Alphatetra Territory

The Kiravian colonial transport Isusär waited in the territorial waters of Claim A4, uncreatively incorporated to the Empire as Alphatetra.

While the 700 Kiravian settlers aboard were preparing to make landfall, two boats went ahead of them, landing on Alphatetra Island. The island was the only dry land in the claim area, but even though it was relatively small, it had two advantages: Recources and Isolation. The silver, gems, and timber [OOC: Ralkovia, may I add this?] would provide excellent export income, while the state of being an island would let the Kiravian settlers work without worrying about pesky neighbours.

But actually, they would not be alone. The Empire had allowed up to fifty Falkasians to live on the island, and would allow even more to work there temporarily.

The boats were brought up onto the beach, where a Kiravian military officer directed his men to stand at attention. Battle Hymn of the Empire was played as two soldiers planted the Imperial Star in the sand. The officer then unfurled a large sheet of carbon paper and said,

"By the Authority of Emperor Irasur Seawind, I hereby confirm the Imperial claim to this island and its associated areas, and hereby pronounce that on this sixteenth day of Seventhmonth, 21980*, the island is officially incorporated under the Sovereign right of our glorious federacy as the Territory of Alphinsula."

With the name changed to something marginally more creative (The new name meant "Alpha Island" in Coscivian), the settlers began to arrive. Boats carrying colonists and supplies were already nearing the island from the transport. Now that their ceremonial duties were complete, the Imperial soldiers set about reconnaisance and erecting a watchtower at the island's highest point.

The civilians, meanwhile, continued bringing the boatloads of food, equipment, building materials, personal baggage, durables, and other paraphernalia ashore. Some were taken aside and put in commandos to set up tents or unload water for their fellow colonists who were charged with harder labours.

But standing on a beach rock, directing it all, stood Hector Lostforest. He was both an accomplished leader and frontiersman, and had been appointed Territorial Governor by Emperor Raincedar. After sending what felt like the hundreth civil officer away with his approval on some detail, the turned and looked to the south. His hunter's eyes could barely make out the dark shapes of vessels prowling the mainland's coasts.

Just like on Alphinsula, settlers and soldiers are plugging away all over the archipelago. Time would tell how it would pay off.

A Falkasian transport ship idled off coast of land plot A4, waiting while the Kiravians unloaded and began establishing themselves on the island. Due to a deal struck by the two powers and overall graciousness of the Kiravian government, they had allowed up to 50 Falkasian settlers to live as permenant residents of the island. Although the settlers would live on the island for a time, their main goal was the construction of an offshore drilling platform.

As the Kiravian flag was unvealed and signalled the claim on the island, the ship's engines began to hum as they warmed up and began to move the ship forward. As the freightor neared a shallow area of the beach where other ships had docked, Captain Alexei Iskev surveyed the supplies he could see through the open loading bay in front of the bridge. Dump trucks, bulldozers, food, gasoline, logging equipment, a single UAZ jeep... All of which were going to be used mutually by the Falkasians and Kiravians during construction on the island. After, to be used to construct an oil platform.

Two large doors that made up the bow section slowly opened as the ship approached the beach, allowing the carried equipment to drive or be carried off without any help. No sooner had the ship reached the beach when there was a large swarm of equipment going in and out of the gap.

Conditions had not been very good on the ship during the voyage. Every available space had been used to carry cargo, which didn't leave much in the way of comfort. However, the colonists were being paid very well, almost twice as well as a normal factory worker back home. Nevertheless, the colonists were happy to see dry land, even if it was only a few feet above sea level.

Immediately after everything was unloaded, they began construction on an Embassy Building to the island and local Kiravian relations. Boxes were pried open, tools were distributed, and construction began. Although it turned out looking like a shack with a Falkasian flag held up by a few nails, the settlers took pride in their handiwork, as it was the first thing they had built in their new home.

Raynsar, Alphinsula

Once everything had been unloaded, the ship departed, and the Kiravians began building Raynsar, their first town. Men began clearing the land, and marking out where structures would be put.

Alphinsula Watchtower

Meanwhile, a crew of four KE soldiers were surveying, by high-power binoculars, the waters surrounding the island from a makeshift watchtower (shack) atop the island's zenith.

"Look," said Private Winterpine, "There's a ship at eight o'clock*! It's getting closer!"

The three other soldiers, who were off-duty at the time, snacking on dry meat while discussing politics, jumped up and ran inside. They took out their own binoculars and looke dout to sea. They saw it as well.

"It's got the Falkasian flag!" said Corporal Kinmec.

"Right on time, too. Private Rentfield?"

"Sir,"

"Go back to the landign site and inform Governor Lostforest. He'll want to greet them."

"Yes sir." he said, dropping his heavy overcoat and running East.

Governor's Tent, Raynsar

A little less than an hour later, Private Rentfield entered Governor Lostforest's tent and saluted.

"At ease, Private. Report."

"Sèr, the Falkasian settlers have arrived."

"Very well then. Did we take out the ATV's yet?"

Soon enough, the Governor and one of the other settlers were driving through the island's forests to where the Falkasians had landed.

In another three hours of the creation of this message, the carrier group shall arrive as planned. Upon arrival Imperial Forces and Colonial Guards will scoure the area and abtain any foreign personel found in the area and place them in Grestonian custody. They shall be kept in Grestonian custody until a fine of $1,000,000 (1 million) USDs is wired to the Colonial Governments Funds and Treasury. Furthermore, any foreign military assets found in the area will be secured and recycled into Grestonian resources. In a military group is to show aggression towards Grestonians in the area, the Colonial forces will retaliate and will initiate war in and around the area of these islands.

Ralkovian Island Territorial Waters

The first ships of the fleet pulled into the territorials waters, dragging along with them the boats carrying the settlers. The Colonial Guardsmen kept the peace upon the vessels as they pulled to the docks. The government for the area was almost already formed. The governor would be a scholar, Dr. Richard Geone. Richard had already formed the rest of the staff, the person in charge of Colonial Military Affairs was Captain Connor Moorewood, and the Colonial Foreign Affairs was left in the hands of David Finch. David Finch was to be taken out of his position once preset plans fell in place though.

The cargo ships Fragile Goods, Live Cargo, Immediate Dispatch, and Unknown Address broke through the waves as they approached the island. The Kenavt settlers were nowhere to be seen yet, allowing the Barronians a valuable chance to get ahead and begin construction.

In a protective formation were the 25th, 27th, and 33rd Shipping Protection Squadrons and the 9th Colonial Defence Squadron, ensuring that the operation went unhindered.

"Sir, reaching dispatch distance."

The captain waved off a briefing officer, earning an annoyed look in the process. Leaning to his radio, he replied to the Bridgemaster. "Get me Live Cargo. I'll be on-bridge in five." He made his apologies, before turning on his heel and double-timing to the bridge.

"Report."

"Sir, dispatch distance reached in the next five minutes. Recommend a preliminary sweep with AWACS and light fighters, followed by a detailed helo-borne sweep with cover. Once that's done, we broadcast claim details and the begin the landing, ideally ahead of the Kenavt bunch."

"Excellent. Make it so Bridgemaster."

"Aye sir. Lieutenant, cruise speed. Ensign, bearing two-six-zero. Relay that to Com-Con. Begin scanning maneuvres, I want those islands mapped. I want as much data as ObServ have, including updates every hour. Let's get this underway people."

From the sky, in HMA Apollo, the effects could be seen in whole. The formation began to slow, and the aircraft carriers began releasing aircraft. Frigates and destroyers began to fan out, helicopters beginning patrols and corvettes moving swiftly between the formation into shallower water.

The Proteus, a cargo airship, droned overhead. Inside was the major equipment needed to be dropped deep inside the territory. Complementing the equipment were the Skyjesters, an elite team of birdmen able to leave an aircraft miles ahead of target, gliding down and landing with or without parachutes in a variety of locations. Equipped with sophisticated recon equipment, they operated either alone or as part of a 4-man team dependant on situation.

"Check your gear, fellas, we've made land. Dispatch in fifteen."

40 men immediately began checking harnesses, burgen packs, and the wingsuits. Guns were strapped down, bags tightened to backs, and arms and legs flexed and spread to test the suits. This was not an unknown situation for the Skyjesters; whilst only a recently-formed initiative, they had proven their worth time and again through undercover incursions, flying in such a way as to resemble flocks of birds on radar systems. Flying at up to 70mph, and on occasion aided by HyPox engines for longer distances, they were the ultimate in covert reconnaisance, with the only traces left behind them being buried wingsuits.

-----

A small vessel moored at a temporary dock. The motor launch cut her engines, and a stately-looking man in full dress stepped onto the dock, followed by 3 obviously high-ranking officers. He walked to the beach, taking his time as he surveyed the scene around him.

Hovercrafts laden with vehicles and supplies moved to and from the beach, helicopters, planes and the occasional airship all doing their part. He checked his pocketwatch: 3.15, time for the ceremony. Around him, men began to cease work temporarily. Hovercrafts began to slow, hovering in place. A group of 4 men stood ready with a flag pole, ready to signify ownership of the land for Barronia and the Queen.

"Atten-shun!" The officer's voice rang out across the beach. Every man stood sharp, waiting for the commander's next words.

"Gentlemen! Ladies! Servants of Her Majesty! You are here today to expand the imperium, to light the way of those unknowing of Barronia and her culture, to further our influence and ability across the globe. You, ladies and gentlemen, are on the forefront of this. You quite possibly hold the most honourable job in the nation and on this world! It is with that in mind that I christen these lands Armatia - a tribute to you, ladies and gentleman, on the immediate and forthmost arm of Her Majesty's Services. Now, I trust you will all join me in a salute of the raising of the Crown Flag and the official declaration of these lands in unity with all colonies of the Crown!"

Soon, the housing section of Raynsar village was complete. A small supply ship had arrived with basaltic gravel for streets (Kiravians detest asphalt in their settlements), and extra cement to build defencive walls.

The main project now was completing a dock. Another vessel from the WestPacifica Trading Company would be arriving soon with mining equipment. Unlike the initial load of supplies, the bulky machinery could not be ferried to the island by boat.

While lay settlers were at work sinking girders into the sand, a team of prospectors were performing tests on the silver and gemstone deposits. Aside from sea oil, the valuable minerals would probably be the island's chief export earner.

OOC:This will be my last definite post for the next week and a half. I hope to make this thread fun when I get back. I shall start it with this...it is up to you to decide how you interpret the event that just occurred.

IC:On all ships that were heading to the newly open land the ships began to pull to what was the "extra territory." It was nothing dangerous or harmful in anyway, The weather was clear and radio and other communication were fine. It just seemed as if their was a weak magnetic pull on the ships. The ships engines could easily defeat the pull with only a bit of steering and engine power. All in all the event only lasted a minute, but that was all the Ralkovians worried about. Within an hour a small detachement of Ralkovian naval ships had been sent out, they did not invade or even trespass the territory bought by the other countries. What they were doing was guarding a large civilian science research vessel that was dropping small submarines.

An official document was put out for all inquires on the matter. It stated that a strange occurence in magnetic levels has occured. There is no information of why it occured but Ralkovian scientific officials are looking into the matter. The event was strange and has never happened before and they believe it won't happen again. Foreign vessels with territory on the islands near this event should not be alarmed at all. Ralkovia is looking into this event with full interest and its top safety officials believe this was a one time thing.

In the distance, the Falkasian settlers saw a giant plume of dust rise up out of the forest canopy, signalling the approach of a motorized vehicle. As the cloud moved closer, the settlers began to assemble in front of the shack and await the arrival of who ever the cloud accompanied. Two ATVs broke the tree line, one of which held the governer, and the other a soldier.

A greeting party had been sent, and the settlers were ready to recieve them with open arms.

As the Governor and the soldier left the forest, they saw the Falkasian welcoming party. They slowed down and angled towards them.

"Greetings, friends," said the Governor after his partner and he stopped their vehicles and disembarked. "My name is Hector Lostforest, the Kiravian governor of this island. I'm honoured to have all of you here, and look forward to Kiro-Falkasian cooperation in developing Alphinsula."

The dock was complete, and was being used to unload large machine parts that would be assembled and use to extract the silver and gemstones.

The vast, stoic grey girth of the HPS Superlative plowed through the dark blue waters, bound for the new Faxanavian colony of New Rightsland. The huge Galileo Class supercarrier left a trail of sea spray behind it as it pushed ahead.
To its left and right, the similarly massive HPS Zeus and HPS Poseidon clipped along at the same rate. Following in their wake was the 6th Carrier Battle Group of the Faxanavian Republican Navy. On board the decks of each ship, men sat or worked, all waiting for the loud call which suddenly echoed from above. "LAND HO! LAND HO!" Almost as one, the men rose, looking out across the horizon to where, off in the distance, New Rightsland sat. The tiny island was far from the mainland, but it was hoped that it would yield more then its worth. As the ships drifted closer, the ship grew alive with the bustle of a preparation to land.

"Therefore, I claim this land in the name of the people and nation of the Promethian Republic of Faxanavia!" A loud cheer went up as captain Jonathan Isaac plunged the flag deep into the sandy beach of New Rightsland. The men of the 6th set to work immediately: they had much to do. An airstrip had to be layed and paved, and a base encampment had to be constructed from the pre-constructed houses which had been brought along. The captain conversed quietly on the beach with one of his lieutenants. "Digsby, how goes the unloading?" The lieutenant, a young, sweaty man, mopped his brow and responded, "Well, sir. It goes well. We're unpacking the pre-constructed homes, and the artillery and vehicles will be next." The captain nodded approvingly. "Send a communique to our fellows on the mainland- Pan-Arab Barronia, Kenavt, and Greston. Tell them we wish to meet, and that all is going according to plan." The man nodded accordingly, and scurried off.

Green Light

Proteus

"Green, green, green!"

The wind tore through the cargo hold of the airship, straps rattling and groaning as they struggled to hold their wards in place.

A man clad entirely in black, with tinted goggles, breathing masks and helmet stood at the door, beckoning his comrades through to the cold air. One by one, they filed through, each being whipped back as their suits caught the air and soon near-disappeared into the sky.

As the last man made his quick exit through the cargo door, it began to close. The wind ceased, leaving the hold as quiet as it should ever have been.

Red Light

Immediate Dispatch

"Sir, we're detecting anomalous magnetic activity around the island."

"Source?"

"Unknown, but we're being pulled in toward the island."

"Can we counteract?"

"Aye sir, adjusting now."

The ship shuddered slightly as thrusters at the bow began to push the ship, counteracting the slight pull that the island gave. Soon, the satellite positioning system aboard the ship would give the signal that acceleration had stopped.

"First Mate, contact the Salutation. See if they've had the readings we have, and try to persuade a survey team onto the island."

"Aye captain. Right away."

BMS Salutation, Foxbury Class Carrier

"Sir, Skyjesters have been dispatched. Proteus is turning back toward the beachhead."

"Excellent. Bridgemaster, any more information on the anomaly?"

"Negative, sir. ObServ are attempting to liaise with other intelligence agencies and will update us accordingly."

"Bloody spooks. Okay, I want a group-wide TacNote sent out - all non-necessary vehicles and aircraft are to be grounded until further notice. We don't need another one of those screwing up a load of electronics until we're sure of what we're dealing with. Ensign, get that sent."

"Aye captain."

Barronian Overseas Territory of Armatia

The activity on the beach had resumed following the ceremony, the only reminder being the now-fluttering flag. Building materials were being unloaded, with the Royal Barronian Corps of Engineers now commandeering the various off-road and plant vehicles being unloaded from the hovercraft. A basic Sea and Port Authority had been established, allowing a semblence of order including traffic lanes and sea conditions courtesy of the corvettes releasing various buoys, weather devices and other assorted paraphanalia.

At the top of the beach, the whirring and revving of chainsaws could be heard as clearing began for the main road inland. Once the harbour had been fully developed, little would remain of the sandy beach, swallowed up by the tarmac-and-concrete of prefabricated warehouses and docks for the cargo ships.

Inland

<Two men. Armed. Bravo, cover. Alpha, on me.>

Alpha team moved slowly forward through the brush, endeavoring not to alert the men to their presence. Bravo team hung back, weapons trained in case the worst should happen.

<Two, Three. Take them. Four, with me. Move now.>

Black canvas bags clamped down over the heads of the men, and they were jerked to the ground. Their weapons were yanked from their hands, and they were dragged kicking into the woods. One and Four moved slowly backwards, covering the retreat, before grabbing the legs of the captives and disappearing into the dark.

"Your name."
"Who are you?!"
"Your name."
"Tell us who you are!"
"In time. Your name."
"A--Agapito. Agapito."
"Well, Agapito, you're now standing in sovereign territory of Barronia. Which means you're illegal immigrants whether you want to be or not."
"Bu-"
"No. You're illegal. However, and this all depends on you, you, your family, your friends, whoever you live with, can all be given citizenship if, and only if, you give us everything you know about this island."

The permanent watchtower (http://home.comcast.net/~w7xaq/images/lo_squaw1.gif) had been completed atop Alphinsula. Looking from it, Private Winterpine [The same one from 'Scramble for Africa'] saw the Barronian ships off the coast of BOT Armatia.

"Ah...The Barronians are here. It's nice to be on good terms with the neighbours."

Argensór, Alphinsula

First had come Raynsar, then the Falkasian settlement, then the watchtower. Argensór (Silver Village) had become the fourth inhabited place on the island. Just outside of the village, which was little more than a cluster of prefab buildings, workyards, and machine sheds surrounded by a chain-link fence, excavations were beginning on what would become the entrance to the silver mine. Of course, it would first be a lead mine, from which silver would be drawn, but it's fruits would leave the island as silver, which would require processing plants that would create jobs on the island.

Raynsar, Alphinsula

The last supply ship for the next two months had just left, having dropped off engineering equipment for the mines, road-building supplies, a telescope for the watchtower, extra food provisions, weaponry, and an extra complement of 100 soldiers to defend the territory.

Raynsar, at 443 people, housed most of the island's population, it's only port, and nearly all of its industry. Obviously, it was made the Territorial Capital. A comparatively large building was placed near the centre of the town that would house the government offices.

As a Territory, not a Colony, Alphinsula would not have a legislature. Nor would it have any degree of home rule. Governor Lostforest, representing the Praetor and the Emperor, would have complete political control over the province's affairs.

Digsby nodded and scurried away, while Johnathan turned back to the small laptop which had been sitting in front of him. tapping lightly at the keyboard, he continued his report back home.

We have landed successfully at New Rightsland, and have begun to set up preliminary base camp. Already, the process of laying air strips has begun, although the majority of our fighters remain on board the carriers. Artillery has mostly been unloaded off of the ships and set up in a defensive position, although it may be mobilized as seen necessary. The men seem in high spirits, and young Digsby is making for an admirable assistant. All in all, things are going splendidly, though this is only the beginning." With a last stroke of the enter key, Johnathan fired off the e-mail to the main Faxanavian Colonial office. He reclined in his chair, and wondered idly when he would see some action on this island. "Thank you. So, tell me about Falkasia. Our Empire has taken quite an interest in your nation."

"I'd love to tell you about Falkasia and it's history.

Falkasia, as you may or may not know, is a relatively large country in the Baltic region of Europe. Our national animal is the Imperial Falcon, a native of the Germanic region of Europe, but migrates to our country every summer. Our people are very friendly and compassionate. They are always willing to help people in need. Our military is fairly large and well-trained, boasting some of the best tank and infantry commanders.

Now for the history.

We were originally part of the Soviet Union, absorbed in without our consent. Then, when it collapsed in the late 80's we rebelled against the puppet government they had set up and established one run by the Falkasian people. This government, although labeled as a Psychotic Dictatorship by the WA, is actually a democracy. We elect our leaders, but the leaders have supreme dictorial powers over us. These powers are to be used to benefit the people, and our consitiution has an amendment in it to prevent abuse of power. It has been only recently that we have entered the international spotlight.

Anything else you'd like to know?"

"Fascinating. Our homeland, Kirav, takes up most of what we call the Northern Continent. It was discovered by the Coscivian Empire, who settled the eastern part of it. We'd probably still be part of it now, but trouble in Coscivia lead the Emperor there to give an aristocracy control over the colonies, who rebelled and became a confederacy of republics. They moved westward, settling the rest of our current territory, and then kept on building colonies overseas. Alphinsula is the newest name on a long list.

So, are your people Teutonic or Slavic?"

"Aye. Our language family, Coscivian, is Indo-European, but most Kiravians are Coscivs, a distinct racial group. But our language and very fair skin lead us to be mistaken for Europeans. We do share many small cultural similarities with the European peoples, though. Particularly the Celts."

"Very interesting. I guess our two countries have more in common than what was originally thought."

OOC: Sorry Cyberverse. Unless you were part of the Ralkovian Land-grab and got some land for yourselves, you can't post here. This thread is for the nations who were able to buy the land before the frenzy started. If you want, there may be some land left.

"Lord Governor!"

"Hmmm?"

"Your launch, my Lord. She's ready for your boarding."

"Ah, excellent, quite so. Elizabeth, Chivvers? The Fairmile is ready to go. Time for a spot of tea, perhaps, and then we'll board. I'll take it in my study, I've a telegraph to prepare."

The construction was well underway, with plant equipment across the beach and making their way rapidly inland. The first buildings had been constructed, notably the Governor's Colonial Development Administration Center, now a central hub for directing the development effort.

Raynsar

A silver refinery was under construction, and the Empire's Gems & Precious Substances Office had opened a regulatory branch in the town, to record and inspect the quantities of beryl and other semiprecious and precious stones that were being extracted.

Outside of the town's walls, farm plots were starting to emerge from the forest.

OOC:I AM BACK

The magnetic wave could be felt again as the nephew of the emperor leaned over the ships side. The magnetic wave increased around the research vessel the nephew was on. The pull was incredible it pulled him. He forced himself past the hatch door closing it. The pull of the magnetic wave began to make the ship list. It toppled over sinking to the bottom of the sea in little over 5 seconds. Ralkovian patrols went on high alert. The rumor quickly spread that some foreigners had brought submarines into the area and had hit the ship with them. Heavy anti-submarine ships were deployed and a perimeter set up around it.

The emperor was outraged. He smashed the glass table he was eating on as his personal assistant told him of what had happened. He cursed but soon emotion gave way to logic. He would need to address his people first and then the other nations. He wrote out his speech and appeared the following day in front of the television and computer of every Ralkovian citizen.

"My fellow Ralkovians. Yesterday my nephew, Jessem the 2nd drowned along with 300 other brave Ralkovians. We do not know the true cause of this misfortune that has befallen us but we will find out. Those responsible will be mercilessly be hunted down and killed."

Emperor Dire got up from his chair and walked towards the window behind him. He would find out who or what caused Jessems death and take his own revenge.

He sent out an address to all nations involved in the colonisation of the islands off of Ralkovia. "Yesterday my nephew died mysteriously. The ship he was on sunk within seconds. We know it was not any surface attack or air attack. We believe it was by submarine. If you have any submarines in a 100 mile radius of the islands. Tell them to give themselves up for Ralkovian investigation. If we find any submarines in the area that do not give themselves up immediately, we will verify their nationality and they will be destroyed. The nation will then be kicked off from the islands and any embassies will be shut down immediately."

The Kiravian Empire send its concoldences to Emperor Dire on the loss of his nephew. We deny any responsibility for the attack that sunk his ship, and further deny any knowledge of it. We have no submarines in the area, and our only military forces in the region are 115 soldiers stationed on Alpha Island in the Alphinsula Territory.

Dear sir,
I assure you personally that there are no Faxanavian submarines in the area, and if there are, they most certainly did not sink your ship nor kill your nephew. I am most sorry to hear of your loss, and send my condolences.

Respectfully yours,
Charles Digsby
Lieutenant, Faxanavian Republican Navy

Digsby rolled his eyes. Did they truly think a Faxanavian submarine had sunk the ship? If they had, there wouldn't have been any bodies to find...

OOC:no bodies were found. The ship just sunk and no life boats were around.

Ralkovian recovery submarines began there descent into the murky waters.
Their mission was simple, find out the cause of the sinking, find any evidence and get it to the ministry of intelligence and the emperor.
The sub finally reached the ship. It was bent all out of shape from the INSIDE. It was as if someone with a hammer had tried to get out of the ship. The soldiers inside began to put on the SCUDPS(self contained underwater diving pressure-resistant suit). They would head out in 5 minutes for preliminary investigation.

After a single week, a small Falkasian town had been set up. There were houses for the settlers sleep and relax, a small diner for them to eat, a couple gravel roads to travel on, and a helipad to provide access to the main the permanent Falkasian settle ment on the other side of the island, as well as the future oil platform. Now that they had their own needs taken care of, they would go and help the Kiravians where ever they needed it.

The current Kiravian project, now that the mines were underway, was to build a road between Raynsar and the Falkasian town to ease transportation. Since most of the colonists had left colonial state employment to work in the mines, only about eighty workers were available for construction. 200 Ryouese deportees from Greston had been requested, but the message may or may not have reached Kartika by now. They would indeed need some help.

Using the construction equipment brought ashore, the Falkasians began building a road blindly in the general direction the Kiravians. The only guidence they possessed was a dust cloud in the distance, growing ever nearer as the road progressed.

Behind that dust cloud toiled dozens of Kiravians, the displaced soil masking their distinctively pale skin as they used their minimal machinery to dig out their roadbed that crept blindly towards the Falkasians.
