The Tribal Chiefdom has had much interaction over the years with the once honourable nation of Zanski during Vetaka’s infancy the Vetakan Defence Forces along with Allied Forces from around the world
Participated in the coalition assembled to protect the civilians of Zanski from oppression at the hands
Of their own government and the unwarranted aggression from the nation of New Nickslyvania.

In the aftermath of the war and through a carefully moulded and United Federation of Allied Nations (UFAN) administered support and aid program the Zanskian Nation began to prosper. It may have been occupied by both Nick and UFAN forces within their relevant zones but on the whole back then the nation of Zanski was safe, secure and developing.

However the leaders of Zanski became decadent, corrupt and aggressive towards the United Federation whom wanted nothing more than to help protect and support. The leadership of Zanski became back then and has become now a unstable and aggressive one. It has proceeded to launch continued attacks upon its own people in a desperate move to distract the majority from the nations collapsing economy, its spiralling unemployment and its pathetic political leadership.

Since the United Federation of Allied Nations withdrawal from the Zanskian Nation it has continued to collapse and destroy itself. In order to best protect Vetaka, Vetakan Assets and Interests, Vetakan Allied Powers and general political international order Vetakan Security and Intelligence Service (VSIS) has continued to monitor the nation of Zanski and its activities domestically and around the world as such we are fully aware of the current situation within the nation.

As such in order to make our disgust and protest known to the nation of Zanski and the international community it has been decided by the Tribal Council of Vetaka to formally impose a considerable number of sanctions upon the nation of Zanski and its interests:

-The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka hereby imposes a total trade and aid embargo upon the nation of Zanski, Vetaka will not allow any ship or plane access to Vetaka or its strategic assets around the world if the boat or aircraft is bound for Zanski.

-The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka hereby revokes all rights and licenses to any Vetakan registered transport company that maintains any Zanski Operations.

-The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka shall actively use its position and influence to call upon all nations to impose and invoke further sanctions upon the nation of Zanski.

-The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka shall no longer recgonise the current poltical leadership of Zanski as such Vetaka shall have no further communication with the current political leadership.

-The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka via the Vetakan Defence Forces (VDF) shall impose a total Air and Sea blockade upon Zanski for a period of 1 week. This blockade will allow any plane or boat to enter and leave Zanski if the aircraft or vessel is registered to any member of the international community as the Vetakan dispute with Zanski and Zanski alone. However this subsequent blockade shall not allow any aircraft or vessel registered to Zanski or of Zanski national origin to enter or leave Zanski within the 7 day period.

The Vetakan Defence Forces are an extremely confident and capable military force equipped with the latest and most effective equipment available. The Vetakan Defence Forces are a well trained, well respected and honourable battle force as such the Vetakan Defence Forces will use any force required to uphold this blockade, the VDF shall render whatever assistance is required to any civilian vessel that is subsequently caught within the blockade ultimately the Vetakan Military blockade of Zanski shall in no way needlessly jeopardise civilian life.


The Tribal Chiefdom of Vetaka urges any and all nations to support these proposed sanctions upon the nation of Zanski. Together and United the International Community has the power to influence and change the current situation without the need to resort to a total invasion and occupation of Zanski.

We have been watching the Zanskian backslide into Communism for some time now from afar, and now is our chance to actually do something about it. To this end, the Free Republic is now placing full economic sanctions upon Zanski, allowing only food and medical supplies to be sent to that nation. Any and all possible Lamonian merchant traffic bound for Zanski has been ordered to return to Lamoni.

We are also offering up Lamonian naval bases as ports of call for the naval forces involved in the blockade for as long as it may last. We are also willing to host talks between Vetaka, Pan-Arab Barronia, and ourselves. The nature of these talks are to jointly discuss any future reaction to the Zanski regime's actions. We will also be willing to include other nation's that support the sanctions and blockade of Zanski to the talks.

It has come to our attention that during the past few weeks a state of unrest and opposition exists between the nation of Vetaka and the communist regime of Zanski. It is not our intent or for that matter responsibility to comment on the state of affairs between the two nations that led to this would be international crisis, but we would like to remember the Zanski government of the Tribal Chiefdom membership in the Delian League and of all the implications such a membership bears in the unlikely and undesirable event of aggression against Vetakan ships or personnel by representatives of the communist regime. Furthermore the same warning can be extended in regards to any and all Lamonian shipping as any hostilities initiated against Lamoni will be badly perceived by the League and will solicit a military response from the entirety of its assets.

We would also like to express our concern in regards to the instability that seems to reign in Zanski and announce our support for the Lamonian initiative in hopes that the Zanski officials will reach an agreement with the nations that support this initiative. In order to insure that the situation does not escalate any further and as proof of our intentions, multiple League battle groups will be relocated to support the Vetakan naval presence in the area.

The Greater Economic Union wishes to make its full support for the Vetakan government clear and unambiguous.

The Denomination of Foreign Diplomacy plans to publish a Class I travel advisory for the nation of Zanski within the next day, mandating that citizens of the Union may not travel to Zanski, nor may Manthian-flagged vessels call on Zanskian ports. Furthermore, under the authority of Presidential Order no. 90854, foreign vessels which have in violation of the declared blockade sailed from Zanskian ports, or vessels en route to Zanski with stops in other ports of call along their route will be denied entrance to Manthian territorial waters and ports, and the Union Navy reserves the option of seizing any vessels which attempt to violate this prohibition.

In addition, the Union Navy stands ready to defend the Vetakan blockade if such proves necessary, and this government fully supports the recent statement of the Delian League. We would like to take this opportunity to express the hope on behalf of the Union Government that the Zanskian government will not attempt to break the blockade and such defensive measures will not prove necessary.

Vetakan Defence Force Naval Ship (VDFNS) Enterprise, Flagship of the 2rd Vetakan Defence Force Joint Battle-Group, 150 Nautical Miles From Zanski, Atlantic Ocean:

The 2rd Battle-Group had been informed and briefed on its mission to Zanski 3 weeks prior to the Tribal Councils "Open Communication" the Vetakan Sanctions upon Zanski where more a symbolic act of protest as opposed to a real desire to be drawn into a costly and probably pointless conflict with the third world nation that was Zanski. Political commentators across Vetaka had compared the current Zanski political leadership to a bunch of spoilt upper class bullies as opposed to an effective government. Successive Zanski "Leaders" where simply people whom seized power, genocide the people and where eventually removed by another crazed whack-job whom simply completed the circle. These so called Zanski leaders never seemed to quite grasp the ideology of simple conversation let alone diplomacy and tact. As a result Zanski was a nation that had no real Allies or Trading Partners it was a nation that seemed to simply drift through time going from one violent regime to another. Whilst the Vetakans would yield any aid they could to the Zanski civilians the Tribal Council simply could not and would not actively support or fund a political leadership that butchered its own people and in forced its political ideology upon them in the name of the “state“.

The VDFNS Enterprise was the last of Vetaka's Nexus Class Hyper Carriers that where still in active service these massive vessels whilst effective in their operation where simply to large. With the Vetakan Defence Forces intending to increase its capacity on the high seas Vetaka needed more smaller carriers operating in small carrier strike groups as opposed to large strategic carriers operating in "total battle-group" fleet formations. The second battle-group was in the command of the extremely capable Supreme Admiral Katie Contona a veteran of the Vetakan Navy a women whom had participated in just about every major operation that the Vetakan Navy had been apart of. The Admirals orders where clear her mission was to deploy to Zanski and split the Fleet into more small tactical fleets that would take up 4 Strategic positions around Zanski from their the fleets air compliment would mount a 24/7 air patrol mounting engagements against any Zanskian Cargo Plane that attempted to leave or the Zanskian Military if they mounted
subsequent resistance. Any civilian airliner that attempted to leave would be instructed to return to the nation but would ultimately not be fired on however it maybe seized when outside of the nation but that would be a decision for command to make as and when the time arrived.

The large fleet would remain mounting the blockade for just one week this was mainly to show the arrogance of the Zanski leadership that they where opposed furthermore it would allow Vetakan Security and Intelligence Service (VSIS) the chance to secure vital intelligence on the state of the Zanskian Military and its tactical Ideology in response to a blockade. Furthermore the blockade would allow the procurement of vital intelligence should it be decided that Vetaka was to mount further blockades, air assaults,
special forces operations and if required a full scale offensive operation against Zanski. The Operations Room of the massive carrier was a hive of activity as intelligence proceeded to stream into the room regarding Zanski and her navy.

Admiral Contona gazed around at her various military advisers one from each Force that made up the Vetakan Defence Forces where present, she smiled and spoke her voice soft:

"How long until out arrival?"

"We will arrive by nightfall and out fleet should be fully deployed and operational by dawn" spoke Rear Admiral Davy Obleik.

"The Air Patrol will be operational as soon as we arrive on scene the aircraft are ready and my guys are in a position to deploy at any time" spoke Air Marshal Naz Rafiq.

The Admiral nodded and was about to speak when suddenly klaxons proceeded to scream and the operations lights started to pulsate at amber, As they did so a PA burst into life:

"All Hands, Amber Alert, General Quarters. Admiral to the Bridge."

With that the Admiral rose to her feet and moved at pace to the bridge, as she entered the bridge she barked swiftly:

"Report?"

The XO looked up from the nearby radar station and spoke:

"Ma'am we have seven inbound Zanski aircraft on vector 280 closing fast ETA 6 Minutes, they are Nimrods we have OBSAT Confirmation"

As the young XO spoke he pointed to a nearby wall mounted HD screen which flickered to show a live OBSAT Spy Sat image of seven nimrod aircraft approaching in formation the Admiral gazed at it before speaking her voice now one of authority and command:

"General Quarters scramble intercept fighters, Lock them up, Open Communication"

After a number of "Aye Aye's" from across the bridge the Admiral picked up a microphone and proceeded to speak:

"Attention Zanskian Nimrod Planes this is Supreme Admiral Katie Contona alter course to Vector 235 to avoid Vetakan Fleet failure to do so and we may have to respond with force"

With this order the fleet began to tense as the order filtered down to the other ships whom proceeded to track the Nimrod Planes as they approached the fleet various vessels received instructions to prepare to fire as a result weapons were readied and missiles were loaded. All these ships awaited was the order and the "go codes" from the Flagship and thus the Admiral. On the flight deck of the Enterprise a total of 4 FA-15 carrier prepped Fighters armed with Air to Air Missiles where given the green light as such they roared off the carrier via its various catapults ascending to a more desired altitude they formed into an attack formation and sped towards the approaching Nimrods.

The Tribal Council has today confirmed that further to its open communication in relation to the declaration of sanctions including a Naval Blockade upon the nation Zanski the Vetakan Defence Force 2rd Joint Battle-Group which is a mere 200 Nautical Miles from Zanski at the time of print has been tasked with executing a blockade. A spokesperson for the Tribal Council admitted that the 2rd Battle-Group had been briefed and dispatched to the area some 3 weeks ago in anticipation of the Councils intent to blockade Zanski. The blockade which is part of a now growing international desire to influence Zanski political policy and rhetoric is to be a organised by a Allied Administration but will be effectively spearheaded by the Vetakan Defence Forces.

With an increasingly volatile and aggressive Zanskian Government presence and action towards the Zanskian people many political commentators feel that Vetakan Sanctions could be just the first in a potential series of Vetakan and potentially international action aimed at swaying the Zanskian Government from its current action. A spokesperson from the Vetakan Foreign Affairs Directorate confirmed that Vetaka was now in active dialogue with the nations of Pan-Arab Barronia and Lamoni to further co-ordinate Allied action furthermore whilst exact details where unavailable the spokesperson confirmed that the Foreign Directorate was now in conference with further nations that may potentially support sanctions and blockade.

Comment regarding the Vetakan Naval Blockades specific operational mandate was avaiable from the Vetakan Defence Force Supreme High Command a spokesperson confirmed that if the Zanskian Military intended to break the blockade the Vetakan Naval Defence Forces would repel such attempts and use required defensive force to protect and promote the blockade.

For many years the Vetakan Nation during its democratic and republican years along with Allied Nations around the world did what they could for Zanski during its Civil War and the resulting civil unrest aftermath. Many Vetakans gave their lives in defence of Zanski from the tyranny and oppression of New Nickslyannia. For many years Vetaka through the United Federation of Allied Nations sunk Billions if not Trillions of Universal State Dollars into Zanski via a massive and progressive aid package. Financial Aid that Vetaka never intended to recover, aid that successive Zanskian Administrations have wasted and squandered on numerous programs that have done nothing but cause death and destruction upon the Zanskian Populace.

Vetaka is and always has been an honourable nation a Vetakan will always intend to seek and execute a peaceful, diplomatic and fully acceptable compromise. For years successive Vetakan Governments have attempted to peacefully and diplomatically influence Zanski into moving away from its successive extremist political governments that have used a reign of terror upon its people. This blockade is quite simply an escalation of such attempts by Vetaka to influence Zanski into choosing domestic peace and harmony over terror and fear. This blockade shall only isolate the Zanskian economy any vessel registered to any other nation besides Zanski and identified Zanskian Allies shall be granted full unrestricted access to Zanski.

This blockade will allow food and medical supplies into Zanski without restriction or delay. However it will halt any Zanskian or Zanskian allied ship or plane from entering or leaving the nation this blockade shall remain in place for seven days as a show of force towards the Zanskian Government. After the seven days have past the Tribal Council shall re evaluate its position on the issue and take what further action if such action is required. The Tribal Council wishes to make it clear to all nations whom currently hold an opposition to this blockade that Vetaka is an honourable nation and all subsequent protests shall be noted, taken into consideration and respected. The Tribal Council furthermore wishes to inform such opposition that ultimately Vetaka has never and will never cause harm to innocent civilians including the Zanskian Populace.

After receiving confirmation via various Vetakan Security and Intelligence Service (VSIS) operatives from within the nation of Zanski the Honoured Chieftain Quicksilver and his Tribal Council are extremely concerned or the civil stability of the Zanskian nation with the seemingly pointless resignation of Kalé Saluh. It is the view of Honoured Chieftain Quicksilver and his Tribal Council that this resignation is nothing more than a extreme political manoeuvre that will allow the Zanskian Government and the so called “Totalitarian Council” to declare a state of unrest and subsequently employ the old and the traditional Zanski way of security and stability via death, destruction, oppression, tyranny and the classic reign of terror. As such Vetaka as previously stated fully wishes to support Zanski and its population in forming a strong, socially progressive, ethically led, honourable administration capable of effective leadership and provision of security. Further to this Honoured Chieftain Quicksilver and his Tribal Council wishes to inform all parties that it is the intent of Vetaka to present Zanski with the following “3 point plan to capable governance“:

Point 1:

An urgent and immediate Zanski controlled, internationally monitored provisional election take place with the intent to secure a President and Cabinet capable of making decisions on national issues.

Point 2:

The new provisional administration led by the Interim President elected to office for a maximum of 16 weeks drafts a new constitution and fair set of laws.

Point 3:

The new constitution and laws are ratified by the people with election of a new or re-election of the interim President, Cabinet and if deemed required Senate.

If the current Zanskian “Administration” in what ever form it current exists employs and executes this plan Vetaka shall provide whatever aid and support it can be it financial or material. Furthermore Vetaka shall do what it can to support Zanski in rebuilding its economy and its place on the international stage. Furthermore Vetaka shall what it can to support, protect and promote Zanskian independence, sovereignty and position within the world.

With the now International Blockade fully in place around the Zanski nation its operation was now fully operational. With the allied air forces mounting a constant air patrol around the nation ensuring any Zanskian plane that attempted to leave was forced to withdraw or any Zanski plane that attempted to enter was escorted away from the nation. So far beside the odd isolated incident their had been no real incidents. As the politicians back in New Theeb continued their attempts at resolving the situation Supreme Admiral Katie Contona continued her mission. She had just given the order for the Intel Boys to begin gathering vitally needed intelligence upon Zanski as a result whilst she had specifically forbidden Special Forces Insertion for now she had authorised the flight of UAV Spy Planes over Zanski along with the deployment of OBSAT Spy Satellites.

As a result on the flight deck of the Enterprise a number of UAV Recon planes where being prepared for operation. As engineers worked over them preparing them for launch aboard the Sandakan Class Battlecruiser VDFNS Callum Longshaw pilots deep within the now affluently named "Spy Command" Operation Room numerous pilots and controllers worked over Monitors ensuring all camera's where operational and subsequent ones that were offline were repaired by the engineers. When all was ready and operational and the authorization was given from the Admiralty the Kriegzimmer designed Vetakan produced GF11 Archer Tactical Reconnaissance Unmanned Aerial Vehicle's (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10079775&postcount=895) flanked by their GF15 Valkyrie Anti-Armour Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10675744&postcount=1349)& NX-19 Anti Air Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle for protection.

The UAV's grouped in small squadrons of 3 gracefully lifted from their Carriers and elegantly flew towards the Zanskian Coastline they would locate and hopefully gather vital Intel upon the Zanskian Navy, Air Forces, Ground Forces and what VSIS had identified as "Sensitive Targets".
