Operation Firecracker *Attention: Greal*

Route1
05-07-2008, 04:44
Parkway, Capital City of The Highway Republic of Route1

President Ron Tyson adjusted his clip-on tie as he slowly stepped up to the podium. In front of thousands of Routians, President Tyson was going to change the lives of millions in his simple message.

"My fellow Routians, we are a proud people! A people that, while happy and content, cannot stand up to acts of blatant imperialism. For too long, Route1 has watched and sat as the rogue-state of Greal attacks mounds of nations. Whether those nations are good or evil is up to the historians. We will stop these warmongering acts right here and right now!
As of now, the Highway Republic of Route1 declares war on Greal. Nothing, be it a diplomatic option or the threats of invasion, will stop us from achieving in our goal; the ultimate destruction of the Greal state."

A thunderous applause ensued, and the President of the noble state walked back towards his limo, headed for the Route1 Military Complex.

Route1 Military Complex, Parkway, The Highway Republic of Route1

"Well sir, our whole armed forces is mobilized and all Republican navies are sailing towards Greal. It is only a matter of time now."

"Excellent. Sent up recruiting stations throughout the country and give Greal an ultimatum; surrender or face destruction.

Route1

"Join the army! You get to kill Grealis!"
"Don't let Grealis eat your babies! Join the Route1 Guard now!"

Posters with slogans such as these were posted throughout the nation, with the intent to recruit millions of eager young men to act as a home guard. In the unlikely possibly that the Republican Army were to be defeated, the Republican Reserve could still protect the nation from the Greali infidels.

Your aggression and imperialism will be stopped right here and right now. Republican forces are preparing for an attack on your homeland. If you so desire, you might be able to see the strength of Republican soldiers. However, we, being the sensible people we are, will give you one chance to stand down and prevent massarce on your side. If you wish for a conditional surrender, then you have 24 hours to reply. Knowing Grealis, we have a feeling that your ill-logical government will refuse the offer, and thus, Republican navies will continue sailing towards your pathetic nation.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, I'm trying to get back into RPing with a nice war RP. If you have any questions, feel free to TG.

Sasha, Greal

President Watson looked at the message from Route1. Not another war to fight. Some of the military was exhausted from fighting ten wars in the last twelve months. But, he had not committed the majority of his military yet. Greal still had a formidable military.

The nation of Route1 had gotten its facts wrong. President Watson didn't recall Greal invading any nation in its whole history. It was just a pathetic reason to invade Greal.

"What is our next move?" asked one of the generals

"I don't know."

"With Greali military forces stretched thin in their neo-imperialist invasion of Deserted Territories (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13765216&postcount=2), an amphibious assault against Greal should prove to be little challenge for the Republican Navy. We will purge the world of this scum! Long live Route1!!"
-President Ron Tyson

Parkway Air Force Base

Hundreds of B-52 were lined up along the smooth tarmac of Parkway AFB, making a final prep before takeoff. Once given the OK by the ramp tower, the strategic bombers lifted off, flying towards Greal. The bombers were escorted by F-22 Raptors, the best that Route1 had to offer in terms of air power.

OOC: Greal: Map? Next post I will begin amphibious assault, so if you want to prevent me from doing that, I suggest part of your next post involve a naval engagement.

Meanwhile, Greal's massive reserves of troops were called up for war. Many of these troops had seen service in several wars, so they were the best Greal would offer. Mobile SAM units (Normally Lyran SAMs) were assembled around the country. The Greal Navy had assembled several large fleets to protect the West coast, while one fleet patrolled the south.

OOC: Greal, since I stopped the Leocardian invasion in your nation, would you like me to support this defense as well? I'll be more than happy to do it....god knows I'm bored enough and need a good war. I'll not contribute more than one Korps, or 200,000 approximately, so it'll be more fair and we can prevent the normal clutter. :)
Leocardia
06-07-2008, 04:31
The Leocardian Ministry of Defensive Operations had been notified on this operation toward Greal. An emergency meeting was held and the truth had been revealed about Leocardia's position in the standing.

Kika Mana, Leocardia's new capitol city

With the new Shujunese leaders in the throne of Leocardia, their decision was made over several emergency meetings in the Greal front. They were informed that Greal has deployed more than 1.2 million soldiers outside of its borders and more than 450 sea vessels. This is an enormous deployment, almost the size of the Japanese deployed army during World War 2. This major deployment gave us the details of the war situation, because it meant terror for the foreign lands the Greali soldiers is encountering and the vast openness the Greal Government created for its homeland. This concerned the Leocardian throne of power, mentally and stragetically. Such a loss for Leocardia could mean a serious loss in the market with the Hegemony. It was very risky and should not be handled like an infant with his toy.

The Leocardian military forces were summoned, as this is a foreign war situation, and that this is the only way to solve problems when diplomacy is obviously not available. Route1 has its intentions, whereas the order of battle for Greal has tensions high at risk. With Leocardian diplomatic relations just at its start of the open, Leocardia is trapped with decisions and precisions ready to count data. Military leaders from all over the nation gathered up in the Red Star Tower, a massive tower created almost instantly in three months and proved its existence with engineering at its perfection, to discuss their plans in Greal.

Several thousands of Leocardian soldiers barred the streets around the Red Star Tower to prevent any luntical protest against the massive military discussion on whether Leocardia should take place in the new Greal front, and it was certain Leocardia should and will, though the new leaders of Leocardia required choices and decisions to be made without solely depending on the leader's could-be-mistaken picks and make the Leocardian people as a whole look bad to the world to see, just like how sickening Jason Batista had killed many innocents. Military deciders had their readying fingers on which to vote for the next election of polls for the situation.

Fellow Routians, we are in this crusade together! But alas, it has appeared that Greal's imperialist allies have shown their true colors. These foolish nations support Greal's imperialist ambitions, as can be seen in its quick approval of the invasion of a completely sovereign nation, Deserted Territories. We will not join the bandwagon of dunces that support imperialism and thus, as the foolish Lord Sumguy, leader of the pathetic Hegemony 'alliance' puts it to create a better peace, we shall make war (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13765056&postcount=1). So, our great people shall follow the ill-logical thinking of these people. WE SHALL MAKE WAR FOR A GREATER PEACE FOR ROUTE1!

Commissar Stuyonovich,
As much as our two nations have differed in the past, we find ourselves on this day fighting for the same ideals. We have conjured up a plan to bring the downfall of the dreaded Corporate Alliance; although I cannot divulge in this communique for reasons of length, we can discuss this over a smaller scale channel

Getting to the point, the nation of Route1 has proven a major thorn in my side for some time now; accusing the state of Greal of warmongering when it is acting to destroy the dishonorable Corporate menace.
With your approval, and the approval from other nations, a joint multinational task force could successfully repel the assault and take it back to Route1's homeland. And we don't want any territory from all this either
So what do you say... Comrade?

Official Response from the Fascist Federation of The Grand World Order

Currently, the GWO Navy is recuperating from several conflicts. However, should the invasion hit the ground of the state of Greal, the Fascist Federation will devote two million troops to the defense of Greal.

We do view the current policy of Route1 with... disgust. We do believe it was Pope Julius who said, "O peace! How many wars have been fought in thy name?". Peace cannot be attained until our species is under one general form of control, with most of our major differences destroyed. We cannot progress when the world is under literally thousands of different governments, and even worse is the fact that many of these nations are Anarcho-Communistic.

Route1, we do wish you would cease. We feel no threat from a nation like yours, and we would have no hesitation in dropping the hammer on your invasion force, should it land on Greali soil. We would have no hesitation in skinning and fileting your force's officers before force-feeding them to the enlisted personnel; nor would we do so in filming such actions and hacking your public broadcasting networks to show your populace how bad their leaders are at management.

At the moment, all Route1 citizens are being arrested by our Civilian Control Units, whom are working with their respective Continential State Police Departments and the Federal Guard ((National/Military Police)). They will be put on Light Industry assemblylines until you either cease your invasion or begin the first battle. Should you cease, they will be permitted to leave their prison lines and live as normal citizens of the Order, or move back to Route1 if they wish. If you attack Greal, they will be permanently moved to Heavy Industry assemblylines, where they will die slow and miserable deaths building our military or other products involving dangerous materials and machines.

Choose wisely, Mr. Tyson. Many lives rest upon your next decision, and possibly your own homeland.

Hundreds of Harriers were launched as Seahawk helicopters hovered around the fleet. The copters began deploying sonar buoys at the flanks and rear of the fleet. Enemy subs hoping to sneak behind the Republican Navy would be detected, and immediately fired upon.

Vice Admiral peered over the horizon with his powerful binoculars, ready to give the order to strike. "Sir, most vessels are in range. We are ready to fire..."

Greal's satellites were tracking the enemy fleets to Greal. Soon, they were within range of the LY589 Hellion Advanced Cruiser Missile (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13525984). Shortly before the enemy launched their Tomahawk missiles, three thousand Hellion Cruise missiles were launched against the enemy fleet.

Meanwhile, Greal F-44 Interceptors (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9992748&postcount=1162) and Eurofighters took off to intercept the enemy planes. Greal pilots were scrambling to their planes and taking off when the first of the enemy Tomahawks hit a support vessel near the carrier, blowing it sky high.

The Lyran defense measures had done good, but half of the Tomahawk missiles had gotten through, sinking and damaging at least half the fleet. The most hard hit were the destroyers, which lost two thirds of their number.

Greal western coast

Massive coast guns on the western coat were prepared. Nearly three million militia, reserve and regular troops were assembled to defend the coast. They would be supported by thirty thousand artillery pieces and several thousand aircraft. They would fight to the last man to defend their nation.

Also, we're pretty sure the nation of Automagfreek commits such "atrocities", yet it is doing extremely well. It is also funny how you claimed Zackaroth's people cannot spell, yet, you've made more errors in that message than he did.

Anyways, we repeat our announcement; should your forces reach Greal's ground, we will not hesitate to slaughter every last soldier in Greal. You will not deter us. We WILL see to it that Greal remains sovereign.

That pretty much sums it up. I gotta write this down somewhere. Anyway, don't think that I can't support this; the majority of the KGB are usually police officers who pay for some of the stuff, while the others go around thrashing my very small neighbours. Not all of my KGB are equipped in such a fashion. The men are supported by convoys that travel from western Stoklomolvi through allied territory to the eastern coast of Greal. Unless you wish to provoke a war with one of my allies, the convoys are pretty much safe.

EDIT: I didn't see your post, Cazelia. I'll reply in a moment.]

Subject: Cooperation

It seems that yes, indeed we have reached a point where we may cease our incessant and unnecessary squabbling to keep a nation sovereign and away from foreign rule. It is as such that we must cooperate to form a coalition in which we will destroy the Corporate Alliance starting with the defence of Greal. It has been noted that the region of Novus Universitas is far to the east of the majority of nations in the world, and any transport from a foreign nation to Novus Universitas will take considerably much longer than it would take for a nation from Novus Universitas itself to other nations. As such, reinforcement may take quiet a long time, if it reaches Greal at all. Travelling from the south-west of Novus Universitas may avoid the brunt of the convoys that Route1 is sending, though travel from the east is undeniably and completely ineffective due to travel times that could be upwards of years or even decades.

Regardless, consider Cazelia to be an allied nation of Stoklomolvi, for the time being. Let us go forward together.

Greali Waters

"This is RRN 057 to 1st Routian Naval Command, we have confirmed bogies approaching Vector 2110 at approximately 45 miles per minute. We are relaying targets to all nearby Routian vessels to engage bogies on our mark.....Fire, fire, fireee!"

Mark 13 missile launchers aboard the frigates targeted the oncoming F-44's with RIM anti-aircraft missiles. Behind the line of frigates, heavier, harder hitting ships began launching Evolved Sea Sparrow missiles targeted at both enemy aircraft and oncoming missiles. Above the fleet, CIWS began peppering the sky with shells in a last-ditch effort to minimize the effect the missile strike. Nonetheless, dozens of frigates were cut down to size, absorbing most of the damage from the attack. A few corvettes which happened to be in the crosshairs of some missiles were sunk as well. Hundreds of men jumped off the vessels as most of them listed, taking in water.

"This is Yellow 7 to Base, over. Beginning primary engagement."

The furious air battle over the two fleets began with the downing of a Routian harrier. A sneaky Greali pilot managed to get at the fighter's 6 o'clock. Attempting to get loose, the Routian was gunned down, it's airframe broken into dozens of little pieces.

"I have one! Got a lock-on! Firing sidewinder....now! *Brief pause* It's a hit, it's a hit!"

With the planes in a bloody duel overhead, the Republican Navy began firing its big guns. Hundreds of 16 inch guns began relentless shelling the already crippled fleet.

"This is Yellow 7, we cannot keep fighting like this...Request back-up... Ohshi- Fox Two, Fox Two!!! I'm hit! Going down... mayday. Fuc-" Yellow 7's Harrier erupted in flames as a missile flew right up the Harrier's afterburners.

More than half of the launched aircraft were already either at the carriers under repairs, or had already been downed. It was time for the real strike. A few thousand Hornets flew towards the battlefield from the huge carriers AMRAAM missiles. Once the Grealis detected them, the missiles would already be at their target. These beyond visual range missiles are able to fire over 20 miles, a very amazing feat. Once the Hornets got in range, they began firing their closer range, more accurate Sidewinder missiles...

RRN 001

"How goes the situation, so far?"

"Well, Admiral, we are taking heavy losses in the air and much of our frigate group is crippled. However, we seemed to have re-gained air superiority...I don't think they expected all of those Hornets to come out of nowhere...Hah..."

"Excellent, keep me informed."

"I shall."

Sasha, Greal

The massive air group that had taken off from Parkway a few hours ago began its relentless bombardment against Sasha, making sure to bomb anything that looked important. In the list of "To Bomb" targets included the capitol building, the administrative district, known troop concentrations, and military installations. However, although the bomber crews were given strict orders to avoid civilian targets, the pilots did as they pleased, targetting whatever they felt needed to be wiped out...

Task Force Talon Patrol Group

Ten F-14D fighters cruised through the sky at mach 1, supported by Seven F/A-18E interceptors flying at about the same speed. They were armed with AIM-54 missiles, AIM-9s and AMRAAMs. At about 30 miles, the formation spotted the Routeian bombers.
"Talon command, this is Viper; enemy bomber formation spotted attacking vital fuel depots and civilians, request permission to engage." reported the flight leader from his F-14D
"Roger that, Viper, cleared to engage; we're sending you backup as well. Go kill some Routeians and make Sasha safe for today." replied Talon command over the radio.
"Engaging targets, approximately 23 miles from target... Missiles away!" Following these words was a flurry of missiles aimed at the bombers. The patrol split formation, and decreased their speed to regular cruising speed. after the first volley of missiles hit their mark, the group fired their AIM-9 for close quarters; after the second volley, the patrol split further apart, with the F-14Ds pulling strait up while the F/A-18Es let go with their 20mm machine guns. The F-14Ds came in out from the clouds about a minute later, firing their 30mm Gatling cannons at the top of the aircraft before flying through openings in the bomber formation.

Sasha, Greal

The Routean bombers would suffer today. They flew across half of Greal just to get to a capital city heavily guarded by more SAMs then the rest of the country. People in the city took refugee in bombing shelters and other places.

Hundreds of Greal F-22s and F-44s gathered as the enemy bombers approached and fired a massive barrage of anti-aircraft missiles when the bombers were within range. SAMs were also firing.

"High speed screws detected, sir. Bearing 91 to 93 Degrees."
"There's a range?"
"Yes, sir. The United's fresh out of Yanitaria's Shipyards, and we're having problems integrating the emitters with our processors."
"One degree won't make a difference in just thirty knots. Lieutenant. Commence Plan 'Hello'. Wolfpack in formation Beta."
"Aye, sir. Rigging for silent running. Depth, 160 Metres. Speed, 10 Knots."

3 HOURS LATER

“Sir, wolfpack reports that all subs are directly behind the enemy fleet. We're safe from detection--for now.”
Passive Sonar buoys had been anticipated. To counter this, the pack had gone completely EM silent, something quite easy nowadays. However, Active sonobuoys were a surprise. Right now, The wolfpack was still invisible. But in 30 seconds--
'Options, Lieutenant?"
"None sir. Either we turn back, or we..."
"We must. Greal is our ally. It is tradition. Wery well. Plan B. We're about to be detected anyway, so might as well still use what measure of surprise we have left. Full speed ahead into their fleet. Fire two torpedoes at two transports, then Fall back under the chaos."
"It's been a pleasure serving with you, sir"
“Very well. Send the message. Fire solution One!”

Normally, the mark 84 ‘backbreaker’ torpedoes were wire-guided, but their internal sensors sufficed for this short distance against an easily distinguishable prop signature. In a pack, they went streaking to destruction.
Their target--The unprotected keels of the troop transports.

"No, cadet. We are here to fight a war. If we are going to die, we might as well kill thousands more with us. There is a nuclear warhead inside of the zeppelin. "Red 1, maintain your current course, I repeat, maitain your current course. When you crash, you'll make a parking lot of Sasha." And with that, the lead bomber, with a blown off wing, began losing altitude. After a few minutes of descent, the B-52 slammed into the metropolis of Sasha.

Although six bombers were downed along with a few escorts, the remaining aircraft kept up its ruthless destruction of Sasha. The F-22 escorts came to life, firing sidewinder missiles at the much smaller foe.

Official Routian Message

The Highway Republic of Route1 honors the neutrality of Tolvan and will be sure that no Tolvian civilian or military hardware is damaged by Routian acts. However, you should watch out for the Greali neo-imperialists, they are fools when it comes to peace.
-President Ron Tyson.

The Greal fleet fired a massive barrage of anti-aircraft missiles, another wave of Hellion Cruise missiles, and more missiles to stop the enemy hornets. The F-44s suffered, but still numbered around four hundred aircraft. Eurofighters launched their antiaircraft missiles also.

The Greal naval fleet was strengthened by hundreds of missile boats, which launched their massive barrage of anti-ship missiles. Greal fighters from the mainland came in support.

The fleet still suffered however from the hornets, half of the battleships were gone, even if the fighters had not survived, they would have no place to land since lots of the carriers were sunk or damaged.

Vertical Launch Systems aboard most of the vessels began re-targetting the remaining large ships. From these VLS came yet more tomahawk missiles. Accompanying the tomahawks were patriot missiles, launched against the Greali land-based fighters.

The Seahawk helicopters that had just finished deploying the Sonarbuoys, began firing anti-ship AGM-119 missiles. With Greali surface vessels being harrassed from the air and the sea, it would be a nightmare to attempt an effective counter-attack.

A few dozen Hornets were swatted out of the sky. Most of them, however, attempted to crash into the Greali warships. It was an honorable death for the noble Routians. The small missile boats that weaved in and out of the battle posed a small, but serious, threat to the Republican Navy. It was hard to obtain their radar cross-section due to their size, so it was proposed to fight small ships with small ships. A couple hundred Braunschweig vessels sped towards the Greali missile boats. While sailing, the vessels (altogether) unleashed a painful barrage of 8,400 anti-aircraft missiles. That was definately overkill.... Once the corvettes began engaging the missile boats, almost a thousand anti-ship missiles were launched, and aimed at the Grealis...

Official 1st Republican Navy Message to Greali Fleet
Face it, your fleet is crippled, if not already sunk, and your sailors are all but dead and demoralized. Think logically here. Dear President Ron Tyson,

We applaud you in your endeavor to halt the senseless aggression against the sovereign nation known as the Deserted Territories. As such, we wish to supply your army with arms, medical supplies, and food, assist in the transportation of your forces from Route1 to Greal, and lend a full division of mercenaries, the 344th Security Force, to supplement your forces. We would also like to insert several Bone Chiller squads with your forces, to help organize and train your forces, and also to dsirupt enemy transportation and communications.

Dear Mr. Claudius Griffincrest,

We that glad that more people acknowledge our plea. Greal, along with its neo-imperialist allies, claim that they despise blantant imperialism, and yet, they go invading sovereign nations. Hypocrisy, I say! We are glad that the infamous Griffincrest Corporation wishes to assist in our cause; we have heard much about your fine business entity. We will accept all that you offer. We thank you for your much-needed assistance.

On the ground, Cazelian Avenger SAM batteries detected the enemy bombers, and immediately swiveled themselves towards the large B-52 bombers and their nimble F-22 escorts. Their heat seeking and radar guided missiles then flew from their compressed tubes and into the freedom of combat; streaming gracefully through the sky like a display of fireworks on independence day.
It was all about to change. The missiles activated their radar domes and locked into their targets. The Routeian pilots would not even have time to press the decoy button on their joysticks before the ordinance would hit it's mark.

Meanwhile, an EC-3 AWACS control aircraft monitored the entire battle from a few dozen miles away. The EC-3's high-power radar dish detected the inbound raptors and relayed the information to the inbound Task Force Spear fighter group.
"Whiskey-five-one, this is Pizza platter-two-three; enemy Raptors escorting objectives into the target area, over." reported Pizza platter two-three.

Lt. Greyson and his squadron of F-14Ds received the message and the information, and set their speed to mach 1.5. They were armed with AMRAAMs and AIM-54s, and their upgraded 30mm cannons. They rocketed towards the enemy aircraft. Suddenly a missile exploded between two of the F-14Ds
"Squadron, break formation! I repeat, break formation!" ordered Greyson.

The two dozen aircraft split in all directions. One of the unlucky aircraft was hit head on by an AIM-9 and spiraled downwards, smoke bellowing from the nearly non-existent cockpit
"Cougar is down, I repeat, Cougar is down. I see no chute." sighed Greyson, spotting one of the F-22s
"Visual contact made with an enemy fighter, switching to guns!"
Greyson pulled his F-14D up behind the F-22 and fired about 50 rounds into the bogey and pulled off towards the bomber formation. He switched back to his AMRAAM missiles and locked onto one of the bombers. He puled the trigger, not once, not twice, but three times to ensure the bomber didn't hit the ground.

General Hasley opened the door to the command center and stepped in.
Home sweet home He thought, walking over to the command chair. A young officer approached him as he took off his Mk.17 Gas helmet
"General Hasley, our attack against the bomber formation is working. What are your orders?" said the officer
"Tell your men to move outside the our part of Sasha and build up defenses near the coast. I want trenches dug in the middle of roads, and I want you to destroy whatever form of infrastructure you can if they make past our defenses. And begin to arm the civilians so they can defend themselves. I want this suggestion given to the Greal government ASAP."

There was a brief pause
"Yes sir."

About a hundred Cazelian national guard engineers worked on a trench in the scorching heat. They had barely made it through the concrete and their order for jackhammers had been canceled due to an arms shipment being sent to another division up north who needed the trucks that were doing the delivery. All the men had available were tools given to them by the civilian population. Most of the men had taken off their uniform tops and gas helmets to keep cool. The day was filled with the sound of pickaxes digging and hammers thumping against concrete. It was assured that the civilian population miles around wouldn't get much sleep if any; but it was needed.
At night the men worked harder because of the heat (or lack thereof), and engineers around Sasha had their fortifications and trenches ready at about the same general time. About two hours later, defenses were fitted with a multitude of weapons such as heavy machine guns and mortars.

An hour after that the troops arrived. They were quick to man the defenses as expected, and had already begun making themselves at home. The medical corps had already set up a few field hospitals and the engineers were hard to work setting up smart mines.

Sasha, Greal

Sasha was surrounded with fortifications since the Red Skull war. The fortifications kept the Leocardians from entering Sasha. More and more defenses were added to the city. Millions of Greal soldiers and militia and even some police took their positions. Tens of thousands of tanks were also among them. Greal civilians were also stockpiling guns, supplies and ammunition.

Womer, Greal

The port city was hearing reports from the naval battle raging to the south every minute. If the Routeans won, then the port had one last fleet, the Home Fleet itself. Also, one thousand missile boats were assembled to protect the port area. F-36s and F-22s patrolled the skies hourly. It would be hard for the Routeans to gain air superiority.

The rest of Greal

According to estimates, over hundred million troops, militia, reserve, police, military police could be used to fight the invaders, but half of them were support personnel, who had little weapons training. In addition, there were millions of marines and air force personnel who could be used.

Some cities, such as Aust City, had their whole population mobilized. That was never done before. Millions of civilians were digging trenches and building defensive works to stop the invaders. Militia leaders were already planning how to cut enemy supply lines if the Routeans broke through and establish a beachhead.

The civilians mobilizing were certainly an odd sight to the S.T.F. Agents posted there. However, the Agents were prepared for a fight as well, drawing up plans for a tactical defense of the building, and, should it be destroyed, a strategic method to help Greal citizens learn how to better combat the Routians.

The guards had strewn barbed wire across the lawn of the Embassy. Plans had been drawn up, showing positions for Agents and configurations for their MI-8A2s, heavily taking advantage of the extreme modularity of the weapon. The upper reciever could easily be changed to fit other rounds, ranging from 5mm/SMc rounds to the mighty 12.7mm (.50 BMG) round. Plus, like the XM8 upon which the weapon was designed, they could easily switch the role of the weapon.

The non-combat staff members were grabbing whatever they could for weapons, mainly Crowbars and kitchen knives, but other weapons such as lead pipes were present.

And secondly, Greal currently has many colonies, and all of them add up to over four billion people in all of Greal's colonies and the homeland. These are the results of the latest census.

June 2008 Census
Greal: 2.395 billion
Grunt: 1.037 billion
Lasom: 897 million
Greal Turkey: 72 million

Field Marshal Suvorov was always known as a true Bolshevist. Average height, thin but muscular, he was not known for his astounding looks. What got the attentions of his comrades was his propensity for austerity. He detested what many others considered necessities; trivial niceties not needed. He cared deeply for his troops, his lack of overt emotion was far exceeded by his actions.

Seven hundred and fifty thousand Baltic troops were now under his command. They were assembled in a mass series of camps throughout the Greali countryside, preparing to mobilise for war, assembling equipment, readying their armoured vehicles and tanks with last moment final checks. Soon enough they would be moving out.

He had just exited the final aircraft, and was the last man on the ground. He believed that he could not leave his posting back in The Northern Baltic until all of his men had deployed, ensuring that each piece of equipment, each man, everything was shipped out precisely as it was intended. He and his command staff now hunkered down in his command tent, rudimentarily established just outside the Greali airport where the Baltic Forces had chosen to make their Corps Head Quarters.

"Precisely. We'll dig in, and keep more in reserve. Should the rest be required in any sector they can be deployed at a moments notice.

OOC: The problem that I fired about 8,000 missiles at your aircraft. Casualties? Do we have numbers on your downed aircraft? Lulz, no. Apparently, they just keep coming and coming.

1st Republican Navy

"So, those fools wish to commit suicide, ehh? Very well....after we take out this Greali missile barrage, sink the whole fleet...Leave nothing standing."

Hundreds of Patriot missiles were launched, countering the presumed final Greali naval attack. A few more frigates were sunk and one aircraft carrier was slowly listing from a well-placed missile attack. The Routian counterbarrage began, as the missiles from the helicopters and corvettes pounded the remaining Greali surface vessels. Battleships lobbed hundreds of huge shells at the Grealis...

OOC: Ok, I will move the fleet towards the amphibious assault next post.

Normally, the mark 84 ‘backbreaker’ torpedoes were wire-guided, but their internal sensors sufficed for this short distance against an easily distinguishable prop signature. In a pack, they went streaking to destruction.
Their target--The unprotected keels of the troop transports.

"Picking up multiple targets from the Sonarbuoys...Unidentified.. HOLY! Torpedoes have been fired. Shit, we just lost the Republic...." Immediately after the enemy submarines fired their torpedo arsenal, anti-submarine rockets aboard the patrolling frigates began firing at the targets. Routian helicopters, already in the air from their engagment from the Greali navy, began hovering towards the general location of the enemy submarines. Launching Mark 45 torps, these missiles used acoustic homing to seek its targets. Other helicopters began deploying SONARbuoys, both passive and active to the vicinity.

After a week of travel, Talon was ready for action. They already had the coordinates of the Routeian fleet, and had readied three orbiting attack satellites for a godrod strike on the enemy fleet.
In the meantime, the AM-4Ns were being equipped with harpoon AShM systems. Their larger cousins, the F-14Ds were being armed with laser-guided bombs and AAMs to ward of enemy fighters.

From the sea was the 3rd Fleet; which was made up of all North-Point built vessels. The combined firepower of these ships would be enough to sink the whole enemy battle-group if all the missiles hit; although it was highly unlikely that the entire barrage would hit it's mark. However the it was estimated that about 70% of the missiles would strike the enemy ships.

It would be easy to see the opening missile launch from the enemy fleet, and that was the point. The Cazelian navy had recently adopted a 'shock-and-awe' mentality, and intended to test it on the other side. At 7:01 AM, the task-force commander gave the order to launch the missiles. At exactly the same time, the entire fleet activated their VLS pods and let their' cargo seek their targets. The time it would take to hit the enemy would be roughly 60 seconds. At that time the carriers had already launched their air-wings; it would take them 340 seconds to get in range of the remaining ships with their Harpoon missiles.

As soon as the missiles were launched, the F-14Ds took off. Minutes later the subsonic AM-4N aircraft were catapulted into the sky.
It was going to be one hell of a morning

I have asked East Congaree's congress to pass a declaration of war on the Nation of Route 1. I have met this action with success, and there now exists a state of war between East Congaree and Route 1. We enter this war on side of the Grand World Order, our longtime allies, and wish for you to realize the strength of our fleet, which will send out in several task forces to charge your waters.

We ask that you suspend all agression, wether verbal or through force, against the Grand World Order and whoever she is aligned with in this conflict. Failing to do so will be asking to be met by a navy that can best yours in a relatively short period of time.

In International Waters off the Coast of Route 1

A Jiangwei class Frigate maneuvered around as Task Force South Wind came closer to Route 1's territorial waters. An engagement was expected to take place with Route 1's forces any time soon, with the ships purposefully sending in wireless signals and radio waves of garble to harass Route 1 civilian and military shipping. If Route 1 attacked, most onboard the East Congaree ships thought they would be lashed back to their shores by the sheer size of the East Congaree Navy's largest task force. From there, they figured they could begin more harassment campaigns, though against ground forces. Several people laughed at their own sadist sense of absurd humor as they sent more garble into the wireless and through verbal messages on the radio. While they were still deep into international waters, they figured the radio waves would begin to leak in soon enough. The wireless signals, they figured, had been beaming into there for a few hours. They continued forth, waiting to reach the Routian ships.

The Greal fleets began to pull away. They had suffered devastating losses. Under the cover of more aircraft coming from the mainland, they began to pull out. Another battleship went down with all hands. More Hellion missiles from the mainland rained down on the enemy fleet.

Meanwhile, the massive Greal ground force prepared for a d-day style battle.

Aboard the ECWS Catfish

The Captain of the ECWS Catfish, Rear Admiral John Thurmond, prepared to make a venture with Task Forces South Wind , Spot, and Black Grouper towards Greali waters to assault the Route 1 fleet in that region. Plans on how to deal with Route 1 had changed, and thus they made a turn away from the direction of Route 1 waters towards Greali waters. In addition, another task force was formed in Charleston to head in the direction of Greali waters and attack the Routian fleet there. The East Congaree Navy saw the Grand World Order's intervention as slowly approaching, and thus bulked up the amount of forces they were about to send to the region.

The Republican Navy lost a few more frigates from the Greali land-based attack, but the outcome was clear; Route1 has won the first battle of the war. Routians cheered and jersted as they fired at the fleeing Grealis. Aboard the Routian flagship, Admiral Beuford watched as his naval technicians began plotting on the huge map display.

"We have enemy missile sites in vectors 25-48, 14-82, and 52-58. Requesting a sustained bombardment against aforementioned positions." reported one of the men as he marked the Greali missile positions.

The Admiral stepped to the board and replied, "Understood, you have my permission. Once those sites are out of commission, pepper the enemy coastal defense positions...."

Remaining Iowa Class battleships, frigates, and missile cruisers began releasing hundreds of cruise missiles. The larger ships with cannons unleashed a devastating barrage of shells targeted at the Greali missile sites. Lighter ships, such as the corvettes fired long range Tomahawk missiles and RBS-15 missiles at the enemy coastal defense positions such as enemy troop concentrations and bunker positions.

Aboard the ECWS Catfish, 20 MiG-29s carrying two 140mm rocket pods were readied to make an assault on the Iowa class battleships of the Routian fleet. They would attempt to destroy combat ships providing anti-ground support, which would make it difficult for the Routian forces to land. In addition, twenty MiG-21s on the Thurmond had two 140mm rocket pods each, all ready to be aimed and fired upon the remaining Iowa class battleships. Five MiG-17s from the Featherston were thrown in to provide confusion with their 37mm cannons , which could still inflict a significant amount of damage on support ships. The enemy Tomahawk missiles however ran into some resistance. LY4031 missiles were being fired at the incoming Tomahawks. Many of the shells fell short since missiles sites were out of range, and Hellion missiles were long range. Thousands of anti-missiles missiles, including Patriot and LY4031 were being launched to destroy the Tomahawks. Despite all odds, plenty of the Tomahawks were destroyed, but many of them also reached missile sites, detonating missiles. Plenty of bunkers were destroyed, but there were so many along the coast.

The admiral of the Republican Navy read the new report in the command bridge concerning hostilities between the LION and Hegemony alliance. Greal, being a staunch member of the latter alliance, is one of many targets of the LION warmachine. Once the LION fleets approach Greali waters, the admiral will make sure to keep positive relations with the LION. Both Route1 and the LION share one thing in common; the hope for the destruction of Greal. The admiral would be willing to offer his navy to assist LION operations in taking over the imperialist state.

With no retaliatory strike on the Routian vessels, the Republican Navy continued its barrage against Greali coastal defense positions. More and more missiles were unleashed upon the Greali positions in an effort to soften up the beachheads for the expected invasion.

Before the Cazelian navy even began their strike, the Republican Navy knew of their approach. Idle Republican Naval vessels and aircraft not involved in the shelling of Greal were tasked with destroying Greali and Cazelian satelliete systems. Hundreds of RIM-161 missiles, designed for anti-sat capability, were launched with Routian aircraft firing ASM-135 missiles. With Cazelian satelliete networks down, targetting Routian units would be extremely difficult.

Fort Mokan, Sasha

"General Vasquez, we have incoming flights from the mainland, it appears as if the rest of the 8th army is coming to reinforce us."

"The entire 8th Army is coming here? Get me in contact with Generalissimo Yuri."

Soon phone calls were being made, flights were being scheduled, planes rerouted. Both Fort Carson and Fort Mokan would be reinforced with nearly a million men. If need be more could be flown in. With massive Ilyushin Il-76s and even some of the recently purchased C-10 Minotaurs flying in, landings were calculated to get one plane to each fort every 20 minutes, just as another was taking off. The planes were under escort by Sukhoi Su-35s armed with R-77 Adders and Kh-55s in case of ship combat. However since Mokastana was considered a neutral in the Route1/Greal war, any attack on the Mokan reinforcements would be considered an act of war.

Meanwhile in Fort Carson LY300 Missile launchers were arming and preparing in case of combat with the enemy fleets. With 100 of them stationed at the fort and 14 Cruise missile tubes each that meant 1,400 missiles could be prepared to fire, 1,000 were LY4045 anti-ship missiles, while the other 400 were armed with LY589 “Hellion” cruise missiles.

The Greal fleet was not caught by surprise and it was ready by the time the Route1 fleet arrived at Watson Island. The island was mostly mountainous, and was unsuitable for most tanks. The Island received reinforcements from Grunt because Greal was too far away. Four hundred thousand troops dug in on the island and prepared to fight to the last man.

Two unlucky cruisers who were outside the defense screen plus three destroyers became targets and were on their way to the bottom of the ocean.

The fleet stretch out for miles, and was protected by anti-missile destroyers. It then launched a massive missile strike unto the Route1 fleet off the coast of Greal, which was war-weary. Twelve thousand Hellion cruise missiles plus ten thousand more from the mainland were launched. These missiles would surely crack the enemy fleet.

Generalissimo Yuri stepped off the C-10 inside the large complex known as Fort Mokan, his army, the 8th Army, aka the Drunken Grealites, was now getting into full battle mode. Armor and supplies were being flown in as fast as the air force could ship them. Men were running around taking care of business making sure that the fort was ready to hold the 2 million plus being deployed. It could barely hold 100,000. Outside Sasha camps were being set up and temporary bases set up to give Mokan units the ability to remained stationed here.

In front of him the C-10s nose opened up to begin unloading the LY4A1 Wolfhound MBTs inside, it was a tight fit but it was also a good way to get tanks to battlefields in hours rather then days. Once the tanks were off they would be refitted with slanted armor and deployed to their respective units.

Yuri stepped away from the plane and towards a Humvee that had been waiting for him, he took a swig of his flask of vodka and drove to the command bunker. Routian forces would have a fun time once they landed on Greal soil.

The Commonwealth's Red Banner Fleet steamed towards the Greali fleet. At it's center, the flagship, FSS Agamemnon's Wrath towered over it's escorts. Nearby, it's sister ships, Boudicca Revenge and Mjollnir's Blow had already begun launching combat aircraft. The CAP was comprised of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets and R-MO1 Rafale's. Farther towards the outer edges, the battleships Concordia Ultima, Maxima, Proxima and Regalia positioned their turrets. The numerous missile cruisers and destroyers had the casemates of their missile pods opened as they prepared for combat.

In the CIC of the Agamemnon, Fleet Admiral Vassily Chernenko looked at the status displays and monitors.

"Send the signal to the Greali's and to the fleet."

From the battleships, signal flares were launched in a diatonic sequence. It was unsure whether or not the Greali or other forces would understand, but the message read, "The Commonwealth stands with Greal." The message was also sent on a wideband radio signal to all forces, Greali and otherwise.

From the decks of the fleets amphibious carriers, the 3rd and 5th MEFs were launched, taking off via CV-30 Vogels and amphibious landing craft. As cover, AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters launched, as well as Marine Rafale's.

Another Il-57 landed on the airstrip, Generalissimo Yuri watched as the massive planes would land immediately taxi off the main runway towards a larger central area where they would be unloaded and the supplies raced off the runway. To another runway where they could taxi to a take off again. These massive parking lots made up about half of the total base. Surrounded on all sides by heavy fencing, concrete blocks and, of course, AA guns.

Generalissimo Yuri looked out of his window at the IL-57 with binoculars to see what was being unloaded, hopefully it was what he was waiting for...

As the back opened up and the forklifts raced in to start pulling crates out and load them on the back of the trucks he could see by the size of the items that it was exactly what he was waiting for.

"LY589 Hellion Advanced Cruise Missiles, 10,000 of them I do believe was the order."

"Yes Generalissimo Yuri, you are referring to the emergency shipment of them to Greal Forces, right."

"Yep, I want those missiles on Greal trucks and being distributed ASAP. This should help them for the moment."

Commonwealth Expeditionary Force Headquarters, Greal
(100 miles from Ft. Mokan)

Major General Mikhail Terchikov walked from his command tent to the men assembled before him. They were part of the 3rd and 5th Recon, who would be the spearhead of the Commonwealth's peacekeeping efforts.

"Gentlemen," his deep and gravely voice addressed him. Immediately, the assembled men snapped to attention, "Gentlemen, we have come here, to Greal, not as conquerers, but as liberators and protectors of the peace. Each one of you has come of your own free will, and to those who have reservations about their duty here, you're free to stay behind. The rest of you; you'll be hard chargers and fire-pissers! Anyone who has the balls to mess with a Commonwealth Marine will be shown due justice! Bring the pain to those who wish it. Give mercy...to those who ask for it. We do not fight for our own lands...but for the lands of others, who are in need of just and noble men to champion their cause. There will be casualties, for this is war. We've dealt with casualties, we will deal with casualties, but we will always make sure that their casualties are more than ours. I cannot promise all of you will come home alive, but I swear, no man will be left behind and we will come home together! Oo-rah!"

"Oo-rah!" the Marines roared in unison.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Red Banner Fleet joined with it's larger cousin. At the center, five ocean liners were loaded with the Ground Defense Forces 1st Army. Another message was sent to Greal, "The Commonwealth and Greal; *Curahee!"

*'We stand alone together.'

[OOC: Tell me if this is MT or PMT. At either rate, if it is unacceptable let me know.

35785 km above Muscovy, Stoklomolvi, Space Station Kirov

The main command centre regarding Greal, Stoklomolvi Orbital Command Station Kirov, was a major hub of Stoklomolvi activity regarding the Route1 invasion of Greal. From there, the command centre was in a geostationary orbit. However, there was no reason to fear enemy attacks, primarily since the command centre was of little importance to any ground affairs. However, the command centre maintained a largely Stoklomolvi type dominance over the area, as the station commanded a fleet of several hundred military satellites. The majority were stationed inside the command centre itself.

After many months in dormancy, the satellites came to life as they roared out of the station, heading in the direction of Greal at high speeds. When Route1 missiles were detected by the "killer satellites", anti-missile satellites were launched from the specialised satellites. Other satellites detected naval vessels, and began to move in to complete a kinetic bombardment of the ships using random objects, notably tungsten rods. Others lobbed cruise missiles, while yet others still launched ICBMs.

Two more questions

1) I began another bombardment against your positions which is why I asked for updated losses.

2) Your ORBAT; are your losses meant to be in evens? The chance of decimating your defences down to numbers that are divisible by 10,000 is a bit lulsy. Unless of course this is your ORBAT before the two bombardments in which case, could you please update. I need to see what I am going up against before I begin the landing.
