Invitation to Darkness (Future Tech, alliance creation, for less-than-good nations)

"It is an amusing prospect," said a voice in the darkness, an amused human voice, "After the failure of the Order, we have remained entirely solitary, as is our way. It would be... Humorous for us to attempt to create something somewhat similar."

"Yes," responded a cold and whispering voice, "I knew you would appreciate the irony. And because of this, I am sure you will..."

"Accept this task?"

The man smirked. Although it was dark, the other being could still see it.

"You are absolutely correct. I would never pass up something of this nature."

"Very good," said the being and nodded its translucent head, "I am sure the Queen will be pleased to hear of your... Compliance."

"Hmph," he murmured, his smirk turning into an aggravated grin, "I would do this even without it bringing me to her 'good graces' again. Understand this, fellow Dusk Elder: I do this out of my own volition."

"What ever you say," it replied, "Know that we have already prepared a place for you to conduct this... Meeting."

The being waved its near-invisible hand. An illusion of a small, Earth-like planetoid appeared before the two, illuminating the room and bringing visibility to levels in which a human could see. The man was wearing a fine purple robe, his features were generally quite average - nothing about him really stood out. The being with him was highly translucent and hovering above ground. It was obvious that the creature was a spectre.

"It is this world. Everything is ready. All you must do is go there... And wait."

"Where, exactly, is it?"

"Know."

The illusion disappeared, and the being placed its right, noncorporeal hand upon the forehead of the man. The touch was beyond cold - but it did not bother him. Within moments, all the information he needed flooded into his mind, and soon after the being took its hand off of his head.

The man grinned again.

"Very well. I shall go there at once. I shall wait there."

"Good. Once you have gone, we shall begin the final preparations."

The man nodded, disappearing into the darkness.

And shortly after, a transmission of some kind was sent to a multitude of nations across the known multiverse. The targeted nations were not good - many of them were downright evil. Many others in the list would be considered "neutral" - or at least would like themselves to be considered as such. But their actions speak otherwise. Be it genocide, xenocide or simple callousness when it comes to the murder of innocent civilians during combat - they were all considered to be suitable, as long as their actions had no demonic side to them. As a result quite a few, if not all, of the Galactic Empire's members were excluded, as they have been touched by Infernal forces in the form of "Chaos".

--TRANSMISSION STARTED

An ancient force is rising. The future is clear; darkness unseen by the vile forces of Chaos nor their detestable allies shall be unleashed upon the Universe. In time, they shall crumble with the others - those who delude themselves with false hopes. Of a future with no war. No darkness.

No death.

We have foreseen it. It will not happen next year. Nor ten years. But it will happen. Their lights will be extinguished, one after another, and in the end, there shall be only Darkness.

No, this is not a declaration of war.

This is an invitation. An invitation for those who we have deemed to have potential. For those who we believe to come forth and hear our words. For those who might wish to join our cause. Indeed, this is an invitation to be a part in the creation of a new alliance.

Come to the coordinates embedded in this transmission. Bring only a token amount of vessels.

Your efforts shall be rewarded.

--TRANSMISSION ENDED

By the time the transmission had begun to reach its intended recepients, the man had already arrived at his destination.

((OOC: As you might've guessed, this is an invitation for a creation of a new FT-y alliance for the evil to somewhat evil nations. This is meant to be a peaceful meeting without all kinds of acts of sabotage or random interference. Massive warfleets of doom will be wiped out in an instant. Note that I haven't stated the name of the nation in the more open IC part of the post, and there's close to no nations that even know its true name, so all IC-y metagamey "hay Ermor" or "hay Ashen Empire" posts will be ignored. I don't intend to name the nation as anything else but "the Empire" anyway.

The coordinates are for a gate into the place the meeting will take place, so those who wish to come won't be able to just hop straight in without clearance, and this also will reduce the chances of some guy just showing up and trying to blast the meeting place.

That's all for now.))

The Interstellar Command of Xharn did not consider itself an evil government. It is however a highly aggressive and Xenophobic military organization that used its resources to conqueror several star systems into it's already massive dominion.

The Star fleets of the Central Guard had effectively and systematically wiped out several minor alien races across at least fifteen planets to make way for human colonization. These actions were probably why the Interstellar Command of Xharn were chosen to recieve this transmission from this unknown source....

Xharn Star System
Xharn III

The Central Command housed in the National Palace in Neo Xharnia city listened to the tranmission that had been picked up by several recon outposts on the frontier of the Command's ruthless Hegemony. The aged leaders listened to this proposal from this mysterious organization and decided to send an ambassador to represent the intrest of the Command at this meeting..

A single Battleship (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/ImperialBattleship.png) from the Central Guard was dispatched from recently conquered Levin System to head towards the coordinates to meet this unknown organization and see how they might prove benifical to the Interstellar Command.

Siriel, the Shade Queen of the Shade Lords, Mistress of Allocen, and the strongest Shade in existence glanced at this message with a keen amount of interest. The presence inherent in this message tingled her with a giddy kind of feeling, and brought her great interest in what this strange being had to say. She stood up and smiled. She had a location to go to and a message to hear.

"You, Nijai." The robotic warrior paused and turned to look at her, bowing.

"Prepare a Cruiser for departure. I have somewhere I need to be." The Nijai bowed and left, making the preparations. Now, the thing on her mind was what she was going to wear......She giggled; she couldn't wear anything else, it all turned a faded color and turned to dust. Ah well, the flowing black dress would have to do. Walking down the stairs from her throne, she grabbed an orb as she hummed and bit into it. The screams of the soul went unnoticed as she continued to chow down on it as she walked.

It would be only two hours later when the massive cruiser Queen of Shadow shimmered into physical space at the promised location. A message was sent out identifying it as a representation of the Elder Shade and it was here to partake in the talks.

The Xharnian battleship and the Queen of Shadow were greeted by a fleet of pitch black ships of varying sizes which just sat there in a wall-like formation, dead in space, surrounding what looked like a massive and archaic gate of somekind from all sides except what was apparently the front, which, coincidentally, was the side the two ships had arrived at. On further inspection, closest to the gate were two space stations of some unknown configuration, both of which were as long as the other but were taller than the gate itself, both of which were as pitch black as the gate itself and the vessels surrounding them. Protrusions from both ends of the stations conjoined them to each other and the gate itself, although smaller beams of some strange alloy attached them to the gate on their entire lengths.

Their main purpose was obvious to anyone: Defense of the gate. Any scan would note the presence of countless weapons of different sizes - capital ship-grade weapons, point defense turrets, missile launchers of many kinds and so forth. Even alone the stations would be death traps to anyone attempting to force entry. With the sizeable fleet in its vicinity, it was obvious that any hostile action taken against them would be suicide without taking truly extreme measures.

Two transmissions came forth from the stations, one pointed at the Xharnian battleship, other at the cruiser, although they were identical in their content.

We have verified your place of departure, and have confirmed the validity of your presence here.

The Empire welcomes you.

You are allowed entry. Simply take your vessel into the Gate. On the other side you shall receive another transmission from the forces stationed there for your final destination.

--TRANSMISSION ENDED

While the gate seemed as though it was inactive to an untrained eye, it was obvious from the energy readings coming from it that it was not. Whether it was safe to use or not was of course anybody's guess - but that was through which they would have to travel.

((OOC: Chronosia, it ain't personal! You should know that Ermor doesn't like Infernal forces, and through that extension Chaos which is equated with the forces of Inferno, and that ends up meaning you.))

Siriel came out of Shadow Space, only to find an awe-inspiring sight. A massive fleet of midnight black ships hovered in space, not moving on patrols or vectors, but simply staying where they were located. A massive gate was with them, between two massive stations. The sensors read the massive amounts of weapons on the stations and even she knew this ship, her personal ship, would have a tough, if not impossible time, breaking through. Which was impressive, though their technology was made to steal energy, not destroy. So there was that weakness there. A Nijai turned.

"Channel received? Shall we proceed?" She nodded and the words appeared in the holoscreen.

Siriel looked at the NIjai. "Tell them we understand and have the ship move into the gate." The synthetic nodded and sent the response, and had the ship begin to move. Without any sign of engines, it began to move and headed into the Gate. Siriel braced herself. If the welcoming committee she had just seen was any indicator, the next bit would be incredible.

As this was announced an official message was quickly tendered by the Federations Department of state, representing the Logan administrations harsh anti evil and anti totalitarianism polices. It stated quite clearly :

The United Terran Federation, will maintain a stern stance against this new development in every way shape and form, as such our nation shall consider any attack on federation shipping, territory or allied forces , an act of war, and will respond accordingly. We shall declare a stern trade embargo upon any nation engaging in this alliance, and declare all ships associated with this group level gamma threats with in our territory meaning any ship entering Federation territory unauthorized will be destroyed.

The being attempted to smirk as it listened to the "United Terran Federation's" message, but only managed a ghastly grin with its disfigured, spectral face. It was known to it that the contents of the transmission would spread out sooner or later, as sending transmissions of the sort without it happening would have been an impossibility.

But considering the quick response, it was obvious that an interception of the message had occured. But as things were, it knew that the "Terrans" did not know the full extent of the message, nor even the location given in it. It was likely that they indeed did not even know that a location of some sort was given in the message.

It was amusing how they would so readily condemn the alliance before even knowing its name or composition, although, it had been expected that some nations would do so, and in the grand scheme of things, it had no bearing on the alliance or its formation.

They were stumbling in the dark, which was perfectly acceptable for the ancient Dusk Elder. Talk did not hurt anyone, especially when the ones doing the talking were of no consequence for those it was pointed at.

((OOC: Before I continue on the actual thing, I'm going to wait for Xharn to reach the Gate as well while waiting for possible other folks to show up, too, although I'm not holding my breath over that.))

Footsteps echoed throughout the spacious corridor as the man walked through it, torches on each side lighting up with quite regular fire as he passed them. The light revealed what looked like powerarmors resting their gloves upon the handles of large, pitch black axes between every two torches on the sides. A red carpet lead through the entire corridor, from the entrance to giant wooden doors. The man walked past all the dark pathways which would have lead into different parts of the place, continuing on forwards, and more torches lighted up as he passed them.

He grinned wryly as he reached the doors and opened them, just enough to enter the room behind them. Once he was on the other side, he closed the doors behind him.

Now all he could do was wait, trusting that others would come.
EmeriKa
28-07-2008, 23:26
"It seems that one of them has entered the Gate, Lord Dusk Elder," whispered a being from the shadows in the room, "Your wait shall not be long."

The man grinned again, not turning to face the creature. It would have been pointless, anyway - the voice was echoing across the room, and you cannot really see a shadow within the shadows.

"Good. Anything else?"

"No, Lord. I shall leave you to your thoughts."

The man nodded and closed his eyes. Soon...

Soon.

((OOC: I'll wait some more for Xharn to post before I really continue. It might be something from twelve to twenty four hours, if not more. I don't really want to be too impatient with this.))

((OOC: There's only so many ways I can say nothing in. I think this will be the last post before I will continue on, so if Xharn hasn't posted before it he should just assume that his ship went through the Gate and did what Telros's people will be told to do. Others who might want to pop up but were a bit late are allowed to do the same, of course, if they think their nation fits the description. Note that nations that don't fit it would have their ships stopped before they could get into the Gate, even after this RP gets to the part beyond the Gate.

Since there will be at least a couple of steps more before they'll arrive at the actual place where everything'll happen, it's not that bad to go forward a bit, really.))

Once the ship had entered the gate, it seemed as though everything outside it went black. There were no flashing lights, nothing. The ship was obviously moving - but where, or even how was not quite that apparent.

After a while, a spot of light appeared before them, and it began to grow as the ship approached it - and the ship, shortly after, was forced to enter it.

Then they found themselves in real space once more.

As the Queen of Shadow slipped into the other side of the gate, those inside the ship would notice that the view there was quite different from the entry point. There had been no celestial bodies in close proximity of that particular gate, but the one through which they had come just a few moments before was in orbit of an Earth-like planet, which, just like Earth, had vast oceans between several continents. A single moon was partly visible, as it was slowly slipping behind the planet, while a star, not all that different when it came to Sol, was perfectly visible in the distance.

Hundreds, if not thousands of pitch black vessels, the same kind they had seen earlier, could be seen orbiting the planet with at least a dozen space stations in their midst in apparent geosynchronous orbits, towering over the vessels like giants.

The next transmission came from one of the stations attached to this particular gate, quite obviously pointed at the Queen of Shadow, and it was in text only, just like the one before.

The Queen of Shadows shot from the gate into real space and Siriel had not been proven wrong. There were thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of black ships hovering in the stillness of space and countless more of the defensive platforms filled the orbit of a single planet with a moon. She pursed her lips in interest, her eyes narrowing with curiosity. Who were these beings? And how could they command such power?

"Milady, a message is coming from the planet." Siriel nodded to the Nijai, whom typed in the command and the message displayed itself.

She nodded and sent a reply. As she made the message, she noticed the ships moving. There was no need. Shade Lords didn't have any shuttle craft for a reason.

"We shall be down shortly." She nodded to the Shade standing next to her, the captain of her flagship, whom would take over in her absence. She walked over to a wall and melded with the shadow, instantly coming out of the darkness in the the Nijai assembly rooms. A squad of Nijai Reapers came with her, their black armor gleaming under the light and their weapons held in their large hands. She nodded to the four of them and they entered the shadow of the room, and not even a second later, came out of the shadows at the designated site given to them in the transmission. She turned to face the servants of the Empire and bowed, waiting for them to speak.

The land surrounding them, as they would have probably noted, was charred. It was as though everything there had been burned down and something was keeping nature from bringing everything back to life. The ground was hard, and considering the way it looked, oddly smooth as well. A rather gigantic black wall of some kind was well behind them. It disappeared behind the equally black building which laid before them in the distance. Obviously they were inside the walls of some fortress-like structure.

What was waiting for them was a group of human-like beings in power armor as pitch black as the vessels they had seen before. It wore a torn, red cape over the back of its power armor, which fluttered a little in the light wind. Something protruded from beneath it, but it was difficult to say what exactly it was. In its hands was a rather large contraption which only could be a weapon. The others were quite the same - except they had no capes.

"Good... You are here," said the red caped one with its cold and inhuman voice, bowing slightly in response to Siriel's own bow, We have been expecting you. You shall be taken into the main building of the Obsidian Citadel now. These two," he said, pointing at two of the other power armored figures, Shall escort you there. All your questions will be answered once you go there."

In the dim light of sputtering fat-lanterns, amidst the sighs and groans of worship at the pleasure temple, did the news arrive upon the lips of the Faceless Lord. He bowed before the dais of silvered skulls, prostrated himself before the armored head of the Kabal. Chill seeped up from the metal floor, a minor discomfort for a petty man. The news floated, a whisper from the Faceless Lord's cracked lips. Yet again did darkness gather the mon-keigh about its feet.

The only sign Rath had heard was a momentary glance, the tiniest shift of his weight. The Archon had grown moody and unpredictable since the death of his daughter. Or presumed death - the vile necrons had left hints, certainly on purpose, that Nascia was not dead. Certainly no one had been able to find her body since the bloody feast, years ago.

A piercing shriek broke the silence. The pitiless eyes of Rath's helm turned out to the writhing bodies, where shadowy eldar spattered one another with blood and viscera. A gesture from the Archon dismissed the Faceless Lord; preparations must be made, an envoy dispatched, but none of that was as important as the entertainment taking shape in the shallow basin of the pleasure temple. At least, not yet. The Kabal would watch, and wait, and see if anything worthy came of this new venture.

...

A wound was torn in the side of the universe. Blue and red tendrils of light and ephemera trailed from the form of a sleek Eldar shuttle, blending into an ugly violet as the rift closed. The Dark Kin had come, and now they awaited whatever would happen next.

"Now that," said a power armored being who stood beside a human at a window inside one of the stations which surrounded the gate, its torn purple cape resting on its back, "That is a sight I never thought I would see again."

"The Dark Eldar, am I right?"

"Correct. I remember that they attempted... Many things when the Order was falling."

The man grinned.

"But we were ready."

"Yes. We were ready."

"Do you think they can be trusted?"

"No," was the response, "But who could be? Those who dwell within the darker ends of the Universe tend to only care about their own agendas."

"Just like us."

"Indeed," said the armored one and laughed for a moment, "But many others are bound by time in ways we are not. It is, in some ways... Understandable."

"True," said the man, turning towards the power armored being, "But what are we going to do about these Dark Eldar?"

"We will let them pass. They were a useful ally for as long as it lasted. That has not changed. If they join us once more... We will keep an eye on them."

"Very well, Arch Censor."

Shortly after, a transmission was sent to the shuttle.

Oh yes, and interested parties may attempt to join it through roleplay even if it's not a proper alliance.))
