The Emirate of Sultenia has high hopes for a new ambitious project and hopes several nations will join in, in this new international effort.

The project is a space project, highly unexpected for this relativley new nation, although the rapid increase of economy has made this country determined to put themselves on the map.
Not for military purpose though, but a mixture of civilian science and tourism. A space station, not only for scientists but also for civilians interested in looking down upon the earth.

Interview

Vogel Ravenholdt, primeminister of Sultenia
"Of course at this stage only the blueprints have been made and currently calculations are underway to determine what is needed to make this a reality in terms of funds and material. The question right now is not really what it will cost but rather how long it will take before this station is in orbit."

Interviewer
"How do you plan to fund this? Wont this project cost a lot of money and..."

PM
"I'm sorry but i have to interrupt you right here, money is not an issue, our country is determined and we will put all funds we can on this project, our nations funds are at present grown bigger than our nations needs thanks to recent legislations and policys, international corporations are throwing money into our nation. A strong, emergency fund is already complete in case our nation should ever suffer an economic crisis.
I'm really sorry to interrupt you like this but this is part of why we started the project."

Interview
"No offense taken, but why did you start the project, is it just because you don't know what to do with your nations funds?"

PM
"Actually we would have started this project anyway, only without our current funds it would take longer and we would have to depend on international funds more.
The thing is, scientists around the globe are itching for the next grand challange and are surprisingly often stopped or hindered beacuse of the lack of funds. What puzzels us is that in times of war, scientists are presented with limitless funds and recourses, just look at the nuclear weapon, or the computer or the first space programs, all made in times of war or fear of a war.
No more we say, we have the technology and the brains and brawns to create this we only need the enthusiasm and that bottomless moneypit in normal cases reserved for war."

Interviewer
"How much do you depend on international funds then?"

PM
"Around 15% of our projects funds are currently raised from international companies, this is made pureley from donations and advertising. But this figure will increase after this press statement we hope."

Interviewer
"When do you expect this project to be complete?"

PM
"It all depends on how eager the world is. We hope scientests from around the globe will flock to this new challange and that nations will be excited in this new project. Right now we are looking at a seven year time table but if nations are eager enough we can put this station in orbit within a year.
This is not "distant future" ideas or "what if" theory, all the pieces are there, they just need to be assembled."

The Emirate of Sultenia places hopes in the international community but show themselves no lack of will to make this ambitious project a reality.
Within the week the newly established SPP "Sultenian Space Program" hopes to have numerous new employees.

TO: Sultenia PM
FROM: Imperial Kingdom of Lynion, King Ranakin

I admire your courage and I hope you will finish the project. The Kingdom of Lynion is willing to lend you the shuttles and equipment to get you into outspace as we too have setup an orbital system to protect us and study our world. If you need a place for your workers to stay in space, the orbital system can be used but there are some parts of the system that are restircted to military personal.
