Well, me and another experienced Earth RPer, interesting in resurrecting some interest in an “alternative Second World War and tension filled prelude” have jumped a board and creating a forum very imaginatively titled Earth 1936 (http://z4.invisionfree.com/earth1936/index.php?act=idx).

Your purpose is to RP a nation of 1936, in the era of tension that lead to WW2. Your nation must be initially like that of it’s era, the same ruler and conforming to a level of realism in both military and political terms. However, both your RPing, and random events the admins will throw at both nations and the world can change that stance. Want to be fascist Greek? Perhaps you can RP a revolution and join the Axis, or perhaps the mods will throw an event at you in the International Events forum. Currently, only France and UK are in the Allies and Nazi Germany and Italy in the Axis.

The registration process is simple, and currently it is a simple fact of claiming nations, creating a factbook and gathering stats, and perhaps a bit of light diplomacy, before the main RPing begins. Oh, and hopefully the forum skin will be changed shortly soon, as I personally don’t like the default Invision offering. Major nations are still open, with swarms of China including the Communists, Mexico, Argentina, Romania, Canada, Australia, Greece, Yugoslavia, Hungary and others waiting to be claimed!

Also, we would appreciate it anyone of NationStates knows good sites for military stats of that era. We have some for the more major nations, though even some nations which played a big part in that era and the upcoming war are hard to find sites on in a simple google search (well, for me anyway), so if anyone has any tips it would be very much welcomed!

same here!!! It's because I just got back from a theater camp. And I donated a litre of blood from my nose, unwillingly.

Romania is free, though France and Hungary are not.

Romania was a vital nation in the war, and has some really incredible internal RP opportunities. I encourage you to sign up as Romania.

Bump. The map thread >> http://z4.invisionfree.com/earth1936/index.php?showtopic=3 gives an indication of whats claimed. You can also claim any colony, like say India, and though under British rule, you RP your internal affairs and can overthrow the oppressors (a fun thing to do).

Romania has not. However, Nazi Germany is a...iffy one. He's not being quite evil or active enough for our taste, so hold your breath and it may be open.

I think I've RPed with you on earths before and your good, so if it does come up, yes, you can have the Nazi's. Post that on the forums "Claims Thread" however to confirm your 'reservation'. However, Nazi's may not come up if Greal goes a tad more evil and active, though facist nations such as Hungary and Austria are aviable, and the biggest in Europe free are the Romanian's and Poland.

Also, the USSR may be open soon.

Quite a few nations are OPEN, we reset. I am Liberia. South Africa and Ethiopia are open. I think Republican and Nationalist Spain are open. We have no Swiss, Danish, Swedish, Polish, Finnish, Lithuanian, or Ukrainian nations.

All of South America is open.

There is no Indian independence movement, no Congo revolution, no Korean resistance.

There is neither a Communist nor a Capitalist China in this game.

We have no New Zealand, no Tibet, no Nepal. No Afghanistan, no Persia, no Vatican, no San Marino.

Monaco and Mongolia still are free too.

There is a lot to pick from.

I'd join if Turkey was open. The remaining countries that are open I don't know much about their time during WWII. Well, except for the netherlands, I know that got raped. And I might be inactive for a while.

Dear god it would be interesting if Turkey helped the greek communist party, and ended up as a soviet satellite. Well, the WWII era wouldn't be that much different but the korean and cold war era would be if Turkey sided with the russians.

I'll give this a bump. I believe we could use a Republican Spain and a Communist China, among others.

Here's another bump. Many important countries are still open such as Republican Spain, Poland, Finland, Czechoslovakia, Communist China, South Africa, all of the Latin American countries except for Nicaragua. You could even be a Chinese warlord if you wanted. So join, otherwise you might miss out on Nicaragua deporting 150,000 of its citizens to China;).

The Soviet Union is now open. Don't miss out.
