Description:
The Armed Protectors of Burtilana (APB) is a banned political organisation and militia
within Burtilana loyal to the ousted former president. They have no
land as such, but are spread throughout Burtilana, operating underground.
Although banned, they enjoy a large following of a couple million.
The leadership operates from several vessels in international waters, from old
warships of the old regime to large cargo ships. Though details are few and far between,
it is believed Serge Strong is the current leader, with many
henchmen being other commanders and leaders.
There strongest influence is in the agricultural south to south west, where there are no
major cities, and only one military base.
Their main source of income is in drugs and arms trafficking. They regularly arm rebels
with kits and equipment on loan, or to be paid once they are in power. They themselves
see it as they are arming the poor nations and
creating a future for them. Reports suggest they also provide 'soldiers' to
fight for causes.

Our training is very similar to that of a USSB LA reservist. Though due to our relatively small budget the equipment we use is similar to that of the old regime. This is also in honour of it.

The SMG-95 is an automatic, blowback-operated firearm. A unique feature of this design is the angle of the bolt guide rails in relation to the bore axis. During firing, the telescopic bolt, which encloses the barrel for most of its length, recoils up an inclined plane at an angle to the barrel, giving an element of braking to the bolt, and also resisting the upward movement of the barrel during firing. This arrangement aligns the shooters hand wrapping the pistol grip directly with the longitudinal axis of the barrel. The pistol grip is also located higher than on many other submachine guns, giving better control over recoil and muzzle rise. The SMG-95 has an extractor contained in the bolt and a fixed ejector installed in the trigger housing. The weapon’s ejection port is covered in both the forward and rear positions of the bolt assembly, securing the gun’s internal mechanisms against dust and debris.

The submachine gun uses 20 or 40-round box magazines. The trigger mechanism features a two-stage progressive trigger that provides two modes of operation: semi-automatic fire, when the trigger is squeezed momentarily and fully automatic fire produced when the trigger is pulled all the way through and held back. No fire control selector is provided. The SMG-95 features a striker firing mechanism with a fixed firing pin installed inside the bolt (the dual-purpose return spring also serves as the firing pin spring). The weapon is chambered for the NATO-standard 9x19mm Parabellum pistol cartridge.

The CSR1 model 1968 sniper rifle was designed on the basis of the Beretta sporting rifle.
CSR1 is a rotating bolt, manually operated rifle. It has heavy, free floated barrel with match-grade ajustable iron sights as a standard option and NATO STANAG 2324 -compliant scope mounts. Standard scope used is a BDOTP 1.0-6.5X variable power scope. The stock is made from wood and is ajustable for length of pull and for position of the cheek-rest.

The RPG.6-85, is a APB copy of the famous RPG-7 developed by the Soviet Union. First introduced in 1985, the RPG.6-85 is a common individual anti-tank weapon in service with the APB. The RPG.6-85, like its predecessor the RPG-7, is one of the most popular infantry anti-tank and general support weapons in the world. It is robust, cheap, easy to operate, and carries a lethal punch.
The RPG.6-85 is a shoulder-launched, muzzle-loaded anti-tank and anti-personnel grenade launcher which launches a variety of fin-stabilised, over-sized grenades from its 40mm tube. The launcher has an optical daylight sight and infrared night vision to provide increased fire accuracy. In general, the RPG.6-85 is a low-cost, easy-to-use weapon with a significant firepower. It is sometimes referred to as “infantry artillery” or “pocket artillery”.

This is mostly meant to combat against entrenched forces since the rocket, after gaining impact on the ground, bounces to a chest to 2m height then airbursts over the target area, scattering about 800 anti-personnel steel balls over a lethal radius of 15m. - $6000

Type 3 High-Explosive / High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HE/HEAT) - Used for anti-armor and anti-personnel combat. Even though it has 1,500 prefabricated fragments, which scatter over a 20m radius on detonation, the rocket retains its anti-tank capabilities. - $7000

Type 4 Anti-Personnel High-Explosive Incendiary (HEI) - Created for use in certain environments such as jungles and mountains, it has 900 steel balls and 2,000 to 3,000 incendiary pellets that scatter over a 15m radius on detonation. - $5000

Type 5 Tandem-Warhead Anti-Tank Grenade - It is meant to penetrate vehicles with the Explosive Reaction Armor or ERA. Even though it can't defeat most modern vehicles, lighter vehicles such as APCs and AFVs can be destroyed with this rocket. - $7500

Type 6 Illumination Grenade - Equipped with a small parachute to suspend it in mid air while being used, its effective range is 600m with the braking ring and 1,500m without it. - $5000

The MT1 76mm mortar is a muzzle-loaded, smooth-bore, high-angle-of-fire, drop-fired weapon.

The M224 provides air assault, airborne, ranger, and light infantry rifle companies with an effective, efficient, and flexible weapon. The inherent limitations of a light mortar (short-range and small-explosive charge) can be minimized by careful planning and a thorough knowledge of its capabilities.

The mortar can be fired accurately with extensive training and practice. The short minimum range of the MT1 makes the mortar well suited for close protective fires against an assaulting enemy, for block-to-block fighting in cities, and combat over close terrain with restricted visibility.

The cannon assembly has one end closed by a base cap. The base cap end of the cannon has cooling fins on the outside, which reduce heat generated during firing.

The B1 baseplate is a one-piece, rectangular, aluminum-forging base. It should be used when the mortar is fired in urban environments. The baseplate allows the mortar to be fired 0800 mils left and 0800 mils right of the center of sector for a total sector coverage of 1600 mils. It has a socket in which the barrel can be locked to the baseplate by securing the locking arm. The underside of the baseplate has a large rubber grip to strengthen and stabilize the mortar during firing on hard surfaces, i.e tarmac. Two spring-loaded plungers lock the baseplate to the barrel in its carry position. The B2 baseplate has the same features, but has 4 spikes to be dug into the ground, weighing slightly more because of this, it is best suited to any natural surface, i.e grass. Rubber stoppers are provided to provent accidental stabbings with the spikes.

Ammunition:
Due to the larger caliber, mortar teams can use mortars found on the battlefield which are of a smaller size*, whilst other mortar teams of enemies cannot use the larger rounds. *Albeit with less accuracy, must also be drop-triggered rounds.

The MG1 is an air-cooled and gas-operated machine gun firing from an open bolt. It chambers the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge and feeds from a disintegrating belt of metallic M13 links. The body is mostly made of plastic, with only the barrel and inner working being constructed of steel.
