Nationalisation of private business ordered by the Commissar
Local capitalist and civil rights activists outraged at "unfair seizure of property"

VLADISTOV, STOKLOMOLVI - After noting the increasingly large numbers of illegal private businesses sprouting through Stoklomolvi outside of the arms manufacturing business sector, the Commissar has issued a nationwide closure of all private business, foreign and domestic. Many local fringe groups have staged protests against the seizure of private property, though the Commissar has promised reparations and compensation for the lost property. However, the idea that the private business owners will receive anything at all is unlikely at this point, for it has been over two months since their property was seized.
"They're monsters, I tell ya."
Several peaceful protests have since arisen in the cities of Vladistov, Muscovy, and Port Stoklomolvi, denouncing the Commissar. Due to their unarmed nature, the Commissar has refused to take action, stating that "only armed protesters need be disciplined." Several protesters were interviewed as to why they were protesting, and some interesting responses were gathered. A local reverend, Joao Winthrop II, who opened a small coffee shop to supplement his meagre revenues from the government, was angered that his only source of outside income was destroyed.
"They [the government] took away everything. My coffee shop, which I have ran for the last ten years, was a favourite of the locals, and they took all of it. They're monsters, I tell ya."
Resident optimist and philanthropist Boris Gorovsky had his small medical clinic taken away from him.
"My patients were some of the best there are. Extremely cooperative, and the income was quite excellent. Now, I have nothing."
Famous expressionist artist Vasiliy Kandinsky also expressed outrage over the seizure of private property.
"They took my art supply store, my art school, and my art away from me. Those communists will never take my soul!"
Crackdown
With the numbers of protesters growing rapidly, the Commissar then became disappointed that the people would not recognise the global benefit that would come forth. Thus, he sent his KGB forces to all of the major protest areas and gave the order for a full disperse of the several week long protests. The protests in most cities were dispersed, though the protest in Vladistov would not end peacefully. Tanks rolled through the Red Square, flattening a statue carved to poke fun at the Commissar. The protesters attempted to flee, yet the tanks and the infantry alongside the tanks opened fire on the protesters, killing many. The government has not released any figures regarding the incident.

If all and any assets owned by The World Soviet Party, be it the government or private citizens, in The Communist Dominion of Stoklomolvi are not returned to their rightful owners, or some sort of compensation is given by the Stoklomolvian (OOC: is this correct?) government in the next forty eight (48) hours, The Socialist States of the World Soviet Party will be forced to place a total embargo on the nation of Stoklomolvi.
This situation, clearly mirroring the one in Zanski, is preoccupying to the Soviet government, and further, more hostile actions, will have to be reviewed and enacted, they will become more likely if Commissar maintains his current policy.

Just minutes after receiving the formal order of expulsion from the Foreign Authority, half a dozen ZNPD rapid response teams and a EC 135 helicopter were on their way to the Stocklomovi embassy compound on the fringes of Zinaire City.
Upon arriving at the gated, four-acre compound, the six occupants of the lead vehicle dismounted and approached the gate guard. Two showed them the order and their ZNPD identification while the other four kept their G36Cs leveled on the guards.
"Now, if you'll please just open the gate, surrender your weapon and walk, with your hands on your head, to those officers over there." Said the officer in charge, pointing two another six-man team that was ready to frisk the guards then take them into custody.

Subject: Closure of Embassy and Anti-Business Politics
We are saddened to hear that our embassy has been closed, though we will not be altering our stance on business at this time. Illegal business in Stoklomolvi costs trillions of dollars in internal revenues each year, and the total amount lost skyrockets well over many times the GDP of your entire nation. This is largely due to very strange ordering of goods by these businesses, such as the random ordering of millions of barrels of explosions that are mysteriously placed in random locations in the middle of Stoklomolvi conveniently before one of our Stoklo-Siberian wars. At any rate, the loss of revenue has finally ceased, and it may be some time before we loosen our view on business.

JJI Tower, Port Stoklomolvi
Though the government had ordered the closure of most business, foreign and domestic, the local branch of Jimmy James Industries continued to operate, under the guise of being an arms manufacturer. No one knew how long it would take, but they all knew the government would realize that certain paperwork had been misfiled, and many other clerical inaccuracies existed concerning the records on JJI Arms, the name of the subsidiary that had been setup to ensure safe operation in Stoklomolvi. Including it being listed as a nonprofit charity for children without guns, and owned by a 95 year old woman who had died over a year ago. No one was sure what was going to happen, but they knew that they were to continue operation as long as possible.

To Alexei,
For a long time our two nations have been very close friends, ever since the landmark meeting, and alliance attended and signed by His Holiness, Edwardo Listless. I am sure you remember this meeting. We were hoping that our citizens, those of one of your nations biggest allies and supporters, could be quickly compensated for their losses. We would hate for the press to get wind of this, and have a field day, calling for our government to take action, it would put me in a very difficult position, one of which that I am not sure of the outcome. I hope that nothing more formal will be necessary, as I think of us as friends, even though we have not met. Also, on that note, I think it is time that we have met, it has been a long time since the leaders of our two nations have met, and I think the time is much overdo, I shall await your reply.

At the Zinairian embassy, the guards were at a loss for words when they saw armed men at the gates telling them to leave. One of the propaganda commissars knew what was happening, and instantly reacted with a press of a siren that alerted the guards to attention. The gate was instantly reinforced with two second automated metal sheets that closed in front of the black, ornate and meticulously sculpted grate. The guards, who were standing in the courtyard, then climbed the watchtowers on each corner and on either side of the gate. The gate guard was not really there, merely a glint of the sun shining on the metal walls of the embassy. The propaganda commissar climbed one of the towers and yelled down at the guards.
"What do you want? We have done nothing wrong!"

We have been tracking a former Cnian citizen who had left the country illegally and is trying to currently become a citizen in your country. Threw our monitoring we have found that he had attempted to start up an illegal business, please do with him as you wish. [Name: Codex Xang, Location: New Brewster Ave., 142]
OOC: Did we do some kind of economic exchange back in EA? I don't remember.
OOC: How did my police mistake a sunspot for a man?
"Damn commies." Muttered the leader as the reinforcements slid into place.
One of the officers ran and got a bullhorn from the vehicle. He gave it to the leader, who yelled up the the commissar.
"We have an official order of expulsion from the Zinairian Foreign Authority. As an act of political protest against your nation's increasingly anti-business politics, you are being expelled indefinitely from the embassy. This expulsion is within our rights as outlined in the agreement signed at the establishment of your embassy. If you would like, we can send the order up with one of your guards. Now please, open the gate and you and your staff will be taken comfortably to the airport where you will be sent back to Stoklomovi unharmed. Any further acts of aggression towards us will be seen as authorization to use force."
The leader returned the bull horn to the Defender then got on his radio, first to the helicopter above the embassy, which held two police snipers.
"If they start shooting, you have authorization to pick off anyone who has their hand on a gun. Just don't get trigger-happy."
Next he radioed back to the ZNPD field office in Zinaire City.
"The Stoklomovi have barricaded themselves inside their embassy. We need some heavier vehicles here–*something to ram through the walls possibly. Get a SWAT team and a negotiator out here to, but keep SWAT out of sight and with sirens off until we give the go-ahead. Hopefully they'll just surrender. Oh, and tell the FA to add 'unauthorized building modifications' to the order of expulsion. "
The leader picked his bullhorn up again and went back to speak to the commissar.
"So, what'll it be? Are these gates going to open up?"

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
_____________
At the home of Codex Xang, his small watch shop was a successful business that served the hundreds of people in his small town. Everyone in town knew him, and everyone in the town were obedient citizens who had never thought to commit a crime. Codex Xang was even the town crier for new laws passed, though in a twist of irony he would be terminated for breaking one.
One cool morning, Xang opened the store as he did normally, and greeted the passers-by. A small line formed to collect the watches that they wanted repaired, and others browsed through the large collection of his famous watches. Unexpectedly, three armoured cars rumbled across the main street past the scores of closed stores. A KGB officer disembarked at Xang's store, and handed Xang a termination order. The citizens protested the action, and Xang sat there, trembling and confused as to what law he had broken. At any rate, the KGB officers hopped out of the armoured cars and readied their AK-105 submachine guns. Xang held his hands up, and a number of foreign reporters started snapping photographs of the police brutality.
Uneasy silence followed as the KGB officers pointed their guns at the civilians and Xang, reporters quietly taking photographs of the incident. The economics commissar in command held his hand up, and then gave the order to fire. Other reporters filmed the scene as the KGB officers mowed down the innocent civilians and Xang in cold blood. Bullets smashed through the windows of Xang's watch shop, and Xang was killed instantly with a bullet in the head as other civilians were injured by broken glass and shrapnel. After the shooting, the KGB officers boarded their armoured cars and drove off as if nothing happened. The reporters would then go on to upload their photographs and films to the internet, all with provocative titles such as "Stoklomolvi civil protection brutalises local citizens" and "Stoklomolvi military police mows down dozens for no reason". It was true, of course, that private business did cost the government little in subsidies. However, the true reason for closing down private business would be concealed for the years to come.
_____________
Back at the Zinairian embassy, the propaganda commissar talked to thet other diplomatic staff. Eventually, it was decided that they would sit in the embassy for as long as possible before leaving. The staff then divided up the remaining food supply, which would normally have lasted three months, into small portions that would enable them to live in the embassy for seven months. The propaganda commissar knew that so long as they did not instigate the conflict, any move would be considered aggression towards their property which they have paid for. Thus, they would sit in their embassy. The propaganda commissar stuck his head out of the gunport in the tower.
"We will not be coming out, and if you attempt to damage our property we will sue you!"
He then sat back down and gave the order for a ceasefire.
The commanding officer rolled his eyes. He went back to his vehicle and radioed the field office.
"It looks like they're hunkering down. They say that if we damage their property, they're going to sue us."
The officer on the other end chuckled. "Well, you boys have fun, just don't break the bank."
"Will do. Can you send the SWAT team and the negotiator in?"
Moments later, a SWAT vehicle (a modified Rafael Wolf) and a civilian car pulled up to the line of special response vehicles. The negotiator got our of his car and walked to meet the commanding officer.
"Dr. Henry Lowe, negotiator."
The officer clapped him on the back and handed him the bullhorn.
"Great, nice to meet you, do your thing."
Dr. Lowe took the bullhorn and stepped towards the compound.
"My name is Dr. Henry Lowe, I just want to talk to you. I want to know what you think this is accomplishing. If you surrender, they're going to take you right back to Stoklomovi where you'll be much more comfortable then you are holed up in an embassy with hardly any food. Come out in ten minutes, or things are going to start getting less comfortable."
As Dr. Lowe was talking, the commanding officer was ordering the other policemen around. He had sent one SRT (special response team) to set up a perimeter. He had another set to rappel over the walls if it came to that. And, if they weren't able to open the compound gates from the inside, the SWAT team was ready with a Gate Crasher (http://videos.howstuffworks.com/discovery/7114-future-weapons-gate-crasher-video.htm) to blow a hole in the wall.
With the perimeter established, the commanding officer radioed the helicopter.
"We have a space set for you to land on, come on down."
With everything ready to go, it was now just a matter of whether they'd be doing this the easy way or the hard way.
Stoklomolvi
18-07-2008, 06:47
The propaganda commissar's eyes widened as he began to realise the size of the perimeter they were being forced to guard. He raised his hand, and yelled something in a Siberian dialect of Stoklomolvi that never had a written form. With that, every guard disappeared from the walls and ran towards the inner embassy compound, which covered much less ground at only half an acre. In addition, they would have the bonus of having no usable cover for the Zinairians to use should an armed conflict take place.
There, they would hole themselves up. The food was stored in the granary in the centre of the building, next to the portable fusion power generator and water extractor. It would be akin to a medieval siege.
"They're pulling back to the keep, sir."
"What? Should I ready the trebuchets?"
"The inner compound, sir. Sorry."
"That's better. Very well, let's get over this wall."
The officer looked around at the nearly fifty men under his command. There was no way each and every one of them was rappelling over the wall.
Let the lawsuits begin. He thought to himself, as he called the SWAT team over.
"We going to blow the wall open?" Asked the SWAT commander.
"Sure thing, get the Gate Crasher in place."
The SWAT officer nodded and placed the large plastic device, already fitted with its small payload of C4, against the wall. Everyone pulled back to a safe distance, and the plastic explosive was detonated, cutting a clean, man-sized hole into the wall.
(OOC: Once inside, will they be able to open the gate? Also, could you draw a quick map or just give me a description of the compound?)
OOC: Zinaire, you have a telegram.

In Zinaire, the twenty four guards were able to retreat to the centre compound. Back at the outer curtain, the hole was blown, though the explosion left a big crater and did not fully penetrate the wall. The layers of concrete and steel had been able to leave two feet of wall standing, enough to be an obstacle to infantry but pose no challenge to heavier weaponry. At any rate, the wall was close to gone.

"DAMN COMMIES! Okay, change of plan. You six!" The leader said, pointing to a SRT, "In the helicopter! You're going to fly over and unlock the gate."
The current passengers in the helicopter jumped out and were replaced by the SRT. The helicopter took off and ferried them over the wall to right behind the gate. The small gatehouse was locked, so the team's designated grenadier/rifleman pulled a HE 40mm grenade off his belt and loaded it into his G36's underbarrel grenade launcher. He and the rest of the team stood back while he blew the lock clean off the door. The grenadier grinned and marched into the gatehouse.
The SRT had found what they thought opened the gate but it required a keycard. They began opening drawers looking for one when an officer noticed something shiny and red in the dirt. He went over and, beaming, picked up a key card.
"I think someone dropped this."
The officer swiped it then pressed the button to open the gate.
(OOC: So I guess it's up to you. Do the gates swing wide open or was that a hotel key?"

The United Royal Provinces of Yanitaria do not condone the nationalization of small businesses, as it simply enforces the same economic enslavement that capitalists inadvertantly espouse. For the greater good of Stoklomolvi, and for the ideals of worker equality, we ask that Stoklomolvi allow it's citizens to operate small businesses, and simply tax and monitor them with your large police force.
However, should any foreign powers feel the need to resolve this conflict violently, we will honour our alliance with Stoklomolvi.

The red keycard, if read, had the words "Stoklomolvi Infantry Explosives Brigade 4,592" written on it, for Ivan, the resident demolitions fanatic, was a diplomatic staff and in his spare time had wired up the entire outer wall with explosives purely to look at. Interestingly, though, he did not wall the gatehouse, and had likely accidentally dropped his beloved keycard in the dirt when he fled under orders. The keycard, however, was stuck into the demolitions activation slot, and when the Zinairian soldier pressed the button the entire outer curtain exploded in a massive show of fire. Every piece of concrete and steel in the entire wall was obliterated in the blast.
The propaganda commissar pulled out a bullhorn and yelled at the Zinairians with it.
"That's going to cost you!"

You do have a fine point. However, this is not a valid option for us at this time. We may allow ownership of private business in the near future, but for the moment, all venues for purchasing goods will remain firmly under government control. We will first execute all those who have been purchasing stupid items, such as barrels of high explosive, before we will allow private ownership.

"That's going to cost us?! What the hell were you thinking, wiring the wall with explosives?! We were almost killed! Goddamn commies!" The commanding officer was now well beyond the point of mumbling.
He turned back to make sure no one had been injured by the flying rubble. All his men seemed to be safe but then his eyes fell on the negotiator– lying still on the ground. "Oh, come on!" He went over and checked for a pulse and, finding none, he returned to his car and radioed base.
"We've got a man down. Those crazy reds wired the wall to explode and when it did, it killed the negotiator."
The commanding officer turned back to his men. "Okay, everyone! Load up! We're going in!"
As the officers were loading into their vehicles, we went to the helicopter to make sure they were ready.
"You guys all set?"
The two officers in the back, holding Milkor MGLs, nodded.
"Okay, wait until I give the word."
They nodded again and the commander jogged off to get into his vehicle.

Saar-Kexarin, Kexarin
Regent Noér Amtimur looked out from his tinted window down onto the vibrant metropolis of 100 million people. To him and Kexarin's Magisterium, the re-nationalisation of Stoklomolvi's private sector was merely an economic issue, nothing to become politically concerned about. In fact, Kexarin didn't care too much about the governance of other nations, as long as their merchants still docked in Kexarin's ports, and their biotechnology markets remained open. That same apathy and polite disconnection applied to the Magisterium's domestic policy as well. Citizens did what they wished, buisnesses could conduct as they pleased. As long as you didn't try and mess with the Magisterium.
The world's corporatist versus communist battle mattered little to the de-facto city-state in northern Novus Universitas. Capitalism always won in the long term anyway, allowing Kexarin to benefit. The stock portfolios for the short term would have too be seen to, however.

Holy Imperial Palace - Saint Alexander City, Rathanan
Holy Emperor Tiberius Lucius Severus looked at his Minister of Diplomacy, Quintus Octavius Lepidus with a slight frown on his face.
"So, basically, businesses were all shut down regardless of weather or not they're from the country?" He finally asked.
"Pretty much, Your Highness." Octavius responded.
"Do we even have any business interests in uhh... The Holy Emperor paused to look at the memo. Stoklomolvi?"
"I'm not certain, your highness, but I think it would be prudent to release a statement demanding compensation for the businesses if there are... Just to be safe." Octavius responded.
"Is there any point? Any Rathani businesses that set up offices there should have considered the risks." The Holy Emperor remarked.
"We can't afford to look weak, if we say nothing other countries that we definitely have businesses interests in might become emboldened." Octavius advised. "Plus, if we condemned the nationalization of other countries' businesses then we can make some friends in the international community." He added.
"Alright, but this better not make us look foolish... And get Minister Lurco and Grand Admiral Agrippa on this too." The Holy Emperor responded.

Official Statement from the Holy Imperial Ministry of Diplomacy; The Holy Empire of Rathanan
To: The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
From: Q. Octavius Lepidus, Minister of Diplomacy for the Holy Empire of Rathanan; T. Calidius Lurco, Minister of Commerce for the Holy Empire of Rathanan; N. Cassius Agrippia, Grand Admiral of the Holy Imperial Navy; and Ti. Lucius Severus, Holy Emperor of the Holy Empire of Rathanan
The Holy Empire of Rathanan is deeply distressed at the recent decision to nationalize all businesses without discriminating between foreign and domestic companies. While we deeply disapprove of this Marxist action in general, what you do in your country is your business, but any and all Rathani businesses within Stoklomovi must be fully compensated for their loss.
Refusal to compensate Rathani businesses will be noted as hostility and any and all Stoklomolvi trade ships the Holy Imperial Navy encounters will be boarded and their contents seized and burned. While this seems severe, it goes back to the old adage, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Unless you choose to repeal your threats, the Yanitarian Royal Navy shall be sent to escort all Stoklomolvi ships traveling near your nation.
Your civilians have had ample time to pack their belongings and leave, while the Stoklomolvi government is simply trying to gain control over the growing illegal market. Something that any citizen operating a business in Stoklomolvi would have known was illegal when they opened the business.
Why should Stoklomolvi pay for a crime your citizens knew was illegal in the first place?

_____________
One of the guards ran up to the propaganda commissar.
"Sir! Sir!"
"What is it?"
"They've breached the outer curtain and are entering the courtyard!"
"Have they poisoned our wells, slaughtered our livestock, and salted our fields?"
"Eh, no sir. This isn't a castle."
"Bah. Hold on a moment."
The propaganda commissar pulled out his bullhorn again.
"If you get closer within exactly 45.89 metres of the centre compound, we will open fire! There's a little white line that marks the point, if you look closely. Right in front of where you're all standing. Yeah, there."
He ducked back inside. He yelled at the other guards.
"Ready your weapons, men! We may never get out of here alive."
The commanding officer tried to keep from grinning. "Oh darn! Now we have authorization to use deadly force! Now someone give me my bullhorn."
A SRT officer handed the commander his bullhorn.
"We will give you one final chance to surrender unharmed. Bare in mind that you are outnumbered and using ancient equipment. If you chose not to heed out warning, I will do our best to avoid the death of your staff, but under no conditions will I let my own man fall to save one of yours. After this offer has expired, you are no longer guaranteed safe passage back to Stoklomovi."
As the commander (OOC: I really should give him a name) finished talking, a black saloon speed through the barricades and onto the complex ground.
"Someone stop that car!"
"It has government plates sir!"
The car executed a hairpin turn mere centimeters from the white line and as it sped off in the other direction, the back door open and a disheveled college student clutching a piece of paper was thrown out. As he straightened up, a nameplate reading "FOREIGN AUTHORITY, Intern" became visible.
"I have an order of expulsion here for a Mr. Stoklomovi!" Whined the intern in a high, nasally voice.
"They're right up there, just go knock." Said the commanding officer.
As the intern began to approach the white line, he noticed the gun barrels in the Stoklomovi embassy.
"Oh god! Guns! Don't shoot!" The intern began wildly turning out his pockets and opening his blazer. "Look! I'm unarmed! Don't shoot!"
A SWAT officer accidentally stepped on a twig and the intern took off running, leaving the paper behind. The commanding officer picked it up and examined it, then he put the bullhorn back up to his mouth.
"What I have here is the latest Order of Expulsion from the Foreign Authority. I'm going to read this mid-length, incredibly boring document and by the time I finish, you'd better be either coming out here with your hands up, or fast asleep in there so we can come grab you. Got it?"
Then, in his best monotone, the officer read the document:
http://img.skitch.com/20080720-qy8u2sncj3j7bmtnqir5ms2224.jpg
When he finished, he cleared his throat and resumed his normal speaking voice. "I don't hear snoring and I don't see any hands in the air! This is your last chance! Come out with your hands up!"
Stoklomolvi
20-07-2008, 05:04
"I can refute each of those statements!"
The propaganda commissar pulled out a sheet of permissions and transcripts.
"For point one, we stated explicitly that the embassy structure would be of our own design. Your government granted us permission to do so, and had they ever inquired about the structure we would have told them the details. In addition, the guard towers were not for the purpose of firing weapons. If you looked closely before they were blown up, there were searchlights mounted on them."
He read down the page.
"Point two, uh, we aren't resisting, uh, bah. Point three, erm, never mind. Come and get us! By the way, you detonated the explosives, so it's not our fault. We're suing you for blowing up all of that expensive wall!"
He ducked back into the embassy.
"Men, ready your weapons, and narrow all gunports. If they use explosives, then we'll sue them for property damage."
[OOC: Very nice foreign authority sheet. One thing though, you spelled my country name wrong. :P ]
"What else would you expect from someone with 'propaganda' in their title? Very we-"
"He does have a point, sir. If you look at these records from the FA, they were permitted to use their own design."
"Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that their prohibited explosives killed a man who, frankly, was quite annoying not to mention funny smelling."
(OOC: Goddamn it, I just realized that you blew up the wall and that's where I was going to put my snipers. Well, your garden officially has trees in it now.)
"Okay everyone! Listen up! First off, move the vehicles into a barricade along that white line."
Slowly, the seven armored or partially armored vehicles moved into position just behind the white line.
"Okay, snipers! One on the roof of the Wolf, five in the trees and and the other two, take positions along the barricade. Where's my machine gunner?"
An officer with a HK MG4 raised his hand.
"Okay, you're on the barricade directly across from the main entrance. SRT riflemen and grenadiers, take positions along the barricade. The rest of the SWAT team and group leaders, come with me."
Twelve men approached the commanding officer. Five were the leaders of the other SRTs, one was the SWAT leader, five were SWAT riflemen and one was a SWAT grenadier.
"Okay, everyone have their armor on?" The commanding officer asked of the group assembled before him and of his force in general.
Everyone shouted back their affirmation. (OOC: They're all wearing ballistic helmets. The SRT guys are wearing pretty standard body armor and the SWAT team is wearing heavier, more military stuff).
"SRT leaders, you stay back here and watch for any changes. Provide support at the barricade if needed. SWAT and SWAT leader, come with me."
They went to the back of the SWAT vehicle where they pulled out three ballistic shields, a battering ram, several boxes of various kinds of 40mm grenades and eight gas masks.
Now speaking in hushed tones, the commander instructed the grenadier to fill the six chambers of his Milkor MGL with tear gas grenades. Then, he instructed a team of three riflemen to take the battering ram and a shield and find somewhere either to get in or just to make some noise. The other two teams, one composed of two riflemen and the SWAT leader and the other composed of the commander and the grenadier, would take the other two shields and try to find a way in.
"Okay everyone, gas masks on. Let's get to work."
As the teams split off, the commander radioed for the helicopter to come on in.
(OOC: Does the building have any skylights? How about regular windows or doors where people could come in/throw grenades in? How many stories is it? And, BTW, if you have any serious problems with the trees, I'll change it.)

20-07-2008, 06:44
[OOC: The fact that there are trees really messes up some of my tactics. I was planning on having just a wide plain with absolutely nothing in it, really. The trees would be around the embassy building itself, if there were any. The building has a roof with no doors or windows, and all windows have that weird steel grate thing that you often see when you're in China. In addition, the windows are made out of double-layer bulletproof glass, top floor. The other floors have rather thin gunport-looking things for windows. I remember saying something like four stories.]
"Alright men, get your cabbages ready."
The guards all pulled cabbages out of their packs.
"Don't throw until you see the cobbled parts of their boots! Wait, no. On second thought, just shoot them the moment they step over the line. When the get close enough, THEN we throw the cabbages."
"Yes sir!"
The propaganda commissar pulled out his bullhorn.
"Come on, you pansies! Your mothers are all hamsters and your fathers all smell of elderberries!"
(OOC: Okay fine, but remind me to fight you on a part of my home turf that I actually control next time. Just pretend all the snipers are along the barricade. If I were to get some men onto the top floor, is there a stairwell or something? Elevator?
I've never been to China (thank goodness for small favors), but I assume you mean that thing where there's like metal grating imbedded in the glass.)
After flying over the roof and determining there was no easy way in from there, the helicopter took to hovering alongside the top floor. Inside, the grenadiers were having a very good day.
"Who says army guys have all the fun?" Said one as he removed the gas grenades from his Milkor MGL and replaced them with Hellhounds (OOC: supposedly, they offer twice the boom of regular 40mm grenades).
"It looks bulletproof or something."
"Yeah dufus, I can tell. If you didn't notice, this is a grenade launcher, not a BB gun."
To prove his point, the grenadier fired two grenades at the nearest window. The glass, technically classified as "bullet resistant" didn't do too well when two somethings much bigger and much meaner than your average bullet hit it. (OOC: I'm being rather vague since Wikipedia neglected to include a section in the "Bulletproof glass" article called "What happens when it's hit by a Hellhound grenade". So I guess it's up to you what happened to that poor window.)
Stoklomolvi
20-07-2008, 09:55
[OOC: Actually, the grate is in front of the window, and is used to stop burglars. It protrudes about two feet out of the house. I know since I'm staying inside one of these right now. The ones installed in the embassy have screens. The roof is completely nondescript; no stairs, elevators, anything.]
The first grenade exploded on the screen and shattered it, sending metal fragments everywhere. The second, by pure luck, ricocheted off of one of the bars and exploded in mid-air, sending pieces of metal at supersonic speeds everywhere. The glass had a bunch embedded in it, but for the most part the glass was intact, albeit shattered a bit. The guards, alerted by the explosions, stuck their heads out the window and saw the helicopter. Immediately, twelve guards were firing their outdated weapons at it and the others armed the diplomatic staff. The propaganda commissar cried out into the bullhorn.
"Throw them now!"
The guards tossed cabbages at the helicopter.

To: Whomever it may concern in the "Holy" Empire of Rathanan
We find your threats to be overly paranoid. Stoklomolvi is not home to any businesses from your nation, and we have only threatened to do to your nation what you had already threatened to do to one of our closest allies, and now ourselves. We request that you repeal your threats to both of our nations, or we will have to treat Rathani ships with the same discourtesy that you insist on treating ours with.
Military escorts will now be assigned to any Yanitarian ships passing close to Rathani waters. Firing upon them in international waters will be considered an act of war.
(OOC: Either your guards have really tiny heads, or there's some first floor window you didn't tell me about.)
"We're being shot at! And someone seems to be throwing salad green at us as well." Yelled one grenadier over rotor noise and gunfire.
"Affirmative. If the info from the FA is correct, they're just carrying 9mm submachine guns, but I'm going to set this baby down and make sure they didn't hit anything important anyway." Replied the pilot, starting to fly the helicopter away from the central complex.
Below, the men at the blockade were returning fire. However, with the thin gun ports to aim for, any hits would be a miracle. Even the snipers with their deadly accurate PSG-1s were having a hard time.
The entrance teams were yet to find any ways into the compound. However, the grenadier team had found an unoccupied section of gun ports. Realizing that the port was to small for a 40mm grenade, the grenadier pulled a hellhound off his belt and put it into his MGL. He and the commander moved back to a safe distance, then he fired at the port, hoping to open it wide enough to put a gas grenade through.
(OOC: I assume your walls are just concrete or stone or something and not like solid steel.)

[OOC: Eh, whoops. My mistake there. Serves me right for writing that with a few hours of sleep. Erm, assume there was a random window in a bathroom stall or something that was not really a window but a transparent sheet of something. At any rate, I think they would have heard the explosion. Also, the embassy is made of the layered concrete and steel, like the wall. Expensive stuff.]
The guards noticed that the cabbage grenades did not detonate. The commissar was outraged at the poor quality of the cabbages.
"Damn! They should have exploded into deadly clouds of rotting cabbage by now!"
The bullets from the Zinairian blockade impacted all around the gunport, though two stray bullets managed to slip in. One of the bullets shattered a small mirror, sending glass fragments everywhere. The other hit a man's helmet off his head. However, one of the snipers had a lucky shot, and the bullet went straight through the gunport into a guard's skull. His brain exploded as the bullet pierced through and landed in the bloody pulp of a head that was left. The other guards were shaken but continued to fire.
The grenade, miraculously, actually managed to get into the gunport. Unfortunately for the grenade, it landed in a bucket of water, and whne the grenade exploded it sent bucket fragments everywhere, and water spewed out of the gunport. The inside of the building was wet and damaged, though overall damage done was little, as the gunport was empty. The diplomatic staff, now armed with AK-105 weaponry, ran to every unoccupied gunport and fired out.
"GODDAMN COMMIE BASTARDS!" Yelled the commander as he and the grenadier cowered behind the ballistic shield. He picked up his radio and called the field office again, "Tell the FA to add possession and use of unreported firearms to the order. And you know, if they're not too busy, maybe the other SWAT team. Send over any extra grenade launchers and hellhounds with them."
Still crouched behind the shield, the two officers shuffled towards the barricade. The other two entering teams were currently engaged in similar maneuvers.
The aerial response team had landed safely in the street and the pilot was walking around the EC 135 looking for damage. There were a fair number of dents and holes, but it appeared operational.
"Okay," said the pilot, "Here's the plan. With the other men providing cover fire, they're not going to want to stick their hands, much less their heads, out into the open. So, we should be able to breach that window and get inside."

26-07-2008, 15:43
[OOC: Was looking for this thread, then realised that I could search for my own recent posts. Bah.]
The propaganda commissar was satisfied with the progress. If the siege of Embassy Castle failed, then the food shipments from Stoklomolvi would arrive in a very timely five months. Then, it would be another five months back. At any rate, the propaganda commissar pulled out an old projectile launcher and stuffed a piece of paper in it. He shot it out the gunport, and hoped for it to land on some officer's head, for the paper was a legal document pressing charges against the Zinairian government for damaging the embassy which the Stoklomolvi government paid for.
Back inside, the men were scurrying about, shooting out the gunports while running back and forth and reloading. The propaganda commissar was not amused.
"No, no, no, it's first reload, aim, then shoot, not shoot, aim, then reload! The other end! The other end!"
At the top level, the cracked window was guarded by one man.
The paper landed behind the barricade, among the various team leaders, al of whom tried to simultaniously dive for cover and push another agent forward to take the blast. Only once they were all lying in a heap did they reskuze what had been shot at them. The leaders crowded around to read it and began to scoff, eaching trying to scoff louder than the others.
"This will never stand up in court," said one of the agents after the din had died down. "The compound is under questionable ownership and even if it does belong to them, it was damaged in the course of a siege incited by them."
"Wow, you sound pretty smart."
"Yeah, I watch a lot of Judge Judy."
The aerial team noticed the window guard with a devious smile.
"Hurry it up," said the pilot, "I don't want any more holes in this baby."
The agents grinned at each other and each fired a Hellhound at the window.

The window guard stood at the top floor, looking the other way for Zinairian troops. He noticed something shiny on the floor, and bent down to examine it. At that moment, a grenade shattered the window behind him with a fiery explosion, sending glass fragments over his head that embedded themselves in the other window. The guard, startled by the blast, snatched the shiny object and was blown backwards by the other explosion, which cracked the other window and sent pieces of it flying out the other side.
The guard, largely unharmed, stood up and looked down. He saw the Zinairian troops gathering on the side opposite of which he was guarding. He noticed that strangely nobody on either side had died and walked down the stairs, shutting the 1m solid steel door behind him with a fingerprint lock. Downstairs, five of the embassy staff were dead, one wounded, and two guards were dead. The propaganda commissar was yelling at random people about their shooting.
"Shouting bang won't help. Just shoot."
Eventually, he was sick of the incompetence of the staff and just sat there, watching the battle ensue.
The two grenadiers high-fived each other then motioned for the helicopter to move in so they could hop through the window. One of the grenadiers cut his arm on the ragged glass. With nothing to bandage it, he had no choice but to let it stay untreated.
At the steel door, the grenadiers were flummoxed. If they battered it with Hellhounds, they may have been able to get through, but that seemed like one of the worst ways to go about it. (OOC: This is where watching Burn Notice comes in handy). One grenadier examined the wall around the door, trying to make sure it was weaker than the door itself (concrete/steel mix, I assume). The other examined the fingerprint scanner, seeing if the guard had left his print on the glass.
Along the barricade, a sniper by the name of Johnny "Paps" Jones, one day from retirement, was feeling the affects of his weak heart. One more "bang" yelled by the embassy guards and he was sure he would be a goner. Just when the danger seemed to have passed, the commissar went off on his lecture with "bang" as every other word. Poor Johnny's heart gave out instantly and he rolled off the roof of the Wolf he was atop and directly on to a rifleman below. The two rolled across the embassy garden and when they finally found the rifleman, he was face-down and already grown over with sod. (OOC: I think you were not so gently prompting me to kill some folks, so there you go).
To: The Stoklomolvi
From: The Foreign Ministry, Alfegos
Representatives of the government of Stoklomolvi have had their presence requested in a special meeting with representatives of the Alfegan Government, concerning the recent events regarding nationalisation of businesses in Stoklomolvi. The meeting will take place, as always, aboard the President's private Air Yacht. The craft will arrive in eighteen hours, and will position itself just outside Stoklomolvi territorial waters on Alfegan Airshipping Lane SKNF19.
OOC: You can do this in a seperate thread, as always, or in this. Plus Zinaire, I think there is a thread long overdue a bit of a kick...
OOC: Plus Zinaire, I think there is a thread long overdue a bit of a kick...
OOC: Err, yes, I'll do that later. I'm just about to go to bed after 24 hours toiling away.

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
[OOC: Meeting can take place here, if you wish.]
_____________At the Stoklomolvi Embassy Compound, the Commissar ordered an immediate closure of the Zinairian embassy. Seventeen KGB officers, armed with AK-47s and an RPK, marched down the hall to the office of the Zinairian diplomatic staff. Outside, several T-90s rumbled over the embassy plain and pointed their barrels at the Zinairian office, and hundreds of KGB officers swarmed the area. The KGB commissar inside pounded on the door to the Zinairian embassy.
"Open up within the next fifteen seconds or else we will take you down by force. Surrender and you will return to Zinaire with compensation for your embassy."
_____________The medical waste bin, hanging above the sink next to the mirror, collapsed when the grenadiers entered the room, sending used syringes, bandages, and pill bottles onto the floor. Interestingly, the medical waste was largely decontaminated by the waste bin, which sterilised all contents within. However, a few hardy Ebola viruses from one of the Stoklomolvi citizens treated at the embassy (said citizen has died) landed in the grenadier's wound. They died when the grenadier's uniform touched them.
Back at the steel gate, the keypad on the outside was not functioning, due to the shock of the grenades. However, the guard did leave a trace fingerprint on the glass. The wall around the door was quite strong, seeing as to how it was many metres thick and was built with the idea of a break in through the bathroom in mind. The guard below tripped on one of the steps and landed on the floor, inadvertently stepping on the panic button that would release the emergency airlock doors on the bathroom level. The steel doors shut where the windows were, scraping window fragments off one windowsill and shattering the other, sending glass flying through the room. The fluorescent light shut itself off. The alarm in the room did not sound, as the second grenade vaporised it completely.
Below, the guards and staff stopped firing. Instead, they shut every gunport and retreated to the fusion generator in the centre of the embassy. The propaganda commissar watched the commotion, sighed, and walked over to the generator. A generator the size of the one in the embassy would likely level the entire embassy, the garden, and everything around it for perhaps a little less than a kilometre. He set the power output to overload.
[OOC: Nah, my guys with MP40s would likely kill few of your men anyway. I was just showing the the helplessness of the staff. :P ]
Zinairian Embassy in Stoklomovi
Zinairians pride themselves on being knowing when to give up. One of the guards dropped his gun (OOC: who knows what kind I was issuing at that time) with a clatter and opened the door.
"We're all prepared to come peacefully."
Stoklomovi Embassy in Zinaire
The commander scowled as the Stoklomovi retreated.
"Something's definitely not right. They're going to do something stupid, I can tell. Okay everyone! SRTs take your vehicles and move back 20 meters! SWAT, you and your vehicle stay up here!"
The commander grabbed a bullhorn from one of the SRT vehicles before it pulled back and held it to his mouth.
"Can you hear me? My name is Special Agent Jonathan Logan (OOC: finally, a name!) and I'm in charge of this operation. I'm not sure what you fellows are doing in there, but I want you to stop and listen to me before doing anything rash. I'm not a professional negotiator, but we don't have time for that, some I'm just going to do my best. Now, I'm not sure what you thought, but we didn't come here to kill anyone or to hurt anyone. We came here to load you onto a plane and take you back home. I wasn't the one who made the decision to send you all home, and neither were any of there other fellows here. Now, I get why you're doing this, this is your embassy and you don't think we have any right to take it. And you know what? I kinda agree with you guys. You paid for it, i]you[/i] built it, so why do we get to take it away? So I'm going to make a deal with you, if every single one of you walks out of that embassy peacefully, we'll wire retribution payments to any account you want and then we'll put you on a plane and fly you directly back to Stoklomovi. I'll bet a lot of you miss your home. I'll bet you have some extended family back there or a favorite restaurant you'd like to go to. So, why don't you come out now and we can end this thing. I think we can all agree you put up a hell of a fight."

The KGB commissar could not help but grin.
"Smart decision. Let us hope that those fools at the Stoklomolvi embassy in Zinaire have done the same."
The commissar pointed into the room, and instantly all seventeen officers charged into the room, searching for any forms of explosive or weapons. The disarmed guard at the door was told by the commissar to tell the others to follow the officers.
_____________The staff, guards, and commissar inside all sat about, and the propaganda commissar scribbled his reply on a sheet of black paper with shiny chalk and ran over to one of the gunports. He stuffed it into his projectile launcher, opened the gunport, and shot it out. On the paper were the words,
"We will come out under the condition that you disarm yourselves. We await your response. We will give you ten minutes, or else the fusion reactor in this embassy will explode, annihilating you, your men, and this little patch of land."
The Commissar back at home would have shaken his head, sighed, and then berated the propaganda commissar for his recklessness.

All the guards dropped their weapons as the KGB officers stormed the embassy. Then, following the directions from the door guard, they followed the officers.

SA Logan ground his teeth. He knew they were doing something stupid, but not that stupid.
"Okay, we will place our weapons along the white line. I will tell you when we have finished and then you and your men can come out with your hands in the air."
Jonathan then contacted the two grenadiers inside the building.
"We have negotiated their surrender. We're going to surrender out weapons then get behind ballistic shields and wait for them to come out. If they come out shooting, you two are instructed to pick them off from the window. Otherwise, hold your fire no matter what. Do you have your sniper rifles?"
"Affirmative, we've got 'em on our backs."
Finally, the commander ordered this men to place all the weapons on their person along the white line– but not before removing their ammunition and clearing the chamber. Technically though, it wasn't all. Many of the officers were carrying small backup pistols (mostly 9mm Glock subcompacts) in one of their uniform's tactical pockets– out of sight.
Then, all of the agents took positions behind ballistic shields or armored vehicles.
"Okay," shouted Special Agent Logan, "all our weapons are along the line. Now, all of you, come out with your hands up and we can discuss retributions."

The president's private air yacht once again approached Stoklomolvi waters. Propelled by ferocious winds from a building tropical storm, it had been able to beat the previous time for the Stoklomolvi - Alfegos run, whilst still providing the typical level of comfort that came with the Olympia-class craft. The president had recently had it refitted, out of his own wallet, to turn it from a private luxury craft to a more business-oriented craft. The conference room had been re-equipped with the latest technology, and extra quarters had been provided for any guests: whilst quite small, they were equipped sumptuously.
Right now, the president sat in the glass bridge, watching a ship in the distance. It was early evening again - just like the last time he had been here. This time, there was even more of a serious tone to the visit. He listened as the pilot hailed the Stoklomolvi authorities, giving clearance for the representative helicopter to board the airship. The system for the hanger had been changed: where as before a crane had been used to capture the craft from the sky, it was now mounted fully at the rear, to allow for two helicopters now to fly in. One of the men dozing in the corner suddenly stood up as the pilot nudged him; the head steward, in charge of all affairs relating to the airship. He would be making sure the Stoklomolvi men had all the comforts they needed to ensure the wheels of diplomacy turned smoothly.
He himself followed them through the tiny crew quarters, watching as the two Aeromarine "Golden Wing" guards followed him out. They had been a new addition: security concerns meant they were to be carried at all times. And now even a small AA platform had been mounted in the helicopter hanger, a pair of small missile launching tubes. He himself sat down in the conference room, awaiting the men's arrival. Already waiting were the Financial Minister and Foreign Minister, both with their briefs ready for the Stoklomolvi party.

The KGB officers confiscated the weapons and threw them out the window, where they shattered with the four-storey fall onto concrete floor. The Zinairian men were lead outside the embassy, where they were stuffed into a waiting truck. From there, they were taken to the huge Vladistov International Airport. The aircraft scheduled to take them back to Zinaire was a large Boeing 747, and the Zinairians were given first class seats. The trip would take a whopping seven months, since the distance was so long. Before the depart, the KGB commissar asked one of the Zinairians a question.
"Are you sure you wish to leave to Zinaire? You may stay at the Dominion Hotel for however long you wish, free of charge. The trip will be seven months from here to Zinaire by air, though from here to the hotel will be ten minutes by car."
_____________At the Stoklomolvi embassy in Zinaire, the Stoklomolvi staff and guards each filed out of one of the steel gates leading in. Slowly, and unarmed, the men and women trudged towards the white line. The propaganda commissar had one hand up and the other carrying a white flag. He grit his teeth at the notion of surrender, but at home he would have the opportunity to commit suicide if he wished.
_____________A fusion powered jet craft rocketed over the barren, icy Stoklomolvi coast at supersonic speeds. Down at the ground, the temperature was close to negative 30 degrees Celsius and was steadily decreasing. At the altitude of the jet, the temperature was near negative 60. Inside, however, the diplomat was warm and preparing for a very rough landing. Having travelled for many, many hours, the diplomat was well-rested and was growing restless. The jet slowed from over 1300 km/h to a much slower speed of 160 km/h as the mountains gave the sign that the coast was near. Over the next hour, the speed decreased, and the coast was finally spotted. The diplomat boarded his launch pod. The jet released the launch pod two seconds before being directly over the ship, and the pod was shot out of the craft as the jet started its turn about face to return to a nearby airbase, only two hours away.
The diplomat, rapidly descending, noticed the large airship floating over Stoklomolvi and ejected when he was close to the hanger bay. Unfortunately for him, he forgot his parachute, and went sprawling onto the airship and rolled over a number of times. Luckily, his suit was not damaged, and he stood up, brushed himself off, and looked for the meeting hall.
(OOC - Sorry if I wasn't clear: the Air Yacht is in fact an airship.)

[OOC: Damn. I'll just adjust it so that the diplomat landed in the hanger bay or something. :P]
(OOC: Interesting way of boarding... )
The two aeromarines quickly snapped to attention when the man came rolling in: they had been expecting some form of spectacular entry, but not as the diplomat had just come in. Hurrying over, they saluted to the man before escorting him across the plastic surface of the hanger. Moving past the President's helicopter, they passed through a large aluminium door set into the side of the plastic hanger walls, instantly moving into luxurious surroundings. The entrance passageway led past a spiral staircase set to one side to a second door. This time, the door was made from dark bullet wood, carved into the shape of the Alfegan seal. The walls were panelled with a similar wood, similar designs carved into the wood. The flooring was made from a thick padded fabric dyed blue. Lights in the ceiling cast a surprisingly realistic daylight glow onto the surroundings as the two guards opened the door to the conference room, allowing the diplomat to pass through.
The room was set against one side of the airship, and had an extreme sense of business to it. Small palm trees lay in the corners, metal pots secured firmly to the walls. The walls in here, where they were, were made from a dark grey plastic with an orange strip running around the entire room. Lighting came from small lights set in the ceiling, but also through the floor: the entire floor was made from dark tinted glass panes, held in place by large beams. This pattern was repeated up on the side wall, which also let in light from the evening sun. Whilst it would not seem it, this room was completely secure from outside espionage: the plastic panels concealed a thick foam dampening sheet surrounded by a copper mesh. The windows themselves also concealed such a mesh, relying on their triple glazing to absorb all traces of the sounds from within the room.
In the centre of the room, a large metal table was surrounded by eight similarly designed chairs, all made from the same shining metal with leather padding. The chairs were, noticeably, locked into small grooves in the glass floor, as was the table. The table itself held a number of rectangular shapes on its glass surface leading down to the solid metal base, concealing all manner of items. At each position, another small panel concealed uplinks to the ship's communications systems as well as controls for numerous things, in both English and Fegosian.
The president and his two ministers rose as the man entered the room, the two aeromarines leaving the room to stand guard outside the two doors. The president smiled, walking around the table to greet the diplomat.
"Good evening, sir. I am President Al'iro Darrel of the People's Nation of Alfegos. These two are my financial minister, and my foreign minister. Please, take a seat. If there is anything you require, feel free to ask."
The President indicated a chair for the diplomat to sit in, before sitting back in his own place.
"Now, as you can guess, this meeting is due to the recent change in your nation's policy to business: rather, the nationalisation of all Stoklomolvi businesses. We have a few pressing questions we need to ask as to ascert our two nation's future relations. But first, so that we can hear it from the horse's mouth, as it were: can you explain to us everything about this nationalisation?"

The diplomat followed the guards to the president's chambers, and along the way noticed the comfortable nature of the meeting area and the ship itself. A thought popped into his head; if the president and his minister were aboard this airship, then that would mean that any attack by Route1 or LION or even the Hegemony would place them in danger. He brushed the thought away, and clicked his pen in his pocket. Inside one of his eyes a camera turned on.
Back at the Kremlin in Vladistov, Stoklomolvi, the Commissar focused on a small screen that displayed the room in which the Fegosian men were sitting. From home, and comfortably in his chair, the Commissar would indirectly affect the meeting through the implants in the diplomat's brain.
In the airship, the diplomat took the seat that the president directed to. He pulled his briefcase up and set it on the table before continuing. After the president asked his question, he opened his briefcase and took out a laptop computer. A brief moment passed as the shiny black computer turned on, and the room was illuminated with an odd red light that contrasted starkly with the dark plastic walls and orange band. The diplomat then spoke. Interestingly enough, his face looked remarkably similar to the Commissar's when he began.
"It was in 1854 that the Kingdom of Stoklomolvi abandoned its monarchy to become a communist state. That year, the monarch decided to destroy the corrupt parliament and huge corporations that ran rampant through the country. The peasants did not care, and in fact embraced the change. The nobles, however, were not pleased.
"In 1867, a civil war broke out, and another republic of Stoklomolvi was established. Not surprisingly, two months later a new civil war broke out, and the old empire was in place. The communist changes stuck with the peasants, and in 1917 another coup took place, creating the modern Communist Dominion of Stoklomolvi. 'Twas that year in which the nobles and officers were largely purged due to a national revolution, and the surviving nobles fled to the small island of Taiwan.
"Communist and socialist reforms were implemented virtually daily by the new Commissar. He outlawed private business, seeing as to how there already almost none in the country, and reduced poverty and unemployment to an astonishingly low 2%. Nobody had a problem with it. In 1960, however, it all changed.
"Immigrants from many of the poorer southern nations, many fragmented countries spanning many nations, flooded Stoklomolvi, and this inflated the already huge population growth rate. These immigrants, not knowing of the Stoklomolvi laws in place, opened many small shops selling trinkets and daily goods for almost nothing, costing the government billions of stoklomovs yearly. Also, these immigrants were largely illiterate, and ordered vast quantities of useless goods such as barrels of trinitrotoluene. These acts costed the government yet even more money, and eventually tens of trillions of dollars were wasted by the immigrants alone.
"This number is larger than the national GDP of many smaller nations today, and it was only now that the Commissar decided to act on it. With the new decree, he shut down all businesses, which were deemed illegal ever since the laws were passed in the early 1900s. The only exceptions were businesses in arms manufacturing, which at its peak formed 75% of the Stoklomolvi economy. Several large corporations, such as Look Inc. the Griffincrest Corporation, and others made inroads into the Stoklomolvi economy, costing the government billions in competition. And that, my good friends from Alfegos, is the official government explanation. Ask any questions you wish."
"Thank you sir." The president nodded, as one of the aeromarines entered the room and whispered in his ear.
"As you can guess, the entire room is shielded from surveillance from outside via the structures concealed within the doors and walls. No signals can enter this room without passing through the cables. And no signals can exit the room easily, without some induction being detected in the shielding. For security's sake, could you please turn off any transmitting devices you have on your person, such as mobile phones or laptop wireless cards? Thank you very much."
He nodded, smiling, before continuing.
"The nationalisation of industry in Stoklomolvi has affected some Alfegan corporations that were based there, to the point of them filing a complaint with the Department for Business. We however provided to them a similar explanation as you have just provided, which I fully agree with from your government's point of view.
Whilst the corporations can move elsewhere, we wish to know the impact this will have on trading."
Flicking a switch on a hidden control panel, the windows of the wall and floor instantly became opaque. The lights in the ceiling slowly dimmed as the centre of the table opened up, revealing a large piece of glass approximately 1m^3. Flashes of red light flickered across its inside, before an image formed: a three-dimensional map of Stoklomolvi, multiple red, blue and orange lines passing over it.
"This holographic image shows major Alfegan trading routes in the Stoklomolvi territorial area. If trade is affected severely with Stoklomolvi, then the red routes will have to shut down completely and the orange routes will become less economical, to the point of traffic decreasing by over 40%. The knock on effect will be any other nations on the Stoklomolvi routes taking routes passing over more economical routes, further decreasing trade to Stoklomolvi from Alfegos.
Will this affect trade with the People's Nation of Alfegos?"
Stoklomolvi
02-08-2008, 12:37
The Commissar was indeed receiving from disturbances in his viewing. He heard half of the diplomat's speech, but it was filled with static. The other half had so much static that he could barely hear anything, much less see anything. The diplomat was getting affected by the static as well, but once the president informed him of the interruptions due to the shielding he clicked his pen. At the Kremlin, a few words appeared on the screen: Connection terminated. The Commissar sighed, and went back to his paperwork. Back at the airship, the diplomat was carefully studying the map.
"You see, there are some of these routes that pass through dangerous areas as deemed by the government. Through these areas, rebels from Siberian Natives often raid convoys and caravans, disrupting local and international trade."
The diplomat pointed to an area in the centre of Stoklomolvi.
"The rebels are numerous, and gain numbers daily. Even foreign citizens defect to their cause. The only thing stopping them from a full revolution and overthrow of the government is the distance they must travel to get anywhere. To get here from Vladistov, for instance, took me two days travelling at over the speed of sound. Imagine walking.
"The nationalisation of industry will not affect foreign trade as much as it will affect intercontinental and domestic trade. Foreign corporations and citizens, however, may have suffered loss of property and will eventually be reimbursed in full. We are currently working on the effort to secure the 40,000 km long border with the what we call 'Stoklomolvi Princely States" to the south, as well as the deportation of illegal immigrants. It's harsh, but it's either we let them stay and we suffer, or we deport and slash or kill them to reduce the already profound impact on our food, water, and electricity consumption and garbage output. If you remember the shanty town outside Vladistov in 2007, the immigrants living there have all been forced to their home countries or executed by request. It is truly harsh. No country will accept them, either. They're too unskilled, unintelligent, and useless, sadly. At any rate, no, your trade will largely be unaffected excluding the two rates here, which go through Siberian Native occupied land."
He showed pictures of poor citizens, some with white skin, others with brown, a few with black.
"Indeed, I am glad to hear reassurance on this matter. However, with these two routes, I do have concerns. The primary concern is that of why any routes will be forcibly closed. From what I hear, the only raids ever conducted on these two routes, ASKAF11 and ASKNI09, have been during refuelling operations offshore. Since most airships using this route have almost full fuel from refuelling in Stoklomolvi or in any preceding nations, the problem has been nearly eradicated. Will the government be forcibly closing these routes?
I do, however, believe the policy of execution for those who are not taken are too harsh. At least you should try using them for some use, such as heavy unskilled labour in mines and the like. Even if we have different views on governmental policies, I am sure you agree such a practice is inhumane."
The president nodded, before changing the holographic display. The main map was shunted into a corner, to be replaced by a trade graph.
"As it stands, we export to Stoklomolvi large quantities of tropical produce from our nation, mostly via refrigerated airship or aircraft. Whilst the government will not be stopping trade as a result of this action, will they be offering any incentives to the companies currently trading with Stoklomolvi to keep trade up? As you can see from the graph, approximately 40% of non-Novan surplus is sent to Stoklomolvi each year: almost $800 million in value."
Stoklomolvi
The various embassy personnel, all of whom were wearing heavy coats, looked at each other.
"No, I think we want to go home. It's awfully cold here."
Zinaire
As the surrendering embassy personnel came out, the national agents moved in, the men with shields on point.
"Everyone!" Barked SA Logan, "Put your hands on the embassy wall, spread your legs!"
Half the ZNPD agents then proceeded to pat them down while the other half watched to make sure none of the numerous prisoners tried to make a last stand.
SA Logan spoke into his radio, "The siege is over, bring the bus around."
Soon, a large prison bus pulled up onto the embassy grounds, crushing part of the garden.
"Damn it." He muttered. "I should have told him we were going to pay reparations."
Meanwhile, the Stoklomolvi were being placed into PlastiCuffs and led into the bus. The commissar was left outside, unrestrained.
"I apologize for the restraints," said SA Logan, "but there's no other way we could control so many people. First, is there anyone inside who's dead or needs medical attention? And second, how much do we owe you?"
Stoklomolvi
02-08-2008, 15:10
The diplomat studied the map and situation, and then thought for a moment. He then decided to act as the Commissar had briefed him to do.
"The Stoklomolvi government shall never close trade routes without a very good reason. Trade makes up a great portion of our economy. Indeed, each year nearly 3,000,000,000,000 Universal Standard Dollars are generated in income from trade. And do not forget, Stoklomolvi also imports trillions of dollars in goods.
"The execution policy was indeed very harsh. However, the Commissar decided that he has good reason to execute the immigrants if they do not leave. The immigrants, being illegal, are not supposed to be there in the first place, and most are malnourished and weak. They are not fit for working in mines, for they will die most miserable and suffering deaths. Perhaps I can persuade the Commissar to change his policy on this."
As the graph switched, the diplomat listened to the president. After a moment of thought, the diplomat spoke.
"As I already said, trade makes up a huge portion of the Stoklomolvi economy. To shut it down would be suicide. So, in order to boost international trade, Stoklomolvi can provide an incentive for Fegosian companies. The company that provides Stoklomolvi with the most product of its kind will receive a $500 million grant. If the company is small, this can be a major boost. This reward may increase as the companies grow larger, as to remain an incentive. I know the Commissar will agree on my reasoning, for he is a reasonable person."
_____________The commissar shook his head.
"So be it. Your plane will be SZ-15, terminal A735B22. Boarding gate number 324. The train will take you there."
The commissar handed each of them a train ticket. On each was written the letters, SSRI, or Stoklomolvi Subsidised Rail International. A bunch of information was scribbled on the tickets in the Stoklomolvi language, and the commissar sent them on their way. The train would take a good five minutes to reach the terminals.
_____________The propaganda commissar shook his head and sighed. he pointed and shook his finger at the embassy.
"Six dead men, two dead women. One of the men was wounded in the conflict, and he's over there, staggering by the bus."
The embassy man, who was indeed staggering, was leaning on the bus, blood oozing from a heavy wound in the shoulder from a sniper round. His hand clutched the wound, which had already soaked the clothing around it with blood. The propaganda commissar was counting in his head.
"Let us see...reparations to the families of the dead, eight families in all, yes, the concrete and steel wall, which costed a lot, the embassy which was lightly damaged, yup, the gardens, the road, the gate, the expensive genuine grass, two of the trees next to the embassy, uh, hm. The total cost amounts to $138,768,540. That's not counting the damage inflicted by the siege itself; that is, the amount of ammunition lost, et cetera. $120 million of that comes from just the wall. Those masons and materials were mighty expensive."
The Commissar tipped his hat.
"Excellent." The president turned to the Financial Minister, who nodded before tapping in the details into a palmtop computer.
"Indeed, the Commissar is a most reasonable figure. So, continuing. You said about immigrants from other nations being evicted. Does this mean an ethnic purge on all non-Stoklomolvi citizens? Will Alfegan immigrant workers be affected by this. Because, if I can access the figures..."
The holographic screen produced a new web page window, two dimensional. After quickly flicking through a few pages bearing the Alfegan seal, he arrived at a large table.
"I do believe there are currently 16 500 Alfegan immigrants in your nation, of whom only 20% have applied for official citizenship both single or duel. Will those other 80% be sent back to Alfegos, or will they be brutalised by your nation's police force?"
Stoklomolvi

The diplomat shook his head immediately.
"Oh, no no. The only immigrants being targeted are those from the so-called 'Stoklomolvi Princely States', which are extremely, run-down, poor nations that have been doing nothing but soaking up humanitarian funds. Greedy landlords and barons keep stealing all of the money, and we were planning on an invasion to subjugate the whole peninsula. The Alfegan, my apologies, immigrants will be unaffected. However, we do encourage them to either register and become citizens or leave. Staying illegal brings no benefits."
"Oh no, I wasn't suggesting you should be overtly lenient to illegal immigrants. But still, we will reissue reminders to those staying either illegally or on extended permits.
As to these 'Stoklomolvi Princely States' - can you explain to us a bit more about them? As far as we know, we currently have no relations with them, so wish to enquire as to the potential profit from such an area. Is there, for example, extensive mineral deposits?"

After recent events, The Incorporated States of Miskonia offers aid to Stoklomolvi.
SA Logan called for ambulances on his radio. They arrived seconds later as some had been dispatched with the bus. Several agents peeled off to direct the paramedics.
Then SA Logan turned his attention back to the commissar, knocking the hat out of his hand and pushing him against the wall. He patted him down then pulled a pair of metal handcuffs off his belt and cuffed the commissar's hands behind his back. SA Logan pulled him off the wall roughly.
"You're being placed into diplomatic custody as permitted by the embassy programme charter. You are charged with terrorism, forcible prevention of police duties, assaulting a national agent with a deadly weapon, murder in the first degree and two counts of murder of a national officer in the first degree. In case it wasn't clear, you're being charged with all crimes committed by guards and embassy personnel under your command. We will be contacting your home government and requesting that they waive your diplomatic immunity. In case you were wondering, we have the death penalty in Zinaire and I hear lethal injections hurt a lot more than nuclear blasts."
SA Logan led the commissar to the nearest special response vehicle and put him in the back seat, leaving the door open so they could keep an eye on him.
"Somebody get the FA on the phone and have them send someone down here pronto."

Firstly, we would like to thank you for the humane treatment of our embassy staff during their deportation. We only wish that your staff had taken us up on the offer of equal comfort and speed.
We trust you have received word that the embassy siege is over. According to your personnel, eight personnel were killed and one more was injured. The injured man is currently being treated and, in the event that he survives, he will be flown home with both a medical and a police escort. Your other living personnel– with the exception of one– are boarding a plane home as this memorandum is being written and the bodies of the fallen personnel will be repatriated as soon as possible along with reparations to the families of the dead.
We mainly wish to discuss the one man who is neither dead, injured or on a plane home. This man is the propaganda commissar who orchestrated the entire resistance and ultimately threatened to detonate the embassy's nuclear reactor. I am sure you understand the seriousness of the situation and we hope you will understand the actions we took. Currently, the commissar is being held in diplomatic custody (as permitted by the embassy program charter) and is charged with various crimes, the most serious being terrorism and three counts of murder (two being national agents). We sincerely hope you will waive this man's diplomatic immunity and let us prosecute him to the full extent of Zinairian law. If you will not, we understand and respect your decision, especially under the circumstances, and we will put him on the next plane to Stoklomolvi. Should this be the action you wish us to take, we sincerely hope you will prosecute him in your nation for his extremely serious crimes and for the disgrace he brought to your otherwise august diplomatic programme.
The Zinairian Foreign Authority does not divulge classified information, information irrelevant to the matter at hand and with the potential to negatively affect the situation or information related to another government entity without explicit permission to do so. If you believe you have received information in error, please report it immediately.

[OOC: Map may be found by going to the Link Repositorium in my signature, going to the newest factbook version, and looking at the map on the right side of the page. Anything not drawn is considered to look like normal Asia; India and Indochina are to the south, etc. The princely states look sort of like India during British rule; thousands of little states sitting about, though in this version there are many more.]
The diplomat thought for a moment. Then, he spoke.
"The Stoklomolvi Princely States, as we call them, are thousands of tiny nations each around the size of, hm, Stoklomolvi France or Stoklomolvi England [OOC: France and Great Britain]. They are extremely poor, but the population is also extremely dense. One of the states has a population of 450 million, yet has a total GDP of something around $300 billion. We sometimes don't even know what is going on down there.
"However, we do know that the Stoklomolvi Princely States contain vast quantities of resources, guarded by the several billion people living down there. For all we know, the total population of the states is greater than that of Stoklomolvi itself. There is no census down there. At any rate, we discovered huge uranium deposits, oil patches, tropical fruit plantations, strange animals and plants never before seen, and even huge craters filled with diamonds as far as you can see.
"Naturally, this is a prize that anyone would want. Why, everyone asks, haven't we invaded? The only reason and answer to that, my friend, is the fact that there are billions living there. Billions of poor peasants means billions of militiamen and potential rebels. In addition, the sheer size of the land would be impossible to subjugate; the only reason Stoklomolvi encompasses such a large area is because of its barrenness and inability to sustain people in large areas of it. For instance, the coast you saw on the way here was made out of ice and covered with permafrost. The plain and mountains, more ice and snow. It's like a frozen wasteland. The princely states, on the other hand, are nothing but jungle and grassland. It is the perfect place for farming."

Due to the extreme distance between Zinaire and Stoklomolvi, your men will take seven months to arrive. We do, however, thank you for your logical and reasonable move to provide reparations for the dead embassy staff and guards. The men from Zinaire in Stoklomolvi did have some expensive belongings, and the belongings have been stowed in cargo and will arrive with your staff. We do hope that relations may open in the future.
On the note of the propaganda commissar, we realise that he has been a dangerous man. While we would prefer to "deal with him" ourselves, we can leave him in Zinaire without the diplomatic immunity we have granted him for you to "deal with". Perhaps you would find it more fun if you "prosecuted" and "punished" him appropriately.

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
The message was sent after a few revisions.
At the embassy itself, the propaganda commissar was being detained. When he heard about getting executed, he merely laughed.
"Hah, you think you can execute me? I assume you have forgotten that the fusion reactor is still on overload and is due to explode in around two minutes. Only I know the passkey, and if you kill me, you can expect it to reach its inevitable conclusion. If you run, you won't get far enough."
He laughed again.
"Indeed, sir. Now, that leads us on to an interesting question: how would the position of the Stoklomolvi Princely States stand in regards to your liberation of them if there was, say, extra support for the Stoklomolvi forces in entering this area? Since, as you said, this area is extremely backwards, it would easily be possible for a more advanced culture to attract them towards supporting a Stoklomolvi takeover. Of course, governing of those areas need not be done directly, but by proxy. You could select those who show characteristics advantageous to Stoklomolvi to be the elite who can immigrate, whilst the others retain their current position.
But I am being too advanced. Pray, would anyone higher in your government be available to discuss this? You have us extremely interested in these regards."
Stoklomolvi
03-08-2008, 11:04
"The Stoklomolvi Princely States, while are backwards, will probably not fall to an invasion. The sheer manpower of each state is overpowering. Nationalism will boil and fume if we ever even do occupy them, though we may take advantage of the fact that they fight each other. Say, if Stoklomolvi plans an invasion of one of these states, perhaps Alfegos among other allies can be contacted to aid the invasion? Each state that aids us will receive rights to a section of the resources."
The diplomat then thought about a further meeting between the national leaders.
"The Commissar himself should be available for a meeting as soon as the meeting is planned. If you contact him, he should respond. A fusion transport located two hours away would arrive to pick all of us up and take us to Vladistov, or any meeting place of your choice. Even here, if you wish."
"I would prefer for the meeting to be here. If you can contact the appropriate authorities to make a helicopter ready for him, that way we will be able to commence the meeting. Are there any things you wish to discuss?"
The aeromarine guarding the second door came back in. The president whispered in his ear, before turning back.
"You'll feel the airship accelerating. We've currently been on reverse thrust to keep our position steady, and now we'll be moving to full forward thrust towards the capital. Hopefully we will be able to cut some time off the journey. In the meantime, would you like any refreshments at all?"
The airship slowly rocked forwards as the engines changed power setting. To the rear of the airship, the two Prevanian Aerworks 4000Y Specials moved from a dim hum to a roar as the methane fuel began coursing through them. Inside, as the president turned back to the diplomat, not even that could be heard through the insulated walls and glass.
Stoklomolvi
03-08-2008, 13:29
"Nothing truly needs to be discussed at the moment. One thing about the nationalisations, though, is that eventually we will allow private enterprise. Just at the moment, we are taking precautions. Do not worry about that."
He shifted in his chair as the airship moved. It was like being on a real ship, only in the air.
"Refreshments? Hm...how about a glass of Château Latour, any year? Oh, another thing, I can't seem to access anything from here. Perhaps it is the shielding...I think that you need to contact the Commissar."
"If you use the encrypted wire connection, you should be able to contact the commissar. The sockets are provided in the table by your position, underneath one of the panels. It's a standard Ethernet connector socket.
But I'm glad that you can reassure me of Stoklomolvi's commitment to an important ally."
The Head Steward arrived, carrying with him four crystal wine glasses and a large wine bottle. Each one had been laser-engraved, with the seal of Alfegos formed in tiny bubbles inside the thin crystal. The steams themselves were carved in the shape of vines wrapping around the top cup. The man lifted the bottle to show the label.
"The only Latour we have aboard the airship is this bottle: 1963 vintage. A good year."
He deftly uncorked the bottle, before slowly pouring the four glasses full. He left the bottle of wine on the table surface in a small gimbelled mount, before leaving the room.
"The mount is there in case we hit any wind, and end up shaking about. We don't wish to waste such a good wine."
Stoklomolvi
03-08-2008, 14:20
The diplomat nodded, grinned, and searched for the wire in his briefcase. After rummaging for a moment, he found the cable, which was rather hard to miss though still obscured in the mess of items in his case. He plugged it into the computer and then into the port, and had a short conversation with the Commissar. As he typed, he sipped from his glass of Latour, which tasted better than most of the wines he had tasted for some reason.
"The Commissar has agreed to meet with us! He says that he is already getting his overcoat and will arrive in a little more than a day. The annoying wait is due to the sheer distance, not due to delay. Perhaps if we steam forward, we can meet him earlier? By the way, this Latour tastes excellent."
"Thank you. As the steward said, '62 was a good year for Latour. As you said though, distance is a problem with your nation. Luckily, I believe we have a favourable tail wind.
If you have no more questions to ask, there are spare guest quarters aboard the airship. They aren't exactly spacious, but they should provide adequate comfort."
The president smiled as he felt a sudden feeling of heaviness: the airship was rising to make the most of the high altitude wind speeds. Hopefully they'd break another record for speed.
Stoklomolvi
04-08-2008, 04:10
"Favourable tailwind for us, hm? Excellent. Well, no more questiosn to be asked or answered at the moment, so I suppose I will retire to my quarters. I thank you all very much for such hospitality."
He bowed, and exited the room. The Commissar would arrive in a day, at current speeds.
"Everyone!" Shouted SA Logan, "move out now! We have a live nuclear device and I want everyone but me and this fellow out of here and out of the blast radius pronto. Move!"
At the commander's orders, even the two agents inside the embassy jumped into the nearest vehicle and sped away from the site.
SA Logan grabbed the commissar by the shirt and pulled him forward.
"You're government has not only sold you out, waiving your diplomatic protection, but they gave us the go-ahead to really make you suffer. But you know what? We're not going to. We're doing this by the book– you will be tried, you will be sentenced and you will be executed in humane manner. Now who you you want to punish? The people who are willing to give you what you really want, the easy way out, or the people that you devoted your life to and now are stabbing you in the back."
SA Logan uncuffed the commissar and led him towards the reactor.
"I want you to deactivate this thing, then we can talk in earnest. If you still want to do something stupid, I'll give you my gun and you can do something that won't affect a lot of innocent people.
(OOC: Seven months? Come on. By my calculations, that's 2.5 million miles. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't bother with nations over two million miles away, they could hardly even bring in a naval force within one crew's lifetime. Your geography is totally inconsistent with how the game is usually played, so let's say something more reasonable. Somewhere between 18 and 30 hours.)

[OOC: It takes the average Boeing 747 at cruising speed 53 hours to get from one end of Stoklomolvi to the other, and that's almost at the speed of sound. 895 km/h to get across 48,000 km. To get across the region would take even longer. And considering that my region is at the far eastern end of the entire world, assuming that the eastern end and everything else is nothing but ocean, it would take a very long time indeed. For simplicity, let us place the time at 100 hours.]
The commissar laughed maniacally.
"Watch as your pathetic citizens run from the reactor. No one will survive. The two-minute wait will be just long enough to kill you, your men, and everyone in the vicinity while spreading radioactive waste for years to come."
When he heard that the government turned on him, he feigned sadness.
"Oh, they sold me out, eh? Figures."
But then, he knew it would happen, so he laughed again.
"I'll never see them away anyway!"
Inside the embassy, the timer was ticking away. 20 seconds. 10 seconds. The commissar started typing in the passkey. 5 seconds. He had five figures left. 1 second.
[OOC: You decide if it explodes or not. I'm in your nation.]
With two digits left to type, the timer reached zero. Everything was silent for a moment, then SA Logan let out a sigh of relief as everything continued to be quiet and explosion-free.
"Ha! Damn communists can't build anything right. Damn things can't even fail when you want them to."
Still hopped up on adrenaline and snickering at his good fortune, SA Logan pulled the commissar away from the reactor and placed him back in handcuffs.
"The area appears to be clear, but hold off on entering. Can I get someone qualified to dispose of a nuclear reactor out here?"
While he waited for the disposal team to arrive, SA Logan took a PlastiCuff from his belt and fastened the commissar to a handrail.
Stoklomolvi
04-08-2008, 06:40
The commissar grinned.
"Boom!"
The fusion reactor did explode as he said that, though it was not nearly as spectacular or large as it would have had the overload not be prevented by the automatic system. Instead, a fireball obliterated the embassy, and then exploded into a mushroom cloud that burned all of the grass and trees in the area. Mud and dirt was flung into the air, and the commissar was vaporised instantly. Radiation was flung in all direction, virtually soaking the earth with it. Amazingly, only a small area around the previously walled embassy was actually damaged; all other damage was within the embassy.
[OOC: If the above is unacceptable, then use the below instead. The above is shiny, though!]
The commissar grinned.
"Boom!"
Nothing happened for a moment. However, soon after that the commissar was dead. A cyanide capsule fell out of his mouth, previously embedded near his molars. He had cracked it, killing himself instantly.
The president escorted the diplomat to his quarters. First passing through the second door, he made his way along the corridor past three storage rooms and the galley, before reaching a staircase at the start of the crew area. Clambering up the tight spiral staircase, he quickly reached the upper deck. Up here, there was just a single, long corridor, each room with a number.
"You will be staying in Room 4, just down here."
Opposite the room's heavy wooden door, a second similar door bore the plaque denoting it to be the Communications Centre, three keyholes visible on the door.
"I trust you won't go out of bounds on the ship. You can go to the lounge at the far end of the airship, or come down and visit the crew if you so wish. The promenade deck can be reached through the airship lounge."
The president unlocked the man's door with a keycard through a hidden slot in the door, pushing the well-oiled door open to reveal the man's room. A small passageway led past a bathroom unit into the main area: a bed with Egyptian cotton sheets offset against the other wall, with a small desk nearby. A television screen was set into the opposite wall, with a small unit holding a minibar and the wardrobe underneath. The entirety of one wall was, again, glass windows, with a small control panel set into the bedside table holding the glass controls. As the president walked in, the lights automatically turned on, as a cool breeze began flowing from seemingly nowhere in the blue colour theme of the room.
"All the controls are located in your bedside table. The desk contains uplinks to the airship's intranet and to the internet, as well as a small built-in computer. The television is run on Sunrise Plus, so has access to pretty much every single major channel in the world. If you need anything at all, a steward will come to assist you. I wish you well aboard my airship."
The president smiled, before leaving the room.

The diplomat bowed and thanked the president before sitting on the bed and taking off his shoes. Never before had he received such luxury on a diplomatic trip. He sighed, lied back on the bed, and stared at the ceiling for a few moments before getting up and walking over to the desk. He started up the computer, and started typing a message to the Commissar.
Aboard the fusion craft, the Commissar sat in front of his desk, where he typed on his own computer. He looked through the glass floor and saw nothing but streaks, since the craft was speeding so quickly. Why did they even install this thing in the first place? It's a security and stability hazard and I can't see anything anyway. As if to counteract his statement, the next moment he saw a flurry of lights and black clouds, and dirt and dust everywhere. Below, the Siberian Natives and Stoklomolvi were warring again, lighting the sky with explosives. The Commissar's craft then started speeding up to hypersonic, reducing the travel time to three hours.
Back at the airship, the diplomat was conversing with the Commissar, though after a while there was little to discuss and the diplomat started searching for world maps. Unfortunately for him, all of the maps were upwards of several terabytes, being the work of government ministries around the world collaborating to create a map that was several trillion pixels by several trillion more pixels. He sighed, and sat on his bed again. He turned on the television, and started watching random news channels from around the globe. There was one detailing some random micronation warring another empty nation for oil, another one detailing the same micronation warring a different nation for uranium, one showing the Stoklomolvi embassy in Zinaire, another one showing the super hyper-inflation in some random country, some war involving LION and Hegemony, random governments in Novus Universitas undergoing temporary collapse, one explaining the details behind a recent terrorist takeover of an Alfegan airship, a very tense peace meeting of Derbaria and Blacktopia, and the last one depicting him in his room. He leapt back in shock, but then he realised it was his reflection due to his accidental turning off of the television. He turned it back on and started channel surfing again.
------------------------------
After a two and a half hour wait the Commissar saw the airship from his starboard window, which could magnify distant objects. The craft itself, which was controlled by an artificial intelligence unit, started slowing down as it neared the airship. There were only 3,490 kilometres left in the trip. Another twenty minutes and the Commissar would arive.
------------------------------
Fifteen minutes later the Commissar stood up and walked over to one of the forward windows. There, he could see the hanger bay. The AI hailed the airship and asked for permission to land via electronic message. The Commissar, accompanied by the foreign commissar, director of the KGB, and the finance commissar, sat around in anticipation.

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
As the aircraft approached and was picked up, the airship slowed to a near halt as the pilot synchronised the motion of the airship with that of the jet liner.
"This is AAF-01, permission to land granted. Please drop speed to sixty kilometres an hour on final approach, and prepare for a VTOL landing."
The airship slowed down to sixty kilometres an hour, engines dying down as the airship changed speed with the aid of small exterior flaps. As the two vehicles closed in on each other, the pilot changed controls to automatic as the hanger bay door was slid open. The president hit a small switch as the airship slowed down, typing a message in his laptop that quickly found its way across through the local network to the diplomat's computer.
The Commissar's vehicle will be arriving shortly. Please make your way back down to the conference room.
Stoklomolvi
05-08-2008, 13:54
The AI confirmed the landing protocol, and slowed down to enter the hangar. The Commissar and the others sat around the tables inside the craft, and awaited for the landing. Using the vertical thrusters, the craft landed in the bay, and soon afterwards the door opened sideways and released a small set of steps. The Commissar stepped out, sabre in the hilt, and breathed the air. It was very cold. The foreign commissar, wearing an overcoat, jumped out, clapped and rubbed his hands together, and grinned. The finance and KGB commissars also stepped out, albeit less noticeably.
Meanwhile, the diplomat received the message and instantly jumped up. Having sat around for hours he was rather restless. He rammed his feet into his shoes and ran out the door, slowing to a walk once he saw anybody.
The guards again escorted the newly arrived party to the conference room, the president waiting. One of the seats was taken by the foreign minister, whilst the desk either side of the president was taken up by two glass rods similar to the holographic screen in the centre of the table, each with a camera mounted on.
"Good evening, fellow leaders of Stoklomolvi. Please take a seat. Is there anything I can get for you?"
Inside the room, the heating meant it was at a comfortable 20 degree celcius: much lower than normal, since the president and his crew were used to tropical climates. Once the group were all seated, the glass units turned on, flickering before revealing the heads of two others, interference occasionally sending static across their features.
"I am the president of Alfegos. To my left is the foreign minister of Alfegos. These two people joining me via hologram from Alfegos are the war minister and the Head of the Treasury. I welcome you aboard the AAS Aquila, the presidential air yacht, and wish to note that you are all now sitting in the most secure room aboard this airship. The rooms is fully soundproofed, and proof to electronic signals. In the very unlikely event of an emergency, the doors will automatically be unlocked. The nearest exit is the hanger bay. From there, parachutes are dispensed from a small cupboard to the side.
Now that that is done with, shall we go to business?"
Stoklomolvi
05-08-2008, 15:05
The diplomat ran through a hall, seeing nobody until he reached the conference hall. At that very moment, the Commissar was being greeted by the president, and the diplomat bowed until his head almost touched the floor. With that, all of the men walked into the room. The Commissar stood at one end of the table while the others sat; he introduced everybody.
"I am Commissar Alexei Aleksandrovich Stuyonovich, Commissar of Stoklomolvi. To my right is Foreign Commissar Grigor Aleksandrovich Stuyonovich, my brother, and the Director of the Commissariat for State Security, or KGB, Iosif Aleksandrovich Stuyonovich, my other brother. To my left is Finance Commissar Nikolay Sveltoyovich Volgomir and the diplomat Yuri. Yuri is one of the finest diplomats in the country. However, let us continue. Yuri stated that there were some matter about the Stoklomolvi Princely States to be discussed?"
"Indeed, Commissar, the Stoklomolvi Princely States will find themselves very much the subject of this meeting. After hearing the words of your diplomat, we have come to discuss whether an invasion of one of these states alongside Alfegos would be a feasible matter.
As I was told, the region is extremely impoverished, yet endowed with valuable resources whose value would easily pay for the cost of an invasion. I was also told the vast population would work against Stoklomolvi alone invading. Therefore, we wish to discuss the invasion of at least one of these states."
On the main holographic generator, a map appeared of the region in question, in glorious 3D colour. Clouds hovered over this scale model, which the president brushed aside with a command.
"The map we have here is obtained from live footage from Stratellites SV1, 2 and 9, in addition to footage from the satellite EITS 4. The political boundaries as we know them are shown, in addition to major cities. We wish to hear from your experienced side which of these states would be the most beneficial to invade."

"Truly, the only states that are vulnerable to any extent are the ones at Dehli, Orissa, and Calicut, shown here, here, and here."
He pointed to the three states.
"Dehli is directly south of the massive South Himalaya Mountain Range, conveniently located on a flat plain with virtually no forest or jungle cover. However, Dehli has one of the largest militaries of all of the states in the region. Orissa and Calicut are both coastal states, Orissa being the poorer of the two. Calicut is more readily accessible, being on the western coast. Since Stoklomolvi has naval bases near Calicut though not in region, we can base naval vessels there. Calicut is largely impenetrable by land, for there is far too much jungle. Only through the single good harbour can we land troops. However, the Calicuttians have fortified that beach with heavy defences. Naval bombardments do nothing, for we have tried. Orissa is also largely impenetrable by land, though its coastal defences are pitiable. Only two harbours are defended, and the rest are merely occupied by Orrisian troops. None of the states excluding Hyderabad and Sri Lanka have navies, and the navies of Hyderabad and Sri Lanka are some of the finest in the world. Amazingly, few even have heard of the states."
"Calicut sounds like the best state to invade as a primary objective. You say that naval bombardment had not effect. Do you reckon that our form of bombardment would have any sort of impact at all?"
A map of Calicut appeared, icons representing the Stoklomolvi naval base appearing. Coming from the edge of the map came a series of cigar-shaped objects, moving towards the coastline.
"Our idea is to set up a mid-range missile bombardment of the coastline. Whilst this preliminary bombardment is underway, a second airship taskforce would move in over the fortifications and commence short-range engagements. We would focus on a two mile-long swath of coast to clear in anticipation of the naval assault.
At the same time, paratroopers from the 22nd Airborne will fly in to perform HALO jumps in order to aid the taking out of the enemy positions on the coastline. They will also secure landing areas for air-lifted forces, allowing for the Alfegan tertiary attack force to land.
The tertiary attack force will be about battalion size, consisting mostly of Xha'noa assault tanks. Their aim will be to clear a path from aircraft and airship landing zones behind lines to the beach, the formed passage acting as the route that your forces can take to arrive. The quaternary attack force, approximately regiment-sized, will arrive alongside and seek to attack the fortifications from behind to easily subdue the coast. Once the coastal area is subdued, a large forward military command post can be set up in order to co-ordinate the arrival of re-enforcements from Alfegos and Stoklomolvi via sea.
You see, the jungle will pose our soldiers little problem. And why? They are jungle fighters themselves. You may be experts in warfare in Arctic zones, but we come into our own in the rainforests. Our tactic will involve sending in platoon-sized scout units ahead into the jungle to secure small pockets and provide transport routes for the rest of the main armoured forces.
Our aim is to capture the capital. Once that is done, the Operation will be complete. We can withdraw the main combat forces, and replace them with policing units.
Comments gentlement?"

"The jungles near the city are some of the densest we have ever seen. However, we will trust your judgement and follow through with your plan. The bombardments that we have used against the Calicuttians are from battleships and missile cruisers, though the problem is that we do not have direct intelligence on the locations of Calicuttian operations."
He stood up and pointed at the map. Several generic ship icons appeared on screen, numbering in the dozens. They sailed down to Calicut, and a marker to show a battle appeared. Ammunition was wasted by the Stoklomolvi, though few casualties were shown. The map then zoomed into the harbour, which showed landing craft arriving at the beaches. Casualties started mounting on the Stoklomolvi side, though there were few on the Calicuttian side. Huge cigar shaped objects occasionally flew to the right of the map, with a marker indicating where they landed.
"That, if it was not only I who saw it, was a simulation of what would happen if we actually launched a land-based invasion of the harbour. The main problem with Operation Living Sea, if I may call it that, is that the Calicuttians are adept jungle fighters as well. And, in a likely ironic twist, they have weapons manufactured by our own companies. For instance, they possess the S-400 Triumf, the T-90 MBT, and even Yanitarian weaponry. Policing them, as well, will be extremely difficult. Imagine the war being similar to that old war in the south somewhere. Troops from those American states invaded some Vietnamese state, and ultimately the American state collapsed under attrition warfare. It may happen here. True, it is, that the Americans were terrible at jungle warfare, but it is a risk.
"Now, since the only thing stopping us is the beach defence, the operation may be made much easier if Alfegan troops landed to the north and south of the beach. From there, the Alfegan men can flank the defence, and then we can make the landing on the beach. That should be our primary objective. From there, Alfegan men can clear paths, create supply lines, destroy enemy guerillas, et cetera. Stoklomolvi troops can provide strategic bomber support and the bulk of the manpower."
He sat, and awaited questions.
"I see the problem if they have their hands on equipment from modern states. However, this problem can be negated somewhat by the power of surprise. They will be expecting high-altitude bomber aircraft and a naval attack, not airships. The amount of missiles an airship can carry is staggering, and combined with satellite intelligence, we can mount an effective attack. Operation Living Sea, it appears, will be successful using these tactics.
So to recap: your forces will provide bomber support in addition to our airship bombardment. Whilst they are wetting themselves, we move in the Aeromarines and paratroopers to the north and south of the central coast, before moving down through the defences rapidly and clearing the area. Your men, the main assault, will then be clear to land and flood the coastal area. The major ports will, simultaneously, undergo mass assault from aeromarines picked up via airship and dropped back off in the attack. Once we have a port under control, we effectively have won this war.
For control, we will use a battalion from the Ministerial Regiment. They are experts at suppressing separatist groups and rebels, and should be able to adequately infiltrate and destroy any uprisings. As for jungle warfare, we can use them against them. We have satellite footage of the forests now, whilst they don't. We can use aerial diversions to funnel detected enemy into areas under our control, into ambushes.
I will pull out an ORBAT once the War Minister has contacted the relevant Heads of Forces and the Sky Marshall, but you can assume at least two regiments of our men in addition to an Aero-flotilla."

"Then it is settled. We will invade the state of Calicut under the casus belli that they have raided our naval vessels as they went past, however impossible and incredible that may seem. From there, we can occupy the state and divide the resources there depending on what we all need. For instance, we could take the banana plantation while you can take the oil refinery. The securing of extra resources should only affect our trade for the better."
"So be it. Our ORBAT is now online."

"This should be more than adequate, given that Stoklomolvi was planning on sending the following during the invasion. Bear in mind that the majority are nothing more than cannon fodder to give the enemy the impression that we will never stop coming in.
"So, in a sense, our Order of Battle will consist of most of the following."
The Commissar snapped his fingers, and the finance commissar took out a large display with the order of battle displayed on it.
ORBAT - Operation Living Sea
Landing Force
- ~23,000,000 convicts/conscripts/volunteers

"Brute force is our strategy here. Your goals, as stated, is to flank. After the initial landings, everything should go much smoother."
"With our strategm in place, I doubt that such large numbers are necessary, or even sane. However, if it gives you comfort, I will not complain. We will try pulling in re-enforcements from the homeland if we truly need to once the invasion corridor has been opened.
So, when shall this take place? I can have everything ready and arrived here within two weeks, alongside all necessary intelligance."
(OOC: Sorry, no nuclear contamination today. Based on my skimming of the WP article on nuclear meltdown, that's not a particularly likely chain of events.)
National Agent Logan (OOC: I've forgotten this entire time that ZNPD agents are national, not special) looked over at the prisoner and did a double-take.
"Shit balls!"
He darted over to the body and slapped the commissar several times.
"Motherfucker must have poisoned himself!"
NA Logan pried the dead man's mouth open and looked inside. He concluded not only that the commissar needed a mint, but that he had had same sort of poison capsule in his mouth.
"This is Logan, the prisoner killed himself. Posion." The agent said into his radio.
NA Logan checked the commissar's pulse just to be sure he wasn't falling into a trap then cut the PlastiCuff holding him to the rail. He hoisted the man over his shoulder and started the long walk towards the vehicles.

[OOC: How disappointing. The commissar did set the thing to overload, not light it on fire. In addition, modern technology does not include fusion reactors, which is what I'm using.]
Some of the staff members, seeing the dead commissar being carried out of the embassy, committed suicide through cyanide poisoning, while the others charged at the driver and attempted to lock the doors of the bus.
The two NAs standing at the front of the bus muttered something foul about communists as part of the bus keeled over dead and another part charged them.
Because national agents weren't issued much in the way of non-lethal weapons (if they're worth hurtin', they're worth killin') they were forced to use their rifles as blunt instruments, pushing them into the crowd (OOC: I saw that on Standoff once and it was awesome).
"Let's have some reinforcements over here!" Yelled one of the NAs as he planted his rifle against a diplomat's face.

"Go, go go!"
Two of the diplomats then smashed their handcuffs on the butts of the rifles, hard enough to shatter the handcuffs while damaging their wrists. The two then pulled out small bags from their jackets and threw them on the ground, puncturing both. Sarin gas started spraying out of the bags, and at that point the remaining men and women all committed suicide.

OOC: Nice try but 1) they're PlastiCuffs which are flexible and pretty much non-brittle, 2) they've been searched and there's a good (but not 100%) chance that any bags of toxic gas would have been found. I should have had the agents remove all outerwear though, that would have been smart.

[OOC: While the PlastiCuffs are rather strong, they are not unbreakable by any means. If you smash them hard enough on anything, the link will definitely snap. The bags aren't big; that's why they punctured upon impact with the ground.]
OOC: True, if the correct kind of force is administered, they'll break fairly easily. However, because they're very flexible, you could bash them against a flat surface (like a rifle butt) until the end of time and all you'll have is very sore wrists. They'd have to find some kind of hard wedge or corner and even then it would take multiple strikes in most situations.
Also, smaller (well, more accurately, less filled) bags are much less likely to break upon impact than larger ones. If you think of a water balloon, an extremely full one break easily upon contact with a hard target, but a very small one (with only a little water inside) will not break with impact alone (and may even be resistant to puncture) because there is dramatically less pressure being exerted on the outside skin from within.

[OOC: The rifle butt is not truly a "flat surface", per se. There's the end, which has that corner, and there's also the rifle itself. Imagine the diplomat snapping the cable tie that connects the two cuffs.
Yeah, after I wrote the thing it sounded funky. Truly, the bags were small, but very full of sarin gas; the floor of the bus, which I would assume is corrugated metal, would have punctured the bag.]

Hello, Jeff. It has been long since I have last written to the enlightened ruler of the Beatus, and it is indeed a pleasure to do so once more. While compensation is largely not an option for us at the moment, we will make "an exception" for all industries from the Beatus. Perhaps consider it to be a "special privilege". A meeting could take place some time in the near future when the time is opportune for both of us...your choice.

The Commissar of Stoklomolvi
After writing the message, Alexei put on his trench coat and hat and walked out of his office. The rain was still pouring, and he pulled down the brim of his hat, message in hand, and delivered the message to the embassy himself. He placed the message in the mailbox and walked back to the Kremlin.
Private Message, Hand Delivered via Beatusian Embassy in Stoklomolvi
To Alexei,
I thank you for allowing Beatusian businesses to continue operation within your nation. We have heard that you are having some difficulties with other nations, if you need any assistance, we will be more than glad to provide it. As for the meeting, for this, I can clear my schedule, whenever is best for you.
Signed,
Jeff Melton,
President,
The Theocratic Republic of the Beatus
OOC: Well, now you've got even more problems. Unless that's an unusually warm bus (and by unusually warm I mean freakishly hot), the sarin would be in liquid form but that's really just an FYI. Also, sarin has a pretty short shelf life (weeks to months, usually) so unless your embassy was receiving regular shipments of sarin-filled bags (something I like to think my coppers would pick up on), that sarin is all decomposed.
Now isn't RPing more fun when Mr. Science comes in and ruins things for everyone? =D
"So it is agreed. Is there anything else you wish to discuss while we are here, Commissar?"
The president smiled as he received the approval of all his present ministers, turning back in anticipation of the Commisar's questions.

[OOC: Ho ho, but it is more fun to ruin Mr. Science!
How do you know that I haven't had this planned long beforehand and had sent chunks of frozen sarin to each of my embassies in preparation for ejections? Seeing as to how my nation scoffs at international entities, such as the World Assembly, we stockpile chemical weapons and nuclear weapons at our leisure. We just send some of those chemical weapons to every embassy, wait for a closure, and utilise those weapons.
About the sarin gas, that was my fault. What I meant to say was that the sarin liquid would emit the sarin gas/vapour, which would then be inhaled. This would then cause those characteristic symptoms.]

"Actually, there is one more thing that I would like to discuss. This airship, indeed, is a marvellous mechanical construct. However, is it safe? Say, if we were flying over one of those Stoklo-Siberian warzones, would we be safe if either side accidentally fired, say, an S-400 Triumf into the airship?"
OOC: Not so fast! Mr. Science has a friend he'd like you to meet– Mr. Recent History. If we refer to the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attacks, we will see several things:
1. Although the terrorists used a similar delivery method (plastic bags full of sarin), they had to puncture the bags several times with specially sharpened umbrellas.
2. Despite the general incompetence of emergency responders and unavailability of antidotes, only twelve people were killed (at least two of which were people who directly handled a sarin bag to dispose of it). An additional 50 people were seriously injured (out of over 1000 causalities, mostly suffering only from temporary vision issues).
3. The pierced sarin bags remained in many of the trains for some time yet casualties remained low.
So, to recap, based on historical evidence, if the bags even opened, it certainly would not result in the instant death of everyone aboard. However, the restrained nature of most passengers could result in more causalities than seen in Tokyo. It's also worth noting that there are lots of ambulances parked right next to the bus.
And finally, Mr. Science would like to point out that while he doesn't know for sure, he doesn't think sarin is like yogurt (by which he means, colder temperatures won't preserve it).
EDIT: As he was brushing his teeth, Mr. Science also realized that, with their hands bound behind their back, the diplomats would have had to charge the NAs backwards and likely jump in order to make contact with the rifle stock.
Dyelli Beybi
08-08-2008, 12:05
Dyelli Beybi had been named Communist in the past, although it's internal politics were really about as similar to Communism as a daisy is to a Rafflesia... that is to say they are both flowers but otherwise bear no resemblance whatsoever.
While they usually made the point of congratulating anyone who nationalised anything, but something about this made the Dyellian Prime Minister (who happened to also be the Monarch and head of the Church) uneasy. Stoklomolvi seemed like the kind of State that might find a so called Socialist Monarch to be a little bit too much of a paradox...
So the Dyellians stayed silent, although if anyone was paying them any notice they would notice that the Cheka and Department of External Affairs were paying close attention to what might eventuate from this seemingly unobtrussive declaration. It was probable that somewhere in the Byzantine halls of Dyellian Government they were cooking up some outrageous scheme, but only time would tell.

[OOC: Dr. Anti-Assumption has some things to say!
1) The terrorists in the 1995 Tokyo attacks used plastic bags of sarin, and the type used by the diplomats was never specified. For all you know, they could have been bags made out of soap or airtight tissue paper or something else crazy.
2) The sarin used on the 1995 Tokyo incident was very impure. How do you know that the sarin used here is not completely pure? How do you know that the sarin was intended to kill?
3) Refer to the above.
Dr. Anti-Assumption notes that by freeze it was meant to have been "deep-frozen", as in frozen to temperatures that near absolute-zero. As we all know, the lower the temperature the slower the atoms move.
And yes, they did jump and break the cable tie. There is a reason that only two of the diplomats jumped up and did so.]
OOC: You think you can show me up with fancy titles? We'll see about that.
Dr. Science, PhD., MPA, Esq., CPA, would like to point out a confusing passage in post #109 that led to the assumption that the sarin was intended to kill all aboard:
Sarin gas started spraying out of the bags, and at that point the remaining men and women all committed suicide.
Naturally, you can see how that could be interpreted as saying the sarin was the cause of death while now it seems that they simply bit down on their cyanide capsules.
We will also grant you that exceptionally pure sarin would last substantially longer but we cannot come to a conclusion regarding any increased lethality derived from purity.
Furthermore, we must question the likelihood that two diplomats with their hands bound, ran backwards from a distance sufficient to gain enough energy to sever their cuffs while you have stated that the aisle was full of people and then jumped, still backwards, mind, to a sufficient height to make contact with the butt of a NAs rifle. Being backwards, they had no way of aiming and it seems more likely that they would throw their spine up against the hard plastic stock rather than connecting the small, severable area of the cuff with the edge of the rifle. And finally, they would have had to do all this without being clubbed or worse by the NAs who, it seems, would make an effort to incapacitate two prisoners who were so obviously up to something.
And finally, why in God's name do your diplomats all insist on killing themselves instead of just going home? I always assumed Stoklomolvi wasn't a nice place, but still.

1) The terrorists in the 1995 Tokyo attacks used plastic bags of sarin, and the type used by the diplomats was never specified. For all you know, they could have been bags made out of soap or airtight tissue paper or something else crazy.
If you weren't pushing it on wank before, you certainly are now.
I mean, honestly, these sort of events involving sarin and the fusion reactor should have been espoused OOCly beforehand.
(For fuck's sake... the forum's eaten my post three times.)
"The airship is a very unlikely target to be shot at. For a start, it would easily register as a target completely different to any other aircraft you would encounter. I mean, this craft is 180m long. No aircraft is that big. In addition, with a width of 45m, you would have to admit this would look nothing like an aircraft, and on RADAR would probably appear as the same size as a cloud. And since neither of your sides use airships, they would have to be extremely stupid if they were to fire at a neutral side.
If a missile launch was detected, countermeasures not limited to electronic systems would come into power. Jammers, blinders... all that sort of thing. Most missiles aren't stubborn enough to get through that electronic haze, especially when the missile launch platform suddenly believes there are fifty similar-sized craft in a massive fleet around us. Most equipment is extremely susceptable to the false signals that can be broadcast. Then we have mroe physical countermeasures. Flares around the engines, chaff launchers here and there, and two decoy missiles that often seem to provide very attractive targets to any missiles. Then there's the Hailstorm units."
He pointed to a large drum-like unit underneath the glass, linked by wires to the rest of the airship.
"Modifed from tank hard-kill systems. It can take a missile out very well with an 80% success rate. And since all modern anti-aircraft missiles aren't direct-impact warheads, the armour around the airship is shrapnel proof, able to withstand pretty much all attacks of that sort.
The gasbag isn't armoured, but that's because it doesn't need it: the main gas is helium, with a methane fuel core that is flooded with helium if fires are detected. Any gas loss is slow due to the size of this thing, and the cellular nature of its construction. Should we suffer from major damage, we can easily land at any local friendly airports or, failing that, a field, and receive an emergency repair support team within an hour, and fire support within twenty minutes.
The reason though nobody in their right mind would attack this over their territory is the consequences of the attack: if it were enough to trigger the destruction of the airship, the location of the airship's fall would automatically be plugged into the ICBM computer systems, ordering a nuclear strike on the area if I don't survive. Nobody would be foolish enough to risk nuclear war.
I hope that alleviates your fears."

[OOC: Dr. Anti-Assumption, who schooled himself in a hut on the side of a mountain, would like to point out that you are indeed correct that the nature of post #109 is very ambiguous. On the note of pure sarin, however, it can be noted that the 1995 Tokyo attack used impure sarin, which caused odd side-effects normally not present with pure sarin. Perhaps there is increased lethality, perhaps not, but we will not know until we test it. Of course, we will not test it.
There are scores of diplomats, and it can be assumed that even if half of them are dead there would be around twenty to thirty remaining. From there, two of them who are trying to break their handcuffs on the butt of a rifle would seem like nothing in comparison to dozens of others charging at the two men at the front. At any rate, I think that it is safe to assume that my men are all dead anyway.
Stoklomolvi is very cold. The diplomats don't like the cold.]

"I see. So, let's say that Siberian AA unit down there suddenly thought that Stoklomolvi had acquired airships and fired at us."
The Commissar pointed through the glass at a small vehicle on the ground below. Small dots and squares were moving about, a distance of about two centimetres from where they were. After a moment, fiery dots appeared. There was another fight between the Stoklomolvi and the Siberian Natives.
"What would happen then? Would Stoklomolvi get nuked for an action committed by rebellious people in the middle of nowhere? At any rate, I would say that this meeting has concluded beneficially for both parties."
"The airship can track the original site of launch of an enemy missile, as well as getting a rough assumption of what the missile was. As such, the launch site area would be targeted, most likely the area held by Siberian Natives. Depending as I said on the severity, nuclear weapons may or may not be used.
Anyhow, good this meeting ended with satisfaction for both sides: a rare thing I find. I will be in contact with you, "
Stoklomolvi

"Indeed. Very well then, I suppose it is best that we take our leave."
The Commissar and the others stood, bowed, and started for the door. Before the Commissar could really move, the foreign commissar checked his watch. It was really quite late, though none of them actually noticed. Below, the firefight illuminated the ground and sky, as flying bombs and primitive rockets flew back and forth between the two sides. Flak clouds poofed below the airship, and one extremely ancient Yakovlev fighter owned by the Siberian Natives was shot down by a flak cloud.
(OOC: So, we're starting a new thread for the war? Call it the same name as you came up for the operation)
"Well then, I will be seeing you quite soon, Commissar. If you ever need any exotic weapons or airship platforms for the war you are waging, don't hesitate to ask. You might also notice any airship convoys coming through this region will now come with escorts: the shipping companies should be able to stretch to that. As for us, an escort will be more likely next time, just to scare off anyone attempting to shoot us."
Stoklomolvi

The Commissar nodded and left with the others. Soon afterwards, they embarked on the fusion craft, which flew out of the hangar into the black sky. Unluckily, the craft was then hit by a flak round, which damaged a section of it. Regardless, the craft flew a wide arc and sped up to hypersonic speeds in order to reach Vladistov.
Below the airship, the fighting intensified, as Siberian rebels started pouring out of their ambush positions and Stoklomolvi Imperial Guardsmen were reinforced by advanced armour and artillery brigades. In the distance, more fights broke out, as the 337th Stoklo-Siberian War began to unfold. It truly was a trivial matter; as many of twenty of these wars could break out in one year, and most were unreported.

The airship soon found itself raising up to 6000m altitude, its service ceiling. At this height of 20 000 feet, it was safe from the flak fire from far below as it rode the jetstream back to Alfegos: the winds had definately changed. Inside, the president made the preparations for the war.
