Official Announcement of the International Automotive Manfuacturers' Alliance

Have you ever felt the need to produce grey econoboxes with no identity at all? To see your distinctive brand vanish in a wash of forced technology sharing and joined development?

We haven't.

The International Automotive Manufacturers' Alliance promotes originality, and does not support this blatant ripoff of our ideas. The so-called 'International Automotive Manufacturers' Union' is not recognised by IAMA and should not be joined, as it is a copycat reproduction of the IAMA industrial alliance and stands for the wrong ideals.

Next to this, IAMA has filed a lawsuit against IAMU for violating brand names, and copyright violations. The lawsuit will initially serve in a Van Luxemburger courtroom.

Signed,

Grand Duke Koen van Luxemburg
Chief Officer for Heritage and Design
International Automotive Manufacturers' Alliance

(OOC: This is a blatant ripoff of IAMA. I've tried to do this clean by doing it IC, but I'll ask it again out of character: Get this copycat thread out, please. Copying other people's ideas is frowned upon in Nationstates.)

This is simply a protest and the idea is different, as it encompasses technology and production co-operation as aims as well. We feel sorry that you missed the oppurtunity to co-operate on tech development. We will hire Liberelas state lawyers as this is NOT copy right infringement as this is IAMU. Glomo will continue to fight this case. Again we invite all IAMA members to join. We also beleive in using green tech within our brands without affecting character. In short we won't produce grey characterless econoboxes.

We will look forward to seeing you in court to be recognised by your country. Liberela, Socialists for people, Brum Brum, Corpies, Everyting, Joo Joo and the Freedom Republic will recognise IAMU as an official organisation!

(OOC: Once again, as I was saying, this time OOC (again), this is a blatant ripoff of IAMA. You can't just copy someone's ideas just because you weren't allowed in. You should at least have thought of a bit more of a different name and a different setup.

This whole thing is so close to IAMA that I am completely justified in saying this is a ripoff.)

[OOC: Not only will I back you up, I'll be quite happy to take it to the mods if you like. Liberela, your lack of brand name originality - by which I mean all the car brands that you've come up with, which appears to be blatant ripoffs or modifications of RL ones - wasn't endearing. Then this. You're going down the thoroughly hatable newbie road, so QUIT IT OR I'LL GET THE MODS IN. Good day]

After looking at different name we have decided to change our name to GAMU(Global Automotiblie Manufactauring Union). We hope we have resolved any brand issues and will once again invite your members to join on top of their membership to IAMA!

Any potential applicants please join on the GAMU thread!

(OOC: Changing the name now won't conceal that it is effectively the same. Plus, spamming II with threads that are essentially the same isn't a good idea.)

How do you ask mods to sweep this one?

OOC: They're very busy, so maybe better just leave this to fade away. Plus, in the event of your larching, we need proof.

Thanks, I wasn't trying to rip off VL's idea. I was looking Nissan/Renault, PSA/BMW engines idea. In other words tech and development as well as brand identity. So I was aiming more generally as IAMA wasn't right for me!
Van Luxemburg
01-08-2008, 16:01
(OOC: The PSA/BMW engine project was exactly the thing I was wanting to prevent from happening, as I remember that was the way Alfa Romeo lost one of the best engines in the world, and was forced to accept a slightly modified Holden/GM engine.

But anyways, Antigr's right. We all should let this fade.)

I don't think projects like them are necessarily bad for character, depends on how they are managed!
