Missing Craft, Owner Wanted! (FT, Open)

"Quite an unusual craft... never seen architecture quite like this before." she said running her hands up and down the side of a hallway, as she walked down, admiring a support beam.

"The question is what to do with it..." a swarthy man joined in step with her as she continued down the hall, she didn't look at him nor broke her stride.

"What's the logs say?" she asked, emotionlessly...

"That's the weird thing, nothing, it was totally wiped, there is no data on board at all, no specs, no label, no name, no staff rosters. There are no visible markings, we've bombarded it with numerous types of radiation from the EM Spectrum,... nothing... there's no paper... there are some communicators, some datapads but nothing on them."

"So have we hacked into the system?"

"No, every time they seem to have a break through, they come across a new barrier, I think there is some sort of remanant AI... but we can't find it."

"Well obviously, the basic systems are running, life support including Gravometric operations, so there's got to be something controlling it. Perhaps a deep back-up system that doesn't reveal itself because, well we haven't authenticated ourselves."

"So what you think we should do..."

"Well, the systems too degraded, there's nothing that we can get here, we don't need another ship for ourselves, and handing it up the chain isn't going to get us anything for our trouble."

"So what, we're just going to junk it and sell it for scrap?"

She just scoffed, "I've got something better, in mind."

~~~ A Couple of Weeks Later ~~~
"Deep in the Heart of Space, a ship floats orbiting an Orange star, a ship that was once home to over 350 individuals, just their waiting... but who's is it, that's what we tend to find out. If you think you, your organisation or your goverment department owns this beautiful vessel then please contact us. And join us for our ground breaking new reality show, 'Will the real owner please stand up?'"
That with accompanying visuals showing the outside of the ship. At an estimated 430m it wasn't small but it wasn't large either. The only question was, would the real owner turn up? but really that wasn't the question, would someone be-able to fool the system as it currently stood that they were the owner? Well, let's just see.
<Greywatch will send some engineers and tech experts in to check it out. We here in the council doubt its ours as we haven't lost any ships of late but we may as well send a few people. Expect them soon.>
<Com>This is Admiral Armstrong of the Blasfisian First Colony fleet. Do not under any circumstances attempt to hack that AI! We believe you've come across a relic from an early experiment by our great nation.
We're sending a ship to verify.
Once again, do not attempt to tamper with that AI! It's a proven killer! If its dormant, leave it that way!
Captain Malcolm will be with you shortly in the Intrepid.</Com>
OOC: okay...
I just like to say that, you can basically say it's yours but it may not actually be. I will be posting everything related to the ship, I will be controlling what it does what you find, how well your guys do. Who's ever it is it will be most certainly changed from your own records so no one is going to be getting everything 100% right. If you have an idea I'd love to hear it and I may incorporate it. But the only thing you will control directly are your guys. If you want to go into detail about the ship about something that I haven't already posted then please get in contact with me.
As for starting I'll give it another few days, to see if Blasphemous Fish returns or if someone else joins.
"We've got three Claimants" she smiled.
"Is that enough?"
"Oh Most certainly, I'd like another one but that at the moment is wishful thinking."
"Hmmmm the Blasfisian First Colony Fleet are sending a number of ships..."
"Hah good luck, we haven't told them where it was and good thing too, or else they might take it by force."
"So how are we going to do it, you still haven't explained it properly to me yet."
"It's simple a competition, the group that knows the most about the ship , both theoretically and practically gets it, and we get money from the Reality TV Show."
"But... will they agree?"
"They'll either sign the legal documents and waivers and agree to play by the rules or they won't. If they don't we won't take their team to the ship. It's simple."
"So that's why we've got camera's planted throughout the ship?"
"Exactly."
"Well, you better tell these blaspheming fish, they seem to have it round the wrong way."
She just noded, he was right.
She typed up a letter explaining the situation that as the only fair way to choose the owner of the ship that there is going to be a competition to do so and to re-imburse our expenses that it's going to be televised as a reality TV show. And that only a small team will be taken to the ship from each group for security of the location of the ship. You don't want the ship stolen out from under you now do you?
The letter was sent of to all those that had shown interest and now the only way to actually progress was to get the appropriate legal paperwork signed.
OOC: You can continue but you would have to have signed all legal paperwork, if you do continue it will be assumed that you have done so, from an IC standpoint.
Twi Greywatch ships came out of PSR travle to the location where they'd heard of the ship being found. There were two frigates, on board one of them was the team that would help figure out whether or not the ship was indeed a Greywatch ship or not. A transmission was put through:
<Greywatch investigation team. We're here to see the ship, please advise landing and any other protocols.>
"Welcome, The investigation team is to come aboard and then will be transported to the site of the competition. You are welcome to come but if we detect any Inter-stellar communication of any sort, until the competition has been completed you will forfeit your place in this competition. The official investigation team are the only ones allowed on board, including AIs, but you can transport them out at any apropriate time. Please have all the legal documentation ready, as we won't be able to proceed without it. Thank you."
"Competition? Are you shitting me?" Said an engineer to one of the officers. The man nodded, "That's what they said Alexia, I'm sorry...." The woman looked up, "WHatever kinda bullshit this is..." A few other people were getting ready. Among them being two mechs, two Drones, and some other engineers and technicians with two soldiers as backup, just in case something got a little frisky. They were almost ready, all they had to do was pack up a little more of their stuff, make sure documents were in order,a nd move out.
A Small Kewen Frigate appeared in the designated space in which to arrive, sighting the Greywatch ship nearby on scanners.
"We are the kewen, we are here" A short transmission was sent.
meanwhile in a hanger bay somewhere 10 Technicians and two guards loaded into the transport and prepared to launch having signed the flimys waviers and uscheailer.
The Greywatch team was ready. Four human technicians, two Kiixori technicians, three Xarniosi mechanics, Two Leanorian Combat Monks, two Droid engineers, one Dragon-kin Honor Guard, four multipurpose Drones, and a single Elden overseer. Nineteen peopel in all, a good amount for an unknown ship. They were all loaded onto their transport and they headed off to the docking area.
The Kewen and Greywatch teams were welcomed onboard the ship, after having double checked that all the documentation was in order. It was time to take them to the ship that these two teams would be competing for.
The head of each team would be handed data chips, containing the cordinates for the system, it was stored in a type of memory that required the data to be erased to actually read the original data contained. As such it was a single use chip.
The teams where asked to go ahead first to their destination, ships would be there to inform and direct them from there.
