(OOC: This is my first attempt at a factbook. I will greatly appreciate every bit of criticism, critique, and compliment. Also, if there is information that I am missing, please let me know.)

Department of the Interior
The United States of Kinstantia's Department of the Interior has commissioned the creation of this factbook by the approval of the Congress of the United States. The Government of Kinstantia hopes this will assist you is better learning about our nation, it's history, and it's people.
The Government Of the United States of Kinstantia
The government of the United States of Kinstantia is a Federal Republic system of government. The federal government of the United States of Kinstantia is the centralized USK governmental body established by the USK Constitution. The USK Federal Government is broken into three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. A system of "checks and balances" are used to insure that no one branch of government becomes more powerful than the other. Each branch may act on its own, has some power to oversee the other two branches, and has some of its own authority.
The Constitution of the United States of Kinstantia regulates the Federal Government. It's seperates it's powers, forms the framework of the laws of the USK, and grants powers to the individual states and territories to govern themselves by way of restricting the Federal Government.
The History of Kinstantia
A Kingdom is born!
In 1479, a large group of nomadic travellers settled in what is now known as Keilvarga. The settlers lived in harmony for nearly 100 years. However, by 1538, there were two groups vying for power of the nomads, yhe Kliens and the Phillips.
A bloody Civil War ensued. The forces of the Kliens were easily quelled by the forces of the Phillips. In 1544, at the end of the Civil War, the entire clan of the Kliens was eliminated, allowing the Phillips to assume control.
Quickly the head of the family was given the title of King. Kinstan Phillips was the first King of the land, and in turn, the newly formed kingdom was named after him, Kinstantia.

The War of Independence
By 1987, the people of Kinstantia has essentially become slave labor to King Andrew, whom they dubbed "The Evil." He was a tyrannical ruler who believed that the power of the thrown was to gain as much wealth as possible, no matter what the cost.
In 1988, Prince Michael sought a meeting with his father. The Prince, angred by the way his father had been leading the nation, attempted to assassinate King Andrew, but failed. Prince Michael was banished from Huntingdon Castle, and went into hiding.
In 1988, Prince Michael, along with a guerilla army, attacked Fort Yolan Military base killing 1,000 Royal Soldier. When word of this attack reached King Andrew, he sent 10,000 soldiers after his son.
Word quickly spread of the uprising by Prince Michael. Any able-bodied person willing to fight was allowed to join the Independence Army to fight against King and Crown. The war waged on for 5 bloody years.
In 1993, Prince Michael had forced King Andrew and his men to the coastline near Surfer's Cove. Outnumbered 3-1, King Andrew took his life. However, before he killed himself, he sent orders to his top assassin to kill Prince Michael. The assassin succeeded.
In 1993, Queen Claire established a Federal Republic of Kinstantia, eventually to be named The United States of Kinstantia. Ronald Anderson was elected the first President and was instrumental in creating the Constitution of the USK.
