UGF Frontier Stations and Diplomatic Interior Station (FT/ATTN UGF Nations)

The decision to construct a series of heavily armed fortification stations was concocted with much difficulty. In the Congressional parliamentary discussions on the matter of creating a new Diplomatic Space Station, Federal representatives argued the necessity of a strong base of defense to ensure the facility was completely protected with its inhabitants. Other representatives argued the opposite spectrum, that a diplomatic facility would be contradictory to have such weaponry and were vehemently against them. The Wanderjarian representative argued something different, something which stirred both valid arguers. He, a former Wanderjarian Naval Officer, stated that both sides were correct.

“My friends,” he said soothingly, “In my years I have been a commander aboard many combat vessels, and lead mighty war fleets into action across the stars. Many of you know that in past times, times of unspeakable horror and evil, my people have even fought against many of you. We, a war like people, tend to believe in the necessity of force. We also understand the necessity of tact. This leads us to believe that both sides of this argument are, in fact, correct. Our diplomatic station does need defending, but heavy weapons are not something that an interior posting should have. I realize that the representative from the Federal Union desires an out lying post as well, and as such I believe that my government will fund such a series of fortifications and we’ll all jointly staff them as needed. These outliers shall be heavily defended, but the interior station shall not be. It will have weapons, but they’ll be concealed and only drawn if in threat and will be lighter in nature. Defense counter measures basically. Are all in agreement?” The consensus was indeed in favour, and as such the Wanderjarian delegate sat down and allowed his allies to debate the nature of the weapons.
