OOC: this RP is to talk about the Animals of My Nation, The Ryou Black Islands. If you think Australia had odd Wild Life, you will think again.

IC: The Ryou Black Islands, a well known Nation. In the Xanadou Sea, the Islands look like Green Gems, the Largest, Tanshisyui Island, is the Size of Borneo.

You may think that the Islands are nothing but a war like nation that is ruled by The Ryouese. But there is a wild side to these Islands. While Australia has odd wild life, The Ryouese Animals are something from a Lost world.

Walking Manatees, Giant Meat-eating rats, Killer Macaws, Giant Bats that walk and eat fruit, Condors that act like Peacocks and Sea Scorpions.

This is The Wilds of The Ryou Black Islands.

The Island of Kalmalor is a Large Island, about 50,000 km in size, It is a Large Island that is totaly covered in Trees, and it half way under water. Seawater swamps and Rain Forest are the main landscapes on Kalmalor.

Here rules the top predator of the island, The Large Hound Rat, a Killer in it's own right. The side of a Great Dane, The Hound Rat is the largest Rat on Earth. It's Sharp teeth are made to bite into flesh and bone, since it is a Meat-eater.

In The Seawater swamps, The Hound Rat's main prey lives. The Salamander Dugong, a type of Manatee, lives here. Unlike mainy of it's kind, this Manatee comes out of the water. It has for small Legs, like a Salamander's legs. The way it walks is like a Bulldog, so it's other name is The "Bulldog Matatee".

Salamander Dugongs walk on to land to feed on tall reeds. in the water, they eat many Water plants.

It is on land where they are weak. Since they Move slower on land, they tend to stay near the water. As mothers and their calfs feed, they are watched by Predators, like the packs of Hound Rats, who are built like wolves, to take down fast prey, or to surprise Salamander Dugongs.

One pack is closeing in on a Mother and her Calf, feeding far from the herd. But something else is watching. The Mother doesn't see the killer till it is too late.

As the Hound rats start to move, the Killer Swoops down and Grabs it Calf. It's Beak bites though the thick skin and kills the calf.

the Herd runs as the killer eats it's Catch. The killer is the National Bird of The Ryou Black Islands.

The Crimson Blood Macaw.

The size of a Condor, this killer bird has taken the place of Eagles and other Giant birds of prey on these islands. They are also known to hunt humans.

and where their is one Macaw, a Whole Flock is with it.

The Hound Rats know this as they soon start running. While they are the Top Predators on the Ryou Black Islands, the Crimson Blood Macaws are the Top SuperPredator on the Islands. and Hound Rat is just more prey.

In the Seawater Swamps, another animal lives in the water. The Sheep Eel lives in Seawater Swamps, eating water plants and coral. These eels can go to rivers and land or even into the open seas.

another odd Animal is the Croco Whale (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/45/Limnoscelis21DB.jpg), a Throw back to early cetaceans like Ambulocetus and Rodhocetus balochistanensis . Croco Whales are Ambush predators, like the Giant Saltwater Crocs it shares these waters with. While most Croco Whales grow to the size of sheep, some have been found that are over 23 feet!

while most of Xanadou has no sharks, The Ryou Black Islands has them. In The Seawater Swamps, the Dwarf Hammerhead prows. It is 2 feet one and hunts mainly Sheep Eels and small mammals that fall into the water, it even eats fruit that falls from Trees near the water.

Ryouese Saltwater Crocodiles are Monsters, growing up to 40 feet, some to over 50 Feet! These hunt Salamander Dugongs, Croco Whales, Dwarf Hammerhead, Threasher Sharks, even Orcas in the open seas. They are deadly man killers and can even attack large boats.

Monster Hunter, a popular TV show in Kahanistan

A bearded Arabian man of about 40 dressed in safari clothes speaks in an obvious Middle Eastern accent, very enthusiastically. He has the skin of a weird animal draped across his shoulders, nearly covering his 20-kg camo-print backpack, and carries an FN FAL rifle in one hand.

"Salam, viewers," says the man. "I am Mustafa Abdul Rahim Zaqi, host of Monster Hunter. Today, we venture into the wilds of Hata - er, Ryou... damn Frisbeeterian bastards censoring my show." He proceeds to mutter a few obscenities in Arabic before continuing with his speech, something about not being a Frisbeeterian station.

"This is the island of Kalmador. Home to crimson blood macaws, hound rats, salamander dugongs, and dwarf hammerhead sharks. Today, we observe the crimson blood macaw, the national animal of Hat - " He sighs deeply. "Ryou. Now, the crimson blood macaw is their national animal, so it's going to be very unwise to shoot one. However, if a hound rat charges at me... this baby will take it down." Mustafa holds his rifle. "7.62 x 51 mm. Favoured weapon of the insurgency against the Doomani. Cracks through body armour like it was butter. It has enough firepower to kill grizzly bears in one shot, or whole packs of charging hound rats."

Mustafa climbs a tree and sets up a telescope on a tripod at a precariously high branch. "Now, we observe the crimson blood macaw in its natural habitat, the only habitat such a noble and majestic animal should ever have to live in."

A particularly large specimen of crimson blood macaw swoops down on a nearby farm, grabbing a fat sheep from its pen. The sheepdog barks and snarls viciously, baring its teeth at the intruder, but to no avail. Sheepdogs can't pursue a bird in the air.

"The sheep's neck is broken by the force of the beak cracking around its neck," says Mustafa. "It dies instantly. The bird now has about a hundred and fifty kilograms of fresh meat - enough to last it and its nest for nearly a week."

"Now, I will attempt to locate the nest of a crimson blood macaw, to see the young raised to be the powerful, predatory animals that have culled the local wildlife for millenia." He watches the bird with his telescope on the highest zoom magnification until it lands, then zooms out.

"Aha! The bird is about six kilometres away, up that rare specimen of... Ryouan ficus tree. I'm going to show you its young. Now, there are few things more dangerous than a mother protecting her young. So, I'm going to update my will here..." The hunter makes a few keystrokes on a data pad. "And off we go, to see the infant crimson blood macaws." He walks on a path at a brisk pace toward the nest.

While The Seawater Swamps may have odd animals, Deeper inland in the forests, some animals you will know, Small Rainforest Deer, only one foot high, eat the leaves of the Poison Fern, which is like Poison Ivy, Touching it will give a person a rash.

but The Rainforest Deer is unefected by it. But eating it is still deadly, since Predators are in the forest. Not just The Hound Rats or Crimson Blood Macaws, But Monkeys

Ryouese 'Apes' are not apes, but Giant Macaque around 4 ft 2 in or 127 centimetres in size and weigh around 100 lbs or 45 kg. Large Fangs for killing Large animals to eat or for defense against Predators.

Meat isn't the only thing it eats. It also stays near the Poison Ferns for it's Fruit.

The Poison Fern is not a True Fern, but a type of Palm tree that can grow to 10 feet tall. The Stawberry like Fruit is eaten by The Ryouese Macaques along with meat and other friuts.

One animal that is not originaly from The Islands are cats. They Came from a Ship that was carrying them to near by Kurona, which was wrecked on the Islands. The Cats found the Islands idea for them since it had Norway Rats, also from wrecked ships, on them.

and The cats have learned to hunt and live in Groups, since these are Islands where Rats eat cats, so to Birds, Apes and also......Other cats.

the 'cats' that attack the cats are Cat Kangaroos, Killer Meat-eating Marsupial that is not a true cat, nor a true kangaroo, It is of the family Thylacoleonidae, The only living member. Hunting Small birds and rats, even The Cats, these animals hunt in the trees or on the ground.

in The air, two Birds of Prey rule. The Falcon Parrot is a smaller cosin to the Crimson Blood Macaw. The size of a Falcon, it is small and deadly. Larger then it is The Deerkiller Condor, With a wingspan of 173–183 cm (68–72 in) and an average weight of 1.4 kg (3.1 lb), it is a large bird. Hunting Rainforest Deer, the Deerkiller Condor is a Predator of not only Rainforest Deer, but also of the Cat Kangaroo.

Leaveing this Island, or Next area of the wilds will be The Seas. In our Next Post, we will see the animals of the Ryouese Sea and The Xanadou Ocean.

The Waters around The Ryou Black Islands are well known to be deadly. Ryouese sailors know that The Ryouese Sea is full of Coral Reefs, Sandbars, Deep Trenches and killer animals. Giving the Ryouese Sea it's Nickname; The Blood Sea.

Here, Thresher Sharks live, they are the top sharks in the Ryouese Sea, living and hunting. They come from The near-by Pacific Ocean. The long Tail fins of The Thresher Shark is what gives it its name.

But they are also hunted.

a Pod of Orcas or better known as Killer Whales, hunt in these waters. These beasts are the largest of all the Dolphins and deadly hunters. Some have been used by Ryouese Whalers to help hunt large whales in the ocean.

This Pod is on the hunt. But what it is after is on the beach.

Ryouese Fur Seals are on the Beach of Taishi Island. These Seals are giving birth to Pups. It is this time of year that the seals have to watch out. The Orca Pod is off shore, preparing to attack.

But something else is watching.

a 10 Month old Pup is in the water. unknown that a Orca is charging for it. It's Mother is soon trying to get it back up on the beach, far from The jaws of The Orcas. But the Mother is soon targeted her self...

As She enters the water, five shapes attack her at once. Grey animals hit her, biting her and ripping into her flesh.

Sea Wolves, Cousins to Sea Lions, only mush bigger and deadlier, they hunt other seals and sea lions. their main weapons are two 7 inch Saber teeth, good for getting though blubber. One bite kills the mother seal.

The Seal Pup is soon running from two more Killers, Orcas. The Orcas know that with its mother gone, the pup is easy prey. But The Pup is close to the Coral reefs, which is more deadly then the Orcas, who soon back off.

The Pup never has a Chance as a Claw grabs it, snapping it's neck.

a Xanadou Sea Scorpion, a 8 foot long monster, a relic from a lost world. In the Paleozoic Era, Sea Scorpions ruled the oceans till The Permian, when most sea Scorpions died out, only these survived and live ad Top Hunters in The Ryouese Reefs.

In The Skies, Ocean Condors look for fish. These Condors have become sea-birds, hunting fish and even seal pups. Since the Crimson Blood Macaw rules the Rain Forests, The Condors have started tofill other niches on The Islands.

The Ryouese Sea is home to many animals, but one Animal is a very odd sight in the Islands.

Penguins.

The Chicken Penguin is a small Penguin that lives on Jai Island. It lives on Jai since it is good for raising their young. Chicks grow fast on a diet of Krill and fish. The Chicken Penguins stay on Jai all year round.

a few of them are fishing in the waters. They have to watch out, as Sea Scorpions hunt here, so do Orcas and Thresher Sharks.

On Jai it self, Mother Chicken Penguins watch out for another Predator.

Near by is a 4 foot long Jaian Monitor Lizard, a deadly killer of Chicken Penguins. the Monitor is after The Chicks and eggs, but it can also go after adult Chicken Penguins. the Monitor sneaks up near the Penguins. But The Parents soon attack in a Group. their Pointed beaks can go though the Monitor's Hide. But the attacker soon strikes. Snapping it's Jaws to ward off The Penguins. But the Penguins continue their Defense of their nests, Driving The Jai Monitor near the Beach.

Then The Penguins soon retreat. the Monitor is now in danger. From The Surf, a Orca attacks, killing The Monitor.

In The Coral Reefs, Dwarf Hammerheads breed. Laying Mermaid's Purses on the Coral, The Sharks know that The Coral will be good for hiding the egg sacks. but already, Predators are now looking for them.

a Sea Wolf has spotted the grouping of Dwarf Hammerheads and goes on The Attack. grabbing the small Sharks to eat. but it is not the only predator in the reef.

a Boa Eel has smelled the Mermaid Purses in the water and is now nearing them. Unlike the Snake it is named after, The Boa Eel uses venom to kill prey, But today, the Egg sacks are the targets for it. Grabbing a egg sack, it eats it whole. It also has to watch out for The Sea Wolf and other predators.

The Seas of The Ryou Black Islands are always beset by storms. tropical Storms hit almost all year and they can be violent.

But It is the Grasslands of The Island of Tanshisyui and The Forests near it's Coast that are more deadly. In our next Episode, we see where The Giants of The islands live, and meet the Largest Predator on the Islands; The Kali Bear.

OOC: You have got to be shitting me--you're making up a bunch of deadly animals so that our invasion is near impossible. Well fine; as I said to you earlier, hunger doesn't wave a flag. If you expect us to buy into the fact that there are massive killer animals, your guys are in just as much danger as ours.
