Mt. Id's own artillery began firing but not at the troops, at the enemy's Artillery. They used MRSI to land 7 rounds from each artillery cannon simultaniously on the enemy's heads. There were 50 artillery firing so that's a total of 350 aritllery rounds spaced around the enemy. (Try getting up from that hell. lol)

Mortars and artillery continued to fall on the enemy as they advanced. Some of the shells were falling short, exploding over the 3rd Airborne positions in large clouds of obscuring smoke.

The skirmish line began to pull back under the cover of smoke, carrying their wounded and leaving the dead and burnt out vehicles behind. Engineers carried wire-deploying wheels as they pulled back with the rest of the troops. The edges of the Blub fighting positions had more claymores set up with tripwires and such.

The trenches and foxholes would be found to be empty but for a hundred or so dead Blubs. Medical equipment such as Blub plasma, morphine needles and bandage wrappers indicated that many more had been wounded and evacuated during the fighting.

Someone had bombed the command post with a thermite grenade, destroying the radios and sensitive materials left behind.

Fire Base Alpha
Shrapnel rattled against the hulls of the self-propelled howitzers as artillery landed all around. Several of the guns had been destroyed already. They responded by throwing their vehicles into reverse and getting clear of the area, moving to Fire Base Alpha-Alpha a further two hundred yards to the rear.

Forward along the main battle line, fire-finder RADAR once again tracked the enemy artillery rounds in flight. Word was passed back, and the MLRS trucks positioned themselves.

In a wave, the rocket artillery launched. Firing back at the enemy artillery with their big missiles, which would explode sixty feet in the air and spray the ground with vehicle-killing submunitions.

The MLRSes immedietly began to move to a new position, using mobility to their advantage.

"Sir! They appear to have left!" One soldier reported to Commander Blake.
"Hold the line!" Blake called. "Lets get some engineers up here to see if those guys left any buggers in their Trenches for us." Just after he let the words out of his mouth, a mine over on the right flank went off, killing a few more soldiers. "Damn it i said hold the line! Get those enginneers up here NOW!"

The engineers arrived and started looking around at the enemy's previous position. They noticed the claymore set up and set about dismantleing them, but they were inexperienced so they sometimes ended up setting them off. Eventually they were all disarmed and the army could take up positions in the enemy's own dugouts and take a short rest.

"See if you can't find anything useful that they might have forgotten here in their old camp." Commander Blake said to a squad as he went about checking on his troops. He had lost about 1,000 casualties, 300 or so dead and the rest wounded and being treated. "Atleast we got them out of these damn holes." He said to himself.

In the woods, the engineers that had reeled out the wires knelt together. Major Trop was listening to his radio linking him back to the HQ near the beach.

"Major, satellites indicate the enemy has occupied your former positions. You're clear."

"Right." The Major lowered the radio and looked at his engineers. It was a shame that this had to be done, but the quicker the fight was over the easier it would be to defend these lands against Blackhelm.

He gestured with a tentacle at one of the engineers, "Do it." He sighed, "Brave soldiers.. just misguided."

The engineer turned a key on the pad the wires linked to..

The Trenches
The wires lead back to the former Blub trenches, buried under several inches of dirt, they fed directly into blocks of C4 explosives which were stuck in the walls of the trenches and covered with packed dirt.

All along the trenches, dozens of pounds of C4 would errupt in a massive heave of earth and fire.

Smaller shaped charges on the back sides of trees at the edge of the wood went off, splitting the trees and sending them crashing down in tangles towards the trenches and blocking paths big enough for vehicles to get through the woods.

"Everybody! OUT OF THE TRENCHES! They're rigged to blow!" The chief enginner came running up towards Commander Blake screaming at the top of his lungs. Soldiers began scrambling out of the holes as fast as they could. Seconds before the trenches lit up, the last soldier climbed out, but that couldn't save some of them from the flying debris that claimed more lives.

"Damn it! I should have seen that one." Blake says to himself as he patches up a slice he got from a flying rock. "Well, guess those things are useless now." He looked down at the newly filled holes and though how close they had come to being all their graves.

But if you want to...

Yes sir, also as our AA-012.

Set up all Thunder-2 and heavy artillery we got.
Send 20.000 soldiers to be outside the base walls, and soldiers on the base walls, o no, wait. Hold 7500 soldiers IN the base, set the rest out. To fight Kalawann's troops.

The Air

With dozens of ship-based RADARs, LIDARs and other scans going, including the airborne AWACs, there could be no real tactical suprise.

One of the officers onboard a large Air Force E-14 examined his monitor. Small contacts were approaching. It might have been a flock of birds.. but birds do not move at 300 knots at 30,000 feet. "Mustang Squadron and Hammer Squadron, this is Big Eyes Two. We have contacts Angels-300 approaching west by south-west, range sixty klicks. You are cleared to engage."

Still out of weapons range, a flight of Battle F.1 and Stalwart F.2 air-supremacy fighters moved between the sensitive AWACs and AC-100 gunship to cut the F-22s off from what seemed to be their intended targets. To get to them, the Mt Id fighters would need to get past the Blubland fighters.

With the Mt Id and Blubland fighters flying straight at each other, the closure rate was incredible. The range quickly spun down, and at 20 miles out the Blubland fighters began to fire their air-to-air missiles. The BAARM02 warheads actually climbed to higher altitude in a ballistic arc before coming down at the Mt Id fighters from above. Flights of Phoenix II missiles stabbed straight towards their targets, riding laser guidance beams to the F-22s.

The Line
Sitting 6 kilometers back from the Blubland side of the woods, a network of trenchworks, foxholes and machine gun nests studded the grassy terrain. Tanks waited, 'hull down' in their prepared positions. SAM BDVs remained hidden under camo netting at strategic locations along the line. All of these forces just waiting patiently, watching the sun slip down below the horizon and night beginning to fall.

In a command BDV, Colonel Byrk examined a map as a scout briefed him. "Sir, there seem to be large numbers of troops entering the woods now. Mt Id engineers are clearing the paths we blocked and it seems Kelewann is pushing forward." He scratched his head with a tentacle and squinted, "It's weird sir."

"How?"

"Well it seems like after we bloodied up Kelewann, they pulled back and let Mt Id fight the skirmish line by themselves. They didn't help any. It's not like we're fighting two allied states, it's more like we're fighting two states which aren't attacking each other but not helping, either. Mt Id took some pretty bloody losses when they hit the skirmish line."

"Right. I think I have something in mind. Dismissed."

The scout saluted and walked back outside.

The Colonel went to find his engineers.

Skirmish Line - Former Blubland Trenches
A screaming in the air would announce more Blubland artillery incoming. It was a single 255mm missile which exploded over the blown-up trenches. The missile split apart, and out spilled leaflets instead of cluster munitions.

Hundreds of leaflets fluttered through the air, raining down on the Mt Id side of the woods.

It was classic propaganda aimed at the common soldiers and NCOs of Mt Id. Taped to each leaflet was a stick of bubblegum.
Hey soldier! It seems your 'friends' Kelewann let you do the heavy fighting. Now they charge in after you did all the work? Seems like they want the glory at the expense of your buddies. Did they help you take the trenches? Did they care for your wounded?

When the Kelewann soldiers hit our next battle line and get bloodied up, they'll break off and want you to die. They'll want you to charge our machine guns. They'll want your tanks to become targets for our armor.

Walk away from this. This isn't your fight. We are not here to kill you, we are here to protect the area from Blackhelm. Your friends are dying for nothing.

Since Aplah Squadren was closest to combat, most of the missiles were coming at them. They dropped altitude as fast as possible and attempted to evade the incoming missiles. Some were thrown ofcourse with jamming and flares, but still others hit their targets. But this left the other waves mostly unhampered and they let loose waves of missiles at the enemy fighters.

The Air
The Blubland pilots switched over to night mode as the sun finally fell behind the horizon and visability dropped. Twisting, turning and deploying chaff, some dodged missiles and other ate missiles.

Explosions filled the sky, a half dozen high-tech jets falling out of the air destroyed.

"Hammer, this is Mustang. They're diving towards the deck!"

"Roger Mustang."

The F.2 Stalwart air-supremacy fighters dove after the F-22s, hot on their tails. They launched another flight of air-to-air missiles from above and behind the Mt Id fighters.

The Fields
Bulldozers had carefully skimmed the top layer of grass and dirt from the ground to form long landing strips in several areas of the grasslands. Engineers had then laid down iron grating to form a strong, level landing zone.

On the runways, flights of X-2 Sparrow (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13349344&postcount=36) counter-insurgency fighters were being prepped. The X-2s are propeller driven turbo-prop planes designed for low altitude attack roles. Slower than jets, the X-2 Sparrows were meant for carrying bombs and guns to the enemy on the ground.

The first 4 X-2s carried air-to-air missiles and rolled down the runway, taking to the sky. They kept low, below the jets fighting high above. The X-2s then turned west, heading towards the woods followed by the other 8 air-to-ground equipped fighters.

The Woods
The Kelewann helicopters were in for an unforunate encounter. Skimming along the treetops from the Blubland controlled area of the region came a flight of four X-2 turboprop fighters.

At a range of several miles, the fast moving and nimble fighters launched a wave of air-to-air missiles at the helicopters Kelewann had deployed.

Coming in behind the first flight came eight more X-2s. These X-2s dipped down towards the forest and dropped cluster bombs and napalm canisters. The night was lit up as the woods were filled with long bursts of liquid fire coupled with thousands of submunitions from the cluster bombs.

The Air

When radars locked on and with a warning yelled from Air Control, the flight of Hammer Squadron F.2s kicked on afterburners. Hammer Squadron dove after the F-22s chased by missiles. Blazing along, they actually passed the F-22s in flight and kept going.. leaving Mt Id's missiles with only the F-22s to lock onto.

Mustang Squadron's F.1s turned and flew north, deploying chaff to lose most of the missiles. Several aircraft were hit and began to tumble out of the sky. They kicked on afterburners, trying to stay just out of RADAR lock as they moved north.

BCN Kongo
"Mustang Squadron is clear to the north. Hammer Squadron is on the deck. Only targets up over the field at that altitude now are Mt Id fighters. Launch."

The huge fleet monitor launched two waves of Aralonia type SAM-N-3-ER ship-to-air missiles. They screamed skywards, chasing after the Mt Id fighters.

Meanwhile, the F.1s of Mustang squadron whipped back around and launched their missiles as well.

The missiles continued to follow the F-2's down as the went and Alpha launched their own wave of missiles at the now in front F-2's before peeling off and rerouting towards the gunship again. Charlie and Delta squadrens had their hands full dodging missiles as best they could up in the air but many of them still bit it. 15 Aircraft dropped from the sky with the pilots ejecting and parachuting down.

Not only is it a godmod, but ESM does not "fry" missiles. ESM is used to detect and locate enemy radar emissions (among other things), ECM jams enemy radar/communication but doesn't fry anything. You're talking about an EMP of some sort and that would have fried your own avionics as well. Also, there are very few MT ways to generate an EMP short of detonating a nuke in the high atmosphere or using a specialized weapon.

Like Berzerkirs said a average military is 5%...5% of 6 mill is nothing if your wishing to go to war you will have to fight 5% of 640 million and increaing which is a lot more than 6 million. Also my military spending is the most out of all my spending (i used a Ns calculator)

30% of the entire population in the military basically grabs everyone from ages 18-40. Who's left to grow food, produce ammunition, refine oil for fuel, transport supplies, produce clothing, weapons, vehicles, etc.?

A 5% cap is the semi-official rule for International Incidents, and that's only allowable in times of repelling an invasion of your own nation, as a temporary measure.

The Air

(Please remember, I said the AC-100 was staying back until after dark. To make it realistic, I'll give you a way out.)

The planes in persuit of Marauder would need to travel miles out to sea to engage the gunship and in doing so fly over the naval forces Blubland had deployed. Perhaps the Mt Id flight leader would recognize this and call off the attack...

Meanwhile, Big Eyes One and Big Eyes Two, the AWACs were filling the air with various types of jamming. RADARs were swiftly becoming hard to use, and infrared beams flickered back and forth, randomly targetting all aircraft in the area, setting off alarms and confusing computers.

Defence is the most inportant now.

"Soldier! Called the luitanant at the unknown.
Yes sir?
Are the heavy artillery, ready to move?
Yes sir! They will be moved to around a mile or two miles from Mt Id's camp.
2 miles? Make that 4 miles, and use rocket artillery, or rocket ammo.
It is better to do it with a piece of land between us.
Yes sir!"

Later:
The luitanant, in full armor, was standing beside a heavy artillery.
60.000 soldiers where there, for in case Mt Id woud attack back if we blow its camp up.
Ofcourse most of the soldiers of him woud die by the artillery.
"Soldier, hold your fire.
Yes sir.
Soldiers, artillery, ARMY OF THE CANEDIANS!
Now, this is our time of glory.
Our time, of WINNING!
Even if YOU die, the nation, will be known at Mt Id.
Now, ATTACK! Fire the artillery!"

A sound of artillery fireing, soldiers loading there weapons, everything.

"Stop the fire! Sad the Luitanant after the most of the camp was destroyed.
What now sir?
Move the artillery to the back.
Send the soldiers a piece forward, so there will be a line of troops, a kind of wall of troops, and if they attack, kill them."

"MT ID! sad the luitanant trough such a machine that makes everything harder.
You got a chance to surrender! Join our side, or we will, again fire!"

OOC: Godmodeing much? Thats it, i'm gone. This was atleast a good topic to start with.
Canedian Army
08-08-2008, 12:52
As canedian troops had one victory here, there will come more.

"Soldier! Move the artillery, to a few miles from the beach of the blub colony.
Yes sir!
Than wait for me there.
Yes sir!"

Later:
"Soldiers, of the migty army of the CANEDIANS!
Follow me to victory! Yelled the luitanant, who was now in charge there.
The soldiers yelled, and wanted to fire.
NOW! Fire! Fire! Go and fight for victory!
Than the luitanant fired the first shot with the artillery on the blub colony's base, camp with food and where they slept.
The luitanant took the AA-23 and the AA-24 army's, and told them this:
We are attacking with 70.000 soldiers, and 50.000 where coming from the base.
That makes an army of 120.000, but the 50.000 didnt arrived yet.
Well, i want the AA-24 as my army, following me at this battle.
Yes sir!
The AA-23, i want you for the thunder-2 artillery.
Yes sir!"
