[OOC: This first post is half assed...]

The border across Krasnodar was tighly controled and protected with the upmost securty. An estimated thirteen thousand chechen guard units had been given the privilage of guarding the border, a very hostile area where sparatic skirmishs came and went on a daily basis. State army regulars were the guards back-up forces, most however never really provided much support. This lack of support however was a basic strategy against the rebels to give them the confidence to attempt crossing into the states. recently the neighboring state had been the direct supply line of chechen rebels within the area of both supplies and men and by encouraging the rebels that the borders were easy to cross the middle-man force of specialist elite's picked them off or targeted them with quick response bombings. Any rebel that made it through the bombings and such alive would encounter the army regulars who sat and waited for them to attempt attacking a city or the military road which ran between Cherkesst and Stavropol' and supplied the entire border line.

The road was a main objective for rebel units, blowing the line between the two militarized cities would open a point to take Nevinnomyssk if they did it quick enough before reinforcments arrived they could easily defend the city long enough to bring in more supplies, but the londer they built those supplies up the more the CSN's plan fell into place. Warehouses and small outposts along with training camps were all out in the open. The state military could watch, via satilitte view, just about everything the rebels were doing and that openness and false sense of security would soon prove to undo everything the rebels were working for.

As night ran through the early hours of saturday things seemed quite normal on that border, nothing out of the ordinary and not even a single attack as of yet. The chechen guards were relaxed, one outpost unit had even begun taking sleeping shifts leaving 1 man awake with seven asleep. Saddly for those sleeping the silence and calm was short lived, not because of the enemy but because of the three AS-23 jets screaming overhead flying directly into the Krasnodar territory.

These new jets, the first three to enter service as well as see action, were being combat tested by being the leaders in the invasionary bombing of several predetermined supply warehouses right near the border. As the planes left sight of the outpost, located outside Gringropol, a thundering tremmor shook the ground. The men awoke to their already awake partner shouting in excitment "This shit's starting now, get up here and see this." he yelled down. Far out before them came scores of armored units and overhead twelve more jets, this time they were the remaining F-71's left within the original state air force, flew by just as the explosions from the AS-23's bombing runs echoed out to their position. The armored unit's drove by, the leading commander giving a wave and a nod to the guards who by now were standing in awe at what was occuring. Brand new L1A1 "Longarm" MBT's, twenty eight in all, were cruising by in sets of two seperated by two humvee's each. The tail end of the battle group composed of three mobile ground-to-air vehicles and a last unit of six IFV's.

That battlegroup (BG-1) along with two others composing of the same equiptment were rolling into Krasnodar, (BG-2) one entering near the town of Novolokin near the top of the territory and another (BG-3) near the bottom near by Psebay. Psebay would be taken without much trouble, much of the public already supported the CSN and with intelligence gathered from the area the would be able to cut the lower areas of Krasnodar through Adygea all the way to Sochi before the week was over, the upper area would require careful working not to force rebels to run into roman territory. The 2nd Battlegroup would hug the Roman borders to assure the romans safty and neutrality within the conflict while the 3rd battlegroup had direct orders to Sochi without care of rebels retreating into the Eurasion empire. As they saw it, the arab's deserved such trash for protecting Kazakhstan after the fourth reich fell.

It wasn't a surprise to the Empire when the Nerotikan situation in Chechnya exploded. It was seen as an opportunity and treated like one too. The Ministry of Intelligence clandestinely funnelled arms, intelligence, and money to Chechen rebels against the Nerotikan government from day one, moving arms secretly up through Krasnodar and into Chechnya through shell companies, thirty-party groups, and everything else that a black operation would entail. Everyone in the MOI knew that, one day, it would become knowledge what they were doing or what they did and they were careful and cautious. They covered their tracks and made sure that if and when the Nerotikans found out, it would be much later in the game and it would take time and effort to uncover. Resources would be wasted tracking down the Layartebian connection. Satellites were tasked and realigned to orbit over the area frequently. Schedules were frequently changed and altered and the Nerotikans would never, truly know when a bird was overhead, especially a Layartebian one. Layartebian spy satellites were some of the most expensive, advanced, and capable satellites in the world. Their very names were classified beyond any scope of a doubt.

Timing was the benefit though. The Nerotikan situation came during the Ukrainian War. As Layartebian military units took up anchor in the Black Sea and fought alongside Eurasian counterparts against Ukrainian rebels, here came the Nerotikans. Layartebian military power projection in the region was at an all time high and, by Layartebian standards, it was really quite low. Layartebian assets in Turkey and Iran as well as Europe could easily hold off any Nerotikan force until the real cavalry arrived from North America. The Layartebian order of battle in the theater was already massive and it could easily grow.

All entries with the asterick (*) are top secret IC meaning that specifications on them are not public, performance is not public, their existence is not public, and knowledge of their existence may be deduced only to rumors and grainy photography taken by a lucky UFO nutso who may have gotten close enough to a secret airbase to actually get a shot off.

When the Nerotikans finally moved into Krasnodar it wasn't by surprise either. The Ministry of Intelligence had enjoyed their short stay in the independent country and at first word that Nerotikans were crossing the border, they cleared out and burned their traces. The war would take on a different face now as the Chechens would receive arms alongside the Krasnodarians opposed to the Nerotikans.

The chechen rebels had now moved theirs forces dramatically into Krasnodar, with the state's military advance into the territory the rebels had chosen this to become to main battlefield now for their fight for independence. They were cornered now and chose to fight like dogs before giving up Krasnodar, the last land they had official claim on. In Sochi, which had become a major port for the transport of imported weapons and equiptment, the town was still running as usual. The news of the state's invasion had reached the town and while some were rejoicing for the coming liberation many were shouting in the streets and damning the state for its attacks. Plane's flew overhead, the state airforce was doing a fly by of the town to check locations for what was to come to Sochi. As soon as the plane's left sight a disturbing explosion near the port was heard then another as missiles came in from long ranged bases inside of the already controlled chechen territories. The missiles, simple laser guided air burst missiles, were coming in (22 were targeted to Sochi) to distroy the main port of sochi which intel had claimed to be rebel controlled.

Boat's, people, vehicles and shipments were lit ablaze as the missiles covered the area in explsosive fire that surprised even those in support of the state's invasion. The rebel's now, with even more reason to fight, were now fortifying the city in preparation. Messages went out to all units in the area that Sochi would become a main location for the fight against the state, they urged rebel units to pull from their positions and move to defend Sochi at all costs.

(Im gunna finish this post tomorrow and add another one when I do, I just needed to update threads and this one needed to come back to life)

The Empire was watching as the Nerotikans took aim and blasted the port of Sochi. Unexpectedly, it was obvious that the Nerotikans had learned of the rebel activity in the port and their subsequent destruction came as both a surprise and a blessing. In blasting the port, the Nerotikans had wiped out the single largest amount of evidence that could link the Empire to supplying the rebels in Chechnya. Of course, evidence still existed but it was weak, sparse, and convienently hidden. The Nerotikans would have to dig to find it and they wouldn't be able to convince many that the Empire was truly out for blood.

The intelligence arm of the Empire remained in full swing, watching the Nerotikans and listening to their every move. Arms continued to be funnelled north, towards Chechnya, less now due to the Nerotikan advance and pressure in Krasnodar. With the port of Sochi now aflame, devestated from the Nerotikan airstrike, the Empire was without its biggest foothold in the territory, which would mean their arms shipments would dreadfully wane.

Tons upon tons of weapons had been delivered already, the most numerous of which included the Russian-made AD-142 Yastreb assault rifle. Anti-personnel landmines were included in the mix. A large number of these were Claymores and modernized M16 landmines, which were improved versions of the ancient, German S-mine or Bouncing Betty. These newer versions were made of plastic, making them significantly more impossible to detect. Buried underground and equipped with a prong-type fuse, the mine was particularly catastrophic to its victims. They could not be defused or rendered safe very easily and especially not when they were activated. Once pressure was applied to the mine prings, the mine was active. Removing the pressure would detonate it and there was no way to render it safe, once this had occurred. The mine would simply pop out of the ground to waist height and detonate, spreading ball bearings in a 360° pattern as far away as 35 meters. Shrapnel could fly as far as 200 meters away. Few would survive within its lethality radius and those who did would be permanently maimed for life. Included with these mines were modernized versions of the M14, which was a blast mine, meant more to maime than kill. Lessons provided to the Chechens would be to bury these and similar blast mines underneath the fragmentation mines, to make demining that much more difficult and to enhance the effects of the mine itself. Anti-tank mines, mostly plastic, were included just the same. Aside from these relatively simple devices, hand grenades, machine guns, assault rifles, pistols, bullets galore, explosives of almost all types, and a number of other crude weapons.

Crude weapons weren't the only things the Chechens would receive. Among the most advanced were the Stinger-RMP Block II surface-to-air missiles, which were designed specifically to shoot down helicopters and fighters. Dubbed the Advanced Stinger, it was equipped with an imaging-infrared seeker, making it highly immune to flares. In addition, the increased range of this variant made anything within eight kilometers horizontally and almost six kilometers vertically a target. Other devestating weapons would be sent over, which included advanced, anti-tank rockets such as the SRAW, Javelin, AT4, and many other types. The Nerotikans had been fighting against a rebel entity that was extremely well supplied and horrifically capable. These rebels were not a simple rag-tag army anymore and despite the now waning Layartebian supplies, they still had enough amassed to make a significant stand. Given that most overland routes into Chechnya and Krasnodar were a no-go, the rebels would be glad they had these stores and supplies, to weather the storm, so to speak.
