IC: The world was a rather primitive one, having just reached the atomic-level of development. The world was inhabited by a species of humanoids who had been divided into three power blocks.

That was about two weeks ago... The invaders had eradicated every major population center and military base from orbit, then they had descended to annihilate the remnants. Even now, the natives did not have a face for their invaders, for they wore some-sort of armor that covered their entire bodies. This armor laughed off even their artillery shells while even the invaders sidearms could destroy the native armor.

Remnant after remnant was crushed, nothing ever being heard of them again. Only the native’s atomic weapons would have been able to harm the invaders, yet those had been destroyed during the orbital bombardment. Now, as the last leader of the last remnant on the planet sat at his radio, listening to the sound of explosions and gunfire and the sound of his people screaming and dying.

Then there was silence on the other side of the steel doors that had made. The native (his equivalent would have been a Major on an Earth Military) stared balefully at the door. There was a long pause as he sat there… then the door exploded. He drew his sidearm and fired as the ten invaders strode into the room. He fired, and fired, and fired. They simply moved towards him with unnatural speed given the armor with which they were wearing.

They did not raise their guns toward him; they simply walked as he emptied an entire clip at them. Then they shoved him over and the squad leader put a massive armored boot on his chest.

“Why?” The Major said, and he was surprised when the invader replied in his language.

“This Galaxy is humanities and humanities alone. Now, die Xeno-scum.”

And with that the Invader pulled the trigger and the Major died before even seeing the electromagnetic railgun slug.

Sergeant Christopher Pritchard turned away from the dead native.

“The planet has been cleansed.” He said into his power suits communication uplink, “The last remnant is dead.”

“Good…” Was the reply from his squads controller, “RTB, the HOA has added another planet for humanity… over and out.”

OOC: Okay, should you ‘jump’ into the system the planet is in; you’ll find four 3-kilometer long ships orbiting the planet. These are the transports, the two 1.5-kilometer ships are the warships (their frigates, in case you were wondering). I do NOT expect any immediate hostilities and the like.

The planet is Earth-like, but has a number of smoldering ruins that were native cities… so yeah. This my FT incarnation, called the Heart of Armageddon. And no, no fleets-o-doom allowed.

In the same system at the time a small, cloaked scout ship (http://premium1.uploadit.org/MaxOutrider/ShipImages/Marauder-Corvette.jpg) was hovering near the planet. Scanners identified the flaming ruins of the cities and military bases as not of any origin known to the data banks, and filed the images away. It did the same with the six strange vessels in orbit which had obviously perpetrated the assault.

Piloting the scout was a single person, an android to be precise. It, (or rather, he, for the male sex had been what the cosmetic form had been based around) had been manufactured with two specific aims in mind: To show the viewer clearly what an Xiscapian looked like, but to also demonstrate that this was an android, and not the actual biological representation. He had two rust-colored, life-sized fox ears sprouting out of the top of her head, known as "top ears" to distinguish them from the rather more human ones where one would expect them to be. These top ears were the main audio receptors on a biological Xiscapian, providing them with a keener sense of hearing than a human, though this android had many more hidden droid appendages that did the same, only better. A slight addition was what appeared to be twin white "fins" ahead of the fox ears, which were actually transmitters and not found on your average kitsune. The android's eyes were yellow and slitted, like a cat's, and artificially grown in his mouth were sharp, pointy teeth, a carnivore's obviously made for tearing though muscle and flesh to rip meat from bone. Aside from his jet black hair, the most obvious feature was the plumy, orange fox tail, almost disproportionately large, coming out though his jumpsuit just above his rear to extend behind him in a silken burst.

Despite all this, there was something about the android that gave most biologicals not familiar with them the shivers. The eyes were dead and lifeless and the stance and general motion, while smooth and not jerky, seemed almost too polished, an inhuman grace. When he spoke his voice was not cold, as that would have implied emotion, but expressionless and empty, without the accent of feeling. Unit 505221, as he had been designated in the factory, wore a black jumpsuit now, and though the face it offset seemed handsome, his skin was hardened plastic, hair and fur, realistic but synthetic. A white katana hung at his side, along with a holstered service laser pistol and a combat knife was sheathed in her left boot.

Unit 505221 waited. Droids had infinite patience, combined with the efficiency that could be deadly and entirely without ethics or mercy, gave him a eerie stillness, without fidgeting or the usual flickers of life one saw in biologicals. Manipulating the controls though his direct link with the scout, the twin forward cannons spat out some twenty tiny drone probes, too small to be seen by sensors unless they got quite close to another ship or station. These probes spread themselves out, some going to lurk among the orbiting ships, others flying down to prowl the destroyed population centers and other stricken areas.

The two Redoubt class battlecruisers lurched out of FTL drive and into realspace. They had been forced to detour after an encounter in the outer sectors of their native system, and the random jump had taken them to this seemingly dead planet.

Out of their holds flew 4 smaller escorts, the Plague class destroyers. They dropped into scanning range around the most unravaged area of the planet and began to scan for lifeforms. At the same time, the battlecrusiers began scanning the atmosphere and surrounding space for any threatening ships.

Then they saw two large ships moving towards them from the planet. The Redoubt was the most fearsome ship in the Cyberverse navy, and was not willing to back down. Random jumps took ships to areas for reasons made aware by the ships AI. They were going to find out why.

'Raise forward shields all ships. Pull back destroyers and open diplomatic hail with incoming ships. DO NOT, I repear, do NOT open fire. DO NOT charge weapons. We are here as an accident, not to conquer...yet"

General Orannis smiled as the broadcast frequencies issued from the huge battlecruisers through the thick shields. There was nowhere safer than on a Redoubt.

OOC : The destroyers are fairly weak ships, so if the battlecruisers seem domineering (which they are meant to be) the destroyers are realistically cannon fodder.

OOC: I'll presume the probes going to the ships are staying outside the point-defenses and their sensors? Cause otherwise their going to be detected, unless their like microscopic size...

IC: The probes that found themselves amongst the ships would note the number of weapons onboard each one. The Frigates were bristling with railguns of sizes ranging from point-defense too four turrets located on each 'side' of the ship, missile pods ranging from medium-large sizes, and energy weapons point defense too medium sized weapons.

The transports were armed with one or two missile pods and railguns/energy weapons of point-defense size. Various points that acted as planetary drop-pods and ports for dropships. All the ships seemed to be powered by some-sort of singularity reactor, and they used a hyperdrive to move about.

The probes on the ground would find that the ruins of the cities contained radioactive particles in the air, but not anywhere noticeably raised above background and what there was would not last very long. They would also find bunkers and small-population centers with their entire populations obviously executed at short range. There were also these bases which were obviously pre-fabricated. They were guarded by humans in some-sort of power armor armed with handheld automatic railguns capable of punching through tank armor.

The invaders apprently had armor of their own in the form of armored personnel carriers and main battle tanks, in addition to artillery. The artillery seemed to be divided into three categories, a mobile railgun platform, a missile platform, or plasma weapons, but the rest of the vehicles were armed with rapid-fire or large-bore railguns.

The two frigates paused, then a reply was transferred back.

"This is Captain George Carlin of the Heart of Armaggeddon Space Fleet. State your allegiance, are you human, or are you extraterrestrial-Xeno-scum?"

The lead Redoubt noted the enemy frigates slightly impressive weaponry arsenal, realising the threat to his destroyers. But it would take more than that to down a Redoubt

"Continue to facilitate communication. If no response by the time they close to firing range, charge weapons but do not fire. I want to be able to retaliate if I am shot at"

Orannis looked worried now. Not for his own health, but for his destroyers - if they were forced into battle the destroyers would be fairly equal against the frigates, but the inexperienced crews aboard them were the largest of his worries.

"This is General Orannis of the mainly human empire of the Cyberverse. We wish to establish a base on the planet below to open a long range link to our empire so that we can return home. Please remove your ships from my path"

The lead Redoubt loomed over the frigate facing it, even at long range. Orannis was sure that a diplomatic solution could be reached.

The message that came back was.

"This system is claimed by the Heart of Armaggeddon. While we are more then willing to open-up diplomatic contact with your empire, we must decline permission to establish base on our newly acquired territory. Perhaps it can be used as a trade-port between our two civilizations, but that is a future matter. I am a military man, a mere Captain of a Frigate. You are the first interstellar empire we have contacted. Do you have any diplomatic personnel onboard? We do not, but we can have some here within two hours."
The Cyberverse
05-07-2008, 02:18
We apologise for the bother this must cause, but before we can leave this system we must set up an ultra range transmitter to contact our home empire for FTL drive directions. Our resident diplomat, Lord Ranna, will be ferried to your frigate shortly, with your permission, to discuss this matter further. He will be escorted by two fully armed elite guards - until diplomacy has been established i am sure you would do the same in my position.

General Orannis nodded to the real-life Captain Ranna.

"Get your disguise on."

OOC: Da, the probes don't need to get close.
IC:
The probes transmitted everything back to the scout, and Unit 505221 viewed from all twenty perspectives, taking note and recording the information. His creators would object to what had occured here, but there was very little he could do about it but watch and wait. Until a new objective came about, his primary objective was to protect the scout and himself, both from discovery and harm. The information he collected while traveling the stars on his lonely voyage might, now or later, prove vital to his masters.
After all, Unit 505221 existed to serve.

"I am afraid that the ULR transmitter requires too much power to be operated in space - our Redoubt would literally fall to your planet, causing untold destruction. Please allow Lord Ranna to travel to your ship to discuss matters further"

Orannis continued briefing the young captain.

"Act like a diplomat, but remember you are a soldier, and your first objective is to secure a ground base on that planet. Understood, soldier?"

"Clearly, sir". Ranna's hand rested momentarily on his ceremonial energy saber, custom-fitted to be more that ceremonial incase things went wrong. Under his robes was triple-ply blast resistant material that would stop railgun rounds - for a second or two. His guards were clad in full exoskeletons, offering them extreme protectivity as well as bodily enhancements.

"Very well, we will allow the minimum personnel required to set-up and operate this transmitter. How much power do you need? We have pre-fab anti-matter reactors set-up on the ground. As for Lord Ranna, please direct her to my ship, its the one with FR-401 written on it."

Sure enough, the FR-401 and FR-402 (the other ship, whose captain was obviously subordinate too Carlin) were clearly marked.
The Cyberverse
05-07-2008, 02:31
"Reactors will not be necessary if a Redoubt is allowed to land and stabilise, as it can provide the power while stable on the ground. If this is not satisfactory, then we will need three anti-matter reactors installed in an equilateral triangle, with at least 1km space in the middle"

Captain Ranna docked on the FR-401. Glancing at his men to lower weapons, he surveyed the friendly greeting party sent to collect him. His guards, standing immobile behind him would, he hoped, exude an aura of power.

OOC: Is this too late to join?
Red Tide2
05-07-2008, 02:34
OOC: No...

IC: "Please hold..." There was a pause as Captain Carlin consulted with the ground commander. Then he got back on the line, "You will be allowed too land, presuming you can take back-off after all is said and done. If not, well, I will instruct General Robert too provide you with sufficient power."

OOC: Kay then

IC:

2 X69 Battlecruisers warped into the system. The cruisers were battered by a warp storm and forced to jump into the nearest system which happened to be this one.

"Attention all crew members, we have jumped into an unknown system, begin active scanning and cloaking processes."

Meanwhile on the other cruiser 4 small scout pods were sent out to search the area.

The IC-1, head of General Orannis' column, descended to a large plain on the planet below, where they quickly erected a huge, 500m tall antenna. Connecting it to the IC-1 with cables as thick as full-grown men, Orannis gave the order to fire the signal. An encrypted reply would be sent back immediately.

Orannis addressed the young officer of Armageddon overseeing the operation.

"I suggest you cover your ears" as he braced himself on the observatoin deck of the IC-1.

The signal caused a shockwave that almost knocked over thick ancient trees, but was over in seconds. The official direction package had been sent with a secret message embedded (OOC will be revealed soon). Now for the waiting.
The Cyberverse
05-07-2008, 02:42
The remaing Redoubt immediately refocused shields on the sudden huge threat on the two smaller, but extremely powerful battlecruisers that had appeared nearby. Destroyers moved in to block the path, combining their shields.

"Acting General Saraneth contacting unknown fleet. Please identify or we will be forced to open fire."

"Oh what the hell, everybody wants a piece of us, the pirates, the storm, and now this..."

To Unknown Ships,
We don't mean to harm you, we just had to take cover from the warp storm we were in.

"FC1, charge the weapons and shields as a precaution."
The Cyberverse
05-07-2008, 02:58
They monitored the opposing ships raising weapons. The Cyberverse doubled their shield power and activated their own weapons.

"Stand down. There is another Redoubt on the planet already climbing through the atmospere. (this was true - WC-1 left a corona as is blasted through the thin atmosphere). You have no chance against us. We can see that you are damaged, and that your weapons and shields are less than fully functional. We are willing to offer aid if you will take a step back and deactivate your weapons, as ours were."
Ziolis
05-07-2008, 03:10
Alright we'll deactivate weapons but not our shields.
But we'll need a place to land.

In Orbit

"This is Captain George Carlin of the Heart of Armaggeddon Space Fleet. You are in our territory Are you human, or are you extraterrestrial-xenos-scum?" Was the message sent too the X69 Battlecruisers.

On the ground...

The HOA Officer (a Ground-Captain) did not need to cover his ears. He simply shut the HUD 'shutter' on his Power Armor and locked his boots to the ground. The shockwave sounded more like a dull-thud inside his armor and the shockwave did not even rock the armor.

"I do have to inquire, why is your ship reactor technology insufficient to power this?" The Captain said, a bit of condensation in his voice.

We are Human Hybrids, I don't know if that counts as "extraterrestrial-xenos-scum" but we are at least half or 3/4 human.
Greywatch
05-07-2008, 17:26
A small Greywatch ship came quietly into the system, it had exited PSR some distance away as not to be detected. It pulled forward while using a partial cloaking system to not completely mask its presence but make it hard to see and target. It drifted near the planet, greeted by the sight of multiple ships in orbit. It did nothing as of yet, it was on a recon mission, one of the multiple recon missions the Forbidden Ministry called for. For now it would remain quiet. It only had a crew of about fifty people and its weapons were nothing impressive, hopefully it wouldn't have to call in some backup.

OOC: Hope this is okay.
