Entagling alliances will fall, but commerce with forever stand ~ Fujiwa Niko
追放された王国, こらーへ (The Kingdom Which is Banished, Coriler)
The King laughed merrily. "And then, he-"
"Sir, the crowd is waiting." said a frightened aid, doing his best to walk through the room without tripping.
"Seriuosly?" questioned King Yusuke IV, standing up from the council table. "Very well. Council?" The council quickly silenced itself. Rising up, they swept out of the conference room, tailed by bodyguards.
King Yusuke IV smirked wryly as the council stopped behind the curtain leading to the stage. This was, technically, his first speech as king - the speeches during the election were a mere candidate's. From what he could see, a million cheering Shansekians were standing outside, and millions more were watching from television as the king finally left exile.
"Ready, sir?" asked the still-nervous aid.
"Yes." he proclaimed, taking a sip of champagne. It begins... With a might stride, he walked onto stage to the cheering of a crowd that stretched for many city blocks.
"System check." he muttered over his ear piece, even as he waved to the crowd and walked to the podium.
"Interface complete. We've managed to penetrate the government firewalls. Coriler's entire PA system is now ours."
"Very well, link the microphone...now." he said quietly as he reached the podium.
"My people!" he shouted. His words reverberated across the city, thanks to the PA system. Wild cheers and screams erupted from the crowd as the swarmed to approach the king, only held back by the police barrier.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Sir, I didn't know the government gave the king permission to access the PA system..." radioed a private as he held back the crowd.
"I doubt they actually did," muttered the chief.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It's been a long time since the monarchy was able to speak to its people, hasn't it?" he asked happily to the still cheering crowd. "Before the federation rose...what a time! When the past generation, your parents, overthrew my family and replaced it essentially with the same thing." The king pounced upon the vast youth in the crowd. "Of course, they have long since changed their minds - and you have long since chosen. The youth is not ignorant! They know why the monarchy must be reestablished! Fukada and any of ICED's nominees will lead this country to disaster!"
"While I do commend Fukada's choice of neutrality, the only reason he did it was because you, the people, made him! He failed to follow through his campaign promises, and only did it to keep himself in office! What kind of state leader cannot serve his people at his own initiative?" A burst of cheers cut through the crowd.
"There's only one thing to do, my people! We must march to Shansek, storm the government center, and take back what is ours! What do you say?" A finally flurry of jubilant screaming rang through the air, and the crowd finally broke through the barrier.
"Lulz," muttered the king over the ear piece. "Plan B."
Suddenly, the PA system started spouting out "Never Gonna Give You Up (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7kE1Vte2iM)" across the city. Laughter rang through the crowd, mingled with boos, as the king made his dashing escape on a limousine hidden behind the house. The king smirked as he, along with his council, shredded their 16-year-old house arrest orders and threw them out the window as they drove towards Shansek. Tailing behind them was a contingent of loyal military men, in three Doomingslad MAD-U Rhinos and one Nakil 1A3HA, stolen from the Shanseki Army.
Shansekian House of Parliament, Internal Forum, Late June Session
As always, the Forum was in a heated debate. Today, it was whether "donations" required from large corporations should be increased or not. MP's shouted at one another rampantly, and the president could barely contain them. That's when the monitors on the desks flashed with the face of an aid.
"H-honorable S-sirs," stuttered the aid, "Y-yusuke's on the m-move." The suddenly silenced forum was suddenly filled with shouts, cheers, swearing, and whispers, as well as glares to the Royalist half of Parliament.
"Quiet down, guys," spoke the president over the intercom. As soon as it calmed down, he said, "Aid, continue."
The newly reassured aid continued with more confidence. "During the rally, they somehow managed to hack into the government systems and hoist control of Coriler's PA system. We're lucky that they've either been unable to break into the other government systems, or just aren't bothering to. Anyway, they've managed to escape with several military officials, in three stolen Rhino's and a Nakil 1A3HA, and are heading towards Shansek."
"Does Yusuke and his council really think he can get through the Shanseki army with such meager forces?"
"That's the thing, sir. To dare to do such a thing...they must have support in the top echelons of the military, as well among civilians." Gasps quickly swept through the crowd. "We probably won't find out who, though, unless we issue a general order against Yusuke and gauge the reaction from both the military and the citizens."
"But that's almost like poking a bear with a stick." said Fukada.
"Do we have a choice?" mentioned an MP, and others murmured in agreement.
"Very well. Then, by the power vested in me by the people of Shansekia, I hereby suspend 'Bill #9512' until further notice. I also hereby dismiss the parliamentary session until further notice."
MP's flowed out of the room, as the president clicked a button to activate the computer's teleconference system. With a flash, the faces of the Cabinet appeared on screen, with questioning faces.
"Let's be brief. Yusuke and his men are approaching Shansek with three Rhino's and one Nakil," he said, dragging icons of the vehicles and the numbers 3 and 1 to the "Fridge Magnets" section of the conference on the touch screen. "I'm sure none of you are involved in this or support Yusuke, correct?"
Abruptly, the face of the Admiral of the Fleet suddenly dissappeared and was replaced with static. "Well, that's one person we know is on his side, Pres."
"It could just be a connection problem, but the Navy, theirs? Crap, they may already have nearly half our military funding!" Fukada sighed. "Not like the navy can help Yusuke from the sea, anyway..." A small ping rang from the computer as it calculated the route Yusuke was most likely taking. The words, "ETA AT SHANSEK ELEVEN HOURS" popped up on every Cabinet member's computer.
"We don't have much time. Send an alert to SPEN for their six o'clock line up." With a flick of the wrist, he dismissed everyone but the head general.
"Tell all local army units within seven hours of Shansek to get here ASAP and establish a semicircle facing Coriler. I want him dead, now."
"Yes, Fukada." The general paused for a moment. "I seem to be having trouble communicating with the Air Force's Chief of Staff."
"Dammit all!"
