UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF BURTILANA

Dear nation of the world,

As part of our plans to distance ourselves from the dark days under a dictatorship, to raise our economic profile, and our nation's wealth, we turn to all of you with our economic doors open.
We wish to create economic deals with you, please visit the governmental website (http://www.freewebs.com/socialiststatesburtilana/deals.htm)to see our resources and produce, what we lack, what we have an abundance of, and our current deals. Then reply either here or on the government website with a deal request.
We shall then either accept or decline the deal proposal depending on a number of undisclosed factors. If we decline we shall give reasons.

If you need anymore information on our nation, about airports, seaports, geography etc. they are all also on the government website. (http://www.freewebs.com/socialiststatesburtilana/deals.htm)

These deals are completly open to negotiation, you suggest the terms you wish, (amounts, pay, and for how long,) and we shall go from there.

We thank you for your time, and look forward to dealing with you in the future.

President
Vladimir Burte

Foreign minister
Harvey Wells

(OOC: basically this thread is designed to get some economical deals going, for us to sell our plentiful resources, and to buy what we need. Any Produces that I have not mentioned on the site, I do probably have, though it's industry is not large enough for me to sell to other nations, you can offer deals for anything to me.)

From: the Republic of Call to Power, Minister of international trade Kitty Ussher

The Republic, ever aware of its scarcity of heavy metals wishes to open up our nation to imports of both Iron and Titanium from your national extraction industries.

We also hope that through our new fond economic interests you will reciprocate by opening up your Tea, coffee and luxury food markets potentially also offering a market for our nations fruit harvests of Bananas and Mango's.

Yours Thankfully
Minister Ussher

ooc: you haven't listed a price so I assume this will be set by purchase due to need rather than outright treaties of 20 year payments

UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF BURTILANA

Dear Minister Ussher

We will gladly sell to you both metals, on what terms do you propose? (OOC: how many tonnes, cost, and for how long)

Our citizens prefer coffee to tea, so could we arrange a deal for coffee? We would like to purchase 1 million tonnes to be delivered throughout the year, for US$1000 per tonne, equalling US$1,000,000,000.00 [US$ 1 Billion]. For now we would like to keep this deal on a year by year basis, with a view to a more permanant arrangement in the future.
We would also like to import from you 1 million tonnes of chocolate on the same terms, imported throughout the year, on a year by year basis, but at what cost per tonne? Once we have recieved details we shall go from there.

Dear Mr. Wells,

Griffincrest Oil Incorporated has reviewed your government list of things needed to be imported, and found that platinum was one of the items that you needed. As such, Griffincrest is willing to meet your demand. We sell our platinum for $2,000 per ounce, which is slightly less than the average market price for the metal. Please, write back and tell me what you think.

Sincerely,

Claudius Griffincrest

Our nation does not grow it's own tobacco, but due to health implications we set a tax rate of 40%. How many tonnes would you be willing to sell us, and for how much?
Regarding sugar, we produce most of it ourself but would require deliveries of about 1000 tonnes a month, how much per tonne?

At the moment are merchant fleet is satasfactory, but as our trades expand, we may require overseas services.

The Ministry of Finance of the Democratic Republic of Leistung would like to send its greeting to Burtilana. As our Energy Bureau has not yet been able to perfect the art of nuclear fission, we would like to offer part of our vast surplus of uranium ore at a fixed price of $90 per pound. In return, we wish to provide energy for our residents, and so would like to request coal for a fixed price of $52/metric ton. The deal would call for a tariff-free exchange of 90,000 lbs of uranium for 150,000 tons of coal. If the deal is unsatisfactory, we may discuss other options.

Tobacco rates, based on the market price, is ten dollars a pound, or twenty thousand dollars a ton. (I'm making up these statistics, but I'm basing them on solid grounds, so they should be close to RL.) We will be willing to sell you part of our yearly crop, say five hundred tons.

As for sugar, we can, of course, sell you the one thousand tons, for one thousand two hundred eighty (1,280) dollars a ton.

Perhaps you have gum to sell us, or chocolate? If you have neither, we will settle for diamonds or iron.

We accept this but are wondering if we could change the amount of titanium we are importing from your nation from 35 Million pounds at 1.95 a pound to 70 Million pounds at 35.00 a pound. This would make the new value of imports from your nation to Nilpnt 3,140,332,400. This would be a bi-annually instead annually trade as this much titanium will take some time to mine. The Nilpntze merchant navy will handle the transportation from Burtilana to Nilpnt and vice versa.

After recent legislation, the Vanteland has become fully capable of providing itself with diamonds, artificial though they may be, and has taken to storing diamonds so as not to too greatly disturb the international market for the stones. As such, we will take iron and water as our only imports from your nation.

Also, recent advances in GE tobacco must force us to abort our current trade agreement. Instead, we will sell our new tobacco, which is greater in number due to year-long growing and crop rotation methods, to you. In addition to being healthy for you, in which the engineering managed to crop our the negative effects and actually make the weed give dental strength when taken as gum, the weed has taken on a particular flavor unique to the Vanteland, in addition to a faintly pink colored smoke. Be warned though: the weed we now grow is even more addictive, in that two cigarettes are now enough to develop a complete addiction, in opposition to the standard three to four required for natural tobacco.

Due to the new amounts of the weed, prices have dropped, and supply has increased. However, now, our farms work over-time to feed the tobacco habit the Vanteland has acquired. Still, we can offer for export, five thousand tons, at a decreased price of fifty cents a pound, or one thousand USD's a ton, plus shipping fees. The tobacco shall come either raw for sale to Burtilian tobacco companies, or direct under three brands: Vanguard, El Dorado, and Scarlet. They will come in a variety of pipe-tobacco, tobacco-gum, cigars, cigarettes, and snuff*. (OOC: Recently read a book on tobacco...)

As for sugar, we are afraid that demand is high, and supply is low; the prices cannot be amended.

*White dust: snuffed up the nose, and then sneezed out. (OOC: The French started it; what do you expect?)

It has come to the attention of several of our staffers in the Trade Department that you are currently looking to import Coffee and beef. Due to the recent aquisition of the Protectorate of Southern Drakovia we can supply 20% of your beef needs for roughly $4.00 a pound. Also, Coffee is a major crop in the South Oseaton Islands and in the Oseaton Home Islands. We can offer you coffee at $1.50 a pound.

We await your response.

RE: Coffee and Beef trade.

We thank you for your interest, we only need to import 12% of our beef to fulfil our needs and have spare stock.

If it is possible, we require 6 billion pounds of beef, this comes to the total of $24,000,000,000 ($24 billion.) We request this is delivered fortnightly at North Burtistan Seaport.
As for coffee, can we import a total of 9 billion pounds of coffee, for the total of $13,500,000,000 ($13.5 billion.) Again to be delivered fortnightly at North Burtistan Seaport.

If there are futher negotiations required, or if you wish for our ships to be used, rather then you own, please let us know.

Are their any pruduces or resources that we require, and that we can maybe provide?

The ships filled with the goods you require are currently on their way. As for resources we require we would be interested in importing diamonds from your country, seeing as diamond levels are relatively low in Oseato.

We would be interested in discussing such a deal.
