Due to the fact that the current flag of the Empire no longer serves as a staunch symbol of the Scandinvan Empire, the Empire had decided to allow foreign artists, designers, etc. to submit their flag designs to the Scandinvan Imperial Flag Commission, with the hopes of possibly adopting said flag as the new symbol of the Empire.

The exact nature of the contest is a general competition amongst individuals, or groups, to come up with a flag that is considered to be a suitable replacement for the current Imperial flag by the previously mentioned Imperial Commission.

However wins this contest will win a grand a sum of one hundred million dollars, full citizenship in the Scandinvan Empire, and shall be granted the knighthood by the Emperor himself.

To note the Flag must fit into the visible spectrum (please present a copy that is of the appropriate to be used as a custom NS flag), cannot use any script on it, does not have a crescent or a curved blade on it, cannot have any anti-Christian symbols on it, and should not have black as the main feature of the flag.

Kirav Vexillogical Systems Message

Greetings. Two of our finest vexillographers, Bandur Softwood and Koren Craimec, have jointly composed two designs for the flag of your glorious nation. Both flags are in the optimal format for presentation [OOC: They're PNGs], but if accepted we can easily alter them into more practical copies for actual use. Also, we will manufacture and ship the first 2,000 units free.

This flag was based on the traditional Scandinavian design of the St. Peter's cross (also known as the Nordic Cross), as a reference to the rich culture of your country. Red inner stripes were added to signify the blood shed in the service and defence of the Scandinavian Empire, and the white cross filling to represent its purity. Blue stands for the Northern oceans and for the mineral wealth of Scandinavia. The Maltese cross is present as a symbol of faith and valour.

This second design was formed by charging the Nordic Cross with an eagle to represent imperial ventures, strength, and nobility. Again, white stands for purity, and blue stands for mineral wealth and maritime power.

The gap between the Eagle's tail feathers is intentional, to make it appear as if the lower portion of the cross is being emblazoned on by the eagle's flight. This can, however, be edited if you wish.

We of the Vexillogical Society of Cookesland would like to submit a design created by one of our members, Soren Lockhelm. It is a simple tricolor of Dark Blue, Crimson, and Purple that also has two alternate designs that can be seen if requested.

The lifestyles are based on traditional practices, conservative tendencies, preserving our ancient ways is considered to be key to our future, individuals tend to work for their personal benefit and for those close to them, the economy is founded upon the principles that is one wishes to succeed they can advance through hard work and superior skills, a pious lifestyle is considered key, and serving the will of the Emperor is paramount importance in the Scandinvan Empire.

The religion of the Empire is a highly conservative form of Catholicism, which has more in common with medieval Catholicism then the more common forms of Catholicism in more modern times.

The national colors tend to be any true hue of blue, dark blue, dark red, and crimson.

To note we sadly shall not consider any Tricolor flag as part of the top ranking tier to become the new flag of the Scandinvan Empire, so the current one you have proposed is not likely to be accepted as the replacement flag of the Scandinvan Empire.

We created the flag below just for you. It's based upon the Nordic cross and is in colors you listed as national identifiers. The crown in the canton represents the Emperor's power and it is placed upon a crimson background because that is a traditionally regal color. The wolf is both your national animal and a symbol of loyalty, honor and courage.

A likeness of your flag is below but we have also enclosed an actual sample so you can see the finished product (OOC: i.e., the attached image is the right size and format while the inline one is not).

After much careful consideration and design, the Faxanavian Vexillogical Group wishes to submit to you the two following designs, modifiable at your request.

The first flag represents many things, incorporating the colors of the empire (dark red and dark blue) as well as a royal purple background to represent the royal heritage of the empire. It is a radial tricolor, similar to Ikurriña, the flag of the Basque autonomous community. The sword in the center represents the nobility, loyalty, courage, and valiance which are so honored by your nation.

The second flag is much simpler, with a royal purple background to stand for the royalty of your nation and empire. A classical Nordic cross is used, blocked open at the center to break it into four representative parts- nobility, loyalty, courage, and valiance. A version with red and blue instead of white is available upon request. The Nordic cross also represents the classical Christianity practiced within your nation, and reflects its effect upon your people.

I hope that these flags are acceptable, and if you have any wishes or alterations to make them better, please contact me as soon as possible.
