IC:

It was a snowy day many decades ago. It was during the First Grecian war. The area resembled and arctic WWII battlefield, bodies were everywhere and gunshots, screaming, yelling and bombs could be heard in the distance. The SLA troops from several troops carriers and APCs got off. The SL regime resembled a cross between Stalin's and the Imperial Japanese one. The troops lived strictly by a code and those who broke a single law were expected to commit suicide. The SL Alliance also emplyed many old Soviet "disciplinary measures" such as shooting every other man in a company that failed to give the commanders results and shooting all cowards and those who refused to follow orders. But this regime was about to take a heavy blow. A lizasaur with a louspeaker shouted "Get off now! The Alliance orders all troops being carried to leave your transports, those who do not get off in time will be shot! The troops scrambled off, a few tripped on their way out and others were a few seconds late. The officers then took their sidearms and aimed it at those who "failed". The troops were so heavily brainwashed and zealous that they stood their and apologized for their failure before being shot. An officer then spoke up. "The alliance has no need for clumsy, slow and weak troops, they are a waste of air, food and water. Thusly, if you all want to serve our just organization, you will all be expected to gladly sacrifice your lives should you fail your superiors I ask of you nothing that I wouldn't do myself, should I no longer be useful to the empire I will gladly commit suicide for our cause. As you well know this area is cold, if I see any sissies who cannot take it even after we 'trained' you to take it you will be shot!" Little did the officer know that his death and the death of all in the vicinity was near.

Lieutenant Colonel: Sir! I we have picked up a few villagers from Lesbanania, what do you want us to do with them?

Colonel: I'll speak with them and act according to the code.

There were two villagers that looked weak and pale as though they were being oppressed.

Colonel: Good God! This is why we lizasaurs despise the human race, look men! Observe how they can oppress their own kind. They are truly a nature's joke!

Old man: You must see the caverns.

Colonel: I will only do as the code and the authorities command...*stares coldly* and I shall only go there if there is good reason. Tell me, is there anything there of value to the alliance?

Old man: Yesss..... Go and see....

There was also the a teenage girl with the old man. She had puppy dog eyes that were filled with sorrow and also a tattoo of a scorpion on her palm. Little did the SL personnel know it but the two vilalgers were using their psionic ability to influence them. The Colonel had this feeling come over him that something of utter importance dwelt within the caves.

Colonel: Alright then, I will bring a regiment of men, Lt Colonel!

Lt. Colonel: Yes sir!

Colonel: If any of them try anything stupid you know what to do.

Lt Colonel: Yes sir!

Colonel: Alright you lazy idiots [the regiment] You're coming with me.

They entered the cavern, the walls were bluish, it seemed refreshing and beautiful, something mystical ruled over the place with more ferocity than the SL council could throw at it's people. The colonel noticed a rock with a picture of a scorpion and a virgin girl with wheat.

Lesbanian girl: That's it, pick up the rock. Pick it up! PICK IT UP!

Corporal: What's she talking about?!

Sergeant: Just some more human nonsense, they're all crazy like this...

(cave)

Colonel: Ok, I am picking it up! Wait?! WHAT THE?!?!?!

A blue glow began flickering in the cave along with yellow flickering from gunfire. Lizasaurian screams filled the cave as a shock wave emitting from the caverns shot out of the cave killing all in the vicinity, except the two villagers. The villagers laughed and laughed with glee, they danced among the dead bodies and even began throwing some of their body parts in the air like confetti. The old man then smeared blood on the tail of the scorpion tatoo.

Old man: It has begun! HAHAHA! for mood (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-9L-RZkod4)

The girl's laugh was equally neurotic and scary.

(present day)

Reformer troops were sent to the area for classified reason, not even the troops were sure why they were there. Unlike their First Waver predecessors they were a lot less disciplined, and not as zealous. They resembled security guards that hated their jobs. And unlike the SLA the South Lizasaurian army now had terran as well as lizasaurian personnel. By now the South Lizasaurian military relied on highly trained troops and manpower but technology.

The hover hummer neared it's position when suddeny the driver slammed the brakes.

Corporal: Good God! Did you see that sarge?

Sergeant: Yes "Yip" I did...*gets out with his shotgun loaded* Mother mercy! This place is a smeggin graveyard. Look at all these dead soldiers!

Most of the bodies were either skeletonized or covered in brownish flesh that was preserved from the cold environment. In blood the message "the age of SL dominance is over, the age of the scorpion hath begun" on a wall of an old stone house.

INTEL agent: Excellent...we're here.

Field Commander: Agent Miley, I'd like to know why we're here.

INTEL agent: Your'e here to secure the area and make sure the government gets what it wants here. Just cover my colleagues backs while we work.

Field Commander: And that is?

INTEL agent: Hehehe, if I tell you anymore I'd have to kill you.

INTEL archeaologist: Agent Miley sir! I found old markings saying that there are more caves like this around the world, however whether or not they connect are uncertain.

(Y-Files office)

Boney walked in holding a cup of coffee. She noticed that Moldy was reading an articled in the paper "Weird news"

According to the article eighty year old SL alliance soldiers clambered out of caves in Kirav, Ameriganistan and East Laos babbling on tons of insane nonsense. The men and women who escaped spoke of a dystopia underground where suffering spirits go to share their pain with those who dare enter. They spoke of how they were unworthy and should shoot themselves yet that if they do they might end up back in the caves. They spoke of various monsters and entities bent on causing pain to those with mystical connections.

Moldy: We have Y-file.

Boney: But that is just a tabloid, it doesn't back it's statements up with scientific facts.

Moldy: Remember that one Y-file where a girl turned out to be a seeker and a man who was attracted to her not because of her sex appeal but because of mystical purposes turned out to be her guardian? Whose to say that what this article says is false when the statements in this article coincide with many religious teachings and folklore.

Boney: But that's all it is folklore.

Moldy: Surely you remember all those other Y-files that you called folklore that we saw as true. Anyway we already have been assigned to the INTEL paranormal and archaeological team sent there to analyze the cavern network. I took it up with assistant director Butcher.

"Ok men, we're looking for oil down here, nothing more, nothing less. Although I don't want him to go, Jack is going, he will be going with only 15 East Laosian Marines. I wanted him to bring more, but he doesn't feel the need to. So we are just going to have them go down there, however we are all staying here above ground, and are monittering them." Said Jackson Hydrid, head of this whole operation.

Just then an old wrinkly lizasaur in tattered and worn out SLA uniform came running out screaming and ranting and raving about having enemies living inside of him.

SLA soldier: GET THEM OUT! GET THEM OUT! YOU BASTARDS! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! They're coming!

The lizasaur tried to fight the humans approaching them but by now he was in a pitiful state, his punches that once would break bones now couldn't even pulverize a flea circus. This man's strength and vitality were literally drained by the hell below. The struggle was short for the lizasaur tired himself out then collapsed.

SL Soldier: A corporal in the South Lizasaurian army. I fought for the alliance in the war against the Grecians. *remembers previous events* Geeze, geeze geeze.... Those monsters those terrible monsters....*takes deep breath* What they did....what they want to do....Good God somebody must stop them!

Usually SL troops were taught to remain silent about their whereabouts under penalty of death but by then there was no one there to punish him so what the heck.

SL Soldier: Because they are, they want to control me, just like they did the others. They turned my friends and comrades into puppets for their twisted schemed against the world. We had to kill them in order to prevent the tainted ones from reaching the surface. They know I won't listen to them so instead of commanding me they dwell near me and cause me pain.

(six years ago-Second Grecian war)

Reformer troops got off.

INTEL agent: Inform the men.

Captain: Yes sir! Alright men, this cave holds a secret that is essential for our cause. The mroe we understand about them the more we'll understand the connection our nation has with the Lesbanians which will in turn give our commanders more to work off of after liberating them from the enemy. Let's move out. The troops went into the cavern.

Private John: It sure is dark down here...and spelunking sure wasn't in the job description.

Sergeant Nimmick: Use the night vision and cave gear then you nitwit.

John: Hey Sarge, how come we don't get the new stuff that other nations have?

Sergeant: because our government hasn't yet located the funds! And it ain't easy equipping an army when the enemy is sipping tea on OUR land!

Reformer soldier: Grecian cultist bastards!

Sergeant: Shhh.... I saw something move.. *moves cautiously to a hole in the wall of the cave* Wait what the!?!?!?!

Two glowing blue eyes were seen then a giant arachnid of some sort lunged at the sergeant slashing him open with a one of it's tentacles. The rest of the troops began seeing creatures of and people who made it clear that they were hostile. One of the scouts who was checking out a tunnel heard the radio chatter "contact, unidentified hostiles in main tunnel, engage engage!" The reformer picked up his communicator and said " This is Private Charlie Walters, I'm moving." HNe ran with haste but then noticed a small girl crying. He picked up his communicator "This is Walters I think I may have found a survivor." One reformer responded back with a "roger that".

Small girl ghost: Are you my daddy?

Walters: No, but I'm here to help.

Small girl: I want my daddy! *throws tantrum then pulls out a hatchet and flies at the soldier*

Walter: HOLY SHIT! *fires his machinegun but with no effect* YAAAAAAAHHH!!

The ghost disappeared right before it should have touched him. The soldier began to move towards the engagement zone again when an invisible force tripped him and broke away a stalagmite that was right above him. He rolled out of the way just in time and looked at it with bewildered eyes then fainted.

Meanwhile the rest of the troops decided to fall back. They ran out of the exit of the cave and dived behind some rocks to take cover. A lizasaurian soldier came limping out. The rest of the troops called out to him "c'mon, your a lizasaur you're supposed to be faster than humans! C'mon, get the hell out of there! The Lizasaur tried to to reach his comrades but then a large scorpion-like creature grabed him from the darkness and pulled him back in, seconds laters his head and a few limbs shot out of the cave. A terran soldier of African descent then fired his machinegun into the cave shouting "you bastard!!!!!" but then a Reformer officer pulled him down to prevent the angry soldier from getting killed and to prevent him from exposing their position. Unlike the First Wavers who fell victim there earlier the Reformers cared about their troops and their well being. The Lt Colonel turned to his XO and shouted "Call HQ and the national guard, I want this accursed place guarded, nothing with more than two legs and more vitality thatn us mortals gets out of that cave! May God have mercy on their souls..." There was a head count and every event was checked, rechecked, documented then archived.

SL Soldier: They are angry spirits! Monsters that want to make those with certain connections to them suffer as they have but above that they desire the destruction of surface dwellers, they are so filled with hate they hate everything that doesn't heed their madness and their insanity. They wish to control. NO! The ones in my head are trying to destroy my memories so I can't warn you!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have special plans for South Lizasauria! Ugh! He then signaled for the troops to head inside of the cave to scout it out. The soldiers walked into the cave, not knowing what was to come.

Old man: Why did they those things to us?! *images of genocide and mass murder start flashing in the soldiers' heads as the others turn around*

The people were all mutilated, cut up, shot up but most importantly they were already dead. They all disappeared as the ghosts shouted together "WHY DID THEY DO THOSE THINGS TO US! WE'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!!" The cave began to rumble as many giant scorpions charged at the troops.

"HQ, there's some creepy shit goin on here." Yelled SGgt. Spriggs into the walkie talkie. The men in the truck and who had set up base could all hear them on the walkie talkies.

Spriggs began to run up to the entrance in a despreate attempt to get out. Him and about ten others were making their way to the front, seeing all of the soldiers being killed around them. They still had flashing memories of genocide and pain stuck in their heads. A few began to fall to the ground from the images. Spriggs and three others managed to make it out. They then ran into the truck. All of the people at the small base ran to the truck to examine the situation.

"They, they, they were just killing us all. There was nothing we could do about it. Our shots didn't do much of anything. They only slowed them down.I saw things, things that no one wants to ever see." said Spriggs, only able to stare at Jacksons face.

(6 years ago in the cave)

Many of the people in those caves were able to get out but many more remained unaccounted for. Many of those who remained either became affected by the hellish creatures of the deep which caused many survivors to kill each other. Being in the hellish cave had many psychological as well as physical effects as well. The second Grecian was was on and many South Lizasaurians were unsure they'd survive.

Male human marine: You know...I have something to tell you that I don't think I'd ever tell you...

Female marine: Whats that?

Male marine: I love...you...when we signed up we had a duty to our nation but now because of the current circumstances we have yet another duty...

Female marine: And what the hell is that. * the man got closer* No....

Male: Cmon!!! They could be slaughtering us up there, or nation survives as long as at least two citezens keeps procreating. *moves closer but the woman kicks him off*

By then the woman was being overwhelmed, luckily a major came up behind the two and shot the man in the back killing him. Screams were heard as other survivers went mad and attacked the sane ones.

Woman: that you sir...thant you thank you. *hugs him*

Major: *shoves her off hard* Damn! I'm disgusted.

The woman began to cry but the Major responded to this by harshly saying "We are soldiers! What the hell is all this hugging and crying business?! Is that how soldiers! When you wear the uniform you accept the rules and conduct that come with it! Am I making myself perfectly clear soldier?!" The woman nodded. The Major walked away with his hands behind his back. "Do you know why I'm an officer? Heh...didn't think so luitenant...during the battle of Gunkong and Hang Suoy things seemed grim, but even then I kept my head and acted accordingly and because of that my subordinates survived...it's no different here...we gotta keep out hea-" Just then a creature swooped past him and sliced his head off, blood splurted from the neck as his body fell to the ground. The woman screamed as the creature doubled back for her.

Jackson stepped outside. He was the only one out there. He could still hear the gun shots and men screaming. He thought that he could see a little girl. He walked over to her, they were right at the entrance of the cave.

"Hello there little girl, we need to get into the truck. C'mon." Jackson grabbed her hand, only to be stabbed by razor sharp razors, sticking out of her hand. He screamed as his sliced his neck opened. Sending blood out everywhere. The men inside the large truck could hear the sounds. They went outside and saw him being dragged away.

"Holy shit!" Yelled a marine.

OOC: Let's have Jackson's ghost look into it. ;)

Several ghosts were surrounding Jackson's body. They reached in and pulled his spirit out and threw him roughly to the ground. The other spirits eyed him down but made way for a woman who seemed to be their leader. She was wearing a leather bikini, held a small stone hatchet with a bone for a handle and a skull carved into the blade. She also was blonde, quite attractive, had braided hair and a leather hat. On her back was a scorpion tattoo. She bent over Jackson's mangled body and said "He shall make a perfect vessel for our plague! Go now corpse! Bring our message to the masses! I command you in the name of all who died under their oppression! Release our anger and connect our worlds! She began speaking in a Lesbanian toungue which caused the body to rise. Jackson's body was now a zombie, he was powerless, all he could do was watch his body get up and shamble toward the exit. "Lets see the South Lizasaurians contain this one." she smirked.

She dodged the bullets which then went through the samurai without doing any damage to him.

Woman: Humph! Is that the best you boys can do?! How disappointing....I'm somewhat confused...I thought you wanted me to fuck with you and thats just what I'm doing? I sure am lucky I found you, the more foreigners under my spell the more power I have. Power in which to destroy all opposition!

samurai: You crazy bitch! I'll cut you down in the name of clan and comrades! *charges again*

Just then the soldier's bite became searing hot despite the fact it wasn't burning. Swirling colors were seen before his eyes. Images of the horrors that the inhabitants of the cave have seen flashed in his mind. A dark and cold feeling swept over him, it was as though death was consuming him from within, the plagued bite was beginning to take effect. Meanwhile right when the samurai slashed blood fell to the floor that quickly burnt up in an evil flame. There was a small gash on her cheek.

Woman: Grrrr! How dare you hurt the queen of the holy caves! I have had enough of your meddling,... MINIONS! KILL THEM!

Just then many spirits under her command began advancing with a stare so cold, hateful and evil that looking into them made one feel like they were in a concentration camp. However at many of the spirits were distracted as the ghosts of the South Lizasaurians that have died in the cave appeared out of nowhere. This event sparked a pitched battle between the specters under the queen and those who resisted her and hid from her influence. The South Lizasaurian and Grecian spirits fought the way they did when they were still alive, only this time the stabs, heavy blows and gunshots did not kill, they only weakened. The survivors' ghosts and those under the queen fought. The samurai was now fighting them as well. However not all the enemy were without physical form, some skeletons and corpses of the South Lizasaurian and Grecian soldiers arose with their souls guiding them to destroy the other one. Though attempts to cause damage to the enemy were futile for the most part the objective was to distract the enemy long enough for the two heroes to escape the attack, however they wouldn't allow the currently living soldier to surface.

"F-f-f-u-ck. You won't be able to take me. I'm too g-g-g-g-g-g" That was the last thing he said before dying. He then rose back up and began to charge at the samurai.

Meanwhile Spriggs got one hundred troops, and proceeded to head into the cave. Right at the entrance they could see the fight going on.

"Men, raise your weapons, 3, 2, 1, FIRE!"
All the men raised their weapons, but didn't fire. They weren't sure who to shoot at.

"Wait don't shoot, just get your weapons ready once they try to attack us, or make a move." said Spriggs.

The soldier's body and Jacksons body noticed the fresh living meat at the cave entrance. They began to shamble toward them but the queen stopped them and ordered them to withdraw from the fight. The marine and Jackson's spirits watched in terror until they were grabbed by the survivor spirits and pulled away to a protected part of the cave. The two then saw a part of the cavern filled with survivors that resembled a pub. All the other spirits would reminisces about how unfortunate they are. It seemed that apart from fighting the evil within the caves, that pity partying was all they did.

Dead soldier: Oy! Check out da three newcomers...Welcam to 'ell!

The other's groaned.

Survivor ghost: You know if we, were alive and if we had a large supply of alcohol this place wid be perfect.

Dead soldier: Well it aren't! It aren't dat way! All we ca do is wait here and suffer. Fightings dah onlah ting that keep us zane!

Their speech wasn't perfect, but then again after being seperated from true civilization you couldn't blame them.

Meanwhile at the cave, the woman put her deceptive skills to work, while in the dark she fell to the ground and began crying. "Hello? Is anyone out there??? I'm cold, lonely and frightened. And there are these evil things in the dark that want to eat me...somebody help." She crawled towards them as though mortally wounded.

Just then and invisible force grabbed all the soldiers except the XO and Spriggs into the dark. "See what I mean?!" she moaned in fear. her fearful face then turned to a devious smile. "Get 'em you two" she said in a way that it'd seem like she was talking to Spriggs and the XO but really she was talking to her pet zombies. The soldiers were fine for now but little did they know that they're comrades were being silently picked off and infected without them knowing. That was until one of them made and "umph" sound followed by a squishy flesh sound.

Meanwhile at Tavern Cavern (nicknamed by the survivors)

Dead SL Soldier: Dese aren't ones much far waards aren't dey.

Reformer Soldier: Nah, they jus a little shy fer now...Hey do ya sense that, looks like a group of nine souls will need rescuing. Look! The images of zombie Jackson sneaking up behind a marine filled the heads of all within tavern cavern. A dead captain stoop up on a rock and said "I'll need some volunteers" The samurai got up and walked in front of him, though instead of acting like a samurai like he usually did he saluted the captain. "Lieutenant Tu reporting for duty." he said. "Luitenant? What army and where?" asked the captain with interest. "The SLFS Vigilantes, I was one of the officers killed in action early in the war. I am glad that ship still flies. I apologize for being not wearing my uniform for in the afterlife I tend be bound by my Asian heritage and their ways. Both my former colleagues, clan members and ancestors are looking to me. I must fulfill my duties." responded the samurai.

The earthquake hadn't done much damage in Ralkovia. This had caused a huge cave to form at the edge of the village. No one paid it any attention as the damage caused by the actual cave had destroyed an entire block.

"Sir, we have intel saying that this cave leads from Ralkovia, to South Lizasauria. We also believe that it extends to a small portion of East Laos. We are begining to dig toward the spot we believe it's located. Infact We've just about found it." said officer Remmings

Creature: But my queen..you do remember that our spies are the only ones that can exit the cave without help from an infected outsider. They will be unarmed and for the most part...defenseless..

The chubby hand slid the manila folder across the desk. It did not fly, it did not slam down. It was given with respect.

The aged hand reached down and gently brought the offering to the level of its recipient's eyes.

"And this is about?" the obese man who was standing in front of the desk asked the obese man who was sitting behind it.

The two men were like a study in similarities and contrasts. The one behind the desk wore a well-tailored three-piece suit; the one before it, dark blue corduroys and a dark blue sweater--also perfectly tailored to his form. Each wore a single ring on his left hand, and the rings had the same crest--but the stone on ring of the man behind the desk was blue, while his compatriot's was green.

Those who recognized the green ring knew that there it was one of a kind. The Metal Man, a cyborg of great age, had many friends, all of whom wore the rings, but only his was green. In fact, it was by pressing on the stone of his ring that the other man, a mid-level agent named Blankenship, had invited his former mentor to this meeting.

"Oh, read it yourself. It's pretty straightforward," came the reply. "It'll be quicker that way."

The folder opened. Quickly, the pages streamed through.

The standing man whistled. "Cute," he said. "You know, if I had been called in a few years ago, I could have trained people to handle this."

"I was only made aware of its contents yesterday."

"Figures. Your superiors have a bad habit of treating me like a blunt instrument. I can be much, much more."

"I know," the agent replied, "I wasn't born when that folder came in."

"So," the Metal Man said, "I suppose that big, bad Blankey is going to have to give me the ol' pep talk and I'm just going to have to wave my magic flag and hurry off to save the world from all the demons and goblins and ghoulies, oh my."

"Something like that," came the reply.

"What a waste," the cyborg said.

And, with that, he disappeared. No doors, no windows, no movement. He just disappeared. And Blankey wasn't the least bit surprised.

"Something like that," he said.

------------------------------------------------

Some hours later, a strange-looking device appeared outside of the cave entrance. It looked like two cubes, one piled atop the other. A small dome on its square top side had small devices attached, and there was a circle in the center of its front side made of something shiny. Beyond that, a small rectangle of a material that was of a dark brown color was the only thing that interrupted the sandstone-brown of its external finish.

"OK, Pete. I'm on the field intact. Where's the entrance?"

"Directly behind you, about twenty feet."

"Got it. Thanks. No contact with anything living. Looking for...Wow! This place is a graveyard! There are bones in the ground all over the place. Looks like the bodies, for the most part, just rotted. No signs of scavenging."

"Consistent with a supernatural predator," Pete said. "Scavengers would sense the thing and keep away."

"Roger that," the Metal Man replied. "I'm going in."

Unsteadily at first, the Box, one of several non-humanoid suits the Metal Man could wear, rose from the ground on magnetic levitators and flew through the air toward and into the cave.

"OK. Just crossed through the opening...lots of rock formations and plenty of tracks. What do you make of those cave drawings, Pete?"

Static.

"Pete?"

More static.

"Oh, great. That ferous material in the cave mouth must be blocking off the signal."

If it did, it was too distant to study. I'm continuing inward now. Note the absence of sentient remains. Unlike the cave entrance, this area has been cleaned. South Lizasaurian INTEL agents, members of the South Lizasaurian psi corps (an experimental division of the federal government and military) and the SLSC (even though the SLSC is meant for space were scouting and studying the cave. Scientists in power suits observed and studied the cave, documenting the writing. (given the nature of the caves it would seem the military within the SLSC are the only ones who can equipped for the harsh and hostile environment of the deep)

Meanwhile miles away a few hours later the Lesbanians sent some of their secret service in with their armed forces. They sent in cave vehicles mounted with gattling cannons, they sent in heavy infantry, armed forces. The caves seemed to be less cruel to Lesbanians for historical reasons so it was safe for them to go lightly armored as opposed to the South Lizasaurians who were already using power suits.

(present time)

The two forces met and the firefight began. Lesbanian and South Lizasaurian personnel began killing each other. The unarmed personnel were evacuated and both nations secretly hardened their military defenses. The fight continued and the sounds of gunfire echoed all the way to Metal man's ears.

With two injured morons, the Metal Man suddenly noticed that, unless he did something real fast, there would be a soon be a third moron who was injured or worse: him. His little escapade had led him right through the heart of enemy fire, and this had all but depleted his shields. As he disarmed the two warlike creatures--another thing that he was stupid not to have done sooner--he realized that, with proper medical attention, they'd probably both make it.

So he cloaked. And started dragging them out of the cave. Unfortunately, though the cloak worked for him, it didn't work for them. If his life weren't in so much jeopardy, he thought, the sight of the two of them being dragged bodily along the cave floor would probably have been more than a little humorous.

Fortunately, Brain Jar had some rudimentary medical facilities. IF he got to the cave mouth in some semblance of one piece, and IF the two morons survived, he just MIGHT be able to get to the bottom of this.

Of course, one more good ol' fashioned hit and his shields would go the way of the dodo, but being a moron comes at a price.

He had done the best he could: dropped his cloak, transferred as much power to his maglevs as possible, lifted both men off the ground and left as fast as he could. Fortunately, the morons were too busy shooting at each other to secure the cave mouth. Because of this, he had managed to get aboard Brain Jar and get the two men medical attention--in separate rooms--with only major damage to The Box. One of the hits had taken out his port side motion control system, and he had needed to cut the port claw away from the South Lizasaurian commander. Fortunately, he'd also been able to upload all his data to Pete.

In a humanoid suit, he stood before The Box, which was sitting on a white platform, with what appeared to be a small dish surrounding it. His hand reached into the darkened rectangle along the bottom of the travel suit and pulled. A section of the plate broke off, and a shower of parts--now reduced to scrap--came cascading down into the dish-like receptacle. He shook his head, pushed a button on the column beside him and started rattling off a list of parts.

"Port bow utility claw, port-side motion control relay, bow, port, starboard and stern side plates, main port-side plasma cannon assembly, port side electron gun..."

"Pardon me," came a voice over the comm speaker, "but I think there's something that you'd like to know."

"What is it, Pete?"

"It appears that the Lesbananian soldier has regained consciousness--though I may have to tranquilize him if he doesn't stop struggling."

"He's awake? Good. All the better because it's the human one. Creatures like that have a bad habit of not being able to see much past the surfaces of their own skins. This suit looks human, and that could be an advantage. Mattrans me to him."

In a moment, the Metal Man appeared outside of the commander's door. Pete had added a small but important touch--it would help the human if he used the door instead of just appearing out of thin air.

As the Metal Man entered the room, the Lesbananian quickly stopped his and turned a hate-filled gaze to him.

"What's that for?" the Metal Man asked. It is because of this behavior that many South Lizasaurian secret service agents would either lose their tempers and "go to far" or end up having to go through major therapy later. "Boss?" came the voice.

"Yes, Pete."

"Thank you." The Metal Man returned to his patient. "It appears that I'm needed elsewhere. Feel free to converse with my mechanical assistant. He's a good conversationalist. We don't allow international television, though. Too much of the wrong kind of values."

With that, he left, hoping that he could keep the man's baser nature at bay long enough to return him to his own and make him someone else's problem. Lesbania was turning out to be quite a nasty place. An autocrat with an all-encompassing Secret Service. This usually led to the lack of an educated populace, which led to a state that was an economic midget but a military giant--precisely the worst kind of state for someone like the Metal Man, who could accept no one as his sovereign. It was also not always a good place for the people who lived there. Republics had their problems, but, over the long run, they generally outperformed Tyrannies.

"Boss?"

"Yes, Pete."

"The actual reason why I wanted you out of that room is because the the South Lizasaurian appears to be nearly conscious himself."

By the way, could you do me a small favor and research Lesbania and South Lizasauria on the internet? There has to be more to this than what I'm getting."

It took three minutes for the Metal Man to traverse the halls and reach the other cell. He wasted no time in punching up the creature's vital statistics. This one had been considerably less lucky than his counterpart. Instead of hitting him in the shoulder, the bullet had impacted his abdomen, holing a kidney and causing damage to a host of other internal organs. Kidneys generally do not react well to trauma--when one of them is injured, the other one will often shut down just for spite. The Metal Man had needed to use a variant compound of his own blood to heal this one--and that could have caused him to temporarily lose some or all of his mind. The only way to tell was to talk with him.

"Hello, Colonel Pesch," he said, "I am known as the Metal Man, and I am trying to get you stabilized and back to your people for more thorough treatment. You my guest, not my prisoner. I will attempt to heal you, and, if I can help it, not to harm you in any way. As a stranger to your land, I must, however, confess that I am a bit ignorant as to your people and your customs. Colonel Pesch: The answer to that is simple my friend, they hated us first. We tried to make peace with them but their barbaric and simplistic lifestyle forbade it. I'm aware of my nation's history and aware that the SL Alliance did many evil things during it's time but ever since the Reformer government came into command, the government in which I am an officer...the nation swore to right all those wrongs and to do only good and make this world a better place, to fight evil. And I tell you now, the Lesbanians are evil, I don't know if they were or not prior to the Grecian war but I sure as hell know they are now, the nation knows. The South Lizasaurian people also know this, the Lesbanians hated us to the point where they attempted genocide, our intelligence has found out that they are power hungry, aggressive and corrupt. They are a threat to civilization in their area. They hate us unjustly and for false reasons that their "queen" claims are true. It is because of these reasons that we hate their wretched kind! They are immoral pigs!

Meanwhile the Lesbanians and South Lizasaurians continued to fight within the caves. Both sides did their best to make sure that no one infected by supernatural monster attacks made it out. A few made it out causing the town around the caves in South Lizasauria to go under full quarantine.

(outside the caves)

South Lizasaurian and Lesbanian armed forces met and campaigned against one another. It was war. Bombs and tracer bullet could be seen lighting up the sky above the combat zones.

Pete looked up South Lizasauria and Lesbania on the web. Many historical sites and many conspiracy theory and Grecian war propaganda sites came up. Some were related to the media wars, most were related to the Grecian wars.

There were many theory conspiracy sites as well. Some said the South Lizasaurians and the Lesbanians were intended by supernatural entities to be allies but ended up as enemies because of the Grecian's invasion and "rape" of their Lesbanian civilization.

Another postulates that the early South Lizasaurians attacked Lesbania, the invasion was staved off but heavy damage was done, eventually centuries later after the tales of said war were supposedly forgotten by the South Lizasaurians, the Lesbanians (who remembered and now hated the South Lizasaurians with a burning passion) struck back when the SL Alliance was weak.

Others postulated that the animosity only began during the first conflict between Lesbania and Grecia and that since their populace was now being massacred and brainwashed their thinking had become impaired.

Others beleived that all these events were inspired by God or supernatural entities/powers. It was the sites that had supernatural claims that contained information regarding the caves.

"Great," the Metal Man said. "Nothing reliable. We'll probably have to penetrate Her Magesty's Imperial Archives in order to learn anything useful."

"It's worth that much effort?" Pete asked.

"Nope," the Metal Man replied. "The Lesbanians are a bunch of totalitarian xenophobes. You know what happens to those."

Pete chuckled. "Their nightmares come true. They can't educate their own for fear of being overthrown, so foreigners outproduce and overwhelm them. Sooner or later, they get into a war that they can't win--and then, it's all over."

"So how are we going to contact these people and arrange to give them back their people without getting turned into lab rats?"

"We're not," Pete answered. "Falsonia is. The CIA should handle this one. They ARE, after all, getting all our data."

The Metal Man smiled. "As good a plan as any," he said. "Won't Blankenship be amused?"

"He leads a boring life," Pete said. "He can use a little excitement.

"In other news, I've been scanning the local radio communications. There seems to be some kind of disease afoot locally--though the quarantine they've instituted seems to be holding, for the moment."

"We'd better look into that. When are we due to contact the CIA?"

"In about two minutes."

"Tell them that we'll be looking into that next."

"What about that message on the inner cave wall?"

"I almost forgot about that. Do you have a copy of the image that you can display?"

(a decade before the cave queen's wrath was unleashed on South Lizasauria)

Guns blazed and bombs burst. Lesbanian and Grecian troops marched forward killing all Lesbanians tat refused to convert to their cult. The civillians were lined up against walls and shot. Many of said civillians were the ones that the East Laosians saw in the caves. They screamed and yelled. They plead for mercy! As an army truck with speakers on them spat out Grecian propaganda such as "our nation is wise, just and forgiving, if we forgive you you are all saved" and "serve our mighty leaders, bliss awaits" the Grecian troops brutalized the populace without any of their so called mercy. The cult that seized control of Grecia was notorious for training their soldiers to torture their prey whenever they can before killing. The torture helped scare others into doing what the cult wanted them to do. The cities, towns, villages, suburbs and industrial development burned. The fires could be seen in the distance.

"Grecian War One?" the Metal Man asked.

"There's some confusion on the websites," Pete pointed out. "Though the standard history lists only one Grecian-Lesbanian war, there is legend of another, earlier conflict."

"The Grecians are a particularly nasty bunch," the Metal Man said. "Basically, a cult with no qualms about doing the absolute worst to those who don't believe."

"Why weren't we on hand to help the refugees in the last war?"

"We were helping the CIA develop a vaccine to stop a Spanish Flu outbreak."

"Oh. That. You'd think those bioterrorists would've learned by now."

"That is why we developed The Training--to help good people to rebuild bad societies from the inside."

(a decade before the cave queen's wrath was unleashed on South Lizasauria)

Guns blazed and turrets unloaded munitions but all was in vain for the South Lizasaurian corporate outpost (that held vital information which the government paid them to protect) was overrun by Grecian black ops. Two Grecian agents acquired the information and brought it back to their base. War wasn't declared, this was just a skirmish. And the greedy corporation would not dare let the government learn of their failure. The company made a cover up and pretended that all was well, which is what prevented war. When the SL regime came into power those that failed were hunted down and executed publicly in the most gruesome of ways.

(Grecian Secret Service facility)

Agent Medusa: We have the information you wanted master. *holds out an envelope with the words "TOP SECRET" written on top

Grecian Secret Police officer: Excellent...give it here hehehehe! For far too long have the South Lizasaurians been a threat to our power, though they are not openly at war with us their population houses many Virgons who are a South Lizasaurianic people who are renowned thinkers, we cannot have them finding out about our plans now can we. They possess great defensive capability, many resources and skilled hard workers. Taking them head on would prove to be a challenge but this new information here gives us an alternative. With the new information Medusa has ascertained we now know that our war with Lesbania can actually take out two birds in one stone. You see we have learned of a legend that South Lizasauria and Lesbania are somewhat connected.

Pete looked up Grecian war 1. Many results came up but most of them revealed the same information.

Summary:

Basically the Grecians attacked Lesbania found out about hidden information regarding the caves. The caves would give Grecia the advantage, by controlling the cave network they could sent subterranean invasion forces to myriad nations. By taking holy ground they could strike a severe blow to morale. The superstitious member of Grecia's government believed that by taking Lesbania this mystical connection would somehow hinder the South Lizasaurians. Their invasion was relentless, supplied by corrupt arms dealers and backed by allied governments who knew little of their evil if anything at all the war was one sided. Lesbania fought fiercely and gallantly yet it was all in vain. Lesbania's culture was twisted by the wiles of the cult. Lesbania was renowned for being an observant and perceptive people with lots of technological knowhow. The Grecians employed many cruel and phychological measures whilst waging war. The Lesbanians were devestated, many parts of their culture and way of life were destroyed, all those who refused to convert were mass murdered. After the war the people were turned into dull minded servants, however some scientists were kept alive and their knowledge was passed on to those in the government that way instructions can be sent to workers to properly build equipment. Even though they knew what the parts were and where to put them they didn't know how they worked or what they did. The pain, anger and the desire for vengeance they had remained, but now that the cult had begun brainwashing the conquered nation. The Grecians told the Lesbanians that all the suffering and chaos was South Lizasauria's fault, the Lesbanians bought it, they were brainwashed beyond reason now. The Royalty in Lesbania were not eliminated but rather brainwashed so that Lesbania would become a puppet state and to make gaining the hearts and minds of their citizens easier. It worked. The Lesbanians would later get their revenge, but against the wrong people.

(caves)

Though all cave exits in South Lizasauria were quarintined from the cave's plague myriad nations were fully exposed to cave's plague. The zombies that got out of the cave mouths in South Lizasauria were either contained, caputured or destroyed. Meanwhile the queen of the caves became aware of this, if she was to spread her plague to the mortals it seemed that it would be unwise to continue focusing on South Lizasauria for they were prepared. The rest of the nations that had cave exits however were all you can eat for the undead. Zombies began shambling out of the other exits. Many zombie outbreaks were now occurring worldwide. The zombies carried the plague outside the cave and infected others, through this infection a gateway opened allowing the other monsters of the deep to cross into the mortal world and start wreaking havoc. Giant scorpions, spiritual warriors, beasts and monstrosities exited the cave mouth.

(one week before emergency )

A red van driven by a male human South Lizasaurian citizen of European descent. This man was obviously a nerd or geek because he recorded this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2a-N6nJZPQ) off the internet and was playing it via his car radio. Ironically enough he'd soon be in the exact same situation the poor fellow in the song was.

He passed several indications of danger but thought nothing much of them and drove on. The first sign was a group of crazy looking people in tattered clothes holding up cardboard signs. They resembled doomsday freaks that appear on street corners in the city so the driver mistook them for such and drove on. The next was one of those signs that said "welcome to 'such and such town'" only the actual name was spraypainted over by the word "hell" the next sign was street sign that had "Boulby 66 ave" on it, yet again somebody vandalized it and spraypainted an extra 6 and wrote "death lane" over the original street name. Also, another vandal took the effort of spray painting "no exit" an another nearby sign. The man finally drove into a suburb in hopes to ask directions, as he knocked on the door and waited his car exploded for unknown reasons.

(present day)

The same man now exhausted, his clothes were now tattered and torn, he had two sidearms holstered, on shotgun strapped to his back along with a mcgyvered flamethrower, he had two satchels filled with supplies and munitions, he cautiously carried a crowbar with him which was red from fighting undead and strange creatures. It has been weeks since the quarantine was implemented. He was stuck in there with the other handful of people that survived.

First, he catalogued everything that was out of the ordinary. This was confirmation of the rumors. He would have to get this back to Blankey.

Then, he vaporized everything material that could threaten the local population. Disembodied spirits he obviously could not destroy directly, but the rest was fair game. If there was a malevolent intelligence guiding these things, he wanted it to know as little about him as possible. Knowledge is power.

Finally, he eased into the part of the cave where he had found the freshly-made message, extended his landing feet and set down. When at minimum power, he began to relax his mind, to concentrate in a certain fashion that he had learned by trial and error. His anti-esper-ness lessened.

Things were pretty quiet as the cyborg cleared the cave mouth. He was expecting to find soldiers, and so he had cloaked. He found only the kind of graveyard that one finds after a battle.

"Pete, I'm coming in. I've got evidence of a smart neuro-necrotizing bio-weapon and a variety of mutant life forms. Someone's been busy in the bio-lab. We need to get this out in a hurry."

"Smart neuro-necrotizing?"

"Selectively fries the brain until the subject turns cannibal. Spreads the bio-vector when it goes on the warpath."

"Wow. Sounds like we could use some tissue samples."

"It's more important that the international community learn of this, and see the video. This cave is part of a system of caverns that spreads out all over the place."

"I know. Could be disease vectors coming out all over the place."

"Right. Now, uncloak for a moment and open the bottom cargo hatch. I'm coming in."

The cave mouth revealed an open meadow about thirty meters in length between the cave and suburban complex located on the outskirts of the quarantined city. Many sleeping zombies lay there as others feasted on the corpses of the recently slain. One corpse that was being feasted upon by an undead teenage girl had a cam quarter in one hand and survival supplies in one pack. Explosions and gunfire could occasionally be heard along with mortified screaming. There was also the haunting moans, growls, snarls and roars from the monsters ravaging the city.

"Hurry up," Pete said as the door closed. "We've got motion readings everywhere, but no heat signatures."

"Can you get a visual?" the Metal Man asked.

"Yes, but, trust me, you don't want me to."

"That bad, huh?"

"The place is overrun."

"Well, first thing is to get the data off to Blankey and the boys. Let me know when you're ready to upload. THEN we can go on to the next step."

"Which is?"

"Seal the cave mouth. We don't want any more of those things coming out."

"I take it we're going to make a Sanitation run, then?"

"Unless you've got a better idea."

"Why don't we take one to study?"

"I've seen diseases like this before. When the subject reaches the necro-cannibalistic state, it's usually irreversible. Only practical way is to get a subject who's infected but for whom the disease has not yet run its course."

"How do we even know it's a disease?"

"You know of anything besides a retrovirus that can do that to people?"

"Point taken. Read to upload...uploading."

"OK. Fire main weapons when ready."

In a moment, Brain Jar's guns opened up, firing not on the living, not on the undead, but the mouth of the cave. Pete changed the mix for this one. He set the guns to put a high-energy mix in a matter-rich shell. Basically, it was like a plasma bomb that detonated on contact with any matter.

The South Lizasaurian task force charged with the quarintine of the city noticed TTMM. They did not recognize his craft for they have never seen any like it. They assumed it was a secret weapon from Lesbania sent through the caves.

Radar operator: Sir! Bogey nine' o clock

Lt Colonel:Fire batteries on my command!

*minutes later*

Flak, missiles, heated plasma and other AA from the quarintine base fired at the bogey.

(city)

A wounded South Lizasaurian scientist clutched his arm and ran as fast as his damaged body would take him, he reached a lightly barricaded house and placed his gear as carefully as he could in. He jumped over. A scared and bewildered young woman noticed him and backed towards the wall. "It's ok" assured the scientist. "It'll be approximately 34 hours before the virus finished it's horrid work." "Then why should I allow you to stay?" replied the woman grasping a nearby mallet. "Because of this" stated the scientist as he held out a card. "To kill me prior to infection and to disobey my orders would be a federal offense!" The girl squinted. "You...your with those commando bastards that are keeping us in here!" she yelled. "It's all for the greater good, what is a few hundred people compared to five billion? It was a hard decision but it had to be made. Now if you'll excuse me I have valuable information that my superiors must know, and seeing how you would be unable to give it to them I must find a way to live. Blood sample please." responded the scientist softly. "Pardon?!" interjected the woman. "Give me a smegging blood sample" shouted the scientist as he held out a syringe. The scientist was aware that the virus was beginning to have an effect on him for his aggression levels were rising, but he had to persevere, many lives depended on it. The woman held out her arm obediently. "If this works I then that means there is a cure, and if theres a cure no only will we be extricated from this predicament but so will our nation" said the scientist. The scientist drew blood and filled two vials. He unpacked some of his gear and began looking at samples under microscopes and reading over documents. The old house was turned into a miniature laboratory. Then the zombies came. "It looks like it's time to put our "cure" to a test" shouted the scientist. "But we have nothing to administer the cure with that gives us safe distance!!!" The zombies pounded the barricade. The scientist gave the woman a funny and creepy look. "We have you!" said the scientist with gleaming eyes. "What!?!" replied the woman shocked. "Do you want to save both of us and possibly this town, nay our nation?!" The woman hesitated and the scientist groaned as the virus ate away at his tissue. "Tell me!!! I don't have much time!" "YESS!!!" The woman blurted. The scientist reached into a satchel an with his remaining strength threw it between her legs where the life amulet "crept" out of the satchel. "Behold the life amulet, as much as the scorpion people hold power over death they too hold it over life, the power of life shall reside in you for a time, it will restore life and balance-" The scientist quickly grabbed the vial of blood and held it as he fell and died. The woman then felt something small force it's way inside of her, it was the amulet. It crept deeper and deeper. After it was snug within her womb her belly glowed and produced "life energy" which reversed the infection in all the zombies causing them to fall over. The woman ran outside in fear, she felt pressure inside of her and noticed her belly was swelling slowly, she fell and vomited a little then moved on, after seeing tons of vegetation grow from where she just vomited. She also noticed all the zombies around her would be "zapped" by the energies emanating from her causing them to fall and regenerate. She also noticed all her scars, cuts and scrapes disappeared and healed. Meanwhile the scientist lay there, the others had been revived and moved on in fear of rejoining the dead, a flash of energy came from the veil he clutched. He was revived by the woman however he wanted to test something else. He drank from the veil and soon his wounded form healed. All wounds and damage, be it external or internal healed and on top of that he became 20 years younger. He looked in the mirror and smiled but when five more zombies came knocking he ran to his lab. He took out a syringe and collected his own blood. Now that the life is in me it should enter those injected by this. The scientist waited by the corner, as the zombie came by he injected it and watched as it ran around the room shrieking and wailing, if fell to the floor. He grabbed his crowbar and skillfully destroyed the other zombies. He reentered the house and noticed the zombie he injected was holding a gun. "where am I? What happened?! Who are you! I want answers!" demanded the revived man.
"First of all that gun isn't loaded, ran out of ammo yonks ago, and secondly, though I hate to state the obvious, hell has frozen over in this town and the dead have risen again. Now if you don't want to join them follow me." ordered the federal scientist.

OOC:

It would diminish, but not destroy, any supernatural powers that the "life entity" has. It would, for example, lessen the radius of its "field of effect," making it less well able to rejuvenate zombies. Considering the affect that it has on zombies, this may seem mild in comparison. Since I don't know how strong the "life entity's" abilities are, I can't postulate the extent of the diminution. It would behave, as always, in a boundedly random fashion.

Upon hearing this the commanding officers of the garrison were convinced.

Colonel: Colonel Pesch, upon though our commanding officers are glad to hear that you are safe we must ask you and this "metal man" to go on a short mission for us. It is of utmost importance. There is a scientist on the ground who we sent to do research on the caves earlier this week. Last time he made contact he claimed to have made a breakthrough which could ultimately extricate us from this situation. However we lost contact, all we know is that he's in the infected city somewhere. It is imperative that he makes it back to this base alive. "Nothing interesting down here, folks," the Metal Man's voice came over the intercom. "I'm going on to check out the woman in the field. She's still there, right?"

"Yes," Pete replied. "Sensors now showing two lifesigns."

"Two?"

"Two."

"She's pregnant?"

"Yes, but there's something strange about that second life sign. It's putting out a lot of radio interferance. Not sure what's going on."

"OK. I'll be careful. On my way."

And, in a moment, the Metal Man was out the door and on to the field where the woman lie writhing.

As the TMM approached his anti-esper calmed the creature down, the woman mistook TMM as space corps, it wouldn't make a difference since TMM was openly helping the SLSC out in a rescue operation. The woman got up with shaking legs while still clutching her belly.

In a moment, the Metal Man was standing next to her, taking a hold of her and helping to steady her on her feet. It must have been unusual for her to see a fat old man, dressed in jeans and a blue sweater, fly in through the air and land a few feet from her, but, he wagered, she had seen stranger things today.

"Pete," he said apparently into the air, "we've got a confirmed 'live one. How soon can you get here for evac?"

"Depends," the AI replied. "Pesch, how much longer before you stop playing human yo-yo and we can get out of here?"

"You DO want to come with us, ma'am, don't you?" the cyborg asked.

He didn't want to use the maglevs this close to a pregnant woman, or he would have carried her out. Rather, he led her, arm in arm, toward the warehouse. Pete, he knew, would be keeping a watchful eye out--on him and on Pesch and his group--and would move in as soon as it was safe to do so.

Four of them. Not in any particular hurry. Coming in from all sides. Why they didn't eat each other was anybody's guess.

"Excuse me," the Metal Man said. While he held her with his right arm, the fingers on his left hand slid down at a joint just below the knuckle--a joint that humans do not have. As the skin at the top of the knuckle stretched, a blade slid out from within the hand and sliced it open. The blade extended slightly farther and a small weapon muzzle came out just above it.

"Pete," he said, "things are heating up over here. How much longer until you can get us out?"

"Talk to the rescue team."

He looked at the woman. "I was hoping that you wouldn't have to see this," he said. The weapon flared to life, belching high-energy plasma packets. When they hit, they detonated, incinerating whatever they came in contact with in a fireball.

Wham! Wham! Wham! Three of the four went up in smoke.

"Well," the cyborg continued, "I think I have that study sample we wanted--if Pesch can get off of his lazy butt before it gets too close."

------------

OOC: Dude, the low-levels aren't much of a challenge for something like TMM. By now, the ubermonsters should be taking notice--but there's another twist to this that's waiting to unfold. When TMM finds out that he could have saved the people he has killed, he ain't gonna like what he did.

P.S. Any chance we could get this thread to its close soon? There's another zombie thread starting up and I'd like to participate in it.

The creature within the woman made it's presence known by wriggling around a bit which caused the woman moderate discomfort.

Pesch: Dammit! More undead inbound! I dunno how much the barricade will hold! Over!

Undead smashed at the barricade, bits and pieces of the makeshift barricade and the building befan to bucle and collapse under the pressure of the horde's incessant beatings on the walls.

Scientist: Colonel! As an invaluable member of the SLSC task force I command you to relay this message to that marine out there.

Pesch: Sir, he is not a marine, he's a cyborg I'll explain later-

Scientist: Dammit I want results not a drawn out story. Tell him that that woman is just as valuable to our mission if not moreso, she and the creature within her must be brought back with me!.

Pesch: Yes sir *opens comms* Metal Man do you copy?

Try as he might to evade it, the fourth one just got too close...and was about to suffer the fate of its companions when something dropped it like a stone. As the Metal Man watched, incredulous, it began to slowly regenerate.

"Are you doing this?" he asked the woman.

"N-no," she replied. "It's this thing in--arghhh--inside me."

The Metal Man looked into the woman's womb with his sensors. He could "see" the entire electromagnetic spectrum. All he saw was a perfectly normal human fetus, about five months along, with an artifact of some kind intertwined with its body--oddly, not in any way that was harming the child's growth.

Then, the comms came on and Pesch tried to raise him.

"I copy, Pesch. What's going on?"

"Creature? Oh...merveilleux. Pete, we need to establish a level-2 quarantine. I seem to be safe for the moment. Something about this...whatever it is...cures the victims! It makes them regenerate!"

By now, the palor was starting to leave the "zombie's" skin, and he was starting to look like a sick man instead of a dead one.

"And we're going to need to pick up two evacuees. One of my would-be attackers is fast returning to the land of the living."

The metal man and the pregnant woman now only had one block left to go. The woman's belly bulged out a bit and emitted a bluish glow. The appearance of the creature now was unknown since now the metal man could only see a cloud of mysterious energy swirling around the life within.
[NS]Dastardly Stench
30-11-2008, 17:58
The former zombie's transformation accelerated, and, within seconds, he was moaning on the ground in front of the cyborg and his would-be rescuee. A wave of tension went through the woman's body as the...whatever it was...put on its latest growth spurt.

"The creature's growth rate is increasing!" the cyborg said over the comm lines. "We're running out of time down here, and I can't afford to move the woman given the state that she's in! Pete, we need Brain Jar, and we need her now. How much longer until the first evac is done?"

As he spoke, the Metal Man helped the woman to lie down and placed his hands under her head.
South Lizasauria
30-11-2008, 21:32
As the last zombie fell onto the ground the creature returned to it's 4 month size, there was no longer enough death to feed the creature enough to counteract the anti-esper. The creature was visible yet again.

Woman: Ugh! *gasps* If and when I see Professor Jackass I'm going to shove my-*gasps* it seems calm now. Lets get out of here.
[NS]Dastardly Stench
01-12-2008, 01:48
"Just a moment," the Metal Man said. The man had regained some semblance of consciousness, and the cyborg was able to convince him to come along...

...and they headed straight for Brain Jar...and the warehouse...and the troop of zombies that was breaching the barricade there.
South Lizasauria
01-12-2008, 05:26
The woman stopped and clutched her belly and fell on her knees gnashing her teeth. The cloud became visible again and the creature once again was able to grow, the woman's belly grew to what looked like full term, her belly once again emitted a blue glow which intensified into a white flash. A large bluish white shock wave engulfed the city, the energies revived most of the dead, many hostile creatures fell shrieking as they went and the force of the wave knocked over a few tall buildings. The woman's belly made bubbling noises as it shrunk back to the size it was prior to the spurt. She gasped for breathe clutching her belly, it looked as though she had been sleep deprived. The undead now lay there in a slumber as the supernatural energy reversed the rotting processes and brought them back to life.

Pesch: We're all done are you ready for evac? Over.

"Get over here!" the Metal Man exclaimed. "I'm not sure what happened, but it looks like our newfound mother has had her baby. She needs medical attention! My internal sensors are lighting up with life signs. Pete, can you confirm this?"

"Holy cow," Pete replied. "It looks like Everything is reviving. Even the dead."

"God help us if too many Lesbanians and South Lizasaurians wake up next to each other."

"And God help us if we can't find some way to use this at the other cave entrances."

The evacuees safe within her belly, Brain Jar drifted slowly, carefully over to the field where the others stood. There was really little need to hurry now. The zombies that had attacked the barricade were all alive again.

For a change, things went smoothly. OOC: Ultrasound? There's a full-blown molecular analyzer. He has a matter transporter like the transporter in Star Trek or the Transmat in Dr. Who...and Pete has the rudiments of the software that would allow him to use it as a macromolecular editor. Too bad it's broken down, isn't it? :) :) :)

IC:

"Progress report, Pete," he said.

"The magnetic resonance imaging is a no-go. Whatever that thing is, it puts out enough wattage to run a tank--and it's getting stronger."

"Any chance we could use the Matter Transporter to remove it from her?"

"None. Even if it wasn't broken down, I can't get a good enough fix on its position to try. It could kill her if I did."

If this metal man was a Godhavic ally who went through the proper channels then the information could be given to him freely.

The WASPS were International Special Forces. Normally, they weren't sent in until the trouble had already brewed and somebody was getting it by the vat. They tended to be smart as well as tough, but some of them were loose cannons. The serial number was strange, though. It was the seventh one ever issued. In an organization that was decades old, and a hazardous nature that led to high turnover, it was unusual to have it still in circulation.

Commander: Warrant Officer O'Niel!

WO: Sir!

Commander: I'd like you to do a little research and see if you can verify their claims. Lieutenant!

LT: Yes sir???

Commander: Bring the civillians to sick bay. AS for the foreigners, they shall go with the civillians

The woman was brought in, the creature within her stopped writhing now that the anti-esper stopped hurting which brought the woman a half hour of rest in sick bay however it didn't last long, after the creature regained it's strength it once again expanded. This sick bay was unlike the rest, it was cut off from the rest of the base and security clearance was required by all personnel entering and leaving. This sickbay was secretive, whoever ordered it's construction wanted to make sure that what transpired here was classified. Amazed medics watched in amazement. The woman was as gravid as a woman eight months along. "Doc? I think we'd better take a look at whats cooking in the oven" suggested an aid. Within minutes the doctors were preparing her for ultrasound. After they began looking the doctors looked at the screen (which was facing away from the woman's face so as not to freak her out) and amazement and shock came onto their faces.

Doctor 1: Holy smeg, this isn't like anything I've ever seen before.

Woman: What's wrong???

Doctor 2: That....isn't normal

Woman: Ummm guys?

Doctor 3: H-How is this possible??

Woman: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG!?!?!?!?!

Doctor 1: *turns ultrasound screen to face the woman* It's like there's an entire dimension in there or something.

The screen which was expected to reveal some grotesque life form revealed what looked like a camera recording in the woods. The creature seemed to emanate a special energy which created a miniature world within the woman so that an ecosystem could develop.

OOC: This is just to clarify, this secret medical building/lab is not like a place of horrendous medical experiments, it exists because many troops have been infected with unknown illnesses from the caves that seem to be alien in origin, also since the Commander's priority is containing "epidemic" and to dedicate time and resources to developing a cure with the scientists assigned to him from the South Lizasaurian Scientific division and the SLSC. I just thought of this, the TMM can befriend one of the doctors unintentionally and then ask him/her for the information.

Also there is a miniature world produced by the creature within the woman, within this world is a lush ecosystem, the creature is like the gateway between both worlds so it can take a scaled down animal from that world, give the woman enough durability to hold and birth that animal then warp it into this dimension at a normal size. It sounds weird I know, but hey it's imaginative. ;) The woman is supposed to give birth to five dimensional creatures in specified places along with one fifth of the miniature world she's carrying which will in turn revitalize the area. The creature that she's actually pregnant with holds control over growth so it won't try to come out until after it has fulfilled it's "task" of revitalizing the designated areas. Also the creature's powers allows the fragments of the miniature world to come out small then amalgamate themselves with the environment without causing harm. This is how the undead and the plague is supposed to be defeated. I'll try my best to make this as unmodish as possible, I just figured that an ancient supernatural Goddess of death should be defeated by a newborn supernatural creature or life whose actions counteract the Death Goddess's aka the Cave Queen.

If you have any thoughts, input, questions or objections please let me know.
[NS]Dastardly Stench
10-12-2008, 04:53
OOC: It would seem as though TMM is superfluous to this whole thing. I had suggested earlier that he meet with the Death Goddess and that they duel, but this appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

When I was an instructor in The Federation Star Trek Role Playing Game, I had a unique way of running my sims. I laid down a dull, boring and obvious plot, and challenged my students to derail it with something original but non-violent.

::sigh:: Temptation, temptation...

...in the meantime, however, it would help me a great deal to arrange a meeting between TMM and some of your NPC's if your commander would either throw him in jai--er--quarantine, send him back to his ship, slide him off into the mess hall to keep him out of the way, or some such. :) :) :) Doesn't help the story much to just leave 'em there in the debriefing room.

The doctor was off duty but even then he would harp out the troops for smoking, taking stims and other bad habits the enlistee ranks had. He'd also remind officers not to overuse certain pills. He eventually got tired and got his share of the rations and began to make his way to the table with his colleagues.

OOC: Try befriending the doctor, his character is the sheepish, moralistic altruistic type.

They had taken The Metal Man to the Officer's Mess--a holding area for those not under arrest but not exactly national heroes either. That was where the Metal Man found him.

He looked tired. They all looked tired, but he looked weary to the soul. He was a small man, aging, with a few pointed strips of black but graying hair being all that was left to remind him of a bumper crop gone to chafe. Yet, even now, strung out though he was, his hands held the food tray that he carried with a steadiness that his colleagues couldn't match--and said nothing of, if they noticed.

As he sat, he politely pointed out to the officer in the table next to him that the guanine in the power drink next to him would enhance the man's abilities today only at the expense of worsening them tomorrow. He sat alone today.

Not just a doctor, but a surgeon.

To become a surgeon, one needs the mind of a scientist, the hands of an artist and the fortitude of a battleship.

The Metal Man stood across from him.

"Mind if I sit with you?" he asked.

Surgeon: I don't see why not...

The man felt like smeg but still made an attempt at hiding it.

Gently, the Metal Man plied him. First, he learned, using a picture template that the Carnegie Course teaches:

Imagine, if you will, a man sitting at a desk. On top of the desk is a NAME PLATE. Behind it is a BABY. In the child's hand is a WORK GLOVE. The glove is holding a MODEL AIRPLANE. On the wing of the plane is a HOBBY HORSE.

Each of these represents a point of information that one would like to know about someone else--a question that one can ask.

Obviously, the NAME PLATE represents the person's name--"What's your name?"

The BABY, of course, is a child--"Do you have any children?"

The WORK GLOVE is what the man does for a living--in this case, that was pretty obvious, but it needed to be specific--"So, doctor, what do you do with the patients here?"

The MODEL AIRPLANE represents a means of travel--"Do you like to travel?"

The HOBBY HORSE represents--"What do you do as a hobby?"

Finally, the cyborg got to the question he had actually wanted to ask all along...

"If you don't mind my saying so, you seem a bit worn down. Mind if I ask why?"

OOC: Please answer these questions. :) :) :)

IC:

Doctor: This is tad awkward. I don't even know you.

OOC: The man doctor is about 38, has black hair and slightly overweight with a little bit of an Irish accent. ICly I can't realistically do so until the character warms up to TMM and trusts him.

OOC: He's YOUR NPC, dude! Honestly, what am I supposed to do, read his nonexistent mind and figure out what he likes? Give me a break!

IC:

He started by teaching the man the picture template. Then, he answered all the questions, as asked.

"I am called The Metal Man. Years ago, my body was torn away from me. Now, I wear robot bodies much as you wear a suit of clothes. I cannot have children, but I can teach valuable skills to anyone who will let me. I ask in return only that these skills be used for the betterment of mankind. I work as a Scientific Liason for the World Assembly Special Protocol Services. I am called in when there is a hazard too dangerous for an unprotected human. I am a pacifist by way of life--and that is why I rescued your Mister Pesch and the latest group of people whom you're treating. My work takes me all over the globe, and beyond, but, given the choice, I prefer to meditate and to pursue my hobbies--teaching, writing, inventing. It all keeps me quite busy, and, when I have the right students, quite happy."

Doctor: *eyes light up* Is that so??? Smeg man, I signed on originally to save lives, the military ran short on medics so they started recruiting, they offered better pay and massive tax cuts for those who joined the medical corps, I was sooo good they decided to assign me to the SLSC. Then this hellish commission was assigned to the commander and now on top of saving lives I have to find a way to combat the medical effects of the cave's energy and creatures on people. I can't tell you some things however I can tell you this...I've seen amazing things, and ever since I've been on a quest for knowledge so that it may be used to better civilization. I'm an info addict now, I have to be for this mission. Me and the boys and girls would be glad to listen to anything you want. We could probably show you a few things we made. *smiles*

OOC: The doc and the "boys" and "girls" are all supernerds, they use the advance technology and knowledge they found from the caves not only for the South Lizasaurian government's purposes but to make stuff when they're bored.

"Good," the Metal Man replied. "I love to learn new things. I have a standard set of skills that I like to pass on to those who wish to learn them: reading 1200 words a minute with full comprehension, mnemonic strategies that allow one to memorize any list or recall the location of every card in a deck, standard negotiating strategies--skills that help to set the mind free. I'd be happy to swap, if any of the boys and girls feel that they need these things.

"I also have some advanced telemetry on the woman, and the energy emissions of whatever's inside of her. Your bosses didn't get it because they never asked for it. My AI's been studying them, and he tells me that it's a transdim--a trans-dimensional being. Maybe, if we combine our knowledge, we can figure out how this whole thing works, and how to combat it."

Doctor: I can't just do it just like that, I'll have to get an ok from the commander. After I inform him of your qualifications, capabilities and knowledge he may grant you more freedoms.

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted alot, I'm focusing alot on the Pan South Lizasaurianism RP. ICly a key reason the Meritocracy is advanced is partly because of a few things that happen here.
