Just one thing...
They wear heavy plate armour over lighter chainmail armour
Chainmail would only be necessary for parts of the body not covered by the plate, so it depends on what type of plate you are using. If you're using stuff from the late 15th century then you only need leggings and something for the inside of the arms.

Here's some info on the demons...
Tartarus
It's name means, "Land of eternal darkness" in the ancient demonic language. Tartarus is the largest demon controled territory in the known world. It is an absolute monarchy, ruled by the evil Beelzebub.
Beelzebub
Beelzebub is the lord of Tartarus. He descendet from Lord Lucifer, who was the first lord of Tartarus. Beelzebub was the person who gave Tartarus it's name, and he plans to expandit as much as possible in the future.
Salpsan
He is the son of Beelzebub and a human woman, who died at Salpsan's birth. Beelzebub raised him, to become a great military leader. Salpsan is the lord of the southern human settlement in Tartarus and the heir to Tartarus's throne.
Military
Tartarus has compulsory military serivce. Although not very skilled with wepons, the demons are strong soilders. On the front lines, fight human slaves from the human settlements within Tartarus. The army is lead by the vampire, Natalya, who is the sister of Beelzebub's werewolf bodyguard, Luxian.
Slavery
All humans who live within the borders of Tartarus are forced into slavery. Those who can fight, are put on the front lines in battle. Those who aren't fit for battle, are workers.
Allience with the orcs
Some time ago, Beelzebub sent his son, Salpsan, and his bodyguard, Luxian. To forge an allience with the orcs, against the elves. The orc cheiftain, Gerlok, accepted Beelzebub's proposal, with one condition. Salpsan and Luxian had to kill Gerlok's enimy. They did so, and the orcs and Tartarus have been allies ever since.
