James Vermon had been sitting on the private plane he acquired for the trip to Motokata for a day or so; his eyes fixated on some magazine he happened to get his hands on. Being appointed the Ambassador of Myakka to Motokata was an interesting prospect for him since he was growing tired of getting dusty in the attic of the Foreign Ministry and had wanted to be doing something for his nation or, he thought, at least for himself and thus was quite glad when he was given the job from Altair Turenne to represent Myakka in Motokata. James combed his hair quickly with a spare comb he had before looking out the window to see the first views he had of Motokata. The nation looked clear and calm from the air, he thought, and he had only known through intelligence briefings that the leader of it was Kaori Ouda who led the nation. James made a mental note to meet with Kaori when he had the chance; hopefully his charms would be able to convince Kaori to fully have relations with Myakka. The plane soon made a clean landing onto the Motokatan airport's runway and James Vermon calmly walked out of the plane to get his first steps on Motokatan soil. He decided just to wait for the expected escort by reading his magazine.....

OOC: Motokata, you can send someone to pick him up and take him to the meeting.

James Vermon smiled at Kaori as he took his seat while taking out some papers from the briefcase he was carrying around with him. He flipped through them briefly before speaking to Kaori.

"It is nice to meet you, Miss Ouda. I am James Vermon, Myakka's newly appointed Ambassador to Motokata. I am here to clarify some things between our nations. My nation wants to have full relations with Motokata."

"And we certianly want relations with your fine nation."
Myakka

"Since I am my nation's ambassador to Motokata; who shall be your nation's ambassador to Myakka?"
Motokata
16-07-2008, 21:52
"I've called the Secretary of State Otani, he's currently chosing an ambassador. You will know by the end of the day."
Myakka

"Excellent. How about trade? What can Motokata offer Myakka?"
Motokata
16-07-2008, 22:01
"What ever you desire, businesses, steel, copper, herbs, cocoa, we have many resources to chose from natural and manmade."
Myakka
16-07-2008, 23:52
"Those all sound quite appealing to us. Myakka can offer you a variety of things for lumber and gold to silk and wheat and His Majesty, Gaspard XIX, humbly requests a couple of Motokatan books for the Imperial Library as he is an avid collector of books; of all genres."
Motokata
18-07-2008, 00:52
"Then we have a trade deal it seems. We will give you a few books from our nation's finest libraries."
Myakka

"Excellent. Is there anything else that needs to be discussed?"
Motokata
18-07-2008, 02:18
"Perhaps we should sit and discuss our nations with each other. I'm interested to know more about where it is you come from."
Myakka

"That sounds interesting to me. Would you care to go first?"

"Well Motokata is a capitalist country. Everyone has their own methods of making a living and well just day to day life. We have a sub-tropic climate, and we have a mixed culture and races."

"Myakka is an absolute monarchy with a Calvinist majority although there are significant Catholic populations scattered about. We are predominately white with a varied climate and a long and diverse history."

"Ah we are sort of an absolute here. I'm the leader and only leader for life. Sort of like a dictatorship I know, but I'm not brutal to say the least."

"People would still dislike it regardless. Who takes power after you die or resign?"

"My child will take the throne. Hopefully that won't be for a long time. I may give up my power when she becomes 18 and hand it over to her."

"The throne? So I should be calling you Your Majesty?"

"No no, to us Throne is the use of podium. I'm not a queen or a monarch but I am one of the wealthiest women in the country. Please just call me Kaori. That's my name. My title is State Holder."

"Kaori, does your child automatically get to inherit the throne or do you choose who inherits the throne?"
Motokata

"She automatically does, but if I wanted to I could chose. But it has to go through the Trusteeship first. But with out a doubt Yui will be this countries next leader."

Motokata

"What is the Trusteeship?"

"It is a council of some of the wealthiest people. They sort of are the under commission to keep the Government running like it should."

"Doesn't that seem a bit unacceptable to some people in the land?"

"After my husband died, I was given the Throne. Here is how it works really: Okay a State Holder comes to power their positions are mapped out. First the spouse is entitled to the throne, when the couple has children the first born is entitled to the throne. So on and so forth. It's generally rulled the Council can't over rule the course of things."

"I see. Is it possible, though, for the State Holder to bypass the children, that is, name a non-relative their successor instead?"
