Drvarska-Habajan War (MT, OPEN)

Drvarska
07-07-2008, 09:28
Vladimir Orlov, the president of Drvarska was sitting at a large round table in the war room of a secretive Drvarskan governmental building. He was looking over a folder marked "confidential" which contained invasion plans on Habajan. His military generals sat around him waiting eagerly to hear what plan of action he was to take. A few minutes went by and Orlov spoke.

"Gentlemen, it seems that we are to go forward with Operation Eagle. An all out invasion on our hatred enemy of the Habajan."

He paused. The Nation of Habajan has been a Drvarskan enemy for hundreds of years and fought in many past wars. 100 years ago was their last war which ended in a truce as the fight became a stalemate. Now the corrupt nation ruled by a facist dictator has been supporting Drvarskan enemies in recent civil wars. It was now time to end this growing threat once and for all.

"It shall be a tough invasion but our equipment and military has grown more advanced than theirs. Over the past ten years Marshall Haman, ruler of Habajan has entered a military and weapon build up. His weapon industries have been mass producing small arms mainly to arm their militia in time of war. Although what is mainly being produced are AK-47s, G3s, RPK-74s and M-16s. Their current military strength has reached 2,600,000 soldiers and countless militia estimated at 3,200,000. With barely an air force of two squadrons of attack helicopters and no navy it should not be a problem to take out this threat."

The General of the Army stood up to continue as he walked over to a map displayed by a projector.

"We shall have 3 main invasion points. We will be landing at 3 beaches, each with a force of 1,000,000 men. We are sending a total of 3,000,000 men to knock out their forces. We have trained them with the latest equipment including the new XM-8 Assault rifle and Leopard II tank. Our naval force has already been prepared and just 1 hour ago is en-route to Habajan..."

The generals continued to listen and some writing down notes and ideas on the invasion. The General continued.

"However, there is one propblem. Marshall Haman has posted his main I Army near the city of Iraqan which is one of the targets for one of our forces. We need to knock out this threat quickly and effectively... a nuclear strike."

The staff grew silent and one dropped his pencil. The General of the Air Force stood up.

"Is there no other way? Why not just carpet bomb their forces?"

"That would be a waste, the army has blended in with the civillian population just outside the city. The Typhoon class submarine D-19 is currently within range of Habajan and is prepared to fire a SLBM with a payload of 550kt of enriched uranium. This is enough to whipe out nearly the entire army and the city of Iraqan, the projected total of casualties is 12,000,000. It will be a dark day and civillians will die but it will greatly help our invasion."

Orlov stood up

"We will invade tomorrow at 0800. Untill then gentlemen I suggest you start making plans on inland assaults. I have a good feeling we can knock out these facists and get rid of this threat."

The meeting concluded.

This thread is open to everybody but they must follow these rules:

1. Stricly non-NBC Warfare (No Nuclear, Chemical and Biological weapons)
Even though Drvarska is using a nuclear missile, this was used to start the war and no further missiles will be fired. This is a reason for those willing to support the Habajan.

2. There is a limit of 1,000,000 soldiers you may deploy and please keep armour, aircraft and naval ships at a logical level. (Eg. no 1,000 Battleships or 10,000 Fighter aircraft)

3. You do not have control on any other nation other than your own. Habajan is Rp'd by Drvarska unless allowed for another nation to control. This is strictly applied any rp of Habajan and Drvarska will result in the ignore cannon.

We have heard of your cursade and we wish to join you in the fight. However, we are frankly sorry to state that there'll be soldiers of ours coming to aid you because you seem to be combating a force smaller than yours. We don't see the point of aiding you if the nation your attacking is smaller than yours.

Edit: Just realise the troops I intend to send haven't come home yet.

OOC: At the moment its pretty even. Habajan has over 5 million soldiers including militia. If you choose to send 1 million well trained and equipped soldiers it will make it alot harder for Drvarska to fight with 3 million. I may reduce the forces that may aid Drvarska but for now I wish to see how this goes.

IC:

Halverson rested the big wad of papers on the table as he sat down next to the Prime Minister.
This was an official meeting, and there were officials taking minutes, which would probably be burned if ever the operation failed. No-one wanted to take the blame nowadays, especially in the modern society of endlessly bereaved mothers and lawsuits.
The two lines of faces that met him were stern, except for the Minister of the Interior, Kraft, who seemed too jovial to be a politician.
Nevertheless, he was here for the same reason the others were; the Antigran High Parliament was assembled and the subject of the day was war.

Halverson, the Minister of Defence, was sat next to the Prime Minister on his left and the Minister of Foreign Affairs on his right, and the fate of soldiers and nature of letters home was in his hands. The Prime Minister had always said he was a good public speaker, however, and he launched straight into the well-rehearsed script. He was speaking in English rather than Antigran, a germanic language, by legislation for these meetings, but everyone spoke both and they would have no trouble understanding him. He began to speak in his tainted Antigran accent.

"Now, I trust you have all heard of the intelligence report on Drvarska, and of the nature of this meeting. They are, as you are aware, planning an...invasion, of sorts. From the votes, pretty much all of you think it personally reasonable; for sure, none of you liked what happened in their civil war and this is the revenge. Drvarska is still recovering and it's time to finish the game.
I propose simply to offer them a little aid military aid. A few marines dotted around, couple of cruisers here and there, maybe the odd howitzer. Supporters of the notion?"

A chorus of Ja and Yes sounded out as the cabinet voted. The majority had it, and there was no minority.

ANTIGRAN DIPLOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The United Royal Kingdom of Antigr

To: Vladimir Orlov
From: The Antigran High Parliament

Greetings once again, Mr. Orlov.
We will make this communique brief - we wish to offer you military support in your campaign against this old enemy. Both our countries experienced your civil war and it is time to end it's causes once and for all.
The Royal Antigran Navy is large and has worldwide patrols. Two divisions of marines, almost forty thousand men, is at sea, with further garrisons and deployment forces based in Antigr and in overseas territories.
Our key advantage will be our navy, one of the world's greatest, which can land a complement of marines and provide massive inland gun and missile lethality.

Up to 74,000 Marines and Army troops can be deployed, excluding special forces and Air Force field regiments, and not including non-combat troops, which may amount to well over twice that.
I and my cabinet seek to put to end this enemy of yours and all that fought to your aid in the civil war and we want to assist you in your bid to do the same.

I eagerly await your reply and intelligence on Habajan.

I'm surprised Alfegos hasn't noticed this by now. Then we'll have the gang together and we can do some thirty-calibre looting and pillaging. Aaaaaaand fighting for democracy and all that.
On a seperate note, my typing style has changed. Italics will probably either mean one of two things - someone on the radio or someone speaking in Antigran. In this case, Antigran.

IC:

Heavy Cruiser S.R.F. Yttermojärv
Rojhelm Straights, Southern Geranger Sea, Overseas Territory of Geranger

The cruiser was one of the navy's newer cruisers. She had only been assigned to Geranger East Naval Base for a few months, and was out on patrol following resupply and re-crewing.
The first officer was out on deck, supporting himself against the twin 140mm guns of the A turret. Behind A turret was the smaller B turret housing twin 75mm guns and behind that the bridge.
Inside the bridge, orders were coming through rather fast.
From his Colonel friend in intelligence, the Captain had surmised that the government was going on a crusade again.
it had all happened rather fast. First there was the defence minister holding a few bits of paper and the next the Antigran Grand Fleet and the 2nd and 9th Oceanic Fleets were being deployed, along with two army divisions and what must be half of the marines.

The Yttermojärv was part of the lattermost, the 9th Oceanic Fleet, one of the newer fleets, but still with a proud history dating from 1937.
The first officer noticed a marine transport in the distance, to the west, and remembered he'd seen it on radar on the bridge. Looking through his binoculars, he spotted it escort of two destroyers.

"Jonatan!"

The captain's voice broke the eerie calm and he turned round. The captain had his head sticking out of a window, and seemed rather excited. So excited, that he'd forgotten to use the tannoy. Hauling himself up from his perch, the first officer groaned and jogged over to a ladder. Mounting it fast, he climbed up to B turret level, and then up another ladder to the flat front of the bridge.
Climbing around a machine-gun, he finally entered the bridge.

"Ja?"

The Captain began speaking excitedly in Antigran.

"It's big, really big. We're changing course to two-seven-three and heading to meet up with the 5th Destroyer Flotilla several dozen miles away. Then, we pick up another cruiser, a helicopter cruiser, a light carrier, three transports, rendezvous with the 2nd Submarine Flotilla and join elements of the Grand Fleet sailing from Killinki, Ovsjo, Stjarnöhämn, Ingelstorp, and Jons-Erskolen, namely three fire-support ships and nine fleet carriers.
Then pick up the gunfire-support cruisers at Volmjov - the old ones with the automatic-loading rapid-fire eight-inch guns, which will be fun - and then join the main fleet"

The Captain took in a gasp of air and handed the orders over. The list, and it was a generalised list, of friendly forces merely to pick up along the way was massive. He doffed his hat and walked down to the navigations room.

Dear Comrades,

A war raged between my nation and the nation of Kurzhivsk for most of last year. We were invaded, and a neutron bomb was destined to be dropped on our capital, Boryslav. Fortunately, our scientists had been working on advanced weaponry for a long time, in total secret, and we had a chance to survive.

The bomb never went off in Boryslav, as the Tupoljev aircraft carrying it was brought down by an air-based particle cannon. It crashed before it left Kurzhivsky airspace, and landed in Dhor, a city in the industrial heartland of Kurzhivsk.

There was almost a ninety-eight percent chance that the bomb would not detonate; in any case, we did not wish for it to crash in a populated area. However, no fewer than two-million people died, and Dhor became a ghost town, simply because the bomb had a faulty "trip wire" system and detonated when the plane went down.

So, we know firsthand the evils of nuclear weapons, and the one you speak of using, an actual nuclear bomb will not only wipe out a city full of civilians, but the fallout and the firestorm will spread around the land for many hundreds, even thousands of miles.

When we managed to break the Kurzhivsky invasion force, we used a "Blitzkrieg-style" tactic, and arrived at their capital city in a matter of weeks; we wanted their government to pay for their crimes, and for the people to know who really wiped out Dhor. Their propaganda-filled news agencies had told them it was Solyhniya, but by spreading the truth about their government, most people of Kurzhivsk turned against them ane rebelled; around five-hundred thousand of their soldiers formed their own splinter group and helped us take back the city.

My point is that wars can be fought without nuclear weapons. For a long time, Habajan and Kurzhivsk were launching black ops against us and our allies, and although we have stamped out Stalinism in Kurzhivsk, the war is not over yet.

We wish to send an expeditionary force to Iraqan. We promise to neutralise the city in three months, in an effort to prevent more innocent deaths from a nuclear strike. By using our own propaganda, we will expose the crimes of the Habajan government for all to see.

Please state your response, either through telegram or other means.

The I Flotilla was now within range of the shores of Habajan. Leading the fleet was the SS "Orlov", a Overlord class Super Dreadnought which has seen service in many operations throughout Drvarskan history. This massive ship was the first to unleash its firepower with 8 30" and 12 other 12" and 18" guns as well as 60 firestorm missile launchers loaded with HE rounds.

The Habajan coastal defence was in for a big surprise as the barrage began destroying everything on the surfrace near Uza where Force A will land.

The senior Spetzpol surveillance officer jumped out of his skin as he saw the missile rising from the submarine. Calling ranks of staff, he had messages and orders passed, and within five minutes, Prezydent Jasonovič was looking at the same spy satellite images as Officer Vasiljuk.

"Good God, they're not actually going to do it, are they?" Vasiljuk did not change his facial expression.
"It looks like they are. After we offered aid, they're still going to do it."
"Damn it! We can't let them raze that city."

Prezydent Jasonovič pulled a satellite phone from his pocket, and dialed a number. He then asked to speak to President Orlov, claiming it was urgent...

OOC: Sorry mate, we're rather notorious for spying, and if there's a nuclear submarine within SLBM distance of a major target, then what are supposed to expect? We don't know the target anyway.

Vladimir Orlov ordered a radio transmission to be sent to D-19 to fire the SLBM. It would take two minutes for the transmission to get through as it must go over a very secure line and frequency which takes time. An officer rushed into the room holding a phone.

"Sir, you have an urgent phone call from the nation of Solyhniya."

"Very well" Orlov said as he picked up the phone.

"Yes?"

Do not threat, our enemy is ill-equipped and lacks experience but they still know how to fire a weapon. Remember your training and I will guarentee you that you will survive."

The troops on board the craft yelled out in honor and the craft approached shore already recieving rounds from RPK-74s and PKMs. It was a matter of minutes before the craft hit the shore and the troops stormed the beach. Tanks were loaded onto craft as well and charged alongside the troops, already recieving casualties as the enemy fought hard using D-30 artillery and T-72 tanks. The battle raged on for an hour before the Drvarskan soldiers could reach the road and continued to fight.

"Yes?"

"Orlov, I'm sorry to admit it, but we've been watching that sub of yours
for weeks. We know you're at war with Habajan, and funnily enough, this very second you appear to launching an SLBM. This is worrying; our experts say that you are in range of three major cities. What the hell is going on?"

"We are at war with Habajan and in order to strike out their Royal Army group near Iraqan we need to use a nuclear weapon. I realise the civillian toll but this is vital to our invasion and its a toll we must take. The orders have been sent and the missile is scheduled to be fired in.... 1 minute. Im very sorry Prezydent Jasonovič, you are a very noble man for seeing this."

"Our men are well out of range of the blast and radiation zone. The SLBM is to detonate in a rural area 20km from Iraqan but the shockwave will level the city. There will without any doubt still be survivors and we will send in troops to maintain the area. Im sorry Jasonovič but the order is going ahead."

At that moment he waited for a status report from D-19.

D-19

Commander Gorbachev received the order from the president. The crew looked on with great excitment and the rush of adrenaline.

"Arm Missile 1." he said.

"Missile 1 Armed." The Weapons officer replied.

"Launch missile on my mark... Launch."

At that moment the missile lifted out of the silo shaking the boat and its crew.

"Missile 1 Launched, Comrade Captain."

The crew let out a cheer and roar.

"And so it begins..." Gorbachev sighed.

The SLBM glided towards its target, only a matter of two minutes before detonation.

The SLBM reached its target and as radar operators watched their screens on board the sub and at the Drvarskan Intelligence Base. The large white flash spread throughout the screen and slowly disappear into fire. The city of Iraqan burst into flames and slowly the buildings were leveled to the ground as the shockwave passed through.

Vladimir Orlov recieved the report.

"SLBM has detonated sir." the radar operator reported.

"Very well, prepare Force C to land." he replied to his Chief of Staff.

"Right away."

Vamperial Knight Commander stepped into the quiet room as he stood tall while the holographic device came online. He watched the room expand in his mind as he stood in the middle of room surrounded by others.

"Vamperial Knight Commander Mavis Davis," started a Vamperial Headmaster Knight. "Give us a detail report of the current situation,"

"We are about 100 Nm from Drvarska and will be reporting to their commander in a moments time after this transmission has being sent," started Mavis.

"One moment," started another Headmaster. "We've stated that your men are to fight under your leadership and no-one else's. You are to be given breifings of where the troops are to go, but under no orders are you to fold into one of their units,"

"Yes master," replied Mavis. "We'll therefore send a transmission stating we have arrive. The aerial fleet is above the clouds until further notice. Headmaster Knight Lee,"

A second hologram appeared which was the hologram of Vamperial Headmaster Knight Lee.

"What is the matter?" he asked in his icy voice.

"Have the engines being perfected?" asked Mavis. "Would they be able to abosrb medium arms fire?"

"The new engines and its armour can absorb up to 8 High Powered Heat Seeking Rockets before they take damage," explained Lee. "However, don't count on that report, we don't know what the Habajanians will be using as rockets,"

Mavis nodded his head as the transmission ended. He took a deep breath as he went into the radio room next to the holographic room.

S.R.F. Tirsdäln
Somewhere Near Habajani Territorial Waters

She was painted black with the blood-red waterline providing a dim contrast as it ran a single, narrow line along her length. She was the Tirsdäln, one of the larger Hunter-Killer submarines in service with the Royal Antigran Navy. The two waterjets were slowing as the nuclear-driven turbines powered down under the orders of the captain.

"Depth under keel"

"157 metres, Captain"

"Boat depth"

"Level at exactly ninety-six metres"

"Rise to snorkel depth, both turbines one-third ahead together"

"Ja"

The submarine began to rise. The Captain had raced at intermittent bursts of flank speed to get to this location so fast. Now, he was sure the Drvarskans had detected him; certainly, they'd be expecting an Antigran fleet anytime soon, and he had sent out some reassuring messages if ever they decided it'd be fun to launch a missile at him.

"Scrap the previous order. Surface the boat, both turbines half ahead together. Bow planes twenty degrees, aft planes fifteen"

Maybe he'd spook some of the Drvarskan navy men. Antigran submarines were quiet, if anything, and he wouldn't be overly surprised if he'd crept up on them. Whatever happened, the list of Antigran ground forces was definite, some already on transports and amphibious ships, the rest being deployed. There was the 18th Royal Air Cavalry Division, amounting to about fifteen thousand men, experienced men having served in Danteri, Dephire, Colstream, Cyncia, and all the other conflicts since 1962.
Then there was the 3rd and 6th Marine Divisions totalling nearly 19700 personnel each, as well as the 21st and 40th Armoured, the 2nd, 17th, and 71st Infantry, plus the 57th Motor Rifles from the regular army. In all 170,643 personnel, 85,210 of which combatants.

Fleet Admiral Hallestrøm paced on the bridge of the battlecruiser. She was a ship for the modern age, despite her class name, and wasn't much bigger than the gunfire-support old heavy cruisers that the fleet carried. She packed five fifteen-inch guns, all forward, one lower triple turret and a higher double, as was the pattern.
She also had major command fittings and was kitted out as a flagship, serving the Grand Fleet well over the past fourteen years, and having seeing twelve amphibious landings, this was just another day at the office.
He checked the distance and yelled to a Lieutenant.

"Have the Drvarskans noticed us?"

"I don't know, sir. Probably, seeing how comparatively close we are"

"Well, send more communications. And keep sending until they acknowledge. Understand?"

"Yes, sir"

We have a few in the centre of the island, and admin offices in the capital. Send the stormtroopers NOW, before the firestorm. If necessary, we could grant their government freedom in Solyhniya in return for..."

"NO. Those men will suffer for their crimes, and I know Orlov wants to give it to them. In fact, that's a brilliant idea...

Captain Venska watched the submarine surfrace 50 meters from their boat. The personnel were already awaiting for it and were lined up neatly alongside the port side at attention standing on the bridge, gun turrets and main deck. Venska called out on a loudspeaker as he saw the men emerge from the conning tower of the sub.

"We were wondering when you would surface! Weve been watching you for an hour now." he said jokingly. The Drvarskan detection systems have evolved greatly since the last time Antigran forces have been with them.

A small motorized boat was sent out to the sub to retrieve its commander and discuss matters of invasion onboard SS "Sokolovska". In the boat was the XO accompanied by 4 guards equipped with XM-8s.

Orlov glanced at his reports and then turned to his Intelligence general.

"What news of the Solyhniya?"

"Nothing sir although we have put Bomber Force Group II on patrol near their coastline. They will never detect these stealth bombers and they have no right to attack us as the patrol along the international water border."

"Very well. I want you to activate Force X, they must be used if they were to interfere."

"Yes sir."

The Intelligence general thought about the last time Force X was used, during the Alfegan conflict they were sent as black ops into the Alfegan homeland to rescue a downed pilot with valuable information. They were successful but lost brave men in this mission. These black ops are among Drvarska's most elite and veteran units. Details of this Force is highly classified.

"Copy that friendlies," replied the captain. "Areas hot and we have no LZ. I purpose we send in an armour squad,"

"Belay that order," shouted Mavis as he entered the room. "We have five aerial assault cruiser's that haven't be baptise yet so I suggest we baptise them in the Fires of War,"

"Alright sir," replied the captain. "Orders to Homeland, Warload, Destoryer, Ashton and the Azzam make us an LZ,"

Onboard the Warload

"Copy that Atlantis," replied the captain. "This is Captain Edward, all hands to battle stations prepare for an assault,"

The aerial assault cruiser came alive as the wheels of the warship moved the heavy cannons to face the innocent surface that was bathed in bloodshed and destruction. Orders were given as the gunnry crews went to their stations as eight heavy battle cannons on each assault cruiser joined in on a heavy barrage.

Captain Edward looked down onto the surface as the barrage was kept up. It was followed by straffing of Dingo and Hunter Fighter Jets that took off from their aerial aircraft carriers.

"AA battery just opened up and fire two missiles," said a voice on the radio.

"Damage report!" demanded Edward.

"No damage and we're returning fire," replied the voice.

Edward watched as the Cyclonic Bombers started a carpet bombing.

'May God forgive us,' thought Edward to himself.

Jasonovyč had refrained from addressing the nation until (if there ever would be) the right time to do so. He was finishing a cup of instant Boršč in the underground War Room when a worried Senior Komisar Vasiljuk hurried in with a file in his hand, out of breath:
"Tovaryšč Preyzdent, Greek tourists holidaying on the Kurzhivske More have been reporting UFO's darting in and out of clouds, even this very second. Some managed to take photographs. I have them here, but they're very blurred."
"I presume you'll let me in on the relevance soon, so let me see them." ordered the Prezydent. He was handed the file, and was taken aback.

Turning to one of the RADAR personnel he ordered an enlarged image of the Western and Southern coastal regions of Solyhniya and Kurzhivsk.
"I thought they were military jets, and just look at the RADAR. There's nothing! They must be stealthed, but the only way they could avoid our detection is to fly low, which means they're preparing a strike! Find out where this are coming from, see if you can contact the pilots of the aircraft. I know it's unlikely, but they could be training, and thus have not heard our airspace-warning. Scramble all regional stealth fighters, and I want H.A.A.R.P. activating. Worst comes to worst, and they'll simply have toencounter a 'vicious storm' and it will be nothing to do with us."
"I'm on my way sir."

Afterwards, the concerned and assertive Prezydent asked his advisors for some ideas as to where the planes had come from. As their suggestions entered his ears, turned into electrical signals and were processed in his brain, he pondered hard.

Lieutenant Steiner of the 8th "Germanski" Division, III Kampfgruppe was leading a group of men through a street in Uza. Using modern day tactics they moved along a few buildings and noticed a Habajan Army flag hanging from a pole in front of a small fenced off building. He ordered his men to storm the building and they used flashbangs and stun grenades to clear it out. There was no casualties and they rounded up 12 Habajani soldiers and 2 officers as prisoners. The report was sent in to Drvarskan HQ and they were ordered to hold their position. The rest of the division began to move by and they were well within a safe sector.

An hour later two trucks turned up with "SS" runes printed on the side, these men belonged to the Drvarskan SS (Schutz-stafel) Force. These were elite and loyal Drvarskans, although throughout history there was hatred between them and the army. A officer emerged from a jeep that followed behind in a clean uniform and holding some papers. He approached Lt. Steiner.

"I have orders to take these prisoners." he said.

"Very well, we shall continue on patrol." replied Steiner.

"Actually as ordered, I am to hold you here for questioning. Order your NCO to take the group forward and meet up later."

"Ok" Steiner said and he motioned for his platoon leader to take control and for one of his soldiers to remain with him, Pvt. Zimmerman was a good friend of Steiner.

The group moved on and out of sight leaving them. A group of SS soldiers equipped with AK-47s piled out of one truck, the other truck was loaded with supplies. Steiner looked on suspiciously and spoke.

"What are the prisoners going to ride back in?" he asked.

"Nothing" replied the SS officer and ordered his men to round up the prisoners.

They were taken over a wall on the side of the street in a group and told to wait there while they were talking. The SS men backed off slowly leaving the Habajani soldiers in their group, suddenly the SS opened fire slaughtering the prisoners. After the fatal massacre, a SS soldier checked the bodies realising one was still alive he pulled out his M9 and shot the man in the head. Steiner and Zimmerman looked on shocked and the SS officer spoke again.

"As you see Lieutenant....?"

"...Steiner you murdering pig!" Steiner yelled and took the safety off his XM-8 and aiming at them, Zimmerman did the same. The SS soldiers responed and all 10 of them rushed over aiming their AK-47s, there was a long silence.

"Who gave such an order!?" Steiner said.

"That would come from General Polkska, Steiner. Now lower your weapon, you are not worth it.... Army, theyre all the same."

Pvt. Zimmerman lowered his weapon and made Steiner lower his.

"Please Herr Leutnant, let us go and away from these murderers." Zimmerman said.

Steiner turned his back and walked away with Zimmerman following behind. The SS piled back into their trucks and the officer back into his jeep, they drove off back towards the reserve line.

"Start landing the troops," ordered Mavis over the radio.

The force landings were successful thanks to the barrage of the aerial cruisers and the small carpet bombing from Cyclonic Bombers. The transport carriers came under fire as the troops rolled out in APC's and Tiger Tanks as the fighting became dense.

In one building, a Lynion Hunter Captain lead a squad of eight and swept through the building as they captured two officers and a handful of rebels. The captain came out with his prize as the major congulated his efforts.

"Cuff the POW's and knock them out cold so they don't escape," ordered the major as the Lynion's secured an LZ.

"Yes sir," replied the captain as the order was granted by the Regulars.

The prisoners were fitted into a prison cell which was lifted onboard an aerial transport carrier. In the mean time, the Lynion Tiger Tanks met with little resistance as the Imperial Lynion Forces secured the landing zone. A Lynion Hunter placed the Imperial Lynion Military Ensigma which was a black coloured werewolf with vampire fangs, hellish coloured eyes, and on a red background.

Dionysios Popodoupolos was standing on the beach with the rest of the Package-Holidayers, watching the black shapes on the horizon, when there was a crescendo coming from behind; the sound of an engine nearing, then coming to a halt. He put his binoculars away, letting them rest on his fat, Hawaiian shirt-covered belly, and turned round, to see a black 4x4 up on the dunes. Four men in black got out, two with binoculars, one with a large black box and another with some kind of stick.

After a few seconds of staring, he and his family were shocked from there skin with a terrible, but faint roar coming from the sky. He saw the black shapes gaining size in the sky as the roar got louder.

He totally missed the military personnel on the dunes; one was tapping numbers into a black box, and another, pulled a cord from the stick, and it began to glow very bright, while the other two got back in the 4x4.

Within an instant, the beautiful, idyllic seaside scene was swamped by torrential rains, and an ear-piercing thunder boomed across the landscape. The roaring of the black shapes was still getting louder as they flew towards the beachhead.

Suddenly, Popodoupolos's "Heineken" parasal exploded as it was struck with lightning. The sky glowed and burnt white, as lightning struck the landscape. The transmission had been recieved and an acknowledgement sent, along with the message that Antigran ground troops would begin landing at the Drvarskan beachead that very day.
Indeed, forward elements of the 14th Oceanic Fleet, carrying with them a fleet carrier, light carrier, and the 57th Motor Rifles Division was much nearer to the beachead. As could be expected, they had been announced by transmission and he wouldn't be surprised if the Drvarskans could see them by now. Whatever happened, they were to stop as close as possible to shore without the risk of beaching or loss of maneuvarability caused by being near beaching hazards, while the Battlecruiser and old fire-support Heavy Cruiser they also had smashed any enemy targets within range of their guns and missiles to pieces.

Not only that, but the carriers had been given orders to launch their flights of DD80 Lightweight Fighters to assist Drvarskans on the ground. The first DD80 shrieked off the flight deck of the light carrier, followed by more, twenty-eight in total from both the carriers. Armed with some AAMs and a great deal of Air-to-Ground weaponry, they only await orders from Drvarskan command.

Approximately five hours until the 57th hit the beaches.

RE: Change of Duties.

Due a recent development in conflicts along the border, Imperial Lynion Forces are asking for all nations involved in this conflict to reconise that the Imperial Lynion Forces are acting as peace-keepers from now on. We are no longer a fighting force but we are here to stablise the border between Drvarska and Habajan.

We also wish to state to all forces that surrender to us, will be treated according to WA Laws and our own POW Laws. The POW and WA Laws being forced onto this are as following:

1) POW's have the right to shelter, fresh food and clean water. This doesn't include any luxury including alcohol and smokes will be limited to one pack a day.

2) POW's have the right to fair medical treatment and all POW's will be tested for diseases, sickness, virus ectra. If any form of what has being stated has being found, they will be vacinated and means will be taken to make them better.

3) POW's won't be inflected with torture unless its a life and death situation such as there is a bomb in the camp. If they give us information by volunteerly, they'll be thanked and given an extra dose of rations.

4) POW's will be sent home to their homelands after the conflict is over or their homeland is secured. This goes out to all nations involve with the conflict.

5) These conditions are also extended to Habajan Forces as well.

"Do you think they'll respond to this message?" asked the captain to Mavis.

"They will," replied Mavis with a smile.

On the ground

"Our roles have changed suddenly by High Command and by those codes and laws, our prisoners stay with us until further notice," replied the Major. "If you have a problem with that, then ask Vamperial Knight Commander Mavis for them,"

Just as he was talking the prisoner ship was starting to ship out to open waters just as the last of the equipment was unloaded. Four Vamperial Knights armed with assault rifles flanked the Major as they watch the SS troops.

OOC: Sorry mate, gotta stop ya there for two reasons. I did mention in rules that this is MT (Modern Times) and no such weapons as this weather changer is to be used. Secondly I did state that these aircraft were at a high altitude, you would not be able to look up and see these stealth aircraft make such a noise. They fly at very high altitudes beyond the human eye that can see them.

OOC: Sorry for double posting, the first was my response to Antigr. No, seriously, it's very old technology. Realistically, in the MT we'd have better stuff, but I decided not to make anything up, since that, it could be argued, would not be MT. Secondly, in order for a stealth bomber to avoid radar, it has to be flying low.

Besides, for now you're safer flying low. DW, I'm sticking to MT rules as with all others.

The SS officer was given strict orders to retrieve prisoners and he will not let the Lynion soldiers get away with it.

"Stop that transport! I must see to your commander, this is urgent matters of the SS." Officer Winkler shouted. The SS soldiers began to approach, there were 70 of them in total, all with the traditional weapon of the AK-47.

OOC: I never said it was the stick. That's obviously some kind of flare.

EDIT: I will always explain a weapon I'm going to use somewhat before I use it. It's basic RP conduct, especially since I don't have a factbook yet. However, I see no need to totally lift the veil on all my technology, since militaries don't do that, and that's equally bad RP.

RE: Cause for Conflict?

Sir,

I have been tasked by my leader, Empress Taunja I, to ask exactly why you have entered into this conflict. We do understand the nation of Habajan has begun a military build-up, but is this truly sufficient evidence that they were making preparations to attack you? Perhaps we don't have all the facts, but it would seem to us an attempt at diplomacy would have been appropriate.

For now, my nation will not participate in this conflict, and will simply adopt a neutral observation posture.

*Somewhere off the coast of a small Habajan island.*

As night settled, the red glow from the other side of Habajan could be seen from the black Ivano aerodyne on the horizon, and distant yet thunderous thuds echoed, disrupting the stillness of the air. The large yet quiet helicopter was about one kilometre from the island, having been launched about one hour ago.

The entirely Solyhniyan crew consisted of a pilot, a co-pilot, a navigator, two gunners and an engineer. The other seven men were sitting on the edge of their seats, ready to rappel down and assault their given target. All of them were wearing ushanki and outfits of black. One had a short-wave radio, and was evidently the comm-officer of the commando team.

*About one hundred yards from the island.*

The radio at the front of the aircraft flickered and spoke:
"This is Hive, repeat: this is Hive: you're cleared for E.M.P."

The co-pilot waved his hand, and the first gunner proceeded to pull a lever. A flash burst from the right-hand wing of the aerodyne, and an A.G.A.R.M. rocketed towards the island, exploding in an even greater flash underneath a plateau.

"Alright let's move, let's move!" yelled the team's Polkovnyk: "Remember, ідіть за мною!"

"No more transport carriers are to land anymore," ordered over the radio Mavis. "It seems our allies reckon we can't look after prisoner's anymore,"

"Copy that Commander," replied the Major on the ground as tension's were growing between the allies. "I've got orders to allow you to talk to Commander Mavis via radio,"

The Major turned around while during a stretch and notice the transport carrier with the prisoner's had vanished.

'Can't see why we can't take prisoner's,' thought the major to himself as he handed the radio to the SS Officer.

"This is Commander Mavis," started a voice on the other end. "You must understand we're folded into one of your units nor do we take orders from you. Kill any of my 60 men on the ground and we'll turn against you now you don't want that do you?"

Winkler spoke to the Lynion commander.

"With all due respect Commander Mavis, the prisoners are to be taken into the matters of the SS for interrogation purposes. We do not intend on shooting your men, we demand that all prisoners be diverted to us and that your men are to return to anti-partisan duty."

"I don't take orders from Drvarska Command and you must understand that and that includes prisoners we capture. If you have a problem with that, your government leaders should've asked us about it but no they didn't. If you intend to engage any of my men don't think we'll extend the POW conditions to your men,"

The major looked around as the Tiger Tanks and Lynx APC's gathered around while the Hunter's and Regular's regrouped.

OOC: Sorry people, I hate OOC as much as you do, I just need to explain this. No, watch the story pan out. I'm not hunting officials atm, since it's your secondary nation and I'd ask you first out-of-play.

I also assumed that, with the geographically archipelagic nature of Habajan, there would be a few islands around. I'm sorry for not before making clearer its positioning; it's about two miles off the North-West coastline, and is the smaller brother of a trio of islands. It is only about seventy yards in diameter, it is eliptical, and there is a small plateau on it. The only plant life are things like lichens and grass. Please pm me if there is anything else you're not sure about, or add me on MSN, and we can Live-Rp.

IC: The aerodyne hummed over to the tiny island, and as the commando team prepared to rappel down, the cargo door opened. The Polkovnyk abseiled first, followed by the other four Cossacks operating Prospekt VK-7 assault weapons, including the comm-officer. Then went the final three, one with a Spashkov A-12 Automatic Shotgun and an assortment of pouches and equipment, the others with scoped Prospekt paratrooper rifles.

The A.G.A.R.M. (air-to-ground-anti-radiation-missile) had flown towards to radio signals being given by the bunker, nestled neatly inside the plateau. The E.M.P. (electro-magnetic-pulse) payload should have knocked out all electrical equipment, at least for a few hours until it was repaired. Now, the bunker's surveillance and distress equipment would be rendered useless. The Polkovnyk was trusting this plan with the life of his men, and was confident that the intelligence data to be collected from this place was in Solyhniya's hands.

The men in the Habajan bunker were startled as the missile hit the side the southern wall. Men scrambled to their feet and grabbed their weapons which included G3s, M-16s and AK-47s. The Bunker Commander Captain Hamud ordered his men to man the machine gun covering the entrance and set up positions, he stood behind a wall with a Uzi in hand.

The SS officer handed back the phone with a grim look on his face, he motioned a signal and all his soldiers began to board back into the trucks. He spat on the ground before climbing back into his jeep and driving off. He turned to his orderly in the seat next to him.

"I want a sniper set up in this area from III Gruppe. Make sure they are not to be seen by the Lynion." he said.

Two hours later, Sgt. Vogel and his spotter Cpl. Schultz took up a position on a large hill overlooking the Lynion landing and supply area. It was almost impossible to see them as they blended in well with the bushes using their gilly suits. Vogel had with him a Barrett 50. Cal sniper rifle while Schutz had a XM-8 with a ACOG scope and silencer attached.

The second gunner yelled back to the cargo hold:

"Keep the platform clear but have Hawkins keep our boys below covered," ordered the captain of an AA platform.

Hawkins had a high powered sniper rifle and lay against the deck of the platform as he over looked the supply route. The rifle's barrel was covered in rags so that the metal wouldn't shine against the sun light as he scanned the area. He looked down on the landscape as a cloud went through them. Hawkins turned on heat seeking sight as he could pick up personel on the ground.

Landing Zone

"All soldiers listen to this boardcast carefully," started the major into his ear piece as he went inside to a building. "New orders, no saluting officers but the three and two finger signal. Command was a new landing zone they found just north of the City of Uze, all units are to bugger out when Uze comes,"

Bugging out

The major climbed into a passing APC as he watched the others start to board carriers. The APC climbed into a transport carrier as the major got out through the back as he appeared in the main holographic room in the transport carrier.

"Master Ice," started the Major as a shadowly, deathly cloaked creature appeared before him.

"This city is secured and its time we moved onwards. Our next target is to secure bugger out to the ocean and we'll be providing heavy air support to our friends," started the creature as a map of the border line between the two nations and 50km's of land showed either side of the border. Marked out was a key city or town they were going to take.

"Alright sir," replied Reaper as he studied the map a little better. "So the entire group is moving to this position here. We then allow increase our air force and aerial fleet numbers and gain superiority over the Habajan's,"

"We have some of the best planes and pilots in the region and we're going to show the world we have that ability. There's already several squadrons and Aerial Carrier Squadrons inbound on our position," finished the creature vanished from the major's sight.

The major stepped out as he looked around the radio room as he got onto the radio and called to his forces below.

"We're bugging out for the time being boys," ordered Major Reaper into the intercom. "And we're about to test our air force to its limit,"

I've being informed that we hope to put aside our differences including the incident about the prisoner's if we're to beat the Habajanian Forces. Our ground forces are to bugging out and be re-located to a nearby military island Lynion is using as they are to help train a size able landing force in the near future. In the mean time, our air force has being stepped up to 300 to 400 aircraft's and this inculdes a few size able Aerial Carrier Fleets. We intend to become your air support and subdue the Habajanian Air Force to its knees. This will enforce Coalition Air Superiority and grant us good landing zones for us to use.

Captain Hamud realised why the enemy would be attacking the bunker. He quickly ordered six of his men to stay at the door. It was well sealed and all openings were enclosed with metal plates including the slats. Captain Hamud made a stop by the munitions room and picked up some grenades and C4.

"Quickly rig these to the control center, they must not have possession of these computers." Hamud yelled to his men. He rushed off to his office and started a small fire in a barrel which he constantly tossed documents and folders into.

The aerodyne was exactly above the plateau. After discussing a plan, the Polkovnyk stood back and the demo expert with the Spashkov shotgun donned a gas mask and rappelled down, and went to ground above the bunker's doorway.

Then, the aircraft moved back round so the cargo bay was in view of the bunker, and the two commandos with paratrooper rifles aimed, ready to fire if anyway disrupted the man on the ground.

Demolitions expert Volkov checked the coast was clear, then crawled down the side of the plateau, and under the gun slat. He glanced back at the aerodyne momentarily before throwing a cyanide grenade into the slat. The grenade would continue to emit the deadly poison for at least another four minutes.

Hearing choking and yelling, Volkov sprang out of his prone position and stood next to the door. He then beckoned to the rest of his gas-masked squad, and they rappelled down and ran towards the bunker.

With himself and two others "stacked up" against the door, Volkov placed charges on the door, and waited for the explosion...

1700 hours, Somewhere near Habajani Airspace

The massive forms of Venkov and Fulier class Aerocruisers steadily approached the war-torn nation of Habajan. In total, 15 of the massive craft were currently participating in what had been deemed "Operation Sledgehammer". Since Drvarskan and Lynion troops had already caused severe damage on the ground, the Volzgradien High Command had decided to send the Aerocruisers as air support. Unfortunately, several fierce storms had severely slowed the Volzgradien column.

"Damn this storm! We should have been over Habajan 3 hours ago!" shouted Captain Alexei Kuritsan as he peered through the reinforced glass windows on the side of the command gondola. They had been running late, something that all Air Captains dreaded. After hitting the glass for a sufficient amount of time, Kuritsan paced back to his command chair. He sat down quickly and glanced over at an approaching comms-officer. Noticing the Captain's stare, the crewman began to speak, "Comrade Captain, we have received a message from the Lynion forces."

Now interested, Kuritsan stood up and jogged over toward the comms-terminal. He looked over at the nervous crewman who was now hastily putting on his headset. "Well what does it say?" Kuritsan replied impatiently. "It says that the Lynion forces are currently clearing an LZ for us. They are expecting our arrival soon." the crewman responded. Kuritsan smiled, "Excellent, they just saved us a hell of a lot of time." He quickly adjusted his own headset before speaking. "This is Comrade Captain Kuritsan to all units. We have new coordinates set. All vessels are to go to max speed and fall into a column formation."

"This is an insult!" he yelled.

Drvarskans are very honorable people and the intrusion of a foreign power is not favoured. They are must welcome to fight alongside the Drvarskans and independently if the situation was critical but in this time as the Drvarskan Army storms the Habajan they are not willing to let anyone do fighting for them. Orlov turned to his generals.

"There is a landing zone for Volzgrad south of Bakan at Force B, currently in Drvarskan hands. It is occupied by the 61st and 72nd Infantry Divisions to assist Volzgraden troops. This is not but an excuse for these battle mongerors to take the glory of invading Habajan for themselves!" he raged on.

"..Sir?" the Feldmarshall of the SS asked.

"Yes? Come now what is it?" Orlov said while drinking a glass of water to cool himself.

"I suggest we sent the 5th SS "Wiking" Division to flank the Lynions. Send in the 500th and 600th Fallschirmjager Battalions to seal off the roads first."

"Yes good idea, see to it at once."

"Very well sir."

The same Captain Winkler was the first to hit the dirt with his men and set up a line along the road, they were armed with XM-8s and some with the traditional FG-42 paratrooper rifle. "I'm only a Captain, sir. But I can certainly relay this to command; a naval bombardment would be effective, but it would be even more so if we could get accurate spotting. Satellites we have plenty of, so I'm told, but they can see down vertically. I think what we ned, to relay fire correctly, is some scouts. Our marines have such scouts, they are equipped with spotting equipment and that way every last 'hidden' emplacement can be taken out. Our aeroplanes can also do some low runs and take out some Habajani armour. After that, you can take your main force and we'll link up with you.

It'll be a delay but it will be better in the long run. And the fact that the enemy is prepared won't compensate for the fact that they are in pieces"

Antigran Grand Fleet, Fourty-Six Miles From The Tirsdäln

"Admiral, what is the situation?"

"Sir, we have the 57th Motor Rifles and elements of the 6th Marines and the 21st Armoured in place near the beach. They've made contact with the Drvarskans and we've sent them confirmation that we'll land soon"

"Then you have my authorisation, let the landing begin. The Drvarskans have already set up a beachead, we merely need to move inland and cause havoc.
Reports on when the other divisions will catch up?"

"The bulk of the forces will arrive at about the same time, except for the 17th Infantry which, as expected, is having trouble deploying from where it is.
The 17th Infantry hasn't done rapid-reaction duty in one and a half years, they're slacking a bit. Next forces landfalling will be the Air Cavalry"

The Beaches
57th Motor Rifles Division

Private Olson watched the Sergeant as he climbed up and mounted one of the open-mount Oten 25mm Cannons, while the other Oten, further forward in a turret, was manned and the ATGM checked.
He was nervous; he'd checked that his SeG-77 and KKS weren't empty or a round improperly chambered fifteen times just in case he'd smashed the magazine with a hammer or it'd magically dissapeared. The Sarge was oddly calm in the landing craft; there was no gunfire, but the feeling was the same. Once you strap up and step onto a battlefield, it changes you forever. The Captain had said they'd be fine, but he knew there were still scattered enemy forces and he knew that just a few miles ahead of the beach there was fierce fighting.

The landing craft travelled at a steady 17 knots, and Olson could sense the beach getting closer. Then, thud. There it was. As the ramp opened, it seemed improper that there was no enemy mortar or machine-gun waiting for them; just a few Drvarskan army and the birds.
The platoon splashed out from the landing craft and onto the beach, jogging. Any moment now, he expected to be mown down in a hail of bullets from a tank, but there was none. Looking to the side of him, an amphibious vehicle overtook them and up onto the crest of the beach.

Not far behind him, a command vehicle carried in a landing craft was about to hit the beach. In it was Lieutenant-General Franzen, commanding the ground forces. Franzen was a popular general, he liked tobe with his men, and as such, wanted to be on the beach before the moment was over.
Landfall had commenced.

On the other side of the door, a Habajani soldier had mounted a PKM machine gun with two piles of sandbags covering two other soldiers armed with G3s. They waited eagerly as the enemy were about to breach the door and their hearts pounding in their chests.

"Copy that."

Serhijuk led his men back out to the exterior, the aerodyne still hovering around. They went prone about fifty yards from the bunker's entrance and waited.

After two minutes, Volkov scurried out and met with his team, with a black detonator in his hand.

We request that when war is over we may build a small base and some airspace in the northern part of your country. This will be a refueling station since your country is located midway between one of our bases and a location of our interest. It costs us millions every week to have fuel planes refuel jets everyday. If this is agreeable are forces will be able to reach your country by tomorrow and are submarines are already within missile range of the fleets surrounding you. They will be able to take them out as we speak. Or at least knock out communication between the ships and the ground forces rendering them blind temporarily. The submarines are at a extremely low depths and are using a sonar and visual "block out." So your enemies have no clue what would hit them if you agree.

2200 Hours, Airspace over Habajan Waters

Two, what could only be described as "fleets" of aircraft were approaching Habajan from two different areas. One from the north, and one from the south. The craft themselves were modified 747-400ER planes, all of them carrying the official seal of Jimzraway. Squadrons of Helicopters, bearing the same seal, could be seen approaching. In total, there was about 40 planes coming from each side of the island, and 50 Helicopters from either side as well. As the two Squadrons of Aircraft crossed over the actual body of Habajan, the now modified rear hatches on all the 747's began to open. The aircraft dropped in altitude, and the troops, and vehicles, began to drop out. The force approaching from the North was dropping just above, about 10 miles, of the 3rd Habajan Division, the one from the South just below it. The sky turned white, even though it was dark out. All the parachutes opening in the sky would cause anyone to look. Three of the 747's did not turn back with the rest. They headed for 7th regiment of the Habajan forces, to drop the extra supplies.

As the troops hit the ground, orders were already given. The two drop zones were each about 10 miles wide, and both were on the edge of forests. The soldiers began setting up defensive positions, sand bag encampments, makeshift bunkers, tents began to go up further back, sniper positions were set up in the treeline, mine fields were quickly laid, turret emplacements, anything defensive you can think of, the Jimzraway troops were setting it up. Most of them were armed with XM8 Lightweight Assault Rifles, or the FN F2000 Assault Rifle, and the snipers were armed with OM 50 Nemesis Mk III rifles. All of them had 24/7-OSS-DS40BN-10 pistols as well. Spread throughout the lines were also caches of RPG-29 rocket launchers, ready to be fired at a moments notice. At the Northern force, Commander Wolf was directing things, at the Southern, it was Commander Fox. Two of the most respected commanders in all of Jimzraway. Both of them had a personal, hand picked team of Black-Ops soldiers, all armed with FN P90 sub-machine guns, and Ruger SR 9 Pistols.

As far as the vehicle drops went, the M-1 Abrams were used to help set up the defensive lines, as well as sitting under camouflage in certain areas to get the element of surprise on the enemy as they neared the lines. The M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems were set up farther behind the lines themselves, leaving the maximum amount of room between them and the enemy. The Hind Helicopters landed in various spots, clearings, etc; to refuel and check their ammo. They did this in shifts of 10 at a time, until all had been refueled and re-supplied. They then began to circle the areas around the defensive lines, waiting for any enemy attack. Fox radioed to Wolf as this was all going on. "Wolf...you know this is a suicide mission, right?" Wolf's laughter could be heard on the other end of the transmission. Then he spoke. "Just like old times, eh Fox?" laughter again. Fox replied. "Exactly...60 so called "suicide missions" so far, and we're still here buddy. Lets rock!" and with that, they began to wait.

Bunker 206

Hamud was having difficulty burning the intel files. The complete darkness meant that he had to search by torchlight. He had no idea what he was burning, only that it was probably important. He knew at some point, the mysterious soldiers on the other side of the entrance at ground-level would probably burn their way through the door soon, and he would have to surrender. He was determined not to tell them anything important, and was willing to die for his cause.

He wasn't so sure about the technicians, however. The only people with all the info needed to control and access the systems in Bunker 206, he questioned their zeal and their loyalty. They may give away vital information to the enemy to save their own skin.

Hamud had made up his mind. Those technicians weren't soldiers anyway, and whatever was going to happen in the next hour, they would serve their cause. He reached for his pistol holster when he felt the whole complex rock and shake for a split second, before he was thrown off his feet, his head smashing against a desk. The sheer agony would have been enough to steal the man's conciousness.

On the ships around the country of habajan, communication between the ships and land forces began to breakdown. Small instruments that looked like buoys were appearing all over the water near the ships. The "buoys" were actually sending out signals of their own which interupted the ships signals. Even satellites signals went dead as the instuments that were supposed to receive them only received snow. These simplistic buoys were acting as a network, jamming all frequencies and signals that the ships were trying to send or receive.

The communication channels began to clear up for a minute and a voice spoke. "Retreat or face destruction...you will be destroyed...your men will burn in the depth of hell...retreat. You have 2 minute to turn your ships around, this will signify your retreat and we will allow you to pick up your men."

The channels became blocked again as communication on all channels, frequencies and etc. experienced the jamming technology that was being used.

The Subs at the bottom of the sea prepared the missiles for launch. They would be able to surface fire their missiles and retreat back to the safety of the deep. The procedure of having the missiles "on" when the tube was not open was incredibly dangerous.

The midget submarines that had dropped the buoy's quickly made their exit. What had saved them from destruction was that the sonar had been knocked out by the buoys. Visual identification was also almost impossible since they were traveling in the murky waters of the coast.\

A telegram was sent to Hamud. "Give us your current status and location we have the first airload of troops coming in"

On the ground, the Kozak team had breached the door, and done a lot of superficial damage to the bunker at the same time. Sand and concrete mixed with the eviscerated remains of three Habajani soldiers lay scattered across the ground.

Behind the mayhem was a stairwell leading down. After clearing the area, one of the commandos through another cyanide grenade down the spiral steps.

But lets just say, that some did get shot AT. As I believe I said in my post, they were modified planes. I didn't specify the modifications, BUT assume that they were basically converted into what amounts to a huge flying tank. Without guns. But even with that, I'm willing to loose 25 of my 80 planes, IF you insist. That still leaves 55 of my planes, which is still a large force.

I assumed you meant radio transition, in which case, a government as advanced as Solyhniya's could be able to track it in an hour. Also, you wouldn't know who Hamud even is, but I let that one slip through for the sake of fun.

To Jimzraway: Sure, but Antigr has one of the best navies in the world, and I think they'd have some proper SAM sites in place. Helicopters wouldn't stand a chance. Seriously though, the North-West is a fairly unoccupied sector. If you're attacking from there, it's likely one of your choppers would see my forces...

Mavis let out a sigh of relief. He sat down in his command chair as he passed the telegram around the bridge. He looked out as he noticed an area that was in enemy hands.

"We got the II Army flanking us but at least Drvarska Forces have gotten off our backs for the time being," smiled Mavis as he bought up the hologram map.

He looked out the window as a Sonic Fighter Jet soared passed them. The telegram was handed back to him with warm smiles on all the operators. Mavis came to the front of the bridge as he watched the operation begin.

"Send two squadrons and two aerial destoryers to escort the Volzgrad Forces, have the aerial cruiser's break formation and start the bombardment and land the 2nd Combine Division," ordered Mavis.

The plan was to punch a hole along the eastern coastline and break through while establishing a beachhead for both Lynion and Volzgradian Forces approaching the coast. This would give the Lynion's a base of operations away from Drvarska and able to make a name for themselves.

Beachhead Omega

"Be thankful we're not seen or treated like sentries, supply convoy escort's or the last unit to be put on the line," said a pilot as a squadron of Dingo Fighter Jets lead the way of an invasion force while the Cyclonic Bombers blasted the enemy positions below them.

"This is so much better Red 2," replied a voice. "What do you think would've happened if we stayed behind?" asked the pilot as he watched the first of the landing forces land on the beachhead.

"Bah!" started Red 2. "Muntiny would've being on Mavis hands. Got any idea how bad they were treating us? I can't understand why we can't have our own prisoner's anyway,"

Red 2's co-pilot turned around as an aerail cruiser came over and started a bombardment in order for the carriers to land. He did a barrel role as the occasional burst of hate was fired upwards.

"Cut the chatter Red Squadron! This is Red Leader and we've got orders to make a beachhead so just do it and cut the chatter," ordered a thundering voice.

Approximately one hour and ten minutes ago, there was a terrorist attack in Boryslav. Four men jumped out of a jeep and began to open fire on pedestrians. One had an R.P.G., and targeted a cafe and a garage.

All in all, forty people lost their lives before security forces apprehended the murderers. After a year of strife, our nation has suffered yet more, but we will not be defeated.

It seems we have caught the culprits. It was old-Kurzhivsk remnant forces who immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, but after scratching the surface, we have discovered direct links between these terrorists and a Habajani black ops cell operating in Kurzhivsk at present.

Therefore, we have no other choice but to make a declaration of war against Habajan.

We suggest that you take your troops and join the I Army advancing along the Northern coastline and knock out the Habajani 6th Army as well as capturing the town of Tanaba and if not already taken, the city of Askabat. We have two armies totalling 1,000,000 well trained Drvarskan troops already advancing along the southern coastline towards the capital. You will find it an honor fighting with the I Army as they are veteran troops of many past conflicts.

As for the Volzgrad LZ, we have a designated landing zone which has been cleared for aerial landing near the town of occupied Bakan by Force B.

Sincerly,

"Hold the armada and await Volzgrad to come first," ordered Mavis.

"What the blazes are we doing?" demanded the captain. "We got orders to capture their capital and now we're backing off how come?"

The captain stood right in front of Mavis as the armada stood in midair. Mavis looked down on the captain as he looked out to the skies with a tear coming down his face.

"We just being informed we'll be too late to take their capital so we're staying put until Volzgrad arrives. We'll then have a plan to punch through," stated Mavis as he went across to the bridge and picked up a clipboard. "Are the Hell Knights ready?"

"Yes sir, we can have them ready within half an hour sir," started the operator. "One other thing sir, a 'Vampire' symbol has appeared for you,"

Mavis was told about the 'Vampire' symbol but also took it as a myth that the military was using the symbol for a top secert operation but he put it aside for the moment.

"Have the Hell Knights ready to use a spear assault on Askabat City. We need all 700 Hell Knights ready to go by midday today. They'll land at an aircraft carrier stationed here, re-fuel and go for the same night," briefed Mavis as the 'Vampire' symbol came up on the main screen.

I'm sending a spear-head assault on the city of Askabat that should arrive their the next day or two days depending on the weather. Numbers are top secert at the moment but it'll be just enough to take and hold the city. And no the numbers are no higher than 5,000.

Orlov looked over the telegram sent by Lynion.

"Is he mad? Hes sending fewer than 5,000 to take the city of Askabat? It is occupied by almost an entire Habajani army with 300,000 regulars and 600,000 militia! He is going to be slaughtered."

Orlov dictated a telegram back to his radio operator.

3rd Expeditionary Force, 850 Miles North-Northeast of Habajan

The Parthian fleet moved forward, hundreds of grey silhouettes cutting through the open ocean on a course to Habajan. From his view on the bridge of the superdreadnought Shah Bahram, Grand Admiral Ardeshir Khordavi observed the movements of the fleet, seeing the formation of destroyers and anti-submarine frigates arranged on the perimeter, with cruisers, transports, carriers and the superdreadnoughts Shah Bahram, Shah Khosro and Shah Ardeshir in the center. Twenty miles ahead, he knew the attack and missile submarines cruised silently, leading the way for the Parthian attack.

A deafening roar came from the carriers Persepolis and Tehran as the ACI-73 patrol meant to replace the aircraft currently in the skies took off, advancing towards the front of the fleet where they would provide cover from suprise air attack.

The Shah's motivations here were quite simple, Habajan would make a useful ally in future endeavors, and what better way to win an ally than to defend a nation from attack? The forces to be deployed were to be quite small, by typical invasion standards, a total of merely 30 mechanized infantry divisions and 10 armored divisions, altogether, about 750,000 men, not a terribly large force when considered the allies had serveral million in the area...

"but then," Admiral Khordavi observed, "the allies wouldn't expect much from his force." The Shah's leading admiral let loose a smile as he pondered aloud, "they consider the key to victory being sheer mass, we can, perhaps, show them the fault in their reasoning."

Official Diplomatic Communique to the Habajan Government

We have noticed the attacks made by the Drvaskan and allied forces against your nation. If we can be permitted, and necessary faclilities exist, we would be willing to deploy a fairly large contingent of aircraft and air defense facilities to support your military against allied attack. All that is necessary is a fairly large airbase in good working order and your consent, if that is provided, the Shahdom offers a stop-gap measure of air power to help turn the tide in your favor until we can provide greater support against the allies.

Let us know if our offer is accepted.

At the second the order was issued all crew rushed quickly to their battle stations and all torpedoes were armed and ready. The sub carried Type 65K torpedoes with 550kg of HE, a deadly weapon to many ships. The submarine was slowed down and maintained radio silence as well as combat silence.

"Prepare to engage targets at 021 degrees, unmarked LHD-1s." Gorbachev ordered. Two Wasp class LHD-1s were marked and prepared to be fired upon.

"Prepare to fire on my mark... FIRE!"

The two torpedoes silently left their tubes and the crew waited in dead silence waiting for the sudden explosions to erupt.

Bunker 206
- two hours and twenty-six minutes since the terror attack in Boryslav.

The armoury door had been opened willfully, as the technicians had no escape from the team of seven highly-trained commandos.

They didn't speak a word of Ukrainian, but fortunately Volkov spoke a little bit of Arabic.

"What is the purpose of this bunker?" yelled Volkov in Arabic, with his shotgun aimed at on of the technicians.

"This is a radar station. We command anti-aircraft guns up and down the North-West coast."

"What else do you do?"

"What else, err, nothing."

Volkov slammed the butt of his gun into the man's neck: "Does anyone else want to tell me? You, you there, stand up, with your hands behind your head. Tell me, what else is this bunker for?"

Looking sheepish, the second technician muttered a quick prayer, and said: "This is a RADAR and SONAR station. We were in the middle of coordinating the re... the... air force."

"Don't lie. What were you coordinating? SPILL IT!"

The other technicians watched, as he said:
"The reinforcements."

"OK, you're doing well, from whence are these reinforcements due?"

"I, I, I can't, don't know."

Volkov pumped his shotgun.

"OK OK, the Ralkovians, the Parthians and Jimzraway are all sending troops." Volkov began to translate everything he had just learnt to his team, and the comm-officer started relaying messages to "Hive".

Serhijuk did not hesitate to start giving orders:
"Alright, Pavluk, lock them up in the armoury, but make sure all weapons are lined up over there. Melnyk, tell Hive to delay evac until further notice. As for this mainframe terminal, it looks like some of the equipment's been superficially damaged, but the main problem is the power, since the command stations are OK and intelligence is kept on solid state hard-drives. However, if we use one of Melnyk's aerials, we can have electricity transferred straight into the bunker from Hive."

Tesla technology was widely used in Solyhniya. Electricity was nearly always transmitted through the air.

Comm-officer Melnyk responded.
"Yes Sir, I'm on my way. I'll find the generator and cut it out of the circuit, before continuing with the operation. It should take about half an hour."

Parthian 3rd Expeditionary Force

“And so they come” Admiral Khordavi observed, “let us show them how they underestimate us at their own peril.” Nonchalantly, the Grand Admiral sipped the cup of tea placed next to him as he gave his order, hearing the message from the two flights deployed to attack the Drvaskans: “Have the arsenal ships blast the fleet apart, give them hell. Initiate Attack Pattern 0034A, with ASW precautions.”

With the order given, radios across the fleet lit up as the carriers prepared launches, but they would not be the first to provide the fire against the Drvaskans, that came from the arsenal ships Qom, Chah Bahar, Bandar-e Abbas, Bandar Pahlavi, and Mehrabad, each as long as a battleship from the Second World War, and as heavily armored, but with over a thousand five hundred individual missile tubes in place of the major gun batteries.

As the vessels fire control computers put the location of the Drvaskan fleet on the heading towards the Parthian fleet into the individual missile guidance systems, the launch tubes of each of the vessels opened, releasing massive gouts of flame and smoke as no less than 250 sea-skimming SSMs launched from the tubes of each vessel, a total of 1250 leaving behind a tower of smoke as the missiles dropped from 300 feet to just 3 feet above the water as they moved towards the Drvaskan fleet, mostly targeting smaller escort vessels, like frigates, destroyers, and cruisers.

The missiles were designed for low flight for a simple reason, to avoid delectability by enemy radar, and although they would eventually be detected once they had closed enough distance, they would engage a terminal pop up on coming into close in defensive systems range, hoping to confuse the Vulcan cannons on most vessels.

The second wave was the so called ASW barrage. 12 frigates unloaded 36 specialized cruise missiles which would drop active sonar buoys in 12 mile increments in front of the Parthian fleet, starting from 100 miles out. The buoys, it was intended, would either detect enemy submarines operating in front of the Drvaskan fleet, or at least clear them away from the front of the Parthian fleet.

Flight Tazkieh (Purification)- Approaching Northwestern Habajan

The Drvaskans had made a fatal flaw in their plans to destroy the Habajanis, in their attempts to secure as much of the country as possible, they had neglected to follow one of the cardinal rules of war- never, under any circumstances divide your forces.

Field Marshall Rustahm Bahari knew that the best option for facing the Drvaskans was to hit them in a single concentrated pattern, splitting the majority of their forces from the smaller body and wiping each individual force out one at a time.

To accomplish this goal, flight Vindication had been flown all the way from Parthia, aerially fueled on the way to Habajan towards the city of Uza. Consisting of 150 B-9 Sariel stealth bombers, each of them carried the payload considered most effective in a first strike situation. Leading them forward, satellite data provided a generalized search area of Drvaskan forces in the area, something fed into the targeting computers of the planes themselves.

As the Sariels approached within 500 miles of Habajan, a pair of radio clicks signaled the bombers to unload their payloads, each dropping four cruise missiles armed with joint stand-off weapons. As the missiles fell from the bomb bays, they rocketed forward towards the generalized concentrations of Drvaskan troops simultaneously selecting high density concentrations before unleashing the massive load of submunitions above those ground forces, a grand total of 145 multi-function submunitions per weapon capable of being individually guided towards armored vehicles, and equipped with shape charges designed to punch through armor.

As the 600 weapons quickly became no less than 87,000 submunitions directed towards the Drvaskan forces near Uza, the Sariels turned for home, allowing the second phase of the plan to come into effect.

Flight Darvazeh-ye Fars- 500 miles north of the Northwestern Drvaskan Fleet

Behind the first wave of Sariels, a secondary wave followed in their wake, and as soon as the cruise missiles fired, the second wave of 75 operating at 80,000 feet unleashed their portion of the operation, they each possessed a pair of AGM-260 missiles, long, slender weapons, which would pose a tremendous danger to the Drvaskan vessels in the area around Uza.

From 80,000 feet, the missiles fell from their stowage bays, quickly activating scramjet propulsion systems and their fire and forget autonomous radar systems. As the missiles approached 120,000 feet, above the operating range of nearly all SAMs, they had chosen targets themselves within the ‘box’ satellite reconnaissance had provided. They would move towards their targets at over mach 8, before activating a terminal dive once they were precisely located above the targeted Drvaskan naval vessels, letting directional thrusters push them downwards, where the combination of gravity and the secondary boost stages would accelerate the missiles to a speed approaching mach 20, as they moved towards their targets. These man-made meteors, designed to punch through the deck armor of super dreadnoughts, were now let loose to set forth devastation on the Drvaskan naval forces in the area, to pave the way for Parthian forces to finish them off.

Flight Ahura Mazda

The Parthian fleet moving towards northwest Habajan now let loose the full fury of its air wings, as the carriers Persepolis, Golestan, Mazandaran, Ahwaz, and Zabulistan let forth their ACI-73D strike fighters, numbering no less than 150, they were joined quickly by the ACI-73 air superiority fighters from the Sistan, Khoresan, Ardabil, Gilan, and Zanjan, which put 200 planes into the air.

Following them, a trio of ACI-73E electronic warfare aircraft were launched in quick succession from the now cleared decks of the Golestan, along with two AWACS aircraft to provide the fleet and fighters with improved radar visibility.

With the planes now in the air, they began to move towards whatever was left of the Drvaskan fleet from the two prior barrages, this time, conserving their ammo and heading towards the edge of the Parthian SAM operating zone from the fleet, approximately 200 miles from the front end of the Parthian navy.

IC: On the first wasp the torpedoes were too close to dodge or even fire decoy rounds. Captain Teleko yelled into the mike,"Prepare for impact." In a mere minute the round hit the side of the ship. The ship began to take on water, there was nothing they could do to save this ship. Luckily for the time being the admiral has closed the bottom holds so the ship would be stable...for the time being. He ordered the men to salvage all vehicles and helicopters. The amphibious vehicles rolled off the deckbay as fast as they could but it was no use 20 of the original 100 vehicles made it. The helicopters had a better chance with 80 of the 100 making it off. The crew and soldiers on board only 1000 of the 2800 made it off alive.

The second ship commanded by admiral Reck had enough time to dodge the torpedo. The torpedo passed 20 meters out of the ships way. It was lucky as for the sub, the torpedoes had made a 2 line pass straight to it. The helicopters that had made it off the first wasp were now like bees. They dropped everything they had into the water. The entire fleet had turned into a wasp nest. The helicopters began their journey to the habajan city as fast as they could.

The Drvarska sub would have had its entire sonar and radar systems beeping as missiles, anti-sub rockets, depth charges, and all the bells and whistles of submarine warfare weapons being shot at the general area of where it was.

OOC:

Really bad idea to have only SSBN submarines, you know. They're big, unwieldy, and is like hunting with a MLRS vehicle, only more stupid. It might kill something now and again, but you will look like a idiot.
And, Ralkovia, you need to do some serious research into anything military because pouring masses of unaimed ordnance into a general area a target may be is one of the most ill-thought-out, ridiculous things I've ever heard.

IC:

The flight of five DD80 Lightweight Fighters were on their reconnaisance run, having just made a high pass over Habajani-held territory. They had encountered no aerial resistance and orders were just coming in over the radio.

"A-Zee all flights, fleet needs recon, recon over grid three-four-two-seven-one-eight actual. Prepare for possible contact with various hostiles, airborne. A-Zee, fleet five-five fourteenth and G, report, over"

"Kilo Flight, confirm Kilo Actual. Turning heading two-seven-one, out"

With that, the jets began to descend and accelerate. The flight commander didn't know what was going on, but it sounded important - the entire 14th Oceanic Fleet and at least half of the Grand Fleet were being redeployed.

S.R.F. Tirsdäln
Drvarskan Fleet

Captain Birkeland gave a quick salute. It sounded pretty urgent, and he jogged outside and onto the deck. Going down to where he had been picked up from the boats and accompanied by his other two officers, he got into the same motor launch that had been used to bring them to the Sokolovska, and the Drvarskan seamen accelerated away from the ship, the launch bumping over the small crests of the waves.
The helmsman slowed as they approached the Tirsdäln and Birkeland scrambled onto the deck, ran over to the sail and climbed inside. No sooner were they safely in than the communications officer came through, giving him a sheet of paper with the orders on.

"Both turbines full ahead together, boat to fifty metres depth. Bow planes twenty, aft planes fifteen. Make speed!"

Within ten minutes of the order being given, over a hundred ships were underway. Fifteen five-aircraft flights of DD80s were moving to recon positions ahead of the fleet and nearly twice that amount landing to refuel and rearm or taking off. One of the two of the 3rd Marine Division's brigades which had not yet landed was being rerouted with the fleet, and a large force of aircraft carriers as well as some of the finest ships in the Antigran navy, those of the grand fleet, were being ordered to intercept along with the entire 14th Oceanic Fleet.

Not only that, but if things got nasty the other Antigran fleet could be quickly deployed, along with the Antigran vessels on international patrol within 500 miles could reach the site in as little as a couple of hours, as well as the possibility, in an extreme emergency, to 'scramble' the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 17th, and 20th Oceanic Fleets from across Antigr and it's overseas colonies.

However, now there was something new. Satellites were showing masses of ordnance being fired at the Drvarskan fleet by what was identified as Parthian forces, luckily the Antigran navy was mooring further away. The situation was not improving. The Antigran strategy was pretty much a protective 'screen', and old but still effective technique, however no ship was designed to purely shoot down massive missiles aimed at it and it only. However, the Antigrans had similar technology and intents; although rushed, the admirals had contingency plans.
Treat thy neighbour as you would yourself, and they intended to do so. The fleet had arsenal ships. Big ones, carrying the newer AM9-series of cruise and ballistic missiles.
It was both that would be launched; both missiles carried submunitions that were designed to attain extreme velocity, beyond the scope of all but the utmost ship defence systems and beyond the capabilities of gun CIWS altogether.

The ballistic missiles would attain much higher velocities than the cruise missiles, soaring up at high speed and soaring down at huge speed, engines screaming and aided by gravity, nature itself, at speeds of up to Mach 21.3, as had been achieved in testing, although realistically it was lower. The design was to scatter over the Parthian fleet at medium altitude, scattering thousands of submunitions with the sun behind it to hopefully offset any missiles sent against them, and they would be few.

It was rushed, but the admirals knew it would work to some degree - no defences were built for this. A single sentence was given.

Being the "ultimate secret agent" is the same as God-modding. It's totally unrealistic. Besides, how are you supposed to wipe all the insignias off your vehicles? Wolfpack 32- 550 Miles West of the Antigran Fleet

35 Jamshid Class submarines moved eastwards at a depth of 1500 feet, close to the edge of the test depth of the submarine. They were spread out over 150 miles, each one separated from the other by miles of Open Ocean. Commanding the center boat, IPS Kaikhosro, heading on a course directly towards the Antigran fleet, Commander Shapur Golzari eyed the command center uneasily.

“This,” he noted “was going to be the effort by the Parthian navy to limit reinforcement to the Drvaskan navy under attack.” He had the necessary tools to do his job, all it took would be a bit of time for the silently cruising submarines to reach 495 miles from their targets, then to unload the “Shah’s Response” on the interlopers.

Satellite information was being updated with the course of the Antigran fleet as regularly as possible, of course, closing enough distance to directly detect the Antigran fleet was quite simply out of the question, as it would put the submarines at excessive risk to do so. Instead, the missiles would be individually targeted using autonomous protocols in their guidance systems to strike preprogrammed radar signatures of Antigran ships.

The hour of waiting intensely brought the voice of the navigation officer to echo across the bridge, “Captain, we’re at the designated point.” Capitain Golzari knew it was time, and with it, made the order, “Deploy the weapons, time delay protocol.” The submarine let loose its ballast tanks, letting the vessel glide slowly upwards to 350 feet below the surface, at which point, the missile tubes in the back of the attack submarine let loose, leaving cylinders which moved upwards to the surface. These cylinders were modified from the original purpose of simply carrying a missile to the surface to fire instantly, instead, to prevent enemies from triangulating the launching submarine by the sudden appearance of a missile, the tube used compressed air to keep the missile at the surface for a predetermined period of time (30 minutes), at which point, hopefully, the submarine would put some distance between it and the missile pod.

Each of the submarines, over the next 5 minutes, deployed 20 missile pods, each migrating towards the surface, before plotting a course to take them south-southeast, towards the southern coast of Habajan.

30 minutes from the deployment of the first pods, a radio signal caused the tubes in the ocean to unleash their cargo, each flying upwards and towards the Antigran fleet, skimming over the surface of the water, with 700 missiles in total.

The submarines, meanwhile, sulked back into the depths and continued south-southwest, running as silently as possible to avoid detection.

Parthian 3rd Expeditionary Force

The Satrap radar systems began to light up as several hundred missiles were detected moving rapidly towards the Parthian fleet. The infamous missile spam which attempted to hit a navy with as many munitions as possible to ensure at least some could get through the advanced naval defensive systems of the day.

Yet, such an approach was not without weakness, it's singular direction of attack made for calculating responses being quite an easy time for more advanced computer systems.

The fleet wide Satrap system set forth interception protocols, with each system being given bearing and radar signatures of missiles inbound towards the fleet, nearly entirely concentrating on the cruise missiles which were much easier to intercept than the terminal diving missiles which moved too fast for any elegant measures to be taken.

At a single go, five seconds after contact had been made, the computer systems of dozens of ships unloaded thousands of SAMs at the inbound missile swarm, preparing a secondary wave as soon as the first had been fired while other computer systems prepared fuel air warhead equipped SAMs to target the terminal diving missiles.

As the first wave of SAMs decimated the incoming cruise missiles, the targetting system set forth the FAE equipped SAMs to hit the terminal diving ballistic missiles, calculating attack trajectories to hit them as soon as they reached the vessels they targetted.

Within seconds, pressure waves of the detonating FAEs pressed against crew members on decks of the vessels thousands of feet below, mostly a success story, but one cut short by missed submunitions raining down on the fleet, too small to be detected, but also to do much damage, they peppered decks of 10 destroyers and 6 frigates, killing 370 exposed crew members and wounding 632 more. Damage was mostly light, but the destroyers IPS Palang and IPS Bahram Chobin lost their weapons systems fire control and radar from concentrated submunitions blasts. The cruiser Khosro Shirin fared worse, with no less than a dozen small submunitions hitting in the same general area, with a single lucky shot penetrating the magazine and detonating the vessel in a spactacular fireball.

As the first wave struck, the second one finally came to fruitition, two waves of SAMs had whittled away at the cruise missiles moving towards the screening layer of destroyers and cruisers, and as the remaining missiles moved in, the advanced CIWS weapons systems dubbed 'steel wall' activated. Essentially multibarreled assemblies of metal storm guns firing steel slugs, they covered a 30 square foot section of horizon with thousands of them, each spaced by less than a few inches, due to the exceptionally rapid firing system which devestated most of the relatively slower cruise missiles, however, failures of calulation or even small changes in the cruise missile paths set missiles flying towards the vessels, causing the destruction or severe damage of 3 frigates, 4 destroyers, and the cruiser IPS Burandokht, which was hit by two missiles and sank with all hands. Moderate Damage was done to a further 3 destroyers and 1 frigate.

Revenge would be swift, and effective, adding to the preordered bombardment of submarine missiles, the Parthian fleet unleashed a salvo upon the distant Antigrans consisting of the the two stage AGM-250. As the missile targetting systems of the arsenal ships worked, no less than a total of 1000 were fired, each activating an air-breathing ramjet which accelerated the missiles to mach 3 as they moved in towards the Antigran fleet, hundreds of miles away.

Once the missiles approached to 80 miles, they would let the second stage collapse, revealing the primary attack mechanism, a supercavitating torpedo which fell into the water, used passive sonar to reorient itself towards it's target, then activated the supercavitating engine which accelerated it at 300 knots towards the enemy ships. If it hit, 600 pounds of ONC explosive would undoubtedly prove sufficent to rip any vessel smaller than a superdreadnought across its entire keel.

Of course, to help support the missiles during the course of their flight, it would prove necessary to add a secondary punch to the attack. The cruisers and destroyers now unloaded a barrage of 250 specialized AC-280 SSMs, designed to target enemy radar, in this case, the radar arrays of enemy vessels. Hopefully, if it worked, the enemy would be left blind.

500 Miles North West of Habajan
I Flotilla

The Drvarskan I Flotilla (known as their own Grand Fleet) began to heavily engage the Parthian Naval Force. The incoming missiles were met with air defense from the many 30 mm AK-630 Gatling guns equipped to ships, these were updated gattling guns with HE rounds that are computerized to enage any sensed incoming missiles. The use of SAM batteries and anti-air missiles also prooved effective as they caused destruction of enemy missiles in air with syncronized detonation. This prooved effective and the sky was filled with explosions causing horrific scenery. However, missiles did come through to ships that were not prepared, in total 5 ships were hit.

SS "Pyotr Veliky" Kirov Class Cruiser
Recieved a missile hit on the port side destroying the front main guns and 4 missile tubes. Still in action (6 men killed, 12 wounded).

SS "Otchayanny" Sovremenny Class Destroyer
Recieved a missile hit in the stern destroying the rudder and propellers. Ship is stationary and still able to fire. (1 man killed, 2 wounded).

SS "Bezuprechnyy" Sovremenny Class Destroyer
Recieved a missile hit on the main deck causing widespread fire to bow. Destroyed forward main guns, missile tubes and sonar. (24 men killed, 46 wounded), Returning to Base.

SS "Bditelnyy" Neustrashimy class Frigate
Recieved missile hit on starboard side, causing damage to waterline and flooding. Recieving casualties. Lower level sealed and flooded. Orders to abandon ship. (72 men killed, 138 survivors incl. 42 wounded).

SS "Bodryy" Neustrashimy class Frigate
Recieved missile hit on bow, causing damage to main deck gun and missile tubes. Fire is spread but maintained. Repairs under way. (7 men Killed, 28 wounded).

Orders were set to engage and immediatly dreadnoughts, battleships, cruisers, destroyers and frigates armed their missiles. In the attack 1,152 Anti-Ship missles headed towards the Parthian fleet on a concentrated range onto their main warships. The missiles included 128 cruise missiles from Battleships and Dreadnoughts.

Missile Types:

RGM-84 Harpoon
SS-N-14 Silex (Cruise Missiles)
SS-N-25 Switchblade
SS-N-22 'Sunburn'

Attack Helicopters were sent out from battlecruisers and carriers to track down enemy laid sonar buoys and destroy them to allow submarines to move freely. They are tracked using sensors that pick up waves which are pulsed out from the buoys themselves. For now the subs which included many kilo class and Typhoon class stayed motionless for now..

A Force of 24 F-22 Raptors and 32 F-111s lifted off the SS "Leningradsky Komsomolets" Nimitz class Carrier and headed to intercept Frigates and Destroyers spread out of AA rage from the Parthian main force. The Drvarskans will leave the air support to its allied nations.

The torpedo that passed the Wasp ship was armed with a magnetic sensor which alters the course of the torpedo. It was targeted on a ship that was near its proposed target and it locked on, waiting for the kill.

The crew cheered in a roar as they scored 1 kill so far, they then resumed to await the second hit.

The Typhoon class sub was vibrating from the explosions the enemy was guessing around them. Captain Gorbachev was bemused at how the enemy retaliated.

"Ready Torpedoes 3 & 4. Aim for forward enemy ships bearing 346 degrees."

"Torpedoes Ready!"

"Fire on my mark..... Fire!"

"Torpedoes Away!"

"Load 5 and 6."

"Loading Sir."

The next two torpedoes were activated with magnetic sensors and fixed on their slow moving targets. They closed in for the kill.

"Fire decoy, Fire hit-hits, Fire SU rounds." The Captain had said. Quickly the ships had unloaded a payload of decoy rounds at the torpedoes. Next were the hit-hits. These rounds used a locator from the ship to aim at the torpedoes. The torpedo hit-hit rounds were now locked onto the torpedoes and the rounds smashed into each other, blowing the enemy torpedoes up. The next round shot from the ship was a revenge attack. 8 anti-sub missiles took off from the ship, these were locked onto the submarine and were fired from the ship. These missiles entered the water and headed straight to the submarine. They would take care of the pesky submarine.

The landing would go on as planned. A radio call was made from some far off place in some dingy remote country(not ralkovia) telling Habajan that unmarked soldiers from a country willing to help were going to land in Habajan. The torpedoes fired in the direction of the Drvarskan sub found it hard to track onto its target. The stealth submarine would not have picked up clearly on the Ralkovian radar. However two of the torpedoes managed to track it down and steered towards its direction. Gorbachev was quick to respond.

"Dive 100 meters, loose them in that trench!" he yelled.

The submarine decended quickly into a narrow rocky passageway which prevented one torpedo from reaching its target and exploded on a rockface. The trench had ended and the sub was in the open.

"Deploy counter measures, full speed to starboard!"

It was a near miss however the torpedo exploded not too far away causing damage to the sub. The sub shook terribly and fire burst into life in the control room.

"Put that fire out! Damage report!" Gorbachev ordered.

Antigran Grand Fleet 2nd Submarine Flotilla

The submarine was on the surface, and her hatches had been closed and crew reembarked following blowing her tanks and opening all her hatches to let in fresh air quicker. They were recieving reports from a destroyer, having recieved a report from a carrier, having recieved a report from an inwardbound air reconnaisance.
The news was worrying, to say the least. The plane was a 'sub-finder', specially equipped with special asdic and sonar suites and it was by chance that it had glimpsed what appeared to be an enemy submarine. After this, airborne recon had been dispatched quickly but to no avail, the submarine had gone. However, one plane had even more worrying news - it had spotted some kind of bright gush of flame, like a missile launch. Ultra-long-range radar had also detected a cluster of some sort, travelling fast.
It was a chance thing, and not something you usually found unless you were looking for it. But there wasn't anything the fleet could do butn wait.

The Captain instincitvely yelled out.

"ALARM!"

His first officer echoed the cry, signalling a crash dive. To the captain's left, a seaman reached a control panel and sent the engines to 'ahead flank' - emergency speed, and red and green lights flashed above him to signal it. The interior white lights flashed on and off aand the bridge crew stood aside as all hands began to race through the ship forward, to get to the bows and make them heavier. In a matter of mere seconds, the submarine had dissapeared beneath the waves.

"Two hundred metres, Bjorn. Fast!"

____

The Antigran ships came with CIWS systems in the form of a dual-purpose anti-missile/anti-aircraft RAM, or Rolling Airframe Missile. Theoretically more effective than any gun-based CIWS with a much larger engagement time, weapons such as the AK-630 or Phalanx having a mere one-third of a second to aim and engage a missile as well as an uncertainty of the warhead or missile being destroyed at all. A missile, however, could be launched at a much longer range and packed a comparatively much larger punch. They were going to need it.

Around the fleet, the smaller ships patrolled, from destroyers down to patrol torpedo boats. Each 'torpedo boat' was more accurately a single brick in a large wall, each carrying at least one RAM launcher, some torpedoes, usually the Antigran standard supercavitating type, and lighter cannon.
One of the destroyers was first to engage the oncoming missiles at long range. Unleashing the much larger medium-to-long-range SAMs from it's Vertical Launch System tubes, a solid wall of missile was unloaded from the fleet. Using infrared and semi-active radar homing, it was a lethal combination and could not miss such a huge target as a large group of missiles.

Next, the RAMs were released, firing at a distance of up to ten and a half kilometres. Flying in, they were designed purely to shoot missiles down and they did so, across the 'front' of the watery battlefield.
After this came the impact. A round figure of fifty-five of the PT boats recieved single or multiple hits, brutally smashing the small craft before they even exploded, scattering burning debris, ordnance, and sailors all around. Fourteen destroyers and seven frigates also recieved hits, starting fires and, in one of the destroyers and three of the frigates, detonated one or more of the ship's magazines. These doomed vessels detonated in a spectacular sheet of flame, sinking immediately leaving burning oil and struggling survivors, and these were few, in the water.

However, the blow was triple; minutes after the impact, supercavitating torpedoes were detected. The Antigrans used them widely but the opposite was not true - the Royal Antigran Navy had on very few occasions in it's past encountered this weapon. They were obviously new - original weapons of soviet origin only managed two hundred knots, and only just, while these reached three.
Nevertheless, the navy had it's coutermeasures - torpedoes never ran too deep and the RAMs could be used against shallower targets, although with less accuracy than it's natural surface-to-air role. Around three hundred and seventy were sent off-course by countermeasures, a further three hundred and fifteen destroyed, and around forty missed, but the remainder careered onwards, causing widespread devastation among the Antigrans, with no less than eighty ships damaged or destroyed.

The third blow was coming. The outside brick wall had been bulldozed but it revealed a far stronger inner defence. Far fewer of the SSMs hit, and although losses were widespread, the navy was on the alert by now and countermeasures and RAMs deployed automatically. A further fifteen vessels were destroyed or majorly damaged.
However, the admirals had a tactic and a saying, and as the english said, "fight fire with fire"
More of the AM-9 ballastic missiles were launched almost immediately, a larger salvo of twelve hundred, a couple of dozen at a time for a seemingly endless hail of them, which would be detrimental to morale, set to explode much lower. By now, a sattelite had focused, and, through the weather, had up-to-date accurate locations of the Parthian expeditionary force. The stream of missiles were computed to space out in flight so as not to 'bunch up' like last time, and although the effect was more concentrated, it would be more lethal.

____

Meanwhile, in the relatively calm presence of Antigr and the city of Auston, King Ottestad had put his signature on yet another sheet of paper. In signalled the green light for patrolling Antigran vessels to be scrambled worldwide and two more Oceanic fleets, the nearest, to be launched, the 5th and 13th.

As a deadlock sweapt over war-torn Habajan, and communication between she and her allies was all but none, the frightened government began to hand out small arms such as M1 carbines to every man above the age of nineteen-years, because the battered, out of date Habajani army would not stand for long against the might of the coalition, once this motionless, trench-warfare sped up again.

The government's desperation was obvious. The people of Habajan were worn down with the years of fundamentalist oppression they had received from their so called "leaders", and their loyalty would be near non-existent, had it not been for the nuclear strike in Iraqan, and rumours of civilian massacres, and the knowledge that Solyhniya, a nation hardened by innumerous wars, was also against them.

OOC: OK, it was good playing with you, Ralkovia. Try not to lose your nation over those wars!

The Prezydent left his podium, and swiftly left the building and entered his car.

He had just made the formal and public declaration of war on Habajan, but he stressed that the war was against the oppressive, Islamist government, and not against the people. The whole speech was translated into Arabic, and the Prezydent asked the Habajani people to hold tight until the blue and gold "banners of liberation" arrived.

After a five minute ride in the armoured Ivano sedan, Zuravčuk arrived at his command centre, and within another few minutes was in the war room, with select members of his cabinet and senior Spetzpol officers, including his advisors such as Vasiljuk.

"I have called you here to make an announcement; it is not sound to land such a large expeditionary force on the beachhead." The Prezydent, who had called the meeting already knew what he would say. "I have studied the situation, and all we are doing is send our soldiers into a deadlock. We must revise our tactics, and concentrate on our strongpoint; fast-moving guerrilla warfare."

His generals looked calm. The Supreme Air Marshal spoke up first:
"An aerial and mobilized infantry assault would be sound tactic. We already control a lot of AA around Habajan, and though, of course, a lot of those sites were taken out once Habajan knew we'd hijacked them, we have still taken them out of play. We are safe to send mobilized paratroopers into the North to neutralise smaller settlements, whilst Cossacks follow and fight a guerrilla warfare in the more difficult terrain in the North East. We can mobilize our mainline soldiers in the beachhead that we will gain. Then, their first stop should be Tanaba."

The Prezydent looked at Vasiljuk as he spoke:
"The Vovky will also be utilised, and will be responsible for reconnaissance and for disrupting the Habajani military."

"Agreed." said Zuravčuk "This plan, previously discussed and named: 'Plan 52' will be carried out with immediate expediency. The coalition will be informed, though the plan will only be outlined, and not discussed in detail until further notice from me only."

A man of about two and a half metres spoke towards the Prezydent's deeply but softly, with a clear but American accent:
"My Stormtroopers are already forty miles from the coast. The North-Eastmost island of Habajan needs to be neutralised, and with armour and air support we can swarm the island in less than a day. It's a naval and aircraft stronghold, but a lot of its garrison have left to fight the Drvarski, and my units are feared and flawless. Our experts have predicted that the island will surrender within a few hours."

"Thus concludes this meeting. Any questions? No? Then good luck, to all of you, to us, to Solyhniya, and to the brave men and women on the ground."

Zuravčuk was known for being unorthodox, but any foreigner watching would be shocked. While studying the battle plan, and watching the three landers from a feed from a Solyhniyan satellite, each with one hundred and eighty stormtroopers, he had a pair of earphones in, and was listening to an eclectic variation of balalaika, NDH metal, and some of the bassiest house music around. The people loved him for it, however. It made him seem more human than most politicians.

As Vasiljuk knocked on the door of his office, the Prezydent pulled out his earphones and stopped the MP3 player half-way through Moby's "Extreme Ways".

"Tovaryšč Prezydent, the stormtroopers are landing in about half an hour. Another forty will land in about twenty-five minutes by parachute, and we have more troopers ready in aerodynes."

"Thanks for the heads up. I'll be in the war room as soon as possible."
