The Royal Legion, the primary military apparatus of Atruria's Royalist government-in-exile is now recruiting, in preparation for a possible campaign to retake the Atrurian mainland and reinstate the monarch.

The Legion will take all (male) comers regardless of nationality, religion, race, criminal history, or other distinction. Any man who possesses the physical ability and soldierly prowess to complete the Legion's intensive basic training regimen is welcome as a Legionnaire. English is the primary language of the Legion; however, those that do not speak the language need not worry, as language instruction will be given at Legionnaire Basic Training.

All those who survive Legionnaire Basic Training will qualify as Royal Legionnaires and earn a gracious minimum wage of 60,000 Rands a year and free food and lodging. Once Atruria is retaken, veterans will be entitled to Atrurian citizenship, high pensions, full medical care for themselves and their families, and free housing.

Units & Formations

1st Skitso Paramilitärisch Battalion - 500 Men - "Ready For Anything"
Originally hailing from the Nation of Skitsjold's United Skitso Para-Military Forces, the 1st Skitso Paramilitärisch Battalion is an elite airborne infantry battalion that was seconded to the Royal Legion by the Skitsjold government. Though they are only equipped with the Royal Legion's standard Lee-Enfield Rifle, these Skitsjold paramilitaries more than make up for it in their intense discipline and training, and their wealth of experience in parachute insertion and guerrilla warfare.

1st Daemon Battalion - 500 Men - "Swift, Silent, Deadly"
Composed of rugged, battle-hardened mercenaries seconded from the Antanjyllian Daemon Corps, the 1st Daemon Battalion is a force to be reckoned with. Described by the Antanjyllian government as comparable to naval special forces, the Daemons are highly trained in amphibious assault.

2nd Daemon Battalion - 500 Men - "No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy"
Another battalion of Daemons seconded from the Antanjyllian armed forces, the 2nd Daemon Battalion performs essentially the same role as the 1st, adding another 500 men to the elite core of amphibious commandos.

1st Air Assault Battalion - 626 Men - "Rendezvous With Destiny"
The 1st Air Assault Battalion is composed of light infantry forces trained in parachute and helicopter-borne air assault tactics and skills. 1 Air Assault consists of four regular Air Assault companies and two Eagle-blessed Airborne companies seconded from the military of Emperatium Drakonicum. Often working closely with the 1st Skitso Paramilitärisch, 1 Air Assault is considered a semi-elite unit within the Royal Legion itself.

Royal Comguard Battalion - 200 Men - "Evil Be to Him Who Thinks Evil"
Composed of two companies of Imperial Comguards, seconded from the army of Emperatium Drakonicum, the Royal Comguard Battalion serves as a battalion of foot guards for the Legion.

- 9th Rifles Regiment - 2,000 Men
- 10th Rifles Regiment - 2,000 Men
A light infantry force, the 1st Rifles Division consists of twenty-thousand Riflemen, equipped with little more than the Legion's standard Lee-Enfield Rifles and the uniforms on their backs. Light, well-trained, and highly maneuverable, the Rifles are an ideal guerrilla force.

- 2nd Guards Regiment - 2,000 Men
- 3rd Guards Regiment - 2,000 Men

- 5th Guards Regiment - 2,000 Men
Consisting of the most disciplined, loyal, and trusted Legionnaires, the Old Guard Brigade forms the personal bodyguard of His Majesty, the High King of Atruria. Because of this, not only do the Old Guards have to be some of the most elite conventional infantry on the battlefield, but they also have to be highly skilled in drill and ceremony.

Royal Armored Corps - 1,000 Men - "We Fear Nothing"
The primary armored asset of the Royal Legion, the Royal Armored Corps is a single regiment, currently comprised of a headquarters squadron and three squadrons of eight Griffincrest-made Mercury-class LBTs each. The Royal Armored Corps has a reputation for high standards, with all prospective members of the regiment having to be trained as infantry before becoming a tanker. Primarily utilized as a rapid reaction force, the RAC also conducts reconnaissance missions, but rarely deploys in smaller numbers than a single squadron.

Romandeosian Volunteer Brigade - 8,000 Men - "Stand Firm And Strike Hard"
- 1st Romandeosian Volunteer Battalion - 800 Men

The Romandeosian Volunteer Brigade is another light infantry force within the legion. It is made up primarily of veterans of Romandeosian Imperial Army light infantry forces and Imperial Naval Infantry. Highly disciplined and rightfully feared, they fight with "the same tenacity, ferocity and courage the Romandeosians have always shown as soldiers, from the times of Rome."

Regiment of Field Artillery - 500 Men - "Whither Right and Glory Lead"
- 01 Battery - 100 Men - 20 L118 Light Guns
- 02 Battery - 100 Men - 20 L118 Light Guns

- 04 Battery - 100 Men - 20 L118 Light Guns

The Regiment of Field Artillery controls and directs all of the Royal Legion's artillery assets.

9th Cavalry Brigade - 5,000 Men - "For King and Country"
- 3rd Cavalry Regiment - 1,250 Men
- 6th Cavalry Regiment - 1,250 Men
- 8th Cavalry Regiment - 1,250 Men
- 11th Cavalry Regiment - 1,250 Men
The 9th Cavalry Brigade is unique in modern-day warfare in that it is a horse-mounted formation of the Royal Legion. Though officially called cavalry, the 9th deploys in a role much more comparable to mounted infantry, typically dismounting for combat. Typically, the 9th is deployed in reconnaissance and defensive roles, though it has been known on occasion to demonstrate prowess in offensive operations.

The Legionnaire's Creed

Loyalty, Valor, Courage, Fidelity, Integrity. These are Legionnaire Words.

Exceeding beyond the limitations set down by others shall be my goal. Sacrificing personal comforts and dedicating myself to the completion of the mission shall be my life. The ability to control my emotions and my actions regardless of circumstances sets me apart from other men. Uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast -- The title of Legionnaire is my honor.

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained trooper. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

I shall be forever bonded to my Rifle. I must fire my rifle true and learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. My rifle is a physical part of my body. I will ever guard it against damage as I will guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I know that what counts in this war is not the rounds I fire, the noise of my burst, nor the smoke I make. I know that it is the hits that count.

On the battlefield, as in all areas of life, I shall stand tall above the competition. Through professional pride, integrity, and teamwork, I shall be the example for all men to emulate.

Never will I surrender, though I be the last. I shall not engage in any action that may aid my enemy and the enemy of my Legion in any manner. If I am taken, I pray that I may have the strength to spit upon my enemy.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-and-ten-percent and then some.

Acknowledging the fact that a Legionnaire is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Legionnaire my I am expected to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

If knocked down I will get back up every time, because I persevere and thrive on adversity. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my fellow Legionnaires and accomplish the mission.

Realizing it is my choice and my choice alone to be a Legionnaire, I accept all challenges involved with this profession. Forever shall I strive to maintain the tremendous reputation of those who went before me.

Energetically will I meet the enemies of my Legion and defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my Legion.

From: Republic of Leistung
Subj: Highly trained pilots

We are very interested in this multi-national legion you are putting together and would like to volunteer 300 of our most highly trained air superiority pilots. Not only have they trained extensively in the finest academies and flight schools, but they also have experience in three major wars, all of which they preformed their duties admirably in.

They each speak English as their first language, and some speak either German or French. We would like to volunteer them for the Royal Flying Corps, but it is your ultimate decision where they end up. We feel that this would be an excellent training and combat experience for our pilots, and we know that you could always use more combat pilots.

We notice that you're using the Hawker Hunter Jet as your air superiority fighter. While this is not a bad choice, we would like to donate 42 of the much-renowned and well-loved F/A 15 Cardinal (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=523062) jet. It's the main fighter for the Bundesluft here in Leistung, and it's the plane mostly used by our volunteers. Obviously, it's your decision, but we'd still like to put the offer on the table.

Awaiting your response,

Chancellor Ringkampf,
We cannot thank you and your nation enough for your contribution of pilots to the Royal Legion. We also accept and thank you profoundly for your offer of Cardinals. We do realize that Hawker Hunters are somewhat outdated, but funds are tight and we take what we can get. Your contribution will not be forgotten when the High King returns to the throne.

Yours Truly,

Imperial Diplomatic Communication

Her Imperial Majesty's Government will contribute $3 billion NSD to help equip more effectively the forces of this unit.

In addition, about 8,000 Romandeosians have volunteerd to serve in this force. Given the fact that Romandeos uses a limited conscription system under the National Service Commitment it is safe to say most if not all of them have at least basic military experience.

For now, the volunteers are organized into 800 strong light infantry battalions named as the 1st through 10th Romandeosian Volunteers. This is because most of them served either as Imperial Army light troops, or as Imperial Naval Infantry.

I am not certain how many of them will want Atrurian Citizenship once you have re-taken your homeland, but I am sure that, while they serve you in this quest, they will fight with the same tenacity, ferocity and courage the Romandeosians have always shown as soldiers, from the times of Rome, into the present.

The Holy and Glorious Empire of Emperatium Drakonicum believes in the cause for which the Royal Legion was created. It intends to give real, physical support. To this end we send ammunition, supplies, weapons, and many men from the Empire's armed forces are being sent to join thine Royal Legion.

To whit, we commit 200 Imperial Comgaurds, two companies of Eagle-Blessed Airborne units, a full company of Imperial Heavy Cavalry, and two Drakon-blessed Imperial Fighters.

We hope that they may serve thee well.

From: Frederick Bluttrinker, PMA General

Allow me to introduce myself, though no doubt word of my infamy has reached your ears before. I am Frederick Bluttrinker of the PMA (Parilisan Monarchist Army), enemy of the so called Republic of Parilisa, despiser of the Socialist dogs who rape the country I once called my own. They brand us terrorists, they brand us anarchists, they arrest us and lock us up, making us martyrs for our most holy cause. We support the restoration of Monarchy in Parilisa, and the destruction of the illegal Republic which rules in it's stead. In 2005, when the enemies of the King rebelled against him and took his power, I vowed that I would not rest until the monarchy had been restored in my Fartherland.

I will lead my men to meet you, to fight alongside you. They are the Royal Rifles, they number around 500 men and amongst them is the sniper Heinz Adleraugen who succesfuly assasinated the"Prime-Minister" of Parilisa last year. They will fight ruthlessly until your country is once again a realm of Monarchy.

Although perfectly trained in terrorist combat and warfare in general I will lead them to your training camp and meet with your generals.

May God grant our mission every success,

Frederick The Blood Drinker

Ok-La-Ho-Ma: The Monarchy thanks you for your offer but must reject. We cannot regain the sovereignty of our state just to lose it, any degree of it, once more.

1Flight: The Legion thanks you graciously for your offer. We will accept all willing and able volunteers into the Legion.

OOC: I've just realized that I didn't need 300 pilots, since the F/A-15 Cardinal is only a 2-person plane, and there's only 42 total. Therefore, only 84 pilots will be sent, and the remainder will be maintenance crews, trained in the same prestigious schools as our pilots, and with strong bonds to their respective planes and pilots.

Dont u mean 164 cause 84 times 2 is 164 or are u only going 2 have 1 piolet per plane?

No, I meant there were 42 planes and 84 pilots. My post was worded strangely, though.

Some awful bar in a small meaningless town, Imperial East Africa

Herman wiped the sweat away from his eyes with his sleeve and swallowed the rest of the whiskey. The air conditioner was broken - again - and the only methods of cooling yourself in the stifling heat were either drinking the near-poisonous local brews or dabbing the sweat away with your clothing. Herman had opted to do both as it was an exceptionally hot day.

How low have we fallen he sighed, looking at his now sweat-covered jacket. It was the uniform of a Storm-Captain from the 5th SS 'Zionbane' division from before the fall of the Pact of Iron. Unlike those who had kept their uniforms and switched in loyalty to the Empire of the Wolf, Herman and many other proud citizens of the Pact had remained true to National Socialism and the Fuhrer. At the collapse of the Pact, hundreds of thousands had taken to the wastes to rage a bitter guerilla war against the new Empire. Naming themselves the Ironclads, the guerrilas had ensured that supply lines between the cities had been harried, crops burnt and raw materials seized. The war had gone well at first but as the Imperial troops gained in experience and organisation the war and Ironclad casualties mounted, the balance shifted in favour of the Imperials. Many Ironclad groups had relocated to the furthest parts of Imperial territory to avoid extermination, and when the time came Central Command would call them back to Skgorria or Atopiana for the final strike. They had relocated five years ago, and the Empire has only grown stronger. Shaking his head, he stood up and left the bar - the barkeep knew better than to charge Herman for anything.

Temporarily blinded by the harsh light as he left the bar, Herman's eyes refocused to see his soldiers loitering in the town square. The town authorities, unaware of their true identity, had hired Herman's soldiers as mercenaries to guard the town from the tribals three years ago and many seemed content here.

"Alright you miserable lot, fall in!" He bellowed, and quickly card games, drinks, local men and women were abandoned. Within two minutes the two hundred and fifty men and women of Ironclad Cell *16 had lined up in three ranks.
"At east everyone. It's time to be honest," he sighed, looking at the ranks of soldiers. All had fought the Imperial authorities for years and their bodies and equipment bore many scars. Keeping a constant uniform had been nearly impossible so some wore a mismatch of civilian clothes and whatever military kit they had to hand, some teenagers wore the Fascist Youth Legion uniform whilst some still had their original uniforms from whatever military or paramilitary organisation they had once belonged to.
"Central Command is not going to call us back. There is going to be no grand strike on Ianovich or his guard dog Beckenbauer, no grand uprising of the Volk to throw off the Judaeo-Bolshevik shackles. Cell *16, our cause is lost." Herman braced for the inevitable backlash, but none came. A few tears came into eyes, but all held firm.
"You are all proud men and women, and is has been a pleasure to serve with you all. I know not what we will do now, but I know over the past ten years you have all become my family." He drew a deep breath to steady his wavering voice, then continued.
"I do not wish to stay here in this town, but I know that some of you will. I am sure that the mayor will gladly keep you here. Any of those who wish to follow me, remain in ranks. The rest of you depart back to your homes. For the last time, BATTALION!" He drew his shoulders back in a parade-perfect pose. "BATTALION, AT ATTENTION!" Two hundred pairs of heels clacked together. Raising his right arm in the roman salute, Herman called out,
"SEIG HEIL!"
"SEIG HEIL!" Boomed the response of the soldiers, many choking back emotions. As they all lowered their arms, a few picked their way out of the ranks silently, shortly to be joined by many more - some had wives or husbands here, others were simply tired of war. By the end only fifty six remained in the ranks.
"Close in," Herman beckoned, and the soldiers shuffled in. He was struggling to cope with the disintegration of his family and the cause he had fought for for years, but resolved to carry on. "I suppose a foreign legion is our best bet now, don't suppose the Wulven Foreign Legion will have us." This brought a chuckle from them all.
"What about the Arturians," piped up an Atopian woman in the uniform of a Blackshirt militiawoman, "they're recruiting for a campaign to take back their homeland. They're bound to have us?"
Thinking it over, Herman smiled. "Not a bad idea Corporal. I always wanted to go to the beach."
