Sitting in senate, the President watched over the proceedings that were going on below him. An emergency meeting of Senate had been called following the announcement of hostilities between LION and the Hegemony. Or rather, the blister that was the imperialistic powers of the world had finally gathered enough hate to burst. Since the situation with Deserted Territories, Alfegos had tried to stay out of the way of actively attacking this nation, save for the sortie with an airship approaching a state that had been pledged help by the Hegemony. Whilst it had mainly been because of extremely powerful forces being involved on the opposition's side, there had been that other nagging reason nobody had yet admitted to supporting: respect. A nation with the audacity to commit to an imperialistic invasion of an innocent state and to stand up to a Hegemonic invasion brought itself up in the minds of both the government and the public, and since it a clean sheet in terms of such activities Alfegos actively sought to eradicate, it had become something of an icon.
The single observation stratellite had been the only contribution Alfegos had put into that theatre, to try and help the Hegemony whilst following its own agenda. A simple decision, but now followed up by a much more difficult one. Below, the Consul stood to speak.
"As we are all aware, our closest allies before the joining of this Hegemony of Nations who are within them face elimination in this darkest hour. Kirav, Neo-Ixania, Mokastana. From a high authority, I have heard that our two Novan brothers are protected by that underlying regional bond that would ensure that any attempt to invade any Novan nations, nay even enter Novan waters, would result in something much more than interception by a couple half-hearted ULR missiles. No, it would go out of the hands of those who chose to enter these waters with hostile intent and into those powers who would not look fondly upon them. And with the further withdrawal of Neo-Ixania from the Hegemony, we find ourselves with a burden lifted.
But there is, senators assembled before me, more than just that. Our great ally of Pan-Arab Barronia, and friends of Faxnavia and Zinaire are both involved in this aimless crusade. To attack them would be to slander those ties we have with them, yet not to would rip us away from those who will be making a stand: Lord Sumguy, Greal, Caezilia, and above all Mokastana. The last one poses the rending dilemma of us supporting not just a fellow Hegemony member, but a senior member of the Fegosian Union.
We are faced, it appears, with three options. Attack the LION threat boldly, and watch as we both lose valuable assets abroad and push Nova into its darkest hour yet. Sit back and watch as other valuable allies are rolled over by this oppressive tide. Or choose the third way."
The background murmur to the speech became a roar as she bowed, before leaving the podium in a flash of coloured robes.

Subject - Declaration of Stance in this Conflict
Greetings to those assorted nations that comprise the LION alliance. As you are doubtlessly aware, whilst Alfegos has important allies in the Hegemony, it also has them in LION, such as Pan-Arab Barronia. As such, it has opted to open discussions with LION regarding its stance in the conflict.
Alfegos has, considering all options, declared that no direct military support will be given to the nations of the Hegemony who are to make a stand in this great war. In exchange, it wishes that all citizens of Fegosian nationality, all Alfegan interests and most certainly all Alfegan Territories are treated as neutral. This agreement does not restrict the supply of equipment, resources and money to the Hegemonic nations fighting, nor does it restrict trade between any nation of either alliance. This will neither stop any joint forces of the Fegosian Union being deployed to protect a Fegosian Union member.
In case this deal is not honoured by any of the LION nations, we have received word from authorities outside of our immediate influence that if any LION craft of any sort deemed to be entering the region of Nova are detected, then all power Alfegos has in guaranteeing non-aggression towards the offending nations will be shifted to these higher authorities. We have been assured that no quarter will be given to the offending craft, and that no means will be barred in the pursuit of their immediate destruction. The same is true if hostile intent is declared towards any other Novan nation, including Neo-Ixania and Kirav.
We thank all nations involved for listening to this announcement, and hope any conflicts can be resolved by peaceful means.
