Camera's were rolling. filming in some small dank basement in an unknown location.
The central leadership of the old military junta were captured alive and taken to a secret location so their supporters couldnt rescue them
They were to be put on trial for crimes against the people and then executed

They were to be tried seperatly

General Dante Alavino was the head General who had been president for 7 years. He was sitting on a small stand. the other chairs against the wall held communist party members

Prosecutor: Let us all here begin the trial of the former government leaders for crimes against the people of our great nation. that for the last 40 years they abused the land and people and made everyone thier slaves!

*General Dante stand up*

General Dante: This is rediculous! What are you acusing us off! the entire world will know of what you dogs have done to our nation!

Prosecutor: please control yourself. You are here to be judged. You are being acused of undermining the national economy, corruption and embezzlement of state funds, genocide and acting in a despotic fashion

General Dante: That is a lie! the I followed the Constitution! the junta rotated the presidency in accordance with the constitution I wasnt a dictator that was not bound by laws! it is a lie that I am a dictator!

Prosecutor: you claim to have rotated the presidency!? each general was only permitted 5 years according to your oppressive constitution and despite how oppresive it was you had to go against the constitution and remain president even after your term expired 2 years ago!

General Dante: Your assault on the nation brought the country to anarchy. The constitution states that in a state of emergency such as a civil war the generals can agree to extend the term of a general for the sake of stability

Prosecutor: we were liberating the people while you....

General Dante: Liberating the people!? you will send this nation to hell!

Prosecutor: The suit you are wearing now is the suit we found you in...what is it, Italian imported? thousands of dollars? normal civilians can not even buy shoes in our nation and you prance around in expensive suits, we know of your palaces, and luxury you generals lived in!

General Dante: whom are you talking about!

Prosecutor: We have a certificate signed by all the generals to liquidate one of your concentration camps and dispose of some 15,000 prisoners outside of Luprasi. Most of whom where innocent civilians.

General Dante: That is not my signature, you forged it. I am innocent of every crime you set me up against!

Prosecutor: Now Dante, you were in government in the 1970's. suring you know of the Genocide of the Alsenarian people. All throughout the 70's they were banned from leaving thier republic. banned from jobs, religion and language was banned. you moved over 1 million Surainians to Alsenaria to help wash out thier native culture

General Dante: How can you acuse me of that! General Anthony was president, talk to him but dont talk to me!

Prosecutor: You were a junta! you worked together. its stated in the constitution that all the generals were equal

General Dante: Your here just to kill me, why am I still here!? just kill me already

Prosecutor: Is this how you want to go? go down as a foolish old man in denial? we brought you here so you can atleast face up to the crimes comitted, so you may atleast achieve some understanding from the people, give them closure but still you have to sit here and pretend nothing has happened and that you are still president

General Dante: I am president and the only crimes comitted have been comitted by you rebels!

Prosecutor: The Republic of Drosii no longer exists. now it is known as the Federal Socialist Republic of Sarviats. We are in power now and finally we know of what went down over the last 40 years. You generals let the country decay. We are a basket case with literacy of only 11%, no schools, no medicines. the average citizen cant even expect to see thier 65th birthday! We are light years behind the worlds and you sit here and claim you worked for the people!? in what was did you work for the people!?

General Dante: I do not know where you get those statistics from! our government has cared for the people, stopped it slipping into anarchy and civil war!

Prosecutor: so for the last 40 years our struggle against your oppressive government wasnt a civil war!?

General Dante: you were just a distraction

Prosecutor: but the military came to power on the promise of restoring power and when the communist threat was gone you would install a multi-party democracy, if we were just a mere distraction why did you generals not stand down sooner

General Dante: see the lies he is inventing, Im not going to answer another question in this pathetic excuse for a court room!

Prosecutor: Right, well if thats how you are going to be I will give you one last chance to speak before we read out the verdict

*General Dante says nothing*

Prosecutor: The crimes you are accused off are well know by everyone in the country. It would be an insult to them to leave you a live which Is why we call for the death penalty by fireing square. Tomorrow at dawn you will be shot. This trial is over, escort the former president back to his cell

Dante went without a fight, instead he was just a frozen, stunned man not aware of what was going on. it didnt feel real to him.

He was escorted back to his cell.

It was 5:50am. Dante was escorted above ground.
The morning air was quite warm. on the horizon was an orange glow from a sunrise. Forest was all around.

Dante was tied to a pole in an open courtyard

A comander stood next to 5 men hlding rifles

"Ready..... Aim......Fire!" the 5 men fired and Dante was shot. Blood cam out of his wounds and mouth and his body slumped as far down as it could go as it was tied up to the pole

The Government of Kahanistan congratulates the new Federal Socialist Republic of Sarviats upon bringing to power a democratic and socialist civilian government. While we oppose capital punishment on principle, we accept that other nations have differing standards of justice than our own, and that the executed generals have brought much trouble to your nation.

In light of the mass starvation, disease, and illiteracy that plague your nation as a result of the misrule of the junta, I would like, upon the consent of our Senate and of your government, to send five thousand aid workers - teachers, doctors, agricultural staff, and construction workers - to aid in the rebuilding of your nation from its ashes, and to form diplomatic relations with your government.

We would gladly recieve your aide workers though there is some concern.

The new Sarviat government, we admit has its short comings in the way of civil Liberties but what is important now is building this nation up and giving every citizen a rich and happy life.
The reason we have some concerns is that contact with foriegners is quite restricted. From friendly, socialist nations with a governmnet system similar to ours it would be no problem.
If you can promise that your aide workers will stay off the subject of our political processes and keep contact at a minimum and allow minders to be present when around regular civilians. we will agree to the aide workers to enter the country.
We are sorry is this seems a little demanding but the Sarviat people are just beginning to get thier head around our new system we dont want to expose them to any other system at this time.

Ten Airbus A380's, loaded down with the aid workers - teachers, medical and construction personnel, engineers, and their supplies and equipment, took off from airfields in eastern Kahanistan, escorted by twelve Su-33 fighters and two Il-78 Midas refuelers. In all, a wing of 24 aircraft were heading for Sarviats, with the lead Su-33 being the one to request permission to land...

We will approve of your request to land. What ever city you choose to land at the airport will be open for you use. Though there are a number of other nations sending planes too with shipments or aide and workers so the skies are quite busy over the FSRS

"We will... land on your western coast; escort us to the largest airport there," replied Colonel Mohammed Amir, the commander of the fighter escort. The flight crews were the only military personnel on this operation, though the aid workers did bring security and some light weaponry for protection.

The planes began their descent, awaiting escorts or ATC to tell them where to land...

"The Largest airport in the area is the Maspol airport. Its the capital of the Herainian Republic. The Airfield is on the outskirts of the city. We have some local party officials there to meet you" said An airport official speaking into the radio

We have heard about the current situation in your nation and we congulate you for removing the past dictatorship. We therefore wish to state that we are willing to send you a $6 billion package that'll have simple things that you need to help your people. If you require it, we're willing to send it to you but we don't expect you to repay us.

The planes landed, or more accurately, the Airbuses and refuelers landed. The Su-33's merely refueled one last time from the refueler planes and circled in the sky while the Airbuses unloaded their personnel and supplies and the refuelers prepared to top off at the Maspol airport.

The relief effort was headed by one Dr. Janine Turrell, M.D., an official in the Foreign Ministry's Office of International Aid. She was a small woman around five feet tall and very slim with long dark hair, and appeared to be about 60 years old. She and two security guards armed with cheap old AK-47's were the ones who would meet the Sarviat party officials.

The local party officials ran out onto the tarmac the greet the aide workers and other party present

They saw the small woman.

The 3 party officials heading out to greet them were
Alin Muresa a 56 yearold quite gangly, tall and balding
Tami Sanial a 39 yearold woman. hour glass figure but 5ft4 in hieght
Samual Bor a 43 yearold who appeared more nourished then the other two. he had a head of thick black hair

Alin spoke up
"Welcome to Maspol.... You are the Kahanistan aide workers? I am Alin Muresa, this woman is Tami and he is Samual. We are all party officials for Maspol"

"Dr. Turrell," said the woman. She smiled warmly and extended her hand.

"These are Cyril Edwards and Mohammed Salim, my security." Cyril was a tall, lanky, pale teenager who looked like he'd be everyone's bitch if he ever went to prison. Mohammed was an equally tall black man who looked like he could beat the crap out of anyone and everyone.

"Now, I'm a doctor. I'm also the head of the aid effort. My medical staff will try to construct field hospitals on the outskirts of the city, where we're easily accessible. We'll also want to augment your hospital staff and supplies, and we'll want to know what your supply situation is like. We also have teachers, to help deal with your literacy and education problems, and we have construction workers to help with your infrastructure - buildings, roads, machinery, electrical lines, things like that. I'm not much with the technical nature, though."

Alin shook Dr. Turrells hand as she extended it

"This is excellent. We always thought we would only recieve condemnation from the world after our successful revolution! It is great to see such a brilliant international effort from careing nations eager to help get our country on its feet!" said Alin

Alin continued on

"The local government will do all in its power to help your operations. There is an issue with teachers and doctors and that is we really a shortage. Our hospitals are disease ridden, cramped and damp hells with lack of medicines. We plan to close them down and demolish them for new ones. as for schools there was a private school which educated the upper class children but we have siezed control of that facility now. What is your first plan or what would you like us to help with to make your organization job easier?" said Alin

We can send as many as you require. Our army is quite large, and no, we would not be bringing more than was needed. I was thinking maybe 1,500 troops to bolster your garrisons across the nation, with a further 1,500 ready to moblise from Ustio to Sarviats in an emergancy

Hydria Air Force Base, Ustio North

Three Airbus A-400M's sat on the tarmac airstrip. Behind them, over 500 Ustian Army soldiers were awaiting take-off for Sarviats. They were the first of three waves of troops to be delivered there, two by air and one as part of the naval Task Group Independance.

Lt. Colonel Gray stepped out of the rear of the closest A-400M. He held the megaphone to his mouth

"Attention!" he called, his voice resonating across the airfield. In a matter of seconds, the 500 troops were stood to attention. Gray stepped down into the gap between the two groups of troops.

"We've got a go" he said, his voice a low gravelly growl "You are the first of three groups of troops being deployed to Sarviats to train their soldiers, and generally bolster the places where they are weakest"

Gray looked around at the soldiers. Many of them looked eager for action.

Not much chance of that he thought.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Get a move on!" he shouted, before being drowned out by the noise of boots and shouting of the senior officers.

Ustian Waters, Task Group Independance

The UNS Indepedance, a Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier & flagship of the Ustian Navy, sat at the heart of the Task Group. Surrounding her were the Tarawa Class Amphibious Assault Ships UNS Thunder & UNS Lightning and the Ticonderoga Class Cruisers UNS Valiant, UNS Victory & UNS Honour.

Captain Drake sat in his office, reading a newspaper. There was a knock at the door.

"Come" he said, without looking up.

A messenger stepped inside

"Sir, command has given us a new tasking order" he said

Drake looked up

"Something interesting, Master Chief Wilson?" he asked

"I don't know Sir" replied Wilson "You tell me" he handed Drake the message

Drake read it quickly

"Well, it's better than being sat here doing nothing" he laughed "Set a course for Sarviat waters"

"Aye sir" said Wilson, stepping out of the office

Very well. Due to the current displacement of our troops, two groups of 500 can be delivered by A-400M transport aircraft, but the final 500 will have to be deployed via the Task Group Independance. With your permission, we wish to station the Task Group within your waters for the time being, untill our troops pull out.

The woman smiled. "My agency does not take a position on the internal policies of sovereign nations. We only help those who suffer abroad, whether as a result of disease, poverty, famine, genocide or what have you. Well, we can assist in the rebuilding of hospitals, we do have construction crews here."

"Now i supose the demolition of the old hospitals is as good as start as any. In the meantime we can help with getting the field hospitals up and running. The central government in Rolsol has given us orders to not interfere or hinder your efforts and so we will keep as much resources open to you, allow you free internal travel and issue you with Internal passports for a period of 6 months so you have free travel all over the country with no restrictions to you and your aide workers. The internal passports will also be renewed automatically should you stay longer then the 6 month period. If you have any problems at all. contact the Local party HQ and I will deal with the problem" said Alin
