The Hunt - OOC and Sign Up

--Borlak was the old kingdom of the Krags, founded when the Deathless Horde was destroyed, and Lord Death-on-a-Horse sent scrambling over the Northern Wastes seeking his head--Gemilla looked about, then made a signal over her heart with her right hand.--Old Krag only bore males, and ended up adopting an heir-a common, if dangerous, practice. Many a clan has adopted a female only to have her go into the God Plane and make their clan subordinate to hers by "proving" she was a clan founder all along, legitimizing her claim and advancing her family at the expense of the adopting clan.
--In Krag's case, it was the Lady Tomazusa who was adopted, and administered the lands of Borlak. She seemed a powerful and wise ruler, but fell prey to the Krag curse-her Firstborn was a male, whom she disguised as a Daughter and named Modo.
--Tomasuza winnowed through her land, seeking the most beautiful of women and bringing them to the Castle. There, she subjected them to alchemical practices, now forbidden, and made them toxic. She schooled them in grace and beauty, and adorned them as butterflies, then sent them out as emissaries to poison her rivals and enemies. There were humans, dwarfs, and elves in those days, so her plan had success there-trolls are immune to poison unless it's based in light or fire. She staffed her castle with these venomous beauties, who were the Daughters of Borlak-exemplars of grace and beauty, with Death in their breath and skin. When Borlak was destroyed, the Daughters supposedly survived, and still roam the region in their finery. They are elegantly dressed and intensely beautiful, and their very presence is death—

--She was powerful, and the Krags followed her blindly. When she became pregnant again, they sealed her up in the tall tower and tossed her tons of meat. Krags still do this, not trusting their women to survive the Madness that overtakes us in pregnancy and the wilderness. While she was incapacitated, the aldryami of the Redwood Forest attacked-they were servants of the Empire of Unity, and while Unity forces assaulted southern Borlak, the aldryami crept out of the East Woods and torched the Castle.
--The story told is that the Lady Tomasuza walked out onto the parapet, her son by her side, her newborn in her arms, and saw Borlak Castle in flames. Her rage knew no bounds, and she spoke a Dread Curse-against Rufelza for drawing Borlak forces off, against the aldryami for burning her and her son, and even against the trolls for not defending her. She vowed vengeance before the fire cleansed the world of her foulness, taking her and her spawn.
--The Krags still hold a memorial for her and her son on the anniversary of the burning of Borlak, and the ruins of her castle still stand high over the land there. They say that when the moon is new and all the stars have gone to bed, the old castle rears high into the night, and the vengeful spirits of Tomasuza and Modo howl from the parapets--Gemilla held up some leather swatches.--It is a sad story, from a sad time-Borlak did not deserve it's fate, though Tomasuza certainly did-her name is synonymous with forbidden lore and depravity.—

Her voice was a whisper on the night wind, laden with the Logos, the core concepts, intrinsic Reality, as it stretched forth... Power and Command, Adamantine will backing it, a wellspring of implacable power.

"Potent indeed was her curse, and potent indeed was her power, and it has not gone, has not returned to the ALL. Lurking patiently, unseen, unsensed... waiting for but the plum to ripen."

"Warrior Maid, Mother, Crone and She Who Is Unseen, all hold sway in their Rightful Time, forming the Wheel of Birth, Growth, Wisdom and Transformation. Each giving way in Turn as is meet, and thus Balance is preserved."

"Abomination she was, Abomination she remains, but I say this ...the Moon turns her face from that One, and ever shall the moon's light reveal her hand, her workings, and her creatures for the perversions they are. When the moon's light lays upon the land she will find no succor, no safe haven."

So Mote It Be

Slowly Indigo's hands came up, but the tiniest space apart, interweaving but not touching in series of elegant flowing moments- as with the dance of fingers continued ... power formed, grew, and became manifest, a glowing sphere of moonlight condensing into potent sorcery.

Then as her forefingers touched the orb flashed outward, ringing through Reality as Indigo declared that One, and all her works, Enemy. One against whom she would ever stand in opposition. Implacable, Unyielding, a war that would have no end until one or the other was obliterated. Time and Realm being no boundary.

And on the High Planes of Heaven itself the vast bronze Jinja no Dou Suzu, the first creation of the OmiKami and voice of the Gods, pealed with a harmonic that resonated though the All There Was.

The Will and the Word....

And so began an enmity that spans the stars. And now we may see the first chapter of its ending…

Lady Tomazusa has sent her assassin to remove the Empress Indigo Noor from the face of the Universe. But she had not reckoned with the interference of others, and Indigo still lives, and the Hunt is on….

The Queen in Yellow…

Yeah I know she probably doesn’t wear yellow, and technically it is theKing in Yellow but, this will stand as notice that we are hunting Chaos, and it will hunt us in turn. None faint hearted or unskilled should apply.

There really are only a limited number of openings as many of the parts to be played have already been taken… Please TG me with any questions or post them here.

This is set in Future Tech, and the Force, Psionics, Majik and the Gods will all make their appearances here in.
Me - of course I have a hound in this hunt, and I’m the GM ( but thank the goddess that OD is helping me!

Ordo Drakul - player of many parts

Xiscapia- your young pair is welcome

Alversia - Chaos just loves ones they’ve managed to turn…

The Garbage Men – not certain yet

And possibly one or two others.

I am going to require that any who wish to join be able to spell and use decent grammar, be willing to commit to post at least a decent paragraph per post – no one line hack offs- ; and post regularly. It’s not fair to the other players to join a game and drop out without warning or post just once a week.

To get some idea about this expansion on a theme you might want to at least skim:

Among the Muri ( http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=540883) – Muri perspective on things

Stroming Heaven (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=543566) – the last ten pages take a good look at Chaos ( and yes this is Chaos as Lovecraft and his fellows spoke of it, but you can also consult with Ordo Drakul – as been noted many times, he knows his Chaos...

An Invitation to Celebrate with Us ( http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=556922) – from about post 140 on, especially those by Ordo Drakul and Nova Nippon

North Calaveras - I 'm going to have to say no - I can't think of any reason that any of the three primarily involved nations( the Novans, the Muri, or the Tanarans) would ask your nation to become involved. Particularly with your nations recent activities involving two nations ours have become friends and allies with - Xiscapia and Alversia - you recently ended a war with them and have openly committed what I would consider war crimes against those nations.

Quite seriously some of their characters might be highly inclined to eat any of your nation that showed up, and I don't know if my characters would be inclined to stop them or assist them.

Understood, Tanara. I'll be lurking around here until the appropriate time, and I will of course TG you and/or OD just before my chars make their entrance. But until then, cheers, and I'll be watching.

There's this thing you're thinking of, NC, it's called "Forgive and Forget". The problem is that it doesn't quite work that way. Yeah, treaties are nice, but if you've committed genocidal atrocities against someone, they're not going to forget. And their friends won't forget either. That'd kinda be like Hitler setting the Jews free after the Holocaust and saying, "Oh, we can be friends now, I'm not going to kill you any more." Do you think that would have worked out well? If so, you've got a rather rudimentary understanding of cause and effect, action and consequence.

Main point is, the lady said no. Also, Tanara, tg coming your way.

NC, I believe I was the last to post in Wander, and I haven't been a part of Xenocide since the plans did their major change.
My two characters coming in a bit.

Still waiting to hear back from TGM.

I'm here, I'm just exchanging TG's with OD about plans.... Bwhahahah. *ahem*

Sorry about that... I'll probably have a small team, with Magick, Psionic and force things as well as a number of other more traditional types

and I think that means that OD is bringing Morga - gotta love the Dark Knight of the Muri ( and you know thats just plain freaking over kill) I love watching him work. A true master

Actually, I'm debating that-Morga has his plate full shepherding muri interests in Xiscapia, and Gerrak is going to take this all personally, so he may go. It all depends on Xis, really, since Morga is supposed to protect the stability of the Xiscapian government, and that means protecting the Roses.
I'll decide as the thread develops... RL is rearing it's ugly head, so I don't have time to plot properly

I want to consider this one but seeing as I actually have work mon-fri I have this odd feeling that I'd be left behind really quickly. That aside, 'cause hell, even I cheat at times and get on at lunch, what exactly do you want here? Just so I can get the most basic idea of what would be required of me.

Friggin' Jolt-I was going to TG you, Greywatch, but can't access your page as yet. Basically, this will be an exploration of realms left ignored by most of NS-the worlds of espionage and crime, particularly smuggling. The Lady Tomasuza is a Bond villain, a single handed taker-on of Democracy and Peace, who's been exiled from her homeworld-sadly, one of the most advanced cultures in Known Space.
She has secreted herself in a web of intrigue and double-dealing, all to gain vengeance on those who have wronged her in her mind. Fortunately, this powerhouse of Evil has erred due to her appetite for revenge, and struck blatantly, leaving a trail to be followed. A coalition of spies will track her now through those shadowy realms in which she lurks, hopefully bringing her to justice, or at least ending her threat.
Expect a romp through the darker side of everyone's civilization as Tomasuza has set herself against all that is, and hopes to wipe it all out through vicious games of "Let's you and him fight" and designer disasters to weaken her foes enough for a cat's-paw to be motivated to strike.
Our only strong point is that the technology upon which she operates is far too advanced to be retro-engineered, and she has to fall back on memory and what is available on the worlds she's intriguing on.

Ah. Jesus... this is thought out and then some....
Ordo Drakul
26-06-2008, 02:03
Actually, it's just bare-bones fleshed out-I like to leave myself a lot of wiggle room for when things don't go exactly as planned-proper major villains deserve the same options as players, including flexibility of next action...
Tanara
26-06-2008, 02:08
OD is excellent with this sort of thing - me? I'm just his facilitator, event coordinator as it were...and foremost fangirl...

but seriously OD, if it's Gerrak, I am so going to make him use a Bolongo - this rp is going to require clarity of speach, and some times his affected accent to too hard to understand....

and besides is he going to be willing to leave his weak and stricken wife? He does and she may well put him in the dog house, and besides he isn't even 20 yet - he may be good but he's not that experienced yet.

And in reply to Alversia, re your tg- as NS has gone absolutely weirdling..

Falls over laughing.. my dear, go smoothly? nothing, but absolutely nothing ever goes smoothly - Mr. Murphy alone would see to that ...

If we're gonna be doing a hunt, then I'm using my custom-made, esclusive supersoldiers which, to my knowledge, only Xis, Al, and NC would know of them. Well their the only ones in this thread that would know of them. I'll bring up details later.
Tanara
26-06-2008, 15:15
The Hunting Party is limited in number - this is not a military action

I'm bringing two, Xis is bringing two, OD is bringing one at this point, and there are perhaps two others out there being discussed

The not so loyal opposition -

I & OD will be playing myriads of bad guys obvioously

Alversia is playing one of the opposition

I don't know wether TGM's trio are bad guys or good guys...

Good guys, they will be sent at my CEO's specific order to track her down.

26-06-2008, 15:29
Yes, I figured that, maximum team size for Drones is five, I'll prolly only bring three though. If that's okay, and I'll be one of the 'good guys'

I'll be plotting various operations to uncover shortly, and will TG you as they pertain to your nations-if anyone has any ideas for what horrors they'd like to befall, feel free to TG me.
