Along the East Congaree Borders with the GWO
The next three weeks of the universe's existence would appear to be your usual scene along the GWO-EC border. However, the few people who knew what was going on in the Spire would beg to differ. Slowly, the GWO had been massing troops at the border, shipping troops by the thousands from other parts of the world. Four Provinces were close to East Congaree, two of them bordering it. Uranium and Carbon bordered the nation.
At the end of the slow and barely noticeable massing of troops, the unthinkable imagined. The Federal Guardsmen manning the EC-GWO border stations suddenly opened fire on the East Congaree guards, clearing stations in mere minutes. Overall, only 23 Federal Guardsmen were killed at the border stations.
At that moment, artillery cannons and missile batteries opened up on East Congaree's border defenses. B2 Stealth Bombers took off, carrying Fuel-Air bombs to drop on heavily fortified areas on the border. Divine Tigers, HPACVs, lightly armored vehicles, and hordes of infantry began doing probe attacks on the border fortifications. The invasion force, which consisted of 800,000 troops, made sure to keep moving around to minimize the effect of the emminent artillery barrages. The GWO Atlantic Fleet was posted in International Waters outside of East Congaree, led by the Super Dreadnought, the FWS Heaven's Staircase.
Alexandria Heights Infantry Station (EC-owned Border Outpost)
The Infantry Station was an East Congaree outpost manned by 1,400 EC infantrymen, backed by a few machine guns and outdated T-54s. Two GWO Battalions, the 2nd "Eightballer" Mechanized Infantry Battalion and 7th "Neurosurgeon" Infantry Battalion, had recieved orders to attack it. A total of 1,150 men were in the detachment, backed by 20 Divine Tigers, helicopter air support, and their own lightly armored vehicles.
The infantrymen of the battalion were all put inside of APCs, IFVs, and LAAVs. The Divine Tigers formed up in front of the lighter vehicles. Then the entire force raced forward. When AHIS was in view, the Divine Tigers let loose their 120mm/125mm cannons, excluding the five Infantry Killer variants in the force. The lighter vehicles peppered in machine gun fire and smaller explosive shells while moving forward, using the Divine Tigers as shields.
((OOC: Me and EC planned the beginning. He gave me the stats of AHIS, I didn't make it up.))

In a sheltered part of the hours.outpost, Major Jackson Wallace, the head of the Alexandria Hights Infantry outpost, called for support from the nearby army border base in Arlington. From there, an entire division of infantrymen (14,000 troops), a dozen T-72s, and artillery support from several 16 inch batteries and a few 20 inch batteries would come forth to help defend Alexandria's military outpost. In addition, 40 Su-17 attack aircraft with rocket pods would come to seek out the devine tigers and fire their unguided weaponry at them. From there, they would flee back to base, in hope Federation aircraft wouldn't spot them. In addition to that, 35 MiG-21s, 40 MiG-17s, and 12 MiG-15s would search the skies, hoping to run into a B-2 bomber on random and shoot it down with their cannons (their plyons containing bombs and missiles were replaced with fuel tanks to extend flying time).
Meanwhile, the three T-54s in Alexandria Heights set their eyes one one Divine tiger and opened up their 100 mm primary armament on it, along with their 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm guns. The Devine tiger took fire, then turned around and blasted one of the T-54s to oblivion before the Divine tiger faced the same fate. Soon after, the other devine tigers easily took out the rest of the T-54s and the 80 infantrymen that backed up the T-54 fire to the tune of their Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifles. After this, all focus on the tanks was broken off as the outpost's limited artillery supply fired it's two 3-inch batteries and one 5-inch battery at the Grnad World Order infantry as it waited for support from Featherston-Arlington Heights Armed Forces station. Infantrymen peppered in the fire of their lee-enfields, while seven other infantrymen opened up their single-barrel 12.7 mm rifles on the infantry. The Grand World Order advance temporarily stopped with heavy casualties being taken, but then kept on up as two of the EC infantrymen manning the 12.7mm rifles were shot. Their positions were taken over, but by much less adequate gunners. The Federation advance continued, with 880 East Congaree infantrymen killed and the outpost's entire force of three T-54 tanks destroyed.
Meanwhile, to the East, heavy artillery opened up on the Maryland portion of the Delmarva peninsula as a divison of East Congaree infantrymen with the support of seven 3-inch artillery batteries and 20 T-54 and ten T-34 tanks advanced up into the Maryland stretch of the Peninsula, aiming to be on the Deleware border within a three to five days.

Alexandria Heights Infantry Station
"Shit, Golf's been blown to hell!" cried the driver of a Divine Tiger Infantry Killer. "Keep your Fat Girl moving, we've wiped out this doghouse's tank force!"
Unfortunately for three Infantrymen, a piece of shrapnel from the exploding Divine Tiger struck their APC, snapping one of their necks, sending one into shock, and severing the last one's spine. Six APC gunners were killed by Lee Enfield rifles, slinking back into their vehicles, only to be replaced by more infantrymen. The EC Artillery attack had destroyed two more Divine Tigers, five IFVs, and four APCs. The force continued, with the Divine Tigers still pounding the base with shells. When they reached the gates, the Infantry Killers moved to the front, their dual 5.7mm miniguns beginning to rotate as they crushed the charred remains of EC's T-54s. Their turrets turned towards the East Congaree soldiers before spraying seering pieces of metal towards the men. The APCs formed up behind the Infantry Killers, and the soldiers of the 2nd and 7th Army Battalions disembarked, either staying close to armored vehicles or darting around for sandbags, buildings, barriers, and anything else they could use to hide from the horde of .303 bullets flying at them. In less then a minute, 8 GWO soldiers were dead or critically wounded. The Lee Enfields may have been outdated, but that didn't mean they could pack a serious punch. The GWO infantrymen were armed with a wide array of weaponry, mainly the MI-8. Of course, they also had P-90s, ESA-4s, FSIAASs, and even a few EASRs and GR-1A2s. They responded to the EC troops with swarms of 5mm, 7.62mm, 12.7mm, and 5.7mm bullets. The standard Divine Tigers were behind the APCs, but their cannons still had firelines with EC troops in them. They fired 120mm and 125mm Anti-Personnel/Vehicle Flechette shells, which are essentially shotgun shells for tanks.
The attacking force had no clue of the coming reinforcements. However, other GWO units did. A sattelite had spotted the troops moving from Arlington, and the Strategic Command Staff of the invasion quickly scrambled 35 F-22s and 20 F-35s. More planes were prepared to take off, but the 55 fighters were essentially already in the air. Meanwhile, the B-2 bombers were reaching their targets, depending on which target they were hitting. Arlington was one of the bases selected for destruction, and the B-2 bomber assigned to it was in the middle of dropping the Fuel-Air bomb when bullets ripped through its left wing, stripping it of the ability to avoid radar. The B-2 released its Fuel-Air bomb before it began diving towards the ground. The crew ejected from the plane, which had been pointed towards GWO territory. They hoped that they would land close to or in their homeland.
Delmarva
The peninsula was under GWO control, but it was sparsely populated. The City of Uranium, the only city in the province, was about 70 miles North and covered the entire area of New England, stretching a bit beyond that. Delmarva had a few Resorts, which had mainly been evacuated beforehand. The main military installation was Federation Regional Management Facility Delmarva, which was guarded by a mere force of 7,000 troops. A total of 30 Divine Tigers were there, mainly Accuracy and Tank Killer forms, but there were Divine Tigers of all breeds, including the rare DT-XM variant. A single 450mm cannon stood there, along with five "little" artillery cannons with 105mm shells. The troops had mortars, too. When the shells started hitting, the artillery crews quickly began calculating the location of the attacking cannons and returning fire. The soldiers began retreating into their bunkers, which had also been built to shelter Divine Tigers. The base looked bare as the shells rained down. The bunkers at the front of the base were still manned, however, as they were generally resistant to standard artillery. When the tanks advanced on the base, the safety of the gate bunkers was virtually eliminated as the co-axial machine guns tore up 43 GWO soldiers. Quickly, the GWO troops began returning fire with their Heckler and Koch 40mm Grenade Machine Guns, FHASAW and MG3 machine guns, small arms, SRAW Anti-Tank weapons, AT-4s, and M2 Brownings. Hopefully the artillery barrage would cease as the enemy got closer...

In Delmarva, tanks had begun their withdrawl from protecting the infantry to joining the artillery barrage. As three artillery batteries of 3 inch batteries kicked up holes of dust and created craters around the Federation infantrymen, the Tanks backed up their fire with the louder rumble of 100 mm on the T-54 and T-55 tanks, with the near-equivalent rumble of the T-34 tanks. Peppering in fire were some 12,000 East Congaree infantrymen that were withdrawing a mile or so behind the tanks, ready to charge forward when the pounding ended. The batteries and tanks continued fire at the rate of 12 shells per minute; A rate that could not be held up for long, but would pack hell while it held up. The tanks also blazed their sidearms and coaxial guns in the way they would shells, aiming the bullets into the barrage as "mini-shells". The landscape ahead looked like a portion of hell had taken up residence up there, but eight of the T-34s were black, dead corpses along with twelve of their T-55 counterparts. At least ten of the 3 inchers were taken out, and 200 more East Congaree infantrymen had been killed on their withdrawl backwards. An unknown amount of Federation infantrymen lay ahead, whom probably had their faces caked in dust and bruised by falling concrete and material. Out of the Western sky, twelve MiG-21s screeched; the entire air garrison of East Congaree's portion far-southern of Delmvarva. They fired their rocketpods from a mile away of Delmarva; two masses on the wings that had replaced the air-to air missiles. A loud "whack!" came, followed by a "whap, whap, whap" as they emptied their cannons on the Federation infantrymen, sending bellows and smaller puffs of dust into the sky above the Federation territory. Nine MiGs were shot down, but three others were fortunate enough to flee the Delmarva peninsula and land at an airbase deeper into East Congaree territory at Merchant's Millpond.
Arlington
The MiG-15 that had shot down the B-2 with its cannons realized that even if the B-2 was shot down and in disrepair, it had indeed dropped one final bomb. Arlington Army outpost held 28,000 troops- 14,000 of which had been deployed to back up Alexandria. It held large numbers of 3-inch and 5-inch batteries, along with a few 16 inch batteries. A few dozen T-54s were there, along with a few dozen T-72s, all of which had been deployed to assist the forces in Alexandria. Within moments, only the forces in the basement 200 feet below the base (2,000 infantrymen, the base's 12 top commanding officers, two three inch batteries, and one 5 inch battery lay in tact. The land above was a scorching mess, with a B-2 bomber flaming a few hundred yards away making a nosedive into the Patomac river.
The Hills Between Arlington and Alexandria
The F-35s and F-22s fired their ground-attack munitions, destroying 29 T-34s and taking out numerous trucks that held 13,000 infantrymen. Flying shrapnel stopsped the majority of the other trucks, of which blew up or became easy targets for the F-35s' cannons. The cannons also chewed up all but two of the tanks. As the tanks approached Alexandria heights, they opened their guns up on Federation infantry troops from about a mile away, seeing puffs of dust go skyward. The other infantrymen attempted to assault from the Federation rear, but only 50 made it to the whordes of Federation infantry as they were chewed up by machine guns. The remnants of the infantry division opened up their Lee-Enfields, hoping for the best....
Alexandria Heights
By the time the few reinforcments arrived, only 90 infantry troops remained, all of which were fleeing from the black-clad fiends. They knew hopes of holding the base were psychotic at this point, and clung on to the small chance that they could escape to the woods around Culpeper, which housed the army's headquarters. As they withdrew, a federation machine gun opened up on them, killing 15 of them and making them scatter in small fireteams, all making the withdraw to the woodline in the distance.....

Delmarva
The 30 remaining GWO infantrymen from the defensive bunkers were now in a full run towards their shelters, where the rest of the troops were. Most of the bunkers remaining bunkers were filled with carnage, with the insides of GWO troops splattered across the walls. Out of the 30 troops who began running back to the shelters, only 7 remained unwounded.
In the shelter, the defending forces waited. Hopefully, the EC troops would feel secure without finding them, allowing them to suddenly pop out and ambush them.
The Major in command of the outpost began calling Uranium Province. He was requesting a force of 45 AH-64 helicopters to deal with the tanks, as well as thin out the infantry.
Alexandria Heights
As the machine gunner killed the 15 EC troops, he was shouting, "CRY SOME MORE!" before an artillery round hit him directly.
Quickly, the troops began running for cover and laying low, except for 45 GWO infantrymen who commandeered several light transports (Jeeps) and began chasing the retreating EC soldiers, using their AGMOED IR Sensors to see the men running through the forest. The Divine Tigers began launching shells back at the source of artillery fire, charging forward as they did so. One of the Divine Tigers blew apart, due to an extremely rare shot in which the shell went through the hatch.
Unknown Location, EC Territory
The two B-2 crew members safely landed. They quickly abandoned their flight apparatuses and grabbed their survival gear. Both of them had ESA-4 SMGs. One had a P-90, and the other had a Kriss Super V. Their flightsuits were Woodland MARPAT, providing camouflage. They both also had .22 rifles for hunting after their week's worth of dehydrated food ran out. They also had Kampfmesser 2000s, which were sharp enough to cut through a plane's fuselage. They began hurrying towards the Patomac River...

Arlington
The artillery fire on the Grand World Order infantry troops in Alexandria Heights suddenly ended. With this came the order for all troops at Arlington to withdraw south to the Army headquarters in Culpeper. This order also applied to the re-enforcements at Alexandria heights, who were told to withdraw with the original infantrymen.
Delmarva
Richmond and Norfolk's defensive garrisons, numbering four infantry divisions, one artillery division, and two tank regiments of T-55s in total, had been shipped across to the Delmarva peninsula, where they joined in on the artillery barrage of the Grand World Order outpost delmarva. Additionally, air support to deal with Grand World Order air-ground attack threats came in the force of 12 MiG-29s and 12 MiG-21s from Naval Air Station Norfolk.

Delmarva
By now, the East Congaree troops were wasting their ammunition. All of the troops were either dead, maimed, or in the underground bunkers.
The AH-64s wouldn't stand a chance against the MiGs if they stayed. As soon as the MiGs were detected, the helicopters began a full-on retreat, firing one last barrage at the EC ground troops. 12 AH-64s were shot down by the MiGs. The AH-64 pilots called for assistance from the GWO Air Force, which was shown when six F-35s and 10 F-22s rushed into the scene, firing a total of 10 MBDA Meteors and 14 AMRAAMs before going into defensive status. The Apaches slowly began approaching the scene again. Hopefully, the GWO Fighters would distract the MiGs long enough for the AH-64s to do a number on the EC forces.

The MiGs ignored the F-35s and F-22s, and then begin to fully persue the apaches. They fired their "aphid" missiles at them once more, before opening up their cannons as they got within one mile of them. The apaches began to fall in large numbers once more, but four MiG-21s and six MiG-29s were shot down by Grand World Order F-35s and F-22s as they persued the apaches. The rest of Norfolk's air garrison, 40 MiG-21s, were called up to assist in detering the Federation air threat. The MiGs had 3/4 of their air-air missiles removed to add extra fuel space to their aircraft. In addition, half of their cannon rounds were left off to conserve fuel space. With this, they could stay in the air for quite awhile. In addition, fifteen MiG-29s were being called up from Naval Air station Cape Fear. These were half of the air station's total air garrison, and they would only have half the "aphid" missiles they typically carried, with two-thirds of their cannon rounds being removed. At that same time, the ground forces left 1200 infantrymen and three T-55 tanks to hold Grand World Order station Delmvarva as the rest of the forces moved up and began shelling Wilmington, Delaware.
