The Kinstantian Hurricane Center, recently upgraded with over 2 billion dollars worth of state-of-the-art equipment, is monitoring the oceans for the development of Tropical Cyclones. Our responsibility is for the Atlantic Ocean north of the Equator. Nations wishing to assist us in monitoring other world oceans, please sign up with the form below.

2008 Atlantic Hurricane Season Forecast
The 2008 Season already started off with a band, and forecasters here at the KHC are predicting an unusually busy year. The forecast calls for 18-23 names storms, 14 of which should become hurricanes, and 7 of which should become major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher). In an average year, there should be 9-11 names storms, 6 of which become hurricanes, 3 of which become major hurricanes.

World Meteorological Association Tropical Cyclone Forecasting Offices
Countries that gain a Forecasting Office are responsible for the follow: issuing tropical weather outlooks, monitoring and forecasting of all tropical systems, air craft recon for gathering information about the intensity of tropical systems, and the advancement of tropical cyclone forecasting. One nation issues forecast for the entire ocean they are responsible for. Those are the only official forecasts the WMA will accept.
