So I enjoy offsite RP's and haven't made one in a while. I am looking for people who are interested in being a part of an offsite RP. I want reliable people who will be active and good. I just don't know what conflict/time period to do. So anyone who is interested, please vote and post any other ideas.

Forgot to add the poll(i feel like an idiot)...
Here are the options I had in mind:
-Napoleonic RP(being different nations from the period)
-American Civil War(running different states and choosing which side to be on)
-Late 19th Century(being different nations in the paternalistic colonial period)
-WWI(being beligerents from WWI)
-WWII(being beligerents from WWII)
-Cold War(being nations from the cold war as it goes hot)
-Modern(one set in modern times with a beginning scenario)
-Modern(start out as the world is today and go from there)

What do you think?

never done a American Civil War rp could be fun

I'd be interested in either an American Civil war, or perhaps Napoleonic.

American Civil War could be fun, problem with the States idea though is that they never work well. The best one I've seen done has two players play the respective Governments (and an army group of their choice) and all other players play as generals in the conflict and go at it with orders from their respective governments. I did a world war two and a Great War RP like that once and it worked out extremely well.

I'd be game for anything from Great War back to Napoleonic Wars. Nothing more recent though, they're done far too often.

Actually, I have an idea to tack onto that: The African Great War, fought between the belligerents of

Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Chad, the Mai-Mai, and Hutus fighting Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Movement for the Liberation of Congo, Congolese Rally for Democracy and ethnic Tutsis. Granted, you can have it so Mozambique, South Africa, and even others get involved. It'd be interesting, different, and I know a bunch of blokes who'd be totally game for it (I'm down as a South African man, but the others are real big into Africa and rather experianced RPers from the early days of NS. Anyway, it occured approximately from 1998-2004, as a result of the First Congo War which resulted in the destruction of the state of Zaire. Back story can be found on Wiki.

I think it'd be sick...heh if y'all aren't game I may just make that myself!

I like the African War idea. It is fresh and I doubt that anyone has ever done it.

You know what might work, a WWII RP, but instead of just doing WWII, we start at the begining, and just keep going, rp after the war, and rewrite the entire second half of the 20th century, just an idea though, just think that centering it on only the war makes it kind of closed ended, this way, nations can lose WWII, it couples both WWII, and the Cold War. Also, it will force players to think about the future, I mean if your just trying to win the war, you could poor everything into fighting, but if there's more, than you may be more cautious to waste lives, money, and equipment, and ruin friendships that may be important later, if you get what I'm saying.

Why don't we do a WW3 RP? That would be fun! Or we could RP the great african war. Only could we include Ghana and Nigeria.

WW3 would basically be the modern with a scenario to set up the war.
The WWII continuation sounds interesting. I like the African War too.

So I think it is down to:
Civil War
WWII+continuation
Great African War
Modern Scenario

So what of those should we do?

I would be willing to do the following:

WW2+continuation RP
Great African War

But a note on the African War one:
I think that if I joined a great African War RP, I'd want to play a European colonial force. I think it would be an interesting twist on things. For example, I'd probably play some version of an Italian Empire who has colonized a portion of norther Africa (probably Libya, Sudan, and Ethiopia; maybe Somalia, too, depending.) Their role in such a war would be an interesting angle to RP, I think.

I would be interested in the WWII + continuation RP.
It is a very fun and interesting way to learn from commanders mistakes in the past and see how the outcome of war could have changed.

If we do an AFrica one, then I claim Ghana.
If an alternate WW2 thing then I claim Italy.

If we do the Africa one I'm South Africa, if we do the World War Two one I'll take Germany.

I will make an African War one. Once I post the link go there to make a claim official.

I will claim Angola if we have the African war RP and Yugoslavia if we do WWII and continuation.

Actualy I'd like to claim Iraq. But since this is fictional this should take place in the mid 80's to mid 90's. And Iraq still has a decent military and they've occupied a small african nation and are in the war. Can I do that PLEASE???

Could we do two a african war and WW2 because i do not believe i know enough bout african war to do one but WW2 is pretty well known.

The story...wanderjar, Africa was your idea. I have read a little about it but could you explain more in depth the story.

In Africa, I am Nigeria. In WWII, I am Great Britain.

I would take Soviet Union IN WW2 unless anyone else wants it as i am relativly new. If not soviet union i would be Norway and Sweden.

I claim Ireland in the second world war and continuation.

Okay. those of you with claims thus far are secure that nobody will get what you have claimed except you. Please no more claims until an offical claims thread is open in the one(s) you want.

I was going to go for the Soviet Union, but hey.

Players with a lot of RP experience should be playing the world powers in the WWII and contination thread including Germany (Wanderjaar), USSR, USA, Japan etc. If you are to play USSR you must be dedicated and on a lot as nations will look to you for relations, war, trade etc.

I have lots of RP experience, and am very active.

Beatus you can have soviet union as i said i don't mind as i am new. Can i have scandinavia (Norway and Sweden) Instead.

Im not sure whether you can have two nations and this would be difficult as Sweden was a neutral country in WWII.

I thought it was alternate history.

Africa is open for claims but I still need a little info before we get it up and going. WWII isn't even under consturction yet so you don't need to argue...yet. If you posted a claim on here for Africa I have marked the nation as reserved but not yet claimed. Just post a claim within 5 days and it is yours. Link to follow in a few minutes.
