A Storm on the Horizon (OPEN RP, MT/Early PMT)

Falkasia

(OOC: If you want to take part, you can send in a team of agents to help Falkasia or fight against it. This is my first RP as well, so any suggestions would be helpful.)

There was a tension in the air. The people could feel it, the soldiers could feel it, even the Prime Minister could feel it. Everybody could feel it, and yet nobody did anything about it. For years, there had been conflicts between various political parties in the northern parts of Falkasia. Only recently had they moved south, closer towards the populated areas, closer towards places that mattered, closer towards all out war. For a short while there was peace, but just like all great deceptions of the world, it was merely the calm before the storm...

Somewhere over the North Atlantic-
Through the rough and stormy seas of the North Atlantic materialized a boat. As it creasted the whitecaps, the Falkasian flag on it's side became visible, along with it's name,"Good Tidings". It was no ordinary freightor, but a specialized seacraft commissioned by the Falkasian military to carry some very special cargo. Their destination was unknown to the crew. Only the Captain knew, and had been sworn to secrecy through threats of being charged with reason and executed. It had been an uneventful trip so far.

Out of the dark clouds descended a dark, unmarked Mi-8 Transport Helicopter, turning off it's guidence lights as it approached the freightor. In the back, 8 figures stood up, each cocking their weapons and checking their equipment one last time. The helicopter approached the bow of the ship still undetected, stopping to a hover over the control room. Out of rear door dropped two fast-ropes, followed in quick succession by all eight figures. Dropping onto the deck, quick bursts of silenced fire eliminated any opposition they may have faced.

Kicking in the entrance door, they advanced inside and down a few flights of rusty stairs into the cargo hold. From there, they knew exactly where they were going. Running up to an unmarked, undescernable shipping container, they pried the door open with crowbars. Inside the large container was a smaller one, bearing the Biological symbol on all surfaces. It had no top, and in neat rows contained 12 small vials, each bearing a label and biological marking. "Too easy," one of the men mumbled as he picked up a vial and surveyed it.

Falkasian Museum of Crappy Commie Clutter of the World-
Amid a cheering audience, public news stations, and camera flashes, a museum spokesperson stood before a podium, waiting for the crowd to settle down before speaking.

"Thank you, Thank you." He said once the crowd had become silent. "It has taken us 3 years of hard work to get here. I'd like to personally thank my administrative staff for all the nights they've spent trying to make ends meet. I'd like to thank our construction crews for all the hard work they've put into this beautiful building, and I'd like to thank most of all the Falkasian Government for the funding to building such a museum to honor the crappy communist clutter of yesterday that litters our world today."

Among the crowd, 12 men sliently drew guns from underneath their coats and jackets, cocking them and preparing them for a fire-fight. The museum had only two security guards, who were occupied right now with the spokesperson's speech. "This is going to be too easy," thought one of them, a man in his late 50s with a scruffy beard and chiselled complexion.

"Among our exhibits include such things as the first ever produced AK-47 in the Soviet Union, a BMP-1 APC with tank shell holes in it, and most importantly, a relic of Falkasia's past; a SCUD IV rocket. Now... I present to you, the Falkasian Museum of Crappy Commie Clutter, of which is now.....officially.....open!"

The crowd erupted in cheering. Confetti streamed down from poppers mounted to the ceiling. The man with the beard tapped his ear, and mouthed, "Now!"

All 12 men drew their guns incredibly fast, letting loose a spray of bullets towards the ceiling, sending a storm of plaster and dust floating towards the ground. The crowd began to scream and panic. "Everyone down!"

The two guards, who were zoned out during the speech had kicked into action, drawing their pistols and shooting towards the terrorists. They knew they were outmatched, semi-automatic pistols versus fully automatic submachine guns. The guards dove behind the podium, flipping it on it's side and using it as cover. As for the terrorists, they flipped their guns to full-auto and peppered the stand. Sprays of red mist exploded from behind the podium and painted the white-washed plaster walls with blood. Both guards had been hit more than a dozen times with 7.62 rounds. One was dead, but the other was just barely hanging on.

"I want a TV camera up here!" shouted the bearded man, who apparently was the leader.

Rummaging around the 40 or so hostages, most of whom were from foreign countries, one of his men picked out a woman and a TV Cameraman, forcing them up at gun point. "Will these work?"

"Yes, now bring them over here."

At gun point, the terrorist forced the two hostages toward the leader. The cameraman set up his camera.

"I am Vassili Kamorov, leader of the Falkasian Revolutionary Army. If you have not heard of us, you may know it as another name, the Slaughter Party. These so-called leaders of Falkasia are corrupt, and must be removed. Therefore, we demand that all Falkasian leaders step down, to be replaced by candidates choosen by the people. If our demand is not met within 72 hours, we not only execute every last hostage in this building, but also launch biological warheads at every major city in the region, whether it be Falkasian, friend, or foe. You may be asking, what grounds do we have to make such a radical threat?"

Behind him, two terrorists carried a topless crate, marked on all sides with the biological symbol into the view. Vassili gently grasped a vial and brought into view of the camera.

"This..." he said,"this... is our method." He turned around, and pointed to the faint outline of the SCUD IV on display. "And that.... is our weapon."

yet in a remote area near Fasalkia (or whatev its called) The event was being monitored by mysterious men in black. one stated "Gather our militia men. We're going in to support those terrorists. As two other men hastened to make calls on their cell phones, a third stood motionless, because he knew it wasn't right. HEY shouted the commander, order our troops NOW! Reluctantly the man drew out his phone, and called his regiment. We're moving to support terrorist action in Fasalkia, now, ready yourselves. The men all dressed in their combat vests and gathered their weapons, each one being handed a Springfield, a Berreta, and an ak-47. They hastily marched out the door. They loaded into their helicopters and flew off, the blades rotating at high velocity and kicking up dust in the desert. The men, even if they did not agree with their leaders plan, had to serve their country.

Meanwhle, the leader of the nation supporting the terrorists, sat in his private study. His plans were going perfectly. Now all he had to do was inform the priests of the Church to write the sermons that would bolster his people to the cause he was so devoted to.

Word of the hostage crisis and the demands eventually reached Falkasian Military Headquarters. In his private study, Brigadier General Dimitri Karasov was reviewing some papers when a knock came from his door. "Come in," he said without looking up from his work. A young desk clerk walked in and saluted. "At ease," the general said. "What have you got for me?"

"Not anything good, if that's what your asking."

"Well... what is it?"

"You remember that today is the grand opening of the Commie Clutter Museum, right?"

"Yes I do. What about it?"

"Well apparently sir.... terrorists have taken the building hostage and barricaded themselves inside. Multiple SWAT teams have already been dispatched and the area has been cordoned off by local police."

"Is that all? If it is, why are you bothering me with it?" the general asked, still reviewing his papers.

"No sir," replied the clerk. "There's much more. The terrorists have demanded that all leaders of Falkasia step down from their posts. We have 72 hours, starting at midnight tonight. If we refuse, they said, they would kill the hostages and launch warheads at our neighboring countries. The would obviously cause a war no doubt."

The general dropped him papers, letting them float off the desk.

"How long ago was this?"

"About and hour, sir."

"WHY THE HELL WASN'T I INFORMED?!!"

"Sir, the information came in only a few moments ago."

"DAMNIT! Before I scramble the Army and inform the FSAC, I want to know if we are 100% sure they can back up these threats!"

"Sir...." the clerk replied, grabbing a remote from the general's desk and flipping on a TV. "Take a look for yourself."

The TV was tuned to a news station. The screen was filled with an image of the terrorist leader, his expression emotionless. In his hand was a clear glass vial, marked with a small label and biological sign. Penned onto the label were the words "Ebola II."

The general's mouth dropped.
"May god help us all."

“As Falkasia falls into chaos, the Republic of Paralisa has issued a formal statement of it’s position in the crisis,” said the excited reporter on the TV screen “saying that although it wishes to remain neutral it intends to try and keep the peace in Falkasia at whatever cost. The Paralasian Government urge the Falkasians to attempt to negotiate with these terrorists.”
“Our sources tell us that an ambassador for the Republic is heading to Falkasia as we speak, and should be meeting with the Falkasian authorities shortly to try to find a speedy resolution to this awful incident.”

The reporter finished his talking and wiped the sweat from his brow as the camera cut out.
“By God,” he said “I think this may be bigger than we think.”

The ambassador greeted Prime Minister Kazyenko with a smile that barely disguised the pure fear in his heart. He knew that the fate of his country, and Europe in general, now fell into his hands. If he didn’t sort this out soon there could quite possibly be international war.
“Well, I’m here.” stammered the fearful ambassador, adding a polite sir when he noted the disgruntled look in Kazyenko’s eyes. The Prime Minister led him into his office and gestured towards a seat, which the ambassador took, before sliding down into a tall chair himself. The Prime Minister sighed, a long drawn out sound, before turning to the ambassador to speak.

"As you know, we are in quite a predicament. Our current situation is very fragile, and the well-being of Europe hangs in the balance."
Kazyenko looked out of his office window, then glanced back towards the ambassador.
"For now, we have the terrorists contained inside the museum with a police blockade. The army has been dispatched as backup in case things get ugly. As for the citizens, martial law has been instated just in case there are anymore terrorists out there. What do you propose we do?"

“I thought,” said the ambassador, “that the Republic had made it’s affiliations quite clear. We will remain neutral, and we insist that for the sake of Europe you negotiate with these individuals. Perhaps they will be willing to compromise; maybe you could come to some terms. Paralisa will act as a medium between you and the revolutionaries if you wish.
Meanwhile, with your permission of course, the Republic would like to move a 100 man team of peacekeepers into the country in case it gets messy. As things progress we may move in more.
So do we have your permission? And will you negotiate with the terrorists?”

Kazyenko looked out the window again, this time looking towards the mountain range off in the distance as a few storm clouds moved in. The fate of Europe was in his hands, and whatever choice he made here would leave lasting effects on the world.

"You have our permission to move in your peace keepers. We'll need them up North where most of the fighting is, near the Ikov Military Base. I'll inform General Karasov of our situation. As for the terrorists, we will not negotiate with them. We will however, attempt to negotiate with them in an effort to buy us some time."

25-07-2008, 22:26
"Yes, there has been political unrest in the northern part of the country for years. Constant fighting between the factions, much like what happened in Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union. This terrorist attack has been a real eye opener for us. This is the first time one of the militant factions have attacked us directly, and right in our backyard too. They're radicals, zealots. They'll do anything to get their point across. As for the terrorists here, they are an isolated occurance, or so we hope. They are contained for the most part."

“Fighting these militants may not be good for us. I believe most of them are left-wing, correct? Well, so are the majority of Paralisa’s citizens. The ambassador smiled. Maybe now Paralisa would gain something from the Falkasia Crisis.

The troops disembarked in Falkasia with shocking speed, rushing ashore and setting up base in the north, as the Prime Minister of Falkasia had advised. At their head was Commander Stein, an experienced soldier known for his taciturn nature. Although he had been originally told that the peacekeepers were to remain neutral, the order had come through to engage the militants and to overcome all opposition. “Europe must be saved,” the Parilisian PM had told him “and you’re the man who’s going to save it.”

“Contact General Karasov,” barked Stein, “Tell him we’re marching towards the Ikov Base.”

The museum was surronded by barricades, police cars, and armed soldiers. No one would get in, and no one would get out, plain and simple. From atop a near by building, Sniper Team 6 laid in wait. They had been there for six hours with no rest or food, staking out the building.

While they had waited, the terrorists became more aggressive, taking random hostages to the front door at gun point and threatening to kill them. A negotiator had been let inside, but he hadn't come out, and there was no sign of him inside. Through their thermal imaging gear, the Sniper Team had confirmed 52 heat signatures, 40 of which had been deemed hostages. All around them were other teams with different vantage angles positioned on rooftops, waiting for the order to fire.

Commander Stein changed his mind halfway to the Ikov Base, instead deciding to head straight to the heart of the crisis at the museum. He plotted his route on the map provided to him by the Falkasians.
“It’s miles.” He said. “We could do with air support; we need to be parachuted in.”
He cursed the men who had planned the mission, he was miles away from anywhere useful and he was helpless on the ground. Before long it would be to late, and Europe would perish.

The situation at the museum had deteriorated rapidly. The terrorists had lined up the hostages against the windows to block any attempt at sniping them, as well as demanding food and water while refusing to negotiate with any one. It had gone from a hostage situation to a stand-off, with no ground being made on either side. If anything was to be done, it would need to happen soon.

The ambassador of the federation of EMC addresses the array of television cameras aimed at him.

"The government of EMC considers this terrorist assault to be a vicious and unprovoked attack on the government of Falkasia and as such strongly condemns the actions of the Falkasian Revolutionary army."

The ambassador pauses briefly and glances at the papers lying on the podium in front of him.

"As such, with the permission of the government of Falkasia we have placed a bio-chemical hazard containment squad on standby in Karasov City."

"We have not considered further action as of yet, we do however have time for a few questions."

One of the reporters in the front bench jumps immediatley from his seat and shouts above the general ruckus.
"Are the rumours that this so-called 'Hazard containment squad' are in fact special forces operatives true?"

The ambassador flashes a warning glance at the guards by the doors and replies quickly "That rumour is untrue, also I am afraid we are out of time now. There will be another announcement later today, once again thank you for your time."

Before anyone can ask any further questions the ambassador promptly turns and is escorted out of the conference hall flanked by several guards wearing polished black helmets.

The Parilisan Prime Minister shuffled through the papers on his desk, franticly trying to find any news about the Falkasia Crisis. On reflection, the events of the previous night were a little rushed; first Parilisa has ceased to be a neutral force and had allied with the Falkasians, and then he had allowed Commander Stein to use his instinct and change his route. Other countries were joining the crisis now, each realising the real threat t the World’s security.
He found a document headed “Commander Stein’s Report”. Scanning over it he saw that the 100 man peacekeeping taskforce had arrived safely at the Museum where most of the activity was taking place. The report stressed the danger to the hostages and painted a picture of a terrible stalemate. Stein now waited to consult the Falkasians, before being able to carry out any actions.

At the Museum….

Stein’s troops were exhausted; they had rushed over the country to get here on time carrying heavy equipment. As they got some rest the Commander checked the hostage situation, which was inevitably dire. The Parilisan ambassador, who had joined them sometime during the night, sat next to the huge soldier.
“What are we gong to do?” said the ambassador, nervously cleaning the lenses of his glasses.
“I don’t know. For the first time in my life I have no idea. If we go in there, all guns blazing, they’ll shoot the hostages. But if we don’t they could destroy Europe.”
“Perhaps we must consider that the value of these people’s lives is less than that of…”
“We can’t just let them die in there!” Interrupted the Commander.
“No Stein, but we must assess…is that the Falkasian leader over there?”
“Yeah,” said Stein, turning around to glance over, “I better go talk to him.”
Stein stood at strode over to where the Falkasian stood.

“So what we gonna do?” said Stein.

An excerpt from the Parilisan newspaper “The Republican Times”:

In the current political climate the Prime Minister has come under fire from some political groups for “betraying the ideals of the Republic”. As a 100 man team of Parilisan soldiers makes it’s way across the European nation of Falkasia, our reporter meets with the Prime Minister to discus the Falkasia Crisis.

The Republican Times: Prime Minister, do you have any regrets concerning your decision to become involved in the Crisis?
Prime Minister: Certainly not. Our troops are fighting for the defence of Europe, and I don’t think there can ever be any regret over that.
TRT: Certain left wing groups are criticising the actions of the Government. In a speech by the Socialist Party of Parilisa we are told that you have “betrayed the ideals of the Republic by supporting a foreign dictatorship rather than the Falkasian Revolutionary Army, whose aims are similar to that of the Republic.” How do you respond to that?
PM: I don’t think that at the current time political affiliations should become involved in this. We are not fighting to defend any philosophy; we are fighting to prevent a biological warhead from being launched at our country. If these so called political parties wish to be obliterated by these weapons of mass destruction then so be it, but I do not intend to risk the lives of Parilisan citizens.
TRT: How seriously is the Government taking the Revolutionary Army’s threat of launching the missiles?
PM: Very seriously. Although at this time there is no need for a mass panic we do believe that the FRA does have the necessary equipment and capability to launch the missiles. In fact there is every possibility that the missiles could be launched soon, unless we act fast…

We at Daiwiz understand your intent, and encourage it. You may be going about it the wrong way, but this is the only way you may know how. We shall be sending armed forces, and speacial operations units, to assist you in your attack. We would wish to know of the best way to place our troops into Falkasian territory, wether it be by sea, air or sneaking through other countries. We shall be sending forces of Ketsnaz, SAS troops, weapons for your forces, airborne forces, and airborne vehicles. We shall be sending small amounts of these forces, and shall land PanzerFaust 3Ts, M16s, AK47s, and XM312 Heavy MGs to supplement our current armaments. We wish you good luck.

To: The Prime Minister of Falkasia
From: The Prime Minister of Parilisa

I have been informed of the recent attack on the Ikov Military base, and I apologise. Had my men been in defence of the base as you had suggested then the forces of the Noble Law Office may not have attacked it. To compensate for this fatal mistake the Parilisan government requests permission to have around 500 men parachuted into the Ikov Base to defend it. Meanwhile I suggest that we storm the Museum, which I believe is still held by terrorists.

Yours Sincerely,
The PM of Parilisa

Following the fall of Ikov Military base strict quarantine actions have been placed on the populace of Karasov, we require your assistance in enforcing these regulations until the current crisis has passed.

We have reason to believe that the FRA plans to release the said biological weapon into the general populace should a hostile action be taken against them. These cautionary procedures will help to prevent further contamination should said weapon be activated.

Our most senior strategos are currently working on a PoA to terminate FRA's said ability of deploying the missile. Or at least delaying them while forces are gathered to combat the Noble Law office. Further to the deployment of the bio-containment squad, the EMC has deemed it necessary to install a few trained rifleman squads to assist in enforcing quarantine procedures. We hope we will have your assistance in this matter, it would be greatly appreciated and ease the pressure for more manpower on our already strained containment team.

They have all entrances covered, including the service ones. This was definiately an inside job. The was no way they could know all the entrances without looking at the blueprints." He looked back towards the building, seeing the hostages lined up against therwindows to prevent anybody from shooting inside. "It's in essence a stalemate, but since you're here, we hope we can put a basic plan into action."

OOC:wow. I get on and you post rofl. I'm back from karate. Will be parachuting troops in, if you have no problems with that. Might I land weapons on the roof of the museum to help the terrorists, with maybe a few troops? I'm asking because you have an airforce XD I'm exhausted, and brain dead, since I got no sleep, on account of my gut hurting from all the blood. I had a nose bleed yesterday where I would've bled less if I was on blood thinners. Litteraly a litre of it. I'll probably rewrite this to be much better tommorrow. Don't know if either of these tanks can be airdropped, and if they can't, the plane will just come in low and slow, using the two propelers for power. Could you tell me the limited number of troops? Also, if there are any problems, please let me know. Would you also let me know of how the terrain is in Falkasia, power plants, arms factories and any other high class targets.

IC: The forces that were to be chuted in were gearing up to move out. The tanks were being loaded onto the C-43s, along with a few hundred troops. The tanks were M60 Pattons, and M2A3 Bradleys. Included were many PanzeFaust 3Ts, AK47s, RPGs, M16s, XM312 Heavy machine guns, and FIM 92 Stingers. These were to be helidropped onto the museum, so as to assist the 'Slaughter Party'. There were many Ketsnaz, and SAS troops that were being dropped, and were to attempt to assist the terrorists however possible. A small tank group was to assist the troops from Serinite in controlling the military base, while half of the airborne troops were to use airdropped universal carriers to speed around the flank of the pro-Falkasian troops, and open fire. The rest would head to their respective targets, while the SAS were to gather civilians to form a resistance, and to hit any targets that looked worth their while. They hoped there would not be any problems in the plans, unlike in Juntastan.

OOC: I'm fine with however you deploy your troops. As for dropping equipment on the roof of the museum, that's not going to happen. The entire building is surronded by Police, SWAT, and Military Personnel, and has been designated a No Fly Zone. As for the tanks, you can land them anywhere away from the major cities on the map, as they have many tall buildings and AA cover. As for the Touch-and-Go drop-off, that's fine. However, a dual propeller plane could likely only hold a single Patton tank or Bradley. No massive airdrops please. As for the limited number of troops, I'd say anywhere in the range of 5-120, assuming they're not all Special Forces.

IC:
Falkasian Countryside, 8:03 AM:
It was early morning in the Falkasian countryside, but the local farms were already bustling with life. Farmers were plowing and harvesting fields, their wives were tending gardens or cooking, and their children were playing. All of whom were completely unaware of what was going on in the urban areas of Falkasia.

It was a typical morning for most, but that was about to change. From the east came sounds of roaring engines. As the sound drew ever nearer, C-43 Cargo Planes materialized out of the clouds. The farmers and their families ran outside, dropping their tools wand watching the planes as they flew by in awe.

Out of the back came dozens of black specks, each sprouting forth a parachute. Moments later, the sky was filled with them, almost blocking out the sun. The farmers, who were not used to military action, were scared witless and ran inside to lock everything down.

Falkasian Ministery of Citizen Affairs, 8:11:
The Ministry phone operators were swamped with calls coming in from the Falkasian countryside. Farmers, townsfolk, off-duty soldiers, all of whom were calling in reports of troops of unknown nationality dropping into Falkasian farmland. The overwhelmed operators relayed the message to the Falkasian Ministry of the Armed Forces, who in turn relayed it to the Prime Minister.

The base had been set on high-alert after the situation in Ekaterine, as well as the numerous reports of airborne troops wandering about in the Falkasian countryside. When gunfire erupted from the Southeast corner of the base, all the entire garrison scrambled to their battle positions. As they ran, a voice came over the intercom, barely understandable of the blaring of sirens. "Battlestations! Battlestations! All soldiers report to battlestations! Red Alert! Confirmed Tango Presence, Southeast Corner! Al lsoldiers report to Battlestations!"

As positions were taken and fortified throughout the base, soldiers on the southeastern edge were already under intense fire. The advantage though, was the fact that they held the high-ground.

OOC:My troops aren't there yet. That could be the advacned guard, and also if you remember, the C43 was the plane that you bought*can't spell* from me. It has 6 jet engines, and two propellers. The proppellers are meant for shorter take offs, and the touch and go landings. I'll just go with what you have though. Any problems with my advanced guard landed before this? If so I'll change the below message. If I do any GodModding, let me know, and I'll change it.

IC:As the paratroopers, and Ketsnaz began to prepare their gear for the jump, the pilots were bringing the planes out of the cloud cover. Quickly, the red light came, with the platoon sergeants yelling at the troops to go. As they jumped into the icy, roaring blast that was the sky, their white, and red parachutes began to sprout out like a butterflies wings. As they carefully maneuvered the parachutes to land in the feilds, they looked down at the populace that they had already disturbed. They had not been sent to land in these areas beleiving that there would be many pill boxes, but in fact they were civilian houses. The winds, and bad GPS readings had landed them 15 miles from their target drop zone. They would have a long walk ahead of them, and hoped the rest of the forces that would come later would have an easier time.
The path finders had landed almost thirty minutes before, and had already set up the beacons. Their next mission was to cause as much havoc as possible, until the main force regrouped. The were equipped with wire cutters, and harneses for climbing up phone poles, so as to cut the lines. They knew that if the Falkasians could not get any information, it would soon detierorate into complete chaos.
Two of the speacialty C-43s were beginning their drops, which were a mere two M60 Pattons, and four M2A3 Bradleys between them. Also included, were fifteen unviersal carriers, since they were to use speed, rather than force. They were not to fight unless they had no choice, but were merely to reinforce the Serinites, before continuing on to power stations. If they could destroy the stations, the country would be powerless, except for batteries, and this would greatly cause the military difficulties getting precious information.

OOC: Nope, don't mind. I'll pretty much go with whatever you do. I forgot that I boguht the C-43 from you. Well, I guess it came in handy now, lol. Batteries ftw, lol.

Yet, the snipers had anticipated this, and thus detached from the main force and ran left, breaking around the barrier that shaped the fort into a square. They circled around and attacked from behind, while the AK-47 men dived the same way, rolling and then setting their backs to the wall.

As the forces landed, the pathfinders had successfully clipped the phone lines in the area. The troops landed, and quickly began to roll up their chutes, and search for the tanks. The commander in cheif of this operation took out an encrypted cellphone, and began to dail in the number for the military cheifs.
"This is the CO of operation Falcon. We have landed successfuly, no hostiles. We are off course, and half the force is farther away. The bunkers were just farmhouses. Out" He flipped up the bottom, as he looked up to watch the last of the troops, and the heavy weapons crates drop.
Meanwhile, the troops that had been blown away landed in a mountainous area, that they quickly figured out was the opposite side of the Ikon military base. They were just close enough to hear the pitter patter of machine guns, and sudden claps of thunder as explosives went off. All but one of them was a private, and so they were without orders, for now. The sergeant quickly found a radio, and let the CO know of their positions, and request orders. They numbered a mere fifty, but included twenty Ketsnaz troopers, along with the Airborne soldiers. Becuase they missed the DZ, their heavy equipment like rocket launchers, had been dropped somewhere else, all except for a single crate. In that crate was ammunition, twenty PanzerFaust 3Ts, and five XM312 heavy machine guns. Their orders were then to move into assaulting positions, and to hold there until the rest of the force succeeded in reaching the area. Unfortunately, military command did not realize that it was mountainous terrain, and so the tanks would becom a liability. They would be moving in without tank support.

From atop an outpost on Mount Pire, the tallest peak in Falkasia, sentries were set on high-alert. Ikov was under attack, and they were to report in on any suspicious activities in the area. When they saw unidentifiable canopies open over the forest, they radioed Ikov for direction.

"Attention Ikov, this is Everett Station. We have confirmed visual reports of unknown canopy openings over the forest, nationality unknown. Please advise, over."

"We read you Everett. We have no operations going on in your area, but there may be some air force training going on. One hell of a time to train, I tell you! Let me check....... Get into the trees, set up the MGs in converging feilds of fire, and goddamnit, hold your fire until I give the order." Whispered the sergeant as he began to head back into the trees. They began to lay tripwires, wired to grenades, as they moved back, hoping that the booby traps would be of use.
Meanwhile, fifteen miles away, the other forces began to move out. All of the infantry were piled into either the carriers, or onto the tanks. The guns were being towed by the carriers, and they were making headway. They would reach the base within one hour, if all went according to plan.

Ikov Military Base
A small detachment of the base's garrison had be dispatched to investigate the sightings of parachutes. Driving out of the main gate in a convoy of 3 UAZ cars, 1 BMP-2 APC, and 2 URAL trucks, they approached the forest with great speed. Leaving the battle behind them, they sped through the winding dirt roads towards the Everett Station. Despite the fact terrorists had attacked Ekaterine and Ikov was being assaulted, it was an average drive through the wood. That all ended shortly after leaving the base. The lead UAZ exploded, catapulting the car and its passengers onto the side of the road. The entire convoy halted and took up defensive positions. They were not going down without a fight.

Falkasian Countryside:
Most of the farmers kept to themselves as the paratroopers advanced through the farmland, locking the doors and keeping a hunting rifle at hand. It was all generally quiet, as they moved towards the nearest power plant, of which was across the Falkasian Interstate I-12. here, they were greeted by a heavily dug-in detactment of the Falaksian 9th Mechanized Division.

OOC: The Mornes Disaster of 1982! Well, here goes. Mornes is the capital city of Porinn, and to put it simply, back in '82 terrorists attacked several public transit systems including subways, buses, trains etc with a VX nerve gas agent, killing 829 civilians and 24 law enforcement officers.

I have split up the force, with one on each side of the road, aimed towards the tripwired area. How about we finish the battle between my miss dropped force, and then leave it for the night. We could start up the shop, if you want. It's just that we probably shouldn't do anything when only half of us are here.

IC:As the lead UAZ went up in a great fireball, the Falkasian troops began to pile out. The troops had anticipated this, and quickly began to set off the remote explosives that they had on hand. They were hidden in the dense jungle holding fire, and their breaths. Once the explosives went off, the sergeant gave the order. Quickly, the XM312 machine guns let loose with a hail of bullets, catching the troops in a crossfire. The Ketsnaz had climbed up trees, and began to fire their G36s on full auto, spraying the Falksians. The rest of the troops began to let loose with their small arms, while an anti tank squad snuck towards the trucks. They were to let loose the two PanzerFaust rockets onto the enemies position, and then use their small arms. They hoped they'd be able to commandeer the vehicles, but it appeared that it would be quite unlikely.

Ten miles away, a lone little civilian car had been taken to work as an advanced scout. The single squad had borrowed some clothes from a washing line, and were sent ahead. They were to make sure that the main force didn't get ambushed, or cut off.

IC: The Hercules tore through the sky, the sound of its engines roaring, the inside of the cargo hold rattled, shaking the 60 or so troops and their vehicles, including 8 HUMVEEs, and two Armed Personnel Carriers. Major Briggs held his Scoped Lee-Enfield rifle in his hands tightly, wrapping his arms around it, he had once again been put in charge of a rag-tag group of all the throwbacks in the Porinnian military that called themselves a 'task-force'. "Just nine more days" he mumbled, "Nine more days until all I have to do is sit at a desk and sort papers.". The plane slowly came to a rough landing on a long patch of field in the middle of the Ekaterine Countryside. There was a loud clunk as the HUMVEEs and the APCs were released, and the cargo bay doors opened, the men piled out, nervously. They began to organise themselves into lines of 10, and the Major stepped forward. "Right, the objective, just to refresh your memory, is to cut off the retreats of these reported 'paratroopers', A Platoon, you'll head out north, B Platoon, you'll head out north-west, you will both be accompanied by a fire support team of 5 men each. Move slowly, we don't want to miss any hidden groups of enemies. Suit yourself to the terrain, we're heading out.", and with that, the cargo bay doors closed, leaving the vehicles and the infantry in the countryside, the Platoons entered their vehicles, and drove off in two different directions, kicking a thick dust up into the air.
"Hey, Sarge!" shouted a young, loud-mouthed Private to the Sergeant of B-Platoon, "I heard you snapped a guy's neck back in the Revolution, and used his arms to take down a group o' Revolutionaries! That true?" asked the Private, eagerly. "What?! Where do you scrubs hear this shit? That's a load of crap. Was it Jonesy? HEY! JONESY! YOU BEEN FEEDING THE SCRUBS LIES AGAIN!?", a muffled laughing was heard from the direction of Corporal Jones, "Heh...Mheh...N-No...AHAHAHAHAH!!", he burst out into ecstatic laughter, failing to hold himself back, his face went completely red. "Goddamnit Jonesy, stop tellin' the rookies this shit!". Sarge snorted a mass of dust up his nostrils, and began coughing involuntary, "Fuckin' Jonesy...".

They were to fly around the advancing paratroopers, and make certain that they didn't get outflanked.

Port Kamov:
Admiral Iskev was in the bridge of the FNS Kazyenko, looking out across the placid waters, when an assistant approached him.

"Um, sir. You might want to have a look at this."

"Yes, what?" Iskev said, looking away and at a piece of paper in the assistant's hand. It was a RADAR cross-section printout.

"We've got reports that Daiwiz has moved a carrier into Falkasian waters. They are apparently escallanting the war. What should we do?"

The admiral looked out across the waters for a moment. He knew very well that the simple terrorist attack had played out just like Chaos theory had said it would. One little action causes somewhere huge consequences in another place. That other place was Falkasia today.

"Ok... here's what I'm gonna do. I want you to inform the Prime about our current situation, and request a conference with Daiwiz's leader. I want the carrier out of Falkasian waters. If they refuse, we'll blow it out of the water for them."

"Yes sir!" the assistant snapped, leaving quickly as the Admiral returned to staring out over the harbor.

Falkasian Interstate I-12:
The entrenced soldiers of the 9th Mechanized had been searching every vehicle that had passed, or had wanted to pass through the blockade, making sure that none harbored any traces of weapons or terrorists. It had been a boring, uneventful morning searching the cars for invisible enemies, but they knew that even the most minute task has some bearing on the rest of the country. When the group was approached by a typical civilian car later that morning, they thought nothing of it. Just another passer-by. However, when it suddenly and apparently withouty reason whipped around in a U-turn, the soldiers instantly were suspicious. They sctrambled 3 BMP-1s to chase the car, as well as radioed in for Far Support.

"Attention Ekaterine ATC, this is Interstate 12 Roadblock. We have confirmation of a suspicious target and request air support for tracking purposes. Please advise."

A few moments passed, followed by the crackle of static.

"Roger that I-12 Roadblock. Air support is en-route."

Perhaps we should finish the ambush, and Ikon base attack before goig into anything else. I just wanted to have some air support, so that I could learn about the flanking from Porinn. Also, we are getting ganged up on lulz. Other than the ambush, I haven't attacked you yet rofl. Any problems with my having a navy nearby? To those that don't know, the C-43 has the average two engines on each wing, and engine on the underbelly, an engine on the tail, and two proppelers on the wings. I was bored, and in a crazy mood. It's a flying mule basically. I wouldn't mind joining the embassy.

IC:The Harriers began to lift off, with a woosh from the catapult. Steam drifted about from the backwash in thick clouds, covering sunglasses of the deck crew. The C-43 lumbered into position for launch, as if it was a flying behemoth. Ivan got the thumbs up from the catapult engineers, and so began to start up all eight engines. It neither jumped nor leaped into the air, but more was tossed into the spray and mist. It began to make a slow, and difficult climb to the sky, for this type of takeoff was the norm. The Harriers took up flanking positions, and they quickly climbed to 3,000 feet, and kep climbing.
"This is Spy bird one, ascending to angels, 3 9er. Over" Calmly spoke the radio operator into his mike, letting the carrier know of their current progress, and destination. From here on in, they were to maintain strict radio silence, for fear of the Falkasians picking up the signals. The three planes began to make their way to the coast, unknown of what awaited them.
As the planes were making their way, the main force continued it's quick march. They had come across little to no resistance so far, mostly made up of angry farmers with hunting rifles, and pitchforks. What they were most worried about at this point, was that the wives may give them a talking to. That is, until the advanced scouting party returned.
"Sir! We have heavily entrenched mechanized infantry, about four miles up!" Cried out , as the car reached the command Bradley.
"All right then. I was wondering when they would put up some resistance. Let the rest of the forces know, we are going to have to fight to get to their powerplant. Also, send out a team of the SAS, and set up the artillery peices as soon as we are in range. We are going to need those shells." Said the CO.

OOC:aawww. ok then. Good morning aswell. iv been waiting four hours cause my caat woke me! And yes, thats exactly what I want them to do. Maybe a little extra cash to boot.

OOC: Yea, let's finish the Ikov Ambush. It's Ikov, not Ikon.

Ikov Forest:
IC: All around the Falkasian, the trees seemed to explode with gun fire. They had fallen into an ambush, and were being decimated. As the soldiers poured out from their vehicles, the URALs in the rear exploded from recoiless shells, sending metal and other sharp fragments throughout the convoy and into the trees. The soldiers who hadn't been injured scurried into the nearby foliage of the forest for cover. The lone BMP began to reverse, peppering the trees with it's 73mm cannon and coaxial machinegun.

Casualties:
12 Dead
23 Wounded
2 URAL Trucks destroyed
1 UAZ destroyed
2 UAZs abandoned

OOC:i posted before you edited, sorry. Now How well trained are your guys anyways? Bottom of the barrel, or elite here? Depending on such I'll alter casualties. Also, my casualties may not be the greatest since we caught you by surprise and were able to hose you down with bullets, as well as explosives.

IC: As the Falkasian platoon began to offload, the troopers were taking cover from the 73mm cannon. Trees seemed to explode from the shells, and the night came alive with gun shots, and muzzle blasts. The explosions created a permanent day, with the smell of codite from the grenade hanging in the air like a dangerous mist. The paratroopers began firing their weapons wildly, for the Falkasians had drifted like ghosts into the forest. The anti-tank squad was reseting for a shot on the last APC, for if it got away, they would be found out. Their plan would be ruined.
The heavy machine guns opened up, spraying the trees. Smoke, and wood chips were flying all over. Occasionaly the thunk thunk thunk of bullets hitting trees would change. The Falkasians were being decimated, but the paratroopers were showing their inexperience by occasionaly changing positions, and attacking, instead of staying on the defensive.
High up in the trees, the Ketsnaz began to open fire on their prey below, and in front of them. They had been given the light machine guns, and half of the PanzerFausts. A single Ketsnaz realized that if he did not take out the APC now, the attack may fail. He scrambled out of the tree once it was below him, landing on the top of it. He pulled a grenade out of his belt, and quickly went prone on the vehicle. He pulled the pin, counted to two, opened the hatch, and tossed it in.

He pulled a grenade out of his belt, and quickly went prone on the vehicle. He pulled the pin, counted to two, opened the hatch, and tossed it in.

The grenade dropped into the BMP's crew compartment, but came flying out a moment later by its extra vigiliant crew. This was followed by an AKS-74 Carbine, blind firing all over the BMP to try and cleanse it of any enemies.

The Falkasian soldiers had managed to set up a relatively weak defensive position, comprised of mostly downed trees and rocks arranged into a "foxhole"-like shape. Covering this position from all sides were PKM LMGs, lined up next to each other in a circle. Closer to the middle were the soldiers and any wounded they had saved.

If anyone tried to charge the position, or even attempt to grenade it, tehy would have been cut down before they were even in range. As for the soldiers in the middle, they were using a few captured PanzerFausts from the dead Ketsnaz to shoot down the trees, as well as peppering the road in front of them with 7.62 rounds of hell.

The Platoon sergeant, Alexei Vornok, was busy on his radio in the center of the "foxhole" calling for air support.

"This is Alpha Company, 2nd platoon! We are pinned down outside Ikov! Requesting close air support, Over!"

OOC:lulz. I haven't dropped any panzerfausts yet. 1 was blown to hell, and the other two were fired. The soldier that tried to take it over, is now dead lulz. Also I was only like 10 meters ahead of the lead truck. Shoulda specified that. Oh wells. The Ketsnaz are equipped with silencers, that also help as the muzzle guards (reduces the muzzle blast) and they are high up in the trees behind you. I probably have to go now, since people who are my aunts friends just showed up randoly, saying she invited them for a swim lulz. I'll stay for now. They may have the wrong house, since I don't recognize the name Sophia, or Rob.

IC: As the fighting began to die down, the Ketsnaz continued their sniping, and machinegunning. One anti-tank Ketsnaz noticed the BMP below him, and so unshouldered his recoilless gun, as fast as he could. He quickly pulled the trigger, letting the rocket go with the smell of cordite, and a loud FWOOMP as the charge flew.
The other troopers were doing just as well, despite the fact that most were quite green. The Machine guns had only stopped their hail of bullets for mere seconds to change out barrels, and ammunition. The battle had only been raging for two minutes, and already it was obvious that the Falkasians had lost.

"This is Alpha Company, 2nd platoon! We are pinned down outside Ikov. Requesting close air support, over!"

"Roger that 2nd Platoon, we'll scramble a MiG to your location. ETA 5 minutes. Paint your targets, over!"
