World Meteorological Association Tropical Cyclone Forecasting Offices

Countries that gain a Forecasting Office are responsible for the follow: issuing tropical weather outlooks, monitoring and forecasting of all tropical systems, air craft recon for gathering information about the intensity of tropical systems, and the advancement of tropical cyclone forecasting. One nation issues forecast for the entire ocean they are responsible for. Those are the only official forecasts the WMA will accept.

OOC:

Aqua Anu: Do you have a map of this region?

Daiwiz: South Africa would get hit, occasionally from the Indian Ocean. You want the Indian Ocean?

Revolutionary Esparada: Does your nation touch the Pacific Ocean? If so, I need someone to monitor the Eastern and Central Pacific. It's a huge ocean area, so it's up for grabs. The Atlantic Ocean north of the equator would encompass the Western/Central Atlantic and the Caribbean. I do, however, need someone to help monitor this portion of the world, and would adore you helping me out greatly!

(OOC: The Caribbean Sea is not an ocean, but it is part of the North Atlantic Basin. By allowing only one nation to forecast the oceans as deliniated above avoids confusion and conflicting forecasts. Once a nation has been given it's ocean of responsibility, that nation may consult foreign hurricane centers and also create joint hurricane centers to better assist in forecasting.)

Tropical Weather Ooutlook for the Atlantic Ocean north of the Equator including the Gulf and Caribbean Sea

The KHC is monitoring an area of disturbed weather about 1000 miles West of the Cape Verde Islands. This area is moving west-northwest at about 15 miles per hour. This system has the potential to become a tropical depression in the next few days.

A tropical wave is crossing into the Caribbean Sea. Some squally weather is expected as it passes, but development of this system, should it occur, would be slow.

Elsewhere, Tropical Storm formation is not expected within the next 48 hours
