Entagling alliances will fall, but commerce with forever stand ~ Fujiwa Niko

追放された王国, こらーへ (The Kingdom Which is Banished, Coriler)

The King laughed merrily. "And then, he-"

"Sir, the crowd is waiting." said a frightened aid, doing his best to walk through the room without tripping.

"Seriuosly?" questioned King Yusuke IV, standing up from the council table. "Very well. Council?" The council quickly silenced itself. Rising up, they swept out of the conference room, tailed by bodyguards.

King Yusuke IV smirked wryly as the council stopped behind the curtain leading to the stage. This was, technically, his first speech as king - the speeches during the election were a mere candidate's. From what he could see, a million cheering Shansekians were standing outside, and millions more were watching from television as the king finally left exile.

"Ready, sir?" asked the still-nervous aid.

"Yes." he proclaimed, taking a sip of champagne. It begins... With a might stride, he walked onto stage to the cheering of a crowd that stretched for many city blocks.

"System check." he muttered over his ear piece, even as he waved to the crowd and walked to the podium.

"Interface complete. We've managed to penetrate the government firewalls. Coriler's entire PA system is now ours."

"Very well, link the microphone...now." he said quietly as he reached the podium.

"My people!" he shouted. His words reverberated across the city, thanks to the PA system. Wild cheers and screams erupted from the crowd as the swarmed to approach the king, only held back by the police barrier.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sir, I didn't know the government gave the king permission to access the PA system..." radioed a private as he held back the crowd.

"I doubt they actually did," muttered the chief.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It's been a long time since the monarchy was able to speak to its people, hasn't it?" he asked happily to the still cheering crowd. "Before the federation rose...what a time! When the past generation, your parents, overthrew my family and replaced it essentially with the same thing." The king pounced upon the vast youth in the crowd. "Of course, they have long since changed their minds - and you have long since chosen. The youth is not ignorant! They know why the monarchy must be reestablished! Fukada and any of ICED's nominees will lead this country to disaster!"

"While I do commend Fukada's choice of neutrality, the only reason he did it was because you, the people, made him! He failed to follow through his campaign promises, and only did it to keep himself in office! What kind of state leader cannot serve his people at his own initiative?" A burst of cheers cut through the crowd.

"There's only one thing to do, my people! We must march to Shansek, storm the government center, and take back what is ours! What do you say?" A finally flurry of jubilant screaming rang through the air, and the crowd finally broke through the barrier.

"Lulz," muttered the king over the ear piece. "Plan B."

Suddenly, the PA system started spouting out "Never Gonna Give You Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7kE1Vte2iM)" across the city. Laughter rang through the crowd, mingled with boos, as the king made his dashing escape on a limousine hidden behind the house. The king smirked as he, along with his council, shredded their 16-year-old house arrest orders and threw them out the window as they drove towards Shansek. Tailing behind them was a contingent of loyal military men, in three Doomingslad MAD-U Rhinos and one Nakil 1A3HA, stolen from the Shanseki Army.

Shansekian House of Parliament, Internal Forum, Late June Session

As always, the Forum was in a heated debate. Today, it was whether "donations" required from large corporations should be increased or not. MP's shouted at one another rampantly, and the president could barely contain them. That's when the monitors on the desks flashed with the face of an aid.

"H-honorable S-sirs," stuttered the aid, "Y-yusuke's on the m-move." The suddenly silenced forum was suddenly filled with shouts, cheers, swearing, and whispers, as well as glares to the Royalist half of Parliament.

"Quiet down, guys," spoke the president over the intercom. As soon as it calmed down, he said, "Aid, continue."

The newly reassured aid continued with more confidence. "During the rally, they somehow managed to hack into the government systems and hoist control of Coriler's PA system. We're lucky that they've either been unable to break into the other government systems, or just aren't bothering to. Anyway, they've managed to escape with several military officials, in three stolen Rhino's and a Nakil 1A3HA, and are heading towards Shansek."

"Does Yusuke and his council really think he can get through the Shanseki army with such meager forces?"

"That's the thing, sir. To dare to do such a thing...they must have support in the top echelons of the military, as well among civilians." Gasps quickly swept through the crowd. "We probably won't find out who, though, unless we issue a general order against Yusuke and gauge the reaction from both the military and the citizens."

"But that's almost like poking a bear with a stick." said Fukada.

"Do we have a choice?" mentioned an MP, and others murmured in agreement.

"Very well. Then, by the power vested in me by the people of Shansekia, I hereby suspend 'Bill #9512' until further notice. I also hereby dismiss the parliamentary session until further notice."

MP's flowed out of the room, as the president clicked a button to activate the computer's teleconference system. With a flash, the faces of the Cabinet appeared on screen, with questioning faces.

"Let's be brief. Yusuke and his men are approaching Shansek with three Rhino's and one Nakil," he said, dragging icons of the vehicles and the numbers 3 and 1 to the "Fridge Magnets" section of the conference on the touch screen. "I'm sure none of you are involved in this or support Yusuke, correct?"

Abruptly, the face of the Admiral of the Fleet suddenly dissappeared and was replaced with static. "Well, that's one person we know is on his side, Pres."

"It could just be a connection problem, but the Navy, theirs? Crap, they may already have nearly half our military funding!" Fukada sighed. "Not like the navy can help Yusuke from the sea, anyway..." A small ping rang from the computer as it calculated the route Yusuke was most likely taking. The words, "ETA AT SHANSEK ELEVEN HOURS" popped up on every Cabinet member's computer.

"We don't have much time. Send an alert to SPEN for their six o'clock line up." With a flick of the wrist, he dismissed everyone but the head general.

"Tell all local army units within seven hours of Shansek to get here ASAP and establish a semicircle facing Coriler. I want him dead, now."

"Yes, Fukada." The general paused for a moment. "I seem to be having trouble communicating with the Air Force's Chief of Staff."

"Dammit all!"

Presently there were few things that could surprise Emperor Conrad. He had just been stabbed in the back by his cousin and close friend, the Emperor of Cohenia. Thus, when he was told, with some trouble by the speaker, that in his territory of Shansekia a supposed king was declaring himself ruler of Shansekia and attempting a coup, he was unpleasantly surprised once more. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and spoke,"Right. Get me minister Ballius Liccitus."

"Yes, sire."

A television on the wall of his office was reveled by a moving section of the library wall and revealed the face of the minister to Shansekia, somewhat of an overseer in the name of Zukariaa.

"Sire, you requested me?"

"Yes," the Emperor said, pacing around his room with a bottle of Zukariaan beer,"how in the world has a coup of this sort been allowed to gain steam? What sort of shit are you and the rest of the overseers trying to pull?"

"I'm not sure how it happened. The king was under house arrest, we have no idea how he was able to gain the support of the military commanders of Shansekia," came the reply from the minister,"He is also firing up support among young Shansekians."

"Assess the situation and get back to me. I will authorize the use of whatever force is deemed neccesary to quell this man, even if we must declare martial law and have him executed," the Emperor ordered,"I will not have such crap taking place in a time of war. Or hell, at all. You have a military garrison near Bunny Island. Have it move out for Shansek. I'm transferring control of a Majestic-class battlestation. Threaten the stupid bastard with that. That ought to shut him up."

"Yes sire," came the response and the link closed and the television was hidden within the book case once more.

In Shansekia, Ballius Liccitus issued a statement, in the name of Emperor Conrad II, that if Yusuke did not cease movements he would be bombarded, from space, by Zukariaan battlestations and martial law would be declared. He stated, quite clearly, that negotiation was out of the question and Yusuke was to either return to house arrest or be declared an enemy of the state, along with everyone who followed him.

Gas Station, Edge of Coriler Prefecture

"How'd it go?" asked the aid, as the king left the cashier, hands full of cheap snacks and ice cream.

"Fine, fine. As planned, the man's giving us free gas." smirked the king. "Are the decoys ready?"

"Yes, sir. Two vacant limosuines are hidden in the manual car-wash. Even with those Zukariaans' space station, I doubt they can figure out which one is which. If you would step this way, sir." he said, opening the door to the limosuine.

As soon as the king sat down and began munching a popsicle, the limo drove into one of the washing spots in the car-wash, which had a concrete roof thick enough to block any infrared emissions. They had carefully chosen this specific gas station, because of the way the wash was set up - they could drive around easily to ensure the Zukariaans didn't simply watch the spot that the king's limo had droven into while staying under the roof. Quickly, everyone split into three even groups of six. Three from each group went into a seperate limo, and the other half went into a Rhino. One person left over entered the Nakil.

With a quick scramble, they rearranged it so that Wash #1, where the king had driven into, now was occupied by a decoy, while the king was actually in Wash #2. At the last minute, they removed the license plates on their vehicles.

"Ready?" enquired the aid over the radio.

"Go!" cried the King triumphantly, and three limosuines zoomed out of the car wash, taking seperate routes. Several minutes later, the Nakil left by itself, taking a fourth route. All four groups were heading towards different destinations before reaching Shansek, if they could - loyal military bases, towns, and even farmers.

President's Cabinet Room

The president smiled at Conrad's decleration. "Space bombardment, eh...well, not like they have any bombers in range, so it makes perfect sense, eh? General, status update on Yusuke, please."

"A few minutes ago, he stopped at a gas station. They refilled, entered the carwash, and left with several decoys. We are unable to identify which one is Yusuke. They all have the same amount of people in them, except for a leftover Nakil - it is occuped by a single person, as far as our satellite's infrared can tell. They are currently heading in different directions."

"And local police - right, there aren't police in the area, are there?"

"The area they are currently in is farmland. We can call in local police from other towns, but the closest one is about two hours away - though one of the vehicle groups are heading towards that very town."

"Very well, send police to intercept that group. As for the other three, stop them as well. Are any heading specifically for Shansek?"

"The Nakil, sir."

"That sounds just like Yusuke. Let him arrive at Shansek. Like he can do anything. Chief Advisor, how about Shansek itself?"

"A large group of youth are marching down Sukuji Crossing towards the Fumika Ward at the edge of the city. Fumika faces Coriler, so they are presumably attempting to welcome Yusuke. It has not become violent yet, but they have not registered their protest with the Protest Board, so there are no riot police at hand. The mayor is preparing to send in riot police."

"Leave it at that. Also, I'd like to speak with Conrad. Chief Advisor, link me with Liccitus."

With the press of a few buttons, the face of Liccitus, Zukariaan Minister to Shansekia, appeared on screen in front of the conference table.

"Tell Conrad I'd like to speak to him."

Fumika Ward
The soldiers spoke among one another nonchalantly. Yusuke was hours away, and there was no sign of trouble as of yet. Four-Star General Ishika laughed quietly as he reviewed his map. The detachment the president had ordered to defend Shansek was exceedingly large - even several Nakils were parked nearby, and there were several platoons as well.

"Sir," said a lieutenant, running up without bothering to salute, "the Mayor reports there's a march approaching here. They're sending in riot police, but he's requesting we hold them back for now."

"Oh, great. Dismissed, lieutenant." They quickly flashed a salute, and the lieutenant dashed away.
