Is anyone out there? (FT; Open)

The Vjiayans had been searching for as long as records showed. Fire signals at the beginning, followed by telescopes, then by Radio telescopes, followed by laser and even more hi-tech telescopes had provided nothing fruitful in their search for extra-terrestrial life.

As it was, Konstancji Echum now sat in a large black swivel chair, spinning away as monitors of various colours flashed in front of him, displaying masses of information that the Vjiayan brain couldn't comprehend anyway and emitting the same, low tone as they always did.
The low tone was background radio waves emitted from every corner of space, all the time...it was nothing. What the sound was there for was to listen out for any changes in the frequency of sound, even for a split second, as this would mean an extra-terrestrial signal, meaning a positive answer to the ages old Vjiayan question; 'Are we alone?' However, Konstancji had sat in this chair, in this room and looked at the same old monitors for almost three years now, and, apart from one mishap where a deep-space satellite had been mistaken for a extra-terrestrial signal, there had been no signs of intelligent life.
The Vjiayans hadn't just been listening, they'd been sending, thousands of telescopes of various technology (some hadn't been upgraded yet) were sending out the same welcome message in Vjiayan, as well as binary and other modes into space, hoping that someone happens to hear it. This was alongside the hundreds of probes sent out in various directions in space at a fifth light speed, carrying with them engraved portraits of the Vjiayan people, a relative map of where their planet, Vjiay, was as well as the same old message playing over and over into the abyss that was the universe.

"Change...NOW!" Konstancji had stopped spinning and was staring intently at a screen displaying the same code over and over, "Now!", he said again, as if forcing a being light-years away to send him a signal.
"Bossing about those aliens again, I see?"
Konstancji spun around, and there she stood, Aviva, who switched shifts with Konstancji every seven hours.
"Aviva, didn't see you there! Ah, you brought my icne! Couldn't survive without it!" He was referring to the cup she held in her hand, filled with a silvery, steaming liquid, it wasn't dissimilar to coffee in side-effects.
"Of course, you need to stay awake in case one of those aliens hears you!"
Konstancji grinned and took a sip of the drink, "Wish they'd hurry up and answer, this has got to be one of the most boring jobs in the universe!"

OOC: Okay, here's a basic breakdown of what I want to do with this...
1st. Discover 'alien' life, be it from a planet, exploratory ship or whatever.
2nd. If possible, become part of a galactic empire, with Vjiay contributing as mineral exports...military output, etc.
3rd. If it takes off, possibly far in the future when the 'nation' is a bit bigger, revolt against said empire in a galactic war of epic proportion!

Vjiay is, obviously, a planet, united, resulting in no nations or nationalities, just the planet and no belief in God, only their Empress. Size wise it's about the size of Mars, however due to limited mating possibilities due to menstrual cycles the population is low, although a rapid evolutionary process seems to be taking place and the menstrual is becoming more human. (IC excuse for the 5 mil. population, really.) Technology-wise they're probably around what humans would be in around 2300AD. Colonised the moon, Teanhe, and started to colonise the next planet, Fyeuvi. The solar system contains 2 habitable planets, Vjiay and Fyeuvi, which is in the process of the global warming stage of terraforming. As said, the moon of Vjiay has already been colonised. There are, however, several other planets. Hytia is a rock, far to close to the sun to be colonised but expected to be rich in metals. Aletos and Ragar are gas giants, slightly larger than Jupiter further out than Vjiay and Fyeuvi, followed by Enardis, equivalent to pluto but about Mercury size, home to 600 Radio telescopes.

The average Vjiayan is slightly taller than the average human, around 6ft 6in, due to slightly lower gravity on the planet. (0.93G). They also are slightly musclier and have larger pupils, due to the less light provided by their dimmer star. They also have excellent circulation systems as Vjiayan winter is below freezing for up to five months of the year, due to the distance from their star, but in summer the temperature can reach 30 degree celsius. Besides that, they're pretty similar, for RP purposes, although animals and plants on Vjiaya differ dramatically from on Earth. Vjiayans, like humans, are pretty dependent on computers and electronics, and robots are part of everyday life.

Enjoy the RP! (Sorry for the large amount of OOC, thought it was necessary in a first post!)

The world of Ophanar lay beyond the Rift of Movella. It was lifeless, worthless, its carbon dioxide atmosphere too thin to support anything that would reasonably call itself life, sands blowing around its ocean-less plains and mesas at phenomenal speed were equally inimical to colonisation, its razor-winds enough to slay a man within minutes.

What Ophanar did have, were two notable features; first, at its poles, impervious gold-shining pyramids of a strange metal, impervious to the erosion of the climate, and second, an interesting location, a mere thirty-five light years from Vjiay. So, when weak and distant signals from that world reached Ophanar, they were catalogued by systems deep under its monolithic structures. They were processed, and attention of the keeper was summoned, to determine their value. This he did, and, determining it beneficial, engaged a system deep beneath its surface.

From there, a signal passed over thousands of light years, to the world of Xolotl, a vast construct that routed endless communications data. This world lay near to Duat, the modern day nerve centre of the vast necrontyr empire. There, it took a short time for the appropriate organic persons to be assembled on board one of the smaller star ships available, the Eranaiarniti, the first of its class of forty ships in use.

After that, and a brief meeting to assess information obtained, it took no time at all, for the two-hundred-fifty meter shape of the starship to appear less than a few light seconds from Vjiay. There was some surprising aptitude for languages, for when the ship dispatched a radio signal to the planet nearby, it was in Vjiayan.

Greetings, this is the Necrontyr Imperial Vessel Eranaiarniti,

We have come in response to your signals, in order to learn about your people and culture, and teach you of ourselves and our culture…

OOC: Well, number one and two I can do. I'm not sure about the likelyhood of three to work!

Konstancji's face now lay squashed against one of the many screens, his eyes tightly shut as he snored lightly. In the olden days this might be looked down upon, sleeping on the job and all, but now it was just seen as a part of the job, boredom does it to you, Konstancji was pretty surprised it wasn't in the job description anyway, 'opportunity for beauty sleep.'. This time, however, he wasn't allowed to sleep peacefully for the many hours he had to wile away before his shift was over, the loud bleeping hindered it.

"What...what's going on?" Konstancji awoke slowly, sititng up with his eyes still closed and stretching, obviously not realising what had gone on in the hours he had slept. Now he opened his eyes, and what they saw stunned him.
The screens were changing more rapidly than they ever had done, the bleeping indicated a message, not sent, but recieved. He quickly jumped up and picked up a red telephone, summoning the rest of the station's crew to him.
Seconds later two men and Aviva burst through the door, all with looks of amazement on their faces,
"Contact?"
"Surely not?"
"Konstancji?" Aviva, as always was the first to talk sense, "What is it?"
Konstancji turned around, with a stunned expression he could do nothing but shrug, before swiftly turning around again and bashing his fingers into the holographic keys on the computer in front of him. "Contact, maybe not...it seems too close to be..."
"Too close? How close? Is it a satellite?"
"These signals aren't Vjiayan, but they're in Vjiayan. It's asking about our culture...But it's less than a million kilometres away..."
"A hoax?"
"An elaborate one, if it is..." Konstancji thought, without saying it out loud.

At that moment, the same red telephone rang, and Konstancji, without even thinking picked it up. After a few minutes of babble, the phone was back down, and Konstancji turned to face the three white faces,
"That was the military. They've picked up an unidentified object, next to Teanhe...wondering if it was ours...Obviously it's not."
"This is the real thing then?" Aviva's curious, wide eyes were alive with imagination.
"We have to tell the Empress, she needs to know." The two men left the room, one after another to inform the Vjiayan Empress.
"We have to reply...But what do you say to a galactic race?" Konstancji pondered, his years of learning seemed worthless now he couldn't make a simple sentence...
"How about...Hi?"
"It's a start..."

'This is Konstancji Echum of PI-001 of the planet Vjiay,
I don't know if, or how, you can understand this, but you have no idea how long we have waited for your words. However, I regret to inform you that, as of now you can't dock on our homeworld, as our Leader hasn't approved it, but I'm sure she will. In the meantime...How did you get here? Have you travelled long? What techno...' 'Konstancji they're not gonna answer this over the web!' 'Yeah, you're right...We look forward to meeting you soon, be sure to bring the correct equipment if you come down...we're not sure how hospitable our planet is to aliens... TRANSMISSION END.

OOC: Thanks for the quick reponse guys! The Garbage Men, you can still join the RP, maybe you could just come down as ambassadors for your planet or something?
And C'tan, I figured 3 might be a little harder. :D

Already, the minds that inhabited Eranaiarniti were aware of the environmental conditions on Vijay, their sensors processing gravity and atmosphere and a hundred other factors besides. Their determination wasn’t too problematic; but even if the atmosphere had been made of concentrated acid, and the surface primordial magma, they would have had means ready anyway.

Beyond that, the ship was also observing the visible surface in great, disturbingly so, detail. Not just of the nearest planet, but of Teanhe and Fyeuvi as well. Radio signals were captured, and interpreted, automatic systems reverse-analysing protocols for information exchange.

The ship sat in place, and after a few moments of time-lag it replied.

It’s a complicated process, both to process a language, and to travel between stars. And no, not long. Our stardrive is quite, quite good.

As it waited, a few more things were notable about it, the ship had what appeared to be engines, though right now, they were inactive, and ‘wings’ that might suggest that it had some form of artificial gravity, or simply wasn’t designed to accelerate too much. Or whatever inhabited it needed no gravity. Somehow, as well, it emitted almost no heat or radiation, except its signals, and a radar contact…

OOC: Incidentally, I assume you mean peacefully for #2. Because you’d have to be doing something quite bad to provoke me to any invasion. Some (out of date) information on the Eranaiarniti class (http://www.necrontyr.plus.com/nightingale.htm)

Empress Leverna, Leader of the planet Vjiay was quietly reading poems from an age old, paper book, in her large bedroom, covered in gold and velvet, with diamonds studded into her bedposts and the Unite Vjiay flag draped above the thick, Oak-like doors, when a troop of black-robed men burst through them.
"Your highness, urgent news from the Planetary Investiagation. They think they've made contact."
Leverna dropped her poems onto her scarlet bedsheets and hurried out of the room, her golden robe following behind her.
"Where was the sighting?"
"PI-001, just outside the city of Lyegh recieved the signals, and military sensors have picked up an unidentified object just next to Teanhe, believed to be...uh...them, miss."
Leverna gave the man a penetrating stare as she continued her brisk walk down the halls.
After a few turns and a few more corridors they came to a set of doors, not dis-similar from her bedroom's doors, but thicker and darker. They opened at her command and there lay, upon a landing pad the Royal Transport Aircraft, capable of accelerating up to mach 13 and capable of getting anywhere on the planet, at the very most, in two hours.
Leverna had learned to fly the massive ship in her national service days, which everyone on Vjiay had to do, and, unhindered by the flashing lights and holographic controls in the cockpit she took off vertically and set a course to land at the PI station, where she hoped her questions would be answered.

"The Empress, coming here?!"
Konstancji wished he'd listened more to Aviva about cleanliness as he looked about the room, sure, the monitors and holograms looked cool, but the countless Icne cups and sweet wrappers didn't
"Due in four minutes, actually."
"Oh, that's great." He began kicking cups and wrappers underneath tables and computers, then stopped to think, Are the aliens watching me right now?
"The key is to be calm, just tell her what you know and what's been said and it'll all be fine." This was said by a short, smiling Vjiayan who had no doubt encountered the Empress several hundred times before.
"But we don't know much, sh probably knows just as much..."
"She wants to talk to them."
Konstancji stopped to look at the man, "The Empress wants to actually talk to them? Bloody Hell, this'll be fun."

"She's here!"
The silver of the Royal Aircraft could be seen gracefully floating down to the landing pad, and, seconds later Empress Leverna stepped out to meet the several bodyguards and briskly made her way into the building.
"Who discovered the signal?" she demanded, sounding polite and assertive at the same time.
Konstancji stepped forward, bowing, "I did, you highness, about two hours ago."
"And what have they said?" She asked, taking a step closers, not looking at Konstancji but at the screen behind him, which, Konstancji thought, surely she didn't understand.
"Not much, miss," he said, "Just said 'Hi' really, what you expect I guess." He ignored Aviva rolling her eyes.
"And how do I talk to them?"
Konstancji paused for a second, glancing around the room, then came to his senses, it was the Empress after all, "Just talk into this microphone," He said, handing her a small, wireless box, "It's not like a telephone conversation though, they may not reply straight away."
She smiled and began speaking,
"Greetings, I am Empress Leverna, leader of the planet Vjiay.
I am pleased to see that a race has finally come into contact with us...after so long, and we cannot wait to meet you. However, before I put the lives of my subjects at risk, and I'm sure you understand, I must ask what your intentions are, why have you come to our planet in such an unassuming part of the Galaxy?"

OOC: Yeah, peacefully. Hopefully anyway, I don't think this tiny planet could stand up to an entire Empire...Oh, and ever seen those renders of what Mars might have looked like when it had water? That's pretty much what I imagine Vjiay looking like.

The ship waited, and listened, and then, its inhabitants framed a reply, seconds after the message was received, they sent a return signal. Your Imperial Majesty it began, using its best rendering of the most common form of address it was aware of for Emperors, We have come because an outpost of ours detected your invitation, and because it is our desire to meet with all sapient life. If, however, you are concerned by the potential security risk, we can arrange for an intermediate form of communication between this and a physical presence… even as it transmitted that thought, the ship was processing the information it had obtained, and bringing one of its many minor systems online, located in the tip of one of the sensor-prongs above the flat wing of the Eranaiarniti.

OOC: Apologies for the brevity of this post, I’ve been out, and should be getting to bed. And that certainly sounds preferable. One thing I’ve been meaning to do, actually, is give some foreign monarch the grand tour of my home-worlds; they don’t usually get shown all that much in my posts. I expect Leverna could be persuaded to do such a thing. Anyway! I'll catch you in the morning.
The Garbage Men

A ship from The Garbage Men Corporation slipped into existance into a system, the system was deserted and had no form of life that could cause any problems to their operations. This was good, it was exactly the reason why this system was chosen, however it was too barren, sensor scans swept through the system trying to locate their contacts the people they were meant to meet here.

"The scans are picking up nothing sir. Our contacts aren't here." the words of the woman manning the sensor array echoed throughout the bridge as the captain was deciding what he would be doing next.

"Are we sure we've got the right system?" queired the captain, who turned to the Navigator

"yes, Astrogeographatic analysis confirms this is system designated as MW-CYG-26525."

"They should of been here, they should have had a base here. Gah, this is stupid. We came out here for nothing."

"But sir, shouldn't we wait, they may be unnecessarily delayed."

"That's what I'm worried about. Do one full-power active scan if there is something in this system I want it found."

"Starting Scanning, including communication scans too, if there is even a single radio signal here we'll find it."

"Good, let me know when..."

"Wait, hang on Sir, got something, it's.. I'm not sure... It's not from this system, it's some sort of communication... Multi-broadcast, various frequencies... digital and analog. Just getting the Analog audio signal, and playing it through the speakers."

They heard the Vjiayan welcome message...

"What is it.. What language?"

"Unknown, parsing it through audio filters to clean it up then putting it through the processor."

A few minutes later they had a rendering of Vjiayan message. It was accurate enough but they didn't have enough sample to properly communicate.

"Okay so ,what now?" asked the Navigator

"Now, we find this signal and say hi, this is a first contact situation and I'm not going to give this up. You can trace this right?"

"Yes, sir, easy. I've already traced it to system designated MW-CYG-62273. Not that far away."

"Course Correction to MW-CTG-62273." spoke the navigator.

"Now let's see what we have..."

It would of taken 2 and a half hours to arrive, but the captain was annoyed to see that someone had already beaten them here.

The ship itself looked more like a medicinal capsule than anything else, the only thing visually identifying it was 3 large white letter emblazzoned on the side. "TGM"

ooc: im happy to do all three but the bloodlywar im espically happy about!.

The kewen had been reciving signals such as this for a long time but fore long time nobody wanted to do anything about it, each time it came for a vote it ended in near total victory to the side that didnt want to explore that was untill someone suggested they might have pool capable planets then it changed fro the 98% who said no to ten individuals who said no As such they decided to send four ships.

The BattleCrusier's Seeker,NorthPoint,Guideing Star and the Pool vessel Seeder the crusiers were only ameager 1.3ish km compared the the length of 10km of the Colony ship with its forward disk diameter of 20km unfolded.
But, the colony ship was there for first impressions onle it did have a beam capable of easily punching to a planets core but that was for Civic duties.

The four ships appeared at the edge of the system while the crusiers seemed to blink into exsitance the Colony ship with its large sized showed the true process of how the Kewen got around it looked as if trillions or trillions pf grains of sand were spilling into space and formed the dull brownish hull of the Ship.

"Sssssire, we sssssem to have found otherssss in here, they are not the senderssss of the messssssssage"
there was silence on the bridge.
"Nevermind."

The four ships moved deeper into the system heading for the planet who sent the signals. Scanner jams had been set up so any scann of the ships would reveal litte other than there were there.

Message to the twin space races
"Hail to thee, we come in peace to invessstigate the messssssssage"
To the planet, the language had been decihpered but no the grammer
"Greetings people that are down below, hail from kvengenar we do kewen for short we in response come to your message"

The Eranaiarniti was resigned to the fact that others would show up eventually, it was very difficult to get any kind of contact to one’s self, nonetheless, it didn’t really welcome the appearance of four other ships, but decided that it would only be courteous to frame its current knowledge of the local language and information formats in an English-friendly translation setup.

From: INS Eranaiarniti

Greetings. Welcome to this little area of space. Please find enclosed my current translations of the local language.

At the same moment, it sent a signal to the planet, By the way, another four ships just showed up. You should detect them momentarily. They’re nothing to do with us, but two other polities. This tends to happen in rather a lot of first-contacts, it’s nothing to be worried about.

"Oh you have to be joking..." Konstancji sat with his hands holding up his head, staring at a screen with tired, baggy eyes.
"What is it?" Leverna, who had stayed for communication reasons, as well as broadcasting the discovery of other life across Vjiay, yep, that's right, the Vjiayans had been discovered, and it was planetary news.
"Deep space sensors have detected more ships, again, not Vjiayan..."
"No matter, probably just extra ships from the first race."
"Yeah, maybe..." Konstancji's train of thought was interrupted by the bleeping from before, "Incoming message, it's them again...Wait, no it's not...it's...something else." He read the message aloud, "Greetings people that are down below, hail from kvengenar we do kewen for short we in response come to your message" All eyes in the room turned to the screen,
"Did that make sense to anyone?"
"Nope."
"No."
"Not at all..."
The bleeping again interrupted, this time from a frequency Konstancji recognised, "It's them, the, uh, first ones..." After a slight pause he whispered, "They say the extra ships aren't theirs...they're other races..."
A stunned silence seemed to echo about the room, with only the clicking of various computers making a noise,
"Let me get this straight," Aviva began, pacing around slowly, "The Vjiayan race signals for hundreds of years in galactic code and finds nothing...then, on an unassuming day it is contacted by three galactic races?"
No-one said anything, they just swapped stares about, even Lerna, who seemed to glow gold hadn't said anything.
"What was it that, the originals, sent before? I think we should meet face to face with them first." Leverna had now stood up, and everyone had automatically bowed, she picked up the microphone again, and Konstancji switched to the correct frequency,

"I have no idea what to say to you, I have no idea what to feel, after centuries of searching we have found three races in a day...or they found us. But as you were the first, we wish to meet you first, but face to face, we have no way to understand the technology of meeting between this and the physical presence, I wish to meet in person, as soon as possible. I will enclose co-ordinates of my palace, just outside the district of Kester. I am not sure you will understand such co-ordinates, so I will display the tracking beacon on my Palace as well.
I look forward to seeing you."

Lerna began to walk out of the room, everyone bowing as she walked past them,
"But your highness, what about the others?" Konstancji asked quietly, and without even turning around she replied,
"You talk to them."
The door slid open with a hiss, and seconds later the save silvery aircraft lifted up, spun around and sped off back to the palace.

Konstancji began, on the frequencies on which he had been sent the messages, not even sure if they'd understand him,
"Unfortunately you have come at a busy time, so I'm afraid you will have to wait for a while," Off mic Konstancji heard Aviva mutters, "Cause we have a 'one alien at a time' policy, right?", he began again, "Until then, and I don't know how to say this to a galactic race, you will have to scan our atmosphere, ensure that our planet isn't hostile to your biology."

Some brief thought was given to the best way to go about things, however, the ship decided that it was best to avoid grandstanding, and be as efficient as possible. As such, it did not move, instead, it engaged a device that altered space itself, taking an area on board it, and the volume within that, and swapping them for a point near the destination. Specifically, the landing pad of the destination.

The individual it had chosen was one who was specifically meant to look alien, but not too threatening, thus, he was humanoid, with about the same height as the Vjiayans, a fairly slender build, and probably the greatest deviation, blue-grey skin from a blood composition radically different from that of humans flowing in his veins. Aside from his white hair, he was completely covered from head to toe in a long, heavy white cloak, over a grey robe that he wore underneath, to infra-red sensors, he would shine, as his body temperature was considerably beyond human (and even more so beyond Vjiayan) norms. For this reason, to avoid feeling the cold, parts of his outfit seemed to be heated, radiating heat out into the night air.

The white haired representative wore as well as this, a number of items, one, a ring on his right forefinger with a sunburst pattern on it, another, high on his cloak, a clasp in the form of a small wreath of leaves, perhaps a natural pattern unknown here. On his left hand, he wore two other rings, slightly smaller, but each intricate in their way. Other than this, there was no actual jewellery on his person, though his startling silver eyes were similar in effect.

He appeared with two identically coloured, taller, colder, individuals, with a distinct pop of air-pressures equalising. If they had any trouble breathing the air of Vjiay, it wasn’t obvious. While the two in what one might consider a military uniform, of white and gold, carried devices that were probably weapons, their white haired, young-looking leader seemed to also, at least in the form of a sword (swords of some variant being fairly universal in a species’ development, even a non-humanoid one; it was, after all, ultimately just a sharpened club) which was presumably ceremonial.

A curious feature of the escorts was that they were very nearly identical, as if they were identical twins or clones. They even moved in the same lazily powerful way.

And then, they waited. Precautions had been taken against a hostile response – they were after all, going to be appearing by no visible means in a secure area – it would still take the Empress a few minutes to arrive, after all.

Leverna seemed to be out of it the whole time she flew back. The instruments and lights in front of her meant nothing and her hands seemed to be working automatically. "Aliens... she thought, "In my reign..., she still hadn't gotten over it, nor had anyone actually, but now she was having second thoughts about inviting them down, "What if they're hostile? They could take out the whole planet without as much as a whimper from our forces..."
Before she knew it she'd touched down, and was being escorted to the palace by four men, in all black clothing with gas-masks covering their faces.
"Tighten security, they're com..."
She was interrupted by a 'popping' noise, she looked around, and there they were. She knew straight away it was them, they looked weird. Even similar. She held up a hand, signalling to the four troopers to stand down, as three of them had crouched down and cocked their rifles and the fourth was holding up a pistol.
She was in a stunned silence, and could utter nothing but, "Greetings..."

The lead alien bowed slightly, keeping his face carefully neutral (smiling was out of the question in these things, easily misinterpreted) before he spoke. Unlike the voice on the radio, he had a highly unusual accent, but nonetheless, he too had apparently learnt Vjiayan somehow, “Greetings, your majesty. I am Senator Irantar, of the Necrontyr,” of course, ‘senator’ was its closest known Vijay equivalent, and the proper nouns simply didn’t translate at all, “it is a pleasure to meet you,” he added. If he was disconcerted at all by the guns pointed at him, it didn’t show (or perhaps it did, in some alien way that wasn’t obvious) and his own guards made no effort to return the gesture.

The TGM Ship received the information from the Eranaiarniti, after running it through a number of diagnostic checks (including anti-virus) they found it matched and expanded upon the language database that they had.

Having this new information, they were easily able to formulate their next message and talk to the Vjiayians

Greetings to the People of Vjiay,

We represent the interstellar corporation of The Garbage Men, an equal opportunity employer, We would like to discuss what opportunities we could provide the Vjiayan people, through the extension of various services that we provide both to governmental bodies and directly to the people of Vjiay.

Yours Sincerly, Pete, Official Representative of The Garbage Men Corporation.

That was a message sent to the Vjiayans, of course with an uncomplete vocabulary, and a basic understanding of Vjiayan grammer, who knows what it would sound like to the Vjiayans

However that was not the end, a message was also sent to the INS Eranaiarniti .

Subject: Re: Vjiay

Thank you for the information provided especially in regards to the Vjiayan Language, it was much appreciated. According to a brief search of our database, I cannot seem to find any recorded contact between The Garbage Men and the Necrontyr.

I may be wrong, but we would also like to discuss establishment of providing appropriate services to your people as well.

Thank you,

Yours Sincerly, Pete, Official Representative of The Garbage Men Corporation
Your friendly Sanitation providers.

"Um, Why didn't you use that last line for Vjiay?"

"No real reason, but it really was superflous. I had to for the Necrontyr, if it got back to HQ that I didn't well I'd get in trouble, but it's not like they'd remember or be even able to talk to HQ at all, so it won't matter. Anyway, I have to go and get a landing party ready."

"The air isn't dangerous down there is it?"

"No sir, it's breathable and within the comfortable range for all known species aboard."

"Good."

Soon enough, the landing party was ready just waiting for the word from their 'hosts'.

All of a sudden, and for the first time in her life Leverna felt inadequate. She had no idea what to do next and whether or not the aliens knew this. "A pleasure to meet you, too..." she stuttered and trailed off, she had always hoped for this day, but had never really thought about what to say to the strange looking, far more advanced alien species.
After a few seconds of waiting, (it was actually more like a few minutes), one of the special force guards, presumably the leader of the team stepped forward, "Leverna, are we bringing them in or not?" He must have knew the Empress quite well, to call her Leverna.
Leverna seemed to spring back to life and her eyes opened slightly wider, although she still couldn't take them off the new species, "Of course, come in, come in. Pardon my rudeness, I'm just slightly...shocked..."
She turned on her heel and the team kept their eyes on the aliens, watching for any sudden movements, although whether their weapons would actually have any effect on the beings was another matter...

OOC: I'm guessing you know Warhammer...so imagine the Kasrkin squads of the Imperial Guard and you know what the guard team looks like. :)

Irantar smiled, not seeming to be at all put out by waiting, he was of course, keeping his expectations, quite open, the C’tan had known many races that took long times to decide anything, sometimes even centuries. In this case, however, Irantar was unable to avoid a little closed-lip smile, as it seemed to only be astonishment. “Don’t worry,” he said, “it’s no problem. I quite sympathise.”

Meanwhile, high above, the necron ship waited, and fired back a return message.

Unfortunately, I’m not authorised to make such arrangements. Furthermore, we do have our own disposal infrastructure for such waste as our technology produces.

[OOC: Indeed. Of course, this civilization has very little to do with canonical necrons these days.]

Leverna led the way into her palace, taking the guests through winding corridors and up grand staircases. She felt strange, the eerie silence she never expected to have between the aliens her race had waited so long to meet seemed to crush her eardrums. She wondered what they were thinking...if anything, mind, and whether even the grandest of Vjiayan decor was anything compared to what they had on their planet.
Finally she walked through dark brown, wooden doors, made from the rarest of Vjiayan tree, into a room decorated with lifesize portraits of past Emperors and Empresses, and laced with golden patterns on the ceiling, which towered over the glistening, marble floor by at least twenty metres.
She took a seat in a scarlet, fluffy chair, whilst her guardian team took positions in the corners of the room. She indicated with her hand to a scarlet sofa, indicating for the aliens to sit down, hopefully they understood.

The group looked over the portraits interestedly, evidently understanding what they were. Irantar did pause briefly to slide his hand against the wooden doors, curious about their texture, and sat down elegantly, one foot forwards a little way from the other, leaning back in the seat. “So, are we precisely what you were expecting? Perhaps you would like me to talk about my own culture for a time… I have seen much of your world, after all, but you know nothing of mine.”

"Hmmmm, They seem to be handling us one at a time..."

"Who knows how long that signal had been broadcasted for, guessing from thhemessage, probably for a number of millenia."

"So they probably weren't ready for us, even one ship to show but 3? They're probably having kiniptions down there."

"Well, The Necron's they're probably playing that up probably got who knows what down there, playing the Advanced Alien card for all it's worth... by the way, what is down there?"

"Sir, Audio analysis has revealed the mouths of our hosts are structured exactly like humans.*"

Okay, good, we'll play the other card, the Brethern from Across the Stars!"

"With free allergy-less perfume for each carpet cleaned."

There was a bit of a pause, "Okay, a human-only squad. We're going to be something that they can look up to and think 'Hey we can do that, we can stretch across the stars"

They hadn't received any message confirming anything, and were currently working purely off assumptions.

*That is right isn't it?"

Leverna had noticed the, apparently lead alien, looking at the portraits of her family and analysing her doors, she took this well, as at least they were interested in the Vjiayan culture, or were at least acting to be. She was stunned by his/her/its question though, what exactly was she expecting?
"Well, as you know our race has been trying to contact other worlds since we first crawled out of the oceans, first primitive ways and now with our advanced telescopes," she used the word 'advanced' lightly, who knew what these aliens had at their disposal, "However I don't believe any Vjiayan actually felt they expected one thing from an alien, some believe the apocolypse would arrive soon after a meeting whilst some believe the wealth of technology shared would benefit our society immensely, looks wise, each individual probably had a different idea..." She trailed off, remembering that the aliens looked rather similar, apart from their colour, to the Vjiayans.
She paused, "Of course, we would like to learn as much as you can teach us right now about your races' culture, technology, age, location, just as a sample of what will, hopefully become a brotherhood among the stars."

"So, how are we going to do this?"
Konstancji once more stood in front of the various glistening screens, indicating the other ships on the space RADAR.
"Leverna said one race at a time, so how about we invite them down in order of appearance?"
"Right, I'll issue a note to each of the ships."

The first one went out to the Garbage Men ship,
"Greetings, we are sorry to keep you waiting, but our Leader has decided to take one group at a time, so, until she says she's ready you'll have to wait to come down." Konstancji felt strange, telling an undoubtedly advanced race to wait after travelling lightyears, "We once more ask you to make sure that the Vjiayan atmosphere is not harmful to your biology."

*Yeah that's right :)

Irantar nodded, reaching in to the outermost layer of his clothes and taking a slim disc from it, looking for a table, or the side of the sofa, to set it on. This done, a startlingly intricate hologram appeared, displaying the flattened lens of the galaxy, with a bright green-blue ‘jewel’ sparkle highlighting the local star. A shining blue one lit up displaying another label, ‘Earth-Sol’ (which was perhaps curious; being as it was likely to, in the non-phonetic translation below it, translate to dirt-star, which might give completely the wrong impression) and near it, a pure green, ‘Mictlan – Capital System of the Necrontyr Empire’ – there was no need for interpretation, there.

“We represent a culture known generally as the ‘necrontyr empire’ or occasionally as ‘The C’tan’ which incorporates many different species;” as he said this, a number of different life forms appeared, at one tenth size, with shadowed outlines labelled as their actual size, including both genders of his own race, humans, what would generally be called ‘elves’ (there, the most prominent species labelled as ‘Quendi’) also displayed were a set of stranger forms, ranging from creatures that looked distinctly like rocks, to other beings without even a semblance of humanoid form. On all species, a bar graph displayed typical range of exterior colouration, “These three main species represent over ninety out of every one hundred members of the population. Some of these other, less numerous species, are distinctly rare, and may either be small in numbers, or predominantly immigrants. Of all these species, only my own is entirely part of the Necrontyr empire. The empire has some ten billion citizens, but including protectorates and partner states, which is a somewhat complex topic, intricately related to history, one can count over forty billion citizens.

“The current state is coming close to four hundred years old, though Menelmacar, the chief partner state of the necrontyr empire, based on Earth,” he nodded at the map, “is close to a hundred times that age, and my own species traces its history as tool users and space travellers some nine hundred million years,” he was of course, actually speaking with his numbers adjusted to account for the local year, by an enhanced part of his mind that did such tasks automatically without any conscious effort, “and with faster than light travel for a little over seventy million…”
Vjiay
13-07-2008, 16:45
Leverna had seen holograms before, hell, the Vjiayan's had had that technology for nearly three-hundred years now, what planted a stunned expression on herself, and the guardian team, but was hidden by their masks was the aliens' last sentence, "with faster than light travel for a little over seventy million…”, "Seventy million years..." Leverna thought, and was sure she saw one of the guardian team members glance at another, "That's longer than we've existed as a race..." She muttered quietly, once more she began to feel inadequate, what right did she have, as the leader of a mere baby among the stars, to talk to an alien race so ancient, widespread and large that its mere existence was nearly unbelievable, and its level of technology just as much. She tried to look interested in the 3D images floating above the table but her mind was wandering, "We thought we were clever, had something to offer these beings," she thought, "But what can we offer to them, a race barely a hundred thousand years old, and only 'civilised' for ten thousands has surely nothing to offer such ancient creatures."
The Vjiayans had reached speeds of around a fifth light speed with unmanned space craft, and she longed, as did all scientists on the planet to know how to travel as they do, but couldn't muster up the courage to ask, as she had nothing to offer back to them.
At that moment three servants arrived through smaller doors in the other wall, dressed in long green robes, carrying trays burdened with various traditional Vjiayan foods from all corners of the planet, placed down on the table below the holograms.

“It’s very hard to simply describe a culture. Certainly without a common frame of reference; we value individuality, and a community-based capacity for collective action, to equal degrees. Our government is handled in several ways, there is what you might call an Emperor, but simultaneously, a great deal of governance is done by democratic means, representative and direct, the latter of which always has precedence…” After a brief moment of waiting to see if there was any ritual associated with eating here, Irantar smiled, examining the food, taking (if it were possible) the closest analogue to a fork or sharp knife, and spearing some likely objects with it, nibbling. As he did so, a small part of his brain was analysing the breakup of samples on his tongue, for the possibility of unaccustomed toxins, which, where found (as was usually the way on alien planets) were countered. Of course, more powerful poisons would have a much more drastic effect, but mundane toxins and drugs would be processed without him needing to pay any attention, “of course,” he said, after swallowing some of – whatever it was – “as you can imagine from the numbers, there was a time when we essentially extinct. This is part of why we are so interested in other races; just as within a species, diversity is the key to adapting to crises and environmental changes, we have generally found the best survivors to be the cultures who are interested in those outside their own, and who learn from others…” he paused, “but I’m getting ahead of myself, what else would you like to know in particular?”

Leverna was genuinely interested in this beings' history and culture, and she smiled to herself watching him eat some of the Vjiayan culture, "Well, I'm sure that every subject on this planet has a question they wish to ask you different to everyone elses, I, for one am most interested the culture of such an ancient society, although, as you say this can't be simply spoken about," She paused, "The Captain here," She gestured to the man behind her, "would most likely to know how efficiently you can kill, and so on and so forth." She puased again and felt the blood drain, and her heart rate increase, "However there is one thing you could tell us that the whole planet wishes to know...And, like describing your culture I suspect you can't simply speak it, and I for one definitely wouldn't understand it, but I wish to ask you to inform our best scientists of how to travel to the speed of light and beyond." She took a deep breath, she'd finally asked it, and hoped she hadn't blurted it out in a jumble of words, but something about the way the alien asked if there was 'anything specific' she wished to know, gave her confidence, and now, even the elite troops around her had stopped checking each centimetre of the room and honed in on the hopeful answer.

Irantar frowned, “Well, I don’t quite understand it all myself, and I certainly can’t promise that. As you can tell, we spent a great deal of time at sub-light speeds before discovering our current means of propulsion, and it is certainly amongst the greatest secrets of our empire. There are, however, other techniques of travelling faster than light, which I’m sure we can provide…”

The ship the Sank'etheik floated through space, having recently exited from a nearby Wil'cotl. Captain Venu of the Rel System was standing on the bridge of the large space-vehicle, examining a large hologram of the nearby system as it was mapped. Venu wiped his brow with a large handkerchief, it was hotter than usual on the old girl, the Tech-Magi of the Sank'etheik had been struggling with the temperature-balancers of the ship for over a Kaelan Set, which was about a month in Terran terms. Like all Kaelans, Captain Venu stood at 10 feet tall, with broad shoulders and huge muscles. His eyes were ice-blue, but they changed to a dark purple as his thoughts were clouded with confusion. He was wearing a large over-coat, which wasn't helping the heat, but he never let his emotions through when the ships crew was around, didn't do well to show any weakness of any kind. He snapped his fingers, and his aide, N'uri, rushed to his side, holo-slate in his hand and an eager expression of his young face.
"What do the Tech-Magi make of the system?" The Captain rumbled, his eyes never leaving the hologram.
"They believe it to be class II sir." N'uri muttered, looking at the slate.
Venu shook his head, "If it was class II we would be getting communication, radio, anything. We have nothing."
N'uri nodded, his eyes turning to a dull yellow. "Well sir, there appears to be a large nebula in the area which could be affecting our sensors."
"Then why haven't I been informed?" Venu burst out, angrily turning to N'uri, his eyes a dark red. To the young Kaelans credit, he didn't flinch at the Captain's outburst.
"They didn't think you would need to be informed Captain." He said. Venu sighed, and he waved the boy away. He lent onto the railing that surrounded the hologram machine, as the multi-colored lines that represented so many things connected to each other to create an accurate 3D image of the System.
"Ship angling 23 degrees to fully exploit sensor potential." Spoke a loud and metallic voice from the speakers, as the Tech-Magi carefully powered every thruster on the ship to angle precisely in a certain direction to angle the Sank'etheik to a perfect 23 degrees from their original position. They're accurate, I'll give 'em that. The Captain thought, as he gazed at the image.

Leverna sighed, the glint in her eye gone. She'd expected the answer, hell, she'd even prepared for it, but it wasn't enough.
"Well, I suppose, as you've travelled however many millions of lightyears, I suspect you wish to know more of us?" She didn't wait for an answer, "The Vjiayan people are, for the most part, very cultured. We indulge in arts, taking the form of paintings, music and literature, and a library is found in every city, as well as an online library of over 300,000,000 pieces of written work..." She supposed she'd better define 'online', "Online refers to a massive connection of every Vjiayan subject to a web of activity, even I'm a member. Every Vjiayan, at birth, is inplanted with an EyeCon. Two contact lenses, two mini super-computers for every Vjiayan. At birth these just have blood-type, fingerprints ecetera, but as the Vjiayan ages it becomes more personalised, and acts as, well, what we used to have. 'personal computers'. The lenses project a holographic image to the user only, and this can be used to act as a keyboard or any such thing, although our engineers have recently successfully created a fully mind-controlled EyeCon, although too expensive as yet. The Eyecon links the user to every other subject on the planet, and the user can access any website they want in the, excuse the pun, blink of an eye, just by moving their eye a fraction of a millimetre. For example, I'm currently on a popular forum, where threads are already being made about rumours of contact with aliens." She took in a breath, and closed the browser. "There are obviously variants in EyeCons, for example, the chaps around me have special ones, which, although you may be far advanced aliens, I'm not allowed to talk about." She grinned, "The Vjiayan race has also had robotic helpers for over two-hundred and fifty years. These collect the planet's rubbish, run banks, get drinks and any other menial task you can think of. Although the military is still Vjiayan based, as we believe a conscious being in the seat of power is much better than a program...
And as you know, we wish to be a space-faring planet, to the extent of your race," she dared to say, " As I've said, we've began the colonisation of another planet, and our moon is already colonised, but we wish to be spread about the galaxy, in harmony with our bretheren among the stars..." She trailed off, taking a bite of the Blenh, similar to chips. (Fries, whatever.)

Irantar frowned for a moment, “That said, I’m sure we can provide useful information in that regard, even though we do keep our own technologies proprietary. Of course, perhaps you can acquire something from others, if you wish; as a rule, once a culture becomes known to the galactic community, more than a few traders and charlatans show up to either sell them things, or buy their resources. And yes, we have something similar,” he said, referring to the eyepieces and computer network, “though it’s generally internal, and contains some other things…” he said, not wanting to say too much about certain electronic tricks available to him, “and unfortunately, I should warn you, that more paranoid voices are probably true. Though most peoples wish to live in peace, there are those who don’t. Your military is in no danger of becoming obsolete…” he said, tilting his head back, in a gesture that seemed infinitely dismayed by the strife in the universe, “In any case, I’m sure you are eager to meet the others; perhaps it would be best if I were to return to my ship, and make an appointment for another meeting tomorrow; I could arrange for a selection of our more prominent cultural works for your network, or for yourself, or as that probably won’t be possible, any emissaries you would wish to send, to travel to a C’tan world…”

"Of course, of couse." Leverna couldn't blame them for wanting to keep their technology to themselves, in the days of the nations, the more powerful ones, the ones that prospered were always certaint to keep their technology secret...too bad they didn't just get along though...
This conversation had almost made Leverna forget about the other races waiting in orbit around her humble planet, and the beings words made them flash back into her mind. "Oh, right. Well, obviously we, as a relatively new race wish to keep in contact with as many other species as possible...especially 'friendly' ones like yourself...especially if the 'paranoid' are indeed correct, as I obviously believe you to be the case..." she trailed off and stood up, offering her hand for a handshake, the traditionally royal way to exit someones presence. The shuttle was almost half-way their already when the reply was recieved, however the shuttle did have to slow down significantly for entry into the planet's atmosphere.

The entry was fairly smooth and the shuttle made a succesful vertical landing, the hatch in the back opened and a gang plank lowered down, they wanted to make a different sort of immpression and so once the gangplank was lowered a man, just over 6 feet, with short brown hair took the first steps down onto a new planet, a new civilisation, and more importantly... new business.

Following closely after him where 4 others, a total of 3 women and 2 men. They were all basically wearing the same suit a medium grey figure hugging latex type thing with dark grey highlghts. It was made up of pants and a top.

A small group of three Vjiayan diplomats had been assembled for the greetings, the one in the middle, a beautiful woman draped in flowing green robes that seemed to follow her body lines as through they were made from liquid. A wide smile, showing her faultless, white teeth adorned her flawless face, her blue eyes sparkling with a confidence and curiosity seen in those of children,
"Greetings, my name is Rosa, and I will take you to our Empress now." She offered her hand to, what she assumed to be the leader of the group of aliens. She also stole a glance at the magnificent ship they had just disembarked, marvelling at the thoughts of what it could do. Since the time the TNA crew came back from earth with the Xiscapian colony ship,The industry has flourished and today the TNA's fleet is one to reckon with.

With state of the art shields and hyperdrives and beam weaponry the P-6A6 Type Class is one of the most powerful battlecruisers. With compact size and high maneuverbility due to inertial dampeners.

The ship's power-core is for the moment a sophisticated Fusion reactor. The ZPM that was destroyed left a hole in the performance. Now Project ZPM are researching into Vacuum Energy but it will take time.

Just 5 years ago the Senate of TNA passed a decree to assist all planets from threats which does not have hyper-space technology. When the TNA Deep Space first arrived the presence of the rogues were not known about. Class 96 Planets have been top priority to defend due to their advanced nature but lacking other technologies.

3 TNA P-6A6 Type classes battlecruiser had been dispatched to the Vjiayans to defend. It was still unclear if they would attack but usually it was within a month. Meanwhile the TNA Deep Space exited hyperspace and broadcasted to the Vjiayan that they needed to talk.

At Colony P-45-56D a single freighter launched.

Its destination: Vjiayan Homeworld

Then, she turned, as did her colleagues and made their way down the steps of the landing pad, and through thick, gold, wooden doors.

The man she approached smiled and responded with a short bow and then following it up he took her hand and gently but not without a sense strength behind shook it.

"Thank You" he said, signalling to those behind him to follow, as they started heading down the stairs he asked, almost in perfect Vjiayan, "What is the custom for greeting the Empress?"

Rosa smiled to herself, it appeared that politeness was at least one language the Vjiayans and this race had in common, although they'd also done a hell of a job at mastering Vjiayan...
"There isn't a particular way to greet the Empress," she began, without turning round, but her voice was as clear and loud as if she had done, "although, over the centuries, most people have greeted the Emperors and Empresses with a bow from the males and a curtsey from the females, followed by a handshake. Although the handshake was Leverna's addition, believing it's better to be in contact with the people she speaks too..." She ended, carrying on walking through the golden maze of corridors, past thick, wooden doors, until the group reached the main speaker room, in which Leverna was. The dark, tall, thick wooden doors towered above them, flanked by sculptures of magnificent animals and famous Vjiayans, all interlinked in a decoration that wrapped itself around the wall in which the foors were built, and seemed to give off a silvery glow of its own. It was said that, should a Vjiayan person ever be in pain or suffering, miles from homes, that they should focus entirely on their race and its history, the things it stands for, and this melancholy of light and song would course through their veins and their blood, giving them a strength to carry on.

As for the message Konstancji had recieved from TNA, despite seeming as though the aliens sent it in emergency, the Vjiayans kept to their word at all times, and Konstancji sent a message backed saying how they, like the rest, would have to wait their turn.

The captain of Deep Space was taken off guard by the answer.

"They said WHAT!" Yelled the Captain.

"Sir,Battlegroup X4 is 25 minutes from here." informed the communicaton officer.

"Thank you Sergeant."

Meanwhile the Freighter exited hyper-space outside the Vjiayan planet. It was Gigantic. It was 1/5 as big as the Vijayan homeworld.

"This is Freighter 4-0-9,Captain do you copy over."

"Yes sir."

"Status report?"

"They won't speak to us,They seem to value rules too much."

"Alright,Let's proceed the deployment without their input."

"All hands on deck. Prepare to fire Bay 1-155 on my go. Target all major infrastructure."

"Fire at will"

The ship disappeared in a massive smokefield. out of it 155 5km long and 2km wide projectiles which hurled down towards the Planet and its moon.

As it was about to touch down in tremendous speed the inertial dampeners dampened it and it layed to rest as a giant pillar in the middle of all cities.

"Active them" Ordered the Colonel of the Freighter

All the projectiles now deployed and buried itself down the ground. As the projectiles drilled its way down 2km it stopped. Now they started to glow blue and something inside started to spin.

3-4 seconds later a giant shield covering the planet and its moon.

"Let's hope they won't get angry,This is Freighter 4-0-9 we are out of here" Said the Colonel and entered hyperspace.

Meanwhile battlegroup X4 entered the system.

Consisting of 3 P-6A6 battlecruiser they looked small. They only had a length of 500m and a width of 600m.

"Battlegroup X4 ready for defensive operations." echoed the General's voice.

"Our early scout reports indicate a massive fleet en route through the system. I say we lure them here and fight them." Said the Captain of Deep Space.

He simply nodded, simply turnng back to his counter parts and said briefly said something with 6 sylables. They nodded in response, but appart from that remained quiet the entire time. With their trip, the maze was a nice touch but if it's purpose was to obscure the location their were entering, it didn't do a good job. The ship was able to locate them on the planet, and track their progress, a signal not using conventional radio waves transfered that data to a PDA like device.

For some it was always interesting to see people and creatures of a new planet, that's why they found themselves on these voyages for the experience, however some others knew that this was where the money was and went on risky endeavours to rake in the cash. Though to be honest physical currency had been phased out long ago.

There was a chorus of awkwardly timed "Empress" with a slight bow which transformed into a bow or curtsy as appropriate. They waited for the Empress to make the first move, it was hers to take but at least they expected it and were ready for it.

Leverna smiled as the six new aliens entered into the room, shaking hands with all of them and inviting them all to sit down and the numerous, velvety seats. She herself stood and waited for the visitors to sit down, although she began speaking as soon as the greetings were over, "Welcome to Vjiay, I trust you weren't kept waiting too long," she eyed each of the aliens up, taking into memory their dress sense and wondered if what they were wearing was a specific uniform, "As you have no doubt seen, despite searching for millenia and not finding any extra-terrestrial lifeforms, there have been numerous contacts in a single day." She smiled at each of the aliens, just as the same waiters as before came in burdened with Vjiayan foods, hopefully not poisonous to these lifeforms, "First off, and I hope you don't mind the question, but why have you come to Vjiay?"

OOC: TNA, I really don't want any part of this war, you and your enemy can fight in my system all you want but I don't want 'shields' protecting my planet, especially as that would most likely say to the enemy that I'm on your side! So I'm just gonna ignore your previous post, sorry. But maybe in the future we could have some kind of alliance?

"Thank you." he politely responded taking a seat, meanwhile the others stayed back sort of aloof, one them pulled out a small device.

"Oh, no problems it wasn't too long, as you said, multiple contacts in a single day must be quite surreal for you but before I respond to your question, do you mind one of my assistants here is going to scan for biological compatibilty?"

Whatever response she gave, they would oblige, no point in causing ruckus, especially with security.

"To be honest, your majesty, we were bored. We were meant to meet up with some colleagues but they didn't show, we heard your signal and decided to investigate, and well as to who we are and why we are here now. Well, we work for an inter-galactic corporation, The Garbage Men. We basically deal with the refuse and rubbish from standard santitation and garbage collection to space debris, terraforming and recycling. Though those are just some of the things we do."

He looked at the waiter for a moment and took an item of food and started eating even though at this time there was no confirmation of compatible biologies.

Battlegroup X4 just entered the system. They took key positions around the planet. Colonel of the P-6A6 Typhoon were waiting impatiently...

"They won't talk to us...I hate to be rude...Sergeant,Beam down the delegates inside their chambers" Said the Colonel with a irritated voice

The delegates disappeared in a bright flash.

Meanwhile the long-range sensors picked up the fleet and signaled a message to it.

"This is TNA you are violating Space Law 5683,Fall back immediately or actions will be taken"

"The message got a quick response.

"We aren't afraid of any pathetic loosers"

The Colonel sighed.

"Sir the fleet is moving to our position estimation..9 minutes. They are coming from 569468 bearing 185."

"Position the ships in a triangular formation. They have a go as soon as the fleet shows up...let's hope these vjiayans wil llisten..." Said the Colonel worried.

"Yes of course, of course." She waved away the quetion as unnecessary, she herself didn't want to cause a ruckus by killing off aliens by the poison Vjiayan food...
She listened intently as the alien spoke, maintaining eye contact throughout, and the troopers around her had reached a new state of tension, they wondered why some of the aliens remained stood,
"So...you're galactic binmen?" She looked shocked, she couldn't believe that the Galaxy has evolved so much that it required the creation of a corporation of interstellar binmen, it was like the Galaxy was just a Vjiayan town, why hadn't the Vjiayans met alien life sooner?
"Are there other such corporations, promoting Glactic hygeine ecetera? Does the Galaxy and all its species live in harmony?" She hoped the latter question would result in a yes, the Vjiayan world had turned red with blood in recent centuries, but she felt the answer would be no, judging by the latest race issuing a battle warning...

IC:

"99% Biologically compatible, sir."

"Well, good thing then." He smiled and with a slight nod the rest of those that attended had started to grab pieces of food and started to eat, he turned his attention back to the Empress.

"We're the only ones of our scale... no one else can do it just like us, we do have local competition but nothing that can really challenge our viability as an organisation."

"And as for species, it's generally not an issue, but what is are the political entities there are hundreds upon hundreds of Space faring nations, some keep to themselves others others shoot anything that move and everything in between, some even shoot things that don't move but that besides the point.

The TNA fleet was standing ready.

They were ready to defend the newly discovered planet from certain to come destruction.

The colonel of Typhoon quickly lodged a message to The Garbage Men Corporation.

"Please be advise a massive fleet will appear within the minutes. Preliminary scans indicates no weapons on your ship so it would be best if you hide behind the moon out of sensor range."

Meanwhile the Delegates arrived with a bright flash inside an Vjiayan building. They looked amazed and the architecture showed that it definetly was of interest by the institute of architecture.

"Now where exactly did he beam us down?" Said one of the Delegates with a questioning voice."

OOC: Check the last paragraph of my first post, they're pretty much human, but with slight differences, but whatever the 'biological scan' comes up as, it's not poison xD.

"Hundreds?" Leverna had not believed that the Galaxy was so teeming with life and the Vjiayans had only just been discovered by, of all things, a binman. As for the response to her species' question, it was what she expected, "Indeed, we've had a bloody past." Images of cities burning popped into her head as she remembered the heretics that came from the underworld in an attempt to overthrow her Grandfather, and the valiant efforts of the 17th Light Brigade in defence of this very palace, before the 'Big Push' came and the heretics themselves were burned..."However we believe that is behind us now, and we wish to make connections among the stars. Of course, we have no way of getting to them, except on the backs of other races. We have no vehicles fast enough to get us anywhere."

Meanwhile, Captain Alban's military eyecon was flashing red, currently posted on Imperial Defence, his was directly linked into the mainframe of the palace, and there were intruders. By moving his eye a fraction of a millimeter he was able to isolate the source of the intrusion to the Librarium, and with two hand signals had indicated that his men should move out to intercept the new threat, he'd have to trust the Garbage men, for now, and with their las-weapons primed they marched out of the chamber, unassuming as if nothing was wrong, until the thick doors closed behind them, and they fell into a tight battle formation and jogged to the Librarium.

"Sir,There is a group moving towards our location,I suggest we cloak for the time being." Said the delegate security officer.

"What? Why would we do that? We are here to make contact." said a female delegate

"Look don't argue with me,Its not like we were invited here." continued the officer while walking around in the room. After a few seconds he touched a panel and a display came up. "This looks interesting" Said the officer and looked at it. "I can't make it out,Their langauge lacks any basic structure of the Te'lturanian Langauge library. It must indicate that they are a fairly new race." He continued. He quickly got up an article.

"Hmmm...This is most definetly an archive..of some sort" but he was interrupted by the sound of people outside.

"Quickly hide!" The delegates disappeared after they activated their personal cloaking device. The fact that the TNA had traded for some amazing technology like Walking through solid Object,Cloaks and Alternate Universe Drives. But the most valuable trade was the personal shield device. The shield could withstand as much as 200kt on TNT,Still the technology was flawed. The frequency of the shield was still not perfected and it resulted in a high-frequency rendered the shield inert.

The team had arrived at the great wooden doors of the Librarium, which was flanked on either side by five meter tall, glowing silver statues of famous Vjiayan scholars, each one hefting thick books and quills. With another hand signal (the team had opted to switch their radio beads off, to lessen the chance of detection) Alban indicated for the two Sergeants to stand at the huge handles of each of the doors, whilst he and his Lieutenant stood slightly back, weapons aimed at the doors which would, hopefully reveal the intruders when opened.
With a subtle nod, the two Sergeants swung back the doors and the Captain and his Lieutenant burst through the doors scanning the room with the barrels of their weapons for the unseen foe. The other two soldiers joined them once they had re-closed the doors. With yet another hand signal, the team was told to turn on their helmet radio, each one hissed with static for a second, before silence, which was then broken by the voice of their Captain, "Target unidentified, may well be alien. Switch on your infra-red, it may reveal their hiding spot."
Each of them turned on the infra-red mode in their helmets, which turned their sights into a sort of low orange, broken by some reds and whites.
"Captain, over there...I see footprints."
The Captain walked over on his own, the other three members of the team stayed still, scanning the hundreds of rows of bookcases for signs of the enemy. He indeed found footsteps, at least two variants, although their trail just vanished after a few steps, and they themselves faded as the floor regained it's noraml temperature,
"Alright, secue the library, I'll call for reinforcements and the techs, they might have better luck finding these intruders."
Alban, throughout all this couldn't help feeling he was being watched, and assumed that the intruder was still in this very room, wherever it was, it wasn't getting out.

But obviously there's only so much you can discuss about culture, before you actually have to see it for yourself..." She trailed off, wanting desperately to ask the obvious question, she took a sip of water and carried on, "So, why is an interstellar trash company visiting, are we some sort of business opportunity?" She realised that the way she said it may have seemed hostile, but she put a smile on her face to hopefully show that it wasn't meant to be.

In the Librarium reinforcements had arrived and the aliens were encircled, "I'm afraid," began Alban, "That our Empress is currently in a meeting, and will be unavailable for some time, however we would be glad to escort you to a waiting room, if you so wish."

The delegate raised his arm and pressed a few buttons on his visible armband.

Alban was rather insulted by the image of his planet as a desolate rock, no alien should portray the Vjiayan homeworld like that, but he tried to keep his cool, after all, he was the one with the twenty or so weapons on his side, "I'm sure it can wait." A sarcastic smile slipped onto his face, hidden from view of the 'delegate' by his gas-mask. "Now, we can either stay here until the Empress is done, we can escort you to the waiting room, or, if you wish, you can try to get to the Empress, but that choice would mean the destruction of our planet," the last words dripped with sarcasm, "will be the least of your problems."
The rest of the, now reinforced team snigered, although keeping their eyes and their barrels pointed at the aliens, if a Vjiayan had portrayed the Vjiayan homeworld like that, they'd have been tried for heresy, and if anyone had ever tried to get to the Empress without expressed permission, they'd have been shot on the spot. However, as this was a first encounter, the Vjiayans had to play it differently, for the time being.

OOC: Btw...whatever happens in this RP I'm not allowing the destruction of my nation/planet...

The delegate sighed and looked at the men. The delegates turned around and walked right through the wall.

Meanwhile Battlegroup X4 was in full preparation of starting the fusion reactors. It was a long process to start it but once started it,It would give sufficient energy to the shields. The TNA shield drains its power directly from the source. so as long as there is power, the shield will hold.

"Their inbound" Said comm officer.

A giant fleet exited hyperspace which on the Vjiayan homeworld looked like fireworks in space. it consisted of 350 Cruisers and 5 battleship-sized ships.

"Reactors are..1 minute til ready..."The fleet opened fire on the 3 ships.

"Shields down to 89% sir,It dropping rapidly...81%" yelled information officer.

"Charge the weaponry return fire!" Yelled the Colonel

3 blue beams teared apart 14 cruisers,"Sir recharging beam weaponry,Switching to railguns!"

Now massive railgun fire erupted. the sky was lighted up by the yellow swarms of plasma rounds.

"Shield down to 53% sir, 30 seconds left!"

"Beam the bombs into the Battleships!" yelled a weapons officer. 5 bright flashes hit each battleship which then blew up.

"31% percent,15 seconds. beam weaponry recharged! Fire!"

The beams ripped apart several cruiser. "shields down to 15%!....Reactor online..Shields moving to 100%,fire all weaponry."

Now the beam weapons lighted the sky as it fired massive salvoes destroying countless cruisers.

OOC: It won't its just a warning and they are trying to convince you to take them to your empress so its really an empty threat..But you never know,Maybe X4 is needed somewhere else...

"I presume we're combat ready, now?"

"Yes, sir, weapons are charged and shields are up."

"Good, let's wait to see what they will do and anyway we should tell our hosts that something is up."

"Alright, sir sending orders now."

A small secure energy burst containing the encoded orders were sent down to the planet it should be recieved any moment now.

The weapons that they did have was quite strange, they were essentially bullets flung at almost the speed of light. Any collision of the very dense and the very fast, would have extreme momentum, the only question is how long would a shield hold out against being bombarded.

"Indeed, currently, our terraforming of Fyeuvi is proving to produce lots of waste, both conventional, from the workers there and nucleare, from the factories. We had planned to simply 'blast it off' into space, obviously ecologically unsound, but all the same its the best we can do for ourselves at the moment."
The topic of discussion was interesting, getting into a business deal with an intergalactic company was definitely in Leverna's, and indeed Vjiay's interests, however the interruption, she had hoped would not come,
"Yes, we ourselves have recieved messages from a race seeking to protect us, from what I'm not sure," she didn't seem to worried, calm even, when she'd have been permitted to be uptight, "However there's not much we can do about it, except hope that we aren't annihilated, I suppose." She was cut short from the deafening sound of gunfire from the hallway, "What in Throne's name was that?"

In the hallway the 40 men situated in the defence of the main corridor had let loose with their 20mm uranium tipped shells, their assault rifles coughing, at the potential enemy that had apparently just appeared from nowhere. Despite firing as soon as identified, they had no way of knowing if their hits were counting, as, around a second after the firts shells were fired, what looked like a force field, like the things seen in movies had formed around them. This, however, hadn't stopped the shooting.

I'll be able to log on occasionally, maybe 2 or 3 times a week but my post rate will be slower than what it is now. Over the planet of Vjiay, the battle were now over. The remaining fleet entered hyperspace but the TNA managed to disable 5 ships before they jumped into hyperspace.

"Good work,I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for you" Said the Colonel and patted the Weapons officer on the shoulder,Then he turneda round to the crew. "We shall celebrate this victory...with the Vjiayans...beam the delegates back up!"

In the hallway that now looked more like a battleway the delegates and security guards disappeared in a bright flash.

In orbit, the Eranaiarniti sent a signal - in an open radio frequency and in the local language that the Vijayans would pick up too - to the Terra Novian Atlanteans. "Now that this unpleasantness is done with, I think you've more than overstayed your welcome in this system, no? I'm sure it would be a most reasonable request, given your recent abortive incursion to the Empress's palace, however well intentioned, for you to get yourselves out of this star system for the forseeable future, and approach with rather more tact and decorum next time?"

OOC: Sorry about the short/poor post, Internet cafe xD TNA, I'm assuming your 'delegates' were beamed up instantly

The Guards weren't sure what to do. Had they eradicated the threat? Were the xenos dead or had they just disappeared? Surely, judging by the pockmarked golden walls were they had been just firing, not even 'advanced' aliens could have survived such a focused onslought of raw power.
However, their various sights and sensors showed no indications of aliens brains sprayed on the walls, nor had they detected them vacating the premises, they'd apparently just...vanished.

Leverna, however calm, couldn't even attempt to ignore the loud gunfire, and so just smiled as nicely as she could in the circumstances. However, a little after the gunfire stopped an eight man team of Imperial Guard soldiers burst into the room, fanning out, yet remaining quiet. The team captain approached Leverna and bowed, "Empress, another...species of alien, recently invaded the Palace, on their way to this very room, we intercepted them and believe we stopped the threat, however, to be sure, I believe you should end this meeting so we can protect you easier in your room." He bowed and walked away, issuing a few hand signals to the other men, who responded with an "Understood" signal.
Leverna turned to the 'friendly' delegates, "My Guard believes it best we cut short this meeting. Please be certain that this planet is very interested in creating co-operation between us and your corporation, so, if we could organise another meeting I believe that would be best."

Movement Sensors integrated into their 'suits' had shown exactly what happened to the TNA representatives, in an attempt to communicate an imminent danger they had caused a terrible ruckus, arrived and departed with no consideration of how their hosts might react. That's why it was drilled into all TGM personnel that when making first contact with a people that manners were important, not specifically their own personal manners but trying to pick up by whatever means available an appropriate understanding of the social system involved.

"Yes, thank you Your Majesty, I wish it was more peaceful but as I understand that couldn't be helped. I'll have an assessment team come as soon as possible." He smiled with his mouth closed and bowed his head

"We shall stay in the system until the assessment team arrives."

and with that he gave one final full bow and the others started to leave, he paused however and waited to see if there was any reply and then he would go, if there wasn't or if there was it didn't matter

"Damn this military....Why do they control us." Said a Delegate angrily

"Its like we cannot pursue normal diplomatic relationships. As if the General thinks it will be better to go down there and try sneak their way into the heart of their very governement. I would rather fight these ships and then say hello." He continued.

"Thats enough! You are violating security law 45-Gamma-7,You will be under arrest for the remaining time the mission. You will be held responsible when we come back."

A security detail picked up the Delegate and dragged him down to the detention cell. Meanwhile preparations were under full way to fix the damaged short range communication. It would take a few hours. The TNA fleet orbiting over Vjiayan Homeworld were now not very fond of trying to land as it would mostly end with catastrophy.

The Chief Engineer ran across the hall, opened the door to the brigde and waved at the Colonel "Sir we fixed the short range communicator, try now"

"Thank you!" Said the Colonel and ordered ordered to send the message to the Vjiayans.

The TNA still remembers when they first got their working interstellar-travel engine. Our people flourished and today we are one to reckon with. Leverna spoke again, just before the aliens left, "You will be escorted again by our spokespeople, pardon me for not coming with you to your ship, the situation doesn't allow it." She smiled again and exited through a thick wooden door, followed by four of the Guard team.

"So... We've got a deal?"

"Yes, They're expecting an Assessment team in an undetermined previous time."

"Well, let's give our meeting one more chance... Give the Assessment team a call and we'll get going. There's nothing more that we can do here... and the C'Tan should be able to deal with any military needs that might arise, and to be honest we don't have that much in terms of weaponry."

Leverna strode down the golden hallway purposefully, her heels echoing off the marble floor and her scarlet robe billowing behind her. It had been a few hours since the debacle were an ancient hallway had been desecrated by an unidentified xeno, and a four man security detail flanked the Empress, just in case.
She wasn't looking forward to this meeting, damned diplomats and military personnel, no imagination at all, it wold just end in shouting, as usual, but as Empress of Vjiay she was duty-bound to listen.

The moment she entered the room the babbele of talk stpped and all eyes turned to her. The Guardsmoved to perimeter positions as she made her way around the cenral, raised, glowing oblong to her silver throne at the end of the room, until she sat, no-one did.

She looked to a high ranking Commander in the nearest seat to her, "Situation?"
He nodded, and pulled out a small silver object and pushed a button, a hololithic display erupted from the glowing oblong, "This shows the 'battle' that the 'TNA' warned about," all eyes were transfixed on the crystal clear display of great space hulks throwing munitions at eachother, "Shortly after this, and in response to the firefight that erupted in this very palace, we recieved a message from these aliens, an apology." A few of the diplomats scoffed at this, a look from the Empress silenced them, "Thank you. Now, their apology seems very...interesting."
"What, they offered to repair our palace?" Yet another diplomat blurted out, responded o by snickers of people in similar attire.
"No, they offered to advance our technology in terms of space travel."
That caught the attention of all the uninterested diplomats, and Leverna.
"How?"
"In the space battle that erupted in this vey system, TNA disabled five of the enemy...how did they refer to them... ah, 'cruisers', all of which are capable of, how they refer to it as, inter-stellar travel, or in our terms, faster than light travel."
This pulled gasps from the usual apathetic members of the diplomacy wing, and even Leverna was lost for words.
"They claim that, when they first reached FTL speeds, they were actually much less advanced in terms of computing and technology than were are today. This, therefore, is not an opportunity we should pass up."
"And what if it's a trick? What if they again try to invade our planet?"
Leverna said nothing, after all, she'd been thinking it herself.
"I don't believe that is their intention, besides, I believe we now have astute allies in the forms of the Ctan and possibly the Garbage men, though their firepower is debatable, and any attack on us by TNA, I believe, would be responded to in our favour by the Ctan."
Leverna nodded, his argument was a good one, the Ctan had actually offered their military support against TNA, and could and would hopefully do it again if the need arose, but right now, all eyes were on her, and the chance to advance her races' prowess in the Galaxy was not one she could pass up.
"Respond to their message. Tell them we accept their offer, we will take the 'cruisers' from them and we, in turn, will forget about todays debacle. As we currently have no yards big enough for these monstrous ships, so we will have to send teams of scientists up to the ships themselves, and reverse-engineer as much as they can, with the help of TNA scientists."

Leverna walked out of the room, and no sooner had she left the babble again began, with diplomats sure that it should be totally Vjiayan technology that eventually gets the race past liht speed, whilst Military and civilian scientists arguing the sooner the better. No matter what the arguments, the response was send.

" We have a go sir from the Vjiayans."

"Roger that, Hyperjump gate is operational. Battlegroup, 3,4,9 are in. Cargo fleet 6,5,56,23,1,45,68,57 are in."

A giant blue hole opened up the whole sky over the Vjiayan homeworld. It poured out ships in all sizes.

White beams started to bombard at the designated coordinate with a tremendous sound. After only 20 minutes. The whole facility was standing tall way above the tallest Vjiayan buildings. Then 3 ships joinly beamed down one of the 5 ships into its section and continuing.

At same time the crews of both TNA and Vjiayan were beamed directly into a large hall.

A woman touched her neck and something started to blink in her right eye.

"These will guide you and help you as you move along."

"May I have your attention please. I am Chief Scientist Jenny Thompson and I and my collegeus will help you on your research. First of all if any noticed I have a large glowing glove on my hand. With this I can control the facilities beaming technology. it will instantly beam the nescessary part into the room. Jenny made a quick move with her right hand and a large compartment appeared in a bright light behind her. It took up the whole hangar.

Then Jenny instructed the Vjiayan's how to use the gloves, computers ( Virtual Interfaces ) and the beam transport system of TNA.

About 250 VI appeared all over the place looking much like normal humans except they were transparent and glowing faint blue.

The Vjiayans were rather shocked by the new buildings to say the least. Sprung up in a matter of minutes, many of the nearby populace had simply looked away, only to look back and have this obviously alien architecture staring back at them!

"Bloody xenos, no culture whatsoever."
Leverna was in an armoured troop carrier (not the most comfortable vehicle she'd travelled in, expecially as she was joined by 12 fully laden Imperial Guardsmen), on her way to inspect the buildings and welcome these unorthodox aliens.
Alban had his head poked out of the roof hatch and had been quietly cursing as soon as he had seen the alien buildings. Leverna smiled to herself, she knew he wasn't particularly xenophobic, he was just proud, like all Vjiayans, of the Vjiayan race and didn't much like to see it's beautiful architecture spoiled by a huge, ugly structure.
They were in the middle of a long convoy. Tanks rolled in front and behind them, whilst smaller snatch vehicles conducted long range patrols perhaps a kilometre out, as the aliens had chosen a slightly out of town area that was unreachable by any roads, but whose building still disturbed the horizon.

The scientists, meanhwhile were in awe about the technologically advanced place. Some tried their hardest to listen to their 'teacher' but were finding it hard not to keep glancing at nearby things of wonder, frequent whispers of 'amazing' were clearly heard, and not one of them could wait any longer to discover what these ships had to offer to their scientific progress.

The man that welcomed them directed them through a door where there was security personnel waiting he took his position in the back of the line and they were taken through the ship into a small meeting room, what looked remarkably like a TV screen was embedded into the wall at the head of the table.

Once everyone arrived the man directed them to some seats and pressed a button on the remote. The screen came to life showing a man that looked in his 50's with a decent head of dark brown hair. "This is Mr. Robert Jones." he announced before fading back into his seat.

"Hello." he smiled with a respectful bow.

“Greetings,” the head of the delegation, a dark haired, pale woman in her thirties said, her five companions reciprocating the bow, “We come proudly from the planet Vjiay, as you no doubt know. Our Empress and numerous top advisors believe it to be in our young races’ interest to make a deal with your company.” She pulled out a comp-slate* with numerous facts, figures and tables shown on it’s fold-out, 16-inch, semi-holographic display, “This shows Vjiay’s output of waste material, which is currently expensively sent into deep space.” The figures of mass and size were compared to things of everyday things for scale, as they couldn’t expect this race to know what their mass unit meant, and my comparing it to objects that they may just understand would make the process easier. “Like I said, this is becoming expensive and if a cheaper way was made available…by you, it would help our race massively, as well as possibly linking us more into the galactic community.”

*Comp-Slate - Essentially a laptop, about the depth of five pieces of paper. Massive memory and able to fold away. Semi-Holographic display makes it seem as though the figures are 3D, though really, they’re not. If you’ve seen red planet then their x-ray things are what I imagine comp-slates to be like. J

"I'm sure we'd be able to do that much cheaper than that, the Assessment team will be able to help you with that. However we do more than just collect rubbish I wanted to talk to you about these other opportunities. such as, climate restoration, pre-loved items, pollution controls, even cleaning services. Some of these services, like with the waste would be directly contracted by the government, but there are other services which we believe we could offer your citizens to improve their life."

Robert seemed relaxed, he seemed happy but not overly so,

"What I am asking is that we'd like to establish a commercial prescence there in Vjiay which will go beyond our basic waste management solution, Do we have permission to do so?"

“We believe this to be the best solution to Vjiay’s problems, help from a more knowing race. We will obviously entrust it to you to decided what, if anything our climate needs help with, we know, for example that a rip in the ozone about the east of the northern hemisphere has opened, so pollution certainly needs to be cut down upon at least.”

His smile widened at the end of the paragraph as the link as 5 previously unseen workers for the company entered the room, 4 females and a male.

The leading female introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Linda, and this is the rest of my assesment team. Lou, Anne Jackie and Ralph." The all smiled and bowed slightly as their name was red. Linda was a red-head and so was Ralph, but Lou, Anne and Jackie were Brown, Blonde and Black-haired in that order.

"This play-through should provide enough information about the known processes on our planet."
Each of the comp-slates was playing through a video of all the facts of the Vjiayans, explaining the molecular levels and atoms by drawing dot and cross diagrams of them.

They accepted the comp-slates and viewed the video... They pulled out their own devices similiar to to the comp-slates but slightly larger.

The first thing it did was calculate levels of various gases mainly Carbon, Oxygen and Nitrogen. "Alright, we've got an optimal atmospheric gas configuration. We'll need to have a walk around, a large number of areas, rural, large cities, industrial areas and any remaining natural forests, that with a high altitude reading over an Ocean should be what we need to create an accurate model for the aeroforming process."

There was some laughter around the room as the communique from Terra Novian Diplomacy Agency was received. There wasn't any particular reason but the communication boffins back at HQ loved hearing about situations where those on assignments got what they thought they deserved.

A response was quickly formulated and was sent back.

Vice-Chancellor Yeralda,

Thank you for the consideration you have taken in persuing relations with The Garbage Men, Trevor Desorté our CEO has expressed personal interest and would be honoured to host a meeting here at the our corporate offices. We'll get you in contact with his Personal Assistant and can arrange an appropriate time.

Yeralda looked at the response.

"I wonder why they're CEO wanted to meet me in person" Yeralda raised an eyebrow.

"Tell them that we'll meet them at the coordinates" she commanded

We are ready at your will.

Everything was ready Trevor Desorté (http://www.nswiki.net/index.php?title=Trevor_Desort%E9) was planet-side ready to receive his guests, it had been a long day for him after meetings going all day, but that's all done for now, and time for evening drinks. Though for a CEO incharge of a Corporation like The Garbage Men, he had to share evening drinks.

The Vice-Chancellor should be on her way and after a security sweep before they would meet each other for the first time. Trevor ordered a drink from the upmarket open air bar and started at it while he was waiting.

The small uncomfortable ship Yeralda was sitting in exited hyperspace just above the planet she had been ordered to go to.

"I hate these...fighters,Why can't we just build normal transport ships." She said while fiddling with a infinite number of buttons.

This is Vice-Chancellor Yeralda on the TN Diplomacy Agency. Requesting permission to land at designated coordinates.

Now she waited for the response

Welcome to the Conference and Resort Planet of Barborossa. You are expected and your meeting is ready take place. Please land and a customer service agent will escort you to your meeting. Please note for security purposes all weapons, weapon systems and such like are prohibited and will be responded to immediately.

Thank you, and enjoy your stay.

A cheerful female responded to the TNA hail, she had exhuberancy in her voice that didn't faulter as she responded to the request for landing.

Once she did just as advertised a person wearing what could only be assumed as those of the business that run this place.

"Mr Desorté is waiting to see you. Just this way."

They walked together for a couple of minutes to the bar where Trevor was waiting, leaning on the bar a cocktail in his hand.

The woman nodded, and tapped her finger on the comp-slate, dragging it across a few times to the response of numerous bleeps.
"I have now updated your comp-slates with co-ordinates for numerous sites you requested. On there includes 'Jugis Viridis', a continent completely dedicated to the preservation of nature, as well as Rutilis, our second city, whose eastern border will also provide you with industrial facilities. We can give you transport to these places, if you wish.'

"Thank you for the offer, though we have our own craft for these things. Special sensors for highly detailed and accurate scans, I can perhaps allow one or two observers to accompany but there are some security protocols that have to be undertaken. Proprietry technology, I'm sure you understand." Lou spoke while Linda perused their list of destinations.

"Yes, these will all do nicely. We'll be ready to depart in about an hour, it will take that long for the craft to arrive and for us to perform necessary calibrations." she finished and smiled. Ready and waiting to go should there be nothing else.

"No that will be fine, we wouldn't want to interrupt the scanning and research, although if you ever need any help pertaining to the locations, press this button," she leant over and showed a small blue circle, "and that will video link you directly to me.

"Everything seems fairly straight-forward we should be able to easily find these places. Thank you for your assistance." Linda smiled. "I'll take you back to the transporter room, and you'll be back home in a flash." She chuckled a bit at her own joke before leading the Vjiayans back to where they entered the ship from.

You don't get to be the CEO of a Corporation like his unless you can see things other can't. Spot trends, new information, information hidden buried deep inside masses of numbers.

"Vice-Chancellor, thanks for coming." He chortled a bit, "Seems security are keeping a tight eye on us." He raised and tapped a ring on his right pointer finger. "Would you like a drink? or would you prefer to just talk?" he took a sip of his own drink and briefly smiled.

The Vjiayan team followed the woman, known ass Linda, to the place they first arrived in the ship. Not sure what to do next they stood and smiled patiently.

The fact was they didn't have to do anything, Linda nodded to an unseen person and the transporters activated, soon they found themselves back on the planet Vjiay where they were assembled.

Meanwhile on The Garbage Men Ship the assessment team were busy getting ready to deploy the sensor craft, performing calibrations, and other such necessities before deployment. In about an from when they left the craft would enter the Vjiayan atmosphere for the first time. And soon arrived at their first set of co-ordinates.
