Good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the world, this is Roger James with KBS News.

Weather forecasters are watching the first Tropical Storm of the 2008 Hurricane Season. Tropical Storm Amanda was located at 17.5N and 57.8W and is moving towards the Northwest at 15 MPH. Maximum sustained winds around the center were estimated at 55mph, with higher gusts.

The latest forecast takes Amanda on a general Northwest track for the next three days, and then curves it westward for days 4 and 5 as a ridge of high pressure will build over the Hunlian Ocean. Strengthening is also forecast over the next 5 days with Amanda becoming a hurricane within the next 36 hours. On the projected path, Amanda will be within 500 miles of Ulria Beach in Southeastern Kinstantia at the end of the forecast period. Residents are urged to continue to monitor the progress of the storm.

As for national weather, expect continued warm and sunny conditions across much of the nation, the exception being the Northwest where a storm system is pushing in causing cooler temperatures and moderate rainfall.

The high temperature in Keilvarga was 97 today. The record high for today was 109 degrees recorded in 1971.

KBS News interrupts your programming for a special report. From Keilvarga, Kinstan, here is Tracy Doogan.

Good evening Kinstantia! We've just received news that Kinstantia has expanded its borders to fill in our entire region. Many Kinstantians believe this as their manifest destiny. This now makes the United States of Kinstantia roughly 19.6 million square kilometers (twice the total area of the United States of America including Alaska, Hawaii and the District of Columbia).

President Nathaniel Tempest said at a press conference just moments ago that the lack of peoples in the region along with a growing population allowed the Federal Government to expand its political and physical borders.

New Hanover, our region, has long been storied to have been part of Kinstantia thousands of years ago, but as the population centered around the seat of government, most areas outside of the current borders of Kinstantia became uninhabited.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program

All eyes are focused on newly upgraded Hurricane Amanda located near 19.7N and 60.3W. Maximum sustained winds are 85 knots (98 mph), with higher gusts. This makes Amanda a Category 2 hurricane on the Shaffer Stinson Scale. Amanda is continuing on her Northwestern journey through the Hunlian Ocean.

The forecast track continues Northwest for the next 2 days until a ridge of high pressure builds North of Amanda, turning her more westward. On this track, Hurricane Amanda will be moving dangerously close to the Southeastern Coastline of Kinstantia at the end of the 5-day forecast track. Residents are advised to begin preparations in the event that Hurricane Amanda should slam into the Kinstantian coastline.

Good morning, I'm Chet Chester with your morning KBS Newsline!

Hurricane Amanda has rapidly intensified over the last day. The latest advisory placed Amanda at 23.1N 75.1W or 1245 miles ESE of Urlian Beach, Kinstantia. Maximum sustained winds are near 145 MPH, making Amanda a Category 4 on the Shaffer Stinson Scale. A Hurricane Warning has been issued for the Duffy Islands. A Hurricane Watch and a Tropical Storm Warning are now in effect from Port Orlando to Dariopolis. A Hurricane Watch means hurricane conditions are possible in the watch area within the next 48 hours. A Hurricane Warning may be required later today for portions of the Kinstantian coastline. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Port Orlando southward to Key Hinson.

Hurricane Amanda has begun her turn towards to west as the ridge of high pressure has begun to build to her north. Residents along the Southern and Central coastline of Kinstantia should monitor the progress of this storm.

Beginning tomorrow, we will have live reports from the coast with Robyn Thumb in Urlian Beach, Thomas Winslow in Dariopolis, Cary Dews in Tristram Beach and Kyle Stetser in Surfers Cove.

The heat wave continues in Kinstantia. High temperatures combined with high humidities to create an oppressive heat in much of the nation. In Keilvarga, the high temperature reached 111F today. In Tenlia City another record was shattered as the mercury reach 107F. Continued heat is in the forecast for at least another week.

King Conner I had his coronation yesterday. King Conner becomes the youngest ever to wear the crown at age 19. He promises to do whatever his country asks of him.

President Tempest delivered his acceptance speech last night to thousands of cheering voters as he thanked them for giving him 5 more years in the Presidential Palace. And we have a clip of President Tempest speaking.

"People of Kinstantia, I heard you loud and clear today. You believe that Kinstantia is on the right track and you are unwilling to change back to the old ways. Thank you for voting for me. I promise the next 5 years will be more exciting than the last!"

The "Do Over" Election went off without a hitch as there have been no reports of voter fraud or vote tampering. Election officials were happy to certify the results and deliver them to the House of Representatives.

The USS Nathaniel J Tempest, the navy's newest and most advanced Aircraft Carrier, was scheduled to conduct war games beginning this afternoon, but with Hurricane Amanda closing in on our coastline, the plans have been rescheduled for two weeks from today.

An explosion rocked downtown Tenlia City yesterday morning as a gas leak was ignited by a careless thrown cigarette. The explosion blew out windows of home in a 2 block radius of the epicenter. Tenlia Gas Works personell reported that minor injuries were sustained by workers in the area trying to repair the leak.

The House of Representatives voted yesterday to allow titles of nobility and small land grants to be issued to those of notable standing in the nation. The state of Indira has been created in the newly aquired territories for such a purpose. Though they have noble titles, they won't be having surfs work for them as Kinstantian law requires all workers to be paid for their services. THey also approved a bill to help combat VODAIS through a vigorous education and health program.

That's all for this morning's KBS Newsline. Im Chet Chester, have a good day!

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, I'm Holly Hunter and this is KBS News Newsline!

(important music playing)

Our top story is the aftermath of Hurricane Amanda. Hurricane Amanda slammed into the city of Dariopolis with winds sustained at 192mph with one gust reported at almost 225mph. The scene down in the city is that of a war zone. International Aid workers are frantically trying to rescue as many people as possible from the storm's aftermath.

Meanwhile, the quaint, preserved, quiet town of Surfer's Cove has been destroyed utterly and totally.

In other news, Hurricane Brian is continuing to stay out at sea as it is now moving north through the middle of the ocean. Forecasters say it should stay out to see. The Kinstantian Hurricane Center is currently watching an area off of our east coast for potential developement.

The Coronation for King Conner I will be going on tomorrow as planned. Foreign dignitaries and heads of state have already RSVP'd for the formal state dinner at Huntingdon Castle, and there is still room for more!

Speaking of Conner I, in less than 2 months is his royal majesty's birthday, and the House of Representatives is undertaking a bill to make August 29th a Federal holiday.

King Conner and Rob returned home from their stay at a tropical resort to begin to survey the damage left behind by Hurricane Amanda.

The Baseball League will resume normal games one week from today.

That's all for KBS News Newsline, I'm Holly Hunter.
