I'm still working on it and I'll give anyone admin who wants it to help out. Hopefully we can make this a whole hell of a lot of fun. I had a series running on the II boards a couple years ago called Decisive Battles which was extremely popular, but unfortunately the mod ruling against Alt. history RPs of this nature prevented its continuation. I'd like to get something similar started again. Anyway sign up today!

I won't be just handing out Mod or Admin positions anymore. Some of my more experianced mates have complained about this in advance and thus I'll be reserving it for them. Those who are to be Mod or Admin will be informed.

Well I was hoping to give Admin to people I know well, and with experience (I see you're a July 2008 nation) I'll grant you Moderator Status though.

@Mereshka: Well whatever you're so inclined to do. Skinning would be cool, but not too important to me. I only care about fun stories and RPs, less about mod hammers and looks. There aren't many rules, and you'll all figure out what my few rules are as you go along (and once I pin them to the top of the boards...again I'm working on it :p)

Well, IRL I'm a history teacher, so I suppose I could help with those annoying little historical details. If thats not neccesary, I could do skinning or somesuch.

I'm a HUGE military history buff and i love the subject. And making alternat history looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I kant wait to start and btw kan you make me a mod?

Why should you be mod? You don't just ask for it.

Being a mod isn't about just asking, nor it is about the powah. It's about taking responsibility and helping out the site in a significant way. Not just being there and being the cool man with the stick.

Yeah I just haven't gotten around to making it yet. Like I said we'll do anything that the players want within reason. I don't care if you do a pre-10,000 BC conflict. *shrug*

Well i spent 7 years studying military history from 1890-modern day. I can RP well and i kan help out people who need it in this subject. And alternate history is awsome and ive been lookin for a sight like this.

How about this. Just RP with us for awhile and I'll give it to you eventually. You see, I haven't seen you around the forums before so I can't be assured that you won't simply dissappear. Just have fun and don't worry about the moderation thing ;)

Works for me. now that you meantion it, some pre-history RP would actually be rather fun. Noone would be able to say you're wrong about some little obscure fact.

I'm mainly into WW2-modern day so ill be in that section most of the time probly.

WW2 eh? I've always preffered older stuff, the crusades and whatnot.

It never hurts, but theres a specific forum for each time period. Chances are I'll know what war you're talking about but it never hurts to tell everyone else.

Perhaps a Race for Africa style RP in the Americas, instead of Spain and Portugal dividing everything up between themselves and letting everyone else have North America. Could be fun, Maybe even throw the Vikings, or the Chinese in there for laughs.

Vikings would have owned, had the rest of the continent gotten to the America's at the same time they did. If you think about it, they lost a real opportunity. Had they decided to be more serious about the settlement of North America, this place would all be of viking descent.

What screwed the Vikings wasn't lack of drive or motivation. It was the Little Ice Age. The climate shifted forcing them to rely on fish because it was to cold for most plants including crops, but mainly the grasses the animals they brought with them fed on. As the Little Ice Age got worse, the fish they needed for food moved south to warmer waters.

As epic as the Norse were, they saw the locals as inferior, much as those that created Plymoth were 600 years later. The only difference is that the latter learned how to survive from the locals, instead of refusing to learn from those that had lived there for thousands of years before them.

I know I used the word Vikings, but the term Viking means to Pillage in the Norse langauge. Use Norse instead. Calling them Vikings only furthers the myth that they were unwashed killing machines without culture. Few Norse actually went Viking.

Damn monks were hogging all the loot. The Norse were more ... repo men then pillagers.

Hehe, pretty words to cover the truth. I do agree that they weren't simple barbarian's however. They made some phenomenal strides in seafaring and exploration, as well as being very accomplished traders. They had to have someone to sell the loot to after all.

The most profitable trade they took part in was the slave trade. Ever wonder who put the Slav in Slavic?
